RESUMEN Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación empírica cuyo objetivo fue identificar factores críticos que contribuyeron para la culminación exitosa de los itinerarios formativos de un grupo de graduados de Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos Integrada con la Formación Profesional en el nivel secundario brasileño. Se aplicó un análisis de contenido a los datos obtenidos a través de entrevistas semidirigidas a diez graduados. Exploramos la noción de posicionamiento, como fenómeno social que circunscribe la posición que ocupa un individuo o grupo en un sistema social determinado (Bernstein, 1996) en línea con las disposiciones socioafectivas y cognitivas relacionadas con los procesos de placer/displacer presentes en el contexto escolar y con las representaciones y concepciones de los contenidos, respectivamente (Bourgeois, 1999). Los resultados apuntan a la elevación del posicionamiento en estructuras jerárquicas circunscritas por la escolaridad, el aprendizaje, el conocimiento, las relaciones sociocognitivas y la perspectiva profesional, que se correlacionan con el desarrollo de disposiciones socioafectivas y cognitivas en las dimensiones motivaciones, aspiraciones, valores apropiados y características curriculares, concretamente aprendizaje colaborativo y metodología de enseñanza.

RESUMO Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa empírica cujo objetivo foi identificar fatores críticos que contribuíram para o sucesso na conclusão dos percursos formativos de um grupo de egressos da Educação de Jovens e Adultos Integrada à Formação Profissional no nível secundário brasileiro. Foi aplicada a análise de conteúdo dos dados obtidos através de entrevistas semi-dirigidas com dez egressos. Exploramos a noção de posicionamento, enquanto fenômeno social que circunscreve a posição que um indivíduo ou grupo ocupa num dado sistema social (Bernstein, 1996) em consonância com as disposições socioafetivas e cognitivas relacionadas com os processos de prazer/desprazer presentes no contexto escolar e com as representações e conceções do conteúdo, respetivamente (Bourgeois, 1999). Os resultados apontam para a elevação do posicionamento em estruturas hierárquicas circunscritas pela escolaridade, aprendizagem, conhecimento, relações sociocognitivas e perspectiva profissional, as quais estão correlacionadas com o desenvolvimento de disposições socioafetivas e cognitivas nas dimensões motivações, aspirações, valores adequados e características curriculares, nomeadamente aprendizagem colaborativas e metodologia de ensino.

Abstract This article presents the results of an empirical study whose aim was to identify critical factors that contributed to the successful completion of the educational trajectories of a group of former students of a Brazilian secondary level course integrating Youth and Adult Education with Vocational Education. Content analysis was applied to the data obtained through semi-directive interviews with ten former students. We explored the notion of positioning, as a social phenomenon that circumscribes the position that an individual or group occupies in a given social system (Bernstein, 1996) in line with the socio-affective and cognitive dispositions related to the processes of pleasure/displeasure present in the school context and with the representations and conceptions of the content, respectively (Bourgeois, 1999). The results point to higher positioning in hierarchical structures circumscribed by schooling, learning, knowledge, socio-cognitive relations, and professional outlook, which are correlated with the development of socio-affective and cognitive dispositions in the dimensions of motivations, aspirations, appropriate values and curricular characteristics, namely collaborative learning, and teaching methodology.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE To describe the methodological challenges and strategies of a web survey on the working conditions and health among delivery workers. METHODS The study population consisted of Brazilian delivery workers operating in the national territory. Procedures include building solid and ongoing collaboration with worker representatives and conducting a four-month data collection from February to May 2022, sharing the link to the online questionnaire on social media such as social networks (Facebook, Instagram) and messaging apps (WhatsApp, Telegram). RESULTS The recruitment of 41 leaders or influencers of delivery workers increased the dissemination of the study, some of whom participated in the consensual validation of the questionnaire; the production of content for social media for the dissemination of the questionnaire link on social networks and applications, and the in-person dissemination of the study at the delivery workers’ meeting points during the workday played a fundamental role, totaling around 132 hours in 45 shifts. The strategies adopted for data collection with a hybrid approach to dissemination made it possible to carry out the web survey. After four months of the web survey, 564 delivery workers, 543 men and 18 women, responded to the online questionnaire. CONCLUSION The web survey presented methodological strategies to overcome the challenge of reaching workers, including hybrid work, to increase the participation of workers, on whom epidemiological research is still scarce.

