ABSTRACT Purpose: to characterize the actions of vocal health promotion and/or prevention of vocal disorders applied to voice professionals. Methods: a scoping review following the PRISMA-ScR guidelines in SciELO and PubMed databases was conducted. Articles that had as participants voice professionals without concomitant vocal treatment, that described proposals for health promotion or vocal disorders prevention, published between 2010 and 2023, were included. They were grouped into categories and data were presented descriptively. Literature Review: eighteen articles with artistic and non-artistic voice professionals, mostly teachers, were included. Most of the studies focused on healthy voices, aiming at primary prevention. Many articles presented guidance on vocal hygiene and health and used resources such as vocal enhancement, voice workshop, voice amplifiers and apps. All the articles positively mentioned their results, especially with regard to self-perception in relation to voice, vocal quality and quality of life, awareness of positive and harmful practices to the voice. Conclusion: the proposals contemplated different levels of prevention, but most focused on primary prevention, including vocally healthy participants; all articles indicated positive results in voice self-perception, voice quality and quality of life, and awareness of positive and harmful voice practices.

RESUMO Objetivo: caracterizar as ações de promoção de saúde vocal e/ou prevenção de distúrbios vocais aplicadas em profissionais da voz. Métodos: foi conduzida uma revisão de escopo seguindo as diretrizes do PRISMA-ScR nas bases de dados SciELO e PubMed. Foram incluídos artigos que tivessem como participantes profissionais da voz sem tratamento vocal concomitante, que descrevessem propostas de promoção da saúde ou prevenção de distúrbios vocais, publicados entre 2010 e 2023. Os artigos foram agrupados em categorias e os dados apresentados de forma descritiva. Revisão da Literatura: foram incluídos 18 artigos com profissionais da voz artística e não-artística, em sua maioria professores. A maior parte dos estudos tinha como foco vozes saudáveis, visando a prevenção primária. Muitos artigos apresentaram orientações sobre higiene e saúde vocal e utilizaram recursos como aprimoramento vocal, oficina de voz, amplificadores de voz e aplicativos. Todos os artigos mencionam resultados benéficos, principalmente no que se refere à autopercepção em relação a voz, qualidade vocal e de vida, conscientização de práticas positivas e prejudiciais à voz. Conclusão: as propostas contemplaram diferentes níveis de prevenção, mas a maioria tinha como foco a prevenção primária, incluindo participantes vocalmente saudáveis; todos os artigos indicaram resultados favoráveis na autopercepção em relação à voz, qualidade vocal e de vida e conscientização de práticas benéficas e prejudiciais à voz.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to verify the use of photobiomodulation in swallowing difficulties in individuals who had a severe form of COVID-19. This case report was based on a quasi-experimental, quantitative study, with primary data collected from a non-probabilistic sample of 13 adults (aged ≥ 19 to < 60 years) of both sexes, who had the severe form of COVID-19. Swallowing was assessed with the Dysphagia Risk Assessment Protocol, and the intervention used photobiomodulation. Descriptive statistics were used. It was found that all research participants’ risk for dysphagia in water and pudding swallowing tests improved from before to after the intervention. It can be concluded that photobiomodulation had positive results in speech-language-hearing practice to treat swallowing difficulties in adults who were affected by the severe form of COVID-19, intubated, tracheostomized, and needed an alternative feeding route, as the swallowing difficulties improved.

