Abstract This study examines the adequacy, readability, and quality of the information provided on package inserts for veterinary medicines in Brazil. It aims to identify the essential information required in these documents and assess non-compliance with regulatory standards. Initially, a documentary analysis was conducted to identify mandatory information as per Federal Decree No. 5,053/2004 and Normative Instruction No. 26/2009 of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. Subsequently, 256 package inserts were analyzed to evaluate their suitability using descriptive quantitative analysis. This analysis showed a lack of essential technical and scientific information, necessary for the rational use of veterinary medicines. Mandatory elements supporting the correct use of veterinary medicines and essential information, such as a qualitative description of excipients, equivalence factors, the mass of active pharmaceutical ingredient per volume (when applicable), and information about the customer service center, were absent from these documents. This study found at least one non-conformity in the 252 evaluated package inserts. These findings underscore the significant lack of adherence to established rules and the low quality of technical-scientific information, reducing the comprehension of both prescribers and owners. Abstract Objective: To assess the epidemiological profile and trend in hospitalizations for mental and behavioral disorders due to alcohol and other psychoactive substance use among Brazilian adolescents, between 2017 and 2022. Methods: This was a time-series study using data from the Hospital Information System of the Brazilian National Health System; the trend analysis was performed by estimating the annual percentage change (APC) of hospitalization rates per 100,000 inhabitants and respective confidence intervals (95%CI), using the Prais-Winsten method. Resumen Objetivo: Analizar el perfil epidemiológico y la tendencia de las hospitalizaciones por trastornos mentales y de comportamiento relacionados con el uso de alcohol y otras sustancias psicoactivas en adolescentes brasileños, desde 2017 hasta 2022. Resumo Objetivo: Analisar o perfil epidemiológico e a tendência das internações hospitalares por transtornos mentais e comportamentais devido ao uso de álcool e de outras substâncias psicoativas em adolescentes brasileiros, de 2017 a 2022. RESUMO Objetivo: Analisar as coberturas vacinais (CV) da poliomielite nos municípios do Vale do Paraíba paulista. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo ecológico e exploratório de CV em 35 municípios com abordagem espacial. Os dados de CV foram obtidos do Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde (DATASUS), referentes aos anos de 2015 e 2019 e categorizados em baixa (CV<95%) e ideal (≥95%). Foram obtidas informações sobre Produto Interno Bruto (PIB), taxas de profissionais, número de unidades básicas de saúde (UBS) e dados maternos como idade, estado civil (EC) e escolaridade. Foram estimados índices de Moran univariados e bivariados para os anos de 2015 e 2019 e criados mapas temáticos para valores de CV. Resultados: Os valores médios de CV foram de 107,7%±27,2 em 2015 e 94,2%±27,8 em 2019 (p<0,05). Em 2015, eram dez municípios na categoria baixa e, em 2019, eram 25 municípios. Em 2015, as variáveis CV, número de UBS, idade, escolaridade e situação marital foram correlacionadas espacialmente, mas em 2019 apenas idade materna e escolaridade foram correlacionadas espacialmente. O Moran bivariado foi significativo e negativo para CV em 2019 com escolaridade materna. Houve aumento de municípios com piora nos valores de CV. ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze vaccination coverage (VC) for polio in the municipalities of Vale do Paraíba in the State of São Paulo. Methods: This is an ecological and exploratory study of VC in 35 municipalities using a spatial approach; VC data were obtained from the IT Department of the Unified Health System (DATASUS), for the years 2015 and 2019, and categorized into Low (VC<95%) and ideal (≥95%). Information was obtained on gross domestic product (GDP), professional rates and number of basic health units (UBS) and maternal data such as age, marital status (MS) and education. Univariate and bivariate Moran indices were estimated for the years 2015 and 2019, and thematic maps were created for CV values. Results: The average VC values were 107.7%±27.2 in 2015, and 94.2%±27.8 in 2019 (p<0.05). In 2015 vs. 2019, there were 10 vs. 25 municipalities in the Low category. In 2015, the variables VC, number of UBS, age, education, and MS were spatially