Resumen En la actualidad, los suelos agrícolas están afectados por salinidad debido al uso excesivo de fertilizantes y la mala calidad del agua para el riego agrícola. En la actualidad, los productos a base de silicio (Si) se están aplicando para ayudar a la sostenibilidad de la agricultura; además, el Si beneficia a las plantas a tener mayor tolerancia a plagas y enfermedades, ayuda contra la toxicidad por metales pesados y actúa contra el estrés hídrico y salino. Por lo tanto, el objetivo del estudio fue evaluar el efecto del silicio como atenuante de la salinidad en la germinación de semillas y crecimiento inicial de plántulas de tomate. El trabajo se realizó en el laboratorio de Germoplasma de la Universidad Autónoma Baja California Sur. Las variedades de tomate seleccionadas fueron: cherry (Solanum lycopersicum var. Cerasiforme), bola (Solanum lycopersicum var. Floradade) y saladette (Solanum lycopersicum var. Río Grande). El diseño experimental fue completamente al azar con arreglo factorial de 2 x 3, donde el factor A fueron las concentraciones salinas de cloruro de sodio (NaCl) (0, 25, 50 mM) y el factor B, las diluciones de silicio (0, 1, 2 mM). Cada tratamiento incluyó cuatro repeticiones de 25 semillas cada una. Los cultivares de tomate mostraron efectos diferentes respecto a la salinidad. El cultivar cherry mostró disminuciones en sus variables germinativas al incrementarse la salinidad, lo que indica que los cultivares Floradade y Río Grande son más tolerantes a salinidad. En este sentido el silicio presentó un efecto protector en la interacción (NaCl + Si), mostrando efectos positivos al incrementar las variables evaluadas.

Abstract At present, agricultural soils are affected by salinity due to the excessive use of synthetic fertilizers and poor quality of the water for agricultural irrigation. Currently, products based on silicon (Si) are being applied to help the sustainability of agriculture, in addition, Si benefits plants to have greater tolerance to pests and diseases, helps against heavy metal toxicity and acts against water and salt stress. Therefore, the aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of silicon as a salinity mitigator on seed germination and initial growth of tomato seedlings. The work was carried out in the Germplasm laboratory of the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur, Mexico. The selected tomato varieties were cherry (Solanum lycopersicum var. Cerasiforme), beef (Solanum lycopersicum var. Floradade) and saladette (Solanum lycopersicum var. Río Grande). The experimental design was completely randomized with a 2 x 3 factorial arrangement, where factor A was saline concentrations (0, 25, 50 mM) of sodium chloride (NaCl) and factor B was silicon dilutions (0, 1, 2 mM). Each treatment included four repetitions of 25 seeds each. Tomato cultivars showed different effects regarding salinity. The cherry cultivar showed decreases in its germinative variables with increasing salinity, indicating that the Floradade and Río Grande cultivars are more tolerant to salinity. In this same sense, silicon presented a protective effect in the interaction (NaCl + Si), showing positive effects by increasing the variables evaluated.

Resumen: En las próximas décadas será crucial satisfacer las demandas de alimentos, sin propiciar la degradación ambiental, no sólo para aumentar la producción agrícola en medio del cambio climático, sino también para desarrollar tecnologías innovadoras que aumenten los rendimientos agrícolas, minimicen los insumos y eviten una mayor contaminación ambiental, por lo que actualmente se ensayan en el mundo, numerosos productos de carácter orgánico que son aplicados como agentes nutricionales o estimulantes del crecimiento vegetal. El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar la efectividad agrobiológica de quitosano, hongos micorrízicos y ácidos húmicos en el crecimiento y desarrollo en plantas de dos variedades de tomate en condiciones controladas. Se estableció un experimento en un diseño bifactorial, con dos variedades y aplicación de, quitosano (3 g L-1), hongos micorrízicos arbusculares (20 g de esporas mL-1) y ácidos húmicos (1:30 v/v), el tratamiento control fue agua destilada. Las variables evaluadas fueron porcentaje de emergencia total, tasa de emergencia, porcentaje de germinación, longitud de tallo, diámetro del tallo, longitud de raíz y número de hojas, biomasa fresca y seca de parte aérea, e indicadores de producción: número de frutos por planta, diámetro polar, diámetro ecuatorial y rendimiento por planta. Los parámetros del desarrollo inicial presentaron diferencias signif icativas a la aplicación de ácidos húmicos y quitosano en la variedad Vyta, además del porcentaje de emergencia del 96% en ambas variedades, mientras la biomasa fresca y seca de las variedades presentaron resultados favorables, asimismo la variedad Vyta obtuvo mayor rendimiento con la aplicación de ácidos húmicos. La aplicación de ácidos húmicos demostró mejores resultados, seguido de la utilización de hongos micorrízicos arbusculares, debido a que las variedades de tomate mostraron un mejor desarrollo, obteniendo frutos de calidad y buen peso.