RESUMO O objetivo foi verificar o uso da fotobiomodulação na dificuldade de deglutição em indivíduos que desenvolveram a forma grave da COVID-19. Trata-se de um relato de casos, a partir de um estudo quase experimental, quantitativo, com coleta de dados primários e com amostra não probabilística, realizado com 13 indivíduos adultos (idade ≥ 19 a < 60 anos) de ambos os sexos, que tiveram a forma grave da COVID-19. Foi realizada a avaliação da deglutição pelo Protocolo de Avaliação para o Risco de Disfagia (PARD) e a intervenção com fotobiomodulação. Foi utilizada a estatística descritiva. Verificou-se que todos os participantes da pesquisa apresentaram melhora no risco para disfagia no teste de deglutição de água e de alimento pastoso do momento pré para o pós-intervenção. Pode-se concluir que a utilização da fotobiomodulação na prática fonoaudiológica para tratar a dificuldade de deglutição dos adultos que foram acometidos pela forma grave da COVID-19, intubados, traqueostomizados e necessitaram fazer uso de via alternativa de alimentação, trouxe resultados positivos, com melhora da dificuldade de deglutição.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to critically analyze whether the legislation regarding the Personal Frequency-Modulated (FM) System device encompasses most of the students with hearing impairment to facilitate the development of skills required for communication, literacy, and learning. Methods: a legislative analysis of the norms regarding the use of the Personal Frequency-Modulated (FM) System device. Relevant legislations were searched on public databases such as the Planalto and the Ministry of Health portals. Brazilian laws, ordinances, and relevant guidelines were consulted as well. Literature Review: Ordinance n. 1,274 of June 25, 2013, the CONITEC Report on FM in 2020 and GM/MS Ordinance No. 2,465, of September 27, 2021, which regulate the Personal Modulated Frequency System device, were identified. Conclusion: the initial ordinance of 2013, which regulated the Personal Frequency-Modulated (FM) System, was revised and updated, because it did not include children under six years of age, who are in the peak phase of oral language learning.

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar criticamente se a legislação garantidora do dispositivo Sistema de Frequência Modulada Pessoal abrange a população adequada de escolares com deficiência auditiva no critério idade, de forma a favorecer o desenvolvimento das habilidades necessárias para a comunicação, a alfabetização e a aprendizagem dessas crianças. Métodos: trata-se de uma análise legislativa das normas referentes ao uso do dispositivo Sistema de Frequência Modulada Pessoal. Para a busca da legislação pertinente, foram utilizados bancos de dados públicos, tais como: o portal do Planalto e o portal do Ministério da Saúde. Foram consultadas as leis, portarias e diretrizes Brasileiras no que se refere ao uso do Dispositivo Sistema de Frequência Modulada Pessoal. Revisão da Literatura: foram identificadas na Revisão de Literatura a Portaria n. 1.274 de 25 de junho de 2013, o Relatório do CONITEC sobre o FM no ano de 2020 e a Portaria GM/MS Nº 2.465, de 27 de setembro de 2021 que regulamentam o dispositivo Sistema de Frequência Modulada Pessoal. Conclusão: é evidente que a portaria inicial de 2013, a qual regulamentava o fornecimento do Sistema FM, foi revista e atualizada, uma vez que não contemplava crianças menores de 6 anos, em fase de máxima aprendizagem da linguagem oral, pré-alfabetização e letramento, mesmo que estivessem inseridas em instituições escolares.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to investigate speech-language-hearing symptoms in adults after the acute phase of COVID-19 and the impact of these persistent symptoms on their physical and emotional aspects, functional capacity, and social relationships. Methods: 204 adults who tested positive for COVID-19 between January 2021 and July 2022 and who completed an online questionnaire, addressing different variables. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics. Results: the most prevalent symptoms up to 30 days after infection were tiredness (46%), memory loss (40.2%), and ageusia (26.5%). The most found long-term symptoms were memory loss (34.3%), tiredness (21.1%), and difficulties in starting a sentence or conversation (10.1%). Anosmia and ageusia were also cited. These persistent symptoms had an impact on their emotional aspect (33.3%), followed by the physical (26%) and occupational (25%) ones. Conclusion: this study found persistent symptoms after the acute phase of COVID-19, which can lead to speech-language-hearing disorders, such as impaired oral language and eating. These persistent symptoms impacted the participants’ emotional, physical, and occupational aspects.

