Serial numbers are marks present on several day-to-day objects, created by manufacturers for purposes such as quality control, product tracking and to prevent counterfeiting. In the case of firearms, these characters can be obliterated or damaged by natural processes or intentionally by criminals to prevent positive identification of stolen property. One non-destructive method employed by crime laboratories for the restoration of obliterated characters is the magnetic particle method. The present work aims to study the synthesis and application of waste-made magnetic nanoparticles in the recovery of adulterated markings. A set of analytical-grade materials and metallic waste magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized for comparison purposes. Chemical characterization tests by X-ray fluorescence, morphological tests by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and magnetization tests by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) were performed. The efficacy of the synthesized nanoparticles was tested on 1020 steel plates previously engraved and adulterated by sanding. Both homemade magnetic nanoparticles demonstrated superior performance compared to commercial magnetic particles. The application of homemade magnetic particles, especially using waste as the source of production, decreases the cost of the material and is environmentally friendly. ABSTRACT The limited temporal completeness and taxonomic accuracy of species lists, made available in a traditional manner in scientific publications, has always represented a problem. These lists are invariably limited to a few taxonomic groups and do not represent up-to-date knowledge of all species and classifications. In this context, the Brazilian megadiverse fauna is no exception, and the Catálogo Taxonômico da Fauna do Brasil (CTFB) (http://fauna.jbrj.gov.br/), made public in 2015, represents a database on biodiversity anchored on a list of valid and expertly recognized scientific names of animals in Brazil. The CTFB is updated in near real time by a team of more than 800 specialists. By January 1, 2024, the CTFB compiled 133,691 nominal species, with 125,138 that were considered valid. Most of the valid species were arthropods (82.3%, with more than 102,000 species) and chordates (7.69%, with over 11,000 species). These taxa were followed by a cluster composed of Mollusca (3,567 species), Platyhelminthes (2,292 species), Annelida (1,833 species), and Nematoda (1,447 species). All remaining groups had less than 1,000 species reported in Brazil, with Cnidaria (831 species), Porifera (628 species), Rotifera (606 species), and Bryozoa (520 species) representing those with more than 500 species. Analysis of the CTFB database can facilitate and direct efforts towards the discovery of new species in Brazil, but it is also fundamental in providing the best available list of valid nominal species to users, including those in science, health, conservation efforts, and any initiative involving animals. RESUMO As inundações sem precedentes de abril a maio de 2024 no Rio Grande do Sul afetaram mais de 90% do estado, deslocando centenas de milhares de pessoas e causando 172 mortes. O fenômeno El Niño Oscilação Sul foi considerado importante para explicar a variabilidade nas chuvas observadas, consistente com pesquisas anteriores que mostram que eventos anteriores de fortes chuvas na área ocorreram durante anos de El Niño. As frentes frias que trazem chuvas permaneceram estacionadas no sul do Brasil, uma vez que não puderam se mover para o centro do Brasil devido ao bloqueio atmosférico com ar quente e seco e às temperaturas mais altas naquela região. A inundação em Porto Alegre foi desencadeada por fortes chuvas na Bacia do Guaíba, com acumulações superiores a 500 mm em 5 dias, levando a níveis recordes de 5,35 m em 5 de maio, valores mais altos que a enchente anterior, em 1941. Além do caráter extremo deste evento, isso contribuiu para os impactos significativos de enchentes em áreas vulneráveis da Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre e municípios próximos. ABSTRACT The unprecedented 2024 April-May floods in the State of Rio Grande do Sul have affected over 90% of the state, displacing hundreds of thousand people and causing 171 deaths. The El Niño Southern Oscillation phenomenon was found to be important to explain the variability in the observed rainfall, consistent with previous research that show previous heavy rainfall events in the area occurred during El Niño years. Cold front fronts bringing rainfall remained stationary over southern Brazil, since they could not move into central Brazil because of atmospheric blocking with warm and dry air and highest temperatures in that region. The flood event in Porto Alegre was triggered by heavy rainfall over the Lake Guaíba Basin, with accumulated surpassing 500 mm in 5 days, leading to record high levels of 5,35 m on May 5, highest that the