Abstract We investigated Aspidosperma discolor fruiting in three subpopulations in the inland Atlantic Forest of Northeastern Brazil, to better understand how local and global factors (such as the El Niño Southern Oscillation - ENSO) drive fruiting, and how functional traits are related to its dispersal potential and spatial distribution. Observations of mature fruits with dispersing seeds were carried out between 1993 and 2012. Dispersal potential was evaluated using seeds released at two different heights. Spatial distribution was analyzed using the Standardized Morisita dispersal index. A. discolor displayed seasonal fruiting during the dry season in all subpopulations, with variations in their average dates but without significant interannual variations in the proportions of fruiting individuals. The undulate seeds had average dispersal distances between 57.36 and 79.54 m. We found a random distribution pattern of the trees. The seasonal dry/rainy regime influenced fruiting and dispersal patterns, and seeds were released during the dry season (even in ENSO years). So, we demonstrate the importance of wind dispersal as a driving factor of fruiting, associated with an abiotic filter (low humidity) during the dry season. Additionally, the aerodynamic nature of the undulate diaspore and its dispersal potential influenced the random pattern of spatial distribution of A. discolor.

Resumo Investigamos a frutificação de três subpopulações de Aspidosperma discolor em uma área Mata Atlântica no interior do nordeste do Brasil, para entender melhor como fatores locais e globais (El Niño Southern Oscillation - ENOS) impulsionam a frutificação, e como as características da espécie estão relacionadas aos seus potenciais de dispersão e distribuição espacial. Frutos maduros com sementes em dispersão foram observados entre 1993 e 2012. A dispersão foi avaliada por lançar sementes em duas alturas diferentes. A distribuição foi analisada usando o índice de dispersão padronizado de Morisita. A. discolor apresentou frutificação sazonal durante a estação seca nas três subpopulações com variações de suas datas médias, mas sem variações interanuais nas proporções de indivíduos frutificando. As sementes onduladas evidenciaram distâncias médias de dispersão entre 57,36 e 79,54 m. Encontramos padrão de distribuição aleatório das árvores. O regime sazonal seco/chuvoso influenciou os padrões de frutificação e dispersão, e sementes foram liberadas durante a estação seca (mesmo em anos ENSO). Assim, demonstramos a importância da dispersão anemocórica como fator impulsionador da frutificação, associada a um filtro abiótico (baixa umidade) durante a estação seca. Adicionalmente, a natureza aerodinâmica do diásporo ondulado e seu potencial de dispersão influenciaram a distribuição espacial aleatória de A. discolor.

Abstract Objective To assess the efficacy, safety, and acceptability of misoprostol in the treatment of incomplete miscarriage. Data sources The PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Clinical Trials databases (clinicaltrials.gov) were searched for the relevant articles, and search strategies were developed using a combination of thematic Medical Subject Headings terms and text words. The last search was conducted on July 4, 2022. No language restrictions were applied. Selection of studies Randomized clinical trials with patients of gestational age up to 6/7 weeks with a diagnosis of incomplete abortion and who were managed with at least 1 of the 3 types of treatment studied were included. A total of 8,087 studies were screened. Data collection Data were synthesized using the statistical package Review Manager V.5.1 (The Cochrane Collaboration, Oxford, United Kingdom). For dichotomous outcomes, the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were derived for each study. Heterogeneity between the trial results was evaluated using the standard test, I2 statistic. Data synthesis When comparing misoprostol with medical vacuum aspiration (MVA), the rate of complete abortion was higher in the MVA group (OR = 0.16; 95%CI = 0.07–0.36). Hemorrhage or heavy bleeding was more common in the misoprostol group (OR = 3.00; 95%CI = 1.96–4.59), but pain after treatment was more common in patients treated with MVA (OR = 0.65; 95%CI = 0.52–0.80). No statistically significant differences were observed in the general acceptability of the treatments. Conclusion Misoprostol has been determined as a safe option with good acceptance by patients.

