ABSTRACT: This study estimated the growth of body, carcass, primal cuts, edible offal, and feathers of Japanese quail reared in two thermal environments, receiving three nutritional plans, from one to 39 days of age. A total of 576 one-day-old female chicks (Coturnix japonica) with an average initial weight of 7.51±0.75g/bird were evaluated in a completely randomized design with a 3 × 2 factorial arrangement (three nutritional plans × two temperatures). The animals were housed in two climatic chambers, at 25 ºC and 35 ºC, using 12 replications with eight birds per experimental unit. Nutritional plans (NP) were as follows: NP1: one diet from 1-21days and another from 22-39 days; NP2: one diet from 1-14 days and another from 15-39 days; and NP3: a single diet from 1-39 days. The growth curves and growth rates of body, carcass, primal cuts, feathers, and edible offal were evaluated using the Gompertz mathematical model. Quail fed NP3 showed higher growth curves and rates for body, carcass, drumstick +thigh, and feather. There was an effect on maturity rate, which was lowest in quail housed at 35 ºC. Among the animals kept at 25 ºC, the group fed NP3 exhibited the highest growth rate and breast weight. The nutritional plan consisting of a single diet offered from 1 to 39 days, formulated based on the tables for Japanese and European quail, is the most suitable for estimating the growth curves (Gompertz model) of Japanese quail housed at 25 ºC or 35 ºC.

RESUMO: Objetivou-se estimar o crescimento corporal, carcaça, cortes nobres, vísceras comestíveis e penas de codornas japonesas criadas em dois ambientes térmicos e alimentadas com três planos nutricionais de um a 39 dias. Foram utilizadas 576 pintainhas (Coturnix japônica), fêmeas, com um dia de idade, com peso médio inicial 7,51 ± 0,75g/ave, distribuídas em delineamento inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 3 × 2 (três planos nutricionais x duas temperaturas), alojadas em duas câmaras climáticas de 25º e 35 ºC, com 12 repetições e oito aves por unidade experimental. Os planos nutricionais foram: plano nutricional um (PN1) - uma dieta de 1-21 dias e uma dieta de 22-39 dias; plano nutricional dois (PN2) - uma dieta de 1-14 dias e uma dieta de 15-39 dias; e plano nutricional três (PN3) - dieta única de 1-39 dias. Foram avaliadas as curvas e taxas de crescimento corporal, carcaça, cortes nobres, penas e vísceras comestíveis, através do modelo matemático de Gompertz. Codornas alimentadas com PN3 apresentaram maiores curvas e taxas de crescimento corporal, de carcaça, coxa + sobrecoxa e penas. Houve efeito para taxa de maturidade, sendo inferior para codornas alojadas em 35 ºC. Nas aves mantidas em 25 ºC, observou-se maior taxa de crescimento e peso de peito nas codornas alimentadas com PN3. O plano nutricional composto por uma única dieta ofertada durante o período de um a 39 dias, formulado com base nas recomendações das tabelas para codornas japonesas e europeias, é o mais indicado para estimar curvas de crescimento no modelo de Gompertz de codornas japonesas alojadas em 25 ºC ou 35 ºC.

Resumen En la región semiárida de Paraíba, el caupí es el principal producto de la agricultura familiar. El cultivo tiene baja productividad debido a lluvias irregulares y condiciones climá ticas desfavorables. Además, la productividad también se ve afectada por el uso deficiente de las tecnologías de producción. Con el objetivo de superar estas limitaciones y aumentar la eficiencia de la selección de cultivares superiores, se llevó a cabo un extenso estudio utili zando modelos biométricos en caupí. Este primer trabajo tuvo los siguientes objetivos: i. Cuantificar los efectos directos e indirectos de los componentes primarios y secundarios en la producción de granos; ii. Identificar variables con mayor potencial para la selección de cultivares de caupí en la región semiárida de Paraíba y iii. Determinar las estrategias de selección más adecuadas para el conjunto de variables evaluadas. El experimento se llevó a cabo en un campo experimental en el Centro de Ciencia y Tecnología Agroalimentaria de la Universidad Federal de Campina Grande. Se evaluó la influencia de 6 componentes primarios y 6 componentes secundarios de la producción sobre la variable rendimiento de grano. Los datos se sometieron a ANAVA y se estimaron parámetros genéticos. También se realizaron correlaciones y análisis de ruta. Se identificaron variables con mayor potencial para la selección de cultivares superiores de caupí en la región semiárida de Paraíba. Se encontró que la variable rendimiento de vaina es la más prometedora para la selección de cultivares con mayor rendimiento de grano debido a la magnitud de los efectos fenotípico y genotípico. La selección directa y la selección simultánea son las estrategias más adecuadas para el conjunto de variables evaluadas. Sin embargo, para maximizar las ganancias gené ticas, se continuó el estudio a través de índices de selección.

