Resumen El nitrógeno (N) y el azufre (S) son nutrientes, que además de influir en el crecimiento y producción de las plantas, interfieren en procesos relacionados con la calidad del fruto poscosecha. En el presente estudio se evalúo interacción N x S en la calidad poscosecha de tomate( Solanum lycopersicum L.). El experimento fue conducido en invernadero utilizando vasos de 5 dm3 de capacidad que contenian una capa de 0-20 cm de un Latosol Rojo distroférrico. Se utilizó un diseño factorial 5 x 3, con combinaciones de cinco dosis de N (0, 100, 200, 300 y 400 mg dm-3) y de tres de S (0, 60 y 120 mg dm-3) distribuidas en un diseño completamente aleatorio, con cuatro repeticiones. Después de la cosecha se evaluaron los atributos de la calidad del fruto: firmeza, pH, sólidos solubles (SS), acidez titulable (AT), relación sólidos solubles y acidez titulable (SS/AT), vitamina C, licopeno y betacaroteno. Se observó un aumento de la firmeza, así como del contenido de solidos solubles, acidez titulable y la relación SS/AT de los frutos como resultado la interacción N x S. No obstante esta interacción favoreció la reducción de los contenidos de vitamina C, licopeno y betacaroteno, y las características de calidad de fruto del tomate en relación con los valores recomendados. Sólo las dosis crecientes de N favorecieron un mayor pH en los frutos de tomate.

Abstract Nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S) are nutrients that, in addition to influencing plant growth and production, interfere with processes related to postharvest fruit quality. In the present study, N x S interaction was evaluated in the postharvest quality of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.). The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse using 5 dm3 capacity vessels containing a 0-20 cm layer of a dystropherric Red Latosol. A 5 x 3 factorial design was used, with combinations of five doses of N (0, 100, 200, 300 and 400 mg dm-3) and three doses of S (0, 60 and 120 mg dm-3) distributed in a completely randomized design, with four repetitions. After harvest, the attributes of fruit quality were evaluated: firmness, pH, soluble solids (SS), titratable acidity (AT), soluble solids ratio and titratable acidity (SS / AT), vitamin C, lycopene and beta-carotene. An increase in firmness was observed, as well as the content of soluble solids, titratable acidity and the SS / AT ratio of the fruits as a result of the interaction N x S. However, this interaction favoured the reduction of the contents of vitamin C, lycopene and beta-carotene, and the quality characteristics of tomato fruit in relation to the recommended values. Only the increasing doses of N favoured a higher pH in the tomato fruits.

RESUMO Os inibidores de urease N-(n-butil) tiofosfóricotriamida (NBPT) e nitrificação dicianodiamida (DCD) minimizam as perdas de nitrogênio (N) pela volatilização da amônia (NH3), por redução da velocidade de hidrólise da ureia e conversão de amônio em nitrato, respectivamente. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar as perdas de N do solo por volatilização, após a adição de doses de N, na forma de ureia combinada com inibidores de urease e de nitrificação, no semiárido mineiro. Utilizou-se o delineamento em blocos casualizados, com três repetições, em esquema fatorial 4 x 5 x 7, constituídos por: quatro combinações de ureia com inibidores (ureia comum; ureia + NBPT; ureia + DCD e, ureia + NBPT + DCD), cinco doses de N (0,0; 3,7; 7,4; 11,1 e 14,8 g/planta) e sete tempos de avaliação (3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 e 21 dias) após a aplicação, em cobertura, no cultivo de abacaxi irrigado. Foram avaliadas as perdas de amônia e o pH em torno do grânulo de ureia. O inibidor de urease (ureia + NBPT) foi mais eficiente nas menores doses de nitrogênio, além de reduzir e atrasar os períodos de volatilização de N-NH3 e também diminuir o pH do solo, por causa, provavelmente da maior nitrificação e, ou, do aumento da taxa de decomposição da matéria orgânica do solo (MOS), pela maior disponibilidade de N em comparação aos tratamentos com ureia e ureia + DCD. O aumento das doses de nitrogênio reduziu as perdas relativas de N por volatilização, graças à maior saturação dos sítios de ação da enzima urease.