RESUMO Objetivo: investigar a presença de sintomas fonoaudiológicos em adultos após o período da fase aguda da COVID-19, além do impacto da manutenção desses sintomas nos aspectos físicos, emocionais, capacidade funcional e relações sociais. Métodos: participaram 204 adultos que testaram positivo para COVID-19 no período de janeiro de 2021 a julho de 2022 e que preencheram um questionário on- line, abordando diferentes variáveis. Os dados foram analisados por meio de estatística descritiva. Resultados: os sintomas mais prevalentes até 30 dias após a infecção foram cansaço (46%), perda de memória (40,2%) e ageusia (26,5%). Os sintomas de longa duração mais observados foram perda de memória (34,3%), cansaço (21,1%) e dificuldades para iniciar um diálogo ou frase (10,1%). Anosmia e ageusia também foram citadas. Houve impacto da manutenção desses sintomas no aspecto emocional (33,3%), seguido dos aspectos físicos (26%) e ocupacionais (25%). Conclusão: neste estudo foram encontrados sintomas persistentes após o período da fase aguda da COVID-19 que podem levar a alterações fonoaudiológicas, como prejuízo na linguagem oral e nas questões alimentares. A manutenção desses sintomas impactou nos aspectos emocionais, físicos e ocupacionais dos participantes.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to analyze the telehealth speech therapy approach in patients with oropharyngeal dysphagia and determine the applications and effects of this practice. Methods: the following descriptors were used for selection: Telerehabilitation, Telemedicine, "Remote Consultation", "Healthcare Delivery", "Distance Counseling", "Therapy, Computer-Assisted", "Speech-Language Pathology", "Speech Therapy", "Swallowing Disorders", Dysphagia, “Bottle Feeding" and "Enteral Nutrition” in PubMed, MedLine, Scopus and Web of Science databases and in the gray literature, by Google Scholar and ProQuest. Studies were selected without time limits, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, that described the applicability and/or effects of telehealth in speech therapy practice in patients with swallowing disorders/dysphagia, regardless of gender and age. For analysis, the following were considered: level of scientific evidence and recommendation, telehealth modality, objectives, methods and results/conclusion. Literature Review: 490 articles were found and, after exclusion of duplicates, analysis of titles, abstracts and reading of full articles, 22 studies were selected. The articles were classified into telehealth modalities: tele-education, telediagnosis, teleconsulting, teleregulation and telemonitoring. Conclusion: the telehealth modalities described had a great potential to promote significant improvements in patients presented with swallowing disorders/dysphagia, suggesting them as viable for speech therapy services. Among them, teleconsultation was the least addressed.

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar a abordagem fonoaudiológica por meio da telessaúde em pacientes com disfagia e determinar as aplicações e efeitos desta prática. Métodos: para seleção foram utilizados os descritores: Telerehabilitation, Telemedicine, "Remote Consultation", "Delivery of Health Care", "Distance Counseling", "Therapy, Computer-Assisted", “Speech-Language Pathology”, "Speech Therapy", "Deglutition Disorders", Dysphagia, “Bottle Feeding" e "Enteral Nutrition” nas bases de dados PubMed, MedLine, Scopus e Web of Science e na literatura cinzenta, por meio do Google Acadêmico e ProQuest. Foram selecionados estudos sem delimitação de tempo, nas línguas português, inglês e espanhol, que descrevessem a aplicabilidade e/ou efeitos da telessaúde na prática fonoaudiológica junto à pacientes com alteração da deglutição/disfagia, sem restrição de sexo e idade. Para análise considerou-se: nível de evidência científica e recomendação, modalidade de telessaúde, objetivos, métodos e resultados/conclusão. Revisão da Literatura: foram encontrados 490 artigos e, após exclusão de duplicatas, análise dos títulos, resumos e leitura completa dos artigos, 22 estudos foram selecionados. Os artigos foram classificados nas modalidades da telessaúde: tele-educação, telediagnóstico, teleconsultoria, telerregulação e telemonitoramento. Conclusão: as modalidades de telessaúde descritas tiveram grande potencial para promover melhoras significativas em pacientes com alteração de deglutição/disfagia, sugerindo-as como viáveis para serviços fonoaudiológicos. Entre elas, a teleconsulta foi a menos explorada.