Abstract In the semi-arid region of Paraíba, cowpea has low productivity due to irregular rainfall and poor use of production technologies. An extensive study aimed at selecting more productive cultivars was conducted using biometric models. This first work had the following objectives: i. Quantify direct and indirect effects of primary and secondary compo nents on grain production; ii. Identify variables with greater potential for cultivar selection in the semiarid region of Paraíba and iii. Determine the most appropriate selection strat egies for the evaluated variables. The experiment was conducted in an experimental field. The influence of 6 primary and 6 secondary production components was evaluated on grain yield. Data were subjected to ANOVA. Genetic parameters, correlations and path analysis were estimated. Given the strong direct phenotypic and genotypic effects, pod yield results the most promising variable for higher grain yield selection. Direct and simultaneous selec tions are the most suitable strategies for the set of evaluated variables. However, further studies on selection indices are necessary to maximize genetic gains.

Resumen En la región semiárida de Paraíba, el caupí (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) es el prin cipal producto de la agricultura familiar. El cultivo tiene baja productividad debido a lluvias irregulares y al uso de cultivares de baja productividad. Con el objetivo de superar estas limitaciones y aumentar la eficiencia de la selección de cultivares superiores, se llevó a cabo un extenso estudio utilizando modelos biométricos en caupí, con los siguientes obje tivos: i. Estimar las ganancias genéticas de los componentes de la producción; ii. Identi ficar el modelo de índice de selección que proporciona las mayores ganancias mediante la selección simultánea de un conjunto de variables y iii. Seleccionar cultivares con mayor productividad. El experimento se llevó a cabo en el campo experimental del Centro de Ciencia y Tecnología Agroalimentaria de la Universidad Federal de Campina Grande. Se evaluaron 13 variables relacionadas con la productividad. Los datos se sometieron a ANOVA y las medias se agruparon según la prueba de Scott y Knott p≤ 0,05. También se estimó el coeficiente de heredabilidad de cada variable. Las ganancias genéticas se estimaron utili zando las siguientes metodologías: respuesta correlacionada, índice de selección clásico, suma de rango e índice basado en las ganancias deseadas. Se encontró que la selección directa del componente de rendimiento de la vaina secundaria proporciona ganancias genéticas significativas en rendimiento de grano. Entre las metodologías utilizadas, el índice de selección clásico proporcionó una mayor distribución de las ganancias genéticas para rendimiento de grano y para los componentes primarios de producción. Estos resultados permiten concluir que los cultivares Costela de vaca, BRS Marataoã y Paulistinha pueden seleccionarse para cultivo y explotación en la región semiárida de Paraíba.

Abstract Low cowpea productivity (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) in the semi-arid region of Paraíba is due, among other factors, to poor-quality cultivars. This research tested biometric models intending to increase productivity of superior cultivars with the following objectives: i. Estimate genetic gains in production components; ii. Identify the selection index model providing the greatest gains through simultaneously selecting a set of variables, and iii. Select cultivars with higher productivity. The experiment was carried out in the experimental field of the Agrifood Science and Technology Center of the Federal University of Campina Grande. Eight cultivars and 13 variables were evaluated. Data were subjected to ANOVA and means were grouped using the Scott and Knott test. Genetic gains were estimated by correlated response, classic selection index, rank sum and index based on desired gains. Direct selection of the secondary pod yield component provides significant genetic gains in main grain yield. Among the methodologies used, the classic selection index provided greater distribution of genetic gains for main grain yield and primary production components. These results allow concluding that Costela de vaca, BRS Marataoã and Paulistinha cultivars should be selected for cultivation and commercial exploitation in the semiarid region of Paraíba.

