Resumo Objetivo: descrever o suporte recebido pela segunda vítima nas quedas de pacientes adultos hospitalizados sob a perspectiva da equipe de enfermagem. Materiais e método: estudo exploratório e descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa, realizado em hospital geral de grande porte na região sul do Brasil. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevista semiestruturada com 21 trabalhadores de enfermagem (sete enfermeiros e 14 técnicos de enfermagem) selecionados por amostragem aleatória e que trabalhavam nas unidades de internação em que aconteceram quedas com grau de dano compreendido de moderado a grave, de março a maio de 2020. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo, de julho a agosto do mesmo ano. Resultados: por um lado, na percepção da equipe de enfermagem, o suporte à segunda vítima foi considerado incipiente pela instituição hospitalar. Por outro, os participantes destacam o apoio recebido pelos seus familiares e por pares no ambiente de trabalho. O estudo seguiu as diretrizes do Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (Coreq). Conclusões: há necessidade de formalizar um fluxo institucional de suporte à segunda vítima a fim de mitigar as repercussões sobre os trabalhadores.

Resumen Objetivo: describir el soporte recibido por la segunda víctima en las caídas de pacientes adultos hospitalizados desde la perspectiva del equipo de enfermería. Materiales y método: estudio exploratorio y descriptivo, con enfoque cualitativo, realizado en hospital general de gran tamaño en la región sur de Brasil. Se realizó la recolección de dados por medio de entrevista semiestructurada con 21 trabajadores de enfermería (siete enfermeros y 14 técnicos de enfermería) seleccionados por muestra aleatoria y que trabajaban en las unidades de hospitalización en que ocurrieron caídas con grado de daño comprendido de moderado a grave, de marzo a mayo de 2020. Se sometieron los datos al análisis de contenido, de julio a agosto de dicho año. Resultados: por una parte, desde la percepción del equipo de enfermería, el soporte a la segunda víctima se consideró incipiente por la institución hospitalaria. Por otra, los participantes destacan el apoyo recibido por sus familiares y pares en el entorno laboral. El estudio siguió las directrices del Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (Coreq). Conclusiones: hay necesidad de formalizar un flujo institucional de soporte a la segunda víctima con el fin de mitigar las implicaciones a los trabajadores.

Abstract Objective: To describe the support received by the second victim in falls suffered by hospitalized adult patients from the nursing team’s perspective. Materials and Methods: This is an exploratory and descriptive study with a qualitative approach, conducted in a large general hospital in the southern region of Brazil. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with 21 nursing professionals (seven nurses and fourteen nursing technicians) selected by random sampling, who worked in the inpatient units where falls occurred with a level of harm ranging from moderate to severe during March and May of 2020. The data were submitted to content analysis from July to August of the same year. Results: On the one hand, from the nursing team’s perspective, support for the second victim was considered incipient by the hospital institution. On the other, participants highlighted the support received by their families and peers in the work environment. The study followed the guidelines of the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ) . Conclusions: An institutional flow of support for the second victim needs to be formalized to mitigate the repercussions on staff.

A grande quantidade de grãos quebrados resultante do beneficiamento do arroz e seu baixo valor comercial tem levado as indústrias a buscarem alternativas para agregar valor a esse subproduto. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar as mudanças químicas e as propriedades viscoamilográficas em farinhas de arroz, obtidas a partir de grãos quebrados dos genótipos Irga 417, BRS Primavera e CNA 8502, submetidas ao processo de extrusão. Utilizou-se delineamento experimental inteiramente ao acaso, tipo fatorial 3x2, com quatro repetições originais e análise de variância para avaliar os dados obtidos. As farinhas dos diferentes materiais genéticos diferiram quanto ao valor nutricional e tecnológico. A farinha nativa da linhagem CNA 8502 apresentou maior teor de lipídios (0,45g 100g-1) e proteínas (10,23g 100g-1). De forma geral, as farinhas da Irga 417 apresentaram maiores teores de cinzas (0,39g 100g-1) e amilose (26,44g 100g-1). A extrusão diminuiu os teores de umidade e lipídios, elevou o teor de amilose, não afetou os teores de cinzas e proteínas e reduziu os valores de pico de viscosidade, viscosidade final, quebra de viscosidade e tendência à retrogradação, porém a magnitude da resposta dependeu das características inerentes a cada genótipo. As farinhas extrusadas apresentam potencial para aplicação em produtos instantâneos ou como ingrediente para produtos alimentícios nos quais são exigidas menores viscosidades, quando servidos a quente ou a frio, que suportem a agitação e retrogradem menos quando sejam resfriados.