ABSTRACT The urease inhibitor N-(n-butyl) thiophosphorictriamide (NBPT) and nitrification inhibitor dicyandiamide (DCD) can minimize nitrogen (N) losses by ammonia (NH3) volatilization, decreasing the speed of urea hydrolysis and ammonium to nitrate conversion, respectively. The objective of this study was to evaluate the soil N losses by volatilization after the addition of N doses in the form of urea combined with urease and nitrification inhibitors in the Minas Gerais semiarid. A randomized complete block design was used with three replications and a 4 × 5 × 7 factorial scheme - four combinations of urea inhibitors (common urea, urea + NBPT; urea + DCD; and urea + NBPT + DCD), five N levels (0.0; 3.7; 7.4; 11.1; and 14.8 g/plant), and seven evaluation times (3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 21 days) - after topdressing in irrigated pineapple crop. The losses of ammonia and pH around the urea granule were evaluated. The urease inhibitor (urea + NBPT) was more efficient in the lower N levels; in addition, it decreased and delayed the periods of N-NH3 volatilization and also decreased the pH of the soil, probably due to the higher nitrification and/or increase of the decomposition rate of soil organic matter by the greater availability of N compared with the urea and urea + DCD treatments. The relative N losses were reduced with the increase of N levels, because of the greater saturation of the enzyme urease action sites.

RESUMO A utilização de biofertilizantes ou inoculantes microbianos capazes de promover o crescimento e incrementar a produtividade das plantas têm sido aceita como alternativa a redução do uso de adubos químicos. Diante do exposto objetivou-se avaliar o o crescimento e qualidade de mudas micropropagadas de bananeira ‘Prata Anã’ após a bioinoculação de bacterias endofíticas promotoras de crescimento. O delineamento experimental adotado foi inteiramente casualizado, com três repetições, e os tratamentos foram compostos por 24 isolados de bactérias endofíticas. Os isolados EB-50 ( Bacillussp.), e EB-133 (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) caracterizados como fixadores biológicos de nitrogênio, o EB-51 (Bacillus pumilus) solubilizador de fosfato inorgânico e os isolados EB-55 () e EBacillussubtilisB-40 (Bacillus sp.) sintetizadores do ácido indol-3-acético, propiciaram os maiores incrementos para o comprimento, diâmetro do pseudocaule, massas frescas e massas secas nas mudas micropropagadas de bananeira ‘Prata Anã’.

ABSTRACT The use of bio-fertilizers and microbial inoculants that promote plant growth and increased yield has been accepted as an alternative to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of plant growth promoting bacteria inoculation on growth and quality of micropropagated banana seedlings ‘Prata Anã’. The experimental design was completely randomized, with four replications and the treatments consisted of 24 isolates of endophytic bacteria. The isolates EB-50 (Bacillus sp.) and EB-133 (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) characterized as diazotrophic, the EB-51 (Bacillus pumilus) indicate for inorganic phosphate solubilization and EB-55(Bacillus subtilis) and EB-40 (Bacillus sp.) indole-3-acetic acid producers have provided significant increases for length, pseudostem diameter, fresh masses and dry masses in ‘Prata Anã’ micropropagated banana seedlings.

RESUMO A adubação nitrogenada e potássica e a avaliação adequada do estado nutricional são imprescindíveis para o aumento da produção de frutos de maracujá, no entanto, são consideradas escassas no Brasil informações literárias relacionadas à caracterização dos teores e acúmulos foliares de nutrientes em maracujazeiros com distintas capacidades produtivas. Objetivou-se avaliar os teores e acúmulos foliares de macronutrientes em partes distintas do ramo frutífero de cultivares de maracujazeiro azedo submetidos à adubação com N e K. O delineamento utilizado foi em blocos casualizados, com três repetições, no esquema fatorial 4 × 6, consistindo de quatro cultivares de maracujazeiro azedo (BRS Gigante Amarelo, IAC 275, BRS Ouro Vermelho e BRS Sol do Cerrado) e seis doses de N-K2O (0-0, 50-125, 100-250, 150-375, 200-500 e 250-625 kg ha-1 ano-1). Foram adotados dois métodos de amostragem foliar (folha localizada na posição adjacente ao fruto e folha localizada no final do ramo frutífero) para a avaliação nutricional. A maior produção de massa de matéria seca implicou em maiores acúmulos médios de macronutrientes nas folhas adjacentes das cultivares de maracujazeiro. O aumento das adubações com N-K inibiu o acúmulo de Ca e Mg nas folhas adjacentes ao fruto para as cultivares Gigante Amarelo, IAC e Ouro Vermelho, mas não alteraram o acúmulo de Ca e Mg na folha localizada no final do ramo frutífero. As cultivares de maracujazeiro apresentaram distintos acúmulos foliares de macronutrientes após a adubação com N-K, indicando a presença de demanda nutricional variável e necessidade de elaboração de métodos de diagnose específicos para cada cultivar.