Summary: In the coming decades it will be crucial to meet the demands for food, without promoting environmental degradation, not only to increase agricultural production amid climate change, but also to develop innovative technologies that increase agricultural yields, minimize inputs and avoid increased environmental contamination, which is why numerous organic products are currently being tested in the world that are applied as nutritional agents or stimulants of plant growth. The objective of this work was to evaluate the agrobiological ef fectiveness of chitosan, mycorrhizal fungi, and humic acids in the growth and development in plants of two varieties of tomato under controlled conditions. The experiment was established in a bifactorial design, with two varieties and application of chitosan (3 g L-1), arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (20 g of spores mL-1) and humic acids (1:30 v / v), the control treatment was distilled water. The variables evaluated were percentage of total emergence, emergence rate, percentage of germination, stem length, stem diameter, root length and number of leaves, fresh and dry biomass of aerial part, and production indicators: number of fruits per plant, polar diameter, equatorial diameter and yield per plant. The initial development parameters showed signif icant dif ferences to the application of humic acids and chitosan in the Vyta variety, in addition to the emergence percentage of 96% in both varieties, while the fresh and dry biomass of the varieties presented favorable results, as well as the variety Vyta obtained higher yield with the application of humic acids. The use of humic acids showed better results, followed by the use of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, because the tomato varieties showed better development, obtaining quality fruits and good weight.

Resumen: El estrés salino origina una reducción signif icativa en las producciones agrícolas a nivel mundial, por lo que es una prioridad el desarrollo de investigaciones que contribuyan a mitigar sus efectos negativos de manera eco-amigable. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar el efecto de dinamizaciones homeopáticas de Natrum muriaticum (NaM) en el índice de tolerancia relativa al estrés salino (ITR) y la ganancia de biomasa vegetal, como tasa de crecimiento (TC) en etapa de desarrollo vegetativo inicial de plantas de frijol común Phaseolus vulgaris L. variedad Quivicán (FC-Q) y frijol Yorimón Vigna unguiculata L., Walp variedad Paceño (FY-P). El experimento se desarrolló en condiciones semi-controladas, con un diseño completamente al azar de arreglo factorial de 2A × 2B × 4C [(A: dos especies-variedad de frijol (Común-Quivicán; Yorimón-Paceño), B: dos niveles de NaCl (0;75mM), C: tres tratamientos homeopáticos (NaM-7CH; NaM-13CH; NaM-7CH+13CH) y agua destilada como tratamiento control (AD)], con cinco réplicas por tratamiento. Se observó una mayor TC en el frijol Común-Q; todos los tratamientos homeopáticos aplicados incrementaron TC con respecto al tratamiento control AD, siendo mayor la respuesta con NaM-7CH. El ITR se incrementó en ambas especies cuando recibieron NaM, siendo mayor en FC-Quivicán, superando al FY-P en biomasa seca de hojas (18%), de tallos (14%) y de raíces (12%). Este estudio demostró que la homeopatía agrícola es una alternativa viable, eco-amigable y de bajo costo, para incrementar la producción de frijol común-Quivican (P. vulgaris L.) y frijol Yorimón-Paceño (V. unguiculata L.) en áreas salinizadas por NaCl.

Summary: Saline stress causes a signif icant reduction in agricultural production worldwide, which is why it is a priority to develop research that contributes to mitigating its negative ef fects in an eco-friendly way. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the ef fect of homeopathic dynamizations of Natrum muriaticum (NaM) on the tolerance index relative to saline stress (ITR) and the gain of plant biomass as growth rate (TC) in the development stage. Initial vegetative stage of common bean plants Phaseolus vulgaris L. variety Quivicán (FC-Q) and bean Yorimón Vigna unguiculata L., Walp variety Paceño (FY-P). The experiment was developed under semi-controlled conditions, with a completely randomized design of factorial arrangement of 2A × 2B × 4C [(A: two bean species-variety (Común-Quivicán; Yorimón-Paceño), B: two levels of NaCl (0; 75mM), C: three homeopathic treatments (NaM-7CH; NaM-13CH; NaM-7CH + 13CH) and distilled water as control treatment (AD)], with f ive replications per treatment. A higher TC was observed in Common-Q beans; All homeopathic treatments applied increased TC with respect to the control AD treatment, the response being greater with NaM-7CH. The ITR increased in both species when they received NaM, being higher in FC-Quivicán, surpassing the FY-P in dry biomass of leaves (18%), stems (14%) and roots (12%). This study demonstrated that agricultural homeopathy is a viable, eco-friendly and low-cost alternative to increase the production of common beans-Quivican (P. vulgaris L.) and Yorimón-Paceño beans (V. unguiculata L.) in areas salinized by NaCl.

