ABSTRACT Leaf litter decomposition and the release of nutrients from macauba palm leaves play a major role in nutrient return to the soil in a conservation environment. This study evaluated macauba palm leaf decomposition, macronutrient contents and biochemical composition under contrasting water conditions in the Brazilian Cerrado. Macauba leaves were collected from plants in two different environments (low and high water table conditions), placed in litter bags and evaluated according to their decomposition, macronutrients, lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose for 420 days. In addition, green and dry leaves were collected for macronutrient analyses. Litter decomposition ranged between 49 % and 59 % up to 180 days. The half-life of litter ranged from 141 to 198 days. The leaf litter decomposition of macauba was practically stable during the dry season, whereas at the beginning of the rainy season, decomposition resumed. Nitrogen, P and S were higher in the green leaves, whereas the Ca levels were higher in the dry leaves. In addition, the K levels were twofold higher in the green leaves than in the dry leaves. Lignin release from macauba residues was slower than cellulose and hemicellulose. The decomposition rates of hemicellulose were higher initially due to its high solubility, although it gradually decreased with the decomposition process. Lignin decomposition was also higher at the beginning of the process but stabilized during the drought period. The study indicates that the decomposition process and nutrient cycling of macauba are influenced by its biochemical composition.

RESUMO: Os objetivos deste estudo foram analisar a interferência do tamanho amostral no teste de não aditividade de Tukey e encontrar o tamanho de amostra para otimizar o teste para a produtividade de grãos em soja. Seis experimentos em delineamento de blocos ao acaso foram conduzidos com 20 ou 30 cultivares de soja em três repetições de cada tratamento. A produtividade de grãos foi definida por planta, totalizando 9.000 plantas amostradas. A seguir, foram simulados cenários amostrais de até 100 plantas, estimando a estatística F para um grau de liberdade do erro em cada cenário. Após, foi definido o tamanho amostral ótimo via modelos de potência e pontos de máxima curvatura. Os resultados mostram que o número de plantas amostradas por unidade experimental influencia as estimativas do teste de não aditividade de Tukey. Além disso, a amostragem de 14 a 19 plantas por unidade experimental possibilita manter a acurácia do teste.

ABSTRACT: This study analyzed the interference of sample size on Tukey’s test for non-additivity and found the sample size to optimize the test for soybean grain yield. Six experiments were conducted in a completely randomized block design with either 20 or 30 cultivars and three repetitions of each treatment. Grain yield was determined per plant, totaling 9,000 sampled plants. Next, sample scenarios up to 100 plants were simulated, estimating F statistic for a degree of freedom of the error in each scenario. After that, the optimal sample size was defined via power models and maximum curvature point. Results showed the number of sampled plants per experimental unit influences the estimates of Tukey’s test for non-additivity. Also, the sampling of 14 to 19 plants per experimental unit allows for maintaining the accuracy of the test.

RESUMO: Os objetivos deste estudo foram analisar a resposta do teste de Bartlett em função do tamanho de amostra e definir o tamanho amostral ótimo para o teste com dados de produtividade de grãos de soja. Foram conduzidos seis experimentos em delineamento de blocos ao acaso com 20 ou 30 cultivares e três repetições. A produtividade de grãos foi definida por planta, totalizando 9.000 plantas amostradas. Logo, foram simulados cenários amostrais de 1, 2, ..., 100 plantas e definido o tamanho amostral ótimo via pontos de máxima curvatura. O aumento de plantas amostradas por unidade experimental favorece a precisão do teste de Bartlett. Além disso, a amostragem de 17 a 20 plantas por unidade experimental é suficiente para manter a acurácia do teste.