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to investigate the frequency-following response (FFR) for sustained neural activity. Methods: 39 individuals, aged between 20 to 47 months old were divided into 2 groups: (i) 20 individuals without prenatal exposure to the congenital Zika syndrome (CZS) or hydrocephaly, normal development, no risk factors for hearing loss or syndromic hearing impairment and (ii) 19 individuals diagnosed with CZS and microcephaly - based on imaging studies linked to the clinical presentation of the condition. All participants exhibited normal click-ABR tests. FFR waveforms were documented using the /da/ syllable employing the Navigator Pro. The statistical analysis used was ANOVA (p-value <0.05). Results: no distinctions were observed concerning the variables of group, age, or gender with respect to FFR latency values, except for an interaction between gender and group for latency values associated with waves V and F. Children with CZS and microcephaly showed a difference for latency values in wave V for both males and females, when compared to the control group. Conclusion: children presented with CZS and microcephaly showed higher average latencies for waves V, A, C, D and F (male) compared to the control group, whereas, in waves E, F (female) and O they showed higher values in the control group.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to analyze the time trend of audiological procedures in the Brazilian Public Health System (SUS) between 2008 and 2019 in the geographical regions of Brazil. Methods: a time series ecological study with data on audiological procedures from the SUS Outpatient Information System. The study calculated annual indices of audiological procedures with joinpoint regression for the trend analysis. The progress in the provision of procedures between the initial and final years in the series and the distribution of identified records was calculated. Results: altogether, 38,500,404 records were found in the study period. The South (178.84/10,000 inhabitants) and North of Brazil (130.97/10,000 inhabitants), respectively, had the highest and lowest mean procedure indices. Both were the only regions with a trend towards a significant increase in procedures. In Brazil, they increased by 56.91%, with an emphasis on the increase in “otoacoustic evoked emissions in neonatal hearing screening” and a decrease in “visual reinforcement audiometry (air/bone conduction).” In the distribution, procedures concentrated on basic audiological assessments. Conclusion: audiological procedures have increased at SUS, but there are discrepancies between procedures and geographical regions of Brazil.

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar a tendência temporal de procedimentos audiológicos no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), entre 2008 e 2019, nas regiões geográficas brasileiras. Métodos: estudo ecológico de série temporal, com dados de procedimentos audiológicos do Sistema de Informações Ambulatoriais do SUS. Foram calculadas taxas anuais de procedimentos audiológicos, utilizando-se a regressão Joinpoint para análise de tendência. Calculou-se a evolução da oferta destes procedimentos entre os anos inicial e final da série e a distribuição dos registros identificados. Resultados: foram localizados 38.500.404 registros no período investigado. Verificou-se que as regiões Sul (178,84/10.000 habitantes) e Norte (130,97/10.000 habitantes) apresentaram a maior e a menor taxa média de procedimentos, respectivamente. Ambas foram as únicas regiões que exibiram tendências de aumento significativo na realização dos procedimentos. No Brasil, a oferta dos procedimentos demonstrou uma evolução positiva de 56,91%, com destaque para crescimento de “emissões otoacústicas evocadas para triagem auditiva (teste da orelhinha)” e queda de “audiometria de reforço visual (via aérea/óssea)”. Na distribuição, houve concentração de procedimentos da avaliação audiológica básica. Conclusão: a realização de procedimentos audiológicos no SUS revela aumento, mas evidencia discrepâncias nas regiões geográficas brasileiras e nos procedimentos executados.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to investigate the profile of speech-language-hearing therapists from Northeastern Brazil assisting children presented with congenital Zika syndrome and their perception of these children’s orofacial myofunctional aspects and speech-language-hearing intervention procedures. Methods: a cross-sectional observational study with quantitative/qualitative analysis. The data collection instrument was an online questionnaire with 34 items on the speech-language-hearing therapists’ sociodemographic information and perception of the study topic. The sample comprised 23 speech-language-hearing therapists from the nine Northeastern states. Results: altogether, 96% of the sample were females. Most professionals had more than 3 years of experience with congenital Zika syndrome. Concerning stomatognathic system characterization, the professionals described a greater degree of change in aspects of orofacial muscle posture and mobility. Regarding oral functions, they perceived greater changes in speech and swallowing liquids and solid foods. There was a greater degree of change in masticating solids than in swallowing liquids. Conclusion: most speech-language-hearing therapists in the research had a specialization degree, especially in dysphagia and oral-motor control. Most of them had more than 3 years of experience following up with children with congenital Zika syndrome, which indicates a satisfactory time working with this population to help identify orofacial myofunctional changes in them. The professionals stated that orofacial muscle posture and mobility, speech, and swallowing liquids and solid foods were the most changed aspects.

