RESUMEN El artículo presenta los resultados de un proceso de investigación centrado en la digitalización y puesta en disponibilidad pública del archivo de ¡Adelante! El Periódico de la Usina Popular de Tandil, un órgano de prensa editado en la localidad bonaerense de Tandil, Argentina, entre 1934 y 1942. Dicha publicación nace en el proceso de creación de la Usina Popular, una entidad que buscó brindar un servicio accesible y de calidad para llevar energía eléctrica a los tandilenses. La digitalización de estos materiales de archivo y su puesta a disposición en repositorios de acceso abierto plantea, por un lado, una serie de interrogantes acerca de las relaciones que se establecen entre los procesos comunicacionales, las tecnologías digitales y las políticas públicas que pugnan llevarla adelante, al mismo tiempo que exigió la conformación de un equipo multidisciplinario que involucró el diálogo con las investigaciones históricas que contribuyen a la construcción de una historia de los medios de prensa de ciudades medias de la provincia de Buenos Aires.

ABSTRACT The article presents the results of a research process focused on the digitization and public availability of the ¡Adelante! The newspaper of the Usina Popular de Tandil, a press organ published in the town of Tandil, Argentina, between 1934 and 1942. This publication was born in the process of creating the Popular Power Plant, an entity that sought to provide accesibility and quality service to bring electrical energy to the people of Tandil. The digitization of these archive materials and their availability in open access repositories raises, on the one hand, a series of questions about the relationships established between communication processes, digital technologies and the public policies that seek to carry it out, whereas at the same time, it demanded the formation of a multidisciplinary team that involved dialogue with historical research that contributes to the construction of a history of the press in medium-sized cities in the province of Buenos Aires.

RESUMO O artigo apresenta os resultados de um processo de pesquisa focado na digitalização e disponibilização pública do arquivo de ¡Adelante! El Periódico de la Usina Popular de Tandil, órgão de imprensa publicado na cidade de Tandil, em Buenos Aires, Argentina, entre 1934 e 1942. Esta publicação nasceu no processo de criação da Usina Popular, entidade que buscava fornecer um serviço acessível e de qualidade para levar energia elétrica à população de Tandil. A digitalização destes materiais arquivísticos e a sua disponibilização em repositórios de acesso aberto levanta, por um lado, uma série de questões sobre as relações estabelecidas entre os processos de comunicação, as tecnologias digitais e as políticas públicas que procuram realizá-lo, que exigiu a formação de uma equipe multidisciplinar que envolveu o diálogo com as pesquisas históricas que contribuem para a construção de uma história da mídia impressa nas cidades médias da província de Buenos Aires.

Abstract Studies investigating the effects of different modalities of exercises on the immune system are scarce. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the effects of eight weeks of resistance and aerobic training on the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes from mice. Eighteen male C56BL6/J mice were divided into groups (n=6), sedentary, aerobic, and resistance training. After 8 weeks, animals were euthanized, and their splenocytes were labeled and cultured with and without stimulation. Lymphocyte proliferation (CD4+, CD8+ and CD21/CD35+) was evaluated by flow cytometry. The mice subjected to resistance exercise exhibited greater proliferation for total, CD8+ and B lymphocytes (p<0.05), but not CD4+ cells (p>0.05), compared with their sedentary counterparts. We found significant correlations between maximum load and total, CD8+ and B lymphocytes proliferation rates (p<0.05). In conclusion, our results showed that resistance training promoted an improvement in the immune response associated with CD8+ and B lymphocytes.

