ABSTRACT Purpose: to analyze the impact of neck pain, neck mobility, and body mass index on teachers’ postural control. Methods: a cross-sectional study with 54 state public school teachers, 68.5% (n = 37) being females, with a mean age of 46.5 ± 9.3 years. Data were collected with the following instruments: Craniocervical Dysfunction Index (Brazilian version), force platform in bipedal and semi-tandem stance, visual analog scale, cervical mobility index, and body mass index. Data were analyzed with nonparametric statistics and multiple linear regression; the significance level was set at p<0.05, with 95% confidence intervals. Results: teachers with neck pain and severely impaired neck mobility had greater postural control changes in the semi-tandem stance. In the bipedal stance, those with mild mobility changes and neck pain had a smaller total displacement. Obese teachers had a smaller movement amplitude in the anteroposterior and mediolateral directions. Conclusion: teachers presented with neck pain and severely impaired neck mobility had a worse postural control. Obese teachers had a smaller total amplitude in both movement directions.

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar o impacto da cervicalgia, mobilidade cervical e índice de massa corporal no controle postural de professores. Métodos: estudo transversal com 54 professores da rede estadual de ensino, com média de idade de 46,5 ± 9,3 anos, dos quais: 68,5% (n = 37) eram do sexo feminino. A coleta de dados teve como base os seguintes instrumentos: Craniocervical Dysfunction Index (versão brasileira), plataforma de força na posição bipodal e semitandem, escala visual analógica, índice de mobilidade cervical e índice de massa corporal. Para análise dos dados, foi utilizada estatística não paramétrica e análise de regressão linear múltipla, com nível de significância p<0,05 e intervalo de confiança de 95%. Resultados: os professores com cervicalgia e comprometimento severo da mobilidade cervical tiveram maior alteração do controle postural na posição semitandem. Na posição bipodal, aqueles com leve alteração da mobilidade e dor cervical apresentaram menor deslocamento total, assim como professores obesos demostraram menor amplitude de movimento nas direções anteroposterior e médio-lateral. Conclusão: os professores com cervicalgia e comprometimento severo da mobilidade cervical tiveram pior controle postural. Já os obesos apresentaram menor amplitude total em ambas as direções do movimento.

ABSTRACT Several aspects make nitrocellulose based powders adequate as a solid propellant for rockets and missiles and the prefe rable propellant to be used in firearms and artillery: it produces less smoke and less fouling than other propellants; its burning rate shows a well-defined relation to pressure and the composition of the gaseous mixture resulting from its decomposition by burning can be predicted with relatively high levels of accuracy. This last feature, if coupled with adequate thermodynamic models, leads to a reliable framework for the simulation of internal ballistics and, ultimately, to an efficient design. In this work muscovite was ultrasonically treated to obtain composites with post-industrial wood plastic residues. The muscovite was ultrasonicated for 30 or 60 min and mixed with the polymeric matrix at a constant level of 15% (weight percentage). The composites were prepared in a single-screw extruder and formed into flat films for characterization. SEM images of the ultrasonicated muscovite revealed the occurrence of delamination, while the particle size distribution results suggested a decrease in size with longer sonication time. FTIR spectra also indicated the occurrence of delamination of the material. The composites exhibited a slight increase in density and a large increase in impact resistance of the samples with ultrasonicated muscovite. The XRD of the composites suggested the occurrence of alignment of the mineral in the matrix. The results indicate that ultrasonication is an effective method to improve the interaction and dispersion of muscovite with wood plastic waste to obtain composites.