Abstract Highly diluted bioactive compounds have been successfully used in the agricultural sector to stimulate plant growth and development even in unfavorable crop conditions. For this reason, the feasibility of using Natrum muriaticum (NaM), a homeopathic ultradilution, as an elicitor agent against the negative effects of salt stress by NaCl, was studied in two varieties of basil (Ocimum basilicum L) grown in a saline medium, at CIBNOR, SC.), in February-March 2019. A completely randomized design with a factorial arrangement (2A×2B×3C) was applied, considering the Napoletano and Emily varieties as factor, the concentration of NaCl (0 and 75 mM) as factor B, and the homeopathic treatments NaM (7CH, 13CH and distilled water as control) as factor C, adding a total of 12 treatments with four repetitions each, and photosynthetic-rate and production of fresh and dry biomass of aerial part as response variables. The analysis of variance and multiple comparisons of means (Tukey HSD p≤ 0.05) revealed that both dynamizations of NaM (7CH and 13CH) favored an increase in the response variables evaluated in plants subjected to salt stress. The highest increase in photosynthetic rate (75%) and fresh biomass of the aerial part (40%) with respect to the control treatment was obtained with NaM 7CH in the Napoletano variety. In conclusion, the application of NaM attenuates salt stress in Ocimum basilicum L, confirming that agricultural homeopathy is an eco-friendly alternative that can increase basil production under salt stress conditions.

Resumen Los compuestos bioactivos altamente diluidos se han utilizado con éxito en el sector agrícola para estimular el crecimiento y desarrollo de las plantas, incluso en condiciones de cultivo desfavorables. Por esta razón, se estudió la viabilidad de utilizar Natrum muriaticum (NaM), una ultradilución homeopática, como agente elicitor contra los efectos negativos del estrés salino por NaCl, en dos variedades de albahaca (Ocimum basilicum L.) cultivadas en un medio salino, en el CIBNOR, SC., en febrero-marzo de 2019. Se aplicó un diseño completamente al azar con un arreglo factorial (2A×2B×3C), considerando las variedades Napoletano y Emily como factor A, la concentración de NaCl (0 y 75 mM) como factor B, y los tratamientos homeopáticos con NaM (7CH, 13CH y agua destilada como control) como factor C, sumando un total de 12 tratamientos con cuatro repeticiones cada uno, y la tasa fotosintética y producción de biomasa fresca y seca de la parte aérea como variables de respuesta. El análisis de varianza y las comparaciones múltiples de medias (DSH de Tukey p≤ 0.05) revelaron que ambas dinamizaciones de NaM (7CH y 13CH) favorecieron un aumento de las variables de respuesta evaluadas en plantas sometidas a estrés salino. El mayor aumento de la tasa fotosintética (75%) y de la biomasa fresca de la parte aérea (40%) con respecto al tratamiento control se obtuvo con NaM 7CH en la variedad Napoletano. En conclusión, la aplicación de NaM atenúa el estrés salino en Ocimum basilicum L., lo que confirma que la homeopatía agrícola es una alternativa respetuosa con el medio ambiente que puede aumentar la producción de albahaca en condiciones de estrés salino.

Abstract: Biostimulants contain substances that regulate the secondary metabolism of plants. In addition to stimulating plant growth and development, they activate physiological and biochemical functions that help mitigate salt stress in plants. The objective of this study was to evaluate the mitigating effect of a commercial biostimulant on proline content, total protein and antioxidant enzymatic activity of three varieties of basil subjected to salinity stress with sodium chloride (NaCl). The design used was completely randomized with a factorial arrangement. Factor A were the varieties (Napoletano, Nufar and Emily), factor B the NaCl concentrations (0, 50, 100 and 150 mM) and factor C, the doses of the biostimulant (0 and 0.5 mL L-1) with four repetitions. Proline content, total protein, and superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and glutathione peroxidase (GPX) activity were determined in leaves and roots. The results showed that basil varieties increased proline, CAT, SOD and GPX concentrations as NaCl concentrations were moderate to severe (100 and 150 mM). The plants treated with 0.5 mL L-1 of the biostimulant significantly increased the variables studied, even in the presence of NaCl stress, determining the mitigating action of the biostimulant by promoting greater antioxidant enzymatic activity and an increase in osmoregulatory substances.

Resumen: Los bioestimulantes contienen sustancias que regulan el metabolismo secundario de las plantas. Además de estimular el crecimiento y el desarrollo vegetal, activan funciones fisiológicas y bioquímicas que ayudan a mitigar el estrés salino en las plantas. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el efecto mitigador de un bioestimulante comercial en el contenido de prolina, proteínas totales y actividad enzimática antioxidante de tres variedades de albahaca sometidas a estrés por salinidad con cloruro de sodio (NaCl). El diseño utilizado fue completamente al azar con arreglo factorial. El factor A fueron las variedades (Napoletano, Nufar y Emily), el factor B las concentraciones de NaCl (0, 50, 100 y 150 mM) y el factor C, las dosis del bioestimulante (0 y 0.5 mL L-1) con cuatro repeticiones. El contenido de prolina, proteínas totales y la actividad de superóxido dismutasa (SOD), catalasa (CAT) y glutatión peroxidasa (GPX) se determinaron en hojas y raíces. Los resultados mostraron que las variedades de albahaca aumentaron las concentraciones de prolina, CAT, SOD y GPX conforme las concentraciones de NaCl fueron de moderadas a severas (100 y 150 mM). Las plantas tratadas con 0.5 mL L-1 del bioestimulante, incrementaron significativamente las variables estudiadas, aún en presencia del estrés por NaCl, determinándose la acción mitigadora del bioestimulante al promover una mayor actividad enzimática antioxidante y un aumento de sustancias osmorreguladoras.