Abstract Fibromyalgia is a rheumatic syndrome characterized by chronic and diffuse musculoskeletal pain that presents diagnostic and therapeutic challenges to Western medical rationality. Studies highlight the role of interdisciplinary treatment (IT) and corporal practices of health (CPH) in terms of health care and reception. The acts of giving, receiving, and returning symbolic gifts of care provide sociability, recognition, and legitimacy in the health field. The objective of this article is to understand IT and CPH as a system for exchanging health care gifts that is established between people diagnosed with fibromyalgia and health professionals. This is a qualitative study carried out by applying an open interview and carrying out field observation with eight people diagnosed with fibromyalgia and a semi-open questionnaire with nine health professionals. Content Analysis led to the elaboration of a thematic category: “The triple obligation cycle of giving health care.” The constitution of the gift in the health care process occurred by an affective-therapeutic displacement to the other, a gift of hospitality, and a gift of recognition. In summary, it was possible to perceive the relevance of IT and CPH as circuits of reciprocity capable of building new social uses of the body in social instances of life.

Resumo A fibromialgia é uma síndrome reumática caracterizada por dor musculoesquelética crônica e difusa que apresenta desafios diagnósticos e terapêuticos à racionalidade médica ocidental. Estudos ressaltam o papel do tratamento interdisciplinar (TI) e das práticas corporais de saúde (PCS) em termos de cuidado em saúde e acolhimento. Os atos de dar, receber e retribuir dádivas simbólicas de cuidado fornecem sociabilidade, reconhecimento e legitimidade no campo da saúde. O objetivo deste artigo é compreender o TI e as PCS como um sistema de troca de dádivas de cuidado em saúde que se estabelece entre pessoas diagnosticadas com fibromialgia e profissionais de saúde. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo realizado mediante aplicação de entrevista aberta e observação em campo com oito pessoas diagnosticadas com fibromialgia e questionário semiaberto com nove profissionais de saúde. A Análise do Conteúdo resultou na construção de uma categoria temática: “O ciclo da tripla obrigação da dádiva do cuidado em saúde”. A constituição da dádiva no processo de cuidado em saúde ocorreu mediante um deslocamento afetivo-terapêutico ao próximo, dom da hospitalidade e dom do reconhecimento. Em síntese, foi possível perceber a relevância do TI e das PCS como circuitos de reciprocidade capazes de construir novos usos sociais do corpo nas instâncias sociais da vida.

ABSTRACT Toxoplasmosis is an infection of vast worldwide distribution whose etiologic agent is Toxoplasma gondii. This disease can cause problems ranging from mild symptoms to serious conditions, such as encephalitis, miscarriage and blindness. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to perform a diagnosis with reproducible techniques in order to obtain a good prognosis. The aim of this review was to analyze the efficiency of toxoplasmosis diagnostic techniques based on sensitivity and specificity results. Five research platforms in English language were used (Eric, Elsevier, Google Scholar, PubMed and SciELO), which contained data on the diagnosis of toxoplasmosis. The search and selection were performed for studies published prior to June 2021. The search resulted in the inclusion of 13 articles published from 2005 to 2020. The data revealed the use of different samples in the standardization of techniques such as serum, total blood, colostrum and amniotic fluid. The flow cytometry, lateral flow immunoassay and qPCR techniques showed 100% sensitivity, whereas the ELISA, western blotting, qPCR and RE-LAMP techniques achieved 100% specificity. Significantly, the qPCR and LAMP techniques were more accurate when the likelihood ratio was assessed. The meta-analysis identified that ISAGA and western blotting have low sensitivity values and LIASON, ELFA and ELISA, using a silica bioconjugate, also have low specificity values. It was noted that a wide range of methods have high values of sensitivity and specificity. Therefore, the choice of the method will be based on the conditions and its financial viability.

