RESUMEN Se presenta el caso de una mujer en la tercera década de la vida, con cefalea mixta de difícil control y síndrome de ovario poliquístico bajo tratamiento hormonal, sin ninguna otra manifestación, la cual debutó con un síndrome coronario agudo tipo angina inestable. El electrocardiograma mostró infradesnivel en cara anterior y lateral, así como supradesnivel del ST en aVR. La angiotomografia de coronarias y la coronariografía mostraron evidencia de obstrucción importante del tronco de la coronaria izquierda. Tras el abordaje se llegó al diagnóstico de vasculitis secundaria a lupus eritematoso sistémico como manifestación inicial poco habitual.

ABSTRACT We present the case of a woman in her third decade of life, known to have difficult-to-control mixed headaches and polycystic ovary syndrome, under hormonal treatment. Without any other manifestation, the patient debuted with an acute coronary syndrome classified as unstable angina. Electrocardiogram showed anterior and lateral ST segment depression and ST elevation in aVR. Coronary computer tomography and coronary angiography showed evidence of significant obstruction of the left main coronary artery. The patient was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and was classified as vasculitis secondary to SLE as an unusual initial manifestation.

Resumen El cáncer de mama es la neoplasia más frecuente y con mayor mortalidad en mujeres en todo el mundo. La décima actualización del Consenso Mexicano Sobre Diagnóstico y Tratamiento del Cáncer Mamario (2023) es publicada por sus autores en diferentes artículos. El presente artículo incluye el manejo de cáncer de mama avanzado, el tratamiento sistémico adyuvante, el papel de la cirugía y la radioterapia en enfermedad metastásica y el seguimiento posterior al tratamiento con intención curativa. La difusión de este consenso contribuye a la actualización y homogeneidad de criterios de manejo del cáncer mamario en etapas avanzadas.

Abstract Breast cancer is the most common neoplasia, with the highest mortality in women worldwide. The tenth update of the Me-xican Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of Breast Cancer (2023) is published by its authors in different articles. This article includes the management of advanced breast cancer, the adjuvant systemic treatment, the role of surgery and radiotherapy in metastatic disease, and follow-up after treatment with curative intent. The dissemination of this consensus contri-butes to the updating and homogeneity of breast cancer management of advanced stages.

Abstract In the last decade, the pharmaceutical industry has shown great interest in the cultivation of aloe vera [Aloe vera (L.) Burm. F.]. In Mexico, it is grown in different states and agroecological conditions. This study aimed to characterize in situ the agro-morphological characteristics of aloe vera at two sites in the states of Puebla and Veracruz, Mexico. In the 2019 agricultural cycle, two-year-old aloe vera plants were collected in both agroecological regions during both the dry and rainy seasons. The agro-morphological variables recorded were: leaf length, width, contour, thickness and weight, useful leaf weight, residue weight, gel weight, and skin weight. The edaphic variables analyzed were: pH, electrical conductivity, organic matter, texture, bulk density, total nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. In addition, the altitude and average temperature and precipitation of each site were recorded. The variables were analyzed through an analysis of variance, principal components and Pearson’s correlation using the Rstudio program and the Statistical Analysis System. Significantly higher values (p≤ 0.05) were found in 60% of the agro-morphological variables of materials 1P, 2P, and 2V compared to 1V. According to the principal component analysis, the first two principal components accounted for 98.22% of the total morphological variability in the materials evaluated by site. There was a correlation between one geophysical variable, two climatic variables, two edaphic variables and morphological variables, except for leaf width. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between the agro-morphological characteristics of aloe vera and the agroecological conditions of the site.

