ABSTRACT Purpose Create a checklist of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) based on relevant categories for the development of speech and language, according to the perception of parents and speech therapists. Methods Pilot application and research were carried out. 100 parents of preschool children with typical language/cognition development and 57 language specialist speech therapists participated in the survey. A questionnaire was created with 199 ICF categories of body function components, activities and participation, and environmental factors. Each category was scored as: indispensable (2); important (1) or unimportant (0). Statistical analysis was performed (descriptive, sum, cluster/K-means and Mann-Whitney method). Results With the sum of the points (essential, important and unimportant) and the number of responses essential, the most relevant categories were identified for each group of respondents, as well as the set of categories in common (72 considered to have the greatest influence). The common list to the groups included the three components: body functions (30 categories/40% of the total), activities and participation (35/49.29%) and environmental factors (seven/13.20%). From the selected categories, 58.33% presented statistically significant results between the groups, regarding the relevance given. Conclusions The categories were considered with different scores between the groups: those of body functions were more scored by speech therapists, while those of environmental factors by parents. Thus, it was possible to create a checklist from the identification of the most relevant categories for the development of speech and language, in preschool age, contemplating the components of body functions, activities and participation and environmental factors.

RESUMO Objetivo Criar um checklist da Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde (CIF) a partir de categorias relevantes para o desenvolvimento de fala e linguagem, segundo a percepção de pais e fonoaudiólogos. Método Realizou-se aplicação piloto e pesquisa. Na pesquisa participaram 100 pais de pré-escolares, com desenvolvimento típico de linguagem/cognição e 57 fonoaudiólogos especialistas em linguagem. Elaborou-se questionário com 199 categorias da CIF dos componentes de funções do corpo, atividades e participação e fatores ambientais. Cada categoria foi pontuada como: indispensável (2); importante (1) ou sem importância (0). Realizou-se a análise estatística (descritiva, soma, cluster/Método K-means e Mann-Whitney). Resultados Com a soma dos pontos (indispensável, importante e sem importância) e a quantidade de respostas indispensável, foram identificadas as categorias de maior relevância para cada grupo de respondentes, assim como o conjunto de categorias em comum (72 consideradas de maior influência). A listagem comum aos grupos contou com os três componentes: funções do corpo (30 categorias/40% do total), atividades e participação (35/49,29%) e fatores ambientais (sete/13,20%). Das categorias selecionadas, 58,33% apresentaram resultados estatisticamente significantes entre os grupos, quanto à relevância dada. Conclusão As categorias foram consideradas com pontuações distintas entre os grupos: as de funções do corpo foram mais pontuadas pelos fonoaudiólogos, enquanto as de fatores ambientais pelos pais. Assim, foi possível criar um checklist a partir da identificação das categorias mais relevantes para o desenvolvimento de fala e linguagem, em idade pré-escolar, contemplando os componentes funções do corpo, atividades e participação e fatores ambientais.

ABSTRACT Purpose To verify the association between sociodemographic factors, vocal behavior, morbidities, and self-perception of voice, hearing, and general health in older women with voice disorders. Methods The sample had 95 older women aged 60 to 84 years (mean of 69,5). They were interviewed with a structured questionnaire on sociodemographic aspects, health, and vocal behavior. The Screening Protocol for Voice Disorders in Older Adults (RAVI) was used to identify the presence of voice disorders. Results Participants who had finished high school and were retired predominated. The number of older women with voice disorders according to RAVI was 46.3%. Physical sensations such as dry throat, throat clearing, and itchy throat were the most common complaints. The group of older women with voice disorders had worse self-perception of voice quality, hearing, and general health and a higher frequency of upper airway infections than those without voice disorders (p ≤ 0.05). Conclusion The vocal self-assessment measured with RAVI was statistically associated with self-perception of voice quality, hearing, general health, sore throat, sinusitis, and respiratory allergies.

RESUMO Objetivo Verificar a associação de fatores sociodemográficos, do comportamento vocal, morbidades e autopercepção da voz, auditiva e de saúde geral de idosas com distúrbio vocal. Método Participaram 95 idosas com idades entre 60 e 84 anos (média 69,5). Realizou-se uma entrevista com apoio de um questionário estruturado contendo questões sociodemográficas, de saúde e do comportamento vocal. Utilizou-se o Protocolo para Rastreamento de Alterações Vocais em Idosos (RAVI) para identificar a presença de distúrbio vocal. Resultados Houve o predomínio de participantes com ensino médio completo e aposentadas. O número de idosas que apresentaram distúrbio vocal segundo o RAVI foi de 46,3%. Queixas relacionadas às sensações físicas como garganta seca, pigarro e coceira na garganta foram as mais presentes. O grupo de idosas com distúrbio vocal apresentou pior autopercepção da qualidade vocal, audição, saúde geral e maior frequência de infecções de vias aéreas superiores quando comparadas àquelas sem distúrbio vocal (p≤0,05). Conclusão Houve associação estatística entre a autoavaliação vocal mensurada pelo RAVI e a autopercepção da qualidade da voz, da audição, da saúde geral, inflamações de garganta, sinusite e alergias respiratórias.

