RESUMO: A intensificação do uso do herbicida glyphosate em áreas de soja RR tem selecionado espécies de plantas daninhas resistentes e tolerantes. Objetivou-se neste trabalho avaliar estratégias de manejo químico para o controle de Borreria latifolia e Richardia brasiliensis com aplicações em pré-emergência (Pré), pós-emergência inicial (Pósi) e pós-emergência tardia (Póst) dessas plantas. Foram conduzidos seis experimentos em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com quatro repetições nos experimentos em Pré e três em Pósi e Póst, para cada uma das espécies. Nos experimentos em Pré, foram testados os herbicidas imazethapyr, sulfentrazone, chlorimuron, diclosulam, S-metolachlor e saflufenacil. Em Pósi, foram aplicados bentazon, fomesafen, lactofen, flumioxazin e glyphosate. Em Póst, plantas adultas receberam aplicações de glyphosate associadas a 2,4-D, carfentrazone, imazethapyr, flumiclorac, flumioxazin, sulfentrazone, chlorimuron, saflufenacil e glufosinate, além de três aplicações sequenciais com glyphosate isolado e paraquat/diuron. Nos experimentos havia um tratamento testemunha sem aplicação de herbicidas. Nos experimentos Pré, avaliou-se o percentual de plantas emergidas aos 14 e 28 dias após a aplicação (DAA). Em Pósi e Póst foram avaliados o controle visual aos 14 e 28 DAA e a matéria seca da parte aérea. Os herbicidas sulfentrazone, S-metolachlor e saflufenacil suprimiram a emergência tanto de B. latifolia quanto de R. brasiliensis; chlorimuron e diclosulam foram eficientes somente sobre R. brasiliensis. Em Pósi, fomesafen, lactofen e flumioxazin atingiram níveis de controle superiores a 90% sobre ambas as espécies. Em Póst, a associação de glyphosate com carfentrazone, flumiclorac, flumioxazin, chlorimuron, saflufenacil e glufosinate e as aplicações sequenciais de glyphosate/glyphosate, glyphosate/paraquat+diuron, e glyphosate+2,4-D/paraquat+diuron atingiram níveis de controle superiores a 95%.

ABSTRACT: Increased use of glyphosate in transgenic soybean areas has selected resistant and tolerant weed species. The aim of this study was to evaluate chemical management strategies for controlling Borreria latifolia and Richardia brasiliensis at pre-emergence (Pre), early post-emergence (Poste) and late post-emergence (Postl). Six experiments were carried out in a completely randomized design with four replicates per treatment in the Pre experiments and three in the Poste and Postl experiments, for each of the species. In the Pre experiments, tests were performed with herbicides imazethapyr, sulfentrazone, chlorimuron, diclosulam, S-metolachlor and saflufenacil. In the Poste experiments, seedlings were sprayed with herbicides bentazon, fomesafen, lactofen, flumioxazin and glyphosate. In Postl experiments, adult plants received glyphosate application associated with herbicides 2,4-D, carfentrazone, imazethapyr, flumiclorac, flumioxazin, sulfentrazone, chlorimuron, saflufenacil and glufosinate, plus three sequential applications with glyphosate only and paraquat/diuron. In the experiments, there was a control treatment without application of herbicides. In the Pre experiments, the plants established at 14 and 28 days after application (DAA) were evaluated. In the Poste and Postl experiments, shoot dry matter evaluation and visual control were performed at 14 and 28 DAA. The herbicides sulfentrazone, S-metolachlor and saflufenacil suppressed the emergence of both B. latifolia as R. brasiliensis; chlorimuron-ethyl and diclosulam were effective only on R. brasiliensis. In Poste, fomesafen, lactofen and flumioxazin reached levels of control over 90% of plants of both species. In Postl, glyphosate associated with carfentrazone, flumiclorac, flumioxazin, chlorimuron-ethyl, saflufenacil, glufosinate, and sequential applications of glyphosate/glyphosate, glyphosate/paraquat+diuron, glyphosate+2,4-D/paraquat+diuron reached levels control higher than 95%.

RESUMO: A associação entre herbicidas e demais pesticidas pode causar reflexos tanto no manejo de plantas daninhas quanto de cultivadas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a resposta da associação de diferentes herbicidas com inseticidas ou fungicidas pertencentes a diferentes grupos químicos sobre o desenvolvimento e rendimento de grãos de trigo, cultivar ORS Vintecinco. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos ao acaso com três repetições. O experimento foi constituído por 33 tratamentos: testemunha sem aplicação, aplicação dos herbicidas 2,4-D (1.005 g e.a. ha-1), bentazon (756 g i.a. ha-1), metsulfuron-methyl (3 g i.a. ha-1) e pyroxsulam (16 g i.a. ha-1), de forma isolada ou associados com os inseticidas chlorfluazuron (15 g i.a. ha-1), chlorpyrifos (720 g i.a. ha-1), deltamethrin (5 g i.a. ha-1) e methomyl (5 g i.a. ha-1), ou com os fungicidas azoxystrobin (100 g i.a. ha-1), carbendazim (250 g i.a. ha-1) e propiconazole (190 g i.a. ha-1). Avaliou-se a tolerância relativa (TR), a massa da parte aérea seca (MPAS) das plantas e os componentes de rendimento e rendimento de grãos. De modo geral, pyroxsulam apresentou maior número de interações sinérgicas com os inseticidas e fungicidas utilizados, reduzindo dessa forma a TR e MPAS das plantas, destacando-se a associação pyroxsulam + chlorpyrifos pelo menor nível de TR (45%) e maior redução de MPAS (52%). Todas as associações de herbicidas com o inseticida chlorpyrifos e a maioria das associações com o fungicida propiconazole resultaram em redução do rendimento de grãos em relação à aplicação isolada dos mesmos herbicidas ou à testemunha sem aplicação.