Abstract This article analyzes the biographies of three riverine women whose research is based on their social roles in providing care through traditional medicine. Their “life stories” show their own perceptions of how they construct and reconstruct their healing practices to address illnesses, always involving interactions with the environment and with religious traditions (most notably pajelança, Catholicism and Pentecostalism). The islands of Murutucum and Combu in Belém are the anthropogenic environments in which these specialists reside and work, watershed ecosystems for several rivers in Pará and a small portion of the Amazon River that drain into the Atlantic Ocean. The traditional cures present on these islands were analyzed from the narratives of these three specialists over a period of almost two years, with incursions, interviews and various types of in situ observations. The social and environmental framework and different religious expressions are seen to directly influence the diagnosis and therapeutic treatment proposed by these women, who have different yet complementary knowledge despite inhabiting the same ecosystem and being part of the same social group.

Resumo Este artigo analisa biografias de três mulheres ribeirinhas que têm como base investigativa os seus papéis sociais no cuidar através da medicina tradicional. Seus ‘relatos de vida’ transparecem as suas próprias percepções na construção e reconstrução de suas práticas de cura no enfrentamento de doenças, sempre levando em consideração as interações construídas com o meio e com tradições religiosas – dentre as quais se destacam a pajelança, o catolicismo e o pentecostalismo. As ilhas belenenses do Murutucum e do Combu são os ambientes antropogênicos nos quais as especialistas residem e atuam, ecossistemas de deságue hidrográfico de diversos rios paraenses e uma pequena parte do rio Amazonas no oceano Atlântico. As tipologias de curas tradicionais presentes nas ilhas foram analisadas a partir das narrativas destas três especialistas, num período de quase dois anos, com incursões, entrevistas e diversos tipos de observações in situ. Ao final, pode-se perceber que o quadro social e ambiental, bem como as diferentes expressões religiosas manifestas influenciam diretamente no diagnóstico e no tratamento terapêutico proposto por essas mulheres – que, apesar de habitarem o mesmo ecossistema e integrarem um grupo social comum, possuem saberes distintos, contudo, complementares.

ABSTRACT Objective: To compare the nursing workload in an oncology intensive care unit according to the condition of COVID-19 infection. Method: A retrospective cohort study. The Nursing Activities Score was used to measure the workload and document analysis for data extraction. The medical records were divided into a group of patients with COVID-19 and another group of patients without the infection. Results: The values of the Nursing Activities Score were not different depending on the sociodemographic variables, but the average of this score was statistically different depending on whether the patient had the diagnosis of COVID-19 or not, being higher in those who had the disease. Conclusion: It was proved that the nursing workload is high in the context of the oncology intensive care unit. However, COVID-19 increased this score even more, with the Nursing Activities Score being an important tool to size the team in this context.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Comparar la carga de trabajo de enfermería en una unidad de cuidados intensivos oncológicos según el estado de infección por COVID-19. Método: Estudio de cohorte retrospectivo. El Nursing Activities Score se utilizó para medir la carga de trabajo y el análisis de documentos para la extracción de datos. Las historias clínicas se dividieron en pacientes con COVID-19 y pacientes sin la infección. Resultados: Los valores del Nursing Activities Score no fueron diferentes en función de las variables sociodemográficas, pero el promedio de este puntaje fue estadísticamente diferente en función de si el paciente tenía COVID-19 o no, siendo mayor en aquellos que lo tenían. Conclusión: Se comprobó que la carga de trabajo de enfermería es elevada en la unidad de terapia intensiva oncológica. Sin embargo, el COVID-19 aumentó aún más este puntaje, siendo el Nursing Activities Score una herramienta importante para dimensionar el equipo en este contexto.