ABSTRACT: This study analyzed the response of the Bartlett test as a function of sample size and to define the optimal sample size for the test with soybean grain yield data. Six experiments were conducted in a randomized block design with 20 or 30 cultivars and three repetitions. Grain yield was determined per plant, totaling 9,000 sampled plants. Next, sample scenarios of 1, 2, ..., 100 plants were simulated and the optimal sample size was defined via maximum curvature points. The increase in sampled plants per experimental unit favors Bartlett test’s precision. Also, the sampling of 17 to 20 plants per experimental unit is enough to maintain the accuracy of the test.

Resumo Introdução As escolhas alimentares podem ser influenciadas por apoio social e capital social. Objetivo Investigar as relações do apoio social e capital social com o consumo alimentar. Método Trata-se de um estudo transversal, de base populacional, com uma amostra aleatória de 1.098 adultos (≥ 18 anos de idade) de uma cidade no Sul do Brasil. O apoio social foi mensurado por meio da escala Medical Outcomes Study (MOS), e o capital social contemplou a avaliação dos indicadores de coesão social, apoio dos vizinhos, controle social informal, eficácia política e ação social. Para o consumo alimentar, utilizou-se de uma escala com base nas orientações do guia alimentar para a população brasileira. Resultados A média de idade da amostra foi de 44 anos (DP[Desvio-padrão] = 15,8), e identificou-se um consumo alimentar adequado em 38,6% (IC95%: 35,7 a 41,5). Após ajuste, observou-se uma probabilidade 40% maior para adoção de consumo alimentar adequado (saudável) entre os indivíduos com maior nível de apoio social (OR = 1,47; IC95%: 1,07 a 2,03), coesão social (OR = 1,40; IC95%: 1,02 a 1,92) e apoio dos vizinhos (OR = 1,45; IC95%: 1,04 a 2,02). Conclusão Os aspectos psicossociais, tanto individual quanto contextual, podem desempenhar um papel importante no consumo alimentar saudável em adultos.

Abstract Background Food choices can be influenced by psychosocial factors. Objective To investigate the relationships between social support and social capital with food consumption. Method This is a population-based cross-sectional study with a random sample of 1098 adults (≥18 years old) from a medium-sized city in southern Brazil. Social support was measured by Medical Outocomes Study (MOS) scale and social capital was assessed by social cohesion, neighbor support, informal social control, political effectiveness, and social action. For the assessment of food consumption was applied a scale based on the food guide for the Brazilian population. Results The mean age of the sample was 44 years (SD [Standard Deviation] = 15.8) and adequate food consumption was identified in 38.6% (95% CI: 35.7 to 41.5). After adjustment, there was a 40% higher probability of adopting adequate (healthy) food consumption among individuals with higher level of social support (OR = 1.47; 95% CI: 1.07 to 2.03), cohesion. social (OR = 1.40; 95% CI: 1.02 to 1.92) and support from neighbors (OR = 1.45; 95% CI: 1.04 to 2.02). Conclusion Both individual and contextual psychosocial aspects can play an important role in healthy food consumption in adults.

Abstract The objective of the study was to evaluate the growth of B. vulgaris seedlings by incorporating five doses of sewage sludge (0, 10, 30, 50, and 70%) into the substrate, with three types of propagules. The design used was completely randomized (DIC), with 30 replicates per treatment. At 30 and 90 days, the parameters were measured: height, number of shoots, and the dry mass of the roots and aerial part. The means were compared by the Scott-Knott test. It was found that the incorporation of sewage sludge was not detrimental to the growth and development of the seedlings. Concerning the three types of propagules, the highlight was P1, which was more promising in the seedling production via cuttings. The most indicated sewage sludge dosage is the incorporation of 30% since it showed higher growth of seedlings. With dry mass, from the aerial part, the highlight was the propagulum P2, followed by P1. Root dry mass values were low in all treatments evaluated, suggesting the need for a longer evaluation time in the development and establishment of bamboo seedlings in a nursery.