RESUMO Objetivo: investigar o perfil e a percepção de fonoaudiólogos do Nordeste do Brasil, que atuam com crianças com Síndrome Congênita pelo Zika vírus, quanto aos aspectos miofuncionais orofaciais e aos procedimentos de intervenção fonoaudiológica. Métodos: trata-se de estudo transversal, observacional, com análise quanti-qualitativa. O instrumento de coleta de dados tratou-se de um questionárioon-line, que continha 34 questões abrangendo: dados sociodemográficos e questões voltadas para a percepção de fonoaudiólogos no que se refere ao assunto estudado. A amostra foi composta por 23 fonoaudiólogos dos nove estados do Nordeste. Resultados: da amostra, 96% foram mulheres. A maioria dos profissionais apresentava mais de 3 anos de experiência com a Síndrome Congênita pelo Zika Vírus. Na caracterização do sistema estomatognático, os profissionais descreveram maior grau de alteração nos aspectos de postura e mobilidade da musculatura orofacial. Em relação às funções, observou-se maior percepção de alteração na fala e deglutição para líquido e sólido. Conclusão: a maioria dos fonoaudiólogos da pesquisa possuem especialização, com destaque nas áreas de Disfagia e Motricidade Orofacial. Os profissionais afirmaram que a postura e mobilidade da musculatura orofacial são os aspectos mais alterados, assim como as funções de fala e deglutição de sólido e líquido.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to describe the updating of the Observation of Communicative Behavior protocol in the age group from 0 to 72 months. Methods: the Observation of Communicative Behavior protocol was revised and updated, with the insertion of the child development milestones in its various areas, becoming a child development screening tool. Results: the protocol includes 188 items, distributed in 10 age groups from zero to 72 months. The items were organized as follows: from zero to 24 months, divided by quarter (four age groups); from 24 to 36 months per semester (two age groups); and from 36 to 72 months, divided by year (four age groups). The items covered the areas of child development and its main milestones. The score is registered in the protocol and a score of 0 - does not perform the action or behavior, 1 - performs the action in an atypical, restricted manner or it is being acquired, 2 - properly performs the action/behavior, is attributed to the response, after analysis. Few materials and a structured environment are needed to apply the protocol. Conclusion: the updating of the Observation of Communicative Behavior protocol has a direct impact on the initial assessment of children with or without suspected delay in child development and should be used by health professionals in monitoring typical child development (routine) or in cases where the child receives specific stimulation.