ABSTRACT Nitrogen and potassium fertilization and assessment of adequate nutritional status are essential for increasing fruit production of passion fruit. However, studies related to characterization of the leaf nutrient concentration and content in passion fruit with different production capacities are scarce in the literature in Brazil. The objective of this study was to evaluate macronutrient leaf concentration and content in different parts of the reproductive shoot of yellow passion fruit subjected to different ratios of N and K fertilization. The study was conducted in a randomized block design, with three replications, following a 4 x 6 factorial arrangement consisting of four cultivars of yellow passion fruit (BRS Gigante Amarelo, IAC 275, BRS Ouro Vermelho, and BRS Sol do Cerrado) and six application rates of N-K2O fertilizer (0-0, 50-125, 100-250, 150-375, 200-500, and 250-625 kg ha-1 year-1). Two leaf sampling methods were adopted (leaf located at a position adjacent to the fruit, and leaf located at the end of the reproductive branch) for nutritional assessment. The leaf located at the adjacent position had lower N, P, K, Mg, and S concentration and higher Ca concentration than the concentrations observed in the standard leaf. However, the higher leaf dry matter in adjacent leaves resulted in increased macronutrient concentration/content. The increase in N-K fertilizations inhibited Ca and Mg content in the leaves adjacent to the fruit of the Gigante Amarelo, IAC, and Ouro Vermelho passion fruit cultivars, but did not affect Ca and Mg content in the standard leaf. The passion fruit cultivars showed different leaf nutrient contents after N-K fertilization, indicating variable nutritional demands and the need for specific diagnostic methods for each cultivar.

RESUMO A absorção equilibrada dos micronutrientes pelo maracujazeiro é essencial para o aumento da produção e qualidade de seus frutos. No entanto, a utilização de cultivares com distintas capacidades produtivas e doses elevadas de nitrogênio e potássio podem levar a desordens nutricionais nas plantas. Objetivou-se avaliar os teores e acúmulos foliares de micronutrientes em maracujazeiros, sob dois métodos de amostragem foliar e adubação com N e K. O delineamento utilizado foi o em blocos casualizados, com três repetições, no esquema fatorial 4 × 6, consistindo em quatro cultivares de maracujazeiro- azedo (BRS Gigante Amarelo, IAC 275, BRS Ouro Vermelho e BRS Sol do Cerrado) e seis doses de N-K2O (0-0; 50-125; 100-250; 150-375; 200-500 e 250-625 kg ha-1 ano-1). Foram adotados dois métodos de amostragem foliar (folha localizada na posição adjacente ao fruto e folha localizada no final do ramo frutífero) para a avaliação nutricional. Aos 240 dias após plantio das mudas de maracujazeiro na área experimental, foram amostradas 20 folhas por parcela. Os maiores acúmulos de micronutrientes foram obtidos nas folhas adjacentes, possivelmente em virtude da maior massa de folhas (folhas totalmente desenvolvidas) em comparação àqueles obtidos nas folhas-padrão. A cultivar IAC 275 teve menor teor e acúmulo médio de Cu, Fe e Mn na folha adjacente, indicando variações nos teores de micronutrientes entre as cultivares e a existência de distintas demandas de micronutrientes pelas cultivares estudadas. As adubações com N e K tiveram menor interferência nos teores e acúmulos de micronutrientes foliares, mas reduziram o teor e o acúmulo foliar de Zn na folha-padrão da cultivar Gigante Amarelo, de Cu na folha adjacente da cultivar Ouro Vermelho.

