RESUMO Introdução: A hospitalização e o repouso no leito, podem causar nos idosos um acentuado declínio funcional, independentemente da etiologia da doença aguda que determinou o internamento. Este é considerado um risco acrescido para esta faixa etária, pois pode afetar a funcionalidade e a qualidade de vida de forma irreversível. Este estudo tem como objetivos avaliar as alterações da capacidade funcional dos idosos durante o internamento e categorizar a variação ocorrida na capacidade funcional durante o internamento. Metodologia: Estudo observacional descritivo realizado num serviço de internamento de Medicina interna numa amostra de 20 idosos, com recurso ao Índice de Barthel, à escala Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB) e à Força de Preensão Palmar. Consideram-se dois momentos de avaliação: admissão e alta. Resultados: Em todos os parâmetros avaliados foi encontrado um decréscimo dos valores entre a primeira e a segunda avaliação sendo esta diferença estatisticamente significativa no Índice Barthel (p=0,006), na SPPB 3 (p=0,046), no score total da SPPB (p=0,05) e na Força de Preensão Manual (p=0,005). A diferença encontrada no score total da SPPB, em que 50% da amostra foi categorizada com incapacidade ou desempenho muito mau, é também clinicamente importante. Discussão: O valor médio encontrado no score total da SPPB na admissão indica risco relativo de incapacidade relacionada com a mobilidade. O valor médio encontrado no score total da SPPB na alta é descrito na literatura como indicador de alto risco de reinternamento ou morte. Conclusão: Os resultados evidenciam a necessidade de intervenção especializada de Enfermagem de Reabilitação junto desta população específica durante o internamento. A avaliação inicial permitirá identificar o risco de perda funcional durante o internamento e desenhar planos de intervenção personalizados.

RESUMEN Introducción: La hospitalización y el reposo en cama pueden causar una marcada disminución funcional en los ancianos, independientemente de la etiología de la enfermedad aguda que determinó la hospitalización. Esto se considera un mayor riesgo para este grupo de edad, ya que puede afectar la funcionalidad y la calidad de vida de manera irreversible. Este estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar los cambios en la capacidad funcional de los ancianos durante la hospitalización y clasificar la variación en la capacidad funcional durante la hospitalización. Metodología: Estudio observacional descriptivo realizado en pacientes hospitalizados en un servicio de medicina interna para en una muestra de 20 personas mayores, utilizando el Índice Barthel, la escala de batería de rendimiento físico corto ( SPPB ) y la fuerza de agarre de Palmar. Se consideraran dos momentos de evaluación: admisión y alta. Resultados: En todos los parámetros evaluados, se encontró una disminución en los valores entre la primera y la segunda evaluación, siendo esta diferencia estadísticamente significativa en el Índice Barthel (p=0,006), en SPPB 3 (p=0,046), en la puntuación total de la SPPB y en la fuerza de agarre manual (p=0,005). La diferencia encontrada en la puntuación total de la SPPB, en la que el 50% de la muestra se clasificó como incapacidad o muy bajo rendimiento, también es clínicamente importante. Discusión: El valor promedio encontrado en el puntaje total de SPPB en la admisión indica un riesgo relativo de discapacidad relacionado con la movilidad. El valor promedio encontrado en el puntaje total de SPPB al momento del alta se describe en la literatura como un indicador de alto riesgo de readmisión o muerte. Conclusión: Los resultados muestran la necesidad de una intervención especializada en enfermería de rehabilitación entre esta población específica durante la hospitalización. La evaluación inicial permitirá identificar el riesgo de pérdida funcional durante la hospitalización y diseñar planes de intervención personalizados.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Hospitalization and bed rest can cause a marked functional decline in the elderly, regardless of the etiology of the acute disease that determined hospitalization. This is considered an increased risk for this age group, as it can affect functionality and quality of life irreversibly. This study aims to assess changes in the functional capacity of the elderly during hospitalization and to categorize the variation in functional capacity during hospitalization. Methodology: Descriptive observational study carried out in an internal medicine inpatient service in a sample of 20 elderly people, using the Barthel Index, the Short Physical Performance Battery scale (SPPB) and the Handgrip strength. Two moments of evaluation were considered: admission and discharge. Results: In all parameters evaluated, a decrease in values was found between the first and the second evaluation, this difference being statistically significant in the Barthel Index (p=0,006), in SPPB 3 (p=0,046), in the total score of the SPPB (p=0,05) and in the handgrip strength (p=0,005). The difference found in the total score of the SPPB, in which 50% of the sample was categorized as incapacity or very poor performance, is also clinically important. Discussion: The results show the need for specialized Rehabilitation Nursing intervention among this specific population during hospitalization. The initial assessment will make it possible to identify the risk of functional loss during hospitalization and to design personalized intervention plans. Conclusion: The average value found in the total SPPB score at admission indicates a relative risk of disability related to mobility. The average value found in the total SPPB score at discharge is described in the literature as an indicator of high risk of readmission or death.