RESUMO Objetivo: descrever a atualização do protocolo Observação do Comportamento Comunicativo na faixa etária de 0 a 72 meses. Métodos: a Observação do Comportamento Comunicativo foi revisada e atualizada, com inserção de marcos do desenvolvimento infantil em suas diversas áreas, tornando-se um instrumento de triagem do desenvolvimento infantil. Resultados: o protocolo contempla 188 itens, distribuídos em 10 faixas etárias: de zero a 72 meses. Os itens foram organizados da seguinte forma: de zero a 12 meses, divididos por trimestre (quatro faixas etárias); de 12 a 24 meses, por semestre (duas faixas etárias); e, de 24 a 72 meses, divididos por ano (quatro faixas etárias). Os itens contemplam as áreas do desenvolvimento infantil e seus principais marcos. A pontuação é registrada no próprio protocolo, atribuindo a análise da resposta em 0 - não realiza a ação ou comportamento; 1 - realiza de maneira atípica, restrita ou está em aquisição; 2 - realiza adequadamente a ação/comportamento. São necessários poucos materiais para aplicação e ambiente estruturado. Conclusão: o protocolo Observação do Comportamento Comunicativo traz impacto direto na avaliação inicial de crianças com ou sem suspeita de atraso no desenvolvimento infantil e deve ser utilizado por profissionais da saúde, no acompanhamento do desenvolvimento infantil típico (rotina) ou em casos em que a criança recebe estimulação específica.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to verify the association between central auditory skills and speech disorders related to velopharyngeal dysfunction. Methods: forty-five children, with repaired non-syndromic cleft lip and palate or cleft lip only, aged 7-11 years old, were divided into three groups: G1 (n=15), children with hypernasality, nasal air emission, and compensatory articulations; G2 (n=15), children with hypernasality and nasal air emission, but without compensatory articulations; and G3 (n=15), children without hypernasality, nasal air emission, and compensatory articulations. The medical records of all participants were analyzed to verify the eligibility criteria and obtain speech assessments, and then, they were submitted to an assessment of central auditory skills. Statistical analysis comprised descriptive and chi-square test with a significance level of 5%. Results: G1 presented a higher occurrence of impairment in central auditory skills differing from the other groups, particularly in the temporal ordering and binaural integration skills. A significant difference was observed among groups in temporal ordering ability. No significant association was found between the use of specific types of compensatory articulations and impaired auditory skills. Conclusion: there was an association between changes in temporal ordering auditory skills and binaural integration in children with velopharyngeal dysfunction, regardless of the presence or type of compensatory articulation found.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to investigate genetic recurrence and molecular markers for dyslexia in two candidate genes in the Brazilian population. Methods: a cross-sectional, case-control, observational study, with five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) studied in DYX1C1 and KIAA0319 genes in 86 subjects with dyslexia and 66 controls, matched for gender and age. SNPs were genotyped using the polymerase chain reaction technique in real time, and distribution of genotypic and allelic frequencies between the groups was analyzed. Results: it was determined that 68% of the subjects with dyslexia present a family history of learning difficulties. The DYX1C1 gene did not demonstrate an association with dyslexia, which was found regarding the rs9461045 marker of the KIAA0319 gene. Conclusion: a family history of learning problems was present in more than two-thirds of the group with dyslexia, indicating that this is an important risk factor. An association with dyslexia in the rs9461045 marker was noted, making the study the first one to show an association of the KIAA0319 gene with dyslexia, in Latin America.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to characterize clinical-neurological factors and the functional swallowing capacity of patients with malignant infarction submitted to decompressive craniectomy during the hospital stay. This retrospective, descriptive, observational study was conducted between January 2020 and December 2021. The following data regarding up to eight stages were extracted for descriptive analysis: age, location of the lesion, level of awareness according to the Glasgow Coma Scale, neurological impairment according to the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, and the functional swallowing capacity according to the Functional Oral Intake Scale. Data on five patients were collected, with a mean of 0.2 days for the first neurological assessment. Decompressive craniectomy was performed in a mean of 2 days after admission. The speech-language-hearing assessment occurred in a mean of 8.2 days, and the speech-language-hearing discharge took a mean of 35.4 days. The neurological impairment score remained the same as in the first neurological assessment after decompressive craniectomy, with a mean score of 16.6. The functional swallowing capacity was the same in the first assessment after decompressive craniectomy, on FOIS level 1, improving considerably by the discharge, with a mean level of 4.8. It is concluded that clinical-neurological factors can interfere with the functional swallowing capacity, although they did not hinder either speech-language-hearing treatment or their evolution to a full oral diet during the hospital stay.