correlated, but in 2019 only maternal age and education were spatially correlated. The bivariate Moran was significant and negative for VC in 2019 with maternal education. There was an increase in municipalities with worsening VC values. Conclusions: The spatial approach identified a decrease in polio vaccination coverage in the studied region. Resumo Os consórcios públicos de saúde (CPS) representam uma estratégia para potencializar a regionalização no SUS e a cooperação interfederativa. A implantação de policlínicas regionais visa melhorar o acesso a serviços de maior densidade tecnológica, mais próximos ao município de origem dos usuários. Este estudo objetiva analisar o processo de implantação dos consórcios públicos de saúde e das policlínicas regionais na Bahia, com base em análise documental, identificando aspectos facilitadores e dificultadores relativos à entrada na agenda política, ao papel da gestão estadual e às especificidades da composição dos CPS e das policlínicas regionais no estado da Bahia. Realizou-se análise documental das atas da Comissão Intergestores Bipartite dos anos de 2015 a 2018 e de documentos constitutivos dos consórcios implantados na Bahia. A experiência do Ceará inspirou a criação dos consórcios na Bahia, sobretudo na estruturação das policlínicas. Verificou-se posicionamento favorável dos gestores municipais acerca da potencialidade do consórcio na cooperação entre municípios. A atuação do governo do estado revelou-se condição facilitadora, e a manutenção da contrapartida municipal no financiamento, como elemento dificultador. Abstract Public Health Consortiums (PHC) in Brazil represent a strategy to enhance regionalization in the Public Health Care System (SUS in Portuguese) and State/interstate/intermunicipal cooperation. The establishment of regional polyclinics aims to improve access to services with greater technological concentration and closer to users’ homes. This study specifically aims to analyze the process of creating PHC and regional polyclinics in Bahia State, based on documental analysis, identifying aspects related to entering the political agenda that facilitate and hinder, the role of state administration, specificities of the composition of these PHC and regional polyclinics. A documental analysis was carried out of the minutes of the Comissão Intergestores Bipartite (CIB-BA) [Bipartite Administrative Commission] from 2015 to 2018 and of constitutive documents of the consortiums established in this state. The Ceará State experience inspired the creation of consortiums in Bahia, especially the structuring of polyclinics. Municipal administrators demonstrated a favorable position regarding the potential of consortiums with cooperation among municipalities. The role of the state government proved to be a facilitating condition, whereas the maintenance of the municipal counterpart in finance constituted a hindering element. A atuação do governo do estado revelou-se condição facilitadora, e a manutenção da contrapartida municipal no financiamento, como elemento dificultador. Os consórcios contribuíram para a regionalização da saúde no estado e a ampliação do acesso à atenção especializada.

Abstract Public Health Consortiums (PHC) in Brazil represent a strategy to enhance regionalization in the Public Health Care System (SUS in Portuguese) and State/interstate/intermunicipal cooperation. The establishment of regional polyclinics aims to improve access to services with greater technological concentration and closer to users’ homes. This study specifically aims to analyze the process of creating PHC and regional polyclinics in Bahia State, based on documental analysis, identifying aspects related to entering the political agenda that facilitate and hinder, the role of state administration, specificities of the composition of these PHC and regional polyclinics. A documental analysis was carried out of the minutes of the Comissão Intergestores Bipartite (CIB-BA) [Bipartite Administrative Commission] from 2015 to 2018 and of constitutive documents of the consortiums established in this state. The Ceará State experience inspired the creation of consortiums in Bahia, especially the structuring of polyclinics. Municipal administrators demonstrated a favorable position regarding the potential of consortiums with cooperation among municipalities. The role of the state government proved to be a facilitating condition, whereas the maintenance of the municipal counterpart in finance constituted a hindering element. The consortiums contributed to the regionalization of health in the state as well as expansion of access to specialized care.