ABSTRACT Purpose To identify the risk of dysphagia and its association with signs suggestive of sarcopenia, nutritional status and frequency of oral hygiene in the hospitalized elderly. Methods This is an analytical cross-sectional study with the participation of 52 elderly patients admitted to a medical clinic at a public hospital in the Federal District, Brazil. The Eating Assessment Tool, Strength, Assistance with walking, Rise from a chair, Climb stairs and Falls + Calf Circumference and the Mini Nutritional Assessment shortform were applied, in addition to the collection of sociodemographic data and health conditions. Results Among the elderly participants, 30.8% were at risk of self-reported dysphagia. The factors associated with the risk of dysphagia were: signs suggestive of sarcopenia (p=0.04), nutritional status (p<0.001) and oral hygiene frequency (p=0.03). Conclusion In the geriatric population of the present study, with the majority of the participants having tested positive for Covid-19, the risk of dysphagia was associated with signs suggestive of sarcopenia, nutritional status and frequency of oral hygiene.

RESUMO Objetivo Identificar o risco de disfagia e sua associação com os sinais sugestivos de sarcopenia, estado nutricional e frequência da higiene oral em idosos hospitalizados. Método Trata-se de um estudo transversal analítico com participação de 52 idosos internados em clínica médica de um hospital público no Distrito Federal. Foram aplicados os instrumentos Eating Assessment Tool, Strength, Assistance with walking, Rise from a chair, Climb stairs and Falls + Circunferência da Panturrilha e o Mini Nutritional Assessment shortform além de coleta de dados sociodemográficos e de condições de saúde. Resultados Dos idosos participantes 30,8% apresentaram risco de disfagia autorrelatada. Os fatores associados ao risco de disfagia foram sinais sugestivos sarcopenia (p=0,04), estado nutricional (p<0,001) e frequência da higiene oral (p=0,03). Conclusão Na população geriátrica deste estudo, em sua maioria com Covid-19, o risco de disfagia esteve associado aos sinais sugestivos de sarcopenia, estado nutricional e frequência da higiene oral.

ABSTRACT Purpose To compare the introduction of consistencies during the period of complementary feeding of preterm and full-term newborns up to 12 months of life, as well as to evaluate the presence of oral motor dysfunction and its relation to difficulty in introducing food consistencies in these groups. Methods This is an observational, analytical, cohort study, with ambispective data collection, carried out at the Municipal Department of Health of Mafra, state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The study sample consisted of 87 newborns, 41 full-term and 46 preterm. While data was collected, interviews were held with the mothers/guardians. The anthropometric assessment was carried out by a nutritionist by measuring body weight, length, and head circumference, followed by assessment of oral and functional motor skills by the adapted Clinical Evaluation Protocol of Pediatric Dysphagia (PAD-PED), assessment of breastfeeding and neuropsychomotor development, and assessment of the presence of maternal depression and psychological risk of children with up to 12 months of corrected age. Results We verified oral motor dysfunction in 15 newborns, in both groups, in the liquid consistency in the first assessment, persisting in two cases in the full-term newborns and in three cases in the preterm infants, in the last assessment for the solid consistency. Conclusion We observed no difference in the introduction of food consistencies between groups. Breastfeeding was more frequent in newborns in the first assessment and similar in other assessments. Regarding the predictors for oral motor dysfunction, bottle feeding increased the odds by about seven times and invasive oral procedures by about six times.

RESUMO Objetivo Comparar a introdução das consistências no período da alimentação complementar de recém-nascidos prematuros e recém-nascidos a termo até os 12 meses de vida, bem como avaliar a presença de disfunção motora oral e a sua relação com dificuldade na introdução das consistências alimentares nestes grupos. Método Trata-se de um estudo do tipo observacional, analítico, coorte, com coleta de dados ambispectiva, realizado na Secretaria Municipal de Saúde de Mafra - SC. A amostra do estudo foi constituída de 87 recém-nascidos, sendo 41 a termo e 46 prematuros. Na coleta de dados, foram realizadas entrevistas com as mães/responsáveis. A avaliação antropométrica foi realizada por nutricionista por meio de mensuração do peso corporal, comprimento e perímetro cefálico, seguida de avaliação das habilidades motoras orais e funcionais por meio do PAD-PED adaptado, avaliação da mamada, avaliação do desenvolvimento neuropsicomotor, avaliação da presença de depressão materna e risco psíquico da criança, até os 12 meses de vida de idade corrigida. Resultados A disfunção motora oral foi observada em 15 recém-nascidos, em ambos os grupos, na consistência líquida na primeira avaliação, persistiu em dois casos nos recém-nascidos a termo e em três casos nos recém-nascidos pré-termo, na última avaliação para a consistência sólida. Conclusão Não foi observada diferença na introdução das consistências alimentares entre os grupos. O aleitamento materno foi mais frequente nos a termo na primeira avaliação e semelhante nas demais avaliações. Com relação aos preditivos para disfunção motora oral, a mamadeira aumentou a chance em cerca de 7 vezes e procedimentos orais invasivos cerca de 6 vezes.