Resumo O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o crescimento de mudas de B. vulgaris através da incorporação cinco doses de lodo de esgoto (0, 10, 30, 50 e 70%) ao substrato, com três tipos de propágulos. O delineamento utilizado foi inteiramente casualizado (DIC), com 30 repetições por tratamento. Aos 30 e 90 dias foram mensurados os parámetros: altura, número de brotos, e a massa seca das raízes e parte aérea. As médias foram comparadas pelo teste Scott-Knott. Verificou-se que a incorporação de lodo de esgoto não foi prejudicial ao crescimento e desenvolvimento das mudas. Em relação aos três tipos de propágulos o destaque foi P1, que se mostrou mais promissor à produção de mudas via estaquia. Para a dosagem de lodo de esgoto mais indicada é a incorporação de 30%, uma vez que apresentou maior crescimento das mudas. Em relação a massa seca, da parte aérea o destaque foi o propágulo P2, seguido de P1. Já os valores da massa seca de raiz foram baixos em todos os tratamentos avaliados, o que sugere a necessidade de um maior tempo de avaliação no desenvolvimento e estabelecimento das mudas de bambu em viveiro.

RESUMO: O girassol produz aquênios e óleo de qualidade, além de servir para produção de silagem, forragem e biodiesel. A modelagem de crescimento permite conhecer o padrão de crescimento da cultura e otimizar o manejo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi caracterizar o crescimento da cultivar de girassol Rhino por meio dos modelos Logístico e Gompertz e fazer considerações a respeito do manejo com base em pontos críticos. Os dados utilizados são oriundos de três ensaios de uniformidade com a cultivar de girassol confeiteiro Rhino, conduzidos na área experimental da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, Campus Frederico Westphalen, na safra 2019/2020. Foram realizadas 14, 12 e 10 avaliações semanais de altura em 10 plantas, respectivamente, no primeiro, segundo e terceiro ensaio. Os dados foram ajustados em função da soma térmica acumulada. Os parâmetros foram estimados por meio do método dos mínimos quadrados ordinários, usando o algoritmo de Gauss-Newton. A qualidade de ajuste dos modelos aos dados foi medida pelo coeficiente de determinação ajustado, critério de determinação de Akaike, critério bayesiano de informação, e por meio da não linearidade intrínseca e paramétrica. Foram determinados os pontos de inflexão (IP), máxima aceleração (MAP), máxima desaceleração (MDP) e desaceleração assintótica (ADP). As análises estatísticas foram realizadas com Microsoft Office Excel® e o software R. Os modelos descreveram de forma satisfatória a curva de crescimento da altura do girassol, fornecendo parâmetros com interpretações práticas. O modelo Logístico apresenta melhor qualidade de ajuste, sendo o mais adequado para caracterização da curva de crescimento. Os pontos críticos estimados fornecem informações importantes para o manejo da cultura. As plantas daninhas devem ser controladas até o MAP. As aplicações de fertilizantes em cobertura devem ser realizadas entre MAP e IP. O ADP é um indicador de maturidade, após atingir este ponto, as plantas podem ser colhidas para a produção de silagem sem perda de volume e qualidade.

ABSTRACT: Sunflower produces achenes and oil of good quality, besides serving for production of silage, forage and biodiesel. Growth modeling allows knowing the growth pattern of the crop and optimizing the management. The research characterized the growth of the Rhino sunflower cultivar using the Logistic and Gompertz models and to make considerations regarding management based on critical points. The data used come from three uniformity trials with the Rhino confectionery sunflower cultivar carried out in the experimental area of the Federal University of Santa Maria - Campus Frederico Westphalen in the 2019/2020 agricultural harvest. In the first, second and third trials 14, 12 and 10 weekly height evaluations were performed on 10 plants, respectively. The data were adjusted for the thermal time accumulated. The parameters were estimated by ordinary least square’s method using the Gauss-Newton algorithm. The fitting quality of the models to the data was measured by the adjusted coefficient of determination, Akaike information criterion, Bayesian information criterion, and through intrinsic and parametric nonlinearity. The inflection points (IP), maximum acceleration (MAP), maximum deceleration (MDP) and asymptotic deceleration (ADP) were determined. Statistical analyses were performed with Microsoft Office Excel® and R software. The models satisfactorily described the height growth curve of sunflower, providing parameters with practical interpretations. The Logistics model has the best fitting quality, being the most suitable for characterizing the growth curve. The estimated critical points provide important information for crop management. Weeds must be controlled until the MAP. Covered fertilizer applications must be carried out between the MAP and IP range. ADP is an indicator of maturity, after reaching this point, the plants can be harvested for the production of silage without loss of volume and quality.

Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi definir o tamanho ótimo de parcela e o número de repetições para a avaliação da massa de matéria fresca de híbridos de sorgo (Sorghum bicolor). Trinta e dois ensaios de uniformidade foram realizados com dois híbridos, em duas datas de semeadura e quatro períodos de avaliação. Cada ensaio foi dividido em 48 unidades experimentais básicas (UEBs) de 0,5 m2, e a massa de matéria fresca foi determinada para cada UEB. Calcularam-se a média, a variância, o coeficiente de variação, o coeficiente de autocorrelação espacial de primeira ordem, o tamanho ótimo de parcela e o coeficiente de variação do tamanho ótimo de parcela. O número de repetições foi determinado com base no maior tamanho de parcela, por meio de um processo iterativo, para as combinações de número de tratamentos e de diferenças entre médias a serem detectadas como significativas pelo teste de Tukey, a 5% de probabilidade. O tamanho ótimo de parcela oscilou entre 1,79 e 2,58 m2, e o número de repetições entre 2,6 (~3) e 49,2 (~50). O t a m a n ho óti mo de pa rcela é de 2, 58 m 2, e cinco repetições são suficientes para identificar como significativas as diferenças entre médias de tratamentos de 35%.

Abstract The objective of this work was to define the optimal plot size and number of replicates for the evaluation of the fresh weight of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) hybrids. Thirty-two uniformity trials were carried out with two hybrids, in two sowing dates and four evaluation periods. Each trial was divided into 48 basic experimental units (BEUs) of 0.5 m2, and fresh weight was determined for each BEU. The mean, variance, coefficient of variation, first-order spatial autocorrelation coefficient, optimal plot size, and coefficient of variation of the optimal plot size were calculated. The number of replicates was determined on the basis of the largest calculated plot size, through an iterative process, for the combinations of number of treatments and differences among means to be detected as significant by Tukey’s test, at 5% probability. The optimal plot size ranged from 1.79 to 2.58 m2, and the number of replicates from 2.6 (~3) to 49.2 (~50). The optimal plot size is 2.58 m2, and five replicates are sufficient to identify as significant the differences between treatment means of 35%.

RESUMO: A área foliar é uma importante variável de crescimento em culturas agrícolas, sendo a folha a principal variável de interesse na indústria do tabaco. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo científico foi determinar a área foliar de tabaco tipo Burley por meio de dimensões lineares da folha e determinar qual modelo matemático é mais adequado para essa finalidade. Dois experimentos foram conduzidos com tabaco tipo Burley, cultivar DBH 2252, nos anos agrícolas de 2016/2017 e 2018/2019, respectivamente, nos municípios de Itaqui e Vanini, RS, Brasil. Em 600 folhas foram medidos o comprimento (L), a largura (W), o produto comprimento×largura (LW), a razão comprimento/largura (L/W) e determinada a área foliar real (LA). Foram separadas 450 folhas para a geração de modelos de estimativa de área foliar em função da dimensão linear e 150 folhas foram utilizadas para a validação dos modelos. O modelo LA = 0,5037LW1,04435 (R² = 0,9960) é adequado para a estimação da área foliar de tabaco Burley cultivar DBH 2252. Alternativamente, os modelos LA=2,0369W1,8619 (R²=0,9796) e LA=0,1222L2,2771 (R²=0,9738) baseados na largura e comprimento, respectivamente, podem ser utilizados quando apenas uma dimensão da folha é medida.