ABSTRACT: The combination of herbicides and other pesticides can influence weed and crop management. This study aimed to evaluate the response of the combination of different herbicides with insecticides or fungicides of different chemical groups on the development and yield of wheat grains of the cultivar ORS Vintecinco. The experimental design was a randomized block design with three replications. The experiment consisted of 33 treatments, as follows: control without application and application of the herbicides 2,4-D (1,005 g a.e. ha-1), bentazon (756 g a.i. ha-1), metsulfuron-methyl (3 g a.i. ha-1), and pyroxsulam (16 g a.i. ha-1), isolated or combined with the insecticides chlorfluazuron (15 g a.i. ha-1), chlorpyrifos (720 g a.i. ha-1), deltamethrin (5 g a.i. ha-1), and methomyl (5 g a.i. ha-1) or with the fungicides azoxystrobin (100 g a.i. ha-1), carbendazim (250 g a.i. ha-1), and propiconazole (190 g a.i. ha-1). Relative tolerance (RT), shoot dry matter (SDM), yield components, and grain yield were evaluated. In general, pyroxsulam had the highest number of synergistic interactions with insecticides and fungicides, reducing RT and SDM, especially the combination pyroxsulam + chlorpyrifos due to a lower RT level (45%) and higher SDM reduction (52%). All combinations of herbicides with the insecticide chlorpyrifos and most of the combinations with the fungicide propiconazole led to a reduction of grain yield when compared to their isolated application or to control without application.

RESUMO: O sinergismo é um resultado desejado na interação entre os herbicidas por proporcionar muitos benefícios, entre os quais a redução de doses e o incremento da eficiência de controle, e por sinalizar positivamente para a aplicação conjunta de herbicidas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da associação de saflufenacil com outros herbicidas promotores de estresse oxidativo sobre o desenvolvimento de Euphorbia heterophylla, bem como analisar se as interações resultantes possuem natureza antagônica, aditiva ou sinérgica. O experimento foi realizado em vasos, em casa de vegetação, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos consistiram de doses de saflufenacil (0; 1,2; 2,32; 4,47; 8,63; e 16,65 g ha-1) aplicadas de forma isolada e associadas com clomazone (288 e 504 g ha-1), metribuzin (105,6 e 206,4 g ha-1) e paraquat (20 e 40 g ha-1), além desses últimos herbicidas aplicados isoladamente, nas mesmas doses descritas. Aos 21 dias após a aplicação (DAA), foi avaliada a massa seca parte aérea das plantas em cada unidade experimental. O método de Limpel-Colby foi utilizado para cálculo da resposta esperada da interação entre os herbicidas. Todas as associações de saflufenacil com clomazone, metribuzin e paraquat foram sinérgicas. Dos tratamentos associados a saflufenacil, aqueles que incluíram metribuzin na dose de 105,6 g ha-1 foram os que proporcionaram resultados mais promissores, destacando-se pela maior redução da massa seca parte aérea das plantas de leiteiro, em comparação à aplicação isolada de saflufenacil.

ABSTRACT: Synergism is a desired result in the interaction between herbicides because it provides many benefits, among which the reduction of doses and the increment of control efficiency, and because it positively signals for the joint application of herbicides. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of the association of saflufenacil with other herbicides that promote oxidative stress on the development of Euphorbia heterophylla as well as to analyze if the resulting interactions are antagonistic, additive or synergistic. The experiment was conducted in pots, in a greenhouse, using a completely randomized design with four replications. Treatments consisted of saflufenacil (0, 1,2, 2,32, 4,47, 8,63, 16,65 g ha-1) alone and associated with clomazone (288 and 504 g ha-1), metribuzin (105.6 and 206.4 g ha-1) and paraquat (20 and 40 g ha-1), as well as these herbicides applied alone at the same doses described above. Twenty-one days after the application (DAA), the shoot dry matter (SDM) of plants was evaluated in each experimental unit. The Limpel-Colby method was used to calculate the expected response of the herbicide interaction. All combinations of saflufenacil with clomazone, metribuzin and paraquat were considered synergistic. Among the treatments associated with saflufenacil, those including metribuzin at the dose of 105.6 g ha-1 were the ones that provided the most promising results, which stood out for the greater reductions of wild poinsettia shoot dry matter, compared to the application of saflufenacil alone.

