Abstract: The replacement of the Primary Care Information System (SIAB, 1998-2015), as of January 2016, by the new Health Information System for Primary Care (SISAB) determined new forms of collecting, processing, and using information, with a possible impact on the records of activities carried out in primary health care in Brazil. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation impact of the new information system on records of physicians’ and nurses’ patient care and home visits of community health workers (CHW) in Brazil from 2007 to 2019. To this end, a Bayesian structural time-series model approach was used, based on a diffuse state-space regression. From 2016 to 2019, 463.47 million physician care, 210.61 million nursing care, and 1.28 billion CHW visits were recorded. Following the trend recorded before the implementation, 598.86 million, 430.46 million, and 1.5 billion physician and nursing appointments and CHW visits would be expected, respectively. In relative terms, there was a decrease of 25% in physician care, 51% in nursing care, and 15% in CHW visits when compared to the value expected by the Bayesian method. The negative impact on the records of patient care and home visits identified in this study, whether due to difficulties in adapting to the new system or a reduction in improper records, must be investigated so that the challenge of improving the primary care information system can be understood and overcome in a planned way.

Resumen: La sustitución del Sistema de Información de la Atención Básica (SIAB, 1998-2015), desde enero de 2016, por el nuevo Sistema de Información en Salud para la Atención Básica (SISAB) estableció nuevas maneras para recolectar, procesar y utilizar las informaciones, con posibles impactos en los registros de las actividades desarrolladas en la atención primaria de salud en Brasil. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el impacto de la implantación del nuevo sistema de información sobre los registros de atención de médicos y enfermeros y de visitas domiciliarias de agentes comunitarios de salud (ACS) en Brasil entre 2007 y 2019. Para eso, se utilizó un enfoque bayesiano de modelo estructural para series temporales basadas en una regresión difusa de espacio de estado. Entre los años 2016 y 2019, se registraron 463,47 millones de consultas médicas, 210,61 millones de consultas de enfermería y 1,28 mil millones de visitas de ACS. El impacto negativo en el registro de consultas y visitas domiciliarias identificado en este estudio, ya sea por dificultades en la adaptación al nuevo sistema o por la disminución de los registros indebidos, merece ser objeto de investigación para que se pueda, de manera planificada, comprender y superar el desafío continuo de mejorar el sistema de información de la atención primaria.

Abstract This study uses eye-tracking metrics to quantify the visual attention given to differentiation attributes in specialty coffees. Two Discrete Choice-type experiments were developed using the packaging as a stimulus to analyze visual attention and the probability of choice for each attribute. Experiment 1 (466 observations) included the evaluation of the attributes price, brand, coffee variety, organic label and origin. Experiment 2 (279 observations) tested price, score, altitude and roast. Experiments 1 and 2 revealed that the use of the Time Fixation Duration (TFD) and Visit Count (VC) metrics were efficient in evaluating the effect of visual attention on the choice of each attribute present in the packaging. In experiment 2, the Time to First Fixation (TFF) and the willingness-to-pay (WTP) metrics were also significant, the latter of which had a value higher than the highest price indicated by the retailer. The packaging label could be considered a first potential activation regarding the novelty that these attributes represent, and the findings of this study can direct the efforts of the coffee industry to educate its customers about the main quality attributes related to the consumption of specialty coffees that are still poorly understood, but which may generate future profitability.