previous flood in 1941. In addition to the extreme nature of this event, this contributed to the significant impacts of flooding in vulnerable areas of the Porto Alegre Metropolitan Region and nearby municipalities. In this work, cellulose-based composite biofilms doped with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been produced by eco-friendly process. The AgNPs were synthesized from Ilex paraguariensis with an average size of 45 nm, a characteristic plasmon band at 450 nm and zeta potential of -23 mV. The biofilm has been synthesized by casting method, using different volumes of AgNPs suspension with glycerol plasticizing agent (T6-T10) or not (T1-T5). The AgNPs were successfully incorporated into the biofilms, which was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy. The mechanical and optical structural and the antimicrobial properties of the biofilms have been determined. In the presence of AgNPs, the mechanical properties, thermal stability and water vapor barrier of the biofilms have not been altered. However, the addition of glycerol decreased the tensile strength and the modulus of elasticity, in addition to increasing the elongation of the biofilms and the water vapor barrier. The biofilm T10 showed a transmittance of ca. 10%, with high potential to be used as a UV light blocker. Finally, the biofilms doped with AgNPs showed activity against the bacterium Pseudomonas fluorescens. RESUMO: A leptospirose é uma doença que causa impacto econômico e social, pois afeta animais silvestres, domésticos e humanos. É possível que existam peculiaridades na epidemiologia desta doença no bioma Caatinga, Brasil, onde o ambiente é adverso e o agente etiológico, Leptospira spp., requer vias alternativas de transmissão. Considerando que na leptospirose bovina o portador genital é constantemente negligenciado e a falta de relatos sobre o papel dos touros na epidemiologia da síndrome da leptospirose genital bovina (BGL), principalmente em condições semiáridas como no bioma Caatinga, este estudo teve como objetivo investigar touros mantidos em condições do bioma Caatinga como portadores genitais de leptospiras. Amostras do trato urinário (urina, bexiga e rim) e do trato reprodutivo (ducto deferente, cauda do epidídimo e glândula vesicular) foram coletadas de 42 touros abatidos. Teste de soroaglutinação microscópica (SAM), reação em cadeia da polimerase (PCR) e isolamento microbiológico foram incluídos como métodos de diagnóstico. Anticorpos anti-Leptospira spp. foram encontrados em 17 (40,48%) animais, enquanto 26 animais (61,90%) apresentaram pelo menos um órgão ou urina com DNA leptospírico, e 10 animais (23,81%) foram positivos na cultura bacteriológica. As amostras sequenciadas a partir do gene LipL32 apresentaram 99% de similaridade com Leptospira borgpetersenii. Recomenda-se a análise molecular de amostras de ducto deferente e cauda do epidídimo para o diagnóstico de leptospirose genital em touros e, na impossibilidade da coleta desses tecidos, o sêmen pode ser utilizado. Em conclusão, este estudo fornece informações importantes sobre touros do bioma Caatinga, Brasil, como portadores de leptospirose genital. Os resultados indicam que, mesmo em condições ambientais adversas, as leptospiras podem sobreviver e se propagar, principalmente devido à característica de os portadores genitais disseminarem sexualmente espécies adaptadas de Leptospira sem influência de variáveis externas. ABSTRACT: Leptospirosis is a disease that causes economic and social impact, as it affects wild and domestic animals and humans. There may be peculiarities in the epidemiology of this disease in the Caatinga biome, Brazil, where the environment is adverse and the etiologic agent, Leptospira spp., requires alternative transmission routes. Considering that in bovine leptospirosis the genital carrier is constantly neglected and the lack of reports on the role of bulls in the epidemiology of the bovine genital leptospirosis (BGL) syndrome, mainly in semiarid conditions such as Caatinga biome, this study aimed to investigate bulls maintained in Caatinga biome conditions as genital carriers of leptospires. Urinary tract (urine, bladder, and kidney) and reproductive tract (vas deferens, cauda epididymis, and vesicular gland) samples were collected from 42 slaughtered bulls. Microscopic agglutination test (MAT), polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and microbiological isolation were included as diagnostic methods. Anti-Leptospira spp. antibodies were found in 17 (40.48%) animals, while 26 animals (61.90%) had at least one organ or urine with leptospiral DNA, and 10 animals (23.81%) were positive at bacteriological culture. Sequenced samples targeting the LipL32 gene showed 99% similarity with Leptospira borgpetersenii. Molecular analysis of samples from the vas deferens and cauda epididymis is recommended for the diagnosis of genital leptospirosis in bulls and, if it is impossible to