Asbtract Introduction This study aimed to determine whether cytokine receptor-like factor 2 (CRLF2) antigen expression evaluated using multiparametric flow cytometry (MFC) could predict the genotype of CRLF2 and Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) status for application in the diagnosis of pediatric B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (BCP-ALL). Methods A total of 321 BCP-ALL bone marrow samples were collected, 291 at diagnosis and 13 at first relapse, while 17 samples were excluded due to low cellular viability. The CRLF2 antigen expression was evaluated using flow cytometry (percentage of positivity and median fluorescence intensity [MFI]). The CRLF2 transcript levels were assessed via quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction using SYBR Green. The CRLF2 rearrangements (CRLF2-r) were identified using the CRLF2 break-apart probe via fluorescence in situ hybridization. Sanger sequencing was performed to identify the JAK2 exon 16 mutations. Results We observed that 60 of the 291 cases (20.6%) presented CRLF2 antigen positivity, whereas the CRLF2 transcript overexpression was found in 19 of 113 cases (16.8%). The JAK2 mutation was found in four out of 116 cases (3.4%), all of which had CRLF2 ≥10% of positive cells and intermediate or high MFI (p < 0.0001). In addition, in the 13 cases with the CRLF2-r, a positive correlation was found with the CRLF2 antigen intermediate (61.5%) MFI (p= 0.017). Finally, the CRLF2-positive antigen was identified in the BCP-ALL subclones. Conclusion The identification of the CRLF2 antigen using the MFC, based on the percentage of positivity and MFI values, is a useful tool for predicting JAK2 mutations and CRLF2-r.

SUMMARY Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is an endocrine disorder characterized by hypercalcaemia and elevated or inappropriately normal concentrations of parathyroid hormone. Remission of PHPT caused by infarction or hemorrhage of a parathyroid adenoma rarely occurs, either spontaneously or induced, not always leading to a definitive cure. We report a case of 72-year-old women with primary hyperparathyroidism who underwent fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) of a parathyroid adenoma mistaken for a thyroid nodule followed by normalization of parathyroid hormone (PTH) and serum calcium levels. Parathyroid origin was confirmed by immunohistochemistry. PTH levels began to rise at 4 months after FNAC demonstrating recurrence of the PHPT. This report shows that FNAC induced hemorrhage may cause remission of PHPT. Nevertheless, patient´s levels of PTH and serum calcium should be monitored, as remission may only be transitory.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate characteristics of the testicular parenchyma and vascular parameters of the pampiniform plexus obtained by ultrasound, semen quality parameters, and sperm freezability in Nellore bulls classified based on residual feed intake (RFI). Twenty-seven bulls (21.82±0.88 months of age) evaluated for feed efficiency were sampled for the study, including 15 with low RFI (−0.592±0.09 kg dry matter/day) and 12 with high RFI (0.792±0.10 kg dry matter/day). In ultrasound and Doppler assessment, the most efficient animals (low RFI) showed higher pulsatility and resistive indexes, as well as a tendency towards greater heterogeneity of the testicular parenchyma (0.625±0.032 vs. 0.508±0.032, 1.012±0.072 vs. 0.802±0.072, and 12.9±0.96 vs. 10.2±0.96, respectively, for low vs. high RFI). However, these animals tended to have lower peak diastolic velocity (5.19±0.50 for low RFI vs. 6.54±0.50 for high RFI). Analysis of fresh semen showed a lower percentage of minor defects in low RFI animals (2.67±1.19%) compared with high RFI animals (8.10±1.19%), without differences in the other parameters in fresh or thawed semen and after thermoresistance testing. Evaluation of flow cytometry parameters showed a higher quality of mitochondrial respiration in semen samples of low RFI animals (22.04±2.50%) compared with high RFI animals (12.29±2.71%). Therefore, although RFI exerts an effect on the Doppler parameters of the pampiniform plexus, it is not sufficient to affect the quality of fresh or thawed semen.

