Resumen Introducción: La reintroducción es un procedimiento utilizado para restablecer las poblaciones de animales silvestres. Objetivo: Evaluar el éxito de la reintroducción de Amazona aestiva e investigar si los factores abióticos (temperatura, humedad y luminosidad) interfieren en la búsqueda de la complementación alimenticia en los comederos instalados en el área de liberación. Métodos: Se iniciaron evaluaciones previas a la liberación con 59 Amazonas spp. Se realizaron pruebas de parasitología en heces, leucocitos, capacidad de vuelo y nivel de interacción animal-humano. En total, 33 animales fueron seleccionados y enviados al área de liberación, que es una región de ecotono entre los biomas de la Mata Atlántica y la Caatinga. Después de la liberación, se monitorearon durante un año las visitas a los comederos y la supervivencia en el área. En estos períodos también se registraron factores abióticos. Resultados: Las pruebas parasitológicas de huevos y parásitos en heces revelaron la presencia de Heterakis spp. y Eimeira spp. Los parámetros leucocitarios estuvieron dentro de los valores de referencia para la especie. Al menos el 50 % de los animales liberados sobrevivieron después de un año, con registros de eventos reproductivos. Los factores abióticos no interfirieron con las visitas de los animales al comedero. Sin embargo, la variable humedad explicó mejor las visitas por la mañana, mientras que las variables temperatura y luminosidad influyeron en la mayoría de las visitas por la tarde. Conclusión: La reintroducción está en el umbral de ser clasificada como exitosa. Los comederos y nidos artificiales instalados provocaron que los animales permanecieran en el área para ser monitoreados. Los factores abióticos pueden influir en la toma de decisiones de comportamiento diario relacionadas con el uso de alimentación complementaria en loros reintroducidos.

Abstract Introduction: Reintroduction is a procedure used to reestablish wild animal populations. Objective: To evaluate the success of reintroducing Amazona aestiva and investigate whether abiotic factors (temperature, humidity, and luminosity) interfere with the search for food supplementation in feeders installed in the release area. Methods: Pre-release evaluations were initiated with 59 Amazonas spp. Tests were run to stool parasitological tests, leukocytes, flight capacity, and level of animal-human interaction. In all, 33 animals were selected and sent to the release area, which is an ecotone between the Atlantic Forest and the Caatinga biomes. After release, visits to the feeders and survival in the area were monitored for a year. Abiotic factors were also recorded in these periods. Results: The stool parasitological tests revealed the presence of Heterakis spp. and Eimeira spp. The leukocyte parameters were within the reference values for the species. At least 50 % of the released animals survived after one year, with recordings of reproductive events. Abiotic factors did not interfere with the animal visits to the feeder. However, the variable humidity best explained visits in the morning, while the variables temperature and luminosity most influenced visits in the afternoon. Conclusion: The reintroduction observed and presented here is on the threshold of being classified as successful. The installed feeders and artificial nests caused the animals to stay in the area for monitoring. Abiotic factors may influence daily behavioral decision-making related to the use of supplementary feeding in reintroduced parrots.

ABSTRACT Tomatoes are a highlight in the organic vegetables production, but in order to cultivate them, there is a lack of information on cultivars adapted to the organic system. The objective of this study was to evaluate the productive performance and to characterize the quality attributed to tomato fruits under the organic production system. The experiment was conducted in field, on an agroecological farm , in the municipality of Verê, Paraná State - Brazil. The experiment consisted on fourteen tomato cultivars, under a randomized complete block design, with four replications. The evaluated traits were the total and commercial fruit production, total and commercial number of fruits, mass and average diameter of commercial fruits and physicochemical quality traits (firmness, pH, color (L*, C and h°), soluble solids (SS), titratable acidity (TA), and the ratio of SS/TA). Considering together production traits and fruit quality aspects, the cultivars Netuno, Aguamiel, and Cordilheira can be considered the best choices, having potential to be recommended for organic production system.

