ABSTRACT Purpose Our objective was to investigate the prevalence of SWA, associated factors, relationship with STIs, and behavioral aspects in men attended at Referral Centers for STIs and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)/CR-STI/AIDS in northeast Brazil. Materials and Methods In this cross-sectional study, a questionnaire with sociodemographic, clinical, sexual and SWA practices information was applied to 400 men attended at two CR-STI/AIDS in Northeast Brazil on the years of 2018 and 2019. Clinical and laboratory diagnoses of STIs were confirmed in medical records. Logistic regression models were performed to identify the independent predictors for SWA. Results The prevalence of SWA over total samples was 15.00%. Of the participants, 239 (59.75%) of the participants were diagnosed with STIs, and of these 37 (15.48%) reported SWA. Most men practiced SWA in adolescence, being the last episode more than 20 years ago, usually with asinine and mules, in vaginal route and without a condom. SWA practitioners have higher percentages of occurrence of some viral STIs. SWA was associated with increasing age, history of residence in a rural area with remained over 12 years, married or widowed/separated, heterosexuals, with less than 7 years of study, Catholics, with hepatitis B, former user of alcoholic beverages and smokers, with a history of STI and intercourse with sex workers. Conclusion SWA practices increase STIs vulnerability. The association between hepatitis B and SWA highlights the importance of educational campaigns and conclusive studies on the topic.

ABSTRACT Models that simulate the process of stomatal conductance (gs) for a given set of environmental conditions are important, as this process is the main mechanism that controls the gas exchange of terrestrial plants absorbing atmospheric CO2 in tropical forests. Simulations were performed for the Tapajós National Forest, in the western Brazilian Amazon, observing the gs process under the current climate scenario (control) and under the scenarios RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 (2071 - 2100), using the ED2.2 ecosystem demography model. The results showed that the lower availability of soil water for the plants reduced photosynthesis due to the closing of the stomata. The model results for gross primary productivity (GPP) are similar to those observed in the field, varying about ≈24 MgC ha-1 year-1 for the rainy season and ≈23 MgC ha-1 year-1 for the dry season (average 2002 to 2010) in the control scenario. In the RCP4.5 scenario, simulated GPP was 30.7 and 30 MgC ha-1year-1 for the rainy and dry season, respectively (30.5 and 25 MgC ha-1year-1, respectively, for the RCP8.5 scenario). Our results also show that there may be a limitation on the increase in biomass carbon with the concentration of CO2, as GPP was lower in RCP8.5, despite this scenario having a higher value of atmospheric CO2 relative to RCP4.5.

RESUMO Modelos que simulam o processo de condutância estomática (gs) para um determinado conjunto de condições ambientais são importantes, pois esse processo é o principal mecanismo que controla as trocas gasosas das plantas terrestres ao absorver o CO2 atmosférico em florestas tropicais. Realizamos simulações para a Floresta Nacional do Tapajós, na Amazônia Ocidental brasileira, observando o processo da gs sob o cenário climático atual (controle) e sob os cenários RCP4.5 e RCP8.5 (2071 - 2100) usando o modelo demográfico de ecossistema ED2.2. Os resultados mostraram que a menor disponibilidade de água no solo para as plantas reduziu a fotossíntese devido ao fechamento dos estômatos. Os resultados do modelo para produtividade primária bruta (PPB) foram semelhantes aos observados em campo, variando cerca de ≈24 MgC ha-1 ano-1 para a estação chuvosa e ≈23 MgC ha-1 ano-1 para a estação seca (média 2002 a 2010) no cenário controle. No cenário RCP4.5, o resultado da PPB simulado foi de 30,7 e 30 MgC ha-1ano-1 para as estações chuvosa e seca, respectivamente (30,5 e 25 MgC ha-1 ano-1, respectivamente, para o cenário RCP8.5). Nossos resultados mostram que pode haver uma limitação no aumento do carbono da biomassa com a concentração de CO2, uma vez que a PPB foi menor no RCP8.5, apesar deste cenário ter um valor maior de CO2 atmosférico em relação ao RCP4.5.