Resumen En la última década, la industria farmacéutica ha mostrado gran interés en el cultivo de sábila (Aloe vera (L.) Burm. F.). En México, se cultiva en diferentes estados y condiciones agroecológicas. El objetivo fue caracterizar in situ las características agro-morfológicas de sábila, en dos sitios en los estados de Puebla y Veracruz, México. En el ciclo agrícola 2019, se colectaron plantas de sábila, de dos años, en ambas regiones agroecológicas tanto en época de sequía y de lluvia. Las variables agro-morfológicas registradas fueron: largo, ancho, contorno, espesor, peso de hoja, peso de hoja útil, peso de residuos, peso del gel y peso de piel. Las variables edáficas analizadas fueron: pH, conductividad eléctrica, materia orgánica, textura, densidad aparente, nitrógeno total, fósforo y potasio. Además, se registró la altitud, la temperatura y precipitación medias de cada sitio. Las variables fueron analizadas a través de análisis de varianza, componentes principales y correlación de Pearson empleando el programa Rstudio y Statistical Analysis System. Se encontraron valores significativamente (p≤ 0.05) mayores en el 60% de las variables agro-morfológicas de los materiales 1P, 2P y 2V con respecto al 1V. De acuerdo con el análisis de componentes principales, los dos primeros componentes principales, explicaron el 98. 22% de la variabilidad morfológica total en los materiales evaluados por sitio. Existió correlación entre una variable geofísica, dos climáticas, dos edáficas y morfológicas, excepto ancho de hoja. Se concluye que existe una relación significativa entre las características agro-morfológicas de la sábila y las condiciones agroecológicas del sitio.

Resumen: A pesar de todo el conocimiento generado en torno a las técnicas de injerto en especies vegetales, existe poca investigación que evalúe los resultados encontrados. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar, mediante técnicas bibliométricas, la información publicada en artículos científicos donde se evalúo alguna técnica de injerto, para identificar metodologías de análisis, tipos de injertos, especies vegetales y la aplicación de los resultados encontrados. La palabra clave utilizada para la búsqueda de los artículos científicos fue ‘grafting’, y se consideraron publicaciones hasta diciembre de 2022. De 1994 a 2022 se identificaron 293 artículos científicos, la frecuencia de su publicación mostró una tendencia exponencial (R2 = 0,54). Se encontró que se evalúan variables asociadas al portainjerto, injerto y sobrevivencia de la nueva planta formada, que son evaluadas cada vez con mayor frecuencia con técnicas multivariadas por el interés de detectar las variables más significativas a partir de un número elevado de variables analizadas. Se documentaron 11 técnicas de injerto: púa, hendidura, empalme, inglés, yema, in vitro, microinjerto, en T, chapado, chip y entube. Las especies de mayor análisis correspondieron a frutícolas (cítricos), hortícolas (tomate), forestal (nogal), y ornato (rosa). Sin embargo, el 63,47% de los artículos científicos se limitaron a hacer análisis descriptivos sobre prendimiento, compatibilidad y sobrevivencia de los materiales vegetativos. Lo anterior, deja un área de oportunidad para desarrollar investigación sobre los procesos de mejora genética en la búsqueda de caracteres agronómicos de interés (fruto y crecimiento), o bien en la diversidad genética orientada a la productividad y/o conservación.

Abstract: Despite all the knowledge generated about grafting techniques in plant species, there is little research that evaluates the results found. The objective of this work was to analyze, through bibliometric techniques, the information published in scientific articles in which a grafting technique was evaluated, to identify analysis methodologies, types of grafts, plant species, and the application of the results found. The keyword used for the search of scientific articles was ‘grafting’, and publications up to December 2022 were considered. From 1994 to 2022, 293 scientific articles were identified, the frequency of their publication showed an exponential trend (R2 = 0,54). It was found that variables associated with rootstock, graft and survival of the newly formed plant are evaluated, with an increasing use of multivariate techniques in order to detect the most significant variables. Eleven grafting techniques were documented: bark grafting, cleft grafting, splice grafting, whip and tongue grafting, budding, in vitro grafting, micrografting, T-budding, side-veneer grafting, chip budding, and tube grafting. Fruit (citrus), horticultural (tomato), forest (walnut), and ornamental (rose) crops were the most widely analyzed. However, 63,47% of the scientific articles were limited to descriptive analyses on success rate, compatibility and survival rate of vegetative materials. This provides the opportunity to conduct research on genetic improvement processes in the search for agronomic traits of interest (fruit and growth), or on genetic diversity aimed to improve productivity and/or conservation.