Abstract Objectives: to analyze differences between violence against children and adolescents according to characteristics of cases, probable perpetrators, occurrences and typologies and compare their temporal and spatial distributions. Methods: data were collected from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN), Maranhão, from 2009-2019. Results: 4,457 notifications of violence against children and 5,826 against adolescents were analyzed. In the 11 years investigated, violence against children was more frequent in 2015 and 2016 and in five of the 19 Maranhão Health Regions. Violence against males was more frequent in childhood and against females prevailed mostly in adolescence (p<0.001). While mothers (p<0.001), fathers (p=0.029) and caregivers (p<0.001) were most frequently accused of violence against children, friends/ acquaintances (p<0.001), spouses/boyfriends/girlfriends (p<0.001) and strangers (p<0.001) mainly assaulted adolescents. Violence motivated by sexism (p=0.006), generational conflict (p<0.001), street situation (p=0.002) and disability (p=0.035) were more frequent in adolescence. Physical (p<0.001), sexual (p<0.001) and psychological/moral (p<0.001) violence, torture (p<0.001) and self-aggression (p<0.001) were most commonly reported in adolescence and neglect/abandonment predominated was mostly reported against children (p<0.001). Conclusions: violence against children and adolescents residing in the state of Maranhão and notified in SINAN were distinct phenomena in relation to the characteristics of cases, probable authors, occurrences, and typologies. Resumo Objetivos: analisar diferenças entre violências praticadas contra crianças e adolescentes segundo características de casos, prováveis autores, ocorrências e tipologias e comparar suas distribuições temporais e espaciais. Métodos: os dados foram coletados do Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação (SINAN), Maranhão, de 2009-2019. Resultados: foram analisadas 4.457 notificações de violências contra crianças e 5.826 contra adolescentes. Nos 11 anos investigados, violências contra crianças predominaram em 2015 e 2016 e em cinco de 19 Regiões de Saúde maranhenses. Violências contra casos do sexo masculino foram mais frequentes na infância e contra pessoas do sexo feminino prevaleceram na adolescência (p<0,001). Enquanto mães (p<0,001), pais (p=0,029) e cuidadores (p<0,001) foram mais acusados de violência contra crianças, amigos/conhecidos (p<0,001), cônjuges/namorados(as) (p<0,001) e desconhecidos (p<0,001) teriam agredido principalmente adolescentes. Violências motivadas por sexismo (p=0,006), conflito geracional (p<0,001), situação de rua (p=0,002) e deficiência (p=0,035) foram mais frequentes na adolescência. Violências física (p<0,001), sexual (p<0,001) e psicológica/moral (p<0,001), tortura (p<0,001) e autoagressões (p<0,001) foram mais notificadas na adolescência e negligência/abandono predominou contra crianças (p<0,001). ABSTRACT Objective Compare the results of medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) using a mobile platform and total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in patients with isolated medial osteoarthritis. Methods Retrospectivecross-sectional study. Preoperative radiographs of 602 patientswho underwent knee arthroplastybetween February 2017 and February 2020 were evaluated. Isolated medial osteoarthritis was found in 125 patients. Of these, 57 underwent UKA and 68 TKA. With chart analysis and telephone interviews, we compared patients’ clinical outcomes and degree of satisfaction. The statistical analysis used a confidence level of 5%. Results The group of UKA patients obtained 65.8% of favorable results against 79.1% of those undergoing TKA in the function questionnaire (p<0.0001). The complication rate was statistically similar between the groups(p>0.5). Most patients were satisfied or very satisfied in both groups (88.6% of UKA and 91.2% of TKA) (p>0.999). Conclusion Patients submitted to UKA or TKA have presented the same degree of satisfaction and rate of postoperative complications when comparing patients with isolated medial osteoarthritis. RESUMO Objetivo Comparar os resultados da artroplastia unicompartimental do joelho (UKA) medial com plataforma móvel e artroplastia total do joelho (TKA) em pacientes com osteoartrose medial isolada. Métodos Estudo transversal retrospectivo. Foram avaliadas radiografias pré-operatórias de 602 pacientes submetidos à artroplastia de joelho entre fevereiro de 2017 e fevereiro de 2020. A osteoartrose medial isolada foi encontrada em 125 pacientes, destes em 57 haviam sido submetidos a UKA e 68 TKA. Com análise de prontuários e entrevistas telefônicas comparamos os resultados clínicos e o grau de satisfação dos pacientes. A análise estatística utilizou nível de confiança de 5%. Resultados O grupo de pacientes com UKA obteve 65,8% de resultados favoráveis contra 79,1% daqueles submetidos à TKA no questionário de função (p<0,0001). A taxa de complicações foi estatisticamente semelhante entre os grupos (p>0,5). ABSTRACT Objective: The objectives of this study were: (1) to analyze the temporal trend of tuberculosis treatment outcomes in the state of Sergipe; (2) to identify the existence of seasonality of tuberculosis; (3) to verify the influence of the