The large amount of broken grains resulted from rice processing and its low commercial value have led industries to find alternatives to add value to this by product. The objective of this study was to evaluate the chemical and viscolamylographic properties changes in rice flour made from broken grains of genotypes IRGA 417, BRS Primavera and CNA 8502, subject to the extrusion process. It was used a randomized experimental design, type 3x2 factorial with four replications, and variance analysis to evaluate the data obtained for this. The flours of different genotypes differed on the nutritional value and technology. Native flour of CNA 8502 had a higher lipid content (0.45g 100g-1) and protein (10.23g 100g-1). In a general way, the flour of Irga 417 showed higher levels of ash (0.39g 100g-1) and amylose (26.44g 100g-1). Extrusion decreased the levels of moisture and lipids, increased the amylose content, didn't affect the ash and protein contents and reduced the viscosity peak, final viscosity, breakdown viscosity and retrogradation tendency, but the magnitude of the response depended of the defining features inherent genotypes. The extruded flours have potential for use in instant products or as an ingredient for food products in which lower viscosities are required when served hot or cold, supporting the agitation and retrograde least when they are cooled.

INTRODUÇÃO: Este foi um estudo prospectivo que incluiu mulheres atendidas no setor de obstetrícia e ginecologia do Hospital das Clínicas da Universidade Federal de Goiás, em Goiânia, Estado de Goiás com o objetivo de detectar rotavírus, adenovírus, calicivírus e astrovírus. Oitenta e quatro mulheres participaram no estudo e destas, 314 amostras fecais foram coletadas. Do total de mulheres, 29 eram soropositivas para HIV, 55 soronegativas, 45 e 39 estavam grávidas e não-grávidas, respectivamente. MÉTODOS: Amostras fecais foram coletadas de cada mulher uma vez a cada dois meses pelo período de Julho-2006 a Junho-2007, foram triadas para rotavírus pela metodologia de eletroforese em gel de poliacrilamida (EGPA) e através de ensaio imunoenzimático (EIE), para calicivírus e astrovírus por RT-PCR e por EIE para adenovírus. Os astrovírus foram genotipados por Nested-PCR. RESULTADOS: De 84 pacientes, 19 (22,6%) foram positivas para calicivírus (14/19) ou astrovírus (6/19), sendo que uma mulher foi positiva para ambos os vírus em amostras fecais coletadas em diferentes ocasiões. A maioria das amostras positivas foi coletada no período de Julho a Agosto (astrovírus) e de Setembro a Outubro (calicivírus). Nenhuma das amostras analisadas foi positiva para rotavírus ou adenovírus. Os vírus gastroentéricos foram detectados em 13/19 (68,4%) mulheres grávidas, as quais eram HIV-soropositivas ou não. CONCLUSÕES: Os resultados do presente estudo mostram que nem o estado gravídico das mulheres nem a soropositividade para HIV aumentaram o risco para a infecção por nenhum dos vírus gastroentéricos estudados. Este estudo apresenta dados sobre a detecção de vírus gastroentéricos entre mulheres grávidas e/ou HIV-positivas.

INTRODUCTION: This was a prospective study that included women seen in the obstetrics and gynecology sector of Hospital das Clínicas, Federal University of Goiás, in Goiânia, State of Goiás, with the aim of detecting rotaviruses, adenoviruses, caliciviruses and astroviruses. Eighty-four women participated in the study and from these, 314 fecal samples were collected. Out of all of the women, 29 were seropositive for HIV and 55 were seronegative, and 45 and 39 were pregnant and non-pregnant, respectively. METHODS: Fecal samples were collected from each woman once every two months over the period from July 2006 to June 2007, and they were screened for rotaviruses by means of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and immunoenzymatic assays, for caliciviruses and astroviruses by means of RT-PCR and for adenovirus by means of immunoenzymatic assays. The astroviruses were genotyped using nested PCR. RESULTS: Among the 84 patients, 19 (22.6%) were positive for either calicivirus (14/19) or astrovirus (6/19), while one women was positive for both viruses in fecal samples collected on different occasions. Most of the positive samples were collected during the months of July and August (astrovirus) and September and October (calicivirus). None of the samples analyzed was positive for rotavirus or adenovirus. Gastroenteric viruses were detected in 13/19 (68.4%) of the pregnant women, whether HIV-seropositive or not. CONCLUSIONS: The results from the present study showed that neither pregnancy nor HIV-seropositive status among the women increased the risk of infection by any of the gastroenteric viruses studied. This study presents data on gastroenteric virus detection among pregnant and/or HIV-positive women.
