ABSTRACT The effects of diets containing oilseeds were measured to evaluate the productive and economic parameters in the finishing of young, feedlot Nellore bulls. Twenty-four young Nellore bulls were used, with an initial body weight (BW) of 311.46±0.37 kg and 24 months of age, distributed into individual stalls ( 4 × 20 m) in a completely randomized design, totaling four treatments with six repetitions per treatment. Four diets (control, based on corn and soybean meal, and three diets containing cottonseed, soybean, and sunflower) were evaluated. Feed and orts were measured daily to calculate intake and costs. The dry matter intake of the control group was higher than soybean (10.64 kg/day), cotton (9.88 kg/day), and sunflower (9.30 kg/day) treatments, respectively. The cottonseed treatment showed the highest average neutral detergent fiber intake. There was a dietary effect of diets on average daily gain, total weight gain, and final weight. The soybean treatment showed the highest performance, total gain (232.55 kg), and final weight (544.38 kg). Oilseed intake can modify the fatty acids profile in the meat, decreasing its saturated fatty acid content. Whole soybean seed favors performance, improves feed efficiency, fatty acid profile, and fat distribution in the carcass, and can reduce production costs.

ABSTRACT In recent years, a large number of works have been presented that seek to solve the problem of road following by autonomous surface vehicles (ASV). In this sense, a non-linear guidance algorithm (NLGL), which has emerged in recent years for use in aerial vehicles, is presented as an interesting option for path tracking by marine vehicles as it does not use the yaw angle to achieve its objectives. control objectives. The biggest problem that these vehicles present when following paths is the influence of environmental disturbances on them, mainly sea currents and wind. To provide a solution to this problem, this paper presents a guidance and control scheme to achieve the following of straight paths by marine vehicles. It presents a cascade structure with an internal yaw velocity loop, which presents a PI controller as the main element, and the NLGL algorithm in the external loop. Thus achieving that the vehicle follows a straight path with zero error without the need to measure the yaw angle and avoiding the implementation of an integral action in the external loop. An analysis is made of how the marine currents and the wind influence this system from the linearization of the presented scheme, in addition to a stability analysis of the scheme is presented. Finally, the results of simulation and real experiments of the implementation of this scheme in a small ASV are presented, where it can be seen that the vehicle converges to the desired trajectory with precision in the presence of environmental disturbances.

RESUMEN En los últimos años se han presentado un gran número de trabajos que buscan resolver el problema del seguimiento de caminos por parte de los vehículos autónomos de superficie (ASV). En este sentido un algoritmo no lineal de guiado (NLGL), surgido en los últimos años para su uso en vehículos aéreos, se presenta como una interesante opción para el seguimiento de caminos por parte vehículos marinos al no utilizar el ángulo de guiñada para lograr sus objetivos de control. El mayor problema que presentan estos vehículos a la hora del seguimiento de caminos es la influencia de las perturbaciones ambientales sobre ellos, principalmente las corrientes marinas y el viento. Para dar una solución a esta problemática, en este trabajo se presenta un esquema de guiado y control para lograr el seguimiento de caminos rectos por parte de vehículos marinos. El mismo presenta una estructura en cascada con un lazo interno de velocidad angular de guiñada, que presenta un controlador PI como elemento principal, y el algoritmo NLGL en el lazo externo. Logrando así que el vehículo siga un camino recto con error cero sin la necesidad de la medición del ángulo de guiñada y evitando la implementación de una acción integral en lazo externo. Se realiza un análisis de como influyen las corrientes marinas y el viento sobre este sistema a partir de la linealización del esquema presentado, además un análisis de estabilidad del esquema es presentado. Por último, se presentan los resultados de simulación y de experimentos reales de la implementación de este esquema en un ASV de pequeño porte, donde se puede apreciar que el vehículo converge a la trayectoria deseada con precisión en presencia de perturbaciones medioambientales.

Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of dietary oilseed grains on physico-chemical and sensory parameters of the meat of Nellore steers. The animals were distributed in a completely randomized design in four treatments that consisted of four diets: one without the addition of lipids (control diet) and others containing cottonseed, soybean, sunflower seed. The meat from animals fed with soybean scored highest for succulence and tenderness. The inclusion of oilseed grains modified the composition of fatty acids in the meat, but did not influence the lipid indexes or the cholesterol content in the meat. We suggest the inclusion of soybean in the diet of young cattle because increase the meat acceptability by consumers.