Resumo Este estudo usa métricas de rastreamento ocular para quantificar a atenção visual dada aos atributos de diferenciação dos cafés especiais. Dois experimentos do tipo Discrete Choice foram desenvolvidos utilizando a embalagem como estímulo para analisar a atenção visual e a probabilidade de escolha de cada atributo. O experimento 1 (466 observações) incluiu a avaliação dos atributos preço, marca, variedade do café, selo orgânico e origem. O experimento 2 (279 observações) testou preço, pontuação, altitude e torra do grão. Os experimentos 1 e 2 revelaram que o uso das métricas Time Fixation Duration (TFD) e Visit Count (VC) foram eficientes na avaliação do efeito da atenção visual na escolha de cada atributo presente na embalagem. No experimento 2, o tempo para a primeira fixação (TFF) e as métricas de disposição a pagar (WTP) também foram significativas, sendo que este teve um valor superior ao preço mais alto indicado pelo varejista. O rótulo de uma embalagem pode ser considerado potencialmente uma primeira ativação em relação à novidade que esses atributos representam e, além disso, os achados deste estudo podem direcionar os esforços da indústria cafeeira para educar seus clientes sobre os principais atributos de qualidade relacionados ao consumo de cafés especiais que ainda são pouco conhecidos, mas que podem gerar lucratividade futura.

ABSTRACT In this quantitative study, through Multiple Correspondence Analysis, we explored the existence of a statistically significant association between conventional and alternative organizational characteristics and the attribution of satisfaction or dissatisfaction at work. The study had 172 respondents participating in an online survey. The results indicate that all characteristics of conventional organizations, to a greater or lesser extent, were associated with the perception of dissatisfaction, whereas characteristics of alternative organizations, in the same way, were associated with satisfaction. Four dimensions of comparison between conventional and alternative organizational modes stood out in terms of contribution and relevance, namely: i) technical orientation (efficiency versus conviviality); ii) economic orientation (growth versus sufficiency); iii) commercial orientation (market versus community); and iv) inter-organizational orientation competition vers(us cooperation). The results, specifically, show that the technical orientation toward productive efficiency, as well as the commercial orientation toward the market, is, at a strong level, associated with dissatisfaction, while the cooperative inter-organizational orientation is strongly associated with satisfaction. The investigation sheds light on a better understanding of organizational modes that oppose the dominant conventional logic.

RESUMO Neste estudo quantitativo, por meio da Análise de Correspondência Múltipla, exploramos a existência de associação estatisticamente significativa entre as características organizacionais convencionais e alternativas e a atribuição da satisfação ou insatisfação no trabalho. O estudo contou com 172 respondentes participantes de uma survey online. Os resultados indicam que todas as características de organizações convencionais, em maior ou menor nível, associaram-se à percepção de insatisfação, enquanto características de organizações alternativas, da mesma forma, associaram-se à satisfação. Quatro dimensões de comparação entre modos organizacionais convencionais e alternativos se destacaram quanto à contribuição e relevância, a saber: i) orientação técnica (eficiência versus convivencialidade), ii) orientação econômica (crescimento versus suficiência), iii) orientação comercial (mercado versus comunidade) e, iv) orientação interorganizacional (competição versus cooperação). Os resultados, especificamente, apontam que a orientação técnica para a eficiência produtiva, assim como a orientação comercial para o mercado estão, em nível forte, associadas à insatisfação, enquanto que a orientação interorganizacional cooperativa está fortemente associada à satisfação. A investigação lança luz para o melhor entendimento sobre modos organizacionais que se contrapõem à lógica convencional dominante.