ABSTRACT Purpose To develop an assessment protocol for speech motor planning with phonologically balanced stimuli for Brazilian Portuguese, including all necessary variables for this diagnosis. Methods Three stages were carried out: In the first, word lists were built with the main criterion being syllabic and accentual patterns. From the survey conducted in Stage 1, the words that composed the first version of the protocol lists in Stage 2 were selected, and grouped into two fundamental tasks for diagnosing acquired apraxia of speech (AOS): repetition and Reading Aloud (RA). In Stage 3, the occurrence of words was investigated using the Brazilian Corpus (PUC-SP) - Linguateca database, and a statistical analysis was performed to verify if the repetition and RA lists were balanced in terms of the occurrences. Thus, the lists were distributed in quartiles and submitted to both descriptive and bivariate analyses. A significance level of 5% (p<0.05) was adopted. Results After completion of all stages, the words that composed the lists of the repetition and RA tasks were obtained. Finally, other tasks considered essential for the assessment of AOS, such as diadochokinetic rates and the board for spontaneous oral emission, were then added to the protocol. Conclusion The developed protocol contains the tasks considered standard for the assessment of AOS according to the international literature, which makes this instrument important for diagnosing this disorder in speakers of Brazilian Portuguese.

RESUMO Objetivo Elaborar um protocolo de avaliação do planejamento motor da fala com estímulos fonologicamente balanceados para o português brasileiro e que contemple todas as variáveis necessárias para este diagnóstico. Método Foram realizadas três etapas: Na primeira, construíram-se listas de palavras cujo critério principal foram os padrões silábicos e acentuais. Do levantamento realizado na Etapa 1, procedeu-se à seleção dos vocábulos que compuseram a primeira versão do protocolo na Etapa 2, reunidas em duas tarefas: de repetição e de Leitura em Voz Alta (LVA). Em seguida, investigou-se a ocorrência das palavras usando a base de dados do Corpus Brasileiro (PUC-SP) - Linguateca. Na etapa 3 realizou-se a análise estatística para verificar se as listas de repetição e de LVA estavam equilibradas quanto à ocorrência das palavras. Assim, as listas foram distribuídas em quartis e foram analisadas de forma descritiva e bivariada. O nível de significância utilizado foi de 5%. Resultados Após a realização de todas as etapas, foi possível obter as palavras que compuseram as listas das tarefas de repetição e de LVA. Finalmente, foram então acrescidas ao protocolo as demais tarefas consideradas essenciais para a avaliação da apraxia como as taxas diadococinéticas e a prancha para a emissão oral espontânea. Conclusão O protocolo desenvolvido contém as tarefas consideradas padrão para a avaliação da apraxia de fala pela literatura internacional, o que torna esse instrumento importante para o diagnóstico desse distúrbio em falantes do português brasileiro.

ABSTRACT Purpose The purpose of the study was to develop the Tamil Matrix Sentence Test (TMST) and evaluate the performance of a group of young adults with normal hearing on the developed test. The developed sentences were also administered at varying intensities to obtain a performance-intensity (PI) function. Methods A base matrix with 10 sentences containing 5 words each with a total of 50 words was used to develop the TMST. The sentences had a fixed semantic sentence structure of Tamil language in the order of noun, number, adjective, object and verb. The developed test consisted of 30 lists with 10 sentences in each list. The performance of 60 young adults with normal hearing aged 18 to 24 years across the 30 lists were compared for list equivalency. To obtain the PI function the sentences were administered on 20 young adults with normal hearing at intensities from 20 dB HL to 100 dB HL in 10 dB increments. The performance across the intensity levels were compared. Results The 30 lists of TMST were found to be acoustically equivalent. However, few lists showed significant difference in the scores obtained on them compared to the rest of the lists. The PI function revealed a saturation in performance beyond 40 dB HL. Conclusion From the results it was construed that TMST can be used to evaluate the speech identification abilities of Tamil speaking listeners. Multiple lists offer the advantage of retesting without the influence of practice or listeners memorizing the test material.

ABSTRACT Purpose Due to the pandemic of the Covid-19 disease, it became common to wear masks on some public spaces. By covering mouth and nose, visual-related speech cues are greatly reduced, while the auditory signal is both distorted and attenuated. The present study aimed to analyze the multisensory effects of mask wearing on speech intelligibility and the differences in these effects between participants who spoke 1, 2 and 3 languages. Methods The study consisted of the presentation of sentences from the SPIN test to 40 participants. Participants were asked to report the perceived sentences. There were four conditions: auditory with mask; audiovisual with mask; auditory without mask; audiovisual without mask. Two sessions were conducted, one week apart, each with the same stimuli but with a different signal-to-noise ratio. Results Results demonstrated that the use of the mask decreased speech intelligibility, both due to a decrease in the quality of auditory stimuli and due to the loss of visual information. Signal-to-noise ratio largely affects speech intelligibility and higher ratios are needed in mask-wearing conditions to obtain any degree of intelligibility. Those who speak more than one language are less affected by mask wearing, as are younger listeners. Conclusion Wearing a facial mask reduces speech intelligibility, both due to visual and auditory factors. Older people and people who only speak one language are affected the most.