Resumo Objetivo Avaliar a eficácia, segurança e aceitabilidade do misoprostol no tratamento do aborto incompleto. Fontes de dados Os bancos de dados PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library e bancos de dados de Ensaios Clínicos (clinicaltrials.gov) foram pesquisados para os artigos relevantes, e estratégias de busca foram desenvolvidas usando uma combinação de termos temáticos de Medical Subject Headings e palavras de texto. A última pesquisa foi realizada em 4 de julho de 2022. Nenhuma restrição de idioma foi aplicada. Seleção dos estudos Foram incluídos ensaios clínicos randomizados com pacientes com idade gestacional até 6/7 semanas com diagnóstico de aborto incompleto e que foram manejadas com pelo menos um dos três tipos de tratamento estudados. Um total de 8.087 estudos foram selecionados. Coleta de dados Os dados foram sintetizados usando o pacote estatístico Review Manager V.5.1 (The Cochrane Collaboration, Oxford, United Kingdom). Para resultados dicotômicos, o odds ratio (OR, na sigla em inglês) e o intervalo de confiança (IC) de 95% foram derivados para cada estudo. A heterogeneidade entre os resultados do ensaio foi avaliada usando o teste padrão, estatística I2. Síntese dos dados Ao comparar misoprostol com aspiração a vácuo médico (MVA, na sigla em inglês), a taxa de aborto completo foi maior no grupo MVA (OR = 0,16; IC95% = 0,07–0,36). Hemorragia ou sangramento intenso foi mais comum no grupo do misoprostol (OR = 3,00; 95%CI = 1,96–4,59), mas a dor após o tratamento foi mais comum em pacientes tratados com MVA (OR = 0,65; 95%CI = 0,52–0,80). Não foram observadas diferenças estatisticamente significativas na aceitabilidade geral dos tratamentos. Conclusão O misoprostol tem se mostrado uma opção segura e com boa aceitação pelos pacientes.

Abstract Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is defined as a progressive decline of kidney functions. In childhood, the main triggering factors are congenital anomalies of the kidneys and urinary tract (CAKUT) and glomerulopathies. Inflammatory responses present challenges for diagnosis and staging, which justifies studies on biomarkers/indexes. Aim: To define blood cell count indexes and verify their association with pediatric CKD etiology and staging. The included indexes were: Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Derived Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio (dNLR), Lymphocyte-Monocyte Ratio (LMR), Systemic Inflammation Response Index (SIRI), Aggregate Index of Systemic Inflammation (AISI), and Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII). Methods: We determined the indexes in 52 pediatric CKD patients and 33 healthy controls by mathematical calculation. CKD patients were separated in five groups based on the etiology and staging: Group IA: glomerulopathies at stage 1 or 2; IB: glomerulopathies at stage 3 or 4; IIA: CAKUT at stage 1 or 2; IIB: CAKUT at stage 3 or 4; and III: stages 3 or 4 of other etiologies. In addition, we combined all patients with CKD in one group (IV). Group V was a healthy control group. Results: Lower values of LMR were observed for groups IB and IIB compared to group V (p = 0.047, p = 0.031, respectively). Increased values of SIRI were found for group III versus group V (p = 0.030). There was no difference for other indexes when the groups were compared two by two. Conclusion: The LMR and SIRI indexes showed promising results in the evaluation of inflammation, as they correlated with CKD etiologies and specially staging in these patients.

Resumo Introdução: Doença renal crônica (DRC) é definida como um declínio progressivo das funções renais. Na infância, os principais fatores desencadeantes são anomalias congênitas dos rins e trato urinário (CAKUT) e glomerulopatias. Respostas inflamatórias apresentam desafios para diagnóstico e estadiamento, o que justifica estudos sobre biomarcadores/índices. Objetivo: Definir índices de contagem de células sanguíneas e verificar sua associação com etiologia e estadiamento da DRC pediátrica. Os índices incluídos foram: Razão Neutrófilo-Linfócito (NLR), Razão Neutrófilo-Linfócito Derivada (dNLR), Razão Linfócito-Monócito (LMR), Índice de Resposta à Inflamação Sistêmica (SIRI), Índice Agregado de Inflamação Sistêmica (AISI) e Índice de Inflamação Imune Sistêmica (SII). Métodos: Determinamos índices em 52 pacientes pediátricos com DRC e 33 controles saudáveis por cálculo matemático. Pacientes com DRC foram separados em cinco grupos conforme etiologia e estadiamento: Grupo IA: glomerulopatias em estágio 1 ou 2; IB: glomerulopatias em estágio 3 ou 4; IIA: CAKUT em estágio 1 ou 2; IIB: CAKUT em estágio 3 ou 4; e III: estágios 3 ou 4 de outras etiologias. Além disso, combinamos todos os pacientes com DRC em um grupo (IV). Grupo V foi um grupo controle saudável. Resultados: Observamos valores menores de LMR nos grupos IB e IIB comparados ao grupo V (p=0,047; p=0,031, respectivamente). Encontramos valores maiores de SIRI para o grupo III versus grupo V (p=0,030). Não houve diferença para outros índices quando os grupos foram comparados dois a dois. Conclusão: Os índices LMR e SIRI apresentaram resultados promissores na avaliação da inflamação, pois correlacionaram-se com as etiologias da DRC e, principalmente, com o estadiamento desses pacientes.