Abstract Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major cause of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and changes in lipoprotein. Literature data suggest that cholesterol associated with high-density lipoprotein (HDLc) plays a protective role against albuminuria and diabetic nephropathy. These factors are related with changes in serum apolipoproteins such Apo A-I. This work aims to evaluate the correlation of apolipoprotein A-I with renal function in diabetic outpatients. Samples were collected from 281 outpatients for analyses of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), serum creatinine (SCr), urea (BUN), cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), HDL-cholesterol (HDLc) and estimation of glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). Urinary samples were obtained to assess urine albumin creatinine ratio (UACR). Triglyceride-glucose index (TyG) was calculated to estimate insulin resistance. The mean age was 61,5 ± 16,4 years. Most patients were female, Afro-Mestizo and over 50 years of age. Pearson's revealed negative correlation of creatinine with HDLc and Apo A-I. There was a correlation of eGFR with HbA1c, TG and HDLc. TyG presented a negative correlation with Apo A-I and HDLc. The highest quartiles of UACR presented the highest TyG and the lowest Apo A-I. In conclusion, Apo A-I indicated an association with insulin resistance and changes in renal function parameters, especially as a factor associated with the onset of albuminuria, with a better predictive potential than the HDLc.

ABSTRACT The search for bioherbicides has been encouraged, and plants used in food or with bioactivity have been studied. Therefore, this article aimed to investigate the bioherbicidal potential of essential oils from Psidium cauliflorum and P. acidum through a plant toxicity bioassay using Lactuca sativa and Sorghum bicolor. The seeds were treated with essential oils of both species, along with control groups treated with distilled water, dichloromethane, and glyphosate. Germination percentage (GP), germination speed index (GSI), root growth (RG), shoot length (SL), mitotic index (MI), chromosomal alterations (CA), and nuclear alterations (NA) were evaluated. The major compound of the essential oil of P. cauliflorum was α-pinene, and of P. acidum were trans-caryophyllene, β-elemene, germacrene A, and α-copaene. The essential oils from both species exhibited phytotoxic effects. P. acidum oil inhibited sorghum RG and lettuce SL, while P. cauliflorum oil reduced GP, GSI, RG, and SL in both plants, indicating higher phytotoxicity than P. acidum and non-selective behavior. Cytotoxic investigations showed that both oils inhibited the MI. CA analysis revealed that P. cauliflorum oil exhibited aneugenic and clastogenic action mechanisms. The results demonstrate the bioherbicidal potential of P. cauliflorum essential oil, in addition to being non-selective and displaying a similar inhibition rate to glyphosate.

ABSTRACT Purpose: To compare the differences between the apparent and actual chord μ. Methods: In this prospective, comparative, non-randomized, and non-interventional study, imaging examinations using Pentacam and the HD Analyzer were performed in the same room under the same scotopic conditions. The inclusion criteria were patients aged 21-71 years, able to provide informed consent, myopia up to 4D, and anterior topographic astigmatism up to 1D. Patients using contact lenses, those with previous eye diseases or surgeries, corneal opacities, corneal tomographic changes, or suspected keratoconus were excluded. Results: Altogether, 116 eyes of 58 patients were analyzed. The patients’ mean age was 30.69 (±7.85) years. In the correlation analyses, Pearson’s correlation coefficient of 0.647 indicates a moderate positive linear relationship between apparent and actual chord μ. The mean actual and apparent chord μ were 226.21 ± 128.53 and 278.66 ± 123.90 μm, respectively, with a mean difference of 52.45 μm (p=0.01). The analysis of mean pupillary diameter resulted in 5.76 mm using the HD Analyzer and 3.31 mm using the Pentacam. Conclusions: We found a correlation between the two measurement devices, and even though we found considerable differences, both can be used in daily practice. Given their differences, we should respect their peculiarities as well.