RESUMO O objetivo do presente trabalho é caracterizar fatores clínicos-neurológicos e capacidade funcional de deglutição de pacientes com Acidente Vascular Cerebral Isquêmico Maligno submetidos a craniectomia descompressiva durante internação hospitalar. Trata-se de um estudo observacional, descritivo e retrospectivo, realizado de janeiro de 2020 a dezembro de 2021. Os dados foram extraídos em até oito momentos, incluindo idade, local da lesão, nível de consciência de acordo com Glasgow, comprometimento neurológico pelo National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale e capacidade funcional de deglutição pela Escala Funcional de Ingestão por Via Oral. Realizou-se análise descritiva. Foram coletados dados de 5 pacientes sendo a média de tempo para primeira avaliação neurológica de 0,2 dias. A realização da craniectomia descompressiva levou em média 2 dias após admissão. Avaliação fonoaudiológica ocorreu, em média, 8,2 dias e alta fonoaudiológica levou, em média, 35,4 dias. O comprometimento neurológico manteve-se na pontuação da primeira avaliação neurológica pós-craniectomia descompressiva, média de 16,6. A capacidade funcional de deglutição foi a mesma na primeira avaliação pós-craniectomia descompressiva, com nível 1 na FOIS, melhorando consideravelmente, com média de nível 4,8, na alta. Concluiu-se que fatores clínicos-neurológicos podem interferir na capacidade funcional de deglutição, contudo não limitaram a atuação fonoaudiológica e evolução com dieta oral exclusiva na internação hospitalar.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to implement and assess hearing health interventions for school students, using Dangerous Decibels® Program activities in partnership with the Young Doctor Project, approaching noise-induced hearing loss prevention. Methods: the study encompassed 41 students, aged 12 to 14 years, from two schools in inland São Paulo and a social institution for public school students. Activities were based on the Young Doctor Project and the Dangerous Decibels® Brazil Program. The students answered a questionnaire administered in three situations: before the intervention (pre), right after the intervention (post), and 4 months after the intervention. The ANOVA, Friedman (p < 0.001), and Tukey´s (p < 0.05) statistical tests were used. Results: the 41 students who participated in the program were protagonists of knowledge, spreading the content they learned to another 954 students in the three schools through cultural workshops. The analysis of program effectiveness revealed improved results right after the intervention and 4 months afterward. Conclusion: combining these two programs encouraged the protagonism of young people to increase their involvement with the community. Moreover, the students changed their attitude toward potentially dangerous sounds.

RESUMO Objetivo: implementar e avaliar intervenções em saúde auditiva para escolares, utilizando as atividades do Programa Dangerous Decibels ®, em parceria com o Projeto Jovem Doutor, abordando aspectos preventivos da perda auditiva induzida por níveis de pressão sonora elevados. Métodos: participaram do estudo 41 escolares, com idade entre 12 e 14 anos, de duas escolas no interior de São Paulo e uma Instituição Social direcionada a estudantes de escolas públicas. As atividades foram baseadas no Projeto Jovem Doutor e no programa Dangerous Decibels ® Brasil. Os escolares responderam a um questionário aplicado em três situações, antes da intervenção (pré), logo após a intervenção (pós) e quatro meses após a intervenção. Foram utilizados os testes estatísticos ANOVA, FRIEDMAN; p<0,001 e TUKEY; p<0,05. Resultados: os 41 escolares que participaram do programa atuaram como protagonistas do conhecimento, multiplicando o conteúdo aprendido através das oficinas culturais, envolvendo 954 escolares das três escolas. Ao analisar a eficácia do programa, observou-se melhora nos resultados logo após a intervenção e, também, após 4 meses. Conclusão: a união desses dois programas incentivou o protagonismo juvenil, objetivando o maior envolvimento dos estudantes junto da comunidade. Foi possível observar a mudança de atitude dos escolares frente aos sons potencialmente perigosos.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to analyze the impact of neck pain, neck mobility, and body mass index on teachers’ postural control. Methods: a cross-sectional study with 54 state public school teachers, 68.5% (n = 37) being females, with a mean age of 46.5 ± 9.3 years. Data were collected with the following instruments: Craniocervical Dysfunction Index (Brazilian version), force platform in bipedal and semi-tandem stance, visual analog scale, cervical mobility index, and body mass index. Data were analyzed with nonparametric statistics and multiple linear regression; the significance level was set at p<0.05, with 95% confidence intervals. Results: teachers with neck pain and severely impaired neck mobility had greater postural control changes in the semi-tandem stance. In the bipedal stance, those with mild mobility changes and neck pain had a smaller total displacement. Obese teachers had a smaller movement amplitude in the anteroposterior and mediolateral directions. Conclusion: teachers presented with neck pain and severely impaired neck mobility had a worse postural control. Obese teachers had a smaller total amplitude in both movement directions.