ABSTRACT Objective: to produce and validate a booklet, based on Jean Watson’s Theory, on home care for premature newborns, based on caregivers’ experiences. Method: a methodological study, developed in the following stages: diagnosis of knowledge needs about home care; survey of scientific content; educational material production; and validity by judges/experts. Results: the literature review resulted in 19 articles. The main themes (breastfeeding, bath care, bond building, infection prevention and support network) were listed for producing the booklet “Booklet for Premature Newborns: Demystifying Home Care”. The booklet content and appearance received the overall Content Validity Index of 0.85, considered suitable within the scientific rigor of validity. Final considerations: the booklet produced and validated is an educational material whose main role is to provide knowledge and awaken caregivers’ autonomy in providing home care to newborns.

RESUMEN Objetivo: producir y validar una cartilla, basada en la Teoría de Jean Watson, sobre el cuidado domiciliario del recién nacido prematuro, a partir de las experiencias de los cuidadores. Método: estudio metodológico, desarrollado en las siguientes etapas: diagnóstico de las necesidades de conocimiento sobre el cuidado domiciliario; encuesta de contenido científico; producción de material educativo; y validación por jueces/expertos. Resultados: la revisión de la literatura resultó en 19 artículos. Se enumeraron los temas principales (lactancia materna, cuidado del baño, creación de vínculos, prevención de infecciones y red de apoyo) para la producción del folleto “Cuaderno para Recién Nacidos Prematuros: Desmitificando el Cuidado Domiciliario”. El contenido y apariencia del cuadernillo recibió el Índice de Validez de Contenido Global de 0,85, considerado adecuado dentro del rigor científico de la validez. Consideraciones finales: la cartilla producida y validada es un material educativo que tiene como función principal proporcionar conocimientos y despertar la autonomía de los cuidadores en la atención domiciliaria al recién nacido.

Método: estudo metodológico, desenvolvido nas etapas: diagnóstico das necessidades de conhecimento sobre os cuidados domiciliares; levantamento dos conteúdos científicos; produção de material educativo; e validação por juízas/experts. Resultados: a revisão da literatura resultou em 19 artigos. Elencaram-se os principais temas (amamentação, cuidados com o banho, construção de vínculo, prevenção de infecções e rede de apoio), para produção da cartilha intitulada “Cartilha de Cuidados com o Recém-Nascido Prematuro: Desmistificando o Cuidar no Domicílio”. O conteúdo e aparência da cartilha recebeu o Índice de Validade de Conteúdo Global de 0,85, considerado adequado dentro do rigor científico de validade. Considerações finais: a cartilha produzida e validada é um material educativo cujo papel principal é proporcionar conhecimento e despertar a autonomia dos cuidadores na prestação dos cuidados domiciliares ao recém-nascido.

Abstract Objective To identify the race/color self-reported by women 60 days postpartum; to identify the prevalence of signs of depressive disorder among these women and to verify the association between signs of depressive disorder and the self-reported race/color. Methods Cross-sectional study carried out in a noncapital city in the state of São Paulo. An instrument with sociodemographic data and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale were used for data collection. Data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences, SPSS, version 17.0. Results A total of 186 women participated in this study, 60.8% reported being brown, 24.2% had signs of depressive disorder and, among these, 81.7% were black. Signs of depressive disorder were associated with the variables: number of children (p=0.006), planned pregnancy (p=0.04) and type of delivery (p< 0.001). Conclusion The results of this study contribute to greater visibility of the issue of women’s mental health, specifically of black women, because even though no significant association was identified among those who showed signs of depressive disorder, most were black.

Resumen Objetivo Identificar la raza/color autodeclarado por mujeres con 60 días de posparto, identificar la prevalencia de indicios de trastorno depresivo en esas mujeres y verificar la relación entre los indicios de trastorno depresivo y el ítem raza/color autodeclarado. Métodos Estudio transversal realizado en un municipio del interior paulista. Para la recopilación de datos, se utilizó un instrumento con datos sociodemográficos y la Escala de Depresión Posnatal de Edimburgo. Para analizar los datos se utilizó el Statistical Package for Social Sciences, SPSS, versión 17.0. Resultados Participaron en el estudio 186 mujeres, el 60,8 % declararon ser de color pardo, el 24,2 % presentó indicios de trastorno depresivo y, entre ellas, el 81,7 % era de raza negra. Los indicios de trastorno depresivo se relacionaron a las variables: número de hijos (p=0,006), embarazo planeado (p=0,04) y tipo de parto (p< 0,001). Conclusión Los resultados de este estudio contribuyen para una mayor visibilidad del tema de salud mental de las mujeres, específicamente de mujeres negras, ya que, aunque no se haya identificado una relación significativa entre las que presentaron indicios de trastorno depresivo, la mayoría era de raza negra.