RESUMO: O objetivo foi determinar o efeito de humatas de vermicomposto como mitigador de salinidade na germinação e morfometria de mudas de variedades de manjericão, tolerantes e sensíveis à salinidade, submetidas a 0, 50 e 100 mM de NaCl e humatas de vermicomposto diluído 1/60 (v / v) em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com quatro repetições. Foram medidos a taxa e porcentagem de germinação, comprimento da radícula, altura da muda, comprimento da raiz, altura da parte aérea, raiz e biomassa fresca e seca da parte aérea. As variedades apresentaram resposta diferenciada, destacando-se o Napoletano como a mais tolerante. Humatos de vermicomposto mostraram efeitos bioestimulantes nas variáveis avaliadas, permitindo que a variedade tolerante melhorasse a germinação e o crescimento aumentando a tolerância à salinidade da variedade sensível.

ABSTRACT: This study determined the effect of vermicompost humates as salinity mitigator in germination and morphometric characteristics of basil varieties seedlings, tolerant and sensitive to salinity, subjected to vermicompost humates diluted 1/60 (v/v) and 0, 50 and 100 mM NaCl in a completely randomized design with four replications. The rate and percentage of germination, root length, shoot height, root and shoot fresh and dry-weight were measured. The varieties showed differential response, highlighting Napoletano as the most tolerant. Vermicompost humates showed biostimulant effects on variables evaluated, allowing that tolerant variety to improve germination and growth, and increasing the salinity tolerance of the sensitive variety.

Summary: The application of biofertilizers and biostimulants influence numerous physiological crop responses, with which potentiated production can be achieved and crop quality improved. The use of these products can reduce synthetic fertilization besides improving plant tolerance to stress. Therefore, research was performed with the objective of evaluating the effect of chitosan, mycorrhizal fungi and humic acids on growth and development of pepper varieties under protected conditions. A completely randomized design with a 2 × 4 factorial arrangement was used with three replications, where the first factor was varieties (Magaly and Lycal) and the second one biostimulants: humic acids (1:30 v/v), chitosan (3 g L-1 of water) and mycorrhizal fungi (20 g of spores ml-1), and one control (control) for each variety (without bioactive application). The results showed that the three bioactive agents studied increased seed germination from 11.66 to 16.67% while emergence was enhanced by humic acids and chitosan. On the other hand, humic acids produced plants of higher height at 25 and 45 days after sowing (dap), and stems of higher diameter, which in turn increased seedling fresh and dry biomass (339.38 and 106.72 g). In the same way, they influenced fruit increase per plant (15.33 fruit), length, diameter and weight (12.22 cm, 43.33 mm and 92.22 g), which is why higher values were generated in the Magaly variety yield with 29.16 Mg ha-1. The Magaly variety significantly outperformed Lycal variety in terms of germination (96.67%), emergence (95%), plant height, and stem diameter (25 and 45 dap).

Resumen: La aplicación de biofertilizantes y bioestimulantes influyen en varias respuestas fisiológicas de los cultivos, con ello se puede potencializar la calidad de las cosechas. Por lo cual la utilización de dichos productos puede minimizar la fertilización sintética, al mismo tiempo de incrementar la tolerancia al estrés biótico en el agroecosistema. Este estudio fue desarrollado con el propósito de valorar el impacto del quitosano, hongos micorrízicos y ácidos húmicos en el crecimiento de variedades de pimiento en condiciones protegidas. El método de prueba utilizado fue aleatorio en un factorial 2 × 4 con 3 réplicas, donde el primer factor fueron las variedades (Magaly y Lycal), y el segundo los bioestimulantes: ácidos húmicos (1:30v/v), quitosano (3 g L-1 de agua) y hongos micorrízicos (20 g de esporas ml-1), y un testigo (control) por cada variedad (sin aplicación de bioactivos). Los resultados demostraron que los tres bioactivos estudiados incrementaron entre 11.66 y 16.67% la germinación de las semillas, mientras que la emergencia fue potenciada por los ácidos húmicos y quitosano. Por su parte los ácidos húmicos produjeron plantas de mayor altura a los 25 y 45 días después de la siembra (ddt), y tallos de mayor diámetro. Esto a su vez incrementó la biomasa fresca y seca de las plántulas (339.38 y 106.72 g), de la misma manera influyeron en el incremento de frutos por planta (15.33 frutos), longitud, diámetro y peso (12.22 cm, 43.33 mm y 92.22 g). Se generaron valores mayores en el rendimiento de la variedad Magaly con 29.16 Mg ha-1. La variedad Magaly superó significativamente a la variedad Lycal en cuanto a germinación (96.67%), emergencia (95%), altura de plantas y diámetro del tallo (25 y 45 ddt).