Abstract The physical and environmental conditions of educational institutions are determining factors for occupant comfort. The Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE) presents itself as a methodology for verifying environmental aspects in full use, considering the technical criteria and the users' perception. This article discusses the particularities of the ETS-UESC building, in Brazil, applying POE with an emphasis on the environmental comfort of the classrooms. For this, an exploratory research was carried out where the users' perception of ambience was verified, through the application of targeted forms and on-site measurements of the thermal and lighting conditions using a thermohygrometer and a lux meter, and natural ventilation conditions by design analysis, in the light of current regulations. The opinions were compared with the environmental measurements to identify the limitations of the building and to find the dissonant points. About 85% of users are bothered by the thermal conditions where they are exposed to high daily temperatures, above 30 ºC. In spring and summer, room temperatures are above those recommended by NR 17 standard. The quality of natural lighting is questioned by approximately 80% of users, even having illuminance above the recommended limit of 300 lux in the daytime cycle. How thermal and lighting conditions restrict the use of spaces was proven, making it necessary to discuss active or passive technical solutions to mitigate these problems. Therefore, some factors and technical solutions were pointed out that will assist in the suitability of the project in question.

ABSTRACT Shrimp trawl fisheries constitute a major threat to continental shelves’ biodiversity, given their profound impact on benthic communities. We investigated the composition of an invertebrate assemblage impacted by this type of fishery and possible correlations of the abundance and richness with specific environmental parameters. The activities of the industrial shrimp fleet on the north coast of Brazil were monitored over two years. We analyzed 20,303 specimens belonging to seven phyla (Porifera, Cnidaria, Mollusca, Sipuncula, Annelida, Arthropoda, Echinodermata) and 154 species. There was a predominance of generalist and rare species, given that most species (86) were sporadic. Taxonomic composition patterns were complex, dynamic, and were correlated mainly with the temperature and depth of the Amazon continental shelf, the largest in extension and low depth of the South Atlantic. The crustaceans were dominant in both abundance and taxonomic richness. The influence of environmental factors on the abundance of the main species is discussed. The invertebrates are a neglected component in studies of fisheries impact and important components of the ecological structure of the Amazon coast. They are an essential group for developing a holistic fisheries management approach, which will support the sustainability of the region's fisheries and preserve local aquatic communities.