RESUMO Objetivo: Comparar a carga de trabalho da enfermagem em unidade de terapia intensiva oncológica, de acordo com a condição de infecção por COVID-19. Método: Estudo do tipo coorte retrospectiva. Utilizaram-se do Nursing Activies Score para mensuração da carga de trabalho e da análise documental para extração dos dados. Os prontuários foram divididos em um grupo de pacientes com COVID-19 e outro grupo de pacientes sem a infecção. Resultados: Os valores do Nursing Activies Score não foram diferentes, conforme as variáveis sociodemográficas, porém a média deste escore foi estatisticamente diferente a depender de o paciente apresentar ou não o diagnóstico de COVID-19, sendo superior naqueles que possuíam a doença. Conclusão: Comprovou-se que a carga de trabalho da enfermagem foi alta no contexto da unidade de terapia intensiva oncológica. No entanto, a COVID-19 aumentou ainda mais este escore, sendo o Nursing Activies Score importante ferramenta para dimensionar a equipe nesse contexto.

ABSTRACT The use of longitudinal measurements is an essential practice both in Psidium guajava L. breeding and in other perennial crops in which covariance structures can be introduced to explain the form of dependence between measurements. Hence, this study aimed to analyze six covariance structures to identify one that best described the correlation between the repeated measurements in time in traits of guava full-sib families. The repeatability coefficient for each trait was estimated and the minimum number of evaluations required for estimates representing the population was determined. The work was performed based on average data of three yield-related variables from nine harvests of a guava tree population evaluated from 2011 to 2018. The best model was chosen based on the Akaike and Schwarz Bayesian information criterion. The autoregressive covariance structure best represented the dependencies among families between crops for all traits. The number of variables of fruits and total yield per plant presented repeatability estimates higher than 0.5 and may be essential traits for indirect selection of others, such as fruit mass, which had an estimated repeatability of 0.24, proving low regularity in the repetition of the character from one cycle to another. It was also possible to define four harvests as the minimum acceptable number of observations necessary on the same individual for these traits; therefore, the repetitions represented the individuals.

This study focused on the effects of different peak (austenitizing) temperatures (Tp) over the martensite start temperature (Ms) and its influence on the final residual stresses after welding simulation. For this purpose, the expansion coefficients obtained through physical (dilatometric) simulations of a high-strength low-alloy steel were considered for three peak temperatures: 1300 °C, 1150 °C, and 920 °C and a cooling rate of 25 °C/s. Aiming at clarifying the physical phenomenon behind GTAW welding, one carried out nonlinear transient thermomechanical finite-element (FE) analyses to reconstitute the welding process and simulate the subsequent formation of residual stresses in the HAZ. Once the heat source simulation was calibrated, four material models were created, one for each Tp, and a fourth model considering a constant expansion coefficient, without considering the martensite transformation for comparison. A Three-bar model was evaluated to isolate the effects of Tp (Ms) in the residual stresses. A composite plate model was also considered, in which the sheet HAZ was subdivided according to the reached peak temperature, and the respective material models were applied. The results show the importance of martensite transformation on the welding-induced residual stress and a clear trend of decreasing tensions with lowering the Tp, especially over HAZ.

ABSTRACT Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that results in dysfunction of the CF transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein, which is a chloride and bicarbonate channel expressed in the apical portion of epithelial cells of various organs. Dysfunction of that protein results in diverse clinical manifestations, primarily involving the respiratory and gastrointestinal systems, impairing quality of life and reducing life expectancy. Although CF is still an incurable pathology, the therapeutic and prognostic perspectives are now totally different and much more favorable. The purpose of these guidelines is to define evidence-based recommendations regarding the use of pharmacological agents in the treatment of the pulmonary symptoms of CF in Brazil. Questions in the Patients of interest, Intervention to be studied, Comparison of interventions, and Outcome of interest (PICO) format were employed to address aspects related to the use of modulators of this protein (ivacaftor, lumacaftor+ivacaftor, and tezacaftor+ivacaftor), use of dornase alfa, eradication therapy and chronic suppression of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and eradication of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Burkholderia cepacia complex. To formulate the PICO questions, a group of Brazilian specialists was assembled and a systematic review was carried out on the themes, with meta-analysis when applicable. The results obtained were analyzed in terms of the strength of the evidence compiled, the recommendations being devised by employing the GRADE approach. We believe that these guidelines represent a major advance to be incorporated into the approach to patients with CF, mainly aiming to favor the management of the disease, and could become an auxiliary tool in the definition of public policies related to CF.