Abstract. Species of Trichoderma spp. were isolated, identified and characterized associated with Pachycereus pringlei and Jatropha cinerea as biocontrol agents against phytopathogenic fungi. The antagonistic agents were isolated from six sites in Baja California Sur, Mexico. The identification was made based on its morphological characteristics and abundance, frequency of occurrence and mycelial growth of Trichoderma spp. and in vitro antagonism against F. oxysporum, F. solani, R. solani, C. gloeosporioides and A. alternata was determined. Eighteen Trichoderma isolates concentrated in seven species were obtained: T. asperellum, T. atroviride, T. harzianum, T. koningii, T. viride, T. longibrachiatum and Trichoderma spp. Duncan’s test (p<0.05) showed significant differences in the abundance of the species (CFU/g of soil) and the frequency of occurrence. The largest population was found in El Saltito, Los Encinos and Las Pocitas with CFU of 2.1, 1.8 and 0.7 × 103 g-1 of soil respectively. In the in vitro antagonism, T. koningii was the one that significantly inhibited the growth of phytopathogenic fungi. The antifungal activity of the various of Trichoderma spp. can be an alternative for the biocontrol of diseases caused by phytopathogenic fungi.

Resumen. Se aislaron, identificaron y caracterizaron especies de Trichoderma spp. asociadas a plantas de Pachycereus pringlei y Jatropha cinerea como agentes de biocontrol hacia hongos fitopatógenos. Los agentes antagónicos se aislaron de seis sitios en Baja California Sur, México. La identificación se realizó en base a sus características morfológicas y se determinó; abundancia, frecuencia de ocurrencia y antagonismo in vitro hacia F. oxysporum, F. solani, R. solani, C. gloeosporioides y A. alternata. Se obtuvieron 18 aislamientos de Trichoderma concentrados en siete especies: T. asperellum, T. atroviride, T. harzianum, T. koningii, T. viride, T. longibrachiatum y Trichoderma sp. La prueba de Duncan (p<0.05) mostró diferencias significativas en la abundancia de las especies (UFC/g de suelo) y la frecuencia de ocurrencia. La mayor población se encontró en El Saltito, Los Encinos y Las Pocitas con UFC de 2.1, 1.8 y 0.7 × 103 g-1 de suelo respectivamente. En el antagonismo in vitro, T. koningii inhibió significativamente el crecimiento de los hongos fitopatógenos comparado con el control comercial. La actividad antifúngica de las diversas especies de Trichoderma spp. pueden ser una alternativa para el biocontrol de enfermedades ocasionadas por hongos fitopatógenos de las especies analizadas.

Abstract The objective of the research was to evaluate the emergence behavior and agronomic characteristics of the cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) crop with the application of chitosan, mycorrhizal fungi and humic acids under protected conditions. The research was carried out in a greenhouse and a laboratory of Molecular Biology and Microbiology of the State Technical University of Quevedo, Ecuador. The vegetative material was the commercial varieties of cucumber (Inivit and Racer), with chitosan (3 g L-1), Glomus cubense fungi (20 spores/100 g of soil) and humic acids (1:30 v/v) treatments. Emergence, morphometric variables, growth indicators and production indicators were evaluated. The results indicated that the Racer variety registered the highest percentage of emergence, and the Glomus cubense fungi presented the highest emergence (71.7%). On the other hand, the Glomus cubense fungi showed the highest fresh biomass (22.6 g) in the Inivit variety. Chitosan (285.8 g) and the Glomus cubense fungi (277.9 g) influenced fruit weight. Chitosan in the Inivit variety (5703.7 g) generated the highest yield. In general, it was found that the application of the Glomus cubense fungi induces an increase in emergence, fresh biomass, dry biomass of the cucumber crop, while the application of chitosan in both varieties generated higher yields.

Resumen El objetivo de la investigación fue evaluar el comportamiento de la emergencia y características agronómicas del cultivo de pepino (Cucumis sativus L.) ante la aplicación de quitosano, hongos micorrízicos y ácidos húmicos en condiciones protegidas. La investigación se realizó en un invernadero y laboratorio de Biología Molecular y Microbiología de la Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo, Ecuador. El material vegetativo fueron las variedades comerciales de pepino (Inivit y Racer), con tratamientos de quitosano (3 g L-1), Glomus cubense (20 esporas/100 g de suelo) y ácidos húmicos (1:30 v/v). Se evaluó emergencia, variables morfométricas, indicadores de crecimiento e indicadores de producción. Los resultados indicaron que la variedad Racer registró el mayor porcentaje de emergencia, el hongo Glomus cubense presentó la mayor emergencia (71.7%). Mientras el Glomus cubense en la variedad Inivit mostró la mayor biomasa fresca (22.6 g). En tanto que el quitosano (285.8 g) y el Glomus cubense (277.9 g) influyeron en el peso del fruto. A su vez el quitosano en la variedad Inivit generó el mayor rendimiento (5,703 kg ha-1). En general se comprobó que la aplicación del hongo Glomus cubense induce a incrementos en la emergencia, biomasa fresca, biomasa seca del cultivo de pepino, por su parte la aplicación de quitosano en ambas variedades generó mayor rendimiento.