ABSTRACT Ta1-xZrxN thin films were deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering aiming to investigate the influence of zirconium addition on the microstructure, hardness and high temperature oxidation resistance of the coatings. GAXRD showed that all Ta1-xZrxN thin films maintained ZrN crystalline structure, forming a TaZrN solid solution. Zr incorporation did not alter hardness values of Ta1-xZrxN coatings, however, promoted significant improvements in the oxidation resistance when compared to pure TaN thin films.

Resumen En la actualidad los profesionales de la salud son el recurso más valioso con el que cuenta cada país para combatir la enfermedad COVID-19. Las tasas de contagio intrahospitalario son altas y ligadas al acto de atención sanitaria. Las medidas de protección por parte de los empleadores son fundamentales para el cuidado de los que cuidan. La situación de pánico generada por el temor a contraer o transmitir la enfermedad, siendo primeros respondedores en la línea de combate ante la pandemia, ha sido amplificada por varios factores. Cuestiones como presión psicológica, carga laboral, mediatización, aspectos judiciales, desprotección, falta de descanso, nuevos roles, discriminación y agresiones son algunas de las situaciones a las que se los profesionales se deben enfrentar.(Acta Med Colomb 2020; 45. Abstract Today, healthcare professionals are a country's most valuable resource for combating COVID-19. Hospital contagion rates are high and linked to the practice of health care. Employers' protective measures are essential in caring for the caregivers. The panic resulting from a fear of contracting or transmitting the disease, with first responders being at the front line of the battle against the pandemic, has been amplified by various factors. Issues such as psychological pressure, workload, media coverage, legal aspects, lack of protection, lack of rest, new roles, discrimination and assaults are some of the situations faced by these professionals.(Acta Med Colomb 2020; 45. Abstract: Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) operating near the surface are subject to significant disturbances due to wave motion. In order to counteract the oscillatory effect of the waves in the actuators system, it is critical to remove it from the feedback loop. In this paper, a linear passive observer is designed to estimate shallow water wave motion and low frequency motion by using depth measurement. A set of simulation is presented to show the performance of the proposed observer for depth control of an AUV by using both simulated and real data. The results based on collected data confirm the suitable filtering and the navigation response expected, reducing control actions and thus vibrations of the rudders.

An AUV is an underwater vehicle that carries its own power supply and computational units. The HRC-AUV is a prototype develop by “Center for Navy Researching and Development” (CIDNAV) for undersea researching. In this paper is presented the implementation of a navigation system based on the nonlinear dynamical model for the HRC-AUV which allows to estimate sea currents magnitude and direction in the operation environment improving the navigation results. The results are validated through simulation using the 6 degrades of freedom (DOF) nonlinear model obtained for the HRC-AUV and using data sets obtained in experimental sessions directly from the vehicle

Un AUV es un submarino que porta consigo una fuente de energía y unidad de cómputo. El HRC-AUV es un prototipo desarrollado por el “Centro de investigación y Desarrollo Naval” (CIDNAV) para la exploración del fondo marino. En este trabajo se presenta la implementación de un sistema de navegación basada en el modelo dinámico no lineal del HRC-AUV que permite la estimación de la magnitud y dirección de las corrientes en el teatro de operaciones mejorando los resultados de la navegación. Los resultados se validan mediante simulación a partir del modelo matemático de 6 grados de libertad (GDL) del HRC-AUV y utilizando conjuntos de datos obtenidos en sesiones de experimentos con el vehículo

The development of autonomous vehicles is a subject of great interest in the international scientific community. For the accomplishment of missions without human intervention it is vitally to have an algorithm or guiding law. In this paper we present the results obtained by simulation with the guidance algorithm based on distance L1, during the tracking of straight and circular paths by an autonomous aerial vehicle (UAV). The algorithm produces a lateral acceleration command that is interpreted by the balancing controller to achieve convergence to the path. The results of the simulation demonstrate the good performance of the algorithm, for both straight and circular paths.