Conclusão Os resultados deste estudo contribuem para maior visibilidade da temática da saúde mental das mulheres, especificamente das mulheres negras, pois, mesmo que não tenha sido identificada associação significativa dentre aquelas que apresentaram indicativo de transtorno depressivo, a maioria era da raça negra.

Abstract Background The COVID-19 pandemic has changed food consumption. Objective Evaluate the association between metabolic phenotypes, changes in food consumption during the pandemic, and health outcomes in obese women. Methods Cross-sectional observational study including 491 women without previous diagnosis of chronic diseases, evaluated according to metabolic phenotype. During the pandemic, a subsample was re-evaluated by online questionnaires via Google Forms. Analyzed anthropometric, biochemical, and dietary data as well as health outcomes (coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia or death). Information on mortality was collected from the Internal Affairs Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro and the Health Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro. Statistical analysis was performed using the statistical program SPSS 21, with Mann-Whitney test, Pearson’s chi-squared, Spearman correlation, and binary logistic regression, at a significance level of 5%. Results The anthropometric, glucose, and lipid profiles showed significant differences between the metabolically healthy and metabolically unhealthy groups (p = 0.00). Before the pandemic, women in the metabolically unhealthy group had higher dietary intakes of lipids (p = 0.01), saturated fat (p = 0.01) and sodium (p = 0.04), during the pandemic, they consumed more energy (p = 0.04), lipids (p = 0.02), saturated fat (p = 0.02), proteins (p = 0.03) and sodium from ultra-processed foods (p = 0.03). Consequently, health outcomes were more prevalent in the metabolically unhealthy group (p = 0.00). Conclusion Observed that metabolically healthy women had qualitatively better food intake and fewer health outcomes throughout the study.

Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate uterine involution using ultrasonography techniques during postpartum. Postpartum ultrasonography evaluation (B-mode, color Doppler and Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse elastography) of the uterus was performed by transabdominal approach at immediate after birth and sequentially every 48 hours, during 30 days. The uterine echotexture did not present significant variations (P >0.05) being homogeneous in most evaluations; echogenicity of the uterus increased along the evaluation period (P =0.0452). Progressive and remarkable decrease of the total uterine diameter (UD) were observed (P <0.0001), especially during the first days postpartum. The thickness of uterine wall gradually decreased, as well the endometrial, myometrium and lumen diameters (P <0.0001). Uterine blood flow was assessed by Doppler and decreased during postpartum period, being significantly lower (P=0.0225) on the 30th day of postpartum. Uterine parenchyma presented as homogeneous dark areas (not deformable) on qualitative ultrasound elastography and the means shear velocity values of the uterine wall on quantitative elastography did not differ. This is the first study that evaluate the stiffness of uterine wall in healthy ewes, providing baseline data about quantitative and qualitative stiffness of the normal uterus, and it may be a useful tool for early diagnosis of uterine alterations during the postpartum period, using the reference parameter established for the assessment of uterine integrity during postpartum period.

Abstract Objective to investigate self-perception of oral conditions and associated factors in rural quilombola older people in northern Minas Gerais, Brazil. Method This is an analytical and cross-sectional population-based study, in which cluster sampling with probability proportional to size (n=406) was used. Data collection involved conducting interviews and clinical dental examinations. Self-perception of oral conditions was assessed using the GOHAI (Geriatric Oral Health Determination Index). Results Most older people self-perceived oral health as excellent (46.3%) or regular (30.2%). Those surveyed also revealed precarious oral health and restricted access to dental services. In the multiple analysis, significant associations (p˂0.05) were found between regular GOHAI and variables related to the location of the last consultation and use of prosthesis, as well as between poor GOHAI and variables related to marital status, religion, reason for last consultation, CPO-D index and use of prosthesis. Conclusion A significant portion of the quilombola older people showed a more positive self-assessment of oral health, which differs from the professionally verified dental condition. It was also found that the report of poor perception of oral conditions was strongly associated with poorer oral health among those investigated.