RESUMO Objetivo Devido à pandemia da doença Covid-19, o uso de máscaras em espaços públicos tornou-se comum. Ao cobrir a boca e o nariz, reduzem-se amplamente as pistas visuais associadas à fala, assim como se distorce e atenua o sinal auditivo. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar os efeitos multissensoriais do uso da máscara na percepção da fala e a diferença entre participantes falantes de uma, duas ou três línguas. Método Este estudo consistiu na apresentação de frases do SPIN teste a 40 participantes. Os participantes tinham como tarefa reportar as frases percebidas em quatro condições: Auditiva com máscara, audiovisual com máscara, auditiva sem máscara, audiovisual sem máscara. Conduziram-se duas sessões, com uma semana de intervalo, cada uma com os mesmos estímulos mas com diferente relação sinal-ruído. Resultados Os resultados demonstraram que o uso de máscara reduz a inteligibilidade da fala, tanto devido à diminuição da qualidade do estímulo auditivo, como devido à perda de informação visual. A relação sinal-ruído afeta a inteligibilidade e com o uso de máscara são necessárias relações mais altas para obter qualquer identificação correta. Aqueles que falam mais do que uma língua, assim como os mais novos, são menos afetados na percepção de fala com uso de máscara. Conclusão O uso de máscara facial reduz a inteligibilidade da fala, tanto devido a fatores visuais como auditivos. Indivíduos monolíngues, assim como os mais velhos, são os mais afetados nesta tarefa.

ABSTRACT Purpose To identify the pathophysiological definitions adopted by studies investigating “cochlear synaptopathy” (CS) and “hidden hearing loss” (HHL). Research strategies The combination of keywords “Auditory Synaptopathy” or “Neuronal Synaptopathy” or “Hidden Hearing Loss” with “etiology” or “causality” or “diagnosis” was used in the databases EMBASE, Pubmed (MEDLINE), CINAHL (EBSCO), and Web of Science. Selection criteria Studies that investigated CS or HHL in humans using behavioral and/or electrophysiological procedures were included. Data analysis Data analysis and extraction were performed with regard to terminology, definitions, and population. Results 49 articles were included. Of these, 61.2% used the CS terminology, 34.7% used both terms, and 4.1% used HHL. The most-studied conditions were exposure to noise and tinnitus. Conclusion CS terminology was used in most studies, referring to the pathophysiological process of deafferentiation between the cochlear nerve fibers and inner hair cells.

RESUMO Objetivo Identificar as definições fisiopatológicas adotadas pelos estudos que investigaram a “sinaptopatia coclear” (SC) e “perda auditiva oculta” (PAO). Estratégia de pesquisa Utilizou-se a combinação de unitermos “Auditory Synaptopathy” or “Neuronal Synaptopathy” or “Hidden Hearing Loss” com “etiology” or “causality” or “diagnosis” nas bases de dados EMBASE, Pubmed (MEDLINE), CINAHL (EBSCO) e Web of Science. Critérios de seleção Incluiu-se estudos que investigaram a SC ou PAO em humanos com procedimentos comportamentais e/ou eletrofisiológicos. Análise dos dados Realizou-se a análise e extração de dados quanto a terminologia, definição e população estudada. Resultados Foram incluídos 49 artigos. Destes, 61,2% utilizaram a terminologia SC, 34,7% ambos os termos e 4,1% utilizaram PAO. As condições mais estudadas foram exposição ao ruído e zumbido. Conclusão A terminologia SC foi empregada na maioria dos estudos, com referência ao processo fisiopatológico de desaferenciação entre as fibras do nervo coclear e as células ciliadas internas

ABSTRACT Purpose To investigate the immediate impact on the voice of gospel singers with and without vocal complaints after a one-hour individual presentation. Methods Application of an online questionnaire that addressed the following aspects: 1 - Sociodemographic data; 2 – Self-assessment of the ability to sing using the Evaluation of the Ability to Sing Easily (EASE-BR) protocol; 3 - Self-assessment of vocal fatigue symptoms using the Vocal Fatigue Index (VFI) protocol; and 4 - Self-assessment of voice handicap using the Voice Handicap Index 10 (VHI-10) protocol. Participants were divided into two groups: Group with Vocal Complaint (WVC) and Group with no Vocal Complaint (WnVC) based on the total score of the IDV-10. Data underwent descriptive and inferential statistical analysis with a significance level of 5%. Results The study included 43 gospel singers with a median age of 34 years: 32 were in the WnVC group and 11 were in the WVC group. The WVC group reported hoarseness and experienced more difficulty while singing in the EASE, resulting in higher scores in both the VHI-10 and VFI protocols. A positive correlation was observed between singing difficulty and vocal handicap due to fatigue in amateur gospel singers, with this correlation being stronger within the WnVC group. Conclusion After one hour of performance, singers with vocal complaints exhibited higher rates of vocal fatigue, vocal disadvantage, and greater difficulty in singing. Singers without complaints may have their ability to sing impaired by vocal fatigue. Variations in singing ability and vocal handicaps in amateur gospel singers may be directly related to vocal fatigue.