Resumen A continuación, se presenta una indagación sobre la puesta en marcha de la tutoría entre pares en el Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Sinaloa a lo largo del ciclo escolar 2019-2020, con el objeto de describir su impacto en la Educación Media Superior. No obstante, además de explorar este fenómeno dentro de la modalidad presencial, se hacen algunas reflexiones respecto a su influencia en contextos adversos y emergentes como lo fue la pandemia del COVID-19. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo general valorar el impacto del programa institucional Tutoría Par en la experiencia educativa de los educandos en contextos de educación formal e informal como la cuarentena provocada por la contingencia sanitaria del coronavirus. Los participantes del estudio fueron estudiantes de primer y segundo grado de bachillerato y docentes adscritos al plantel que lleva de nombre COBAES 60 “Profra Jesusita Neda”. Se siguió un enfoque de investigación cualitativa bajo el método de la fenomenología; en este respecto, se aplicaron tres cuestionarios en línea y se realizaron registros de observación participante a lo largo del ciclo escolar. Los resultados arrojaron que la estrategia de aprendizaje conocida como tutoría par impacta positivamente en la experiencia, aprovechamiento académico, aprendizaje, e inclusión en la mayoría de los alumnos de nivel medio superior; sin embargo, se necesitan mejorar tanto los procesos para el funcionamiento del programa como el compromiso y comunicación entre los actores principales de la acción tutorial. Entre las conclusiones, se destaca que la mejora de habilidades pedagógicas, de acompañamiento, y el fomento de la confianza son factores sustanciales que optimizan la experiencia educativa de los educandos en la actividad tutorial.

Abstract Next, an inquiry is presented about the implementation of peer tutoring in the Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Sinaloa throughout the 2019-2020 school year, in order to describe its impact on High School Education. However, in addition to exploring this phenomenon within the face-to-face modality, some reflections are made regarding its influence in adverse and emerging contexts such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The main objective of this research was to value the impact of the Peer Tutoring institutional program on the educational experience of learners in contexts of formal and informal education such as the quarantine caused by the coronavirus health contingency. The study participants were first, and second grade students and teachers from the high school with the name of COBAES 60 “Profra. Jesusita Neda”. A qualitative research approach was followed under the method of phenomenology; in this regard, three online questionnaires were applied, and participant observation records were made throughout the school year. The results showed that the learning strategy known as peer tutoring has a positive impact on the experience, academic achievement, learning, and inclusion in the majority of high school students; nevertheless, both the processes for the operation of the program and the commitment and communication between the main actors of the tutorial action need to be improved. Among the conclusions, it is highlighted that the improvement of pedagogical skills, support, and the promotion of confidence are substantial factors that optimize the educational experience of the learners in the tutorial activity.

ABSTRACT Current agriculture looks for products that allow the growth and development of crops, as well as increase yields, and also that the active principles are of natural origin, biodegradable and do not cause damage to the environment. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of the application of chitosan at doses of 1, 2 and 3 g L-1 in the emergence, development and performance of the Floradade and Amalia tomato varieties, under greenhouse conditions. The experimental design was a randomized complete block, with a 2 x 3 + 2 factorial arrangement. The results showed that the 2 g L-1 dose was the one with the highest values in the emergence and development of tomato plants, stimulating higher fruiting, fruit weight and higher yield in the Floradade variety. It is concluded that the application of chitosan at doses of 2 g L-1 under our experimental conditions, increased the yields of the tomato crop in the Floradade variety.

RESUMEN La agricultura actual busca productos que permitan el crecimiento y desarrollo de los cultivos, así como incrementar los rendimientos, asimismo que los principios activos sean de origen natural, biodegradables y no causen daños al ambiente. El propósito de esta investigación fue evaluar el efecto de la aplicación de quitosano en dosis de 1, 2 y 3 g L-1 en la emergencia, desarrollo y rendimiento de las variedades de tomate Floradade y Amalia, en condiciones de invernadero. El diseño experimental fue un Bloques completos al azar, con arreglo factorial 2 x 3 + 2. Los resultados mostraron que la dosis de 2 g L-1 fue la que mostró los valores mayores en la emergencia y desarrollo de las plantas de tomate, estimuló una mayor fructificación, peso de frutos y mayor rendimiento en la variedad Floradade. A esto se concluye que la aplicación de quitosano en dosis de 2 g L-1 en las condiciones que se realizó la investigación incrementó los rendimientos del cultivo de tomate en la variedad Floradade.