Resumo Objetivo investigar a autopercepção das condições bucais e fatores associados em idosos quilombolas rurais do norte de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Método Trata-se de um estudo analítico e transversal de base populacional, no qual utilizou-se uma amostragem por conglomerados com probabilidade proporcional ao tamanho (n=406). A coleta de dados envolveu a realização de entrevistas e exames clínicos odontológicos. A autopercepção das condições bucais foi avaliada por meio do GOHAI (Índice de Determinação da Saúde Bucal Geriátrica). Resultados A maioria dos idosos autopercebeu a saúde bucal como ótima (46,3%) ou regular (30,2%). Os pesquisados revelaram ainda precária saúde bucal e acesso restrito aos serviços odontológicos. Verificaram-se, na análise múltipla, associações significantes (p˂0,05) entre GOHAI regular e variáveis relativas ao local da última consulta e uso de prótese, bem como entre GOHAI ruim e variáveis atinentes ao estado conjugal, religião, motivo da última consulta, índice CPO-D e uso de prótese. Conclusão Parcela expressiva dos idosos quilombolas manifestou uma autoavaliação mais positiva da saúde bucal, divergente do quadro odontológico constatado profissionalmente. Constatou-se ainda que o relato de percepção ruim das condições bucais esteve fortemente associado a uma saúde bucal mais precária entre os investigados.

Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the contribution of oral and maxillofacial pathology laboratories (OMPLs) in Brazilian public universities to the diagnosis of lip, oral cavity, and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). A cross-sectional study was performed using biopsy records from a consortium of sixteen public OMPLs from all regions of Brazil (North, Northeast, Central-West, Southeast, and South). Clinical and demographic data of patients diagnosed with lip, oral cavity, and oropharyngeal SCC between 2010 and 2019 were collected from the patients’ histopathological records. Of the 120,010 oral and maxillofacial biopsies (2010-2019), 6.9% (8,321 cases) were diagnosed as lip (0.8%, 951 cases), oral cavity (4.9%, 5,971 cases), and oropharyngeal (1.2%, 1,399 cases) SCCs. Most cases were from Brazil’s Southeast (64.5%), where six of the OMPLs analyzed are located. The predominant profile of patients with lip and oral cavity SCC was Caucasian men, with a mean age over 60 years, low schooling level, and a previous history of heavy tobacco consumption. In the oropharyngeal group, the majority were non-Caucasian men, with a mean age under 60 years, had a low education level, and were former/current tobacco and alcohol users. According to data from the Brazilian National Cancer Institute, approximately 9.9% of the total lip, oral cavity, and oropharyngeal SCCs reported over the last decade in Brazil may have been diagnosed at the OMPLs included in the current study. Abstract Objectives: evaluate the relationship between family’s food and nutrition insecurity (FNI) and the social network of malnourished children. Methods: cross-sectional study with 92 children, included in the economic class D-E. For the analysis of the children’s social network, the mothers answered four simple questions. To investigate the FNI, the Brazilian Scale of Food Insecurity was used. The association between variables was analyzed by Poisson regression with robust analysis of variances. Results: 56.5% of the children had a weak social network (<10 individuals), and the prevalence of FNI was 72.8%. An inverse association was observed between children of the daily social network and FNI family (OR=0.94; CI95%=0.89-0.99], p=0.03). The number of individuals in the children’s daily social network was negatively associated with the likelihood of FNI. The mother’s educational level was also related to FNI (OR=2.20 [CI95%=1.11-4.34]; p=0.02), being the child up to 2.2 times more likely to be in FNI when the mother has less than four years of study. Conclusion: these results suggest that social network is associated with the FNI of malnourished children. Interventions designed to strengthen instrumental and other forms of support among small social networks can improve the health/nutrition of malnourished children with FNI.