Resumo Fundamento A síndrome de takotsubo (takotsubo) é uma forma de cardiomiopatia adquirida. Dados nacionais sobre essa condição são escassos. O Registro REMUTA é o primeiro a incluir dados multicêntricos dessa condição no nosso país. Objetivo Descrever as características clínicas, prognóstico, tratamento intra-hospitalar e mortalidade hospitalar e em 1 ano de seguimento. Métodos Estudo observacional, retrospectivo, tipo registro. Incluídos pacientes internados com diagnóstico de takotsubo ou que desenvolveram esta condição durante internação por outra causa. Os desfechos avaliados incluíram fator desencadeador, análise dos exames, uso de medicações, complicações e óbito intra-hospitalar e em 1 ano de seguimento. O nível de significância adotado foi de 5%. Resultados Foram incluídos 169 pacientes, em 12 centros no Estado do Rio de Janeiro. A idade média foi de 70,9 ± 14,1 anos e 90,5% eram do sexo feminino; 63% dos casos foram de takotsubo primário e 37% secundário. Troponina I foi positiva em 92,5% dos pacientes e a mediana de BNP foi de 395 (176,5; 1725). Supradesnivelamento do segmento ST esteve presente em 28% dos pacientes. A fração de ejeção do ventrículo esquerdo teve mediana de 40 (35; 48)%. Observamos taxa de 25,7% de ventilação mecânica invasiva e 17,4% de choque. Suporte circulatório mecânico foi utilizado em 7,7%. A mortalidade intra-hospitalar foi de 10,6% e a mortalidade ao final de 1 ano foi de 16,5%. Takotsubo secundário e choque cardiogênico foram preditores independentes de mortalidade. Conclusão Os resultados do REMUTA mostram que takotsubo não se trata de patologia benigna como se pensava, especialmente no grupo de takotsubo secundário que acarreta elevada taxa de complicações e de mortalidade. Abstract Background Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is an acquired form of cardiomyopathy. National Brazilian data on this condition are scarce. The Takotsubo Multicenter Registry (REMUTA) is the first to include multicenter data on this condition in Brazil. Objective To describe the clinical characteristics, prognosis, in-hospital treatment, in-hospital mortality, and mortality during 1 year of follow-up. Methods This is an observational, retrospective registry study including patients admitted to the hospital with diagnosis of TTS and patients admitted for other reasons who developed this condition. Evaluated outcomes included triggering factor, analysis of exams, use of medications, complications, in-hospital mortality, and mortality during 1 year of follow-up. A significance level of 5% was adopted. Results The registry included 169 patients from 12 centers in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Mean age was 70.9 ± 14.1 years, and 90.5% of patients were female; 63% of cases were primary TTS, and 37% were secondary. Troponin I was positive in 92.5% of patients, and median BNP was 395 (176.5; 1725). ST-segment elevation was present in 28% of patients. Median left ventricular ejection fraction was 40 (35; 48)%. We observed invasive mechanical ventilation in 25.7% of cases and shock in 17.4%. Mechanical circulatory support was used in 7.7%. In-hospital mortality was 10.6%, and mortality at 1 year of follow-up was 16.5%. Secondary TTS and cardiogenic shock were independent predictors of mortality. Conclusion The results of the REMUTA show that TTS is not a benign pathology, as was once thought, especially regarding the secondary TTS group, which has a high rate of complications and mortality. Resumo As infecções influenciam negativamente a produção de tambaqui e, no norte do Brasil, a ampla distribuição dessa doença parasitária tem gerado preocupação entre os piscicultores. O objetivo deste estudo foi revisar a literatura publicada sobre esse patógeno. Seis principais bancos de dados de pesquisa on-line foram investigados usando-se as palavras-chave “Neoechinorhynchus buttnerae”, “acantocefalose” e “acantocéfalos de peixe”. Com base em um conjunto de critérios predeterminados, 39 publicações foram selecionadas para esta revisão. O mecanismo de ação patogênica de N. buttnerae está relacionado ao grau de penetração da probóscide. A infecção resulta em alterações histopatológicas e morfológicas no hospedeiro. A recorrência do parasito na região Norte foi maior, doze anos após sua primeira ocorrência. A falta de legislação específica sobre produtos veterinários para animais aquáticos, combinada com a negligência de boas práticas de manejo e com a ausência de um plano de contingência para o controle de infecções por acantocéfalos, contribuíram para a atual situação sanitária em Colossoma macropomum na região Norte do Brasil. Informações adicionais sobre a ocorrência da doença, patogenicidade e controle de infecções por acantocéfalos são imprescindíveis para o desenvolvimento de um plano de contingência de doenças na região e pesquisas para resolvê-las devem ser incentivadas pelo setor.

Abstract Infections negatively influence the production of tambaqui, and in north Brazil, the wide distribution of this parasitic disease has generated concern among fish farmers. The objective of this study was to review published literature on this pathogen. Six main online research databases were searched using the keywords “Neoechinorhynchus buttnerae”, “acantocefalose”, and “acanthocephalan fish”. Based on a set of predetermined criteria, 39 publications were selected for this review. The mechanism of pathogenic action of N. buttnerae is related to the degree of penetration of the proboscis. Infection results in histopathological and morphological changes in the host. The recurrence of the parasite in the northern region was greater twelve years after their first occurrence. The lack of specific legislation on veterinary products for aquatic animals, combined with the neglect of good management practices, and the absence of a contingency plan for the control of acanthocephalan infections have contributed to the current health situation of Colossoma macropomum northern Brazil. Additional information about the occurrence of the disease, pathogenicity, and control of acanthocephalan infections are imperative for developing a disease contingency plan in the region and research to address these should be encouraged by the sector.

