Resumo Valparaíso de Goiás surgiu de um desmembramento do município de Luziânia, em 1995. No Censo de 2010 do IBGE, Valparaíso de Goiás contava com 132.982 habitantes. Em 2015, a estimativa oficial indicou um expressivo crescimento populacional, quando o município atingiu a marca de 153.255 habitantes. O presente artigo analisa o processo de fragmentação regional promovido no curso da integração do território nacional centrada em Brasília. Como elemento central, destacamos o processo de segregação residencial, manifestado neste município goiano, a partir da impossibilidade dos migrantes fixarem residência em Brasília. Nesta perspectiva, investigamos o Programa Minha Casa, Minha Vida, com o objetivo de verificar suas repercussões no processo segregador que, desde a construção de Brasília, afeta drasticamente a vida dos que tiveram a vida polarizada pela nova capital da república.
Abstract Valparaiso de Goias emerged from a dismemberment of the municipality of Luziania, in 1995. In the 2010 Census of IBGE, Valparaiso de Goias had 132,982 inhabitants. In 2015, the official estimate indicated a significant population growth when the municipality reached the 153,255 inhabitants mark. This article analyzes the regional fragmentation process promoted in the course of integration of the national territory centered in Brasilia. As a central element, we highlight the residential segregation process, manifested in this municipality of Goias, from the impossibility of migrants take up residence in Brasilia. In this perspective, we investigated the program Minha Casa, Minha Vida, in order to verify their impact on segregating process, from the construction of Brasilia, dramatically affects the lives of those who had polarized life in the new capital of the republic.