Resumo Objetivos: avaliar a relação entre a insegurança alimentar e nutricional (IAN) da família e a rede social de crianças desnutridas. Métodos: estudo transversal com 92 crianças, inseridas na classe econômica D-E. Para a análise da rede social das crianças, as mães responderam quatro perguntas simples. Para investigar a IAN foi utilizada a Escala Brasileira de Insegurança Alimentar. A associação entre as variáveis foi analisada por regressão de Poisson com análise robusta das variâncias. Resultados: 56,5% das crianças apresentaram rede social fraca (<10 indivíduos), e a prevalência de IAN foi de 72,8%. Foi observada uma associação inversa entre rede social diária das crianças e IAN da família (RP=0,94, [IC95%=0,89-0,99]; p=0,03). O número de indivíduos na rede social diária das crianças se associou negativamente com a probabilidade de IAN. O nível de escolaridade materno também estava relacionado com a IAN (RP=2,20 [IC95%=1,11-4,34]; p=0,02), tendo a criança até 2,2 vezes mais probabilidade de estar em IAN quando a mãe apresenta menos de quatro anos de estudo. Conclusão: esses resultados sugerem que a rede social está associada à IAN de crianças desnutridas. Intervenções destinadas a fortalecer maneiras instrumentais e outras formas de apoio entre pequenas redes sociais podem melhorar a saúde/nutrição de crianças desnutridas com IAN.

Resumo: Introdução: A vivência da maternidade para mulheres primíparas é um momento de passagem e diz respeito a mudanças físicas e emocionais. Essa experiência precisa ser acolhida pelas equipes de saúde desde a Atenção Primária até a média e alta complexidade. Sendo assim, no pré-natal de risco habitual, o enfermeiro generalista e o enfermeiro obstetra devem estar nas equipes de cuidados mantendo a qualidade da assistência ao pré- natal, parto e puerpério. A atenção a mulher de forma humanizada pode contribuir para a vivência de um puerpério mais satisfatório. Objetivos: reconhecer as percepções de puérperas nas ações de cuidado recebidas por enfermeiros em um Hospital de Ensino. Métodos: estudo qualitativo, exploratório, realizado em um Hospital de Ensino Federal, vinculado a uma Universidade Pública. Compôs o grupo desse estudo 13 mulheres primíparas, que pariram seus filhos através de parto normal ou de cirurgia cesariana no segundo semestre de 2021. Foi realizada entrevista por plataforma Google Meet entre o 30º e 45º dia de pós-parto com a seguinte indagação: Conte para mim o que representa ser mulher e puérpera pela primeira vez? A Análise foi realizada pelo software Iramuteq (Interface R pous les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaries - Versão alpha 2) Resultados: o corpus das entrevistas gerou 308 Unidades de Contexto Elementar (UCE). A Classificação Hierárquica Descendente (CHD) reteve 254 UCE, com aproveitamento de 82,47% e cinco classes, o léxico mais frequente foi enfermeiro (a), com frequência de 23 citações nos segmentos dos textos. Conclusões: Foi possível reconhecer o enfermeiro, como profissional promotor de práticas humanizadas na assistência ao parto, pelo relato das participantes do acolhimento recebido no momento do parto e puerpério imediato.

Abstract: Introduction: The experience of motherhood for primiparous women is a moment of passage and concerns physical and emotional changes. This experience needs to be welcomed by health teams from primary care to medium and high complexity. Therefore, in the usual risk prenatal care, the generalist nurse and the obstetrician nurse must be in the care teams, maintaining the quality of prenatal, childbirth and postpartum care. The attention to women in a humanized way can contribute to the experience of a more satisfactory postpartum period. Objectives: to recognize the perceptions of puerperal women in the care actions given by nurses in a School Hospital. Methods: qualitative, exploratory study, carried out in a Federal School Hospital, linked to a public university. The group in this study was composed of 13 primiparous women, who gave birth to their children through normal delivery or cesarean section in the second half of 2021. An interview was carried out using the Google Meet platform between the 30th and 45th day postpartum with the following question: What does it mean to me to be a woman and a puerperal for the first time? The analysis was performed using the Iramuteq software (Interface R pous les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires - Version 0.7 alpha 2) Results: the corpus of the 13 interviews generated 308 Elementary Context Units (ECU). The Descending Hierarchical Classification (CHD) retained 254 UCE, with an 82.47% success rate and five classes; the most frequent lexicon was nurse (a), with a frequency of 23 citations in the text segments. Conclusions: it was possible to recognize the nurse as a professional promoter of humanized practices in childbirth care, by the participants' reports about the reception received at the time of childbirth and the immediate postpartum period.

