Abstract Paper aims This paper presents an analysis of professional education programs on Supply Chain Management (SCM). The purpose of this study is to analyze six professional education programs offered by the leading SCM associations, including Advanced Certified Professional Forecaster, Certified Production and Inventory Management, Certified Professional in Supply Management, and Supply Chain Professional. The analysis of professional education programs shall consider relevant criteria. There are multiple relevant criteria; some are tangible, and some others are intangible. Originality In 2007 Prof. Lummus researched professional education influence to SCM practices. This work is an extension of Prof. Lummus research, updating it, including more professional education programs and analyzing with AHP. Research method This paper applied the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), a method for multi-criteria analysis, considering individual benefits and organizational benefits as the two main criteria, and professional education programs as alternatives. Main findings The two major contributions of this paper are: first, it presents individual benefits and organizational benefits that must be met by professional education programs; second, it evaluates the programs from multiple perspectives. Implications for theory and practice The approach proposed evaluates both tangible and intangible benefits of the programs.

Abstract The recent years has arisen a global discussion in relation with how to incorporate sustainability at a business level. Corporate sustainability is a multidimensional concept, is the translation of Sustainable Development concept at a business level. Sustainability in organizations must be managed and assessed by decision makers, for that reason a multi-criteria sustainability performance measurement is necessary. The aim of this paper is combine different important tools that helps to make operative corporate sustainability and sustainability performance measurement in Cuban organizations. The combination of Sustainability Balanced Scorecard, multi-criteria decisions models like: Analytic Network Process, and Matrix of Sustainable Strategic Alignment, can help managers in sustainability performance measurement and assessment. The result of this paper focus in a Corporate Sustainability Measurement Network design as a first approach for further sustainability performance measurement systems development emphasizing in multi-criteria analysis.

O objetivo desta pesquisa é mostrar a aplicação dos métodos Desirabilitye Simplex,voltados à otimização do processo de têmpera e revenimento, em arames de aço trefilados SAE 9254. Os dados foram gerados a partir da aplicação da metodologia delineamento de experimentos, com análise em blocos, e os resultados revelaram que todas as variáveis consideradas no estudo têm influência significativa na obtenção das propriedades mecânicas investigadas. A modelagem estatística foi realizada através da aplicação do método de regressão linear múltipla, que permitiu a obtenção de modelos que representam adequadamente o processo em questão. Aos resultados das variáveis resposta limite de resistência à tração, estricção e dureza foram aplicados os métodos Desirability e Simplex e o processo foi otimizado na melhor condição de ajustes das variáveis de entrada em relação às suas especificações.

The objective of this research is to show the application of the desirability method and simplex method in aiming to optimize the process of quench hardening and tempering in SAE 9254 draw steel wires. The values were generated by applying the methodology design of experiments with the block analysis, and the results revealed that all the variables used in the study have a significant influence on obtaining the mechanical properties investigated. For the statistical modeling, the multiple linear regression method was applied to obtain models that adequately represent the case in question. The results of the response variables (tensile strength, yield point and hardness) were submitted to the desirability method and the simplex method, and the process was optimized by adjusting the variables of the input in relation to the given specifications.

The performance of public health systems is an issue of great concern. After all, to assure people's quality of life, public health systems need different kinds of resources. Balanced Scorecard provides a multi-dimensional evaluation framework. This paper presents the application of the Analytic Network Process and Balanced Scorecard in the performance evaluation of a public health system in a typical medium-sized Southeastern town in Brazil.

Fábrica digital é um conceito que melhora a colaboração entre os processos de desenvolvimento do produto. Apesar dos benefícios trazidos por esse conceito, falhas podem ocorrer na sua implantação. Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar os fatores críticos de sucesso na implantação de um projeto de fábrica digital em uma empresa brasileira. Esses fatores foram identificados por meio de uma pesquisa exploratória em implantações de sistemas como o Enterprise Resource Planning e Product Lifecycle Management, entre outros. Depois disso, os fatores foram priorizados, utilizando-se os métodos Delphi e Analytic Hierarchy Process, por profissionais de empresas que implantam projetos de fábrica digital, no Brasil e exterior. Foram identificados nove fatores, sendo os cinco de maior prioridade: apoio e comprometimento contínuo da alta gerência; abrangente reengenharia do negócio; parceiros com conhecimento e experiência; participação e comprometimento do usuário; e adequado papel do líder do projeto.

A Digital Factory is a concept which improves the collaboration among product development processes. Despite the benefits brought by this concept, failures may occur in its implementation. This paper aims to present the Critical Success Factors in the implementation of a Digital Factory project in a Brazilian company. These factors were identified by an exploratory survey on the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning and Product Lifecycle Management among other systems. Following this identification, the factors were prioritized using the Delphi Method and the Analytic Hierarchy Process; this evaluation was carried out by professionals from enterprises which implement Digital Factory projects, in Brazil and abroad. Nine factors were identified. The five main priorities were: Continuous Support and Commitment from Top Management; Comprehensive Business Reengineering; Skilled and Experienced Partners; Participation and Commitment , of Users; and Appropriate Role of the Project Manager.
