ABSTRACT: The present study evaluated the effect of increasing levels of wet brewery residue (WBR) as a source of roughage on nutrient intake, performance and ingestive behaviour in lambs finished in confinement. Thirty-two uncastrated male lambs were used, weaned at 50 days of age. The treatments comprised increasing levels of WBR as roughage in the diet: 31, 44, 57 and 70%, on a dry-matter. The concentrate consisted of disintegrated corn, soybean meal, calcitic limestone and mineral salt. There was a quadratic effect (P ≤ 0.05) from the increasing levels of WBR on the intake of DM, OM, CP and TCH. The intake of EE, NDF and ADF increased linearly (P ≤ 0.01), while TDN intake showed a linear reduction (P < .0001) for increases in the level of WBR. There was a quadratic effect (P ≤ 0.010) on the average daily weight gain (ADG) from the addition of WBR to the diet. The time spent on feeding and rumination (P ≤ 0.05), expressed in minutes, showed a linear increase. Feeding rate for DM showed decreasing linear behaviour (P ≤ 0.006), while NDF rumination rate showed increasing linear behaviour (P ≤ 0.013) due to the increased levels of WBR in the diet. There was a linear increase in the time spent on each feeding activity (P ≤ 0.007) with the increase in WBR in the diet. Maximum weight gain is achieved when 46.9% WBR is used as a source of roughage in the diet, and this level can be recommended for terminating lambs in confinement.

RESUMO: O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar o efeito de níveis crescentes de resíduo úmido de cervejaria (RUC) como fonte de volume sobre o consumo de nutrientes, desempenho e comportamento ingestivo de cordeiros terminados em confinamento. Foram utilizados 32 cordeiros machos não castrados, desmamados aos 50 dias de idade. Os tratamentos consistiram em níveis crescentes de RUC como volumoso na dieta: 31, 44, 57 e 70%, na matéria seca. O concentrado consistia em milho desintegrado, farelo de soja, calcário calcítico e sal mineral. Houve efeito quadrático (P ≤ 0,05) dos níveis crescentes de RUC sobre o consumo de MS, MO, PB e CHT. O consumo de EE, FDN e FDA aumentou linearmente (P < .0001), enquanto o consumo de NDT apresentou redução linear (P < .0001) para aumentos no nível de WBR. Houve um efeito quadrático (P ≤ 0,010) no ganho de peso médio diário (GMD) da adição de RUC à dieta. O tempo gasto com alimentação e ruminação (P ≤ 0,05) e para mastigação total (P ≤ 0,003), expresso em minutos, apresentou aumento linear. A taxa de alimentação para MS apresentou comportamento linear decrescente (P ≤ 0,006), enquanto a taxa de ruminação da FDN apresentou comportamento linear crescente (P ≤ 0,013) devido ao aumento dos níveis de RUC na dieta. Houve aumento linear no tempo gasto em cada atividade alimentar (P ≤ 0,007) com o aumento da RUC na dieta. O ganho de peso máximo é alcançado quando 46,9% de RUC é usado como fonte de volumoso na dieta, e este nível pode ser recomendado para cordeiros terminados em confinamento.

ABSTRACT The project ‘One Health in the Pantanal: society’s participation in the emergency surveillance of zoonoses emergency as a post-fire effect in the territory and the formation of integrated strategies’ aimed to integrate institutional representations and local society; expand the use of Wildlife Health Information System (SISS-Geo) for fauna monitoring; identify priority areas for zoonosis surveillance and build paths involving One Health (OH). A webinar was held, highlighting the need for broader events with the participation of leaders in each of the chosen territories. Seminars and workshops were held in the states of Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), with the participation of health service managers from the Province of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and Mato Grosso. The representation of different segments at the events enabled the articulation of citizens and local managers. In traditional communities, it was possible to address the impacts of the fires and provide the opportunity for these people to express their health priorities and demands, before and after the fires. The Synthesis Workshop held in Corumbá, MS allowed the feedback of results and integration with representatives from different institutions in Brazil and Bolivia, and prospecting and prioritization of illnesses to be incorporated into the OH model for the Pantanal and western border of Brazil.

RESUMO O projeto ‘Saúde Única no Pantanal: participação da sociedade na vigilância de emergência de zoonoses como efeito pós-incêndios no território e formação de estratégias integradas’ objetivou integrar representações institucionais e da sociedade local; ampliar o uso do Sistema de Informação em Saúde Silvestre (SISS-Geo) para o monitoramento da fauna; identificar áreas prioritárias para vigilância de zoonoses e construir caminhos envolvendo a Saúde Única (SU). Realizou webinário, apontando a necessidade de eventos mais amplos com a participação de lideranças em cada um dos territórios escolhidos. Foram executados seminários e oficinas nos estados de Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), com a participação de gestores do serviço de saúde da Província de Santa Cruz, Bolívia, e de Mato Grosso. A representatividade dos diferentes segmentos nos eventos possibilitou a articulação de cidadãos e gestores locais. Nas comunidades tradicionais, foi possível abordar os impactos dos incêndios e dar oportunidade para que essas pessoas manifestassem suas prioridades e demandas de saúde, antes e depois dos incêndios. A Oficina Síntese realizada em Corumbá, MS possibilitou a devolutiva dos resultados e a integração com representantes de diferentes instituições do Brasil e da Bolívia, além da prospecção e priorização de enfermidades a serem incorporadas em modelo de SU para o Pantanal e fronteira oeste do Brasil.