Resumo O painel MDF pode sofrer mudanças dimensionais, o que compromete seu desempenho. Uma forma de melhorar o desempenho do painel é incorporar nanopartículas. A presente pesquisa estudou o efeito do uso de nanopartículas de óxido de zinco em diferentes teores (0%, 0,5% e 1,0%) em painéis MDF fabricados com resina ureia-formaldeído (UF), resina melamina-formaldeído (MF) e fibras de Eucalyptusgrandis. Também avaliou o uso de modelos de regressão para estimar propriedades físicas e mecânicas em função do adesivo utilizado e do teor de ZnO incorporado. Os tratamentos com resina MF apresentaram melhor desempenho quando comparados com os tratamentos que utilizaram adesivo UF. O teor ótimo para adição de nanopartículas foi o de 0,5%. O teor de 1,0% levou ao aumento no teor de umidade, ao inchamento e à diminuição dos valores de MOR e MOE, o que pode ser justificado pela cura acelerada e pelo superaquecimento das camadas externas, prejudicando a cura das camadas interiores. O modelo com maior precisão foi o estimador da densidade aparente, sendo os fatores resina, ZnO e interação significativos.

Abstract MDF panels can undergo dimensional changes, compromising their performance. One way to improve the performance of the panel is to incorporate nanoparticles. This study analysed the effect of using zinc oxide nanoparticles at different levels (0%, 0.5% and 1.0%) in MDF panels manufactured with urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin, melamine-formaldehyde resin (MF) and Eucalyptus grandis fibres. It also evaluated the use of regression models to estimate physical and mechanical properties as a function of the adhesive used and the content of incorporated ZnO. Treatments using MF resin presented a better performance than treatments using UF adhesive. The optimal content of nanoparticles addition was 0.5%. The 1.0% content led to an increase in moisture content, swelling and a decrease in MOR and MOE values, possibly caused by an accelerated curing and overheating of the outer layers, affecting the curing of the inner layers. The most accurate model was the bulk density estimator, with resin, ZnO and interaction factors being the most significant.

RESUMO Objetivo Analisar a percepção de alunos dos cursos de Fonoaudiologia e de Pedagogia a respeito de suas experiências e práticas de leitura e escrita de textos pertencentes ao gênero do discurso na esfera acadêmica. Método Pesquisa de caráter quanti-qualitativo, de corte transversal e do tipo analítico. Para o levantamento dos dados, foi aplicado um questionário com perguntas que abrangiam a relação dos alunos com a leitura e com a escrita de textos pertencentes ao gênero acadêmico e as dificuldades enfrentadas no uso desse gênero do discurso. Resultados Muitos alunos supõem que apresentam alguma dificuldade no uso dos gêneros discursivos usados na universidade, o que pode indicar lacunas no trabalho com a linguagem escrita nos níveis de ensino que antecederam sua entrada no Ensino Superior. Alguns discentes referiram que se sentem culpados por não acompanharem, de forma efetiva, as atividades de leitura e de escrita propostas em seus respectivos cursos universitários, subentendendo que isso se deve a um distúrbio inerente aos mesmos. Conclusão Apesar do aumento do número de alunos no Ensino Superior, muitos ainda sentem-se excluídos da vida acadêmica, especialmente, por não usarem, de maneira proficiente, textos próprios deste nível de ensino. Cabe à Universidade e a todos os atores envolvidos na formação superior promoverem ações que considerem o direito a educação de todos os alunos.