collect these tissues, semen can be used. In conclusion, this study provides important information relating to bulls from the Caatinga biome, Brazil, as carriers of genital leptospirosis. The results indicate that, even under adverse environmental conditions, leptospires may survive and propagate, mainly due to the characteristic of genital carriers for the sexually spreading of adapted Leptospira species without influence by external variables. Thus, prevention and control strategies for bovine leptospirosis need to include actions aimed at the genital carrier. Abstract The continental margin off the southeastern Brazilian coast is punctuated by a series of geological-geomorphological features, such as subsurface saline diapirs and pockmarks at the seafloor interface, which evidence the abundant presence of oil and gas in the region. In several of these sites, hydrocarbons can be naturally released into the water column, areas are cold seep areas. These are marked by the presence of oil- and gas-dependent ecosystems, where specific organisms are able to fix carbon from hydrocarbon chemosynthesis. In addition, light hydrocarbon fluid flow through the sediment may build up authigenic carbonates that can be further colonized by cold-water corals, generating large carbonate mounds over geological time, normally positioned at the border of these pockmark features. The present work reports on a multidisciplinary oceanographic cruise carried out in the Santos Basin, SW Atlantic, to seek, map, and collect geological, chemical, and biological data from different deep-sea habitats. The cruise occurred in November 2019 on the R/V Alpha Crucis of the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo (IOUSP). We intended to discover and detail different geomorphological features, characterize free-living and symbiotic microorganisms, determine the chemosynthetic rates in relation to heterotrophic microbial production, and characterize the fauna and study their ecological and evolutionary links within and across ocean basins. All discoveries made during the cruise and their respective results will be presented separately in several papers that comprise this special volume.

The emergence of antibiotic resistance among microbial pathogens is a serious public health problem, resulting in a constant need of discovering new antibiotics. For this purpose, we synthetized and determined the antimicrobial activity of copper (Cu), cobalt (Co), and tin (Sn) complexes coordinated with scorpionate ligand in a tridentate mode against microorganisms of clinical importance. New complexes with the sodium hydrotris(2-mercaptothiazolyl)borate ligand were characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic techniques (UV-vis, IR, 1H and 13C NMR). Moreover, their antimicrobial activity was evaluated using microdilution broth method. Cytotoxicity was determined in Vero cells and the selectivity index (SI) was calculated. The coordination with metals increased the ligand antimicrobial activity, which showed no activity when evaluated alone (MIC>1,080 µM). Cu-complex (1) had activity against Candida albicans and C. krusei, with MICs of 130 and 66 µM, respectively. The compounds had low toxicity on Vero cells and chemo-informatics assays corroborated a low systemic toxic effect. The SI revealed that the compound 1 was 16 times more selective for C. krusei and 8 times more selective for C. albicans in relation to Vero cells. The Cu-complex stands out as a potential prototype for the development of new antifungal agents.

Resumo O objetivo do presente estudo foi detectar Cercopithifilaria bainae e outros patógenos transmitidos por carrapatos e realizar a caracterização molecular do carrapato Rhipicephalus sanguineus s.l. coletado em cães. Carrapatos (n = 432, incluindo 8 larvas, 59 ninfas e 365 adultos) foram amostrados de cães domiciliados (n = 73) residentes no município de Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul (centro-oeste do Brasil). Todos os carrapatos foram identificados morfologicamente como R. sanguineus. O DNA genômico foi extraído em pools (três a cinco carrapatos por animal), seguido pela definição de haplótipos (com base no gene 16S rRNA) e pela investigação de patógenos (Cercopithifilaria sp., Ehrlichia canis, Anaplasma platys, Hepatozoon canis, Babesia vogeli e Rickettsia spp.). Os espécimes coletados foram identificados como haplótipos A e B de R. sanguineus. Foram detectados DNA de Cercopithifilaria bainae (43,83%; 32/73), Ehrlichia canis (24,65%; 18/73), Anaplasma platys (19,17%; 14/73) e Hepatozoon canis (5,47%; 4/73). A identidade dos patógenos foi confirmada por análise de sequência de DNA. O presente estudo confirma a circulação dos haplótipos A e B de R. sanguineus no estado de Mato Grosso do Sul e sua importância como vetor de vários patógenos de interesse veterinário. Finalmente, este é o primeiro relato de C. bainae em carrapatos na região centro-oeste do Brasil.