Abstract Large quantities of residual cooking oil are being increasingly generated in various sectors, as it is often improperly disposed of and causes serious environmental problems. A commonly used alternative is the use of lipases in enzymatic hydrolysis, since it is rather attractive to several sectors, in addition to allowing the use of products generated thereof, such as: free fatty acids, diacylglycerols, monoacylglycerols and free glycerol, moreover, it is capable of operating in mild temperature and pressure conditions. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate alternatives for the hydrolysis of residual frying oil by evaluating the efficiency of different types of supports and heating systems using free and immobilized forms of lipase from Burkholderia cepacia (BCL) and Porcine pancreas (PPL) as biocatalyst. Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), niobium oxide (Nb2O5) and chitosan (CHIT) were evaluated as support for immobilizing BCL and PPL lipases, and superior results were found regarding the hydrolytic activity of immobilization derivatives using PHB and Nb2O5. Among the heating systems under evaluation, the highest percentage of residual oil hydrolysis was found using the ultrasound system for both free and immobilized lipases, reaching 57.91% hydrolysis for lipases immobilized on Nb2O5 and 61.11% hydrolysis for the derivative immobilized on PHB. The operational stability of both biocatalysts was evaluated using similar half-life time values for both. Abstract Drought is a natural phenomenon that cause severely impacts on different sectors of society. To assess drought, indices are used that allow comparing events in different regions and time scales. SPEIbase is a gridded database that provides global-scale SPEI estimates with an extensive temporal coverage (1901 to 2022), 0.5° x 0.5° spatial resolution, and is currently being updated. This study aimed to evaluate SPEIbase v2.9 in representing the spatio-temporal patterns of drought in the Southeastern Brazil Region. For this, SPEIbase values were compared to values calculated from data from eight conventional meteorological stations (CMS), for the period from 1961 to 2010. SPEIbase showed satisfactory results for the Southeastern Brazil Region. The gridded data presented a positive linear trend for all eight CMS in the study, with a strong correlation (0.70 < r < 0.90) for more than 50% of the stations. Additionally, SPEIbase performed satisfactorily in identifying the frequency and intensity of droughts. Resumo A seca é um fenômeno natural, que causa impactos severos em diferentes setores da sociedade. Para avaliar a seca, são utilizados índices que permitem comparar eventos em diferentes regiões e escalas temporais. O SPEIbase é uma base de dados em grade que fornece estimativas do SPEI em escala global, com ampla abrangência temporal (1901 a 2022), resolução espacial de 0,5° x 0,5° e segue em processo de atualização. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o SPEIbase v2.9 na representação dos padrões espaço-temporal da seca na Região Sudeste Brasileira. Para isso, foram comparados os valores da SPEIbase via dados de oito estações meteorológicas convencionais (EMC), para o período de 1961 a 2010. A SPEIbase apresentou resultados satisfatórios para a Região Sudeste Brasileira. Os dados em grade apresentaram tendência linear positiva para todas as oito EMC, com correlação forte (0,70 < r < 0,90) para mais de 50% das estações. ABSTRACT Objective Currently programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors in combination with other therapies are being evaluated to determine their efficacy in cancer treatment. However, the effect of PD-ligand (L) 1 expression on disease outcomes in stage III (EC III) non-small cell lung cancer is not completely understood. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the influence of PD-L1 expression on the outcomes of EC III non-small cell lung cancer. Methods This study was conducted on patients diagnosed with EC III non-small cell lung cancer who underwent treatment at a tertiary care hospital. PD-L1 expression was determined using immunohistochemical staining, all patients expressed PD-L1. Survival was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method. Relationships between variables were assessed using Cox proportional regression models. Results A total of 49 patients (median age=69 years) with EC III non-small cell lung cancer and PD-L1 expression were evaluated. More than half of the patients were men, and most were regular smokers. The patients were treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, surgery, or sequential or combined chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The median progression-free survival of the entire cohort was 14.2 months, and the median overall survival was 20 months. There was no significant association between PD-L1 expression and disease progression, clinical characteristics, or overall survival. Conclusions PD-L1 expression was not correlated with EC III non-small cell lung cancer outcomes. The purpose of this study was to establish a multivariate model using two complementary multivariate statistical techniques: Factor Analysis and Stepwise Multiple Regression, to predict tissue composition through carcass characteristics of Santa Inês sheep. The data was obtained from 82 Santa Inês sheep under confinement. The predictor variables were carcass characteristics related to weight, yield, morphometric measures and meat cuts. The use of latent variables from factor analysis in multiple regression models eliminates the problem of multicollinearity of the explanatory variables, improving the accuracy of interpretation of results by proposing a better fit of the mathematical model. ABSTRACT This study used a pedigree analysis to monitor trends in the genetic structure of the Mangalarga breed and identify factors that could impact its genetic variability. For this, genealogical information was used from the Associação Brasileira dos Criadores de Cavalo da Raça Mangalarga, considering as total population (TP) the animals born between 1919 and 2018 (n = 206,426) and as reference population (RP) those born between 2009 and 2018 (n = 20,539), which is the most recent generation according to the average generation interval calculated for the breed of 9.37 years. We evaluated the number of male and female births per year, foals produced by Mangalarga breeding animals, using the ENDOG 4.8, generation interval, proportion of known ancestors per parental generation, number of equivalent generations known per animal, inbreeding coefficient, increase in inbreeding, average relatedness (AR), effective population size, effective number of founders, effective number of ancestors, and founder genome equivalent. The number of equivalent generations known per animal increased over time, reaching an average of 2.75 in TP and 4.88 in RP. The calculated F was 2.26% for TP and 5.57% for RP, while AR was 2.41% for TP and 4.10% for RP. The effective population size was 40.85 for TP and 38.89 for RP. The 206,426 registered Mangalarga horses (TP) were derived from the genetic contribution of 9,011 founders and 8,908 ancestors, whereas those registered in or after 2009 (RP) originated from 2,662 founders and 2,193 ancestors. Resumo O objetivo deste artigo é analisar as estratégias de enfrentamento da COVID-19 adotadas por gestores municipais de saúde em duas regiões. Estudo de método misto do tipo explanatório sequencial, realizado com gestores municipais de saúde e coordenadores da atenção primária. A etapa quantitativa foi desenvolvida com a aplicação de instrumento a 42 gestores, para identificação de ações de enfrentamento e associação com dados demográficos e epidemiológicos da COVID-19 nos municípios. Os resultados direcionaram à definição de 15 participantes e à coleta de dados na etapa qualitativa, possibilitando aproximação das metainferências do estudo. Das ações implantadas, foram unânimes as ações de monitoramento dos casos, organização de novos fluxos de atendimento e estímulo à adoção de medidas não farmacológicas pela população. A articulação regional foi o dispositivo que permitiu ampliação e autonomia municipal para a testagem, com redução de contaminação e óbitos nos munícipes. As estratégias municipais de enfrentamento que tiveram foco na vigilância dos casos e na ampliação da testagem apresentaram desfechos positivos no que se refere a número de óbitos por COVID-19.