ABSTRACT Purpose to analyze the perception of Speech-Therapy and Education undergraduates regarding their experiences and practices in reading and writing texts from academic discourse genres. Methods It´s a mixed crosscut study, with data collected by the application of a semi-structured questionnaire with open and closed questions about students’ relation towards reading and writing of academic texts, their difficulties in the use of these genres and how they cope with such difficulties. Results The results show that a significant number of the students assume that they have some difficulty in reading and writing these discourse genres in academic settings, which may be an indication of gaps in working with reading and writing during previous educational levels. Some of these students even blame themselves for not effectively following the reading and writing proposals in higher education, implying that this is due to an intrinsic disorder. Conclusion The data allow us to state that, despite the increase in the number of students in higher education, many still feel excluded from academic life, especially for not using academic discourse genres in a proficient way. It is the University responsibility, along with all actors involved in higher education, to promote actions that consider the right to education for all students.

ABSTRACT Questions about the safety of food additives and their consumption have been raised in recent years. The increased exposure to these substances, either by intake of ultra-processed foods or by the broad use and combination of various categories of additives, may be related to higher risks to consumer health. This article comments on the results of a study that quantified and characterized food additives found on the labels of 9,856 packaged foods and beverages available in Brazilian supermarkets. The study adopted a field diary method to record and analyze nonconformities in the lists of ingredients. The objective of this article is to discuss the use of additives identified on the labels and the limitations of Brazilian legislation, which should guarantee the right to information and health.

RESUMO Nos últimos tempos, questões vêm sendo levantadas sobre a segurança no uso de aditivos alimentares e em seu consumo. verificou-se que o aumento da exposição a essas substâncias, seja pela ingestão mais frequente de alimentos ultraprocessados ou pela ampla utilização e combinação de várias categorias de aditivos pela indústria, pode estar relacionado ao maior risco à saúde do consumidor. Um estudo quantificou e caracterizou aditivos alimentares encontrados nos rótulos de 9.856 alimentos e bebidas embalados disponíveis nos supermercados brasileiros. nele, foi adotado um diário de campo para registro de falhas e inconformidades nas informações presentes nas listas de ingredientes, sendo, por fim, analisadas qualitativamente e descritas de forma narrativa. Com base nisso, o objetivo deste comentário é apresentar e discutir o uso desses aditivos identificados nos rótulos e as limitações da legislação brasileira, que deveria garantir o direito à informação e a saúde da população.

Abstract Bacterial cellulose (BC) is promising as a wound dressing because it is non- toxic and maintains moisture in the wound. Although BC does not have antimicrobial activity, its structure allows the incorporation of antimicrobial compounds such as essential oils (EOs). This study aims to associate BC with rosemary, clove, eucalyptus, ginger, lavender and lemongrass EOs to obtain wound dressings. The Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy analyses showed characteristic compounds of EOs in the incorporated membranes. These compounds reduced the thermal stability of most samples due to their different degrees of volatility. The Scanning Electron Microscopy indicated that the EOs filled the membrane pores and coated the cellulose fibers. Samples incorporated with clove, ginger and lemongrass EOs inhibited Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans due to the presence of eugenol and citral. The results confirmed the incorporation method's effectiveness, maintaining the composition and antimicrobial characteristics of the EOs.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to construct and validate an instrument to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to pressure injury prevention among caregivers of institutionalized older people. Methods: this is a three-stage methodological study that consisted of instrument construction, analysis by experts, and semantic and appearance analysis, with 78 participants, observing the validation process steps for psychometric instruments in the criteria of clarity and relevance. Results: in the Delphi I round, the validity index of the general content in the clarity criterion was 0.66, in relevance 0.85, and the Kappa value was >0.76. In Delphi II, clarity was 0.95, relevance 1.00, and the Kappa value was >0.97. Conclusions: this is a valid instrument in terms of content and appearance, which allows further analysis of its reliability for the measurement of the constructs for which it is intended. Therefore, it can be considered a tool for care management in pressure injury prevention.

RESUMEN Objetivos: construir y validar un instrumento pera evaluación del conocimiento, actitud y práctica relacionado a la prevención de lesiones por presión entre cuidadores de ancianos institucionalizados. Métodos: estudio metodológico realizado en tres fases: construcción del instrumento, análisis de los evaluadores y análisis semántico y de apariencia, con 78 participantes siguiendo las etapas del proceso de validación de instrumentos psicométricos para los criterios claridad y pertinencia. Resultados: en la ronda Delphi I el índice de validez de contenido general del criterio “claridad” fue de 0,66, “pertinencia” 0,85, y valor de Kappa > 0,76. En Delphi II, el criterio de “claridad” fue 0,95, “pertinencia” 1,00 y valor de Kappa > 0,97. Conclusiones: se tiene un instrumento válido respecto de contenidos y apariencia, para continuar analizando su confiabilidad para medir los constructos a los cuales se propone, para que sirva como herramienta de gestión del cuidado en la prevención de lesiones por presión.

