Abstract Introduction: In Mexico, cardiac rehabilitation (CR) as an interdisciplinary intervention with therapeutic impact in patients with heart disease is growing. There is the need to know actual conditions of CR in our country. Objectives: The objective of this National Registry is to follow-up those existing and new CR units in Mexico through the comparison between the two previous registries, RENAPREC-2009 and RENAPREC II-2015 studies. This is a descriptive study focused on diverse CR activities such as assistance training, and certification of health professionals, barriers, reference, population attended, interdisciplinarity, permanence over time, growth prospects, regulations, post-pandemic condition, integrative characteristics, and scientific research. Results: Data were collected from 45 CR centers in the 32 states, 75.5% are private practice units, 67% are new, 33% were part of RENAPREC II-2015, and 17 have continued since 2009. With a better distribution of CR units along the territory, the median reference of candidates for CR programs is 9% with a significant reduction into tiempo of enrollment to Phase II admission (19 ± 11 days). Regarding to previous registries, the coverance of Phases I, II, and III is 71%, 100%, and 93%, respectively; and a coverance increases in evaluation, risk stratification, and prescription, more comprehensive attendance and prevention strategies. Conclusions: CR in Mexico has grown in the past 7 years. Even there is still low reference and heterogeneity in specific processes, there are strengths such as interdisciplinarity, scientific professionalization of specialists, national diversification, and an official society that are consolidated over time.

ABSTRACT In order to describe the clinical-epidemiological characteristics and medical prescription patterns of patients with first- and second-degree burns who visited three reference hospitals in Lima, a cross-sectional study was carried out to collect data on demographics, medical history, clinical evaluation, and treatment received by 561 participants. The use of antibiotics and moisturizing agents was 64.7% and 4.2% in immediate care centers; and 41.7% and 44.7% in specialized burn-care services. Argenic sulfadiazine was the most commonly used topical antibiotic in immediate care services compared to burned units (80.2% vs. 34.5%). Burn management was more comprehensive in burn services than in immediate care. Also, more than a quarter of the patients who sought emergency care did so within 24 hours of the burn.
RESUMEN Con el objetivo de describir las características clínico-epidemiológicas y los patrones de prescripción médica de pacientes con quemaduras de primer y segundo grado que acudieron a tres hospitales de referencia de Lima, se realizó un estudio transversal donde se recogieron datos demográficos, antecedentes médicos, evaluación clínica y tratamiento recibido en 561 participantes. El uso de antibióticos y de agentes humectantes se dio en 64,7% y 4,2% en los centros de atención inmediata; y en 41,7% y 44,7% en los servicios de atención especializada en quemaduras. La sulfadiazina argéntica fue el antibiótico tópico más utilizado en los servicios de atención inmediata, en comparación con los servicios de quemados (80,2% vs 34,5%). El manejo de quemaduras fue más exhaustivo en los servicios de quemados que en los de atención inmediata. Asimismo, más de un cuarto de los pacientes que acudieron por emergencia lo hicieron luego de 24 horas de ocurrida la quemadura.

The isolation and structure determination of new cyclic peptide alkaloid ixorine, along with five known constituents frangulanine, syringaresinol, cinnamtannin B-1, daucosterol and mannitol from the branches of Ixora brevifolia are described. The cyclic peptide frangulanine is being described for the first time in the Rubiaceae family. The structures were elucidated on their spectral data basis, mainly one- (1H, 13C, DEPT) and two-dimensional (COSY, NOESY, HSQC and HMBC) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and by comparison with data from the literature. The mixture of two cyclopeptide alkaloids showed weak activity against Leishmania amazonensis.