ABSTRACT Papaya (Carica papaya L.) is one of the most cultivated fruits in Brazil. Thus, increasing efforts to improve the crop efficiency have been carried out, being the study of quality seedling production of fundamental importance. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, in symbiosis with the root system of plants, can bring great improvements to the morphophysiological aspects of the papaya tree. The aim of this study was to evaluate the interaction of papaya seeds treated with AMF, in order to support management works on the crop. The experiment was installed in an agricultural greenhouse in a completely randomized design with three treatments: T0 – control (no inoculation); T1 - inoculation of seeds with Gigaspora rosea + Gigaspora margarita; and T2 - inoculation of seeds with Rhizophagus clarus, with 40 replicates, with each sowing cell being considered a replicate. Mycorrhizal colonization, seedling emergence and biometric indices at 60 days after sowing were evaluated. High symbiosis rate was observed between papaya seedlings with Rhizophagus clarus and Gigaspora rosea + Gigaspora margarita. Increase in the percentage and speed emergence and decrease in emergence time in relation to control was observed, in addition to increase in biometric characteristics of seedlings, evidencing its beneficial use for higher production.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, with an important and growing economic and social burden. The benefits of Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR) include better control of dyspnoea and major improvements in exercise capacity and health-related quality of life. The general objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of implementing a Pulmonary Rehabilitation program in Outpatients with COPD and with Follow-up at Home. Methodology: A quasi-experimental single-group, descriptive and correlational study. Participants will be subject to PR sessions 3 times a week in a total of 36 sessions, in the Health Center of the area of residence and teleconsultation, in a previously defined scheme. Evaluations will be carried out at the beginning of the intervention, at the 18th and 36th sessions and 6 and 12 weeks after the 36th session. Throughout the PR sessions, physical exercise plans will be developed, education about exacerbating factors and control of risk factors, respiratory functional re-education techniques and inhalotherapy training. Participants will be provided with a customized plan to be implemented at their home, with teleconsultation monitoring after the end of the PR program (12th week). Expected results: The aim is to achieve clinical and statistically significant improvements in the ability to perform ADL, in the quality of life, in the management of symptoms and the therapeutic regimen, in the ability to walk and in the reduction of costs associated with exacerbations. It is also intended to verify whether there are significant differences between the two modalities of implementation of the program. Conclusion: Through the planned intervention, it is expected to reach the end of 2023 with data that allow to optimize the response to the needs of people with COPD in the district of Bragança and highlight the value of the specialized intervention in Rehabilitation Nursing in Primary Health Care.

RESUMEN Introducción: La Enfermedad Pulmonar Obstructiva Crónica (EPOC) es una de las principales causas de morbilidad y mortalidad a nivel mundial, con una importante carga económica y social. Los beneficios de la Rehabilitación Respiratoria (RR) incluyen un mejor control de la disnea y mejoras importantes en la capacidad de ejercicio y la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud. El objetivo general de este estudio es evaluar el impacto de la implementación de un programa de rehabilitación respiratoria en pacientes con EPOC en ambulatorio y seguimiento a domicilio. Metodología: Estudio cuasi-experimental de grupo único, de carácter descriptivo y correlacional. Los participantes serán objeto de sesiones de RR 3 veces por semana en un total de 36 sesiones, en el Centro de Salud del área de residencia y en teleconsulta, en esquema previamente definido. Se realizarán evaluaciones al comienzo de la intervención, a la 18ª y a la 36ª sesiones y 6 y 12 semanas después de la 36ª sesión. A lo largo de las sesiones de RR se desarrollarán planes de ejercicio físico, enseñanza sobre factores exacerbantes y control de los factores de riesgo, técnicas de reeducación funcional respiratoria y entrenamiento de inaloterapia. Se proporcionará a los participantes un plan personalizado para ser implementado en su domicilio, con monitoreo por teleconsulta después del término del programa de RR (12ª semana). Resultados esperados: Se pretende lograr mejoras clínicas y estadísticamente significativas en la capacidad para el desempeño de las AVD, en la calidad de vida, en la gestión de los síntomas y del régimen terapéutico, en la capacidad para la marcha y en la reducción de los costes asociados a las exacerbaciones. También se pretende comprobar si existen diferencias significativas entre las dos modalidades de aplicación del programa. Conclusión: A través de la intervención planeada, se prevé llegar al final de 2023 con datos que permitan optimizar la respuesta a las necesidades de las personas con EPOC en el distrito de Braganza y evidenciar la másvalía de la intervención especializada en Enfermería de Rehabilitación en los Cuidados de Salud Primarios.