RESUMO A fibrose cística (FC) é uma doença genética que resulta em disfunção da proteína reguladora de condutância transmembrana da FC (CFTR), que é um canal de cloro e bicarbonato expresso na porção apical de células epiteliais de diversos órgãos. A disfunção dessa proteína resulta em manifestações clínicas diversas, envolvendo primariamente os sistemas respiratório e gastrointestinal com redução da qualidade e expectativa de vida. A FC ainda é uma patologia incurável, porém o horizonte terapêutico e prognóstico é hoje totalmente distinto e muito mais favorável. O objetivo destas diretrizes foi definir recomendações brasileiras baseadas em evidências em relação ao emprego de agentes farmacológicos no tratamento pulmonar da FC. As perguntas PICO (acrônimo baseado em perguntas referentes aos Pacientes de interesse, Intervenção a ser estudada, Comparação da intervenção e Outcome [desfecho] de interesse) abordaram aspectos relativos ao uso de moduladores de CFTR (ivacaftor, lumacaftor + ivacaftor e tezacaftor + ivacaftor), uso de dornase alfa, terapia de erradicação e supressão crônica de Pseudomonas aeruginosa, e erradicação de Staphylococcus aureus resistente a meticilina e do complexo Burkholderia cepacia. Para a formulação das perguntas, um grupo de especialistas brasileiros foi reunido e realizou-se uma revisão sistemática sobre os temas, com meta-análise quando aplicável. Os resultados encontrados foram analisados quanto à força das evidências compiladas, sendo concebidas recomendações seguindo a metodologia GRADE. Os autores acreditam que o presente documento represente um importante avanço a ser incorporado na abordagem de pacientes com FC, objetivando principalmente favorecer seu manejo, podendo se tornar uma ferramenta auxiliar na definição de políticas públicas relacionadas à FC.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Given the incipience of domestic studies on hope and spirituality in cardiology, this study evaluated adult cardiac patients’ hope in the preoperative period of cardiac surgery and its potential association with spirituality. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study carried out at a university hospital in the State of São Paulo (Brazil). A total of 70 patients answered the Herth Hope Scale and a sociodemographic questionnaire before undergoing surgical procedure between January and October 2018. Descriptive and inferential analyses were performed using the Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient and the Mann-Whitney U test. The R-3.4.1 software and SAS System for Windows 9.2 were also used. P-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Patients had a high prevalence of modifiable risk factors. Having a religion (37.53±4.57) and practicing it (38.79±4.25), regardless of its denomination and time dedicated to that religion, was associated with hope (P<0.01) in the immediate preoperative period of cardiac surgery. However, hope did not exhibit a significant correlation with factors such as age (P=0.09) and time dedicated to religious practice (P=0.07). Conclusion: Regardless of the religious strand and time dedicated to religious practices as an expression of spirituality, hope was associated with the participants’ religion and religiosity. Considering the importance of this construct on the processes of health and disease, the whole health team should consider in their praxis a setting of conditions to make the patient’s spirituality process feasible during hospitalization.