RESUMO Objetivo Investigar o impacto imediato na voz de cantores gospel com e sem queixa vocal após uma apresentação individual de uma hora. Método Aplicação de um questionário online que abordou os seguintes aspectos: 1 - Dados sociodemográficos; 2 – Autoavaliação da habilidade de cantar pelo protocolo Evaluation of the Ability to Sing Easily (EASE-BR); 3 - Autoavaliação de sintomas de fadiga vocal pelo Índice de Fadiga Vocal (IFV); e 4 - Autoavaliação da desvantagem vocal pelo protocolo Índice de Desvantagem Vocal 10 (IDV-10). Os participantes foram divididos em dois grupos: Grupo Com Queixa (CQ) e Grupo Sem Queixa (SQ) com base no escore total do IDV-10. Os dados passaram por análise estatística descritiva e inferencial considerando o nível de significância de 5%. Resultados Participaram 43 cantores gospel com idade mediana de 34 anos, divididos entre 32 do grupo SQ e 11 do grupo CQ. O grupo CQ autorrelatou rouquidão e maior dificuldade ao cantar no EASE e maiores escores nos protocolos IDV-10 e IFV. Foi evidenciada correlação positiva entre a dificuldade ao cantar e a desvantagem vocal com a fadiga de cantores amadores gospel, sendo que essa correlação foi maior para o grupo SQ. Conclusão Cantores com queixa vocal apresentaram maiores índices de fadiga vocal, desvantagem vocal e maior dificuldade para cantar após uma hora de apresentação. Cantores sem queixa podem ter a habilidade de cantar prejudicada pela fadiga vocal. Variações na habilidade ao cantar e desvantagens vocais de cantores amadores gospel podem ter relação direta com a fadiga vocal.

ABSTRACT Purpose To investigate if the narrative score of the ProNOH protocol allows for discriminating age groups, as well as its relation with the global coherence level of the story. The performance of preschool and schoolchildren on the macrostructure aspects. Methods Participants were 97 preschoolers and schoolchildren with typical language development, aged between five and 12 years old, and both sexes who attended public schools. The “Protocolo de Avaliação da Narrativa Oral de História (ProNOH)” (Protocol for the Evaluation of Oral Storytelling) was applied and the narrative score in the macrostructure dimension was calculated with story grammar elements. These same story elements were used to obtain the global coherence level of the story, as proposed by Spinillo and Martins (1997). Results A statistically significant difference was found between age groups, mainly between the borderline ages of 5-6 years, 7-8 years, 9-10 years, and 11-12 years. Positive and statistically significant correlations were found between the narrative score and global coherence and age, as well as between the narrative score and global coherence. Conclusion The protocol proved to be useful for identifying the repertoire of typical story grammar elements as an objective measure that differs in oral narrative across age groups. The results also indicate that the narrative score can provide an idea about the global coherence of the story, although this value does not replace a specific analysis.

RESUMO Objetivo Investigar se o escore narrativo obtido por meio da aplicação do “Protocolo de Avaliação da Narrativa Oral de História (ProNOH)” permite discriminar os grupos etários estudados, bem como sua relação com o nível de coerência global da história. Método Participaram 97 pré-escolares e escolares com desenvolvimento típico de linguagem, entre 5 e 12 anos, ambos os sexos que frequentavam escola pública. Foi aplicado o “Protocolo de Avaliação da Narrativa Oral de História (ProNOH)” e calculado o escore narrativo na dimensão macroestrutural a partir dos elementos estruturais previstos no modelo da gramática de história. Esses mesmos elementos foram usados para obter o nível de coerência global da história, segundo proposta de análise de Spinillo e Martins (1997). Resultados Diferença estatisticamente significante foi encontrada entre os grupos etários, principalmente entre as idades fronteiriças de 5-6 anos, 7-8 anos, 9-10 anos e 11-12 anos. Correlação positiva e estatisticamente significante foi encontrada com a idade e o escore narrativo e a coerência global, bem como entre o escore narrativo e o nível de coerência global. Conclusão O protocolo mostrou ser útil para identificar o repertório de elementos típicos da gramática de história na narrativa oral como uma medida objetiva que diferenciou a narrativa oral de grupos etários. Os resultados indicaram ainda que o escore narrativo pode ser uma medida norteadora do nível de coerência da história, apesar deste valor não substituir uma análise específica.