Abstract The aim is to determine the prevalence of sarcopenia components and associations with socioeconomic variables in older persons living in rural areas in the state of Ceará, Brazil. We conducted a cross-sectional study with 274 older adults. Muscle mass was assessed using muscle mass index (MMI), measured by bioelectrical impedance analysis and calf circumference. Muscle strength (MS) was assessed using the handgrip test. Physical performance was measured using the walk test to calculate gait speed (GS) and the timed up-and-go test. Probable sarcopenia was defined as the presence of low MS, while confirmed sarcopenia was defined as the presence of low MS and low MMI. Severe sarcopenia was defined as the presence of the latter two criteria and slow GS. We tested for associations between sociodemographic characteristics and lifestyle habits and the components of sarcopenia. The logistic regression produced the following results: i) prevalence of low MS was higher among men, individuals aged >69 years, and in those not working at the time of the study; ii) the prevalence of low MMI was higher in individuals aged >69 years, those not living with a spouse, and those with an inadequate level of physical activity; iii) the prevalence of slow GS was higher in individuals aged >69 years, those who had lived in rural areas for less than 30 years, and those not working at the time of the study.

Resumo O objetivo é estimar prevalência de componentes da sarcopenia e associações com variáveis socioeconômicas em idosos de população rural do Ceará. Estudo transversal com 274 idosos. Massa muscular foi determinada por Índice de Massa Muscular (IMM) por bioimpedância elétrica e por circunferência da panturrilha; força muscular (FM) por teste de preensão palmar; e desempenho físico por testes da caminhada (VC) e Timed-up-and-go. Provável sarcopenia foi caracterizada por diminuição da FM, sarcopenia quando associada a diminuição do IMM, e sarcopenia grave quando estes dois foram acompanhados de baixa VC. Foram estimadas associações entre condições sociodemográficas, hábitos de vida e componentes da sarcopenia. Na regressão logística, foi observada frequência mais elevada: i) no sexo masculino, idade>69 anos, e nos que não trabalham, entre os idosos com FM diminuída; ii) com idade>69 anos, nos que não moram com o cônjuge, e nos que não praticam atividade física num nível adequado, entre os idosos com IMM diminuído; iii) com idade>69 anos, nos que residem na zona rural há menos que 30 anos, e nos que não trabalham, entre os idosos com VC diminuída.

Resumen El objetivo fue evaluar la calidad del henolaje del pasto Tanzania (Panicum maximum) con diferentes contenidos de materia seca y un almacenamiento de 90 días, a través de la composición química, cuantificación de gases, ácidos grasos volátiles, perfil microbiológico, estabilidad aeróbica, pH y nitrógeno amoniacal. El diseño experimental utilizado fue completamente al azar con cuatro tratamientos y cinco repeticiones. Los tratamientos consistían de cuatro contenidos de materia seca (MS) de la planta en el momento de la producción del henolaje del pasto Tanzania siendo: en materia fresca (sin deshidratación), 400, 500 y 600 g kg-1 de MS (deshidratados en pleno sol). El tratamiento con 600 g kg-1 de MS de la planta proporcionó la mayor estimación (p < 0,01) de MS en el henolaje con 581,6 ± 15,4 g/kg, y el mayor (p < 0,01) contenido de carbohidratos solubles con 45,4 ± 1,24 g/kg MS. Después de 90 días de almace namiento, el tratamiento en materia fresca presentó mayores (p < 0,01) cantidades de O2 en el interior de los fardos. En relación al CO2 los mayores índices fueron observados para los tratamientos con 500 y 600 g kg-1 de MS. También se observó el mayor (p < 0,01) contenido de ácido acético en los tratamientos materia fresca y con 500 y 600 g kg-1 de MS de la planta, con 36,4 ± 1,6, 38,2 ± 1,6 y 48,9 ± 1,6 g kg-1 de MS, respectivamente. Para el ácido butírico se obtuvo la mejor (p < 0,01) valoración de 27,0 ± 0,5 g kg-1 de MS en el tratamiento en materia fresca. El tratamiento con 600 g kg-1 de MS mostró mayor (p < 0,01) valor de pH en la hora cero con 6,36 ± 0,03. El tratamiento en materia fresca presentó mayor valor de N-NH3 en la hora cero de exposición al aire con 4,65 ± 0,12. El pasto Tanzania con 500 y 600 g kg-1 de MS, presenta el henolaje de mejor calidad.

Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the quality of Tanzania grass (Panicum maximum) haylage with varying contents of dry matter (DM) and stored for 90 days. The quality of this grass was evaluated through the lens of a variety of physiochemical properties (e.g., chemical composition, aerobic stability, pH, microbial profile, etc.). A completely randomized design was used with four treatments (in natura, 400, 500, and 600 g kg-1 DM) and five replicates. Treatment with 600 g kg-1 DM yielded the highest DM haylage (p < 0.01) and soluble carbohydrate content (p < 0.01). Treatment in natura resulted in the highest O2 concentration inside the bales (p < 0.01), whereas treatments with 500 and 600 g kg-1 DM resulted in the highest CO2 values. The highest acetic acid concentrations of 36.4 ± 1.6, 38.2±1.6, and 48.9 ± 1.6 g kg-1 DM (p < 0.01) were observed post the in natura, 500 g kg-1 DM, and 600 g kg-1 DM treatments, respectively. Treatment with 600 g kg-1 DM yielded the highest pH value at hour zero (p < 0.01). Tanzania grass with 500 and 600 g kg-1 DM produced the highest quality haylage.

ABSTRACT Cenostigma pyramidale [Tul.] has timber, forage and medicinal uses, and due to the exploitation of its natural resources, it may become endangered. This work aimed to induce callus in Cenostigma pyramidale and to identify the embryogenic potential by histomorphological and biochemical analysis. Leaf segments were inoculated in MS culture medium containing different concentrations (0.0; 2.5; 5.0 and 10.0 μM) of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), combined with 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP; 0.0; 2.5 and 5.0 μM) and glutamine (0.0; 0.342 and 0.684 mM). The growth curve was performed at 7-day intervals until day 77, and samples were collected for histomorphological analysis and determination of reducing sugars (RA), sucrose, and total soluble sugars (TSS) content. Callus induction is possible using leaf segments in treatment with 5.0 μM of BAP, 7.0 µM of 2.4-D and 0.684 mM of glutamine. The growth curve shows sigmoidal behavior with five distinct phases: lag, exponential, linear, deceleration and decline. It was verified the presence of cells with meristematic characteristics from the 7th day of induction, suggesting that the calli have embryogenic potential. However, differentiation of somatic embryos was not observed. There was a reduction in RA content and increase in AST and sucrose during the lag phase and beginning of the exponential phase, followed by degradation in the exponential phase until the decline phase, showing the involvement of these carbohydrates with callus growth. These results are unprecedented for the species and suggest future studies related to callus maturation aiming the differentiation of somatic embryos.

RESUMO Cenostigma pyramidale [Tul.] possui utilização madeireira, forrageira e medicinal e, em virtude da exploração de seus recursos naturais, pode acabar em via de extinção. Este trabalho objetivou induzir calos em Cenostigma pyramidale e identificar o potencial embriogênico por análises histomorfológica e bioquímica. Segmentos foliolares foram inoculados em meio de cultura MS contendo diferentes concentrações (0,0; 2,5; 5,0 e 10,0 μM) de ácido 2,4-diclorofenoxiacético (2,4-D), combinadas com 6-benzilaminopurina (BAP; 0,0; 2,5 e 5,0 μM) e glutamina (0,0; 0,342 e 0,684 mM). A curva de crescimento foi realizada em intervalos de 7 dias, até o 77º dia, sendo coletadas amostras para análise histomorfológica e determinação do conteúdo de açúcares redutores (AR), sacarose e açúcares solúveis totais (AST). É possível a indução de calos utilizando segmentos foliolares no tratamento com 5,0 μM de BAP, 7,0 µM de 2,4-D e 0,684 mM de glutamina. A curva de crescimento apresenta comportamento sigmoidal com cinco fases distintas: lag, exponencial, linear, desaceleração e declínio. Verificou-se a presença de células com características meristemáticas a partir do 7º dia de indução, sugerindo que os calos possuem potencial embriogênico. Porém, não se observou a diferenciação de embriões somáticos. Verificaram-se redução no conteúdo de AR e aumento de AST e sacarose durante a fase lag e início da fase exponencial, seguido de degradação na fase exponencial até a fase de declínio, mostrando o envolvimento destes carboidratos com o crescimento dos calos. Esses resultados são inéditos para a espécie e sugerem estudos futuros relacionados à maturação dos calos visando a diferenciação de embriões somáticos.

Abstract In vitro flowering is a technique used in genetic improvement that accelerates generations and favors the faster fixation of new traits of agronomic and market interest. The study aimed to establish a protocol for the in vitro flowering of Dendrobium nobile, through the combined temperature and of the growth regulator thidiazuron (TDZ) effects. Experiments was performed in a flask that was kept in a BOD incubator at 18, 21, or 24 °C or in a growth room at 26 °C. The TDZ concentrations were 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 mg L-1. The highest percentage of flowering shoots of 13.7% occurred at a concentration of 2 mg L-1 of TDZ grown at a temperature of 18 °C. Dendrobium nobile in vitro flowering was promoted in plants cultivated in ½ MS supplemented with 30 g L-1 sucrose, 5.5 g L-1 agar, 100 mL L-1 coconut water, pH 6.0, and 2.0 mg L-1 TDZ at a controlled temperature of 18 °C and a photoperiod of 16 h. The in vitro flowering induction protocol of the D. nobile species could be used or improved for future studies.