Compreender o que induz uma pessoa a realizar viagens a lugares que foram cenários de filmes é importante para o mercado turístico traçar suas estratégias e ações. A saga Harry Potter, escrita por J. K. Rowling, ficou mundialmente famosa quando adaptada para os cinemas pela Warner Bros e tem se relacionado com práticas de turismo cinematográfico em diversos países do mundo, incluindo o Brasil. Tanto os locais descritos nos livros e utilizados nas filmagens da saga, como também equipamentos turísticos inspirados na saga construídos especificamente para captar esse público são visitados por turistas de todo o mundo. Considerando, portanto, sua importância cultural, popularidade e influência no público, escolheu-se a saga cinematográfica Harry Potter como estudo de caso do presente artigo, com o objetivo de analisar o perfil do turista cinematográfico brasileiro fã de Harry Potter. La saga de Harry Potter, mundialmente famosa por la autora J.K. Rowling y adaptada para los cines por Warner Bros, ha sido relacionada con prácticas de turismo cinematográfico en varios países del mundo, entre ellos Brasil. Tanto los lugares descritos en los libros y utilizados en la filmación de la saga, como las instalaciones turísticas inspiradas en la saga construidas específicamente para captar a este público son visitados por turistas de todo el mundo. Abstract: Film tourism is a segment that has been gaining strength in recent decades. Understanding what induces a person to travel to places that were once movie sets is important for the tourism market to design its strategies and actions. The Harry Potter saga, made world famous by author J.K. Rowling and adapted for theaters by Warner Bros, has been linked to film tourism practices in several countries around the world, including Brazil. Both the locations described in the books and used in the filming of the saga, as well as the saga-inspired tourist facilities built specifically to capture this audience are visited by tourists from all over the world. Considering, therefore, its cultural importance, popularity and influence on the public, the Harry Potter film saga was chosen as a case study for this article, with the aim of analyzing the profile of the Brazilian film tourist Harry Potter fan. To this end, this research sought to identify the motivations and practices of the Brazilian film tourist related to the saga. Exploratory-descriptive research with a quantitative approach was carried out. As a main result, it was verified that the people who practice film tourism influenced by Harry Potter fit the profile of the specific film tourist, since they make their trips motivated by the desire to get to know the filming locations up close. Abstract This paper describes the automation of a forearm prosthesis using the signal collected by a Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor. The FBG sensor is applied to one subject's forearm to measure the deformation as a result of the index and middle fingers when moved individually. It is possible to control a one joint model prosthesis allied to a compliant hand mechanism through signal analyses. Each finger movement has its features, such as its amplitude, which opens the possibility of using those to control different parts of the prosthesis, joint rotation by the middle finger, and compliant hand movement by the index finger. This paper presents results regarding prosthesis assembling, Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) communication latency between prosthesis and computer and tests with pre-acquired and processed FBG signal data. The prosthesis wrist rotation movement is related to the middle finger signal, and its compliant mechanism actuation is due to index finger signal. The communication between prosthesis and the computer had a mean latency of 140 ms and a standard deviation of 18 ms. The results demonstrate the potential for using the sensor system and automated prosthesis in other applications involving real-time forearm sensing, multi-finger signal analysis, and prosthetic movement.

ABSTRACT Integrated crop-livestock system (ICLS) can help improve the soil physical attributes, increasing the nutrients cycling and yield potential. We evaluated the effect of forage height management under ICLS on physical soil attributes and water infiltration. Field experiment was carried out for two consecutive years in a randomized complete block design, with three repetitions. Forage was managed under continuous grazing, grazing up to 30 cm (G30), 20 cm (G20) and 10 cm (G10) of height, and control without grazing. Soil bulk density (SBD), microporosity (MIP), macroporosity (MAP), and total porosity (TP) were measured before and after the grazing at 0-5; 5-10 and 10-20 cm layer depth. Water infiltration rate was evaluated using the concentric rings in eight periods (5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 60, 90 e 120 min after beginning of the process). SBD at 0-5 cm layer was not affected by the grazing management, whereas the MIP, MAP, and TP reduced after sheep grazing compared to ungrazed. Water infiltration rate was higher for the G10 management, with greater amount of accumulated infiltrated water. Path analysis showed positive effects of the soil physical attributes under ICLS to the grain yield soybean, allowing the farmers to enhance their profitability.

ABSTRACT. Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid is the causal agent of charcoal rot and vine decline in cucurbits such as watermelon. Molecular methods have been used for rapid identification. However, a large number of steps used reduces its applicability. This study aimed to detect M. phaseolina in watermelon from producing areas in Northeastern Brazil by direct PCR. Plant tissue samples were collected from seven producing areas and the DNA was extracted using the CTAB method. Amplifications were performed by direct PCR using the MpKFI/MpKRI primers, then the PCR products were subjected to agarose gel electrophoresis and sequenced. Amplicons of 350 bp were observed in stem tissue samples from three areas. The identity of the samples was confirmed by sequencing. This study represents the first molecular diagnosis of M. phaseolina associated with watermelon in Northeastern Brazil. The methodology presented here can be applied for a reliable and simple diagnosis of the pathogen in other crops.