ABSTRACT Purpose To describe the panorama of children’s hearing health in the Unified Health System of the state of Sergipe. Methods A quantitative and retrospective study consisting of four steps: 1) Search the National Registry of Health Establishments of institutions affiliated to the Health Unic System in the state of Sergipe that perform obstetric services and hearing health services; 2) Collecting Neonatal Hearing Screening (NHS) coverage data through DATASUS (from 2012 to 2020); 3) Data collection from medical records of institutions with obstetrics and that perform NHS; and 4) Interview with the guardians of children undergoing auditory rehabilitation. The results were summarized using descriptive statistics (absolute and relative frequency, measures of central tendency, and dispersion). Results Only one out of the 29 establishments with obstetrics performs NHS. Two of the Hearing Health Reference Centers (HHRC) are qualified for cochlear implants and two Specialized Centers are qualified for Rehabilitation. From 2012 to 2020, NHS coverage in the state was less than 40%, and when performed in the maternity ward, there were no referrals for Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response (BERA) and audiological diagnosis. The HHRC showed considerable coverage and a lower evasion rate to perform BERA, with a diagnosis rate of 4.8%. The mean time from the NHS to rehabilitation was longer than recommended. Conclusion NHS coverage must be increased, adjusting the hearing health network to articulate the different levels of care, and reducing the time for identification, diagnosis, and start of rehabilitation.

RESUMO Objetivo Descrever o panorama da saúde auditiva infantil no Sistema Único de Saúde do estado de Sergipe. Método Estudo quantitativo e retrospectivo, composto por quatro etapas: 1) Busca no Cadastro Nacional de Estabelecimento de Saúde das instituições conveniadas ao Sistema Único de Saúde no estado de Sergipe que realizam serviços obstétricos e dos serviços que atuam na saúde auditiva; 2) Obtenção de dados de cobertura da Triagem Auditiva Neonatal (TAN), por meio do DATASUS (de 2012 a 2020); 3) Coleta de dados em prontuários das instituições com obstetrícia e/ou que realizam a TAN; e 4) Entrevista aos responsáveis das crianças em reabilitação auditiva. Os resultados foram sumarizados por meio de estatística descritiva (frequência absoluta e relativa, medidas de tendência central e de dispersão). Resultados Dos 29 estabelecimentos com obstetrícia, um realiza a TAN. Há dois Centros de Referência em Saúde Auditiva (CRSA) com habilitação para implante coclear e dois Centros Especializados em Reabilitação. De 2012 a 2020 a cobertura da TAN no estado foi inferior a 40% e quando realizada na maternidade, houve ausência de encaminhamentos para a realização do Potencial Evocado Auditivo de Tronco Encefálico (PEATE) e do diagnóstico audiológico. Observou-se cobertura considerável no CRSA com menor taxa de evasão para realizar PEATE e com taxa de diagnóstico de 4,8%. O tempo médio da TAN universal à reabilitação foi superior ao recomendado. Conclusão Existe necessidade de aumentar a cobertura da TAN, ajustar a rede de saúde auditiva para a articulação nos diferentes níveis de atenção e diminuir o tempo para identificação, diagnóstico e início da reabilitação.

ABSTRACT Purpose To validate the appearance and content of the DHACA method to develop communication skills in autism. Methods This qualitative and quantitative validation study included 10 speech-language-hearing judges with expertise in alternative communication. The judges received the communication book, the description of the principles, skills, and strategies in the DHACA method, and a form with items for them to appraise the appearance and content of the method. The validity was calculated with the content validity index. Results The response analysis made it possible to calculate the degree of agreement between judges and develop the new instrument version. The calculation of the content validity index revealed excellent content validity. The judges made suggestions regarding the content of the communication book, texts regarding the participation of communication partners and modeling, using cues, and communicative skills. Conclusion The degree of agreement between judges ensured the validation of the appearance and content of the DHACA method, considering the items alone and the whole instrument. Hence, its use can be recommended for speech-language-hearing clinical practice.

RESUMO Objetivo Validar a aparência e o conteúdo do método de Desenvolvimento das Habilidades de Comunicação no Autismo (DHACA). Método Trata-se de estudo de validação de abordagem quali-quantitativa. Participaram do estudo dez juízes fonoaudiólogos com expertise na área da comunicação alternativa. Os juízes receberam o livro de comunicação, bem como a descrição dos princípios, habilidades e estratégias do método DHACA e um formulário com itens relativos à apreciação da aparência e conteúdo do método. A validade foi calculada usando o índice de validade de conteúdo. Resultados A análise das respostas possibilitou o cálculo do grau de concordância entre os juízes e a elaboração da nova versão do instrumento. O cálculo do Índice de Validade de Conteúdo revelou uma validade de conteúdo excelente. Os juízes deram sugestões referentes aos aspectos de conteúdo do livro de comunicação, nos textos de participação do parceiro de comunicação e modelagem, uso de dicas e habilidades comunicativas. Conclusão O grau de concordância observado entre os juízes possibilitou a obtenção da validação da aparência e do conteúdo do método DHACA, considerando-se os itens isoladamente e o instrumento como um todo, podendo ter seu uso recomendado na prática clínica fonoaudiológica.