RESUMO Objetivo: verificar possível associação da perda auditiva com disfonia, hipertensão arterial (HA), diabetes mellitus (DM), doenças da tireoide e queixas de ruído. Métodos: estudo transversal envolvendo 60 professores, média de idade de 47,05 anos. Foi avaliada a audição por meio da Audiometria tonal limiar, a percepção e qualidade vocal com o questionário vocal e a avaliação vocal acústica, enquanto a queixa de ruído e as comorbidades envolvidas foram investigadas com o questionário padronizado. A análise estatística utilizou os testes Ex-act de Mann Whitney, Fisher e regressão linear multivariada. Resultados: houve associação significante entre perda auditiva e DM, HA e doenças da tireoide (ambas p <0,0001), mas não foi encontrada associação entre queixa de ruído e perda auditiva nesta população. A regressão mostrou que as variáveis disfonia (p = 0,0311) e DM (p = 0,0302) são fatores de risco independentes para perda auditiva. Houve correlação entre perda auditiva e as características vocais rugosidade, soprosidade, tensão e ressonância. Conclusão: este estudo demostrou que HA e doenças da tireoide são fatores associados a perda auditiva, além disso a disfonia e DM se constituem em fatores associados independentes para a perda auditiva em professores. Estes resultados mostram a necessidade de políticas direcionadas a promoção da saúde do professor.

ABSTRACT Objective: to verify a possible association between hearing loss and dysphonia, arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, and noise complaints. Methods: a cross-sectional study involving 60 teachers, mean age 47.05 years. Pure-tone threshold audiometry was used to assess hearing, the voice questionnaire and voice acoustic evaluation were used for voice perception and quality, and the standardized questionnaire verified noise complaint and comorbidities. The statistical analysis was conducted with Mann-Whitney and Fisher's exact tests and multivariate linear regression. Results: there was a significant association between hearing loss and diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and thyroid disease (both p <0.0001), but there was no association between noise complaints and hearing loss in this population. The regression showed that dysphonia (p = 0.0311) and diabetes mellitus (p = 0.0302) are independent risk factors for hearing loss. A correlation was found between hearing loss and voice characteristics: roughness, breathiness, tension, and resonance. Conclusion: this study showed that hypertension and thyroid diseases are factors associated with hearing loss. In addition, dysphonia and diabetes mellitus are independent factors associated with hearing loss in teachers. These results show the need for policies aimed at promoting teachers’ health.

RESUMO: A carne de frango é uma das principais fontes de proteína animal do mundo. Pesquisas indicam uma alta taxa de endogamia derivada de uma relativa ausência de subpopulações heterozigotas de frango de diferentes fornecedores. Marcadores moleculares podem fornecer informações para a base genética de frango consumido em áreas rurais, e ajudar a estabelecer um banco de dados de frango para qualidade e garantia do produto. A pesquisa bibliométrica compreende entre 1994 e 2018, a partir de cinco bancos de dados selecionados anteriormente: Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus e Web of Science, usando os seguintes descritores: ‘microssatélites’, ‘SSR’, ‘ISSR’, ‘variabilidade genética’ e ‘diversidade genética’, todos eles associados a resultados de ‘galinha’ e / ou ‘aves’ o que resultou em 66 publicações científicas. As publicações foram então categorizadas de acordo com seus títulos para o uso de marcadores ISSR ou SSR. Eles também foram abordados pelos países, segundo o primeiro autor citado. Os dados das publicações obtidas apontam que os países com grande produção de carnes de frangos são os mais interessados no estudo da diversidade genética dessas espécies. Os marcadores SSR, devido à sua característica mais específica, são frequentemente aplicados à atribuição de diversidade genética, em comparação com o ISSR.

ABSTRACT: Poultry meat is a major source of animal protein in the world. Research indicates a high inbreeding rate derived from a relative absence of heterozygous subpopulations of chicken from different suppliers. Molecular markers can provide information for the genetic basis of chicken consumed in rural areas and help establishing a chicken database for product quality and warranty. The bibliometric research, comprises between 1994 and 2018, from five previously selected databases: Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus and Web of Science, using the following descriptors: ‘microsatellites’, ‘SSR’, ‘ISSR’, ‘genetic variability’ and ‘genetic diversity’, all of them coupled to ‘chicken’ and/or ‘birds’ results in 66 scientific publications. The publications were then categorized according to their titles to the use of ISSR or SSR markers. They were also addressed by countries according first author cited. The publications data appointed that countries with the height production of poultry meat and hens are the most interested in the genetic diversity study of these species. The SSR markers, due to its more specific characteristic, are more frequently applied to genetic diversity assignment, compared to ISSR.