Abstract: This paper presents the first results of the archaeological investigations carried out in the interfluvium located between the middle courses of the Colorado and Negro rivers (Río Negro province, Argentina). This is an extensive arid plain with many temporary lagoons in which archaeological material is concentrated, mainly on the surface. Our analysis included distributional studies and, to a lesser extent, archaeological excavations, in order to understand the human strategies of space use and occupational intensity. The generated information is discussed in the light of archaeological expectations derived from the space use model proposed by Borrero and colleagues (2008). The results obtained indicate that the archaeological record located around these ephemeral lagoons is mainly the result of a planned and redundant use of space. Furthermore, some sectors of these lagoons were used more intensively and repeatedly, suggesting cases of specific redundancy. Although radiocarbon dates could not be obtained, the presence of pottery relates human occupations at least to the Late Holocene. The evidence discussed reveals the importance of this interfluvial space in the settlement and mobility strategies of the hunter-gatherer societies that inhabited two of the main northern Patagonian rivers.

Resumen: En este trabajo se presentan los resultados de las primeras investigaciones arqueológicas realizadas en el interfluvio ubicado entre los cursos medios de los ríos Colorado y Negro (Provincia de Río Negro, Argentina). En esta extensa planicie árida se encuentran lagunas temporarias en las que se concentra el material arqueológico, principalmente en superficie. Con el fin de comprender las estrategias humanas de uso del espacio y la intensidad de las ocupaciones se llevaron a cabo estudios distribucionales y, en menor medida, excavaciones arqueológicas. La información generada fue discutida a la luz de las expectativas arqueológicas derivadas del modelo de uso del espacio propuesto por Borrero y colaboradores (2008). Los resultados obtenidos indican que el registro arqueológico localizado en torno a estas lagunas efímeras es principalmente el efecto de un uso del espacio planificado y redundante. Asimismo, algunos sectores de estas lagunas fueron utilizados más intensa y repetidamente, sugiriendo casos de redundancia específica. Si bien no se cuenta con fechados radiocarbónicos, la presencia de cerámica permite vincular las ocupaciones humanas al menos al Holoceno Tardío. La evidencia discutida revela la importancia de este espacio interfluvial en los circuitos de asentamiento y movilidad de las sociedades cazadoras-recolectoras en torno a dos de los principales ríos norpatagónicos.

RESUMO Objetivo o diagnóstico da tuberculose pleural (TBpl) é um desafio devido à sua natureza paucibacilar e à necessidade de procedimentos invasivos. Este estudo visou identificar variáveis facilmente disponíveis, bem como construir um modelo preditivo para o diagnóstico da TBpl que possa permitir a utilização de uma estratégia alternativa precoce e acessível em unidades de cuidados básicos de saúde. Métodos um estudo transversal observacional comparou pacientes com TB e não TB seguidos em um hospital terciário brasileiro entre 2010 e 2018. Foi realizada uma análise de regressão logística incondicional que foi validado e aplicado em um modelo de classificação de árvore de decisão (CAD) em pacientes com diagnóstico empírico de TB. Foram calculados precisão (Prec), sensibilidade (Se), especificidade (Esp), assim como os valores preditivos positivos e negativos. Resultados de 1.135 pacientes com diagnóstico de TB, 160 foram considerados para análise (111 com TBpl confirmada e 49 com TBpl não confirmada. 58 pacientes não TB foram considerados como controles. Hiporexia [odds ratio ajustado (ORa) 27,39 (95% IC 6,26-119,89)] e características celulares/bioquímicas do líquido pleural (LP) (polimorfonuclear em duas categorias: 3%-14% ORa 26,22, 95% IC 7,11-96,68; e < 3% ORa 28,67, 95% IC 5,51-149,25; e proteína ≥ 5g/dL ORa 7,24, 95% IC 3,07-17,11) foram associadas a um risco mais elevado de tuberculose. O diagnóstico de CAD construído ao empregar essas variáveis mostrou valores de Prec = 87,6%, Se = 89,2%, Esp = 84,5% para o diagnóstico de TB e foi aplicado com sucesso em doentes com TB não confirmada. Conclusão o modelo CAD mostrou um excelente desempenho para o diagnóstico de TB e pode ser considerado como estratégia alternativa de diagnóstico, utilizando padrões clínicos em associação com características celulares/bioquímicas do LP, que são acessíveis e facilmente realizados em unidades de cuidados básicos de saúde.