ABSTRACT Introduction The auditory perception of voice and its production involve auditory feedback, kinesthetic cues and the feedforward system that produce different effects for the voice. The Lombard, Sidetone and Pitch-Shift-Reflex effects are the most studied. The mapping of scientific experiments on changes in auditory feedback for voice motor control makes it possible to examine the existing literature on the phenomenon and may contribute to voice training or therapies. Purpose To map experiments and research results with manipulation of auditory feedback for voice motor control in adults. Method Scope review following the Checklist Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension (PRISMA-ScR) to answer the question: “What are the investigation methods and main research findings on the manipulation of auditory feedback in voice self-monitoring of adults?”. The search protocol was based on the Population, Concept, and Context (PCC) mnemonic strategy, in which the population is adult individuals, the concept is the manipulation of auditory feedback and the context is on motor voice control. Articles were searched in the databases: BVS/Virtual Health Library, MEDLINE/Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System online, COCHRANE, CINAHL/Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, SCOPUS and WEB OF SCIENCE. Results 60 articles were found, 19 on the Lombard Effect, 25 on the Pitch-shift-reflex effect, 12 on the Sidetone effect and four on the Sidetone/Lombard effect. The studies are in agreement that the insertion of a noise that masks the auditory feedback causes an increase in the individual's speech intensity and that the amplification of the auditory feedback promotes the reduction of the sound pressure level in the voice production. A reflex response to the change in pitch is observed in the auditory feedback, however, with particular characteristics in each study. Conclusion The material and method of the experiments are different, there are no standardizations in the tasks, the samples are varied and often reduced. The methodological diversity makes it difficult to generalize the results. The main findings of research on auditory feedback on voice motor control confirm that in the suppression of auditory feedback, the individual tends to increase the intensity of the voice. In auditory feedback amplification, the individual decreases the intensity and has greater control over the fundamental frequency, and in frequency manipulations, the individual tends to correct the manipulation. The few studies with dysphonic individuals show that they behave differently from non-dysphonic individuals.

RESUMO Introdução A percepção auditiva da voz e sua produção envolvem o feedback auditivo, as pistas cinestésicas e o sistema de feedforward, os quais produzem efeitos distintos para a voz. Os efeitos Lombard, Sidetone e o Pitch-Shift-Reflex são os mais estudados. O mapeamento de experimentos científicos sobre as modificações do feedback auditivo para o controle motor da voz possibilita examinar a literatura existente sobre o fenômeno e pode contribuir para o treinamento ou terapias da voz. Objetivo Mapear os experimentos e resultados das pesquisas com manipulação do feedback auditivo para o controle motor da voz de indivíduos adultos. Método Revisão de escopo seguindo o Checklist Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension (PRISMA-ScR) para responder à pergunta: “Quais os métodos de investigação e principais achados das pesquisas sobre a manipulação do feedback auditivo no automonitoramento da voz de indivíduos adultos?”. O protocolo de busca foi baseado na estratégia mnemônica População, Conceito e Contexto (PCC). A população são os indivíduos adultos; o conceito é a manipulação do feedback auditivo e o contexto é o controle motor da voz. Os artigos foram pesquisados nas bases de dados: BVS/ Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, MEDLINE/Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval Sistem on-line, COCHRANE, CINAHL/Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, SCOPUS e WEB OF SCIENCE. Resultados Foram encontrados 60 artigos, sendo 19 da temática do Efeito Lombard, 25 do efeito Pitch-shift-reflex, 12 do efeito Sidetone e quatro sobre o efeito Sidetone/Lombard. Os estudos são concordantes que a inserção de um ruído que mascara o feedback auditivo provoca um aumento na intensidade de fala do indivíduo e que a amplificação do feedback auditivo promove a redução do nível de pressão sonora na produção da voz. Observa-se uma resposta reflexa à mudança de tom no feedback auditivo, porém, com características individuais em cada estudo. Conclusão O material e método dos experimentos são distintos, não há padronizações nas tarefas, as amostras são variadas, muitas vezes reduzidas. A diversidade metodológica dificulta a generalização dos resultados. Os principais achados das pesquisas a respeito o feedback auditivo sobre o controle motor da voz confirmam que, na supressão do feedback auditivo, o indivíduo tende a aumentar a intensidade da voz. Na amplificação do feedback auditivo, o indivíduo diminui a intensidade e tem maior controle sobre a frequência fundamental e, nas manipulações da frequência, o indivíduo tende a corrigir a manipulação. Os poucos estudos com sujeitos disfônicos mostram que eles se comportam diferentemente dos não disfônicos.