Abstract Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is a highly prevalent condition worldwide that produces a wide range of pathophysiological consequences, with a critical impact on health and social issues. Alcohol influences gene expression through epigenetic changes mainly through DNA methylation. In this sense, levels of 5-methylcytosine (5-mC), namely Global DNA methylation (GMe), which can be influenced by environmental and hormonal effects, represent a putative biological mechanism underlying alcohol effects. Our aim was to investigate the influence of AUD diagnosis and alcohol patterns (i.e., years of addiction, use in the last 30 days, and alcohol severity) on GMe levels. The sample consisted of 256 men diagnosed with AUD and 361 men without AUD. DNA samples from peripheral blood were used to assess GMe levels, measured through the levels of 5-mC using high-performance liquid chromatography. Results from multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the presence of AUD was associated with lower GMe levels (beta=-0.155, p=0.011). Other alcohol-related outcomes were not associated with DNA methylation. Our findings are consistent with the hypothesis that the impact of chronic and heavy alcohol use in GMe could be a potential mechanism mediating the multiple organ damages related to AUD.

Abstract The decision whether the bipotential gonadal anlage will become a testis or ovary is a critical step during sex determination and differentiation in fish. This process involves a complex and coordinated genetic cascade, which result in the differentiation of the somatic cells into ovary or testis. In this context, important genes of TGF-β superfamily appears have a pivotal role in this biological process of fish development. In this review, we showed the breakthrough in the last decades that engage the Anti-Müllerian hormone (Amh) as an important effector in this decision. Here we exposed studies with different species of fishes around of world have paved the way for clarifying the role of Amh in the regulation of the germ cells proliferation, which may influence the spermatogenesis and, sex determination and differentiation decision on teleost fish.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Patients with chronic renal disease and undergoing hemodialysis are at a high risk for developing several complications. Fatigue is a common, troubling symptom that affects such patients and can contribute to unfavorable outcomes and high mortality. OBJECTIVE: This cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of fatigue in Brazilian patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis and determine the predisposing factors for fatigue. DESIGN AND SETTING: An observational, cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted in two renal replacement therapy centers in the Greater ABC region of São Paulo. METHODS: This study included 95 patients undergoing dialysis who were consecutively treated at two Brazilian renal replacement therapy centers between September 2019 and February 2020. The Chalder questionnaire was used to evaluate fatigue. Clinical, sociodemographic, and laboratory data of the patients were recorded, and the Short Form 36 Health Survey, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and Beck Depression Inventory were administered. RESULTS: The prevalence of fatigue in patients undergoing hemodialysis was 51.6%. Fatigue was independently associated with lower quality of life in terms of physical and general health. Patients with fatigue had a higher incidence of depression (65.9% vs. 34.1%, P = 0.001) and worse sleep quality (59.1% vs. 49.9%; P = 0.027) than those without fatigue. CONCLUSION: Prevalence of fatigue is high in patients undergoing hemodialysis and is directly related to physical and general health.

Abstract Currently, important gaps are identified in occupational therapy research that focus on the different concepts and objectives of Brazilian early childhood education. The objective of this research was to present the validation process of training workshops aimed at workers in early childhood education, through the consensus of specialists. Seven participatively elaborated workshops gave rise to the training framework and such information was presented in detail to the specialists in two rounds, according to the Delphi technique. Twenty-nine doctoral experts in early childhood education were invited, six of whom agreed to participate, with degrees in philosophy and literature, pedagogy and occupational therapy. A descriptive analysis of the responses was performed, based on the average of the results found. The workshops reached 95%-100% agreement. Some thematic enrichments were suggested, such as: school and preschool routine; neoliberalism and early childhood education; childhoods and their multiple determinations; the spontaneity of playing in early childhood education; children's culture and curriculum. The specialists also suggested dynamics and bibliographies for the workshops. Consensus denotes multidisciplinary theoretical-methodological consistency, which increases the complexity of the approach and the chances of generalization beyond the local interests of the institution that hosted this experience. The chart contains key themes, focused on current issues in early childhood education, which makes it possible for occupational therapists to use it in other contexts.