Abstract Breast cancer, in early stages, has specific surgical, radiotherapy, and systemic management. This type of cancer includes ductal carcinoma in situ and breast cancers in stages I, IIA, IIB, and IIIA. This tenth update of the Mexican Breast Cancer Consensus addressed the management of early stages. The dissemination of this consensus contributes to the updating and homogeneity of breast cancer management criteria. This article aims to present the update in the multidisciplinary management of breast cancer.

Resumen El cáncer mamario en estadios tempranos tiene un manejo local (quirúrgico y radioterapia) y sistémico específico. Este tipo de cáncer incluye el carcinoma ductal in situ y los cánceres de mama en estadios I, IIA, IIB y IIIA. Esta décima actualización del Consenso Mexicano de Cáncer Mamario abordó el manejo de los estadios tempranos. La difusión de este consenso contribuye a la actualización y homogeneidad de criterios de manejo del cáncer mamario y el objetivo de este artículo es presentar la actualización en el manejo multidisciplinario del cáncer de mama.

Abstract Background SARS-CoV-2 infection has become a major international issue, not only from a medical point of view, but also social, economic and political. Most of the available information comes from the United States, Europe, and China, where the population and the socioeconomic status are very different from Latin American countries. This study evaluates the effect of regional socioeconomic characteristics on mortality due SARS-CoV-2 infection in patients with immune-mediated rheumatic diseases (IMRD) from Argentina, Mexico and Brazil. Methods Data from three national registries, SAR-COVID (Argentina), CMR-COVID (Mexico) and ReumaCoV-Brasil (Brazil), were combined. Adult IMRD patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection were recruited. National data for each province/state, including population density, number of physicians per inhabitant, income, unemployment, GINI index, Municipal Human Development Index (MHDI), stringency index, vaccination rate and most frequent viral strains per period were assessed as risk factors for mortality due to COVID-19. Results A total of 4744 patients were included, 2534 (53.4%) from SAR-COVID, 1166 (24.6%) from CMRCOVID and 1044 (22.0%) from ReumaCoV-Brasil. Mortality due to COVID-19 was 5.4%. In the multivariable analysis, higher number of physicians per 1000 inhabitants and being infected during the vaccination period of each country were associated with lower mortality. After adjustment for socioeconomic factors, there was no association with country of residence and mortality. Conclusion These findings corroborate the complex interplay between socioeconomic factors, rheumatic disease activity, and regional disparities as determinants of death due to COVID-19 in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. Thus, this research provides valuable insights for guiding public health policies and clinical practice in the ongoing fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Abstract: The objective of this study was to characterize the morphological composition of five populations of native maize and estimate their yields using agricultural practices without the use of agrochemicals. The study conducted in 2021, in the municipality of Cintalapa, Chiapas, within the experimental field of the Regional Academic Center of the Antonio Narro Autonomous Agrarian University. The five populations of native maize were provided by farmers from different regions of the state, with prior informed consent. The Agricultural practices consisted of using plant extracts and potassium soap with neem extract (Azadirachta indica) to prevent and combat pests. For fertilization, Californian red earthworm (Eisenia foetida) leachate and bat guano were applied in their commercial presentation. Morphological characters were evaluated with a descriptive statistical analysis considering days to male and female flowering, plant and ear height ear length and diameter, number of rows per ear and number of kernels per row. Grain yield was estimated by the weight of the ear harvested from a random sample of 20 plants per population. Numerical differences of the studied variables were identified, which demonstrates an existing genetic diversity. The populations with the highest yields were Campeón and Olotillo, with 5.37 and 4.4 ton ha-1 (± 1.24), respectively. The data provide information to design native maize conservation strategies through agrochemical-free management.