ABSTRACT: Leaf area is an important growth variable in agricultural crops and the leaf is the main variable of interest in the tobacco industry. So, the aim of this scientific research was to estimate the Burley tobacco leaf area by linear dimensions of the leaves and to determine which mathematical model is more adequate for this purpose. Two experiments were carried out with Burley tobacco, cultivar DBH 2252, in 2016/2017 and 2018/2019 agricultural years, respectively, in the municipalities of Itaqui and Vanini - RS - Brazil. In 600 leaves were measured length (L), width (W), length×width product (LW), length/width ratio (L/W) and determined the real leaf area (LA). Four hundred and fifty leaves were separated to generate models of the leaf area as a function of linear dimension and the other 150 leaves were used for model’s validation. The power model LA = 0.5037LW1.04435 (R² = 0.9960) is the most adequate for Burley tobacco ‘DBH 2252’ leaf area estimation. Alternatively, the models LA=2.0369W1.8619 (R²=0.9796) and LA=0.1222L2.2771 (R²=0.9738) based on width and length, respectively, can be used when only one leaf dimension is measured.

RESUMO: Objetivo: Caracterizar padrões espaçotemporais de indicadores operacionais de controle da hanseníase no estado da Bahia no período de 2001 a 2014. Metodologia: Estudo ecológico, de base populacional, com distribuição e autocorrelação espacial de indicadores operacionais da hanseníase. Resultados: No período de 2001 a 2007, 42,7% (n = 178) dos municípios apresentaram percentual de cura inferior a 75%, ampliando para 61,4% (n = 291) de 2009 a 2014. De 2001 a 2007, 32,5% (n = 54) dos municípios notificaram mais de 10% do total de casos de recidiva do estado, com aumento para 36,9% (n = 75) dessa situação no período de 2008 a 2014. De 2001 a 2014, em 38% (n = 159) dos municípios, o indicador de avaliação do grau de incapacidade física (GIF) no momento do diagnóstico se encontrava conforme o parâmetro regular de desempenho. Já no período de 2009 a 2014, houve aumento de municípios com alta ocorrência de GIF2 no momento do diagnóstico, atingindo 55,3% (n = 230) dos municípios. A maioria dos municípios do estado da Bahia apresentou desempenho insatisfatório na execução das ações de controle previstas para a hanseníase, com pouca mudança ou relativa piora nos padrões de indicadores operacionais ao longo da série histórica. Conclusão: O contexto operacional do estado da Bahia sinaliza graves dimensões de vulnerabilidade institucional, o que implica necessariamente a ampliação e a qualificação da rede de vigilância e atenção à saúde nas diferentes regiões e contextos analisados do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS).

Between 2001 and 2007, 32.5% (n=54) of the municipalities reported more than 10% of the total number of relapses in the state, increasing to 36.9% (n=75) between 2008 and 2014. From 2001 to 2014, 38% (n=159) of the municipalities presented an assessment index of disability grading at the time of diagnosis within the regular performance parameter. Between 2009 and 2014, the number of municipalities with a high incidence of grade 2 disability (G2D) at the time of diagnosis increased, reaching 55.3% (n=230) of the municipalities. Most municipalities in the state of Bahia showed poor performance in the implementation of planned actions for leprosy control, with little change or relative worsening in the patterns of operational indicators throughout the historical series. Conclusion: The operational context in Bahia indicates significant institutional vulnerability, leading to the need for expansion and qualification of the surveillance and health care network in the different regions and conditions analyzed in the public health system (Sistema Único de Saúde - SUS).

