ABSTRACT The knowledge of the chemical composition of wood enables the understanding of its behavior as raw material for various uses, mainly in the pulp, wood panel and pharmacy industries, besides the fact that it confers preservative activity against biotic and abiotic agents. Within the Eucalyptus genus, the Eucalyptus urophylla presents the highest growth potentiality in relation to the planted area and in function of the resistance to Cryphonectria cubensis fungi, as promoters of eucalypts diseases. The objective of this research was to analyze the possibility to propose a systematic identification model for Eucalyptus genus wood through 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR 13C). Cyclohexane extracts from wood clones of E. urophylla were used due to the differences in chemical displacement of the molecular carbons. The study is also being carried out with other species of the Eucalyptus genus. The results of the NMR 13C showed that the cyclohexane extracts spectra of heartwood were considered the most representative for the study in the E. urophylla clones, due to the largest number of existing spectrum signals. With these results, it was possible to identify a common spectral profile for each region of wood (sapwood, transition zone and heartwood) of E. urophylla species.

RESUMO O conhecimento da composição química da madeira possibilita o entendimento de seu comportamento como matéria-prima para diversos usos, principalmente para a indústria de polpa celulósica, indústria de painéis, além de conferir propriedades preservativas face aos agentes bióticos e abióticos. Dentre as espécies do gênero Eucalyptus, destaca-se o Eucalyptus urophylla por apresentar o maior potencial de crescimento em termos de área plantada e em função da resistência ao fungo Cryphonectria cubensis, causador do cancro do eucalipto. O objetivo da pesquisa em tela foi analisar a possibilidade de propor um modelo sistemático de identificação para madeiras do gênero Eucalyptus por Ressonância Magnética Nuclear do 13C (RMN 13C). Neste trabalho, utilizaram-se os extratos ciclo-hexano de madeiras de clones de E. urophylla, devido a uma vasta diferença em deslocamento químico dos carbonos moleculares. O estudo está sendo aplicado também a outras espécies do gênero Eucalyptus. Os dados de RMN 13C mostraram que os espectros dos extratos ciclo-hexano do cerne foram os mais representativos para o estudo de clones de E. urophylla, devido ao maior número de absorções existentes. Com esses resultados, foi possível traçar o perfil espectral comum para a espécie E. urophylla de cada região (alburno, zona de transição e cerne) da madeira.

Abstract The lignification attenuation process by 2,4-dichlorophenoxiactic (2,4-D) showed efficient to attenuated the lignin metabolism formation. The suspension cells from Eucalyptus urophylla were produced in MS liquid middle supplemented with five different treatments with 2,4-D: (T1: 1 mg/L; T2: 2 mg/L; T3: 4 mg/L; T4: 5 mg/L; T5: 0 mg/L) without antioxidants agent. The infrared and ultraviolet spectrometry were used to determinate of lignin content with cell free of extractive and protein. The treatment 2 with 2 mg/L of 2,4-D provided lowest lignin accumulation (7 mg/L), while in the 5 treatment without 2,4-D was verified the highest lignin content (220 mg/L).

Resumo O processo de atenuação de lignificação por 2,4-D (ácido 2,4-diclorofenoxiacético) mostrou-se eficiente atenuando o metabolismo da formação da lignina. As células em suspensão de Eucalyptus urophylla foram produzidas em meio MS líquido suplementado com cinco diferentes tratamentos de 2,4-D (T1: 1 mg/L; T2: 2 mg/L; T3: 4 mg/L; T4: 5 mg/L; T5: 0 mg/L) sem agentes antioxidantes. Através da espectrometria de infravermelho e de ultravioleta foi verificado que as células acumularam diferentes quantidades de lignina. O tratamento 2 com 2 mg/L de 2,4-D promoveu o menor acúmulo de lignina (7 mg/L), ao contrário do tratamento 5 sem 2,4-D, que apresentou o mais alto teor dessa substância (220 mg/L).

Abstract The objective of this research was to suggest a systematic model of wood identification through metabolomic analysis by 13C NMR, toward a data bank formation. In this work cyclohexane extracts from wood of E. urograndis were used. Four specimes with aproximately 15 years old were colected from differents regions. The data of 13C NMR showed that spectra of hexane extractes from heartwood (DAP), were considered the most representative for the study for the E. urograndis, due to the largest number of existing spectrum signals. After the data it was possible to identify a common spectral profile for each anatomic region of wood (sapwood, transition zone and heartwood) of E. urograndis.

Resumo O objetivo da pesquisa foi propor um modelo sistemático de identificação de madeiras através de análise metabolômica por Ressonância Magnética Nuclear do 13C (RMN 13C) constituindo um banco de dados de 13C. Neste trabalho foram utilizados os extratos obtidos com ciclohexano de madeiras do híbrido E. urograndis. Quatro espécimes com aproximadamente 15 anos de idades foram coletados em diferentes localidades. Os dados de RMN 13C mostraram que os espectros dos extratos ciclohexano da madeira do cerne (DAP) foram os mais representativos para o estudo do E. urograndis devido ao número de absorções verificadas. Com os dados foi possível traçar o perfil espectral comum para o híbrido do E. urograndis de cada região anatômica (alburno, zona de transição e cerne).