El desarrollo de los vehículos autónomos es un tema de gran interés en la comunidad científica internacional. Para el cumplimiento de misiones sin intervención humana es de vital importancia contar con un algoritmo o ley de guiado. En este trabajo se presentan los resultados obtenidos mediante simulaciones con el algoritmo de guiado basado en la distancia L1, durante el seguimiento de caminos rectos y circulares por parte de un vehículo aéreo no tripulado (UAV, por sus siglas en inglés). El algoritmo produce un mando de aceleración lateral que es interpretado por el controlador de balanceo para lograr la convergencia al camino. Los resultados de la simulación demuestran las buenas prestaciones del algoritmo, tanto para caminos rectos como en caminos circulares.

Introduction: Disasters are one of the first causes of death around the world; therefore their prevention is a necessity. Objectives: to increase knowledge on disasters risk prevention in the population of the Family Physician Consultations 5 and 12, of the Popular Council Colon Oeste. Material and Methods: the use of techniques evidenced the existence of limitations and difficulties representing vulnerabilities for the prevention in disasters reduction and mitigation. A community educative strategy was designed and applied, where the students of the first year of Nursery specialty of the Medical Sciences University Branch “Dr. Eusebio Hernández Pérez” took part, in the period from September 2015 to February 2016. Results: The low risk perception this population has, was identified. An educative communitarian strategy was elaborated and put into practice, showing its pertinence since it evidenced the increase of knowledge on the prevention for the reduction of disasters risk in the chosen community. Conclusions: knowledge of main aspects on disasters risk prevention increased in the population. Disasters risk management of disaster in the community is very important for the training of the graduated from Medical Sciences studies because they develop the required knowledge and skills for their profession and social assignment.

Introducción: los desastres son una de las primeras causas de muerte a nivel mundial, por lo que la prevención de los mismos es una necesidad. Objetivo: incrementar los conocimientos sobre reducción del riesgo de desastres en la población perteneciente a los Consultorios Médicos 5 y 12, del Consejo popular Colón Oeste. Materiales y Métodos: se aplicaron instrumentos que permitieron constatar la existencia de limitaciones y dificultades que significan vulnerabilidades para la prevención en la reducción y mitigación de desastres. Se diseñó y aplicó una estrategia educativa comunitaria con la participación, como facilitadores, de estudiantes de primer año de la carrera de licenciatura en Enfermería de la Filial de Ciencias Médicas “Dr. Eusebio Hernández Pérez”, en el período comprendido entre septiembre de 2015 a febrero de 2016. Resultados: se identificó la baja percepción del riesgo que tiene esta población. Se elaboró y se puso en práctica una estrategia educativa comunitaria que demostró su pertinencia, pues evidenció el incremento en el conocimiento sobre la prevención para la reducción de riesgo de desastres en la comunidad seleccionada. Conclusiones: se incrementó en la población conocimientos de aspectos principales sobre prevención del riesgo de desastres. La gestión del riesgo de desastres en la comunidad es de gran importancia para la preparación del egresado de Ciencias Médicas porque desarrolla conocimientos y habilidades precisas para la profesión y profundiza su encargo social.

Abstract:The objective of this work was to use meta-analysis to study the productive results of ewe and goat fed oil and seed, rich in unsatured fat acid. Twenty-two experiments with ewes (63 treatments) and 21 experiments with goats (76 treatments) were used. Average extra fat intake was 83.6±33.6 g per day in ewes, and 73.4±38.7 g per day in goats. In ewes, extra fat intake did not affect dry matter intake, but increased milk fat yield (from 91.4 to 98.8 g per day) and reduced milk protein content (from 5.41 to 5.24%). There were no differences in the sum of fat and protein contents. In goats, extra fat included in the diet reduced dry matter intake (from 2.13 to 2.08 kg per day), and increased milk fat percentage (from 4.11 to 4.43%) and the sum of fat and protein contents (from 7.41 to 7.76%). The yield responses to the intake of diets enriched with unsaturated fatty acids differ between ewes and goats. However, milk commercial value is not affected because of the absence of negative effects on the sum of fat and protein contents in both species.