Resumo A floração in vitro é uma técnica utilizada no melhoramento genético que acelerar gerações e favorecer a fixação mais rápida de novos caracteres de interesse agronômico e do mercado. O estudo visou estabelecer um protocolo para a floração in vitro de Dendrobium nobile, através dos efeitos combinados de temperatura e do regulador de crescimento thidiazuron (TDZ). Os experimentos foram realizados em incubadora tipo BOD a 18, 21, 24 °C e, em sala de crescimento a 26 °C. As concentrações de TDZ testadas foram de 0,0, 0,5, 1,0 e 2,0 mg L-1. A maior porcentagem de brotos floridos de 13,70% ocorreu na concentração de 2 mg L-1 de TDZ cultivados em temperatura de 18 °C. O florescimento in vitro de D. nobile foi promovido em plantas cultivadas em ½ MS suplementadas com 30 g L-1 de sacarose, 5,5 g L-1 de ágar, 100 mL L-1 de água de coco, pH 6,0 e 2,0 mg L-1 de TDZ em temperatura controlada de 18 °C e fotoperíodo de 16 h. O protocolo de indução de florescimento in vitro da espécie D. nobile poderá ser utilizado ou aprimorado para estudos futuros.

Abstract Musculoskeletal symptoms (MS) can derive from injuries or dysfunctions that affect biological tissues such as muscles, bones, and nerves, among others. Military Firefighters (MF) exercise their activities exposed to varied and complex biological conditions, in which the physical demands are intense. Shift work is another remarkable characteristic of the career, which is associated with sleep disorders. Our objective was to estimate the association between the risk of chronification of MS and sleep quality in MF with MS. Our study is a Cross-Sectional Observational Study, whose sample was composed of 753 BM from the Federal District. The analysis was performed with a Sample Characterization Questionnaire, Örebro Musculoskeletal Symptoms Screening Questionnaire (OMPSQ) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), answered remotely. Statistical analysis used the Spearman Correlation test, p<0.05. The correlation between OMPSQ and PSQI was rated moderate, demonstrating that sleep quality has an influence on the chronification process. The average of the evaluation of Sleep Quality through the PSQI is 8.79, indicating that military personnel present a deficient quality of sleep. There was a correlation between the PSQI score and the OMPSQ of 0.542 (p<0.001), a moderate correlation between the variables. We conclude that MF show correlation between SM and sleep quality, indicating a moderate relationship between the variables, where sleep quality explains 25% of SM. We found that most MF were classified as Low Risk for chronification of SM.

Resumo Os sintomas musculoesqueléticos (SM) podem derivar de lesões ou disfunções que afetam tecidos biológicos como músculos, ossos, nervos, entre outros. Os Bombeiros Militares (BM) exercem suas atividades expostos a condições biológicas variadas e complexas, nas quais as demandas físicas são intensas. O trabalho em turno é outra característica marcante na carreira, o qual está associado a distúrbios do sono. Nosso objetivo foi estimar a associação entre o risco de cronificação de SM e a qualidade do sono em BM com SM. Nosso estudo é um Estudo Observacional Transversal, cuja amostra foi composta por 753 BM do Distrito Federal. A análise foi realizada com um Questionário de Caracterização Amostral, Questionário Örebro de Triagem de Sintomas Musculoesqueléticos (OMPSQ) e com o Índice de Qualidade do Sono de Pittsburgh (PSQI), respondidos remotamente. A análise estatística utilizou o teste de Correlação Spearman, p<0,05. A correlação entre OMPSQ e PSQI foi classificada em moderada, demonstrando que a qualidade do sono apresenta influência no processo de cronificação. A média da avaliação da Qualidade do Sono através do PSQI é de 8,79, indicando que militares apresentam uma qualidade do sono deficitária. Houve correlação entre a pontuação no PSQI e o OMPSQ de 0,542 (p<0.001), correlação moderada entre as variáveis. Concluímos que os BM apresentam correlação entre os SM e a qualidade do sono, indicando uma relação moderada entre as variáveis, onde a qualidade de sono explica 25% dos SM. Verificamos que a maioria dos BM foram classificados como Baixo Risco de cronificação de SM.