RESUMO: O cruzamento das culturas de trigo e centeio resultou na obtenção da cultura do triticale, que apresenta rusticidade, versatilidade na alimentação animal e humana e possibilidade de uso como planta de cobertura. O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar o tamanho ótimo de parcela e o número de repetições para avaliar a massa verde de triticale em dois momentos de avaliação. Foi conduzido um experimento com a cultivar de triticale IPR111, sendo a área experimental dividida em 48 ensaios de uniformidade, cada ensaio contendo 36 unidades experimentais básicas de 0,51 m2. A massa verde foi avaliada em 24 ensaios aos 99 dias após a semeadura (DAS ) e em 24 ensaios aos 127 DAS. O tamanho ótimo de parcela foi determinado pelo método da máxima curvatura do coeficiente de variação e o número de repetições foi determinado em combinações de número de tratamentos e de diferenças entre médias a serem detectadas como significativas pelo teste de Tukey. Para determinar a massa verde de triticale, o tamanho ótimo de parcela é de 3,12 m2 com coeficiente de variação de 13,69%. Seis repetições são suficientes para identificar como significativas, diferenças entre médias de tratamentos de 25% para experimentos com até sete tratamentos e de 30% para experimentos com até 28 tratamentos, independentemente do delineamento experimental.

ABSTRACT: The hybridization between wheat and rye crops resulted in the triticale crop, which presents rusticity, versatility in animal and human food and possibility of use as a cover plant. The objective of this research was to determine the optimal plot size and the replications number to evaluate the fresh weight of triticale in two evaluation moments. An experiment was carried out with the triticale cultivar IPR111. The experimental area was divided into 48 uniformity trials, each containing 36 basic experimental units of 0.51 m2. The fresh weight was evaluated in 24 uniformity trials at 99 days after sowing (DAS) and in 24 uniformity trials at 127 DAS. The optimal plot size was determined by the method of the maximum curvature of the coefficient of variation and the replications number was determined in scenarios of treatments number and differences between means to be detected as significant by Tukey test. To determine the fresh weight of triticale, the optimal plot size is 3.12 m2, with coefficient of variation of 13.69%. Six replications are sufficient to identify as significant, differences between treatment means of 25% for experiments with up to seven treatments and of 30% for experiments with up to 28 treatments, regardless of the experimental design.

RESUMO Com a existente redução da cobertura vegetal do Cerrado, diversas espécies arbóreas têm suas áreas de ocorrência diminuídas e como consequência perdem parte de sua diversidade genética. Para contrapor este cenário faz-se necessário conhecer a diversidade genética afim de embasar projetos e medidas práticas de conservação. Assim, este trabalho teve como objetivo investigar a variabilidade genética populacional de Annona crassiflora por meio de dados morfométricos de frutos e sementes em quatro populações no Brasil central. No total foram obtidos 152 frutos de 73 matrizes dos quais foram medidos a altura, diâmetro, massa do fruto, massa de 100 sementes e número de sementes por fruto. Os frutos foram despolpados e as semente retiradas para se medir a altura, largura e espessura. O estudo de cluster hierárquico mostrou o agrupamento de 11 pequenos grupos e dois grandes grupos, sendo que nestes dois grandes grupos há representantes das quatro populações amostradas. Isso mostra que não há uma divisão específica das populações, indicando alta variabilidade genética. Os frutos da população de Buritis foram, via de regra, significativamente maiores que das outras populações o que pode evidenciar distanciamento genético ou diferentes condições ambientais de polinização. Este padrão não foi observado nas analise das dimensões das sementes, embora tenha havido diferença estatística entre as populações. De forma geral as maiores dimensões foram encontradas nas populações de Planaltina e Buritis. Diante disso as análises indicam alta diversidade genética e frutos/sementes com dimensões maiores nos locais com melhor estado de conservação.