Resumo Os Conselhos Gestores são considerados instrumentos de gestão inovadores e importantes ao exercício da democracia no campo socioambiental. Este artigo buscou integrar a evolução dos marcos regulatórios dos Conselhos Gestores de Unidades de Conservação e a visão de servidores envolvidos nos processos de formulação das normas, a fim de compreender a trajetória de negociação desses processos. Os resultados mostram que a participação social está formalmente garantida em diversos aspectos das normas analisadas, o que representa uma conquista para a gestão ambiental mais democrática e inclusiva de Unidades de Conservação. Ainda assim, foram identificados paradoxos e desafios, relativos a aspectos de representatividade, independência, influência e compartilhamento genuíno de poder em processos de tomada de decisões. Os resultados sociais da participação pressupõem processos contínuos de aprendizagem e negociação, que se refletem no aprimoramento dos arranjos jurídicos analisados.

Abstract Management councils of Protected Areas are an important tool to the exercise of social participation of individuals and groups struggling for social-environmental causes in Brazil’s democracy. This paper aims to integrate the main regulations guiding the social participation in Management Councils of Protected Areas in Brazil and the perception of managers and technicians in order to understand the process of elaboration of the rules, the behind the scenes, and negotiations. Our findings highlight that social participation has been formally ensured in many aspects, revealing democratic advancements in the field of Protected Areas management in Brazil. However, despite remarkable progress, many challenges remain, including aspects of representation, independency, level of influence, and sharing power in decision-making processes. The outcomes of participation are ongoing processes of learning and negotiation, which are reflected in the improvement of the legal arrangements analyzed.

Resumen Los Consejos Gestores han sido considerados instrumentos institucionales de administración, que son innovadores al ejercicio de la democracia brasileña en el campo socio ambiental. Este artículo buscó integrar la evolución de los marcos regulatorios de los consejos gestores de áreas protegidas de Brasil y la visión de servidores involucrados en los procesos de formulación de las normas, a fin de comprender la trayectoria de negociación de esos procesos. Los resultados muestran que la participación social está formalmente garantizada en diversos aspectos de las normas analizadas, lo que debe considerarse una conquista para la gestión de áreas protegidas en Brasil. Sin embargo, se señalan algunas paradojas y desafíos, incluyendo cuestiones de representatividad, independencia, influencia y compartimentos genuinos de poder en la toma de decisiones. Los resultados sociales de la participación presuponen procesos continuos de aprendizaje y negociación, que se reflejan en el perfeccionamiento de los arreglos jurídicos analizados.

Abstract Introduction Physical inactivity is an important risk factor for many aging-related symptoms. Studies suggest that physical activitymay help to relieve tinnitus and headache. Objective To investigate the presence of tinnitus and headache in elderly individuals by associating it with the lack of regular physical activity. Methods A cross-sectional study including elderly individuals who live independently. The practice of physical activity and the complaints of headache and of tinnitus were checked by means of a questionnaire with objective questions. The statistical analysis was performed using the chi-squared test and relative risk, and a multiple logistic regression model was used to determine how well each factor predicted headache while controlling for each of the other factors. Results Based on a sample of 494 subjects, it was found that 213 (43.11%) complained of tinnitus. Among the complainants, 97 (45.53%) practiced physical activity regularly. We have confirmed associations between headache with lack of physical activity among elderly individuals with tinnitus (p = 0.0440). It was also observed that certain factors, such as male gender and tinnitus, are independent factors for the complaint of headache. Conclusion We have found that headache could be a symptom related to the lack of regular physical activity among elderly individuals with tinnitus.