DNA of Cercopithifilaria bainae (43.83%; 32/73), Ehrlichia canis (24.65%; 18/73), Anaplasma platys (19.17%; 14/73), and Hepatozoon canis (5.47%; 4/73) was detected. The identity of pathogens was confirmed by DNA sequence analysis. The present study confirms the presence of haplotypes A and B of R. sanguineus in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and its importance as a vector of several pathogens of veterinary concern. Finally, this is the first report to identify C. bainae in ticks in the Midwestern region of Brazil.

Garlic has great economic and social importance for the region of Curitibanos (SC). However, a number of factors has hindered production. One of these factors is the high cost of fertilizers, especially the nitrogenous ones, an element of which the crop is highly demanding. To reduce the impacts, the use of PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria), especially fluorescent Pseudomonas to induce plant development and their production has been widely studied. However, little is known about these microorganisms and garlic. Fluorescent Pseudomonas were isolated from rhizosphere of garlic cultivated in soil of the Curitibanos region (SC). Twenty-three isolates were phenotypical and genotypically analyzed. The phosphate solubiliziation, IAA (Indole Acetic Acid) production and Biological Nitrogen Fixation (BNF) in vitro, besides the effect on plant under controlled conditions were evaluated. The phenotypic characteristics matched to those described for the group of fluorescent Pseudomonas. Fifty two percent of isolates solubilized Ca3(PO4)2, 69% presented FBN and 72% produced IAA. Genetically, all the isolates belonged to the genus Pseudomonas and resembled to Pseudomonas kribbensis, P. azotoformans or P. baetica. The strain CBSAL02 induced significant increase at fourth leaf size, having high correlation to the bulbification, suggesting its potential as a growth promoter and, consequently, production.
El ajo tiene una gran importancia económica y social para la región de Curitibanos (SC). Sin embargo, una serie de factores ha impedido la producción. Uno de estos factores es el alto costo de los fertilizantes, especialmente los nitrogenados, un elemento por el cual el cultivo es muy exigente. Para reducir los impactos, se ha estudiado ampliamente el uso de RPCP (Rizobacterias promotoras del crecimiento de las plantas), especialmente Pseudomonas fluorescentes para inducir el desarrollo de las plantas y su producción. Sin embargo, poco se sabe sobre estos microorganismos y el ajo. Las Pseudomonas fluorescentes se aislaron de la rizosfera de ajo cultivado en el suelo de la región de Curitibanos (SC). Veintitrés aislados fueron fenotípicos y genotípicamente analizados. Se evaluaron la solubilización de fosfato, la producción de AAI (ácido acético indol) y la fijación biológica de nitrógeno (FBN) in vitro, además del efecto en la planta bajo condiciones controladas. Las características fenotípicas coinciden con las descritas para el grupo de Pseudomonas fluorescentes. Cincuenta y dos por ciento de los aislados solubilizaron Ca3(PO4)2, 69% presentaron FBN y 72% produjeron AAI. Genéticamente, todos los aislados pertenecían al género Pseudomonas y se parecían a Pseudomonas kribbensis, P. azotoformans o P. baetica. La cepa CBSAL02 indujo un aumento significativo en el tamaño de la cuarta hoja, teniendo una alta correlación con la bulbificación, lo que sugiere su potencial como promotor del crecimiento y, en consecuencia, la producción.

Abstract: Waterborne polyurethanes (WPUs) are interesting materials for coatings when compared to solvent-based polyurethanes, once that reducing the concentration of volatile organic compounds that are harmful for human health and the environment. However, the WPU has low weathering resistance. In order to improve this behavior among others properties, inorganic fillers has been added in these systems. SiO2 particles from various sources, mainly, from agro-industrial waste, as rice husk has attracted the scientific and technological interest. In this study, the accelerated weathering essay was performed in waterborne polyurethane (WPU)/ silica (from rice husk ash) composites in order to evaluate the thermal and physical changes in these materials. These composites were prepared by two distinct methods: in situ polymerization and blending method. The highest resistance to thermal degradation and to accelerated weathering was reached with WPU/silica composites obtained by blending method due the interactions between SiO2 particles and the polymer matrices. Blending method for preparation WPU/silica composites proved to be a simpler and faster method, with no drawback for large scale application.