Resumen: El objetivo de este estudio fue caracterizar morfológicamente cinco poblaciones de maíz nativo y estimar sus rendimientos, empleando prácticas agrícolas sin uso de agroquímicos. El estudio se realizó en el año 2021, en el municipio de Cintalapa, Chiapas, dentro del campo experimental del Centro Académico Regional de la Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro. Las cinco poblaciones de maíz nativo fueron proporcionadas por campesinos de diferentes regiones de la entidad, con previo consentimiento informado. Las prácticas agrícolas consistieron en uso de extractos vegetales y jabón potásico con extracto de neem (Azadirachta indica) para la prevención y combate de plagas. Para la fertilización se aplicó lixiviado de lombriz roja californiana (Eisenia foetida) y guano de murciélago en su presentación comercial. Los caracteres morfológicos se evaluaron con un análisis estadístico descriptivo considerando: días de floración masculina y femenina, alturas de planta y mazorca, longitud y diámetro de la mazorca, y número de hileras por mazorca y número de granos por hilera. El rendimiento de grano se estimó mediante el peso de la mazorca cosechada de una muestra aleatoria de 20 plantas por población. Se identificaron diferencias numéricas de las variables estudiadas, lo que demuestra una diversidad genética existente. Las poblaciones que presentaron mayores rendimientos fueron Campeón y Olotillo, con 5,37 y 4,4 ton ha-1 (± 1,24), respectivamente. Los datos aportan información para diseñar estrategias de conservación de maíces nativos con manejo libre de agroquímicos.

RESUMEN Introducción y objetivos: El tratamiento de los pacientes con fibrilación auricular no valvular (FANV) que requieren implante de stents coronarios es un desafío. El objetivo del estudio fue investigar si el cierre de la orejuela izquierda (COI) podría ser una opción posible y beneficiosa para estos pacientes. Para ello, se analiza el impacto del COI más tratamiento antiagregante plaquetario (AP) en comparación con la combinación de anticoagulantes orales (ACO), incluidos los ACO directos, y tratamiento AP en los resultados a largo plazo de estos pacientes Métodos: Se analizaron los resultados de 207 pacientes con FANV sometidos consecutivamente a implante de stents coronarios. Recibieron ACO 146 pacientes (74 acenocumarol, 71 ACO de acción directa) y en 61 se realizó COI. La mediana de seguimiento fue de 35 meses. Los pacientes también recibieron tratamiento AP por prescripción de su cardiólogo. El estudio recibió la debida supervisión ética. Resultados: La edad (media: 75,7 años) y el antecedente de accidente vascular cerebral fueron similares en ambos grupos, aunque el grupo de COI presentó más características desfavorables (antecedente de enfermedad de las arterias coronarias [CHA2DS2-VASc], antecedente de hemorragias significativas [BARC ≥ 2] y HAS-BLED). La aparición de acontecimientos adversos graves (muerte, accidente vascular cerebral, accidente isquémico transitorio, hemorragia grave) y cardiovasculares graves (muerte de causa cardiaca, accidente vascular cerebral, accidente isquémico transitorio, infarto de miocardio) fue significativamente mayor en el grupo de ACO que en el de COI: 19,75 frente a 9,06% (HR = 2,18; p = 0,008) y 6,37 frente a 1,91% (HR = 3,34; p = 0,037), respectivamente. Conclusiones: La combinación de COI y tratamiento AP en pacientes con FANV conlleva mejor pronóstico clínico a largo plazo que el tratamiento con ACO y terapia AP, a pesar de las características basales desfavorables del grupo de COI.

ABSTRACT Introduction and objectives: The treatment of patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) who need coronary stenting is challenging. The objective of the study was to determine whether left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) could be a feasible option and benefit these patients. To this end, we studied the impact of LAAO plus antiplatelet drugs vs oral anticoagulants (OAC) (including direct OAC) plus antiplatelet drugs in these patients' long-term outcomes. Methods: The results of 207 consecutive patients with NVAF who underwent coronary stenting were analyzed. A total of 146 patients were treated with OAC (75 with acenocoumarol, 71 with direct OAC) while 61 underwent LAAO. The median follow-up was 35 months. Patients also received antiplatelet therapy as prescribed by their cardiologist. The study received the proper ethical oversight. Results: Age (mean 75.7 years), and the past medical history of stroke were similar in both groups. However, the LAAO group had more unfavorable characteristics (history of coronary artery disease [CHA2DS2-VASc], and significant bleeding [BARC ≥ 2] and HAS-BLED). The occurrence of major adverse events (death, stroke/transient ischemic events, major bleeding) and major cardiovascular events (cardiac death, stroke/transient ischemic attack, and myocardial infarction) were significantly higher in the OAC group compared to the LAAO group: 19.75% vs 9.06% (HR, 2.18; P = .008) and 6.37% vs 1.91% (HR, 3.34; P = .037), respectively. Conclusions: In patients with NVAF undergoing coronary stenting, LAAO plus antiplatelet therapy produced better long-term outcomes compared to treatment with OAC plus antiplatelet therapy despite the unfavorable baseline characteristics of the LAAO group.