RESUMO Objetivo Identificar os cuidados concebidos como boas práticas de enfermagem a pacientes em ventilação mecânica invasiva no contexto de emergência hospitalar. Método Estudo descritivo, qualitativo, realizado de junho a setembro de 2017. Participaram 16 enfermeiros da emergência geral de um hospital da região Sul do Brasil. Os cuidados, extraídos da literatura e classificados quanto ao nível de evidência, foram agrupados em categorias por similaridade e selecionados nos Grupos de Discussão. Resultados Os enfermeiros consideraram como boas práticas aos pacientes em ventilação mecânica invasiva um total de 13 cuidados, os quais estão relacionados ao tubo endotraqueal, ao ventilador e circuito, à prevenção de broncoaspiração, ao controle de infecção e à sedação, analgesia/sono, vigília/dor. Os cuidados foram extraídos de estudos com níveis de evidência IIb, IV e VI. Conclusão e implicações para a prática As boas práticas de enfermagem em ventilação mecânica invasiva, concebidas pelos enfermeiros da emergência, respaldam cientificamente a assistência ao paciente em suporte ventilatório invasivo, podendo ser aplicadas em contextos similares.

ABSTRACT Objective To identify care conceived as good nursing practices for patients on invasive mechanical ventilation in the context of hospital emergency. Method Descriptive, qualitative study, conducted from June to September 2017 with the participation of 16 nurses from general emergency room of a hospital in Brazil’s southern region. Care, extracted from the literature and classified according to evidence level, were grouped into categories by similarity and selected in Discussion Groups. Results The nurses considered a total of 13 care measures as good practices for the patients on mechanical ventilation. These care measures are related to endotracheal tube, ventilator and circuit, prevention of bronchoaspiration, infection control and sedation, analgesia/sleep, wakefulness/pain. Practices were extracted from studies with evidence levels IIb, IV and VI. Conclusion and implications for practice Good nursing practices related to invasive mechanical ventilation, as conceived by nurses from the emergency room, scientifically supportive care towards patients on invasive ventilatory support and may be applied in similar contexts.

ABSTRACT Objective: To instruct, with a flowchart and Standard Operating Procedure, nurses from Primary Health Care, in order to monitor cases of gestational syphilis. Method: Qualitative research, action-research type, practical-educational modality. Attendees: Representatives of the Epidemiological Surveillance, Women’s Health Program, Primary Health Care, nurses from the Family Health Strategy and the medical staff. Made in the city of São José-SC, in October 2017. Results: An instrument was developed to assist pregnant women with a rapid reagent test for syphilis. Conclusion: The participants working in the primary care assistance practice, through a dynamic process, allowed legitimacy, seeking to meet the demands of the services and the professionals. The speed in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of syphilis in pregnancy are related to the proper management, associated with actions, strategies and updates, providing qualified assistance during the gestational period, to effectively eradicate congenital syphilis.

RESUMEN Objetivo: instrumentalizar, con flujograma y Procedimiento Operativo Estándar, a los enfermeros de la Atención Primaria de la Salud, con el objetivo de monitorear los casos de sífilis gestacional. Método: investigación de enfoque cualitativo, tipo investigación-acción, modalidad práctico-educativa. Participantes: representantes de la Vigilancia Epidemiológica, Programa Salud de la Mujer, Atención Primaria de la Salud, enfermeros de la Estrategia Salud de la Familia y del cuerpo de clínica médica. Estudio realizado en la municipalidad de San José-SC, durante el mes de octubre de 2017. Resultados: se elaboró un instrumento para auxiliar en la atención de gestantes con de test rápido reactivo para sífilis. Conclusión: los participantes actuantes en la práctica asistencial da atención primaria permitieron, por medio de un proceso dinámico, la legitimidad, intentando atender las demandas de los servicios y de los profesionales. La celeridad en el diagnóstico, seguimiento y tratamiento de la sífilis gestacional se relacionan con el manejo adecuado, asociado a acciones, estrategias y actualizaciones, brindando asistencia cualificada durante el período gestacional, para erradicar la sífilis congénita de manera efectiva.

Conclusão: os participantes atuantes na prática assistencial da atenção primária permitiram, através de um processo dinâmico, a legitimidade, buscando atender às demandas dos serviços e dos profissionais. A celeridade no diagnóstico, acompanhamento e tratamento da sífilis na gestação estão relacionados com o manejo adequado, associado a ações, estratégias e atualizações, proporcionando assistência qualificada durante o período gestacional, para efetivamente erradicar a sífilis congênita.