RESUMO A esclerose múltipla (EM) é a doença desmielinizante mais comum do sistema nervoso central. A cognição não é rotineiramente avaliada nos pacientes apesar da ocorrência frequente de queixas ou disfunção cognitivas. Objetivo: Comparar o perfil de pacientes com EM com controles pareados por idade, sexo e escolaridade e investigar a potencial influência de parâmetros clínicos na cognição. Métodos: Trinta e cinco pacientes com EM (idade média±desvio padrão [DP] 37,9 anos±11,44, H/M: 12/23) e 33 controles saudáveis (idade média±DP 38,8 anos±12,6, H/M: 12/21) foram incluídos neste estudo. Todos os participantes passaram por avaliação clínica estruturada e por testagem cognitiva com os seguintes instrumentos: Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test (PASAT), Symbol Digit Modalities Test (SDMT), Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT), Digit Span e testes de fluências verbais (letras F, A e S e categoria-animais). A psicopatologia foi investigada com a Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview e com o Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). A Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) foi aplicada nos pacientes. Resultados: Pacientes tiveram desempenho pior que os controles na maioria dos testes — 70% deles tiveram déficit cognitivo. A função cognitiva mais frequentemente afetada foi memória episódica (45,7%), seguida por fluência verbal (42,8%) e velocidade de processamento (22,8%). A pontuação no SDMT correlacionou-se inversamente com a gravidade da doença, medida pela EDSS. A depressão não influenciou o desempenho cognitivo nesta série de pacientes. Conclusões: Declínio cognitivo é comum em pacientes com EM. Enquanto o déficit motor se associou com a velocidade de processamento, a depressão não influenciou o desempenho cognitivo.

ABSTRACT Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common demyelinating disease of the central nervous system. Cognition is not routinely assessed in patients with MS though they frequently have cognitive complaints or dysfunction. Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the cognitive status of patients with MS with age, sex, and schooling matched controls and to evaluate the potential influence of clinical parameters on cognition. Methods: A total of 35 patients with MS (mean±SD age 37.9 years±11.44, M/F: 12/23) and 33 healthy controls (mean±SD age 38.8 years±12.6, M/F: 12/21) were enrolled in this study. All subjects underwent a structured clinical assessment and the cognitive tools are as follows: Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test (PASAT), Symbol Digit Modalities Test (SDMT), Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT), Digit Span, and Verbal Fluency Tests (letters F, A, and S and animal category). Psychopathology was assessed with the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview and the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). The Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) was used for patients. Results: Patients performed worse than controls in almost all tests, with approximately 70% of patients presenting cognitive impairment. The most affected cognitive domain was episodic memory (45.7%), followed by verbal fluency (42.8%) and information processing speed (22.8%). SDMT was inversely correlated with disease severity, as assessed by the EDSS. Depression did not influence cognitive performance in this cohort. Conclusions: Cognitive dysfunction is common among patients with MS. While motor impairment was associated with information processing speed, depression did not influence cognitive performance.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Heart rate control by the autonomic nervous system (ANS) is impaired in heart transplant (HT) recipients, leading to increased resting heart rate, metabolic demand, and fatigue, which can impair their quality of life (QoL). In this study, we hypothesized the association of hemodynamics and autonomic function as predictors of QoL in HT recipients. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study conducted with HT recipients aged ≥ 18 years at ambulatorial accompaniment. Blood pressure was used for hemodynamics assessment, and heart rate variability (HRV) was used for ANS assessment. QoL was assessed by the 36-item Short Form Health Survey. The significance level was set as P≤0.05. Results: Twenty-two volunteers were included in the study. Systolic blood pressure (SBP) and double product (DP) were significantly negatively associated with the physical functioning domain of QoL. DP, the number of consecutive normal RR interval differences > 50 ms (NN50), and the percentage of normal RR intervals that differed by > 50 ms from the adjacent interval (PNN50) exhibited negative association with the physical role domain. NN50 and PNN50 were significantly associated with bodily pain, social functioning, and emotional role domains. SBP was negatively associated with the vitality domain. Considering general and mental health domains, no variable demonstrated significant association. DP, NN50, and PNN50 were negatively associated with the total score of QoL. Conclusion: This study demonstrated DP and HRV as predictors of QoL in HT recipients. These innovative results can become a relevant therapeutic target for improving QoL in HT recipients prior to its deterioration.

RESUMO Este ensaio apresenta as relações entre Marketing Social (MS) e Ecossistemas de Negócio (EN), buscando contribuir para a integração destas áreas de conhecimento e argumentando que a aplicação da análise de ecossistemas pode ser um instrumento valioso no desenvolvimento de estratégias de Marketing Social mais eficientes. Por meio de uma avaliação reflexiva realizada a partir de investigação crítica do estado da arte, orientada pela busca por pontos comuns entre MS e EN, expuseram-se elementos de convergência entre tais assuntos, principalmente os de natureza organizacional, empresarial, social e comunitária. Consolidando-se um quadro contendo particularidades do MS e contribuições de EN, elencaram-se quatro proposições, permitindo constatar que organizações que realizem planejamentos de MS poderão conceber estratégias derivadas do mapeamento da estrutura da rede composta pelo ecossistema a que pertencem, beneficiando-se das trocas de recursos e de influências entre stakeholders e outros participantes.