RESUMO Objetivo: Comparar as diferenças entre a chord aparente μ e o chord real μ. Métodos: Estudo prospectivo, comparativo, não randomizado e não intervencionista. Os exames de imagem (Pentacam e HD Analyzer) foram realizados na mesma sala e nas mesmas condições escotópicas. Os critérios de inclusão foram idade de 21 a 71 anos; compreensão do termo de consentimento; miopia até 4D e astigmatismo topográfico anterior até 1D. Os critérios de exclusão foram usuários de lentes de contato; pacientes com doenças oculares prévias ou cirurgias; opacidades da córnea; a presença de alterações tomográficas da córnea ou suspeita de ceratocone. Resultados: Em nosso estudo foram analisados 116 olhos de 58 pacientes. A média de idade foi de 30,69 anos (± 7,85). Análises de correlação foram desenvolvidas e o coeficiente de correlação de Pearson (0,647) indica uma relação linear positiva moderada entre as variáveis. A média do chord μ real foi 226,21 ± 128,53 μm e a média do chord μ média foi 278,66 ± 123,90 μm, com diferença média de 52,45 μm (p=0,01). A análise do diâmetro pupilar médio apresentou: 5,76mm no HD Analyzer e 3,31mm no Pentacam. Conclusões: Entendemos a existência de uma diferença significativa entre os métodos e assim a medida de ambos os dispositivos com base em princípios diferentes devemos respeitar suas peculiaridades. Como encontramos correlação entre as duas medidas, acreditamos que ambas podem ser utilizadas na prática diária.

ABSTRACT: Pythiosis is the disease caused by aquatic oomycetes of the genus Pythium. In dogs the typical course of the disease involves the gastrointestinal tract, characterized by transmural thickening of the stomach or intestines. However, infection by Pythium spp. has only rarely been recognized as a cause of esophagitis in dogs. Thus, the present reports a case of esophageal and gastric pythiosis in an eight-month-old female pit bull dog. The dog was attended at the hospital after two months presenting regurgitation and dyspnea. It was reported that the dog lived in an urban area and had no previous sanitary issues. At clinical examination it was noted that the dog presented crackling sounds at pulmonary auscultation. A support therapy accompanied by antibiotics has been employed; however, 22 days after hospitalization the clinical condition worsened, and the dog died. At necropsy, the wall of the distal segment of the esophagus and the cardia and part of the fundus of the stomach were expanded by a focal extensive irregular intramural annular mass. Additionally, there was a transmural esophageal fistula. At histology, the walls of the esophagus and stomach were extensively expanded by multifocal extensive areas of necrosis, associated with a pyogranulomatous infiltrate and abundant granulation tissue containing multiple negative images of hyphae that were highlighted by silver impregnation (Grocott). Furthermore, immunohistochemistry and PCR for P. insidiosum were both positive in samples of paraffin-embedded esophageal tissue.

RESUMO: A Pitiose é uma doença causada por oomicetos aquáticos do gênero Pythium. Em cães o curso típico da doença envolve o trato gastrointestinal, caracterizado por espessamento transmural do estômago ou intestinos. No entanto, a infecção por Pythium spp. raramente foi reconhecida como causa de esofagite em caninos. Assim, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo relatar um caso de pitiose esofágica e gástrica em um canino Pit Bull fêmea de oito meses de idade. O cão foi recebido no hospital com histórico de regurgitação e dispneia durante dois meses. Foi relatado que o animal era de um domicílio de área urbana e não possuía histórico pregresso de enfermidades. No exame clínico contatou-se ainda crepitações à ausculta pulmonar. Foi instituído tratamento de suporte e antibioticoterapia, porém após 22 dias de internação, o cão evoluiu para o óbito. Na necropsia, as paredes do segmento distal do esôfago e o cárdia e parte do fundo do estômago estavam expandidos por uma massa anular intramural focalmente extensiva e irregular. Além disso, havia uma fístula esofágica transmural. À histologia, as paredes do esôfago e do estômago apresentavam-se difusamente expandidas por áreas multifocais extensas de necrose, associadas a infiltrado piogranulomatoso, abundante proliferação de fibroblastos imaturos, neovascularização e contendo múltiplas imagens negativas de hifas realçadas pela impregnação por prata (Grocott). Além disso, tanto a imuno-histoquímica como PCR para P. insidiosum foram positivas em amostras de esôfago embebidas em parafina.