A ocorrência de ftalato de di(2-etilhexila) (DEHP) e bisfenol A (BPA) em águas residuais da estação de tratamento da Universidade de Caxias do sul (ETE-UCS) foi investigada neste trabalho. Durante cinco meses, cinco amostras dos pontos de entrada e saída da ETE-UCS foram coletadas e submetidas à extração líquido-líquido (LLE). Os extratos orgânicos foram analisados por cromatografia a gás com detecção por ionização em chama (GC/FID). As eficiências de remoção da ETE-UCS foram de 37,79 e 19,90% para BPA e DEHP, respectivamente. As concentrações médias no ponto de saída foram 52,52 e 20,00 mg L-1 para BPA e DEHP, respectivamente. As concentrações altas dos analitos, no ponto de saída da ETE podem estar relacionadas com a remoção baixa dos sólidos suspensos das amostras brutas. Para confirmar esta hipótese, outras cinco amostras dos pontos de entrada e saída da ETE-UCS também foram submetidas à LLE, com e sem o procedimento de pré-filtração. A remoção de DEHP foi de 74,44% sendo a concentração média no ponto de saída de 6,01 mg L-1. Para as amostras não pré-filtradas a remoção de DEHP foi de 40,96% sendo a concentração média no ponto de saída de 17,04 mg L-1

This study investigated the occurrence of di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) and bisphenol A (BPA) in the wastewater treatment plant of the University of Caxias do Sul (WWTP-UCS). During five months, five wastewater samples from the inflow and outflow points were collected and submitted to liquid-liquid extraction (LLE). The organic extracts were analyzed by gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC/FID). The removals grades were 37.79 and 19.90% for BPA and DEHP, respectively. The average concentrations at the outflow points were 52.52, and 20.00 mg L-1, for BPA and DEHP, respectively. These high target compound contents at the exit point may be due to the low removal of suspended solids from the raw samples (only 42.72% removal). To confirm this hypothesis, other five samples also from the inflow and out flow points were submitted to LLE extraction with and without the prefiltration step. The DEHP removal in the filtered samples was 74.44% and the median DEHP concentration at the outflow point was 6.01 mg L-1. For the unfiltered samples, the DEHP removal was 40.96% and the median DEHP concentration at the outflow point was 17.04 mg L-1.

RESUMO O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar as atividades antibacteriana e indutora de resistência de extratos de Pycnoporus sanguineus para controle do crestamento bacteriano comum, causado por Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. phaseoli, em feijoeiro. In vitro foram utilizados extratos aquosos de basidiocarpo, micélio e filtrado de cultura de P. sanguineus nas concentrações de 1, 5, 10, 15 e 20%, além das testemunhas água, acibenzolar-S-metil (ASM - 125 mg i.a. L-1) e antibiótico (22,5 mg L-1 de oxitetraciclina + 225 mg L-1 de estreptomicina). In vivo foram realizadas avaliações de severidade e atividade de peroxidase, polifenoloxidase, β-1,3 glucanase e fenilalanina amônia-liase, com o uso de extrato aquoso de micélio e de basidiocarpo e filtrado de cultura de P. sanguineus a 5% e 10%. Verificou-se atividade antibacteriana apenas para o filtrado de cultura em concentrações acima de 15% e para o extrato de basidiocarpo nas concentrações de 1 a 20%. In vivo, os resultados indicaram o potencial de extratos de basidiocarpos de P. sanguineus para o controle de X. axonopodis pv. phaseoli em feijoeiro, com redução média de 56% na severidade, o que pode ter ocorrido tanto por atividade antimicrobiana direta quanto por indução de resistência, envolvendo principalmente a ativação das enzimas de defesa vegetal peroxidase e polifenoloxidase.

ABSTRACT The aim of this work was to verify the antimicrobial and resistance induction activities of Pycnoporus sanguineus extracts for the control of common bacterial blight caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. phaseoli. In vitro assays were performed using aqueous extracts from basidiocarp, mycelium and culture filtrate of P. sanguineus in concentrations of 1, 5, 10, 15 and 20%, with water, acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM - 125 mg a.i. L-1) and antibiotic (oxytetracycline 22.5 mg L-1 + streptomycin 225 mg L-1) as control treatments. For the in vivo assays the disease severity and the activities of peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase, β-1,3 glucanase and phenylalanine ammonia-lyase were evaluated using extracts of mycelium, basidiocarp and culture filtrate of P. sanguineus at 5% and 10%. Antibacterial activity was verified only for culture filtrate in concentrations above 15% and for concentrations of 1% to 20% of basidiocarp extract. The results of the in vivo assays indicated the potential of basidiocarps extracts from P. sanguineus for the control of X. axonopodis pv. phaseoli in beans, with an average severity reduction of 56%, which may have been due either to direct antimicrobial activity or to resistance induction involving mainly the activation of the plant defense enzymes peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase.