ABSTRACT Purpose To assess the performance of the phonatory deviation diagram and its measurements in monitoring voice quality before and after voice exercise in individuals with Parkinson's Disease. Methods Retrospective and documentary study. A sample of 30 subjects was used, 50% male, with a mean age of 62.13 ± 9.05 years. The results of the phonatory deviation diagram were analyzed, in the moments before and after vocal exercise with the pushing technique associated with plosive sounds, considering the area, density, shape and location of the diagram in the quadrants. For comparison purposes, the acoustic parameters of jitter, shimmer, glottal to noise excitation ratio and results of the auditory-perceptual analysis, carried out in previous research, were also considered, in the pre- and post-technical moments. Results Despite the fact that there was no difference in the distribution of samples in the diagram, after performing the vocal technique, a change in the displacement of the diagram towards the area of normality was identified in the visual qualitative analysis, and there was an association between the general degree of vocal deviation in the analysis auditory perception and the area of the diagram. There was an improvement in the shimmer values after the vocal technique. Conclusion The displacement of the phonatory deviation diagram towards the area of normality corroborated the results in relation to the general degree of dysphonia, evaluated by the auditory-perceptual analysis and the shimmer results, after the vocal technique. Thus, the diagram shows good performance in monitoring voice quality of individuals with Parkinson’s.

RESUMO Objetivo Verificar o desempenho do diagrama de desvio fonatório e de suas medidas no monitoramento da qualidade da voz, pré e pós exercício vocal, em indivíduos com Doença de Parkinson. Método Estudo retrospectivo e documental. Utilizou-se uma amostra de 30 sujeitos, sendo 50% do sexo masculino, com média de idade de 62,13 ± 9,05 anos. Foram analisados os resultados do diagrama de desvio fonatório, nos momentos pré e pós exercício vocal com a técnica de empuxo associada aos sons plosivos, considerando-se a área, densidade, forma e localização do diagrama nos quadrantes. Para fins de comparação, os parâmetros acústicos de jitter, shimmer, glottal to noise excitation ratio e resultados da análise perceptivo-auditiva, realizada em pesquisa anterior, também foram considerados, nos momentos pré e pós-técnica. Resultados A despeito de não ocorrer diferença na distribuição das amostras no diagrama, após realização da técnica vocal, foi identificada, na análise qualitativa visual, mudança no deslocamento do diagrama em direção à área de normalidade e houve associação entre o grau geral do desvio vocal da análise perceptivoauditiva e a área do diagrama. Houve melhora nos valores de shimmer, após a técnica vocal. Conclusão O deslocamento do diagrama de desvio fonatório em direção à área de normalidade corroborou os resultados em relação ao grau geral de disfonia avaliado pela análise perceptivoauditiva e os resultados de shimmer, após a técnica vocal empregada. Desse modo, o diagrama de desvio fonatório apresentou bom desempenho no monitoramento da qualidade vocal de indivíduos com Parkinson.

Abstract Objective To translate and cross-culturally adapt the Parental Perception on Antibiotics Scale (PAPA scale) for use in Brazil and assess the reliability of the Portuguese version. Methods This is a methodological study for PAPA scale translation and cross-cultural adaptation, developed in six stages, which include initial translation, synthesis of translations, back-translation, review by a committee of seven experts, application of a pre-test of the final version with 73 parents/guardians and submission for approval by the author of the original instrument, as recommended by Beaton. In addition to reliability, we used Cronbach’s alpha, considering adequate > 0.7. Results The translated and adapted version of PAPA scale was modified according to experts’ suggestions for a better understanding of the target population. The pre-test showed that it is an instrument that is easy to apply and understand. The 36-item scale internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha) was 0.86. Conclusion PAPA scale translation and cross-cultural adaptation resulted in the first instrument to assess parents’ and/or guardians’ perception regarding using antibiotics at home by their children in the Brazilian context.