ABSTRACT The knowledge of correlations between multiple characteristics in plant breeding leads to more effective selection strategies. The path analysis allows refining these correlations and partitioning them into direct and indirect effects on the main variable. The path analysis becomes more effective when based on predicted genotypic values rather than phenotypic values. The objective was to evaluate correlations between the main agronomic characteristics of grapevine cultivation and their direct and indirect effects on yield per plant to improve selection strategies to reach superior progenies. A randomized complete block design was installed using four cultivars and two rootstocks, five repetitions, and plots of four plants. Data from three crop seasons were analyzed from a mixed model and genetic correlations were subject to the path analysis. A high and positive significant correlation was found between average fruit production and the number of clusters per plant. On the other hand, the average production per plant showed a low correlation to cluster width and height per grapevine. Wider and higher berries tend to increase berry fresh mass and therefore increase the contents of soluble solids and reducing sugars. Among the features, the number of clusters per plant has the strongest direct effect on fruit production in grape cultivars. Berry fresh mass, berry length, and berry width were indirectly influenced by the number of clusters and showed high heritability compared to yield and number of clusters. Abstract Background: Promoting physical contact, especially skin-to-skin contact, immediately or as soon as possible in preterm newborns is still a challenge. Objective: To determine the prevalence of physical contact between mothers and preterm newborns at birth and to analyze the association between the type of physical contact between them in the delivery room and the prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding at hospital discharge. Methodology: Cross-sectional study with a nonprobability sample of 78 mothers and 79 preterm newborns. Data were collected from July to November 2017, through interviews and medical records, and analyzed through descriptive statistics and Poisson Regression with robust variance. Results: The prevalence of any type of physical contact in the delivery room was 51.9%, without statistical difference between the type of physical contact between mothers and infants and exclusive breastfeeding at discharge. Conclusion: Physical contact by touching and kissing after birth did not influence the prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding at hospital discharge.

Resumen Marco contextual: Promover el contacto físico, especialmente piel con piel, de forma inmediata o precoz en recién nacidos prematuros sigue siendo un desafío. Objetivo: Comprobar la prevalencia del contacto físico entre la madre y el recién nacido prematuro en el momento del nacimiento y asociar el tipo de contacto físico realizado por el binomio en la sala de partos con la prevalencia de la lactancia materna exclusiva en el momento del alta hospitalaria. Metodología: Estudio transversal con una muestra no probabilística de 78 madres y 79 recién nacidos prematuros. La recogida de datos se realizó de julio a noviembre de 2017, mediante entrevista y consulta en antecedentes clínicos, y los datos se analizaron según la estadística descriptiva y la regresión de Poisson con varianza robusta. Resultados: La prevalencia de cualquier tipo de contacto físico realizado en la sala de partos fue del 51,9%, sin diferencias estadísticas entre el tipo de contacto físico realizado entre la madre y el bebé, y la lactancia materna exclusiva en el momento del alta. Conclusión: El contacto físico mediante caricias y besos durante el parto no influyó en la prevalencia de la lactancia materna exclusiva en el momento del alta hospitalaria.

Objetivo: Verificar a prevalência de contacto físico entre mãe e recém-nascido prematuro no nascimento e associar o tipo de contacto físico realizado pelo binómio na sala de parto com a prevalência do aleitamento materno exclusivo na alta hospitalar. Metodologia: Estudo transversal com amostra não probabilística de 78 mães e 79 prematuros. A colheita de dados foi efetuada de julho a novembro de 2017, por meio de entrevista e consulta em prontuário e os dados foram analisados conforme a estatística descritiva e Regressão de Poisson com variância robusta. Resultados: A prevalência de qualquer tipo de contacto físico realizado na sala de parto foi de 51,9%, sem diferença estatística entre o tipo de contacto físico realizado entre mãe e bebé com o aleitamento materno exclusivo na alta. Conclusão: O contacto físico pelo toque e beijo no momento do parto não influenciou na prevalência de aleitamento materno exclusivo na alta hospitalar.