ABSTRACT Objectives Pleural tuberculosis (PlTB) diagnosis is a challenge due to its paucibacillary nature and to the need of invasive procedures. This study aimed to identify easily available variables and build a predictive model for PlTB diagnosis which may allow earlier and affordable alternative strategy to be used in basic health care units. Methods An observational cross-sectional study compared PlTB and non-TB patients followed at a tertiary Brazilian hospital between 2010 and 2018. Unconditional logistic regression analysis was performed and a Decision Tree Classifier (DTC) model was validated and applied in additional PlTB patients with empiric diagnosis. The accuracy (Acc), sensitivity (Se), specificity (Sp), positive and negative predictive values were calculated. Results From 1,135 TB patients, 160 were considered for analysis (111 confirmed PlTB and 49 unconfirmed PlTB). Indeed, 58 non-TB patients were enrolled as controls. Hyporexia [adjusted odds ratio (aOR) 27.39 (95% CI 6.26 – 119.89)] and cellular/biochemical characteristics on pleural fluid (PF) (polimorphonuclear in two categories: 3-14% aOR 26.22, 95% CI 7.11 – 96.68 and < 3% aOR 28.67, 95% CI 5.51 – 149.25; and protein ≥ 5g/dL aOR 7.24, 95% CI 3.07 – 17.11) were associated with higher risk for TB. The DTC constructed using these variables showed Acc=87.6%, Se=89.2%, Sp=84.5% for PlTB diagnosis and was successfully applied in unconfirmed PlTB patients. Conclusion The DTC model showed an excellent performance for PlTB diagnosis and can be considered as an alternative diagnostic strategy by using clinical patterns in association with PF cellular/biochemical characteristics, which were affordable and easily performed in basic health care units.

RESUMO Objetivo: apresentar a percepção das mulheres hospitalizadas em uma maternidade em relação aos cuidados de enfermagem recebidos, tendo como respaldo referencial teórico Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare, de Laurie Gottlieb. Método: estudo exploratório de abordagem qualitativa. Foram entrevistadas 20 puérperas hospitalizadas no período de novembro a dezembro de 2019, em uma maternidade de risco habitual em Curitiba-PR, Brasil. Os dados foram transcritos e categorizados, utilizando software MaxQDA®2020, sendo realizada a análise de conteúdo, segundo os passos de Creswell. Resultados: foram estabelecidas duas categorias: “ausência de elementos do referencial teórico”; e “presença de elementos do referencial teórico”. Conclusão: o referencial teórico foi percebido pelas mulheres nos cuidados recebidos; estas se beneficiaram com este modelo, compreendendo o seu papel ativo no processo de parturição. Desenvolver este referencial teórico nas maternidades de risco habitual e em outras realidades assistenciais é uma janela de oportunidades para o desenvolvimento do trabalho dos enfermeiros.

ABSTRACT Objective: to present the perception of women hospitalized in a maternity hospital regarding the nursing care received, with the theoretical reference Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare, by Laurie Gottlieb. Method: exploratory study with a qualitative approach. Twenty puerperal women hospitalized in the period from November to December 2019, in a usual risk maternity hospital in Curitiba-PR, Brazil, were interviewed. Data were transcribed and categorized, using MaxQDA®2020 software, and content analysis was performed, according to Creswell’s steps. Results: two categories were established: “absence of elements of the theoretical framework”; and “presence of elements of the theoretical framework”. Conclusion: the theoretical framework was perceived by women in the care they received; they benefited from this model, understanding their active role in the delivery process. Developing this theoretical framework in usual-risk maternity hospitals and in other care realities is a window of opportunity for the development of nurses’ work.