RESUMO Introdução: A lesão central de células gigantes é própria dos ossos gnáticos, sendo um tumor benigno não odontogênico. É uma lesão de crescimento predominantemente lento, bem circunscrito e assintomático, geralmente diagnosticada através de algum exame de rotina ou, em casos mais avançados, quando se começa a visualizar alguma alteração estético-anatômica ou através da queixa do paciente de algum desconforto localizado na região. Objetivo: Ilustrar um caso clínico de lesão central de células gigantes e sua resolução envolvendo momento cirúrgico e reabordagem que inclui a homeopatia na proposta terapêutica. Apresentação do caso: Paciente do sexo feminino, inicialmente com 4 anos de idade com uma lesão na região de pré-maxila. Após avaliação radiográfica, tomográfica, exames sanguíneos e biópsia incisional, foi realizada, em primeiro momento, a exérese da lesão sob anestesia geral, por curetagem com aplicação de solução de carnoy. Após proservação e surgimento de imagem radiopaca nos exames, deu-se início ao tratamento não invasivo com homeopatia e injeções de corticoide visando à redução e neoformação óssea em área sugestiva de tecido cicatricial. Conclusões: Abordagens mais conservadoras podem ser, em muitos casos, uma opção plausível que acaba por livrar o paciente de cirurgias mutilantes.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Giant cell central lesion is characteristic of the gnathic bones, being a non-odontogenic benign tumor. Classified as a predominantly slow grotwh, well-circumscribed and asymptomatic lesion usually diagnosed through routine examination or in some and more advanced cases once it begins to create some aesthetic-anatomical alteration or when the patient starts complaining of some located discomfort in the region. Objective: To present a clinical case of central giant cell lesion and its resolution involving surgical approach and second management, which includes homeopathy as a therapeutic proposal. Case presentation: central giant cell lesion located in the premaxilla region in a 4 years old female patient. After radiographic, tomographic and blood exams evaluation, followed by incisional biopsy and diagnostic, leading to surgical approach to remove the entire lesion by curettage with Carnoy’s solution application under general anesthesia. After appearance of radiopaque imaging in the proservation examinations, the non-invasive treatment by corticoid injection and homeopathy got started aiming the reduction of cicatricial tissue’s suggestive area and neoformation of the bone. Conclusions : approaches that are more conservative can be, in many cases, a plausible option that ends up ridding the patient of mutilating surgeries.

RESUMEN Introducción: La lesión central de células gigantes es propia de los huesos gnáticos, lo que constituye un tumor benigno no odontogénico. Es una lesión de crecimiento predominantemente lento, bien circunscrita y asintomática, generalmente diagnosticada a través de algún examen de rutina o en casos más avanzados cuando se empieza a visualizar alguna alteración estético-anatómica o el paciente que se queja de algún malestar localizado en la región. Objetivo: Presentar un caso clínico de lesión central de células gigantes y su resolución involucrando momento quirúrgico y reabordaje que incluye la homeopatía en la propuesta terapéutica. Presentación del caso: Paciente del sexo femenino, inicialmente con 4 años de edad con una lesión en la región de pre-maxila. Después de la evaluación radiográfica, tomográfica, exámenes sanguíneos y biópsia incisional con el diagnóstico, se realizó en un primer momento la exéresis de la lesión bajo anestesia general, por curetaje con aplicación de solución de carnoy. En los exámenes de acompañamiento, después de la aparición de imagen radiopaca, se inició el tratamiento no invasivo con homeopatía e inyecciones de corticoides para la reducción y neoformación ósea en el área sugestiva de tejido cicatricial. Conclusiones: Los enfoques más conservadores pueden ser, en muchos casos, una opción plausible que termina librando al paciente de cirugías de mutilación.