Resumen:El objetivo de este trabajo fue utilizar el metaanálisis para estudiar los resultados productivos de ovejas y cabras de ordeño, alimentadas con aceites y semillas ricas en ácidos grasos insaturados. Se utilizaron 22 experimentos con ovejas (63 tratamientos) y 21 con cabras (76 tratamientos). El consumo medio de grasa extra fue de 83,6±33,6 g por día en ovejas y 73,4±38,7 g por día en cabras. En ovejas, la grasa extra no afectó al consumo de materia seca, pero aumentó la producción de grasa (de 91,4 a 98,8 g por día) y redujo el contenido proteico (de 5,41 a 5,24%) de la leche. No hubo diferencias en el extracto quesero. En cabras, la inclusión de grasa en la dieta redujo el consumo de materia seca (de 2,13 a 2,08 kg por día) y aumentó el porcentaje de grasa láctea (de 4,11 a 4,43%) y el extracto quesero (de 7,41 a 7,76%). La respuesta productiva de ovejas y cabras al consumo de dietas ricas en ácidos grasos insaturados es diferente. Sin embargo, el valor comercial de la leche no se ve afectado, debido a la ausencia de efectos negativos sobre el extracto quesero en ambas especies.

Researches related Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) have boomed in recent years mainly due to the development of sensors and computers technologies. In Cuba the Group of Automation, Robotics and Perception and the Hydrographic Research Center have been working on the development of an AUV based on low-cost hardware architecture. In this paper the design of a navigation system based on a passive observer is shown. The algorithm consists of a nonlinear model of the vehicle in combination with linear approximations of ocean waves and currents. The tuning procedure is relatively easy and the observer obtained is feasible to implement in real time. The simulations performed using MatLab/Simulink show good results in terms of disturbances rejection and estimation of navigation parameters needed like velocities and positions.

Las investigaciones en relación con los Vehículos Autónomos Sumergibles (VAS) han tenido un gran auge en los últimos años debido fundamentalmente al desarrollo de las tecnologías de sensores y computadoras. En nuestro país el Grupo de Automatización, Robótica y Percepción conjuntamente con el Centro de Investigaciones Hidrográficas trabajan en el desarrollo de un VAS basado en una arquitectura de hardware de bajo costo. En el presente artículo se muestra el diseño de un sistema de navegación compuesto por un observador pasivo de estados. El algoritmo consta de un modelo no lineal del vehículo, al que se le han incorporado aproximaciones lineales para modelar las olas y las corrientes marinas. El procedimiento de sintonización resulta relativamente sencillo y el observador obtenido es factible de implementar en tiempo real. Los resultados de las simulaciones realizadas utilizando MatLab/Simulink. En las simulaciones realizadas utilizando MatLab/Simulink se observa una estimación adecuada de los parámetros de navegación y el filtrado de las perturbaciones marinas.

Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) represents a topic of great interest to the scientific community worldwide. The guidance system is vital for the development of tasks without human intervention. In this research is designed a type PI controller for tracking paths straight from the HRC-AUV (vehicle used in this research), reducing the tracking error perpendicular to the path despite the effect of sea disturbances. The adjustment of gains of the controller is made based on the geometry of the way forward and the characteristics of the vehicle. The validity of the proposal is found through simulation, which is confirmed that the controller ILOS performance exceeds that of the strategy is implemented at present in the vehicle.

Los vehículos autónomos subacuáticos representan un tema de gran interés para la comunidad científica a nivel mundial. El sistema de guiado es vital para el desarrollo de maniobras sin intervención humana. En este trabajo se diseña un controlador tipo PI para el seguimiento de caminos rectos por parte del HRC-AUV (vehículo utilizado en esta investigación), reduciéndose el error de seguimiento perpendicular al camino debido al efecto de las perturbaciones marinas. El ajuste de las ganancias del controlador se realiza en base a la geometría del camino y a las características del vehículo. La validez de la propuesta se demuestra mediante simulación, con lo cual se demuestra que el desempeño del controlador ILOS es superior al de la estrategia que actualmente se encuentra implementada en el vehículo.

Objective. To describe the use of health services and associated factors in health care centers of the Ministry of Health of Peru (MINSA). Materials and methods. An ecological study was conducted with information from outpatients placed in all health centers from all Regions at the national level from 2009-2011. The use of health services was defined by the proportion of outpatient and the total population. This variable was compared by gender, age group, geographic area, and calendar year. Chi-square test was performed to compare proportions between the different layers. In addition, linear regression was performed to determine factors associated. Results. In this period of time there was an increased number of health care centers and health insurance coverage, but the use of health services decreased from 43.3% (2009) to 40.3% (2011). An increased use by female residents, age group of 0-29 years old and residents from the southern region was found. A multivariate analysis was conducted and factors associated with use of health systems were geographic area, and calendar year. Conclusions. Use of health services is not associated to the increased number of health centers nor the access to health insurance, but it is associated to individual factors or health system-related factors that should be evaluated in future studies.