INTRODUCCIÓN:el propósito de este estudio fue determinar el comportamiento de algunos factores que influyen en la estética dental en estudiantes de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Antioquia (F. de O. de la U. de A.), entre 18 y 30 años de edad, de ambos géneros. MÉTODOS: estudio descriptivo-transversal en 203 estudiantes de la F. de O. de la U. de A. Se registraron medidas directas en los seis dientes anteriores maxilares, con un "Pie de rey" digital (Digimatic)® y se tomaron fotografías del tercio inferior de cara. Para el análisis estadístico, se utilizó SPSS 17. Se obtuvieron las medidas descriptivas y, luego de realizar las pruebas de distribución normal, se realizó una prueba t de student para establecer diferencia de medias entre las proporciones ideales de los incisivos laterales. RESULTADOS Y CONCLUSIONES: en los hombres, la Línea Media Facial (LMF) coincidió con la Línea Dentaria Superior en el 61,4% de los casos, y las dentarias entre sí en el 38,6%. En las mujeres, la LMF coincidió con la Línea Dentaria Superior en el 62,25% y las dentarias, entre sí, en el 31,1%. Ningún individuo presentó las proporciones doradas entre el incisivo central y lateral superior. El rango más prevalente de la Proporción Dentaria Individual (PDI) fue el superior al 80%. La longitud promedio del labio superior para mujeres fue de 21,41 mm y del inferior 47,18 mm; para los hombres, el labio superior fue 22,78 mm y el inferior 52,45 mm. La posición del margen gingival del incisivo lateral superior más frecuente fue la incisal, en ambos sexos.
INTRODUCTION: the purpose of this study was to determine the behavior of some factors influencing dental esthetics in male and female students of Universidad de Antioquia School of Dentistry (FOUA for its Spanish initials), aged 18 to 30 years. METHODS:this was a descriptivetransversal study on 203 FOUA students. Direct measurements of the six maxillary anterior teeth were recorded with a digital Vernier caliper (Digimatic)® and the lower third of the face was photographed. The statistical analysis was conducted with SPSS 17. Descriptive measurements were obtained and a Student's t test was performed after testing normal distribution, in order to establish mean differences between the ideal proportions of lateral incisors. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS: in males, the Facial Midline (FML) coincided with the Upper Teeth Line in 61.4% of the cases and both teeth lines coincided with each other in 38.6%. In females, the FML coincided with the Upper Teeth Line in 62.25% and both teeth lines coincided with each other in 31.1%. None of the subjects had the Golden Proportion between central and lateral upper incisors. The most prevalent Individual Tooth Ratio (ITR) range was the one over 80%. The average length of females' upper lip was 21.41 mm and the bottom lip 47.18 mm; in males, the upper lip measured 22.78 mm in average and the bottom lip 52.45 mm. In both sexes, the most frequent position of the upper lateral incisors' gingival margin was the incisal one.

The penetration resistance (PR) is a soil attribute that allows identifies areas with restrictions due to compaction, which results in mechanical impedance for root growth and reduced crop yield. The aim of this study was to characterize the PR of an agricultural soil by geostatistical and multivariate analysis. Sampling was done randomly in 90 points up to 0.60 m depth. It was determined spatial distribution models of PR, and defined areas with mechanical impedance for roots growth. The PR showed a random distribution to 0.55 and 0.60 m depth. PR in other depths analyzed showed spatial dependence, with adjustments to exponential and spherical models. The cluster analysis that considered sampling points allowed establishing areas with compaction problem identified in the maps by kriging interpolation. The analysis with main components identified three soil layers, where the middle layer showed the highest values of PR.
La resistencia a la penetración (RP) es un atributo del suelo que permite identificar zonas con restricciones debido a la compactación, que se traduce en impedancia mecánica para el desarrollo de las raíces y en una menor productividad de los cultivos. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue caracterizar la RP de un suelo agrícola, mediante análisis geoestadístico y multivariado. El muestreo se realizó de manera aleatoria en 90 puntos, hasta una profundidad de 0,60 m. Se determinaron los modelos de distribución espacial de la RP y se delimitaron áreas con problemas de impedancia mecánica de las raíces. La RP presentó distribución aleatoria a 0,55 y 0,60 m de profundidad. La RP en las otras profundidades analizadas mostraron dependencia espacial, con ajustes a modelos exponenciales y esféricos. El análisis jerárquico que consideró puntos de muestreo, permitió establecer zonas con problemas de compactación, identificadas en los mapas obtenidos mediante interpolación por kriging. El análisis de componentes principales permitió identificar tres capas de suelo, donde la capa intermedia fue la que presentó los mayores valores de RP.