Abstract: Variable rates of HPV infection have been reported in healthy oral mucosa worldwide. The main objective of this study was to detect and genotype HPV infection in users and nonusers of drugs with clinically healthy mucosa from the Northeast Brazil. Samples from 105 patients were amplified using the primers MY09/MY11 and GP5+/GP6+, and genotyping was performed by multiplex-PCR for HPV-6/11, 16 and 18. A total of 81.9% samples were positive. Among drug users, 84.5% presented the virus and 20.4% showed multiple infections. Among non-drug users, 78.7% were positive and 13.5% had multiple infections. Limited information is available on oral HPV in Brazilian population, especially for drug users, and our results showed higher HPV infection rates in both users and nonusers of drugs. More studies and researches focused on drug users including factors like sexual behavior, nutrition and cultural habits are necessary to enhance the comprehension of this relationship, and develop preventive strategies.

Abstract A total of 38 freshwater brachyuran species occur in Brazil, of which 79% are distributed in the northern region. However, for only two species of freshwater crabs are descriptions available for their juveniles. The importance of these studies lies in understanding of life-cycle aspects as well the potential elucidation of phylogenetic relationships within the group because the characters are usually solely based on adult specimens. The morphology of the first juvenile stage of the Dilocarcinus septemdentatus (Herbst, 1783) is described and illustrated for the first time based on specimens hatched by an ovigerous female collected in the northeastern region of the Brazilian Amazon. Juveniles of Dilocarcinus pagei Stimpson, 1861 and D. septemdentatus have one flagellar segment on the exopod of the first maxilliped while the only described juvenile of an unidentified species of Trichodactylus Latreille, 1828 has two. Dilocarcinus septemdentatus differs from other congeneric species mainly in the number of setae on the antennae and number of segments of the mandibular palp. Variations in the number of segments and aesthetascs enable the comparison between the juveniles of D. septemdentatus with those of other Brachyuran species previously studied and suggest possible adaptations to freshwater environments.

Resumo Contexto O estudo do fenômeno de fadiga é essencial porque as falhas de implantes geralmente são causadas por este processo. Objetivo O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a resistência à fadiga de conjuntos de pilares retos e anatômicos que foram submetidos a cargas cíclicas. Material e método Foram utilizados 37 implantes cone Morse e 37 pilares, divididos em dois grupos (n = 16: pilares retos, n = 21: pilares anatômicos). Os conjuntos foram submetidos à carga cíclica (5.000.000) usando o equipamento servo-hidráulico. Três conjuntos de cada grupo foram submetidos a testes de flexão para determinar a resistência de carga máxima, o que serviu de parâmetro para comparação dos testes cíclicos. Foram avaliados número de ciclos, carga e momento de flexão. Resultado Dos 31 pilares ciclicamente testados, 17 (54,8%) fraturaram em menos de 5 milhões de ciclos; 8 (25,8%) destes eram pilares retos, e 9 (29%) eram anatômicos. Um total de 14 amostras (45,2%) resistiu à carga cíclica. De acordo com o teste exato de Fisher, não houve diferença entre os grupos quanto à fratura. Conclusão Apesar dos pilares retos terem maior carga média e momento de flexão que os anatômicos, os dois tipos de pilares apresentaram desempenho semelhante quanto a resistência à fratura in vitro.

Abstract Background The study of the phenomenon of fatigue is essential because implant failures usually are caused by this process. Purpose The objective of this study was to examine the fatigue resistance of straight and anatomical abutments joints that were submitted to cyclic loads. Material and method We used 37 Morse taper implants and 37 abutments, divided into two groups (n= 16: straight abutment, n= 21 anatomical abutment). The sets were submitted to cyclic loading (5 million) using servo-hydraulic equipment. Three sets from each group were subjected to bending tests to determine the maximum load resistance, which served as the parameter for comparison of the cyclic tests. We evaluated number of cycles, load and bending moment. Result Of the 31 abutments cyclically tested, 17 (54.8%) fractured in fewer than 5 million cycles; 8 (25.8%) of these were straight abutments, and 9 (29%) were anatomical. A total of 14 samples (45.2%) resisted the cyclic loading. According to Fisher's exact test, there was no difference between groups as the fracture. Conclusion Despite of the straight abutments have higher average load and bending moment on the anatomical, both types of abutments showed similar performance as the fracture strength in vitro.