This essay presents the relationship between Social Marketing (SM) and Business Ecosystems (BE), seeking to contribute to the integration of these areas of knowledge and arguing that the application of ecosystem analysis can be a valuable tool in the development of more efficient Social Marketing strategies. Through a reflective evaluation carried out from a critical investigation of the state of art, guided by the search for common points between SM and BE, elements of convergence between such subjects were exposed, mainly those of an organizational, business, social and community nature. Consolidating a framework containing SM particularities and BE contributions, four propositions were listed, finding that organizations that implement SM planning are able to devise strategies from the mapping of the network structure composed by the ecosystem to which they belong, benefiting from the exchanges of resources and influences between stakeholders and other participants.

Este ensayo presenta la relación entre el Marketing Social (MS) y los Ecosistemas de Negocios (EN), buscando contribuir a la integración de estas áreas de conocimiento y argumentando que la aplicación del análisis de ecosistemas puede ser una herramienta valiosa en el desarrollo de estrategias de Marketing Social más eficientes. A través de una evaluación reflexiva realizada a partir de una investigación crítica del estado del arte, guiada por la búsqueda de puntos en común entre MS y EN, se expusieron elementos de convergencia entre estos temas, principalmente los de carácter organizacional, empresarial, social y comunitario. Consolidando un marco que contiene las particularidades y contribuciones de MS y EN, se enumeraron cuatro proposiciones, que muestran que las organizaciones que realizan la planificación del MS podrán concebir estrategias derivadas del mapeo de la estructura de red compuesta por el ecosistema al que pertenecen, beneficiándose de los intercambios de recursos y influencias entre los stakeholders y otros participantes.

RESUMO A hemiparesia e a espasticidade são consequências comuns em pacientes que sofreram um acidente vascular cerebral (AVC) e delas decorre a dificuldade do paciente de movimentar o hemicorpo acometido. O objetivo deste estudo foi, assim, verificar a relação da espasticidade no membro superior (MS) com a capacidade de movimentação da mão desses pacientes, a partir de um estudo transversal de delineamento ex-post facto correlacional. Foram avaliados pacientes que realizavam acompanhamento no Ambulatório Neurovascular do Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (HCPA). Foi preenchida uma ficha de avaliação com dados da amostra e realizada a avaliação da espasticidade do MS, por meio da escala de Ashworth modificada (MAS), e da movimentação ativa da mão, por meio da escala de movimentação da mão (EMM). Para a correlação das variáveis, foi usado o coeficiente de correlação tau de Kendall, adotando-se um nível de significação de 5% (p≤0,05). Foram avaliados 47 sujeitos de ambos os sexos com média de idade de 64,5 (±13) anos e média de tempo de AVC de 2,7 (±1,8) meses. A moda da EMM foi de 6 pontos e 74,4% dos pacientes não eram espásticos. O movimento da mão apresentou correlação significativa negativa com as musculaturas espásticas avaliadas. Houve uma correlação negativa moderada com as musculaturas peitoral (r=−0,383; p=0,007), os flexores de cotovelo (r=−0,339; p=0,016) e pronadores (r=−0,460; p=0,001), e correlação negativa alta com os flexores de punho (r=−0,588; p<0,001) e os flexores de dedos (r=−0,692; p<0,001). Concluiu-se que quanto maior o grau de espasticidade do membro superior, menor a capacidade de movimentação da mão dos pacientes.

ABSTRACT Hemiparesis and spasticity are common consequences in stroke patients, hampering the movement in the affected side. Our study aimed to correlate upper limb spasticity and the ability to move the hand in these patients. This is a quantitative cross-sectional study with an ex post facto correlational design. We evaluated patients undergoing follow-up at the Neurovascular Outpatient Clinic at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre. An evaluation form was filled out with sample data and the upper limb spasticity was evaluated using the Modified Ashworth Scale and the active hand movement using the Hand Movement Scale. Correlation of variables were verified using Kendall’s rank correlation coefficient. A significance level of 5% (p≤0.05) was adopted. In total, we evaluated 47 subjects of all genders, with a mean age of 64.5 (±13) years and a mean stroke time of 2.7 (±1.8) months. The Hand movement Scale mode was 6 points, and 74.4% of patients were not spastic. Hand movement showed a significant negative correlation with the spastic muscles evaluated. There was a moderate negative correlation with the pectoral muscles (r=−0.383; p=0.007), elbow flexors (r=−0.339; p=0.016) and pronators (r=−0.460; p=0.001) and high negative correlation with wrist flexors (r=−0.588; p<0.001) and finger flexors (r=−0.692; p<.001). The greater the degree of spasticity of the upper limb, the smaller the hand movement capacity in stroke patients.