ABSTRACT Purpose To develop a guide for the preparation of speech-language reports of implanted children to be shared among speech-language pathologists of cochlear implant (CI) services and rehabilitation professionals. Methods The Delphi method was used to select the relevant and fundamental items that should be included in the two versions proposed for the guide: Guide 1 - Speech-language reports provided by the CI services to rehabilitators, and Guide 2 - Speech-language reports provided by the rehabilitators to CI services. Twenty-one speech therapists specialized and with experience in cochlear implants and auditory rehabilitation participated in the discussion and judgment of the items during the selection rounds. Consensus was considered when the item reached agreement equal to or greater than 80% among participants, being selected to compose the two guides. Results After the two rounds, 21 items from Guide 1 reached consensus among therapists, that is, more than 80% of them agreed that these items should be present in the report sent by the CI service. For Guide 2, 22 items analyzed by speech therapists working in CI services in the postoperative sector were selected in the second round. Conclusion Based on the analysis of the two rounds, the “Guide for the preparation of speech-language pathology reports: intersection between CI service and rehabilitators” was developed. This material can be applied in the follow-up of implanted children, standardizing the information shared about the electronic device, evaluation results, monitoring of results and therapeutic process of this population.

RESUMO Objetivo Desenvolver guia para elaboração de relatórios fonoaudiológicos de crianças implantadas para serem compartilhados entre fonoaudiólogos dos serviços de implante coclear (IC) e reabilitadores. Método O método Delphi foi utilizado para selecionar os itens relevantes e fundamentais que deveriam constar nas duas versões propostas para compor o guia: Guia 1 - Relatórios fonoaudiológicos fornecidos pelo serviço de IC aos reabilitadores, e Guia 2 - Relatórios fonoaudiológicos fornecidos pelos reabilitadores aos serviços de IC. Vinte e um fonoaudiólogos especialistas e com experiência na área de implante coclear e de reabilitação auditiva participaram da discussão e do julgamento dos itens durante as rodadas de seleção. Considerou-se consenso quando o item obteve a concordância igual ou superior a 80% entre os participantes, sendo selecionados para comporem os dois guias. Resultados Após as duas rodadas, 21 itens do Guia 1 obtiveram consenso entre os terapeutas, ou seja, mais de 80% deles concordaram que estes itens deveriam estar presentes no relatório enviado pelo serviço de IC. Para o Guia 2, 22 itens analisados pelos fonoaudiólogos atuantes em serviços de IC setor pós-operatório, foram selecionados na segunda rodada. Conclusão A partir da análise das duas rodadas, foi desenvolvido o “Guia para a elaboração de relatórios fonoaudiológicos: intersecção entre serviço de IC e reabilitadores”. Este material pode ser aplicado na rotina de acompanhamento de crianças implantadas, padronizando as informações compartilhadas sobre o dispositivo eletrônico, resultados de avaliações, monitoramento dos resultados e processo terapêutico dessa população.

ABSTRACT Purpose To identify orofacial myofunctional complaints and sleep-disordered breathing and correlate them with sleep habits in childhood. Methods The study included 71 parents/guardians of public school children aged 6 to 11 years. They answered a form with semi-structured medical history questions and the Nordic Orofacial Test-Screening - interview, the Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea Screening Tool Questionnaire, and the Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire - all of them in their Portuguese/Brazilian versions in an online format. Statistical analyses used Spearman’s correlation, setting the significance level at 5%. Results There were 29 female children (40.8%) and 42 male ones (59.2%), with a mean age of 8.52 years. The study found orofacial myofunctional complaints related to breathing functions (35.2%), chewing and swallowing (32.4%), and deleterious habits (33.8%). All children were at a low risk of sleep-disordered breathing. As for sleep habits, 23 children (32.39%) had a lower total score, whereas 48 children (67.61%) exceeded 41 points. Conclusion There was a correlation between the risk of sleep-disordered breathing in children with complaints of orofacial myofunctional disorders and poor sleep quality/habits.

RESUMO Objetivo Identificar e correlacionar as queixas de alterações miofuncionais orofaciais e de risco para distúrbios respiratórios do sono com hábitos de sono na infância. Método Participaram 71 pais ou responsáveis de crianças de 6 a 11 anos, matriculadas em uma escola pública. Foi aplicado um formulário com questões semiestruturadas/anamnese e os protocolos Nordic Orofacial Test-Screening - entrevista, Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea Screening Tool Questionnaire, e Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire - todos em suas versões em português/Brasil no formato online. Para a análise estatística, realizou-se o teste de correlação de Spearman, considerando o nível de significância de 5%. Resultados 29 crianças eram do sexo feminino (40,8%) e 42 do sexo masculino (59,2%), com média de idade de 8,52 anos. As queixas miofuncionais orofaciais encontradas foram relacionadas às funções de respiração (35,2%), mastigação e deglutição (32,4%) e hábitos deletérios (33,8%). Todas as crianças apresentaram um baixo risco para distúrbios respiratórios do sono e quanto aos hábitos de sono, 23 crianças (32,39%) apresentaram uma somatória menor, enquanto que 48 crianças (67,61%) ultrapassaram 41 pontos. Conclusão Houve correlação entre risco para distúrbios respiratórios do sono em crianças com as queixas de alterações miofuncionais orofaciais e com a baixa qualidade/maus hábitos de sono.