rapid molecular test (MTB-RIF) in the time series of tuberculosis and its treatment outcomes in the state of Sergipe; and (4) to verify treatment outcomes. Methods: Ecological study on tuberculosis and three treatment outcomes (cure, interruption of treatment, and death) extracted from Datasus. Incidence and mortality rates were calculated for the crude occurrences of cases and deaths and the proportions of cure and interruption of treatment (%). The time series was analyzed using Prais-Winsten regression from Jan to Dec/2021. Results: The total incidence rate was 36.35 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with an increase of 0.44% per month (95%CI 0.35; 0.54). The cure rate was 64.0% with a steady trend (p>0.05). The percentage of treatment interruption was 13.3%, with a reduction of −0.73%/month (95%CI −1.11; −0.34). The total mortality rate was 1.92 deaths/100,000 inhabitants with a stationary trend. After the implementation of the MTB-RIF, there was an increase in the incidence rate of 0.65% per month. Seasonality was not identified in any of the analyses performed (p>0.05). Conclusion: There was an increase in incidence rates, reduction in treatment interruption and mortality in the state of Sergipe. Seasonality was not identified. Abstract In animal production, a large part of financial resources is destined to animal feed, so the use of low-cost diets with maximum production efficiency is crucial. The present study evaluated the effects of a high-grain diet and the use of residual frying oil on the productive performance and carcass characteristics of lambs. Fifteen lambs were distributed into three groups in a completely randomized design in which they were fed a control diet, a high-grain diet, or a diet with the inclusion of residual frying oil, for 40 days. There was no difference (P > 0.05) between the control and frying-oil diets regarding the daily intakes of dry matter, crude protein, mineral matter, neutral detergent fiber, or total carbohydrates. The high-grain diet reduced the intake of dry matter and nutrients, negatively affecting weight gain. The highest means for final weight, total weight, and daily weight gain were obtained with the control diet and the diet containing residual oil, which did not differ from each other (P> 0.05). Slaughter weight and hot and cold carcass weights decreased with the high-grain diet. There was an effect (P < 0.05) of frying oil inclusion on the carcass characteristics of the lambs. The diets did not affect (P > 0.05) carcass yields. The animals on the high-grain diet showed unsatisfactory production performance, with impaired carcass characteristics. Resumo Na produção animal, grande parte dos recursos financeiros destina-se à alimentação animal, portanto é essencial utilizar dietas de baixo custo e com máxima eficiência produtiva. O presente estudo avaliou os efeitos de uma dieta de alto grão e do óleo residual de fritura sobre o desempenho produtivo e as características de carcaça de cordeiros. Quinze cordeiros foram distribuídos aleatoriamente em três grupos e alimentados por 40 dias com uma dieta controle, dieta de alto grão ou dieta com inclusão de óleo residual de fritura. Não houve diferença (P > 0,05) entre as dietas controle e com óleo de fritura para consumo diário de matéria seca, proteína bruta, matéria mineral, FDN e carboidratos totais. A dieta de alto grão reduziu o consumo de matéria seca e nutrientes, afetando negativamente o ganho de peso. As maiores médias de peso final, ganho de peso total e diário foram obtidas nas dietas controle e com óleo residual, que não diferiram entre elas (P> 0,05). O peso corporal de abate e os pesos de carcaça quente e fria diminuíram com a dieta de alto grão. Houve efeito (P < 0,05) da inclusão de óleo de fritura sobre as características da carcaça. Abstract Acmella bellidioides (Asteraceae), commonly known as "arnica-do-campo", is a South American native medicinal plant mainly found in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. The indigenous people in these regions use the flowers of this plant to treat diseases of the digestive, musculoskeletal and sensory systems. Many Acmella species are morphologically similar, and there are a few anatomical studies available in the literature that can be used to identify and distinguish them. Several other members of Asteraceae, such as Calea uniflora, Chaptalia nutans, Porophyllum ruderale, Pseudobrickellia brasiliensis and Solidago chilensis, are also called "arnica-do-campo" or "arnica". Applying the same common name to several other species makes it difficult to identify the plant correctly and allows it to be more easily adulterated. The present study characterizes A. bellidioides using microscopy and microchemical techniques to provide pharmacobotanical data to support the authentication of the species. The notable anatomical markers identified in A. bellidioides are hypostomatic leaves, anomocytic stomata, peltate glandular trichomes on the leaf abaxial surface, midrib vascular system with three collateral bundles in an open arch, and the presence of prismatic crystals in the leaves and stems. No entanto, o melhoramento genético florestal não tem sido devidamente aplicado para espécies nativas da região Amazônica. O objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar se progênies de Parkia multijuga possuem desempenho silvicultural diferenciado e se é possível agrupá-las em diferentes classes de desempenho. O experimento foi instalado no delineamento de blocos casualizados com 14 progênies, sendo, ao total,18 mudas por cada progênie plantadas em seis blocos (252 plantas). Três anos após o plantio foram avaliados os caracteres: diâmetro à altura do peito (DAP), altura total, altura do fuste, diâmetro da copa, comprimento da copa, área de copa, proporção de copa, grau de esbeltez (GE), índice de abrangência (IA), índice de saliência (IS), ocorrência de bifurcação, percentual de indivíduos com fuste retilíneo e o estado fitossanitário. Foram também calculados: a sobrevivência, o incremento médio anual em altura e diâmetro e o índice de resposta integrada (IRI = sobrevivência e incrementos). O IRI variou cerca de três vezes entre a melhor e a pior progênie, da qual as progênies 7, 6, 11 e 10 tiveram os maiores valores de IRI. Uma análise de componentes principais com as características silviculturais de maior interesse (IRI, DAP, GE, fuste retilíneo, bifurcação e estado fitossanitário) permitiu agrupar as progênies 6, 7 e 11 entre aquelas com melhor desempenho silvicultural. A maior parte das progênies apresentou desempenho intermediário e semelhante entre si, sendo o pior desempenho para a maioria das características relacionado à progênie 2. Progênies de Parkia multijuga divergem quanto ao desempenho silvicultural durante o estabelecimento inicial dos plantios. Logo, o agrupamento das progênies com melhores desempenhos é fundamental na seleção de materiais genéticos superiores para a composição de plantios de produção desta espécie na região Amazônica.

ABSTRACT Progeny tests are strategies for ex situ genetic conservation and genetic improvement, as they allow the selection of genotypes of better quality and high productivity. However, the tree genetic improvement has not been properly applied to native species of the Amazon region. We investigated if Parkia multijuga progenies have different silvicultural performance and if it is possible to cluster them into different performance classes. The experiment was settled in a complete random block design with 14 progenies, a total of 18 seedlings from each progeny planted in six blocks (252 plants). Three years after planting, the following variables were evaluated: diameter at breast height (DBH), total height, stem height, crown diameter, crown length, crown area, crown ratio, slenderness (S), range index (RI), salience index (SI), bifurcation occurrence, percentage of individuals with rectilinear stem and phytosanitary status. Survival, mean annual increment in height and diameter and the integrated response index (IRI = survival and increments) were also calculated. IRI varied about three times between the best and the worst progeny, of which the progenies 7, 6, 11 and 10 had the highest IRI values. The Principal Component Analysis of the most interesting silvicultural characteristics (IRI, DBH, GE, rectilinear stem, bifurcation, and phytosanitary status) allowed to group progenies 6, 7 and 11 among those with the best silvicultural performance. Most progenies showed intermediate and similar performance, being the worst performance for most traits related to the progeny 2. Progenies of Parkia multijuga diverge as to the silvicultural performance during the initial establishment of the plantations. Therefore, the grouping of progenies with better performance is fundamental in the selection of superior genetic material for the composition of productive plantations of this species in the Amazon region.

Abstract Introduction: The increase in the incidence of pancreatic and biliary cancers has attracted the search for methods of early detection of diseases and biomarkers. The authors propose to analyze new findings on the association between microbiota and Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (PDAC) or Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). Methods: This systematic review was carried out according to the items of Preferred Reports for Systematic Reviews and Protocol Meta-Analysis (PRISMA-P). This study was registered by the Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO), identification code CRD42020192748 before the review was carried out. Articles were selected from the PUBMED, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases. Results: Most studies (86.67%) used 16s rRNA as a sequencing method. The main comorbidities found were diabetes mellitus, systemic arterial hypertension, and dyslipidemia. Many studies were limited by the small number of participants, but the biases were mostly low. There was very little concordance about the composition of the microbiome of different sites, for both case and control groups when compared to other studies’ results. Bile sample analysis was the one with a greater agreement between studies, as three out of four studies found Escherichia in cases of CCA. Conclusion: There was great disagreement in the characterization of both the microbiota of cases and control groups. Studies are still scarce, making it difficult to adequately assess the data in this regard. It was not possible to specify any marker or to associate any genus of microbiota bacteria with PDAC or CCA.