Objetivo. Describir el uso de los servicios de salud y los factores asociados a este en los establecimientos de salud del Ministerio de Salud del Perú (MINSA). Materiales y método. Se realizó un estudio ecológico con información de los atendidos en los centros de salud a nivel nacional, durante años 2009 a 2011, empleando el sistema de información de salud HIS del MINSA. El uso de los servicios de salud fue definido por la proporción de atendidos y el total de la población. Esta variable se comparó por sexo, grupo de edad, zona geográfica y año calendario. Se realizó la prueba de chi cuadrado para comparar proporciones entre los diferentes estratos y regresión lineal para determinar los factores asociados. Resultados. Entre los años 2009-2011 hubo un incremento en el número de centros de salud y cobertura de seguros de salud, pero el uso de los servicios de salud disminuyó de 43,3% (2009) a 40,3% (2011). Se encontró un mayor uso por pobladores del sexo femenino, en el grupo de edades de 0 a 29 años y los residentes en la zona sur del país. En el análisis multivariado los factores asociados con uso de los sistemas de salud fueron zona geográfica y año calendario. Conclusiones. El uso de los servicios de salud no está asociada con el incremento en el número de centros de salud ni al acceso a los seguros de salud, sino a factores individuales o del sistema de salud que deben ser evaluados en estudios posteriores.

Este experimento foi conduzido com objetivo de avaliar niveis de cálcio e fósforo disponível para codornas japonesas. Foram utilizadas 12 dietas e sete repetições de oito aves por repetição num total de 672 aves, as quais foram distribuídas segundo um delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial, com três níveis de cálcio (2,0; 2,5 e 3,0%) e quatro de fósforo disponível (0,10; 0,17; 0,24 e 0,31%). Observou-se interação significativa entre os níveis de cálcio e fósforo disponível para o consumo de ração e de cálcio, verificouse efeito quadrático e linear para os níveis de fósforo disponível de codornas que consumiram dietas que continham 2,0 e 2,5% de cálcio, respectivamente, e para dietas que continham 3,0% de cálcio não houve efeito significativo. A produção de ovos comerciais cresceu linearmente, influenciada pelo nível de fósforo disponível das dietas. Verificou-se interação significativa entre o cálcio e fósforo disponível, para os teores de fósforo e cinzas nas tíbias. Aumento dos níveis de fósforo disponível nas dietas proporcionou aumento do teor de fósforo nas tíbias das aves alimentadas com dietas que continham 3,0% de cálcio e, efeito quadrático e linear sobre o teor de cinzas na tíbia das aves que receberam dietas com níveis 2,5 e 3,0% de cálcio, respectivamente. Para o teor de cálcio nas tíbias, verificou-se aumento linear com elevação dos níveis de fósforo disponível nas dietas. O consumo de 555,4mg de cálcio (2,0%) e de 88,18mg (0,31%) de fósforo disponível ave/dia, atende as exigências de codornas japonesas no período de 26 a 38 semanas de idade.

This experiment was conducted to evaluate different levels of calcium and phosphorus available for Japanese quail. 12 diets were used and seven replications of eight birds per replicate for a total of 672 birds, which were distributed in a completely randomized in a factorial design, three levels of calcium (2.0; 2.5 and 3.0%) and four available phosphorus (0.10; 0.17; 0.24 and 0.31%). There was significant interaction between the levels of calcium and phosphorus available for feed intake and calcium, verifying linear and quadratic effect for the levels of available phosphorus of quail fed diets containing 2.0 and 2.5% calcium, respectively, for diets containing 3.0% calcium there was no significant effect. The commercial eggs production increased linearly influenced by the level of available phosphorus diets. Increased levels of available phosphorus in the diets, provided increase the phosphorus content in the tibia of birds fed with diets containing 3.0% calcium, and linear and quadratic effect on the ash content in the tibia of birds fed diets containing 2.5 and 3.0% calcium, respectively. For the calcium content in the tibia, there was a linear increase with increasing levels of available phosphorus in the diet. The consumption of 555.4mg of calcium (2.0%) and 88.18mg available phosphorus (0.31%) bird/day, meets the requirements of Japanese quail of the 26 to 38 weeks of age.