RESUMEN La presente investigación tuvo como propósito determinar la relación entre la ansiedad ante los exámenes, los rasgos de personalidad, el autoconcepto y la asertividad con el rendimiento académico. En relación a la metodología se aplicó un diseño explicativo, de campo, utilizando la encuesta como técnica con un instrumento como cuestionario para medir las variables psicológicas fue por medio del cuestionario, aplicándose a una muestra de 79 estudiantes. Se encontró que existe una relación significativa de la ansiedad ante los exámenes, los rasgos de personalidad, el autoconcepto y asertividad con el rendimiento académico en los alumnos. Además existe una relación positiva altamente significativa entre la autoasertividad, el rasgo de afabilidad componente del rasgo de personalidad con el rendimiento académico del alumno y una relación negativa altamente significativa entre el autoconcepto familiar, el rasgo del razonamiento y el rasgo de privacidad de los rasgos de personalidad con el rendimiento académico.

RESUMO O objetivo desta pesquisa foi conhecer a relação entre ansiedade de teste, traços de personalidade, autoconceito e assertividade com o desempenho acadêmico. Relativamente à metodologia, foi aplicado um desenho de campo explicativo, utilizando como técnica o inquérito e o instrumento para as variáveis psicológicas foram através do questionário, aplicado a uma amostra de 79 alunos. Verificou-se que existe uma relação significativa entre ansiedade de teste, traços de personalidade, autoconceito e assertividade com o desempenho acadêmico em estudantes. Além disso, existe uma relação positiva altamente significativa entre a autoafirmação, o traço de afabilidade componente do traço de personalidade, com o desempenho acadêmico do aluno, e uma relação negativa altamente significativa entre o autoconceito familiar, o traço de raciocínio e a privacidade traço dos traços de autoafirmação personalidade com desempenho acadêmico.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to know the relationship between test anxiety, personality traits, self-concept, and assertiveness with academic performance. In relation to the methodology, an explanatory, field design was applied, using the survey as a technique and the instrument for the psychological variables was through the questionnaire, applied to a sample of 79 students. It was found that there is a significant relationship between test anxiety, personality traits, self-concept and assertiveness with academic performance in students. In addition, there is a highly significant positive relationship between self-assertiveness, the trait of affability component of the personality trait, with the student's academic performance, and a highly significant negative relationship between family self-concept, the reasoning trait, and the privacy trait of the traits of self-assertion. personality with academic performance.

SUMMARY Vaccines prevent millions of deaths each year, and their efficacy and safety have been widely established. In economic terms, vaccination is one of the most cost-effective health interventions, generating significant savings and long-term economic growth. Adult vaccination has been shown to decrease morbidity and mortality associated with preventable Infectious diseases, reducing complications and hospitalizations, including admissions to intensive care units. We have prepared this consensus document in order to design a pragmatic, accessible and standardized vaccination scheme for adults, according to risk category and age, based on the available evidence of available vaccines and new vaccines, having used the third consensus of the Paraguayan Infectious Diseases Society of 2019 as a basis for the final recommendations.

RESUMEN Las vacunas previenen millones de muertes cada año y su eficacia y seguridad han sido ampliamente establecidas. En términos económicos, la vacunación es una de las intervenciones sanitarias más costo efectivas, generando un importante ahorro y crecimiento económico que supone a largo plazo. Se ha demostrado que la vacunación de adultos disminuye la morbilidad y la mortalidad asociadas a enfermedades infecciosas prevenibles, reduciendo las complicaciones y las hospitalizaciones, incluidos los ingresos a las unidades de cuidados intensivos. Hemos elaborado este documento de consenso con el objeto de diseñar un esquema de vacunación pragmático, accesible y estandarizado del adulto, según categoría de riesgo y edad, sobre la base de la evidencia disponible de vacunas accesibles y nuevas vacunas habiendo utilizado el Tercer Consenso de la Sociedad Paraguaya de Infectología del 2019 como base para las recomendaciones finales.