RESUMEN La hemiparesia y la espasticidad en los pacientes son consecuencias frecuentes del accidente cerebrovascular (ACV), lo que resulta en la dificultad del paciente para mover el hemicuerpo afectado. El objetivo de este estudio fue verificar la relación entre la espasticidad en el miembro superior (MS) y la capacidad de mover la mano de estos pacientes a partir de un estudio transversal, con un diseño correlacional ex post facto. Se evaluaron a pacientes en seguimiento en el Ambulatorio de Neurovascular del Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (HCPA), en Brasil. El formulario de evaluación se utilizó para recoger los datos de la muestra, y para el análisis de la espasticidad del MS se aplicó la escala de Ashworth modificada (MAS), y el movimiento activo de la mano, la escala de movimiento de la mano (EMM). Para la correlación de variables se utilizó el coeficiente de correlación tau de Kendall, con un nivel de significación del 5% (p≤0,05). Se evaluaron a 47 personas de ambos sexos, con una edad media de 64,5 (±13) años y un tiempo medio del ACV de 2,7 (±1,8) meses. La moda de EMM fue de 6 puntos, y el 74,4% de los pacientes no eran espásticos. El movimiento de la mano mostró una correlación negativa significativa con las musculaturas espásticas evaluadas. Hubo una moderada correlación negativa con la musculatura pectoral (r=−0,383; p=0,007), los flexores del codo (r=−0,339; p=0,016) y pronadores (r=−0,460; p=0,001), y una alta correlación negativa con los flexores de muñeca (r=−0,588; p<0,001) y los flexores de dedos (r=−0,692; p<0,001). Se concluyó que cuanto mayor es el grado de espasticidad del miembro superior, menor será la capacidad de movimiento de las manos de los pacientes.

RESUMO: Nas regiões secas mundiais, fornecer alimentos para ruminantes tem sido um grande desafio, havendo necessidade de utilizar plantas que contribuam para a resiliência dos sistemas de produção. A maniçoba é vista como um potencial recurso forrageiro no semiárido brasileiro, sendo utilizada como feno ou silagem para alimentação de ruminantes. O objetivo desta revisão foi sumarizar os resultados quanto à produção de forragem da maniçoba, além do consumo de matéria seca (MS), desempenho produtivo e qualidade dos produtos de origem animal obtidos com dietas à base de maniçoba, quando comparados com dietas compostas por outros volumosos para caprinos e ovinos. Considerando os estudos avaliados, a produtividade média da maniçoba variou de 367 a 1.592 kg de MS ha-1, com aumento da produção de forragem pela maior fertilização da planta e densidade de plantio. As dietas à base de maniçoba promoveram resultados semelhantes ou superiores para ingestão de matéria seca e desempenho produtivo de caprinos e ovinos, quando comparadas às dietas compostas por outros recursos forrageiros. A qualidade dos produtos de origem animal também foi semelhante às proporcionadas por dietas à base de volumosos tradicionais, como feno Tifton 85 ou palma-forrageira. Portanto, a maniçoba apresenta produção de forragem que pode contribuir com os sistemas de produção de ruminantes em ambiente semiárido, e promover desempenho produtivo e qualidade dos produtos de origem animal compatíveis com as proporcionadas pelas forrageiras tradicionais.

ABSTRACT: In dry regions worldwide, providing feed for ruminants has been a great challenge, with a need to use plants which contribute to the resilience of production systems. Maniçoba is seen as a potential forage resource in the Brazilian semiarid, being used as hay or silage to feed ruminants. This review summarized results regarding forage production of maniçoba, in addition to dry matter (DM) intake, productive performance, and quality of animal products obtained providing maniçoba based diets, when compared to diets composed by other roughages for goats and sheep. Considering the evaluated studies, the average yield of maniçoba varied from 367 to 1,592 kg DM ha-1, enhancing the forage yield by increasing plant fertilization and planting density. Diets based on maniçoba promoted similar or higher intake of DM and productive performance for goats and sheep, when compared to diets comprising other forage resources. The quality of animal products was also similar to the ones obtained with diets based on traditional roughages, such as Tifton 85 hay or spineless cactus. Therefore, maniçoba allows a forage production that may contribute to ruminant production systems in semiarid environment and promote productive performance and animal product quality compatible to the ones provided by traditional forage plants.

RESUMO: Couropita guianensis Aubl. é uma espécie florestal de origem amazônica, de importância no uso medicinal e ornamental. O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar o efeito de diferentes meios de cultivo e espectros de luz na germinação e desenvolvimento in vitro de embriões zigóticos de Couropita guianensis. Os meios de cultura avaliados foram o MS e o WPM, sem adição de reguladores de crescimento, associados a quatro espectros de luz de LED branca (CW), 70% vermelha + 30% azul (R2B), 100% vermelha (R) e 100% azul (B). Ocorreu 100% de germinação in vitro e os meios de cultivo não interferiram no desenvolvimento dos embriões. Os diferentes espectros de luz induziram a morfogênese in vitro e o tratamento R2B promoveu a produção de raízes secundárias em número significativo. Este efeito poderá auxiliar no processo de enraizamento e aclimatização de mudas dessa espécie.