Resumo Este artigo analisa o processo de elaboração doprotocolo de monitoramento participativo da pesca artesanal da comunidade de Tarituba, Paraty, RJ e discute os entraves à sua implementação. Este protocolo visou integrar conhecimento local, técnico e científico, sob a perspectiva de Gestão da Pesca com Enfoque Ecossistêmico, experimentando um método pioneiro no Brasil, SocMon.O monitoramento - parte de um Termo de Compromisso (TC) -visa a sustentabilidade socio-ecológica da pesca local, buscando solucionar conflitos resultantes da restrição a essa atividade. O SocMon mostrou-se uma ferramenta útil para expandir o diálogo entre gestores epescadores, e entre os próprios pescadores.Ao valorizar o conhecimento local, oprocesso contribuiu para fortalecer um processo colaborativo e a legitimidade doTC, minimizando alguns conflitos entre as partes.Porém, a morosidadegovernamental gerou frustação e desconfiança por parte dos pescadores podendo comprometer processos participativos futuros.

Abstract This paper aims to describe and analyze the design of the participatory monitoring protocol of Tarituba, a fishing community in Southern Brazil, and to discuss the setbacks for its implementation. The protocol aimed to integrate fishers’ scientific and technical knowledge under the ecosystem approach to fisheries, employing a pioneering method prevalent in the Brazilian coastal region: The Global Socioeconomic Monitoring Initiative for Coastal Management (SocMon). Monitoring goals lie in the socioecological sustainability of local fisheries and seek to solve conflicts resulting from fishing restriction due to the establishment of a Protected Area. SocMon was a useful tool to improve communication between and among fishers and managers. The legitimacy of the process was reinforced by participation of the fishers; however, the long waiting period preceding the implementation of the jointly agreed upon term caused frustration and mistrust amongst fishers, compromising future participation.

Resumen Este artículo tiene como objetivo describir y analizar el protocolo de monitoreo participativo de la pesca artesanal de la comunidad Tarituba, Paraty, RJ y discutir los obstáculos para su aplicación. Este protocolo buscó integrar el conocimiento de los pescadores, técnico y científico, bajo el enfoque ecosistémico de la pesca, utilizando un método nuevo para la costa brasileña: SocMon (Iniciativa Global de Monitoreo Socioeconómico para la gestión costera). Los objetivos establecidos buscan la sostenibilidad de las pesquerías y la resolución de los conflictos provocados por restricciones a la pesca. La participación de los pescadores favoreció la legitimidad del proceso. El SocMon se mostró una herramienta útil para adaptar reglasimplementadas sin participación y para mitigar conflictos ambientales entreadministradores y los pescadores. Sin embargo, la ralentización del proceso genera frustración y desconfianza por parte de los pescadores, comprometiendo futuros procesos de gestión participativa.

Abstract Introduction Functional disorders of the craniocervical region affect 77.78% of Brazilian teachers. Among the most common instruments used to assess craniocervical disorders in a detailed and objective way, none had been translated to Brazilian Portuguese and adapted to Brazilian culture. Objectives To translate to Brazilian Portuguese and to culturally adapt the Craniocervical Dysfunction Index (CDI). Method The first phase of the study consisted of the translation, synthesis, backtranslation, and review of the contents by a committee of experts, who developed a trial version and sent all the steps to the original author. The trial version was applied to 50 teachers of an institution. The reliability and internal consistency were evaluated by Cronbach α. For the validation, the Brazilian Portuguese version of the CDI was correlated with the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) domains for cervicalgia and evaluated by Spearman ρ. Result Some expressions were adapted to the Brazilian culture. Among the participants who did not report neck pain in the VAS, 84.21% suffered from craniocervical dysfunction acording to the CDI. Among the participants who reported neck pain in the VAS, 100% suffered from craniocervical dysfunction according to the CDI. The CDI showed good internal consistency and satisfactory reliability measured by Cronbrach α (α = 0.717). There was a strong correlation between the CDI and the VAS score (ρ = 0.735). Conclusion No difficulties were encountered in the translation and back-translation of the CDI, and no problems were observed regarding the trial version developed; therefore, the Brazilian Portuguese version of the CDI is a valid and reliable instrument to evaluate the functional alteration of the craniocervical region.