ABSTRACT Balanced uptake of micronutrients by the passion fruit plant is essential for increased production and fruit quality. However, similar fertilizer management in varieties with different productive capacities and high levels of nitrogen and potassium can cause nutritional disorders in plants. The objective of this study was to evaluate leaf micronutrient concentrations and contents in passion fruit as affected by two different sampling methods, different N-K fertilization proportions, and different cultivars. The study was conducted in a randomized block design, with three replications, following a 4 × 6 factorial arrangement consisting of four cultivars of yellow passion fruit (BRS Gigante Amarelo, IAC 275, BRS Ouro Vermelho, and BRS Sol do Cerrado) and six application rates ofN-K2O fertilizer (0-0, 50-125, 100-250, 150-375, 200-500, and 250-625 kg ha-1 year-1). Two leaf sampling methods (leaf located at a position adjacent to the fruit, and leaf located at the end of the fruit-bearing branch) were adopted for nutritional assessment. At 240 days after planting passion fruit seedlings in the experimental area, 20 leaves per plot were sampled. Higher accumulated micronutrient contents were obtained in the adjacent leaves, possibly because of greater leaf weight (more fully developed leaf) compared to the standard leaf. The cultivar IAC 275 had lower concentration and content of Cu, Fe, e Mn in the adjacent leaf, indicating variations in the levels of micronutrients among the cultivars and different micronutrient demands by the cultivars studied. N and K fertilization had less effect on leaf micronutrient concentration and content, but the Zn concentration and content decreased in the standard leaf of the BRS Gigante Amarelo cultivar, and Cu decreased in the standard leaf of the BRS Ouro Vermelho cultivar.

A utilização adequada da adubação nitrogenada e o aumento da densidade populacional incrementam a produtividade do abacaxizeiro e podem aumentar o retorno econômico. Objetivou-se avaliar a rentabilidade econômica e as características de qualidade pós-colheita do abacaxizeiro Vitória irrigado, sob diferentes fontes e doses de nitrogênio (N), bem como o aumento da densidade populacional. Utilizou-se o delineamento em blocos casualizados, com três repetições, em esquema fatorial 2 x 5 x 4, correspondendo a duas fontes de N (ureia e esterco bovino), cinco doses de N (0 g planta-1, 5 g planta-1, 10 g planta-1, 15 g planta-1 e 20 g planta-1) e quatro densidades (51.282 plantas ha-1, 76.923 plantas ha-1, 90.909 plantas ha-1 e 126.984 plantas ha-1). As fontes de N não interferiram no pH, acidez total titulável e relação sólidos solúveis totais/acidez total titulável (SST/ATT). Entretanto, o teor de SST foi superior nas plantas adubadas com esterco bovino. A densidade de plantas não interferiu na qualidade de pós-colheita dos frutos. O aumento das doses de N fornecidas via ureia e esterco bovino influenciou somente a acidez total titulável dos frutos. Com a adição de 20 g planta-1 de N-esterco e população de 126.984 plantas ha-1obteve-se o máximo rendimento líquido parcial de R$ 132.096,48. No entanto, a dose de 19,75 g planta-1 de N-ureia, na população de 119.686,00 plantas ha-1, resultou em rendimento líquido parcial de R$ 154.997,15.

The appropriate use of nitrogen fertilization and higher population densities increase the pineapple yield and can improve economic returns. This study aimed to evaluate the economic return and postharvest characteristics of irrigated Vitória pineapple under different nitrogen (N) sources and doses, as well as the increase in population density. A randomized blocks design with three replications was installed in a 2 x 5 x 4 factorial scheme, corresponding to two N sources (urea and cattle manure), five N doses (0 g plant-1, 5 g plant-1, 10 g plant-1, 15 g plant-1 and 20 g plant-1) and four densities (51,282 plants ha-1, 76,923 plants ha-1, 90,909 plants ha-1 and 126,984 plants ha-1). The N sources did not affect the pH, total titratable acidity and total soluble solids/total titratable acidity ratio (TSS/TTA). However the TSS content was higher in plants fertilized with cattle manure. The plants density did not affect the quality of postharvest fruit. The increase of N doses supplied by urea and cattle manure influenced only the total titratable acidity of the fruits. The combination of 20 g plant-1 of N-manure and a population of 126,984 plants ha-1 resulted in the maximum partial net income of R$ 132,096.48, however, the dose of 19.75 g plant-1of N-urea, in the population of 119,686.00 plants ha-1, reached a partial net income of R$ 154,997.15.