RESUMO Objetivos: construir e validar instrumento relacionado à prevenção de lesão por pressão para avaliação do conhecimento, da atitude e da prática de cuidadores de idosos institucionalizados. Métodos: estudo metodológico realizado em três fases: construção do instrumento, análise dos juízes e análise semântica e aparente, com 78 participantes, seguindo as etapas do processo de validação de instrumentos psicométricos para os critérios clareza e pertinência. Resultados: na rodada Delphi I, o índice de validade de conteúdo global do critério “clareza” foi de 0,66, “pertinência” 0,85 e valor de Kappa > 0,76. Em Delphi II, o critério de “clareza” foi de 0,95, “pertinência” 1,00 e valor de Kappa > 0,97. Conclusões: dispõe-se de instrumento válido quanto a conteúdo e aparência para dar seguimento à análise da sua confiabilidade em medir os construtos aos quais se propõe, para que possa servir de ferramenta para gestão do cuidado na prevenção de lesão por pressão.

ABSTRACT Background: We evaluated the association between polymorphisms in the tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) (-G308A) gene and upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) in schistosomiasis. Methods: This was a transverse study involving 294 Brazilian patients infected with Schistosoma mansoni. Results: The homozygous A/A genotype in TNF-α (-G308A) showed a risk association (prevalence ratio = 1.90, p = 0.008) with UGIB. There was no statistically significant difference in serum TNF-α levels between the clinical groups. Conclusions: The polymorphic TNF-α (-G308A) can be a risk factor for UGIB, in addition to being a potentially predictive factor for the severity of UGIB in schistosomiasis.

Abstract There are no records of autochthonous cases of canine visceral leishmaniasis in the city of Curitiba, Paraná state, Brazil. In 2020, a male French bulldog (CW01), approximately 2 years old was taken by its owners to a private veterinarian clinic. The suspicion of CVL was confirmed by means of a serology test (ELISA/IFAT reagent), rapid chromatographic immunoassay (DPP®) (ELISA - Biomanguinhos®), parasitological culture and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). The animal routinely frequented parks in Curitiba and was taken on several trips to the municipalities of Bombinhas and Balneário Camboriú (Santa Catarina) and to Matinhos (Paraná) where CVL had not previously been reported. Treatment was initiated orally with Milteforan™ which resulted in a significant reduction in the parasitic load. The suspicion of autochthony was investigated through entomological research. A total of 10 traps were installed, one at the animal’s home, seven in adjacent city blocks and two in a forest edge. No sandflies were trapped in the dog’s home and adjacent houses. The traps in the forest edge caught one Migonemyia migonei female and five Brumptomyia spp. females. This case serves as a warning of the possible introduction of CVL in the city of Curitiba.

Resumo Não há registros de casos autóctones de leishmaniose visceral canina (LVC) no município de Curitiba, Paraná, Brasil. Em 2020, um "bulldog" francês macho (CW01), com aproximadamente 2 anos de idade, foi levado por seus donos a uma clínica veterinária particular. A suspeita de LVC foi confirmada por meio de teste sorológico (reagente ELISA/IFAT), imunoensaio cromatográfico rápido (DPP®) (ELISA - Biomanguinhos®), cultura parasitológica e reação quantitativa em cadeia da polimerase (qPCR). O animal frequentava, rotineiramente, parques de Curitiba e foi levado em diversas viagens para Bombinhas e Balneário Camboriú (Santa Catarina) e para Matinhos (Paraná), onde a LVC não havia sido relatada anteriormente. O tratamento foi iniciado por via oral com Milteforan™ (Virbac) o que resultou em redução significativa da carga parasitária. A suspeita de autóctone foi investigada por meio de pesquisa entomológica. Foram instaladas 10 armadilhas, uma na casa do animal, sete em quarteirões adjacentes e duas na borda da mata. Nenhum inseto foi capturado na casa do proprietário do animal e nas casas adjacentes. As armadilhas na borda da mata capturaram uma fêmea de Migonemyia migonei e cinco Brumptomyia spp. fêmeas. Este caso serve de alerta para a possível introdução da LVC na cidade de Curitiba.