É fato que hoje o atual cenário da educação brasileira pode ser considerado calamitoso, devido a vários fatores que tem contribuído negativamente na aprendizagem dos alunos e comprovado nas avaliações nacionais e internacionais. Uma vez que o atual modelo não atende as necessidades de formação dos alunos ditos regulares, fica claro que este não atenderá as demandas dos alunos com necessidades educacionais especiais (NEE) com dificuldade de comunicação. Dentro desse aspecto, neste trabalho são apresentadas propostas de intervenção pedagógica voltadas para o ensino de conceitos de eletricidade para alunos com dificuldade de comunicação oral e que pode facilitar o processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Os materiais produzidos estão baseados na comunicação intermediada pela técnica PCS (Picture Communication Symbols), onde são associadas às grandezas, imagens, equações e unidades de medida de forma avaliar a aprendizagem sem obrigatoriamente estarem atrelados a ela os procedimentos matemáticos comumente presentes na abordagem desses conteúdos. Apesar de estarem voltados para alunos com NEE, esses materiais trazem a mensagem para o professor da necessidade de adequação da sua prática letiva tornando ela mais efetiva e integradora para todos os alunos

It is a fact that today the current scenario of Brazilian education can be considered calamitous, due to several factors, which has contributed negatively to student learning and proven in national and international assessments. Since the current model does not meet the training needs of regular students, it is clear that it will not meet the demands of students with special educational needs (SEN) with communication difficulties. Within this aspect, in this work are presented pedagogical intervention proposals aimed at teaching concepts of electricity for students with oral communication difficulties and that can facilitate the process of teaching and learning. The materials produced are based on the communication mediated by the PCS (Picture Communication Symbols) technique, where they are associated with the magnitudes, images, equations and units of measurement in order to evaluate the learning without being bound to it the mathematical procedures commonly present in the approach of these contents . Although they are aimed at students with SEN, these materials bring the message to the teacher about the need to adapt their teaching practice making it more effective and inclusive for all students

Es un hecho que hoy el actual escenario de la educación brasileña puede ser considerado calamitoso, debido a varios factores, que ha contribuido negativamente en el aprendizaje de los alumnos y comprobado en las evaluaciones nacionales e internacionales. Una vez que el actual modelo no atiende las necesidades de formación de los alumnos dichos regulares, queda claro que éste no atenderá las demandas de los alumnos con necesidades educativas especiales (NEE) con dificultad de comunicación. En este aspecto, en este trabajo se presentan propuestas de intervención pedagógica dirigidas a la enseñanza de conceptos de electricidad para alumnos con dificultad de comunicación oral y que puede facilitar el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje. Le texte présente des éléments sur les troubles de l’oralité dans l’autisme, du point de vue de la psychanalyse, en combinant des questions de la constitution du psychisme enfantile et de l’oralité. Pour combiner ces questions théoriques et cliniques, deux cas cliniques sont développés dans le texte. Les enfants dont les cas sont abordés présentent un fonctionnement autistique où l’oralité est primordiale. Cette oralité revêt un effet de surprise énigmatique, soit par la voracité, soit par l’indiscrimination orale. Celle-ci installe la bouche comme lieu exclusif de fente, trou qui englobe tout et ne satisfait jamais.

The text presents some considerations on orality disorders in autism, from the point of view of psychoanalysis, intertwining issues of the constitution of the infant psyche and orality. To approach these theoretical and clinical issues two clinical cases are presented. The portrayed children present autistic functioning, characterized by oral primacy, and the enigmatic appears in the way orality is revealed, either in voracity or oral indiscrimination, installing the mouth exclusively in place of a, hole that encompasses everything and is never satisfied.

Der Text stellt einige Überlegungen der autistischen Sprachstörung vor, durch psychoanalytische Theorie werden die Fragen nach kindlichen psychischen Konstitution und Mündlichkeit verflochten. Um die theoretischen und klinischen Fragen anzuschließen, werden zwei Fälle in diesem Artikel abgezeichnet. Die abbildenden Kinder weisen in der oralen Phase autistisches Funktionieren auf und das Symptom erscheint in der Art und Weise wie die Mündlichkeit sich offenbart, sowohl in der Gefräßigkeit als auch in der oralen Nichtdiskriminierung, sie bringen den Mund ausschließlich an der Stelle des Risses unter, ein Loch, der alles umfasst und nicht genügt.