SUMMARY: The indiscriminate use of fertilizers has contributed to soil salinity as well as to the depletion of soil mineral resources, causing farmers to depend on synthetic fertilizers. The objective of this study was to determine the content of plant-assimilable forms inorganic N, P, K in six organic fertilizers with potential use in organic agricultural production under principles of caring for the environment. Element determinations were performed with a HANNA spectrophotometer model HI83225-01. The fertilizer with the highest content of assimilable nitrogen was bat guano, followed by chicken manure and vermicompost Fertihum® In the case of phosphorus, the fertilizer that showed the highest amount was similarly bat guano followed by the chicken and cow manure. For the determination of potassium was bat guano that obtained the highest score along with the manure and vermicompost Fertihum®. The six organic fertilizers showed high values of electric conductivity (CE); chicken manure, bat guano and cow manure had the highest values. CE was significantly related to the nutrient content of organic fertilizers. The six organic fertilizers were within the values allowed by Mexican norms. The results generated in this study provide important information about the nutrient content of six organic fertilizers for their proper use.

RESUMEN: El uso indiscriminado de fertilizantes ha contribuido a la salinidad del suelo tanto como al agotamiento de recursos minerales del mismo ocasionando así dependencia a los fertilizantes sintéticos por parte de los productores agrícolas. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue determinar el contenido inorgánico de N, P, K en las formas asimilables para las plantas de seis abonos orgánicos potenciales a utilizarse en la agricultura orgánica, bajos los principios del cuidado al medio ambiente. Las determinaciones de los elementos fueron realizados a través de un espectrofotómetro marca HANNA modelo HI83225-01. El abono con mayor contenido de nitrógeno es sus formas asimilables fue el guano de murciélago, seguido por la gallinaza y lombricomposta Fertium®. En el caso del fósforo, el abono que mostró la más alta cantidad fue de igual manera el guano de murciélago seguido por la gallinaza y estiércol de vaca. Para la determinación de potasio fue el guano de murciélago quien obtuvo el resultado más alto junto con la gallinaza y lombricomposta Fertium ®. Los seis abonos observaron valores altos de conductividad eléctrica (CE), y la gallinaza, guano de murciélago y estiércol de vaca observaron los mayores valores de éste parámetro, relacionados de forma significativa con el contenido de nutrientes. En cuanto al pH los seis abonos se encontraron con valores dentro de los permitidos por las normas mexicanas. Los resultados permiten generar información del contenido de nutrientes de los seis abonos para realizar su adecuada aplicación por los productores.

Abstract A series of pyrimidinol-based compounds have been synthesized and evaluated for their ability to increase seedling biomass during seedling development. The compounds have the ability to reduce oxidative stress catalytically as natural phenolic antioxidants such as α-tocopherol do, but more efficiently. As a result, a compound with an appropriate structure (lipophilicity) effectively reduces the oxidative stress generated during seedling development, thus increasing biomass accumulation. Tomato seeds were pretreated with the synthesized antioxidants Py1C, Py8C and Py12C using acetone as the vehicle for application. None of the analogs tested affected total germination or hypocotyl dry biomass; however, seed treatment with Py8C and Py12C successfully increased radicle dry biomass by, on average, 44 % and 88 %, respectively. Compounds with these properties may be useful for the production of seedlings with enhanced characteristics such as vigor and stress resistance.

Resumen Una serie de compuestos basados en pirimidinoles ha sido sintetizada y evaluada en el incremento de biomasa durante desarrollo de plántulas. Estos compuestos tienen la habilidad de reducir el estrés oxidativo catalíticamente como lo hacen los compuestos antioxidantes fenólicos naturales, como el α-tocoferol. Como resultado, un compuesto con la estructura apropiada (lipofilicidad) puede reducir eficientemente el estrés oxidativo generado durante el desarrollo de plántulas y, por consiguiente, incrementar la acumulación de biomasa. Semillas de tomate fueron pre-tratadas con antioxidantes sintetizados Py1C, Py8C y Py12C usando acetona como vehículo de aplicación. Ninguno de los análogos aplicados afectó la germinación total ni la biomasa seca de hipocótilo; sin embargo, el tratamiento de semillas con Py8C y Py12C incrementó satisfactoriamente en promedio 44 % y 88 % la biomasa seca de raíz, respectivamente. Compuestos con estas propiedades pueden ser útiles en la producción de plántulas con características mejoradas como vigor y resistencia al estrés.

Abstract The application of synthetic fungicides is a common practice in the control of phytopathogenic fungi. However, its use indiscriminately has brought problems to human, animal and environmental health and has generated resistance in phytopathogens. In the search for alternatives, biological control using microorganisms can be an efficient option to the use of synthetic fungicides. Although bacteria and yeasts isolated from soil and plants have been evaluated as biological control agents, the search for new antagonists continues. The oceanic microflora can be an option for the selection of new antagonistic agents. The objective of this study was to evaluate the antagonistic potential of different bacteria (Stenotrophomonas rhizophila, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and B. subtilis) and yeasts (Debaryomyces hansenii, Cryptococcus diffluens and Rhodotorula minuta) previously isolated from a hyperhialin lagoon against 13 phytopathogenic fungi of agronomic importance. The results show that different strains of the S. rhizophila bacterium were those that exerted greater inhibition on spore germination and mycelial growth of all the phytopathogenic fungi, surpassing the treatments with synthetic fungicides. Among the yeasts, the strains of D. hansenii stood out. According to their antagonistic capacity, marine microorganisms can be an option for the management of diseases caused by phytopathogenic fungi.