Abstract Introduction Post-COVID-19 syndrome is characterized by chronic fatigue and myalgia, among other symptoms, which can limit activities of daily living. Physical therapy protocols with multicomponent exercises combine strength, resistance, balance and gait, producing sig-nificant improvements in functional mobility. Objective Evaluate whether multicomponent rehabilitation is effective in improving functional mobility and quality of life in individuals with post-COVID-19 syndrome. Methods Randomized controlled trial with 59 volunteers, divided into an intervention (IG) and control group (CG), all of whom underwent initial assessment (T0). The IG performed 24 sessions over 12 weeks and the CG did not undergo training. Functional mobility was analyzed using the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) and the Berg balance scale, while the SF-36 questionnaire assessed quality of life. Results In the 6MWT, the IG covered 464.40 + 81.26 meters (T0) and 518.60 + 82.68 meters (T4). The IG Berg scale scores were 48.00 + 4.00 (T0) and 51.90 + 4.26 (T4). In terms of quality of life, the IG obtained mean scores of 96.26 + 10.14 (T0) and 102.60 + 5.53 (T4). None of these measures was statistically significant. Conclusion Individuals who underwent the multicomponent phys-iotherapy protocol showed statistically nonsignificant increases in the variables studied.

Resumo Introdução A síndrome pós-COVID-19 caracteriza-se por fadiga crônica, mialgia, entre outros sintomas que podem causar limitações na realização das atividades de vida diária. Protocolos de fisioterapia com exercício de multicomponentes combinam força, resistência, equi-líbrio e marcha, e produzem melhorias significativas na mobilidade funcional. Objetivo Avaliar se a reabilitação de multicomponentes é eficaz em promover melhora na mobilidade funcional e qualidade de vida em indivíduos com síndrome pós-COVID-19. Métodos Ensaio clínico randomizado, controlado, realizado com 59 voluntários, divididos em grupo intervenção (GI) e grupo controle (GC). Todos fizeram avaliação inicial (T0); GI realizou 24 sessões durante 12 semanas e GC não realizou treinamento. A análise da mobilidade funcional foi realizada através do teste de caminhada de 6 minutos (TC6m) e da escala de equilíbrio de Berg. O questionário SF-36 avaliou a qualidade de vida. Resultados A distância percorrida no TC6m pelo GI foi de 464,40 + 81,26 metros (T0) e de 518,60 + 82,68 metros (T4). A pontuação na escala de Berg do GI foi de 48,00 + 4,00 (T0) e de 51,90 + 4,26 (T4). Na qualidade de vida, GI apresentou escore com média de 96,26 + 10,14 (T0) e 102,60 + 5,53 (T4). Nenhuma destas medidas foram estatisticamente significantes. Conclusão Os indivíduos que foram submetidos ao protocolo fisioterapêutico de multicomponentes apresentaram incrementos nas variáveis estudadas sem significância estatística.

Abstract With the growing number of occupational therapists working at the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS) in Brazil, there has been an increasing need for education processes focusing on the critical development of professional practice in this field. From this education demand, a project was created in October 2020: “Communities of Practice in Occupational Therapy at SUAS: professional planning and construction of strategies” aiming to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences between occupational therapists working in social assistance. This study aims to present the work possibilities and limits at SUAS from the point of view of occupational therapists who work at its units and who participated in the Community of Practice, analyzing whether and how their professional actions have been related to the social occupational therapy theoretical-methodological framework. To this end, all the recording material produced in the two project cycles from October 2020 to July 2021 was revisited. The collected information was organized in a table that grouped the themes found. Data analysis revealed two main aspects that allow the correlation of the professionals’ actions with the social occupational therapy theoretical-methodological framework, namely, the necessary interpretation of the inseparability between micro- and macro-social factors for the development of work and the professional and political dimensions of the occupational-therapeutic actions. In both debates, the social occupational therapy theoretical-methodological framework has been the guiding thread of the process, enabling a social reading and a greater understanding of technical-professional purposes within the scope of social assistance.