O texto apresenta algumas considerações sobre os distúrbios da oralidade no autismo, no viés da psicanálise, entrelaçando as questões da constituição do psiquismo infantil e a oralidade. Para enlaçar estas questões teóricas e clínicas dois casos são delineados no trabalho. As crianças retratadas apresentam funcionamento autistico onde a primazia oral apresenta-se e o surpreendente enigmático comparece no modo como a oralidade se revela, seja na voracidade ou na indiscriminação oral, instalando a boca exclusivamente no lugar de fenda, buraco que engloba tudo e não se satisfaz.

El texto presenta algunas consideraciones sobre los disturbios de la oralidad en el autismo, en el sesgo del psicoanálisis, combinando las cuestiones de la constitución del psiquismo infantil y la oralidad. Para enlazar estas cuestiones teóricas y clínicas, dos casos son delineados en el trabajo. Los niños retratados presentan funcionamiento autístico donde la primacía oral se presenta y el sorprendente enigmático comparece en el modo como la oralidad se revela, sea con la voracidad o en la indiscriminación oral instalando la boca exclusivamente en el lugar de la ranura, agujero que engloba todo y no se satisface.

本文针对自闭症的口语障碍进行心理分析学解读，結合兒童心理障碍與口語表达能力的問題提出一些思考意见。作者通过两个病例对儿童自闭症的理论与临床实践方面提出自己的观点。文中所提及的二个兒童病例，都是有自閉行為，他们的口语表达能力都严重不足，无论在发音，口型，口齿，他们都无法完成其应有的功能，从而无法满足表达思想的需要。

RESUMO Objetivo: O objetivo do estudo foi estabelecer um protocolo de cultura primária para o isolamento de células acinares da glândula lacrimal (CAGL) e avaliar a relevância de insulina no meio de cultura. Métodos: CAGL foram isoladas e cultivadas a partir das glândulas lacrimais de ratos Wistar machos. Os parâmetros analisados foram: o número de células, viabilidade e secreção da peroxidase ao longo do tempo e em resposta a três concentrações de insulina (0,5; 5,0 e 50,0 μg/ml). Resultados: Na cultura primária de CAGL as células passaram a se agrupar por volta do dia 3. A secreção de peroxidase em resposta ao carbacol aumentou no dia 6. O período de cultura viável foi limitado à 12 dias. Insulina à 5,0 μg/ml no meio de cultura resultou em viabilidade e capacidade secretora maior. Conclusão: o estudo descreveu um método para simplificar o isolamento e cultivo de CAGL. Os dados apresentados confirmam a importância da insulina na manutenção da cultura de CAGL.

ABSTRACT Purpose: The goal of the present study was to establish a protocol for primary culture of lacrimal gland acinar cells (LGACs) and to assess the effect of adding insulin to the culture media. Methods: LGACs were isolated and cultured from lacrimal glands of Wistar male rats. The study outcomes included cell number, viability, and peroxidase release over time and in response to three concentrations of insulin (0.5, 5.0, and 50.0 μg/mL). Results: In LGAC primary culture, cells started to form clusters by day 3. There was a time-response pattern of peroxidase release, which rose by day 6, in response to carbachol. Culture viability lasted for 12 days. An insulin concentration of 5.0 μg/mL in the culture medium resulted in higher viability and secretory capacity. Conclusions: The present method simplifies the isolation and culture of LGACs. The data confirmed the relevance of adding insulin to maintain LGACs in culture.