Abstract: Elderly people have increased at an accelerated rate in recent years. In Mexico, one of the main problems affecting this population are related to disabilities, specifically limited mobility, i.e., arthritis in older adults. Different technological solutions have been proposed, such as electrical wheelchairs. However, for arthritic people, these wheelchairs are difficult to operate, lacking comfortability, and might be very expensive. In this work, we propose the development of a smart wheelchair for arthritic older adults able to move automatically and controlled by using slight manual movements of the hand and by voice commands. We followed the general methodology of a mechatronic design. A proof-of-concept model of the wheelchair was implemented. For validation, we tested the prototype in different real indoor scenarios. Results conclude that our proposed smart wheelchair complies with the user requirements, it is easy to operate, and the cost is reduced considerably. We anticipate this is a low-cost efficient smart wheelchair prototype that can be further considered for real technological solutions.

Resumen Las abejas sin aguijón juegan un papel importante para mantener el equilibrio de los ecosistemas en los que habitan al participar activamente en la polinización de la mayoría de las plantas con flores. El objetivo de este estudio fue caracterizar fisicoquímicamente la miel de Scaptotrigona mexicana de Fortín de las Flores, Cañada Blanca y Manuel León, en Veracruz, México, recolectada en 2017 y 2018. El experimento tuvo una distribución completamente al azar con diseño factorial, con los factores lugar y año de muestreo. El análisis de varianza mostró que la interacción de los factores afectó la actividad de agua, pero no el contenido de hidroximetilfurfural. En la miel de Fortín de las Flores se observaron mayores valores de color, conductividad eléctrica, pH, acidez de lactona y acidez total. El año con los valores más altos registrados de los parámetros medidos fue el 2017. Los datos indican buena calidad de miel joven y que los valores más altos de las variables medidas se observaron en Fortín de las Flores.

Abstract Stingless bees play an important role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystems they inhabit by actively participating in the pollination of most flowering plants. The objective of this study was to characterize physicochemically honey from the stingless bee species Scaptotrigona mexicana from Fortín de las Flores, Cañada Blanca, and Manuel León, in Veracruz, Mexico, collected in 2017 and 2018. The experimental design was completely randomized, with two factors: location and year of sampling. The analysis of variance showed that the interaction of factors affected water activity, but not hydroxymethylfurfural content. In honey from Fortín de las Flores, greater values for color, electrical conductivity, pH, lactone acidity, and total acidity were observed. The year with the highest recorded values of the measured parameters was 2017. The data obtained indicate Good quality of young honey and that the highest values of the measured variables were observed in Fortín de las Flores.

Abstract Description of clinical case: Three patients with urostomy and permanent double J-stent who had frank, acute and anemia hematuria are presented. All three had received radiotherapy for pelvic oncological pathology with subsequent performance of cystectomy and urostomy for severe radiation cystopathy. In no patient was the CT scan performed for the study of hematuria, requiring urgent arteriography and showing the presence of a ureter-iliac fistula (UIF) at the level of the left common iliac artery, right common iliac artery and right external iliac artery, respectively. After the placement of a covered iliac endovascular prosthesis, instant resolution of the clinical picture was achieved. Relevance: FUI is an exceptional diagnosis requiring the experience of the urologist and the vascular radiologist. This situation can be potentially lethal when presenting a picture of acute frank hematuria and anemia. Clinical implications: Suspecting an IUF, ureteral catheter manipulation should be performed in a catheterization room, where immediate arterial control with percutaneous vascular techniques is readily available. The performance of an arteriography should be immediate, avoiding the performance of a CT due to its low sensitivity. Conclusion: Endovascular treatment with a covered stent is a safe and effective treatment for FUI.

