RESUMO Este estudo objetivou descrever as condições de trabalho e saúde dos professores de educação física da educação básica pública do estado de Minas Gerais - Brasil durante a pandemia da COVID-19. Estudo transversal, realizado de agosto a setembro de 2020, via formulário digital e contou com o apoio da Secretaria de Estado de Educação de Minas Gerais. O instrumento apresentou variáveis referentes ao perfil sociodemográfico, condições de trabalho e saúde durante a pandemia. Foram apresentadas as prevalências das variáveis. Participaram do estudo 1.016 professores de educação física. Destes, 61,4% eram mulheres, 65,8% com idade de 21 a 40 anos e 15,3% trabalhavam na zona rural. Em relação às condições de trabalho durante a pandemia, 99% realizaram atividades remotas, 35,7% estavam insatisfeitos com o trabalho, 37% trabalharam muito mais que costumavam e 81,2% apresentaram como dificuldade o interesse dos alunos/pais pelas aulas. Quanto às condições de saúde durante a pandemia, 10,3% aumentaram o consumo de bebidas alcóolicas, 26,1% não praticaram exercício físico, 56,5% tiveram aumento de peso corporal e 37,8% relataram muito medo da COVID-19. Os professores de educação física da educação básica do estado de Minas Gerais foram significativamente afetados pela pandemia, portanto é importante implementação de estratégias de apoio.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to describe the working and health conditions of physical education teachers in public basic education in the state of Minas Gerais - Brazil during the COVID-19 pandemic. Cross-sectional study, carried out from August to September 2020, via digital form and had the support of the Minas Gerais State Department of Education. The instrument presented variables related to the sociodemographic profile, work and health conditions during the pandemic. The prevalences of the variables were presented. 1,016 physical education teachers participated in the study. Of these, 61.4% were female, 65.8% aged 21 to 40 years and 15.3% worked in the countryside. In relation to working conditions during the pandemic, 99% performed remote activities, 35.7% were dissatisfied with their work, 37% worked much more than they used to and 81.2% presented the interest of students/parents in classes as a difficulty. As for health conditions during the pandemic, 10.3% increased their consumption of alcoholic beverages, 26.1% did not practice physical exercise, 56.5% had increased body weight and 37.8% reported a lot of fear of COVID-19. Physical education teachers of basic education in the state of Minas Gerais were significantly affected by the pandemic, so it is important to implement support strategies.

RESUMO O ácido indol-3-acético (AIA) é um fitohormônio produzido por muitas espécies de rizobactérias para mediar a colonização de plantas enquanto promove o seu crescimento. O ensaio colorimétrico é amplamente utilizado para analisar a biossíntese de AIA bacteriano por ser uma técnica simples, econômica e rápida. No entanto, a caracterização de partes ou frações de formulações de inoculantes raramente é realizada. Objetivou-se determinar a fração do inoculante que é eficaz em promover o crescimento da planta, se o crescimento de bactérias ou meios pode induzir os fitohormônioss a expandirem a zona radicular da planta e se a bacterização de sementes ou a aplicação foliar pode alterar o crescimento das plantas. As amostras de inóculo (caseiro e comercial) foram obtidas em meio de crescimento Luria-Bertani com e sem triptofano-L e os inoculantes divididos em duas frações: pellet e sobrenadante. Para a quantificação do AIA, a fração pellet foi submetida a tratamento físico (sonicação) e químico (lisozima) isoladamente e combinados. Os níveis de AIA foram avaliados por ensaio colorimétrico e o efeito sobre o crescimento das plantas determinado pela inoculação de plântulas de milho. As formulações caseira e comercial apresentaram padrões distintos, em termos de síntese de AIA. A fração sobrenadante forneceu maiores quantidades de AIA e foi eficaz em melhorar a área radicular. A lisozima foi superior à sonicação na otimização da liberação de AIA de células bacterianas. Não foram observadas diferenças significativas entre inoculação por sementes ou foliar.

ABSTRACT Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) is a phytohormone produced by many rhizobacterial species to mediate plant colonization while promoting plant growth. The colorimetric assay is widely used to analyze the bacterial IAA biosynthesis because it is a straightforward, cost-effective and fast technique. However, the characterization of parts or fractions of inoculant formulations is rarely performed. This study aimed to determine the fraction of the inoculant that is effective in promoting the plant growth, whether the bacteria or media growth can induce the phytohormones to expand the radicular zone of the plant, and whether the seed bacterization or foliar application can alter the plant growth. The inoculum samples (homemade and commercial) were obtained in a Luria-Bertani growth medium with and without tryptophan-L and the inoculants were divided into two fractions: pellet and supernatant. For the IAA quantification, the pellet fraction was subjected to physical (sonication) and chemical (lysozyme) treatments alone and combined. The IAA levels were evaluated using the colorimetric assay, and the effect on plant growth was determined by the inoculation of maize seedlings. The homemade and commercial formulations showed distinct patterns, in terms of IAA synthesis. The supernatant fraction provided higher amounts of IAA and was effective in improving the root area. Lysozyme was superior to sonication in mediating the release of IAA from bacterial cells. No significant differences were observed between seed or foliar inoculation.