Resumen Objetivo Traducir y adaptar transculturalmente, para su uso en Brasil, la Parental Perception on Antibiotics Scale (PAPA Scale) y evaluar la fiabilidad de la versión en portugués. Métodos Estudio metodológico para traducción y adaptación transcultural de la PAPA Scale, llevado a cabo en seis etapas, que incluyeron traducción inicial, síntesis de la traducción, traducción de vuelta al idioma original (back-translation), revisión por parte de un comité de siete especialistas, aplicación de una prueba piloto de la versión final con 73 padres/responsables y envío para aprobación por parte de la autora del instrumento original, según las recomendaciones de Beaton. Además de la fiabilidad, mediante el Alfa de Cronbach, considerando adecuado > 0,7. Resultados La versión traducida y adaptada de la PAPA Scale fue modificada de acuerdo con las sugerencias de los especialistas para una mejor comprensión del público destinatario. La realización de la prueba piloto demostró que se trata de un instrumento de fácil aplicación y comprensión. La consistencia interna (Alfa de Cronbach) de la escala con 36 ítems fue de 0,86. Conclusión El proceso de traducción y adaptación transcultural de la PAPA Scale dio como resultado el primer instrumento para evaluar la percepción de los padres o responsables con relación al uso de antibióticos de sus niños en el domicilio, en el contexto brasileño.

Métodos Estudo metodológico para tradução e adaptação transcultural da PAPA Scale, desenvolvido em seis etapas, que abrangem tradução inicial, síntese da tradução, tradução de volta a língua original (back-translation), revisão por um comitê de sete especialistas, aplicação de um pré-teste da versão final com 73 pais/responsáveis e envio para aprovação da autora do instrumento original, conforme recomendações de Beaton. Além da confiabilidade, por meio do Alfa de Cronbach, considerando adequado > 0,7. Resultados A versão traduzida e adaptada da PAPA Scale foi modificada conforme as sugestões dos especialistas para melhor compreensão da população alvo. A realização do pré-teste demonstrou que se trata de um instrumento de fácil aplicação e compreensão. A consistência interna (Alfa de Cronbach) da escala com 36 itens foi de 0,86. Conclusão O processo de tradução e adaptação transcultural da PAPA Scale resultou no primeiro instrumento para avaliação da percepção dos pais e/ou responsáveis em relação ao uso de antibióticos em domicílio, por suas crianças, no contexto brasileiro.

ABSTRACT We analyse the conceptual and methodological approaches taken by Brazilian research on the Dual Career (DC). We conducted a narrative review of published studies between 2018 and 2023; we analysed them based on the methodological approach, the concept used, and their basic premises that support research. We observe that DC is viewed as the form of combining routines by Brazilian researchers, conducting debate from their theoretical perspectives. Still, we note little engagement among these researchers to provide a combination approach to deep knowledge about DC and their issues with managing student-athletes schedules. So, we suggest more interaction among Brazilian research groups, seeking consensus to adopt holistic research methods that aid in understanding the DC complexity.

RESUMEN Ese artículo analizó cómo las recientes publicaciones se acercaron conceptual y metodológicamente a la Carrera Dual (CD) en Brasil. Revisamos los artículos desde 2018 a 2023, y los analizamos a través de sus metodologías, conceptos y premisas teóricas que los basaron los investigadores. Observamos que la CD fue acercada como la manera de compaginar rutinas y los investigadores conducían al debate desde sus perspectivas teóricas. También notamos poco involucro entre los investigadores, lo que puede limitar la interpretación a cerca de la CD y la manera de compaginar a las agendas de los estudiantes-deportistas. Por lo tanto, sugerimos una interacción entre los investigadores brasileños, buscando acuerdos para adoptar metodologías holísticas para comprender el fenómeno de la CD.

RESUMO Este artigo analisou como as publicações sobre dupla carreira (DC) no Brasil abordaram esse tema conceitualmente e metodologicamente. Realizamos uma revisão narrativa dos estudos publicados entre 2018 e 2023, e os analisamos a partir dos tipos de abordagens metodológicas, os conceitos e o direcionamento dessas pesquisas brasileiras. Notamos que a DC é vista como objeto de conciliação de rotinas a partir das idiossincrasias de cada grupo de investigação, carecendo de aprofundamento sobre possíveis causas para má gestão das agendas do estudante-atleta. Sugerimos uma maior interação entre os grupos de pesquisa, buscando mínimos consensos entre os investigadores sobre a noção de DC tal como a adoção de métodos holísticos que auxiliem a captar a complexidade desse fenômeno social.