O estado nutricional do abacaxizeiro tem grande influência no crescimento de suas plantas e na produção e qualidade de seus frutos. Este estudo teve o objetivo de avaliar a absorção, o acúmulo e a exportação de nutrientes pelo abacaxizeiro 'Vitória', irrigado nas fases de crescimento e produção. O delineamento estatístico utilizado foi em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram definidos por distintas épocas de coleta de plantas: 270, 330, 390, 450, 510, 570, 690, 750 e 810 dias após o plantio (DAP). As plantas coletadas foram separadas nos seguintes componentes: folhas, talo, raízes, fruto e mudas, para determinar o peso de matérias fresca e seca a 65 ºC. Após secagem, os componentes das plantas foram moídos para caracterizar o teor e conteúdo de nutrientes absorvidos e exportados pelo abacaxizeiro. Os resultados foram submetidos à análise de variância; e para as diferenças significativas, identificadas pelo teste F (p<0,01), foram ajustados os modelos de regressão não linear. As folhas e o talo foram os componentes da planta que apresentaram maior acúmulo de nutrientes. Para a produção de 72 t ha-1 de frutos, o acúmulo de macronutrientes no abacaxizeiro 'Vitória' evidenciou a seguinte ordem decrescente: K > N > S > Ca > Mg > P e correspondeu, respectivamente, a 898, 452, 134, 129, 126 e 107 kg ha-1 de acúmulo total. A exportação de macronutrientes pelo fruto na cultura do abacaxizeiro seguiu a seguinte ordem decrescente: K > N > S > Ca > P > Mg e equivaleu, respectivamente a 18, 17, 11, 8, 8 e 5 % do total acumulado pelo abacaxizeiro. O abacaxizeiro 'Vitória' exportou para o fruto 78 kg ha-1 de N; 8 kg ha-1 de P; 164 kg ha-1 de K; 14 kg ha-1 de S; 10 kg ha-1 de Ca; e 6 kg ha-1 de Mg. Os conteúdos de nutrientes exportados pelos frutos representaram importantes componentes de extração de nutrientes do solo, que devem ser restituídos, enquanto os nutrientes contidos nas folhas, no talo e na raiz podem ser incorporados ao solo dentro de um programa de reaproveitamento de restos culturais.

The nutritional state of the pineapple plant has a large effect on plant growth, on fruit production, and fruit quality. The aim of this study was to assess the uptake, accumulation, and export of nutrients by the irrigated 'Vitória' pineapple plant during and at the end of its development. A randomized block statistical design with four replications was used. The treatments were defined by different times of plant collection: at 270, 330, 390, 450, 510, 570, 690, 750, and 810 days after planting (DAP). The collected plants were separated into the following components: leaves, stem, roots, fruit, and slips for determination of fresh and dry matter weight at 65 ºC. After drying, the plant components were ground for characterization of the composition and content of nutrients taken up and exported by the pineapple plant. The results were subjected to analysis of variance, and non-linear regression models were fitted for the significant differences identified by the F test (p<0.01). The leaves and the stem were the plant components that showed the greatest accumulation of nutrients. For production of 72 t ha-1 of fruit, the macronutrient accumulation in the 'Vitória' pineapple exhibited the following decreasing order: K > N > S > Ca > Mg > P, which corresponded to 898, 452, 134, 129, 126, and 107 kg ha-1, respectively, of total accumulation. The export of macronutrients by the pineapple fruit was in the following decreasing order: K > N > S > Ca > P > Mg, which was equivalent to 18, 17, 11, 8, 8, and 5 %, respectively, of the total accumulated by the pineapple. The 'Vitória' pineapple plant exported 78 kg ha-1 of N, 8 kg ha-1 of P, 164 kg ha-1 of K, 14 kg ha-1 of S, 10 kg ha-1 of Ca, and 6 kg ha-1 of Mg by the fruit. The nutrient content exported by the fruits represent important components of nutrient extraction from the soil, which need to be restored, while the nutrients contained in the leaves, stems and roots can be incorporated in the soil within a program of recycling of crop residues.