Resumo O objetivo do estudo foi verificar a prevalência e os fatores associados ao transporte ativo para o trabalho entre professores da educação básica pública do estado de Minas Gerais. Foi realizado inquérito epidemiológico do tipo websurvey com professores da rede pública estadual de educação básica de Minas Gerais e a coleta ocorreu de agosto a setembro de 2020 via formulário digital. A variável dependente foi o transporte ativo para o trabalho e foi utilizada a Regressão de Poisson bruta e ajustada. Participaram do estudo 15.641 professores. Desses, 26,1% faziam transporte ativo para o trabalho. Houve maior prevalência entre as mulheres (RP=1,08; IC95% 1,01; 1,17), aqueles com idade de 41 a 59 anos (RP=1,20; IC95% 1,12;1,28), da área urbana (RP=1,51; IC95% 1,37;1,66), com menor renda familiar (RP=1,75; IC95% 1,48;1,93), os com tempo de trabalho superior a 20 anos (RP=1,27; IC95% 1,19;1,35), que trabalham na docência em até 39 horas semanais (RP=1,15; IC95% 1,06;1,25), com peso eutrófico (RP=1,09; IC95% 1,02;1,17) e aqueles que praticavam atividade física 5 vezes ou mais por semana (RP=1,25; IC95% 1,15;1,36). Os resultados evidenciaram que há prevalência significativa de professores que não realizam o transporte ativo para o trabalho. A maior prevalência de transporte ativo para o trabalho teve associação significativa com diversas variáveis, dentre os quais se destacam área censitária e renda familiar. Incentivos são necessários para promover o transporte ativo entre professores.

Abstract - The aim of the study was to verify the prevalence and factors associated with active transport to work among public basic education teachers in the state of Minas Gerais. An epidemiological survey of the websurvey type was carried out with teachers from the state public system of basic education in Minas Gerais. The collection took place from August to September 2020 via digital form. The dependent variable was active transport to work and the crude; and adjusted Poisson Regression was used. 15,641 teachers participated in the study, of which, 26.1% were actively commuting to work. There was a higher prevalence among women (PR=1.08; 95%CI 1.01; 1.17), aged 41 to 59 years (PR=1.20; 95%CI 1.12;1.28), from the urban area (PR=1.51; 95%CI 1.37;1.66), with lower family income (PR=1.75; 95%CI 1.48;1.93), those with working time higher than 20 years (PR=1.27; 95%CI 1.19;1.35), who work as teachers for up to 39 hours per week (PR=1.15; 95%CI 1.06;1.25), with eutrophic weight (PR=1.09; 95%CI 1.02;1.17) and those who practiced physical activity 5 times or more a week (PR=1.25; 95%CI 1.15;1.36). The results showed that there is a significant prevalence of teachers who do not carry out active transport to work. The highest prevalence of active transport to work was significantly associated with several variables, among which the census area and family income. Incentives are needed to promote active transportation among teachers.

Abstract Plant growth-promoting bacteria are ecological alternatives for fertilization, mainly for gramineous. Since plant x bacteria interaction is genotype and strain dependent, searching for new strains may contribute to the development of new biofertilizers. We aim to characterize plant growth-promoting capacity of Leclercia adecarboxylata strain Palotina, formerly isolated by our group in corn. A single isolated colony was taken and its genome was sequenced using Illumina technology. The whole genome was compared to other Leclercia adecarboxylata strains, and their biological and growth-promoting traits, such as P solubilization and auxin production, were tested. Following that, a 4.8 Mb genome of L. adecarboxylata strain Palotina was assembled and the functional annotation was carried out. This paper is the first to report the genes associated with plant growth promotion demonstrating in vitro indole acid production by this strain. These results project the endophyte as a potential biofertilizer for further commercial exploitation.

Resumo Objetivo: Descrever aspectos genéticos e características de envelhecimento precoce na síndrome de Down. Método: Estudo descritivo transversal de 28 indivíduos com síndrome de Down, entre 20 e 54 anos de idade (13 mulheres e 15 homens), atendidos em programa universitário de genética comunitária por solicitação de instituições filantrópicas especializadas, que oferecem apoio a pessoas com deficiência e suas famílias. Os dados genéticos e funcionais foram registrados em ficha de anamnese. Resultados: A análise cariotípica mostrou trissomia 21 livre, com apenas um caso hereditário de translocação entre os cromossomos 15/21. Constataram-se dificuldades funcionais na locomoção, sedentarismo, desordens de conduta, perda de memória e depressão, assim como a perda de autonomia em idades mais avançadas. Apenas três pessoas tinham domínio da leitura e escrita e 16 apresentavam bom relacionamento social e habilidades de fazer amigos. Conclusão: O estudo realizado confirma que sinais de envelhecimento precoce na síndrome de Down podem ser verificados já na fase adulta, sendo recomendado o acompanhamento terapêutico com implantação de medidas de prevenção aos déficits, estimulo à cognição e atividades voltadas à qualidade de vida.

Abstract Objective: To describe genetic aspects and characteristics associated with premature aging in adults with Down syndrome. Method: A cross-sectional study was carried out of 28 individuals with Down syndrome, aged between 20 and 54 years old (13 women and 15 men), in a university community genetics program, who were referred by philanthropic institutions which offers support to people with disabilities and their families. The genetic and functional data were recorded in anamnesis forms. Results: Karyotype analysis revealed free trisomy 21, with only one hereditary case of translocation between chromosomes 15/21. In the sample group, functional difficulties were observed in locomotion, sedentary lifestyles, behavior disorders, memory loss and depression symptoms, as well as loss of autonomy at more advanced ages. Only three people had reading and writing skills and 16 had good social relationships and friend-making skills. Conclusion: The study confirms that premature aging in Down syndrome starts in adulthood, and therapeutic follow-up is recommended with the implementation of interventions to prevent deficits and stimulate cognition, and activities for quality of life.