RESUMO O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da inoculação de fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMA) no crescimento, colonização micorrízica e absorção de P e elementos-traço em leguminosas arbóreas expostas a rejeito de mineração de carvão. Ensaios independentes para as leguminosas Mimosa scabrella Benth. (bracatinga), Mimosa bimucronata (DC.) Kuntze (maricá) e Parapiptadenia rigida (Benth.) Brenan (angico-vermelho) foram conduzidos em casa de vegetação em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com seis tratamentos. Foram avaliados cinco isolados de FMA autóctones de áreas de mineração (Acaulospora colombiana, Acaulospora morrowiae, Dentiscutata heterogama, Rhizophagus clarus e Rhizophagus irregularis), além de um tratamento controle não inoculado, com quatro repetições. Verificou-se que a colonização micorrízica foi superior a 60% para a bracatinga e o maricá, enquanto que, para o angico-vermelho, foi de no máximo 26%. De maneira geral, a inoculação de FMA favoreceu o crescimento das leguminosas arbóreas, atingindo incrementos de até 1430%. A absorção de fósforo foi beneficiada principalmente pela inoculação de A. colombiana, R. irregularis e A. morrowiae. Apesar de se verificar redução nos teores de elementos-traço na parte aérea das plantas, a inoculação de FMA ocasionou incrementos significativos no acúmulo de As, Cu, Zn e Cr para todas as leguminosas avaliadas. Desta forma, os FMA desempenham papel importante para o crescimento de espécies arbóreas em áreas de mineração de carvão, as quais apresentam ambientes pobres, degradados e muitas vezes contaminados.
ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal inoculation in the growth, colonization and absorption of P and trace elements of leguminous trees on coal mine wastes. Independent assays for Mimosa scabrella Benth. (common name bracatinga), Mimosa bimucronata (DC.) Kuntze (maricá) and Parapiptadenia rigida (Benth.) Brenan (angico-vermelho) were carried out in a greenhouse on an entirely casualized experimental delineation composed of six treatments. Five coal mine autochthonous arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal isolates were tested, including Acaulospora colombiana, Acaulospora morrowiae, Dentiscutata heterogama, Rhizophagus clarus and Rhizophagus irregulars, aside from a control treatment, with four replications each. Results show that arbuscular mycorrhizal colonization was greater than 60% for Mimosa species, and up to 26% for Parapiptadenia. Overall, the fungal inoculation promoted better plant growth, with increments of up to 1430%. Phosphorous absorption was favored, especially when inoculation was done with A. colombiana, R. irregularis and A. morrowiae. Even though there was a conclusive reduction in the levels of trace elements in the plant´s shoots, the inoculation with those species of fungi promoted significant increments in the accumulated levels of As, Cu, Zn and Cr for all plant species tested. Therefore, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi play important roles in these poor, degraded and often contaminated environments.

Considering the high interest and commercial value of pigments from microalgae, this study aimed to stablish the best lutein and β-carotene extraction method for Desmodesmus sp., a microalgae with high biomass production. The evaluation was done considering the best solvent or solvent mixture, number of extractions, pre-treatment of dry biomass with acetone, saponification in methanol and ethanol and stability evaluation of the obtained extract. Among achieved results, the best solvent extractor was a hexane:ethanol mixture in a 1:1 (v/v) proportion. In order to obtain maximum yield, the pattern stablished includes six extractions performed for 40 minutes. Stability tests presented that xanthophylls and carotenes pigments were more stable in methanol and that xanthophylls and carotenes pigments were less negatively affected than chlorophylls in the methanolic extract. Chromatographic identification and quantification of pigments from Desmodesmus sp. microalgae revealed that its major constituents are trans-zeaxanthin, chlorophyll b, β-carotene and trans-lutein.