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar o impacto da cervicalgia, mobilidade cervical e índice de massa corporal no controle postural de professores. Métodos: estudo transversal com 54 professores da rede estadual de ensino, com média de idade de 46,5 ± 9,3 anos, dos quais: 68,5% (n = 37) eram do sexo feminino. A coleta de dados teve como base os seguintes instrumentos: Craniocervical Dysfunction Index (versão brasileira), plataforma de força na posição bipodal e semitandem, escala visual analógica, índice de mobilidade cervical e índice de massa corporal. Para análise dos dados, foi utilizada estatística não paramétrica e análise de regressão linear múltipla, com nível de significância p<0,05 e intervalo de confiança de 95%. Resultados: os professores com cervicalgia e comprometimento severo da mobilidade cervical tiveram maior alteração do controle postural na posição semitandem. Na posição bipodal, aqueles com leve alteração da mobilidade e dor cervical apresentaram menor deslocamento total, assim como professores obesos demostraram menor amplitude de movimento nas direções anteroposterior e médio-lateral. Conclusão: os professores com cervicalgia e comprometimento severo da mobilidade cervical tiveram pior controle postural. Já os obesos apresentaram menor amplitude total em ambas as direções do movimento.

ABSTRACT This paper aimed to investigate the contribution of speech-language-hearing teletherapy to the development of communication skills in children with autism spectrum disorders during the coronavirus-19 pandemic. This qualitative, interventive, longitudinal case series study analyzed data from the medical records of patients, based on instructions given to their families via speech-language-hearing teletherapy during social isolation. It was part of a public outreach program conducted in a speech-language-hearing teaching clinic, aiming to analyze results in the field of language. All children progressed in various aspects, such as the development of communication skills, expanded vocabulary, increased naming and asking, morphosyntactic development, and advancements in the use of augmentative and alternative communication. Also, shared attention and eye contact increased, the interaction with the family improved, and inadequate behaviors decreased; there was greater autonomy in daily routine and greater attention during activities; increased interest in toys during play and longer and more frequent playing, associated with decreased screen time. In conclusion, the results demonstrated progress in communication and social interaction after the speech-language-hearing teletherapy for children presented with autism spectrum disorders during the coronavirus-19 pandemic.

RESUMO Esse trabalho teve por objetivo investigar a contribuição da Telefonoaudiologia no desenvolvimento das habilidades comunicacionais de crianças com Transtorno do Espectro do Autismo durante a pandemia da Coronavírus-19. Trata-se de um estudo interventivo, longitudinal de abordagem qualitativa, do tipo série de casos, realizado por meio da análise de dados dos prontuários de pacientes atendidos, a partir das orientações às famílias, via telefonoaudiologia, passadas durante o período de isolamento social, em um projeto de extensão, realizado em uma clínica-escola de Fonoaudiologia, buscando analisar os resultados obtidos na área da linguagem. Foi observada evolução em todas as crianças, em diversos aspectos, como desenvolvimento das habilidades comunicativas com ampliação do vocabulário, aumento de nomeações e solicitações, desenvolvimento morfossintático e avanços no uso da Comunicação Aumentativa e Alternativa. Além do aumento na atenção compartilhada e no contato visual, houve melhora na interação com os familiares e redução dos comportamentos inadequados; maior autonomia na rotina diária e maior atenção durante as atividades; aumento do interesse pelos brinquedos durante a brincadeira e ampliação da frequência e do tempo do brincar, associado à diminuição do uso de telas. Concluiu-se que os resultados demonstraram avanços na comunicação e na interação social, após o teleconsulta fonoaudiológico para crianças com Transtorno do Espectro do Autismo durante a pandemia da Coronavírus-19.