Resumo A flexibilidade alimentar e onivoria são características das espécies de peixes de água doce neotropicais, especialmente em espécies de Astyanax. Tradicionalmente a maioria dos recursos na dieta de peixes é reconhecidamente originária do ambiente aquático, porém estudos recentes têm apontado para a importância das fontes alóctones. Além disso, a colonização de macrófi tas, comuns em vários reservatórios tropicais, pode melhorar os aspectos de insetivoria na dieta dos peixes expandindo ou concentrando a área disponível para a alimentação. Aqui analisamos o conteúdo estomacal de duas espécies de Astyanax simpátricas para avaliar a importância das diferenças de habitats, como a complexidade espacial, em dois reservatórios tropicais com diferentes características ambientais. A análise NMDS indicou separação na dieta destas espécies entre reservatórios (stress = 8.28%). Além disso, a análise de variância revelou uma diferença signifi cativa no volume de itens alimentares consumidos entre os reservatórios (Anova one-way F (1. 132) = 4,4446; p = 0.037), salientando a importância das condições ambientais na composição da dieta de peixes. O estudo destacou o hábito alimentar insetívoro das espécies de Astyanax e revelou diferentes estratégias de alimentação entre esses peixes simpátricos apesar da alta sobreposição de nicho nos dois ambientes. A heterogeneidade de hábitat aumentando a disponibilidade de recursos alimentares teve importância sobre a estratégia alimentar das espécies de Astyanax e consequentemente na manutenção constante de ambas nos dois diferentes reservatórios.

Abstract Food flexibility and omnivory are important features pronounced in Neotropical freshwater fish species, particularly for Astyanax species. Traditionally most fish diet resources are known to be originated in the aquatic environment, however recent studies have pointed to the importance of allochthonous sources. Besides, the colonization of macrophytes, common at several tropical reservoirs, may enhance insectivory in fish diet expanding or concentrating the area of available resources for feeding. Here we employed stomach contents analysis of two sympatric Astyanax species to access the importance of habitat differentiations as spatial complexity in two tropical reservoirs with different environmental features. The NMDS analysis indicated separation in the diet of these species between reservoirs (Stress= 8.28%). Additionally, analysis of variance revealed a significative difference in the volume of food itens ingested between the reservoirs (Anova one-way F(1, 132)=4.4446; p= 0.037). This points out the importance of environmental conditions on the composition of the diet of fishes. This study highlighted the insectivorous feeding habit of Astyanax species and revealed different feeding strategies between sympatric fishes despite high niche overlap in both environments. Habitat heterogeneity increasing food resources availability plays an important role in the diet strategy of these Astyanax species and on their constant maintenance in the two different reservoirs.

RESUMO: O imazaquin é um herbicida utilizado intensivamente no Brasil para controlar plantas daninhas associadas principalmente a cultura da soja. O presente trabalho teve como objetivos estudar a mobilidade e a lixiviação do imazaquin em solos com diferentes características. Em ambos os experimentos o delineamento estatístico foi inteiramente casualizado com três repetições. Estudou-se a mobilidade do imazaquin em Latossolo Vermelho Eutrófico (textura muito argilosa), Nitossolo Háplico Eutrófico (textura média argilosa), Argissolo Vermelho Amarelo Eutrófico (textura média argilosa) e Neossolo Quartzarênico Órtico (textura arenosa). Para a obtenção do coeficiente de mobilidade (Rf) uma solução de 14C-imazaquin com atividade de 304,75 Bq/µL foi aplicado em placas contendo os diferentes solos. Todos os valores de Rf variaram entre 0,803 e 1, indicando que o herbicida possui alta mobilidade para todos os solos. No estudo de lixiviação foram utilizados os solos classificados como Latossolos Vermelhos e que diferiam quimicamente. O herbicida imazaquin (14C Imazaquin + produto técnico) foi aplicado na dose recomendada (161 g i.a ha-1), diretamente sobre a superfície das amostras de solo que foram previamente empacotadas em colunas. Posteriormente, foi feita simulação de chuva de 200 mm. A maior parte de radioatividade do imazaquin foi retida nas camadas de 0 a 10 cm nos dois solos LVe, sendo que no solo com maior pH uma pequena % de radioatividade foi notada até a camada de 15-20 cm. O herbicida imazaquin tem maior mobilidade em solos com baixo teor de matéria orgânica e de argila e em solos com alto pH.