Resumo As migrações contemporâneas revelam deslocamentos de populações entre territórios, com maior destaque para os contextos de guerra, conflitos políticos ou mitigação de direitos fundamentais, o que reclama a preocupação internacional para a promoção da efetividade da cidadania global e de direitos decorrentes. O presente artigo objetiva promover uma análise do panorama migratório hodierno, com ênfase nos deslocamentos forçados de mulheres negras no Brasil, a fim avaliar sua relação com a necropolítica racial. Propõe-se a identificação das categorias normativas dos direitos migratórios e a análise das normativas pátria e internacional atinentes à temática central. Utilizou-se da revisão de literatura, a partir de uma pesquisa com abordagem qualitativa, de natureza explicativa e aplicada, tendo em vista a produção de conhecimento que poderá oferecer suporte à implantação de políticas públicas que minorem efeitos deletérios da necropolítica e da misoginia racial. Foram utilizadas como base de dados as plataformas SCieLo, Google Acadêmico e Scopus, sendo critérios de inclusão artigos científicos publicados nas línguas portuguesa, inglesa e espanhola, nos últimos trinta anos, envolvendo temas necropolítica, migração, racismo, mulheres negras, a partir das combinações dos descritores e operadores booleanos and/or. A partir da pesquisa, foi possível obervar que os fluxos migratórios contemporâneos encontravam diversos fatores causais, podendo ser considerado um fenônemo a partir de uma perspectiva interseccional, em razão da perpetuação do racismo, rememorando os efeitos da colonização e da escravização de povos africanos, e do machismo, em virtude da consideração do corpo da mulher negra como objeto, resultante da necropolítica racial misógena histórica.

Abstract: Contemporary migrations reveal displacements of populations between territories, with greater prominence for the contexts of war, political conflicts or mitigation of fundamental rights, or that calls for international concern for the promotion of the effectiveness of global citizenship and corresponding rights. The present article aims to promote an analysis of the current migratory panorama, with emphasis on the forced displacement of black women in Brazil, in order to assess their relationship with racial necropolitics. It is proposed to identify the normative categories of the two migratory rights and to analyze the national and international regulations related to the central theme. It was used in the literature review, from a research with a qualitative approach, of an explanatory and applied nature, with a view to the production of knowledge that could offer support to the implementation of public policies that reduce the deleterious effects of necropolitics and racial misogyny. Foram used as databases by the platforms SCieLo, Google Scholar and Scopus, being inclusion criteria scientific articles published in the Portuguese, English and Spanish languages, the last thirty years, involving topics necropolitics, migration, racism, black women, from the combinations two descriptors and boolean and/or operators. From the research, it was possible to observe that contemporary migratory flows encounter various causal factors, which can be considered a phenomenon from an intersectional perspective, due to the perpetuation of racism, recalling the effects of colonization and slavery of African peoples, and of machismo, in virtue of the consideration of the body of the black woman as an object, resulting from the historical misogenic racial necropolitics.

Résumé L’état de guerre qui imprègne la sociabilité urbaine brésilienne n’est pas une simple analogie, mais un mouvement spécifique du système démocratique bourgeois. En nous basant sur la proposition théorique d’Agamben, nous cherchons à révéler le modèle violent de maintien de la dichotomie ami-ennemi, et comment cela se manifeste dans les conflits urbains brésiliens, principalement dans le cas de Rio de Janeiro. Enfin, la résurgence de la violence se présente à travers des fascismes social et ouvert, qui tendent à intensifier la guerre urbaine. Par conséquent, cela constitue une critique de la gauche brésilienne, qui s’est montrée incapable d’apporter des réponses à ce phénomène typique.

Resumo Neste artigo defende-se que o estado de guerra que permeia a sociabilidade urbana brasileira não é uma mera analogia, mas um movimento próprio do sistema democrático burguês. Com base na proposta teórica de Agamben, busca-se revelar o modelo violento de manter a dicotomia amigo-inimigo e como isso se manifesta nos conflitos urbanos brasileiros, principalmente no caso do Rio de Janeiro. Por fim, apresenta-se o recrudescimento da violência através dos fascismos social e aberto, que tendem a intensificar a guerra urbana. Consequentemente se estabelece uma crítica à esquerda brasileira, que tem se mostrado incapaz de dar respostas a esse fenômeno típico.