Resumo Com o crescente número de terapeutas ocupacionais atuantes no Sistema Único de Assistência Social (SUAS), amplia-se a necessidade por processos formativos que desenvolvam criticamente a atuação profissional neste campo. A partir desta demanda formativa foi criado, em outubro de 2020, um projeto de extensão intitulado “Comunidade de práticas em terapia ocupacional no SUAS: articulação profissional e construção de estratégias”, com o intuito de promover trocas de conhecimento e experiências entre terapeutas ocupacionais trabalhadoras em unidades socioassistenciais. Neste artigo se apresentam as possibilidades e os limites do trabalho no SUAS sob o ponto de vista de terapeutas ocupacionais que nele atuam e que foram participantes da Comunidade de Práticas, analisando se e como suas ações profissionais têm se relacionado com a fundamentação teórico-metodológica da terapia ocupacional social. Para isso, foi revisitado todo o material de registro produzido nos dois ciclos do projeto, efetivados de outubro de 2020 a julho de 2021. As informações extraídas das atas foram organizadas em um quadro que agrupou as temáticas encontradas. A análise dos dados revelou dois principais aspectos que possibilitam a correlação das ações das profissionais com a fundamentação teórico-metodológica da terapia ocupacional social, sendo: a necessária leitura acerca da indissociabilidade entre os fatores micro e macrossociais para o desenvolvimento do trabalho e a dimensão técnico-política da atuação terapêutico-ocupacional. Em ambos os debates a fundamentação teórico-metodológica da terapia ocupacional social foi e tem sido o fio condutor do processo, possibilitando uma leitura social e maior apropriação das finalidades técnico-profissionais no âmbito da assistência social.

ABSTRACT: The production chain of Penaeus vannamei require detailed quality evaluation from farm to processing plant, to maintain the quality standards. We evaluated the impact of production chain steps in main defects of P. vannamei as red hepatopancreas, detached cephalothorax and post-mult. Red hepatopancreas and detached cephalothorax exhibited the highest defect incidence, which are related to capture method and post-harvest handling procedures. Red hepatopancreas showed a positive correlation (r = 0.56; P = 0.008) with post-molts. The Principal Component Analysis (PCA) explained 53.91% of total data variance, where the second principal component (PC2) contributed with 19.39% separating shrimp defects and management steps based on square cosines of red hepatopancreas and transport time. These results suggested that steps of production chain as well as post mortem process are directly related to shrimp defects, and the knowledge of these factors can contribute to improve the product quality.

RESUMO: A cadeia produtiva do Penaeus vannamei exige avaliações detalhadas quanto à qualidade do produto desde o campo até a planta de processamento, considerando a importância da manutenção dos padrões de qualidade. Foi avaliado o impacto das etapas da cadeia produtiva nos principais defeitos do P. vannamei como hepatopâncreas vermelho, cefalotórax desprendido e pós-mudas. Hepatopâncreas e o cefalotórax desprendido foram os defeitos de maior incidência, e estão relacionados ao método de despesca e manuseio pós-abate. O hepatopâncreas vermelho apresentou correlação positiva (r = 0,56; P = 0.008) com pós-muda. A Análise de Componentes Principais (ACP) explicou 53,91% da variância total dos dados, onde o segundo componente principal (PC2) contribuiu com 19,39% separando os defeitos do camarão e as etapas de manejo com base nos cossenos quadrados do hepatopâncreas vermelho e tempo de transporte. Esses resultados sugerem que as etapas da cadeia produtiva bem como o processo post mortem estão diretamente relacionados aos defeitos dos camarões, e o conhecimento desses fatores pode contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade do produto.

BACKGROUND Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne virus that has been causing large outbreaks in the Americas since 2014. In Brazil, Asian-Caribbean (AC) and East-Central-South-African (ECSA) genotypes have been detected and lead to large outbreaks in several Brazilian states. In Rio Grande do Sul (RS), the southernmost state of Brazil, the first cases were reported in 2016. OBJECTIVES AND METHODS We employed genome sequencing and epidemiological investigation to characterise the Chikungunya fever (CHIKF) burden in RS between 2017-2021. FINDINGS We detected an increasing CHIKF burden linked to travel associated introductions and communitary transmission of distinct lineages of the ECSA genotype during this period. MAIN CONCLUSIONS Until 2020, CHIKV introductions were most travel associated and transmission was limited. Then, in 2021, the largest outbreak occurred in the state associated with the introduction of a new ECSA lineage. CHIKV outbreaks are likely to occur in the near future due to abundant competent vectors and a susceptible population, exposing more than 11 million inhabitants to an increasing infection risk.