Abstract High copper (Cu) levels in uprooted old vineyard soils may cause toxicity in transplanted young vines, although such toxicity may be reduced by inoculating plants with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of AMF on the plant growth, chlorophyll contents, mycorrhizal colonization, and Cu and phosphorus (P) absorption in young vines cultivated in a vineyard soil contaminated by Cu. Commercial vineyard soil with high Cu levels was placed in plastic tubes and transplanted with young vines, which were inoculated with six AMF species (Dentiscutata heterogama, Gigaspora gigantea, Acaulospora morrowiae, A. colombiana, Rhizophagus clarus, R. irregularis) and a control treatment on randomized blocks with 12 replicates. After 130 days, the mycorrhizal colonization, root and shoot dry matter (DM), height increment, P and Cu absorption, and chlorophyll contents were evaluated. The height increment, shoot DM and chlorophyll contents were not promoted by AMF, although the root DM was increased by R. clarus and R. irregularis, which had the greatest mycorrhizal colonization and P uptake. AMF increased Cu absorption but decreased its transport to shoots. Thus, AMF species, particularly R. clarus and R. irregularis, contribute to the establishment of young vines exposed to high Cu levels.

Fundamento:O remodelamento vascular, alteração dimensional dinâmica frente ao estresse, pode assumir diferentes direções e magnitudes na doença aterosclerótica. As medidas clássicas baseiam-se em referências a distância do segmento-alvo, com risco de comparação inadequada pela seleção de porções vasculares indesejáveis.Objetivo:Explorar um novo método para quantificar remodelamento vascular, baseado na comparação entre um determinado segmento-alvo e suas dimensões normais inferidas.Métodos:Parâmetros geométricos e a composição da placa foram determinados em 67 pacientes usando-se ultrassom intravascular de três vasos com histologia virtual (IVUS-VH). Avaliou-se o remodelamento coronário ao nível da seção transversal (n = 27.639) e da lesão (n = 618) usando-se métrica clássica e um novo algoritmo analítico baseado no índice de remodelamento vascular fracionado (FVRI) que quantifica a alteração total nas dimensões da parede arterial em relação a dimensão normal estimada do vaso. Construiu-se um modelo preditivo para estimar a dimensão normal do vaso para calcular o FVRI.Resultados:De acordo com o novo algoritmo, o padrão de remodelamento “ectásico” foi o menos comum, o remodelamento “completo compensatório” foi observado em metade dos casos, e os tipos “negativo” e “incompleto compensatório” foram detectados nos restantes. Comparada ao esquema tradicional diagnóstico, a classificação baseada no FVRI pareceu melhor discriminar a composição da placa através de IVUS-VH.Conclusão:A análise quantitativa do remodelamento coronário utilizando dimensões do segmento-alvo oferece uma abordagem promissora para avaliar a resposta vascular ao crescimento e à regressão da placa.
Background:Vascular remodeling, the dynamic dimensional change in face of stress, can assume different directions as well as magnitudes in atherosclerotic disease. Classical measurements rely on reference to segments at a distance, risking inappropriate comparison between dislike vessel portions.Objective:to explore a new method for quantifying vessel remodeling, based on the comparison between a given target segment and its inferred normal dimensions.Methods:Geometric parameters and plaque composition were determined in 67 patients using three-vessel intravascular ultrasound with virtual histology (IVUS-VH). Coronary vessel remodeling at cross-section (n = 27.639) and lesion (n = 618) levels was assessed using classical metrics and a novel analytic algorithm based on the fractional vessel remodeling index (FVRI), which quantifies the total change in arterial wall dimensions related to the estimated normal dimension of the vessel. A prediction model was built to estimate the normal dimension of the vessel for calculation of FVRI.Results:According to the new algorithm, “Ectatic” remodeling pattern was least common, “Complete compensatory” remodeling was present in approximately half of the instances, and “Negative” and “Incomplete compensatory” remodeling types were detected in the remaining. Compared to a traditional diagnostic scheme, FVRI-based classification seemed to better discriminate plaque composition by IVUS-VH.Conclusion:Quantitative assessment of coronary remodeling using target segment dimensions offers a promising approach to evaluate the vessel response to plaque growth/regression.