Abstract It is argued that the state of war that permeates Brazilian urban sociability is not a mere analogy, but a movement proper to the bourgeois democratic system. Based on Agamben’s theoretical proposal, it seeks to reveal the violent model of maintaining the friend-enemy dichotomy, and how this is shown in Brazilian urban conflicts, especially in the case of Rio de Janeiro. Finally, the resurgence of violence through social and open fascism is presented, which tends to intensify urban warfare. From this, a critique of the Brazilian left is established, which has shown itself to be incapable of giving answers to this typical phenomenon.

Objective: to investigate factors associated with the SARS-CoV-2 infection among health professionals from university hospitals. Method: a multicenter, mixed approach study with concomitant incorporated strategy, carried out with 559 professionals in the quantitative stage, and 599 in the qualitative stage. Four data collection instruments were used, applied by means of an electronic form. The quantitative analysis was performed with descriptive and inferential statistics and the qualitative data were processed by means of content analysis. Results: the factors associated with the infection were as follows: performance of the RT-PCR test (p<0.001) and units offering care to COVID-19 patients (p=0.028). Having symptoms increased 5.63 times the prevalence of infection and adhering to social distancing most of the time in private life reduced it by 53.9%. The qualitative data evidenced difficulties faced by the professionals: scarcity and low quality of Personal Protective Equipment, work overload, physical distancing at work, inadequate processes and routines and lack of a mass screening and testing policy. Conclusion: the factors associated with the SARS-CoV-2 infection among health professionals were mostly related to occupational issues.

Objetivo: investigar los factores asociados a la infección por SARSCoV-2 en los profesionales de la salud de hospitales universitarios. Método: estudio multicéntrico, con abordaje mixto con estrategia incorporada concomitante, realizado con 559 profesionales en la etapa cuantitativa, y 599 en la etapa cualitativa. Fueron utilizados cuatro instrumentos de recolección de datos, aplicados a través un formulario electrónico. El análisis cuantitativo se realizó mediante estadística descriptiva e inferencial y los datos cualitativos mediante análisis de contenido Resultados: los factores asociados a la infección fueron: realización de la prueba “RT-PCR” (p<0,001) y unidades que atienden a pacientes con COVID-19 (p=0,028). Tener síntomas aumentó la prevalencia de infección 5,63 veces y cumplir la mayor parte del tiempo con el distanciamiento social en la vida privada la redujo un 53,9%. Los datos cualitativos mostraron las dificultades que enfrentaron los profesionales: escasez y baja calidad de equipos de protección personal, sobrecarga de trabajo, distanciamiento físico en el trabajo, procesos y rutinas inadecuados y la ausencia de una política de triage y testeo masivos. Conclusión: los factores asociados a la infección por SARS-CoV-2 en los profesionales de la salud se relacionaron mayormente con cuestiones laborales.

Método: estudo multicêntrico, de abordagem mista com estratégia incorporada concomitante, realizado com 559 profissionais na etapa quantitativa, e 599 na etapa qualitativa. Foram utilizados quatro instrumentos de coleta de dados, aplicados via formulário eletrônico. A análise quantitativa foi realizada com estatística descritiva e inferencial e os dados qualitativos por meio de análise de conteúdo. Resultados: os fatores associados à infeção foram: realização de teste “RT-PCR” (p<0,001) e unidades com atendimento a pacientes com COVID-19 (p=0,028). Ter sintomas aumentou em 5,63 vezes a prevalência de infeção e aderir ao distanciamento social na maior parte do tempo na vida particular reduziu em 53,9%. Dados qualitativos evidenciaram dificuldades enfrentadas pelos profissionais: escassez e baixa qualidade de equipamentos de proteção individual, sobrecarga de trabalho, distanciamento físico no trabalho, processos e rotinas inadequadas e ausência de uma política de triagem e testagem em massa. Conclusão: os fatores associados à infecção por SARS-CoV-2 entre profissionais da saúde foram em sua maioria relacionados a questões ocupacionais.