ABSTRACT: Imazaquin is an herbicide widely used in Brazil to control weeds associated with the soybean crop. This work aimed to study the mobility and leaching of imazaquin in soils with different characteristics. In both experiments, a completely randomized block design was used; with tree replicates. We study the mobility of imazaquin in Red Eutrophic Latosol, clayey; Alfisol Haplic Eutrophic, medium texture; Alfissol Eutrophic, medium texture; and Orthic Psament, sandy texture. To obtain the mobility rate (Mr), a solution of 14C-imazaquin with the activity of 304,75 Bq/mL was applied to plates containing different soils. All Mr values range between 0.803 and 1, indicating that imazaquin has a relevant mobility in our soils. In the leaching study, the soils were classified as Rhodic and differed chemically. The herbicide imazaquin (14C + imazaquin technical product) was applied to the highest recommended dose ( 161 g a.i. ha-1), directly on the soil surface of each column. After that, was done a rainfall simulation of 200 mm. Nearly 100% of the herbicide was in the 0-10 cm layer, however, the soil with higher pH, the herbicide was distributed to 15-20 cm depth. The herbicide imazaquin has greater mobility in soils with low organic matter and clay and soils with high Ph.

RESUMO Objetivo: Células acinares da glândula lacrimal (GL) sinalizam a regulação da liberação através de vesículas secretórias específicas Rab proteínas exocitóticas SNARE. No diabetes mellitus (DM), as glândulas lacrimais são disfuncionais. O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar se em ratos diabéticos, alterações dos aparatos secretórios estão associados a efeitos sobre vesículas secretoras (VS) e sobre os níveis de expressão do constituinte Rab, bem como membros da família SNARE, e se a suplementação de insulina reverte as alterações. Métodos: DM foi induzido em ratos Wistar machos com uma dose intravenosa de estreptozotocina (60 mg/kg). Um dos dois grupos diabéticos foi então tratado a cada dois dias com insulina (1 UI). Um terceiro grupo controle foi injetado com o veículo. Após 10 semanas, western blot e RT-PCR comparou níveis de fatores secretórios de Rab e SNARE na glândula lacrimal. Microscopia eletrônica de transmissão (MET) avaliaram a densidade e integridade de VS de célula acinar. Resultados: No grupo diabetes mellitus , houve poucas e alargadas VS. Rab27b, Rab 3d e Sintaxina-1 diminuiu a expressão da proteína em ratos com Diabetes Mellitus. O tratamento com insulina restaurou a densidade das VS e expressão de Rab 27b e Sintaxina para seus níveis de proteína controle, enquanto a expressão de Vamp 2 RNAm aumentou em relação aos controles. Conclusões: Alterações na glândula lacrimal de diabetes mellitus estão associadas a reduções nos níveis de expressão de proteínas envolvidas no apoio a exocitose e formação vesicular. Eles são, em parte, revertida por terapia de reposição de insulina. Estes resultados podem ajudar a melhorar a conduta terapêutica do olho seco no diabetes mellitus.

ABSTRACT Purpose: In the lacrimal gland (LG) acinar cells, signaling regulates the release of secretory vesicles through specific Rab and SNARE exocytotic proteins. In diabetes mellitus (DM), the LGs are dysfunctional. The aim of this work was to determine if secretory apparatus changes were associated with any effects on the secretory vesicles (SV) in diabetic rats as well as the expression levels of constituent Rab and members of the SNARE family, and if insulin supplementation reversed those changes. Methods: DM was induced in male Wistar rats with an intravenous dose of streptozotocin (60 mg/kg). One of the two diabetic groups was then treated every other day with insulin (1 IU). A third control group was injected with vehicle. After 10 weeks, Western blotting and RT-PCR were used to compared the Rab and SNARE secretory factor levels in the LGs. Transmission electron microscopy evaluated acinar cell SV density and integrity. Results: In the diabetes mellitus group, there were fewer and enlarged SV. The Rab 27b, Rab 3d, and syntaxin-1 protein expression declined in the rats with diabetes mellitus. Insulin treatment restored the SV density and the Rab 27b and syntaxin expression to their control protein levels, whereas the Vamp 2 mRNA expression increased above the control levels. Conclusions: Diabetes mellitus LG changes were associated with the declines in protein expression levels that were involved in supporting exocytosis and vesicular formation. They were partially reversed by insulin replacement therapy. These findings may help to improve therapeutic management of dry eye in diabetes mellitus.
