Resumo O objetivo deste ensaio é refletir sobre o lugar da diferença na pesquisa científica acerca da Doença de Alzheimer (DA), que se torna um problema de saúde pública crescente à medida que a população brasileira envelhece. Nesse cenário, nossa intenção é explorar a questão de gênero na sua relação com outros marcadores sociais, a fim de compreender a heterogeneidade de experiências e percepções em relação à doença. Para isso, foi feita uma vasta revisão bibliográfica e realizada uma breve pesquisa online na plataforma PubMed. Embora grande parte das pesquisas apontem uma incidência maior da Doença de Alzheimer em mulheres, questões como raça/etnia, classe social e outras condicionantes não têm sido apropriadas pelos pesquisadores. No que tange à prevenção da doença, as diferenças são pouco ou nada consideradas.

Abstract The aim of this essay is to reflect about the place of difference in scientific research on Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), which becomes a growing public health problem as the Brazilian population ages. In this scenario, our intention is to explore gender issues in relation to other social markers, to understand the heterogeneity of experiences and perceptions regarding the disease. To this do so, we carried out extensive bibliographic review and conducted brief online research on the PubMed platform. Although many studies indicate that Alzheimer’s Disease has a higher incidence in women, issues such as race/ethnicity, social class, and other conditions have not been appropriated by researchers. Regarding prevention of the disease, differences are little or not considered.

Resumo Este artigo investiga em que medida certos corpos materializam as normas a partir de intervenções das tecnociências contemporâneas. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo em que foram construídas três narrativas de pessoas que vivenciaram transformações corporais drásticas por meio de restrições alimentares, atividades físicas excessivas ou cirurgias bariátricas. Essas histórias foram tensionadas com literatura antropológica sobre o corpo e com as elaborações de teóricas feministas, especialmente Judith Butler e Donna Haraway, de forma a fomentar um debate a respeito dos efeitos individuais e coletivos da autoprodução de novas subjetividades. Evidencia-se, finalmente, que, no processo de materialização da “normalidade”, as fronteiras entre a natureza e a técnica são borradas e os corpos podem se abrir tanto para novos constrangimentos como para novos projetos de liberdade em que nem suas supostas essências nem suas aparências estão mais em jogo.

Abstract In this article, we investigate to what extent some bodies materialize the norms from interventions of contemporary technosciences. It is a qualitative study in which three narratives of people who experienced drastic bodily transformations through dietary restrictions, excessive physical activities or bariatric surgeries were constructed. These stories were juxtaposed with anthropological literature about the body and with the elaborations of feminist theorists, especially Judith Butler and Donna Haraway, in order to foster a debate about the individual and collective effects of the self-production of new subjectivities. Finally, it is evident that, in the process of materializing “normality”, the boundaries between nature and technique are blurred and bodies can open up to new constraints as well as to new projects of freedom, in which neither their supposed essences, nor their appearances are at stake anymore.

RESUMO O trabalho teve como objetivo discutir os efeitos da pandemia da Covid-19, causada pelo novo coronavírus (2019-nCoV), às condições de trabalho e de saúde das mulheres, com foco nas dinâmicas de gênero. A reflexão proposta partiu da literatura sobre saúde das mulheres e epidemias, valendo-se dos dados sobre a condição das mulheres durante a pandemia da Covid-19, no ano de 2020, sobretudo no Brasil, mas também em demais países com diferentes características socioeconômicas. A análise expôs três aspectos centrais em que a pandemia da Covid-19 afeta a saúde das mulheres, a saber: a exposição das profissionais do cuidado, trabalhadoras da saúde e domésticas; os direitos reprodutivos; e a violência doméstica. O trabalho contribuiu para a compreensão dos modos como epidemias podem expor acentua- damente a saúde das mulheres, seja nas precárias condições de trabalho, na ameaça de suspensão de seus direitos na atenção à saúde ou no aumento da violência no contexto de isolamento social.

ABSTRACT The study aimed to discuss the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, caused by the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV), specifically on women’s work and health conditions, with a focus on gender dynamics. The discussion was based on women health and epidemics literature, data about the condition of women during the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2020, especially in Brazil, but also in other countries with different socioeconomic characteristics. The analysis exposed three central aspects in which the Covid-19 pandemic affects women’s health: the exposure of care professionals, health workers, and domestic workers; reproductive rights; and domestic violence. The work contributed to understand the ways in which epidemics can expose the health of women, whether in precarious working conditions, in the suspension of their rights in health care, or in the increase of violence in the context of social isolation.

ABSTRACT Caesalpinia ferrea var. Leyostachia and Cassia grandis are important species for obtaining and propagating seedlings for reforestation in degraded areas, but rare is the information about those species in the literature. This study was carried out to estimate the genetic diversity between individuals of C. ferrea and between individuals of C. grandis. The enzymes used were the following: Alcohol Dehydrogenase, Esterase, Glutamate Oxaloacetate Transaminase, Peroxidase and Glucose Dehydrogenase. Only three of the systems presented activities and the Esterase system presented a higher number of bands. RESUMO A Caesalpinia ferrea var. leyostachia (pau-ferro) e Cassia grandis (canafístula) apresentam importância para obtenção de mudas para recuperação de áreas degradadas, porém pouco se tem na literatura sobre estas espécies. Objetivando-se identificar diferenças em perfis enzimáticos destes indivíduos foi realizado o presente trabalho. Realizou-se extração de enzimas Álcool Desidrogenase, Esterase, Glutamato Oxaloacetato Transaminase, Peroxidase e Glucose Desidrogenase. Em apenas três dos sistemas observou-se atividade, sendo a Esterase a que apresentou maior número de bandas.