The worldwide emergence of viral diseases such as Zika, Dengue, Chikungunya, West Nile and Yellow Fever urge the search for solutions to eliminate their common vector, the Aedes aegypti mosquito. This paper describes the quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) and docking studies of a series of nine 3-(3-aryl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl)propionic acids (AOPA), 1-9, previously published by our group. Additionally, three new 1,2,4-oxadiazoles, 10-12, have also been synthesized, characterized and studied. The QSAR and docking studies of all compounds, 1-12, clearly indicate that larger hydrophobic substituents such as biphenyl groups attached on position 3 in 1,2,4-oxadiazoles improve the larvicidal activity. RESUMO Objetivos: analisar os fatores associados aos sintomas psicopatológicos entre enfermeiros de um hospital universitário. Métodos: estudo transversal, desenvolvido em um hospital universitário de Pernambuco, em que participaram 90 enfermeiros. Foi utilizado um questionário com características sociais e profissiográficas e a Escala de Avaliação de Sintomas. Resultados: foi constatada a associação entre a variável mudar de profissão e a presença de sintomas característicos de psicoticismo, somatização e ansiedade entre os enfermeiros. Conclusões: o surgimento de sintomas psicopatológicos tem influenciado no desejo de enfermeiros na busca por outra profissão. Essa evidência reforça a necessidade de maiores investimentos em melhores condições de trabalho e ações de acolhimento no ambiente laboral, a fim de proporcionar uma melhor qualidade de vida profissional e favorecer a promoção a saúde desses trabalhadores.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze the factors associated with psychopathological symptoms among nurses at a university hospital. Methods: a cross-sectional study developed at a university hospital in Pernambuco, in which 90 nurses participated. A questionnaire with social and professional characteristics and the Symptom Assessment Scale were used. Results: an association was found between the variable changing profession and the presence of characteristic symptoms of psychoticism, somatization and anxiety among nurses. Conclusions: the emergence of psychopathological symptoms has influenced nurses’ desire to search for another profession. This evidence reinforces the need for greater investments in better working conditions and welcoming actions in the work environment, in order to provide a better quality of professional life and promote the health of these workers.

RESUMEN Objetivos: analizar los factores asociados a síntomas psicopatológicos en enfermeros de un hospital universitario. Métodos: estudio transversal, desarrollado en un hospital universitario de Pernambuco, en el que participaron 90 enfermeros. Se utilizó un cuestionario con características socioprofesionales y la Escala de Evaluación de Síntomas. Resultados: se encontró asociación entre la variable cambio de profesión y la presencia de síntomas característicos de psicoticismo, somatización y ansiedad entre los enfermeros. Conclusiones: la aparición de síntomas psicopatológicos ha influido en el deseo de los enfermeros de buscar otra profesión. Esta evidencia refuerza la necesidad de mayores inversiones en mejores condiciones de trabajo y acciones de acogida en el ambiente de trabajo, con el fin de proporcionar una mejor calidad de vida profesional y promover la salud de estos trabajadores.