Resumen Descripción de casos clínicos: Se presentan tres pacientes con urostomía y catéter doble J permanente que presentaron hematuria franca, aguda y anemizante. Los tres habían recibido radioterapia por patología oncológica pélvica con realización posterior de cistectomía y urostomía por cistopatía rádica severa. En ningún paciente el TAC realizado por estudio de hematuria fue diagnóstico, precisando realizar una arteriografía urgente y evidenciando la presencia de una fístula uretero-ilíaca (FUI) a nivel de la arteria ilíaca común izquierda, ilíaca común derecha e ilíaca externa derecha, respectivamente. Tras la colocación de una prótesis ilíaca endovascular cubierta se consiguió la resolución instantánea del cuadro clínico. Relevancia: La FUI es una condición excepcional que requiere para su diagnóstico la experiencia del urólogo y el radiólogo vascular. Esta situación puede ser potencialmente letal al presentar un cuadro de hematuria franca aguda y anemizante. Implicaciones clínicas: Ante la sospecha de una FUI se debe realizar la manipulación del catéter ureteral en una sala de hemodinamia, donde el control arterial inmediato con técnicas vasculares percutáneas está fácilmente disponible. La realización de una arteriografía debe ser inmediata, obviando la realización de un TAC por su baja sensibilidad. Conclusión: El tratamiento endovascular con prótesis cubierta es un tratamiento seguro y efectivo para las FUI.

RESUMEN Se evaluó la acción de un reconstituyente metabólico como respuesta al estro de cabras Saanen x Alpina. Se utilizaron 36 cabras multíparas y se asignaron aleatoriamente a uno de tres tratamientos: T1 (n= 12): CIDR+eCG con reconstituyente metabólico (REC); T2 (n= 12): CIDR+eCG con solución isotónica (ISO); T3 (n= 12): CIDR+eCG (TEST). Se evaluó que los datos provinieran de una población distribuida normalmente. La respuesta al estro (RE), inicio del estro (IE), retorno al estro (RET), gestación (GEST), parición (PAR) y fertilidad (FER) se analizaron mediante la prueba no paramétrica de Kruskal-Wallis; la duración del estro (DE), fecundidad (FEC) y prolificidad (PROL) mediante un análisis de varianza y se utilizó la prueba de Tukey (α= 0.05) para comparar medias entre tratamientos. El tratamiento con REC redujo (p <0.05) el IE (T1: 20.78 h, T2: 32.54 h, T3: 33.68 h), aumentó la FEC (T1: 1.42, T2: 0.92, T3: 0.92) e incrementó la PROL (T1: 2.1, T2: 1.4, T3: 1.4). El tratamiento con ISO tuvo efecto similar al tratamiento TEST (p >0.05) en las variables de estudio. El reconstituyente metabólico durante la sincronización del estro en cabras Saanen x Alpina reduce el inicio del estro e incrementa la fecundidad y la prolificidad.

ABSTRACT The action of a metabolic treatment was evaluated in response to estrus synchronization in Saanen x Alpina goats. Thirty-six multiparous goats were used and randomly assigned to one of three treatments: T1 (n= 12): CIDR+eCG with metabolic restorative (MR); T2 (n= 12): CIDR+eCG with isotonic solution (ISO); T3 (n= 12): CIDR+eCG (CONTROL). Data were tested to come from a normally distributed population. Response to estrus (RE), the onset of estrus (OE), return to estrus (RET), gestation (GEST), calving (PAR), and fertility (FER) were analyzed using the non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test; estrus duration (ED), fecundity (FEC) and prolificacy (PROL) through an analysis of variance and Tukey's test (α= 0.05) to compare means between treatments. MR treatment reduced (p <0.05) OE (T1: 20.78 h, T2: 32.54 h, T3: 33.68 h), increased FEC (T1: 1.42, T2: 0.92, T3: 0.92), and increased PROL (T1: 2.1, T2: 1.4, T3: 1.4). The ISO treatment had a similar effect to the CONTROL treatment (p >0.05) in the study variables. The metabolic restorative treatment during estrus synchronization in Saanen x Alpine goats reduces the onset of estrus and increases fertility and prolificacy.