Resumo Atualmente, identificam-se importantes lacunas nas pesquisas em terapia ocupacional que enfoquem as diversas concepções e objetivos da educação infantil brasileira. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi apresentar o processo de validação de oficinas formativas voltadas para trabalhadoras da educação infantil, por meio do consenso de especialistas. Sete oficinas elaboradas participativamente deram origem ao quadro formativo e tais informações foram apresentadas detalhadamente aos especialistas em duas rodadas, conforme a técnica Delphi. Foram convidados 29 doutores experts em educação infantil, sendo que seis deles aceitaram participar, com formação em filosofia e letras, pedagogia e terapia ocupacional. Foi feita análise descritiva das respostas, a partir da média dos resultados encontrados. As oficinas alcançaram a 95%-100% de concordância. Foram sugeridos alguns enriquecimentos temáticos, como: o cotidiano escolar e pré-escolar; neoliberalismo e educação infantil; infâncias e suas múltiplas determinações; o espontaneísmo do brincar na educação infantil; cultura infantil e currículo. Os especialistas também sugeriram dinâmicas e bibliografias para as oficinas. O consenso denota consistência teórico-metodológica multidisciplinar, o que aumenta a complexidade da abordagem e as chances de generalização para além dos interesses locais da instituição que sediou esta experiência. O quadro contém temas-chave, focados nas problemáticas atuais da educação infantil, o que o torna passível de utilização por terapeutas ocupacionais em outros contextos.

ABSTRACT The relationship between relational governance mechanisms and multi-unit franchising, where a single franchisee owns and operates multiple units, has received limited attention in the existing literature. Previous studies primarily focus on the role of trust in such arrangements. Consequently, this study aims to develop and test a theoretical model that explores the association between a higher allocation of units to this type of franchisee and key attributes of relational governance, such as participation and communication. Adopting the franchisors’ perspective, our sample consists of 170 networks affiliated with the Brazilian Franchising Association (Associação Brasileira de Franchising [ABF]), and data were collected from various sources, including a self-administered questionnaire (based on data from 2018). The results provide support for our general hypothesis, indicating a positive association between relational aspects of the franchisor-franchisee partnership and a higher proportion of units owned by multi-unit franchisees. Additionally, we find that the operational sector (retail/service) and specific local investments diminish the explanatory power of the model’s variables related to relational governance, suggesting a secondary influence on the decision-making process concerning the contractual mix.

This paper presents and analyzes the methodology for teaching the concept of entropy supported by a science fiction text. In previous publications, we have presented ways of articulating Ausubel’s Meaningful Learning and Matthew Lipman’s Education theories, the object of his Philosophy Program. We show how this articulation considers the prerogatives of meaningful learning, linking it to higher-order thinking established by research communities and suggesting aggregating methods. As a theoretical-methodological expansion of these references, we transferred the notion of didactic transposition, via science fiction texts, to reinforce these postulates about teaching and cognition. The translational research involved researchers from the field of Physics teaching and 58 second-year high school students from a public institution. In the pedagogical mediation, as a basis for the discussion of the concept of entropy in the Second Law of Thermodynamics, we use one of the most acclaimed short stories by the popular Russian-American author, Isaac Asimov, entitled “The Last Question”. For data analysis, we resorted to techniques of semantic frequency and medium order of evocation as constructs of a taxonomy for the investigation of social representations arising from the implemented proposition. The results indicated consistency with the perspective of meaningful learning, consolidating reflections for similar interventions and contiguous research.