RESUMEN Objetivo: presentar la percepción de las mujeres hospitalizadas en una maternidad sobre los cuidados de enfermería recibidos, con la referencia teórica Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare, de Laurie Gottlieb. Método: estudio exploratorio de enfoque cualitativo. Fueron entrevistadas 20 puérperas hospitalizadas en el período de noviembre a diciembre de 2019, en una maternidad de riesgo habitual en Curitiba-PR, Brasil. Los datos se transcribieron y categorizaron, utilizando el software MaxQDA®2020, y se realizó un análisis de contenido, según los pasos de Creswell. Resultados: se establecieron dos categorías: “ausencia de elementos del marco teórico”; y “presencia de elementos del marco teórico”. Conclusión: el marco teórico fue percibido por las mujeres en la atención recibida; ellas se beneficiaron de este modelo, comprendiendo su papel activo en el proceso de parto. El desarrollo de este marco teórico en las maternidades de riesgo habitual y en otras realidades asistenciales es una ventana de oportunidad para el desarrollo del trabajo de las enfermeras.

Abstract Objective: To describe the prevalence of heavy episodic drinking in the Brazilian adult population, according to sociodemographic characteristics, in 2013 and in 2019. Methods: A cross-sectional study using data on heavy episodic drinking among adults (≥ 18 years) from the National Health Survey, analyzed descriptively. Results: 60,202 participants were included in 2013 and 88,531 in 2019. The prevalence of heavy episodic drinking, in 2019 (17.1%; 95%CI 16.6;17.5), was higher than 2013 (13.1%; 95%CI 13.1;14.2). In the two years, there was a higher prevalence among male sex, adults 18 to 39 years old, individuals with high schooling and Black skin color. In addition, higher prevalence were found among residents in urban areas and in the Midwest and Southeast regions. Conclusion: The indication of the growing prevalence of alcohol abuse in Brazil and the differences in prevalence, according to sociodemographic characteristics, show the need to encourage public policies and actions to combat its use.

Resumo Objetivo: Descrever a prevalência do consumo abusivo de bebidas alcoólicas na população adulta brasileira, segundo características sociodemográficas, em 2013 e 2019. Métodos: Estudo transversal, utilizando dados do consumo abusivo de álcool entre adultos (≥ 18 anos) da Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde, analisados descritivamente. Resultados: Foram incluídos 60.202 participantes em 2013 e 88.531 em 2019. A prevalência de consumo abusivo de bebidas alcoólicas, em 2019 (17,1%; IC95% 16,6;17,5), foi superior a 2013 (13,1%; IC95% 13,1;14,2). Nos dois anos, verificaram-se maiores prevalências entre o sexo masculino, os adultos de 18 a 39 anos, indivíduos com alta escolaridade, residentes em áreas urbanas e nas regiões Centro-Oeste e Sudeste e de raça/cor da pele preta. Conclusão: O indicativo da crescente prevalência do consumo abusivo de bebidas alcoólicas no Brasil e as diferenças nas prevalências, segundo características sociodemográficas, evidenciam a necessidade de incentivo a políticas públicas e ações de enfrentamento ao seu uso.

Resumen Objetivo: Describir la prevalencia del consumo excesivo de alcohol en la población adulta brasileña, según características sociodemográficas, en 2013 y en 2019. Métodos: Estudio transversal utilizando datos sobre abuso de alcohol en adultos (≥ 18 años) de la Encuesta Nacional de Salud, analizados de forma descriptiva. Resultados: Se incluyeron 60,202 participantes en 2013 y 88.531 en 2019. La prevalencia del consumo excesivo de alcohol, en 2019 (17,1%; IC95% 16,6;17,5), fue mayor que en 2013 (13,1%; IC95% 13,1;14,2). En los dos años, hubo mayor prevalencia entre lo sexo masculino, adultos de 18 y 39 años, personas con estudios secundarios y de piel negra. Además, se encontraron prevalencias más altas entre los residentes en áreas urbanas y en las regiones del Medio Oeste y Sudeste. Conclusión: El indicio de la creciente prevalencia del abuso de alcohol en Brasil y las diferencias, según características sociodemográficas, muestran la necesidad de impulsar políticas públicas y acciones para combatir su uso.