ABSTRACT: Couroupita guianensis Aubl. is an Amazonian forest species with important medicinal and ornamental value. This study evaluated the effect of different culture media and light spectra on the in vitro germination and development of the zygotic embryos of C. guianensis. The culture media, MS and WPM, were evaluated without the addition of plant growth regulators and were associated with four LED light spectra: white (CW), 70% red + 30% blue (R2B), 100% red (R), and 100% blue (B). One hundred percent of the seeds successfully underwent in vitro germination, and the culture media did not interfere with embryo development. In addition to this, the different light spectra induced in vitro morphogenesis and R2B treatment significantly promoted the production of secondary roots. This effect may aid in the rooting and acclimatization of seedlings of this species.

RESUMO Objetivo: validar a cartilha educativa para promoção do conhecimento sobre prevenção da Síndrome Metabólica em adolescentes. Método: quase experimento de séries temporais realizado em 2020 com 37 adolescentes de cinco escolas públicas da rede estadual de ensino de Picos-Piauí-Brasil. Foi realizado em duas fases: 1) desenvolvimento de roteiro de questões sobre prevenção da SM e sua validação de conteúdo por 17 especialistas; 2) quase-experimento com implementação de leitura da cartilha “Síndrome Metabólica: Como me prevenir?”, e avaliação do conhecimento dos adolescentes pré e pós-leitura via roteiro de questões. Para análise da validade de conteúdo do roteiro de questões calculou-se a Content Validity Ratio (CVR>0,529). Para investigar o efeito da cartilha educativa no conhecimento dos adolescentes utilizou-se o teste de McNemar (p<0,05). O estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética e Pesquisa da Universidade Federal do Piauí. Resultados: a CVR total do roteiro foi de 0,718, representando boa validação de conteúdo do roteiro de questões. Três assertivas foram eliminadas (CVR<0,529). Sobre o conhecimento dos adolescentes, 45,9% melhoraram seu conhecimento, sem diferença significativa (p=0,067). Conclusão: o conhecimento dos adolescentes foi maior em quase metade dos adolescentes no pós-teste, demonstrando que a leitura da cartilha educativa favoreceu o conhecimento sobre a prevenção da Síndrome Metabólica.

ABSTRACT Objective: to validate an educational booklet for the promotion of knowledge about the prevention of Metabolic Syndrome in adolescents. Method: a time series quasi-experiment conducted in 2020 with 37 adolescents from five public schools belonging to the teaching state network of Picos, Piauí, Brazil. It was conducted in two phases: 1) development of a script of questions about the prevention of MS and its content validation by 17 experts; 2) quasi-experiment with reading of the booklet called “Síndrome Metabólica: Como me prevenir?” (“Metabolic Syndrome: How can I protect myself?”, and assessment of the adolescents' knowledge through a script of questions before and after reading the booklet. To analyze content validity of the script of questions, the Content Validity Ratio was calculated (CVR>0.529). The McNemar test (p<0.05) was used to investigate the effect of the educational booklet on the adolescents' knowledge. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Universidade Federal do Piauí. Results: the script of question's overall CVR was 0.718, representing good content validation. Three assertions were removed (CVR<0.529). Regarding the adolescents' knowledge, 45.9% improved it, with no significant difference (p=0.067). Conclusion: the adolescents' knowledge was higher in almost half of the participants in the post-test, showing that reading the educational booklet favored knowledge about the prevention of Metabolic Syndrome.

RESUMEN Objetivo: validar el cuadernillo educativo para promover el conocimiento sobre la prevención del Síndrome Metabólico entre adolescentes. Método: cuasi experimento de series temporales realizado en 2020 con 37 adolescentes de cinco escuelas públicas pertenecientes a la red estatal de enseñanza de Picos, Piauí, Brasil. Se realizó en dos fases: 1) desarrollo del guion de preguntas sobre prevención del SM y su validación de contenido a cargo de 17 especialistas; 2) cuasiexperimento con lectura del cuadernillo “Síndrome Metabólica: Como me prevenir?” (“Síndrome Metabólico: ¿Cómo puedo protegerme?”), y evaluación del conocimiento de los adolescentes antes y después de la lectura a través del guion de preguntas. Para analizar la validez del contenido del guion de preguntas, se calculó la Relación de Validez de Contenido (Content Validity Ratio, CVR>0,529). Para investigar el efecto del cuadernillo educativo sobre el conocimiento de los adolescentes, se utilizó la prueba de McNemar (p<0,05). El estudio fue aprobado por el Comité de Ética e Investigación de la Universidade Federal do Piauí. Resultados: el CVR total del guion fue de 0,718, lo que representa buena validación del contenido del guion de preguntas. Se eliminaron tres afirmaciones (CVR<0,529). En relación con el conocimiento de los adolescentes, el 45,9% presentó mejoras, sin diferencias significativas (p=0,067). Conclusión: el conocimiento de los adolescentes fue superior en prácticamente la mitad de los participantes en el post-test, lo que demuestra que leer el cuadernillo educativo favoreció el conocimiento sobre la prevención del Síndrome Metabólico.