ABSTRACT With the existing reduction of the vegetation cover of the Cerrado, several tree species have their areas of occurrence diminished, and as a consequence, they lose part of their genetic diversity. To counter this scenario it is necessary to know the genetic diversity in order to base projects and practical conservation measures. Thus, the objective of this work was to investigate the genetic variability of Annona crassiflora by means of morphometric data of fruits and seeds in four populations in central Brazil. In total, 152 fruits were obtained from 73 matrices, of which the height, diameter, fruit mass, mass of 100 seeds and number of seeds per fruit were measured. The fruits were stripped and the seed removed to measure their height, width and thickness. The hierarchical cluster study showed the grouping of 11 small groups and two large groups, and in these two large groups there are representatives of the four populations sampled. This shows that there is no specific division of populations, indicating high genetic variability. The fruits of the Buritis population were, as a rule, significantly larger than those of other populations, which may indicate genetic distancing or different environmental conditions of pollination and dispersion. This pattern was not observed in the seed size analysis, although there was a statistical difference between the populations. In general, the largest dimensions were found in the populations of Planaltina and Buritis. Therefore, the analyzes indicate high genetic diversity and fruits/seeds with larger dimensions in the best-preserved state.

Resumo O que pode uma pergunta sobre a sexualidade na escola? Quais os seus efeitos em uma professora, nos alunos e nas demais pessoas da comunidade escolar? Essas são algumas questões que norteiam este artigo interessado nas relações entre os saberes, sua constituição histórica na construção da sexualidade e as subjetividades. Não sendo esperadas em uma sala de aula, as perguntas sobre a genitália feminina extrapolaram este espaço, nos convidando a pensar os efeitos do dispositivo da sexualidade nos sujeitos e seus atravessamentos com as relações de saber-poder. Neste sentido, trabalhando com a perspectiva foucaultiana de análise, o conceito de acontecimento é o foco da problematização deste artigo.

Abstract What is the power of a question about sexuality in school? What are its effects on a teacher, on students, and on other people in the school community? These are some questions that guide this article interested in the relationships between the knowledges, their historical constitution in the construction of the sexuality, and the subjectivities. Not expected in a classroom, questions about the female genitalia extrapolated this space, enticing the thought about the effects of the deployment of sexuality on the subjects and its crisscrossing with the knowledge-power relationships. In this sense, working with the Foucauldian perspective of analysis, the concept of event is the focus of this article’s problematization.

RESUMO: Os objetivos deste trabalho foram estimar a área foliar de abobrinha ‘Brasileirinha’ por dimensões lineares das folhas e testar modelos disponíveis na literatura. Foi conduzido um experimento na safra 2015/16 sendo coletas 500 folhas. Em cada folha foram mensurados comprimento (L), largura (W), calculado produto comprimento×largura (LW) e determinada a área foliar real (LA). Depois, 400 folhas foram separadas para a geração de modelos da área foliar real (LA) em função da dimensão linear (L, W ou LW) de abobrinha. As demais 100 folhas foram utilizadas na validação dos modelos. Um segundo experimento foi conduzido na safra 2016/17, no qual foram coletadas 250 folhas utilizadas na validação dos modelos gerados no primeiro experimento. Existe colinearidade entre L e W e, por isso, os modelos que utilizam o produto LW não são recomendados. O modelo LA=0,5482W2+0,0680W (R²=0,9867) é adequado para a estimação de área foliar de abobrinha ‘Brasileirinha’.

ABSTRACT: The objectives of this work were estimate the leaf area of squash ‘Brasileirinha’ by linear dimensions of the leaves and check models available in the literature. An experiment was conducted in the 2015/16 sowing season. Were collected 500 leaves and in each one, were measured the length (L), width (W) and length×width product (LW) and determined the real leaf area (LA). Then, 400 leaves were separated to generate models of the leaf area (LA) as a function of linear dimension (L, W or LW) of squash. The remaining 100 leaves were used for the validation of models. A second experiment was conducted in the 2016/17 sowing season. Were collected 250 leaves, used only for the validation of the models of the first experiment. There is collinearity between L and W and, therefore, models using the LW product are not recommended. The model LA=0.5482W2 + 0.0680W (R²=0.9867) is adequate for leaf area estimation of squash ‘Brasileirinha’.