Este artigo apresenta e analisa metodologia para ensino do conceito de entropia suportada por texto de ficção científica. Em publicações anteriores, apresentamos maneiras de articular as teorias da Aprendizagem Significativa de Ausubel e da Educação de Matthew Lipman, objeto de seu Programa de Filosofia. Mostramos como tal articulação considera prerrogativas da aprendizagem significativa, vinculando-a a pensamento de ordem superior estabelecido por comunidades de investigação e sugerindo métodos agregadores. Como ampliação teórico-metodológica desses referenciais, transladamos a noção de transposição didática, via textos de ficção científica, para reforçar esses postulados acerca do ensino e da cognição. A pesquisa translacional envolveu investigadores da área de ensino de Física e 58 estudantes do segundo ano do Ensino Médio de instituição pública. Na mediação pedagógica, como base à discussão do conceito de entropia da Segunda Lei da Termodinâmica, valemo-nos de um dos mais aclamados contos do popular autor russo-americano, Isaac Asimov, intitulado “A última pergunta”. Para a análise dos dados, recorremos a técnicas de frequência semântica e de ordem média de evocação como construtos de uma taxonomia para a investigação das representações sociais advindas da proposição implementada. Os resultados indicaram coerência à perspectiva da aprendizagem significativa, consubstanciando reflexões para intervenções análogas e pesquisas contíguas.

RESUMO Objetivo: Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar de que forma ocorre o processo de construção de carreira de empreendedores sustentáveis na perspectiva teórica de Carreiras Sustentável e como os fatores influentes em suas decisões de carreira estão relacionados às dimensões e características da Carreiras Sustentável. Desenho/metodologia/abordagem: Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo realizado a partir da análise das histórias de vida de três empreendedores brasileiros. Posteriormente, os dados foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo por meio do software Atlas.ti e interpretados a partir das dimensões e características da Carreira Sustentável. Resultados: O estudo corrobora a literatura sobre empreendedorismo, sustentabilidade e carreiras, lançando luz sobre o processo de decisão de carreira de empreendedores sustentáveis a partir dos pressupostos da perspectiva de Carreira Sustentável. Identificou-se a emergência de categorias influentes como dilema desorientador, a importância das dimensões de agência e significado e a coerência da carreira com valores, qualidade de vida e autorrealização. Além disso, o empreendedorismo sustentável parece estar alinhado com os ideais de trabalho decente, permitindo o bem-estar individual, combinando valores de vida e carreira e empregabilidade de longo prazo. Originalidade: A perspectiva de Carreira Sustentável oferece uma perspectiva inovadora, dinâmica e sistêmica para compreender as trajetórias profissionais de empreendedores sustentáveis, considerando seu aprendizado ao longo de sua trajetória, atravessando diferentes espaços sociais, experiências e criações, que lhes permitem aprimorar a adaptabilidade necessária para a sustentabilidade de suas carreiras.

ABSTRACT Purpose: This study aimed to analyze how the career-building process of sustainable entrepreneurs occurs from the perspective of sustainable careers and how the influential factors in their career decisions are related to the dimensions and characteristics of sustainable careers. Design/methodology/approach: This is a qualitative study carried out by analyzing three Brazilian entrepreneurs’ life stories. Subsequently, the data were submitted to narrative analysis using the Atlas.ti software and then interpreted using sustainable career’s dimensions and characteristics. Findings: The study corroborates the literature on entrepreneurship, sustainability, and careers, shedding new light on the career decision process of sustainable entrepreneurs from the assumptions of the sustainable career perspective. We identified the emergence of influential categories as a disorienting dilemma, the importance of agency and meaning dimensions and the career coherence with values, quality of life, and self-fulfillment. In addition, sustainable entrepreneurship appears to be in line with the ideals of decent work, allowing for individual well-being, matching life and career values, and long-term employability. Originality: The sustainable career perspective offers an innovative, dynamic, and systemic perspective to understanding the professional trajectories of sustainable entrepreneurs, considering their learning along their trajectory, crossing different social spaces, experiences, and creations, which allow them to improve the adaptability necessary for the sustainability of their careers.
