Estudou-se a biologia e a influência da temperatura no desenvolvimento das formas jovens do predador Euborellia annulipes (Lucas). O estudo foi conduzido a 15, 20, 23, 25, 28, 30, 33, e 35ºC, 60 ± 10% UR e fotofase de 14 horas. A viabilidade de ovos variou de 72,5% (a 20°C) a 89,3% (a 28°C). Entretanto, ocorreu 100% de mortalidade dos ovos a 15° e 35°C. O período de incubação dos ovos variou de 6,9 dias (a 33°C) a 18,7 dias (a 20°C). Na fase ninfal, E. annulipes apresentou cinco ínstares, tendendo a diminuir com o aumento da temperatura. As sobrevivências da fase ninfal e do período total (ovo à emergência de adultos) foram mais altas a 28°C (96,0% e 85,7%) e mais baixas a 30°C (66,0% e 51,6%). O tempo de desenvolvimento de ovo à emergência de adultos, para machos e fêmeas com cinco ínstares, variou de 51,5 dias (a 33°C) a 171,3 dias (a 20°C) e de 48,7 dias (30°C) a 161,8 dias (a 20°C), respectivamente.
The biology and influence of temperature on the development of nymphal stages of Euborellia annulipes (Lucas) was studied in growth chambers at 15, 20, 23, 25, 28, 30, 33, and 35°C, 60 ± 10% RH, and 14L:10D photoperiod. The viability of eggs ranged from 72.5% (20°C) to 89.3% (28°C). Temperatures of 15° and 35°C were lethal to eggs. The egg incubation period ranged from 6.9 days (33°C) to 18.7 days (20°C). The number of instars of E. annulipes tended to decrease with the increase of temperature. However, in most cases, the nymphal stage presented five instars. Survival of nymphal stage and overall survival (from egg to adult emergence) were higher at 28°C (96.0 and 85.7%), and lower at 30ºC (66.0 and 51.6%). Developmental times from egg to adult emergences of males and females with five instars ranged from 51.5 days (33°C) to 171.3 days (20°C) and from 48.7 days (30°C) to 161.8 days (20°C), respectively.