Resumen La aplicación de fungicidas sintéticos es una práctica común en el control de hongos fitopatógenos. Sin embargo, su uso de manera indiscriminada ha traído problemas para la salud humana, animal, medio ambiente y ha generado resistencia en los fitopatógenos. En la búsqueda de alternativas, el control biológico usando microorganismos puede ser una opción eficiente al uso de fungicidas sintéticos. Aunque bacterias y levaduras aisladas de suelo y plantas han sido evaluadas como agentes de control biológico, la búsqueda de nuevos antagonistas continúa. La microflora oceánica puede ser una opción para la selección de nuevos agentes antagonistas. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el potencial antagónico de diferentes bacterias (Stenotrophomonas rhizophila, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens y B. subtilis) y levaduras (Debaryomyces hansenii, Cryptococcus diffluens y Rhodotorula minuta) aisladas previamente de una laguna hiperhialina contra 13 hongos fitopatógenos de importancia agronómica. Los resultados muestran que diferentes cepas de la bacteria S. rhizophila fueron las que ejercieron mayor inhibición sobre la germinación de esporas y crecimiento micelial de todos los hongos fitopatógenos, superando a los tratamientos con fungicidas sintéticos. Dentro de las levaduras destacaron las cepas de D. hansenii. De acuerdo con su capacidad antagónica, los microorganismos marinos pueden ser una opción para el manejo de enfermedades ocasionadas por hongos fitopatógenos.

Abstract The application of humic substances, stimulates biochemical, physiological mechanisms, investigations have been carried out that reveal the properties and functions of these substances. The objective of this investigation was to evaluate the effect of different concentrations of Liplant® applied foliarly (1/10, 1/20, 1/30 v/v and a control-distilled water-) in the growth, production and quality of fruit of tomato, and economic feasibility. Carried out under field conditions and using a design of complete blocks at random, 5 days after the transplant was measured height, diameter of stem; 65 days later, we considered fresh and dry fruit weight, polar and equatorial diameter, number of fruits, yield, titratable acidity, total soluble solids, maturity index, vitamin C content, pH of the fruit juice, moisture loss and firmness of fruits. The economic feasibility was made considering yield, value and cost of production, net profit, cost and the benefit/cost ratio. Analysis of variance and multiple comparisons of means were made (Tukey HSD p= 0.05). The juice pH did not show significant differences between Liplant® concentrations. Height, stem diameter, number of fruits, polar and equatorial diameter, fresh and dry fruit weight, yield, fruit firmness, total soluble solids, vitamin C and fruit moisture loss showed higher values when the plants were sprayed with the dilution of Liplant® 1/30 (v/v). The dilution of 1/30 (v/v) of Liplant® generated a benefit of $36 753.9 thousand Cuban pesos per hectare, a benefit/cost of $3.6 Cuban pesos and a cost per weight of $0.21.

Resumen La aplicación de sustancias húmicas, estimula mecanismos bioquímicos, fisiológicos, se han realizado investigaciones que revelan las propiedades y funciones de estas sustancias. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar el efecto de diferentes concentraciones de Liplant® aplicadas vía foliar (1/10, 1/20, 1/30 v/v y un control-agua destilada-) en el crecimiento, producción y calidad de fruto de tomate, y factibilidad económica. Realizándose bajo condiciones de campo y utilizando un diseño de bloques completos al azar, 5 días después del trasplante se midió altura, diámetro de tallo; 65 días después, se consideró peso fresco y seco de frutos, diámetro polar y ecuatorial, número de frutos, rendimiento, acidez titulable, sólidos solubles totales, índice madurez, contenido de vitamina C, pH del jugo del fruto, pérdida de humedad y firmeza de frutos. La factibilidad económica se realizó considerando rendimiento, valor y costo de producción, beneficio neto, costo y la relación beneficio/costo. Se realizaron análisis de varianza y comparaciones múltiples de medias (Tukey HSD p= 0.05). El pH de jugo no mostró diferencias significativas entre concentraciones de Liplant®. Altura, diámetro del tallo, número de frutos, diámetro polar y ecuatorial, peso fresco y seco de frutos, rendimiento, firmeza de fruto, sólidos solubles totales, vitamina C y pérdida de humedad de fruto mostraron valores superiores cuando las plantas se asperjaron con la dilución de Liplant® de 1/30 (v/v). La dilución de 1/30 (v/v) de Liplant® generó un beneficio de $36 753.9 miles de pesos cubanos por hectárea, un beneficio/costo de $3.6 pesos cubanos y un costo por peso de $0.21.