Abstract: The discourses of power about historical facts widespread in a hegemonic way bring in themselves, although not manifested, an individual or group's restlessness that evokes the right to memory. Analyzing these speeches raises several provocations and discoveries. Is there a memory gap between the progressive discourse on the institutional website and the right to remember those expropriated from the lands of the Itaipu hydroelectric plant? Therefore, this research aims to analyze and reflect on the right to the memory of the expropriated during the construction of Itaipu-Binacional (1975-1982) using the theoretical-methodological perspective of the French Discourse Analysis (ADF), the interpretative, qualitative and of the bibliographic research. The study demonstrated that discourses are entreched in ideologies and express the contexts in which collective memories are produced and constructed. The “framed memory” accentuated the silence and invisibility of the subjects in opposition to the institutional objective of the plant, which became a counterexample in memory conservation. Therefore, memory has the power to include, but also to exclude. Given the panorama, the contribution of the study, whose theme still incipient, hopes that Discourse Analysis will broaden the debate and the horizon of knowledge, insofar as it is an efficient instrument for understanding the law. Recovering the memory of the expropriated of Itaipu, provides reflections on the hegemonic-institutional discourse and the (un)need of the voice of the expropriated of the megamonument called Itaipu, not only the stone that sings, but also the stone that cries.

Resumo: Os discursos de poder sobre fatos históricos difundidos de forma hegemônica trazem em si, ainda que não manifesta, uma inquietação de um indivíduo ou grupo que evoca o direito à memória. Fazer a análise desses discursos suscita diversas provocações e descobertas. Haveria uma lacuna quanto à memória entre o discurso progressista constante no website institucional e o direito de lembrar dos desapropriados das terras da usina hidrelétrica de Itaipu? Assim, essa pesquisa objetiva analisar e refletir sobre o direito à memória dos desapropriados durante a construção da ITAIPU-BINACIONAL (1975-1982) valendo-se da perspectiva teórico-metodológica da Análise do Discurso Francesa (ADF), da abordagem interpretativista, qualitativa e da pesquisa bibliográfica. O estudo demonstrou que os discursos estão arraigados de ideologias e exprimem os contextos nos quais são produzidos e são construídas as memórias coletivas. A “memória enquadrada”, acentuou o silêncio e a invisibilização dos sujeitos em contraposição ao objetivo institucional da usina, que se tornou um contraexemplo em conservação da memória. Logo, a memória tem o poder de incluir, mas também de excluir. Face ao panorama, a contribuição do estudo, de tema ainda incipiente, espera que a Análise de Discurso amplie o debate e o horizonte de saberes, na medida em que se trata de um eficiente instrumento para a compreensão do direito. Recuperar a memória dos desapropriados da ITAIPU proporciona reflexões a respeito do discurso hegemônico-institucional e da (des)necessidade de voz dos desapropriados do megamonumento intitulado Itaipu, não somente a pedra que canta, mas também a pedra que chora.

SUMMARY: The study of animal neurology has historically focused on the closest descendants of humans, such as monkeys and chimpanzees. Because of this, the neurology of birds remains poorly studied and understood by humans compared to other groups of animals. Thus, the objective was to describe the central nervous system to better understand its functioning, correlating the findings with the role it plays in the physiology and biology of birds, comparing species with different behaviors between herbivores and carnivores, filling gaps in the literature serving as subsidy for future research.

RESUMEN: El estudio de la neurología animal se ha centrado históricamente en los descendientes más cercanos de los humanos, como los monos y los chimpancés. Debido a esto, la neurología de las aves sigue siendo poco estudiada y comprendida, en comparación con la de otros grupos de animales. Así, el objetivo fue describir el sistema nervioso central para comprender mejor su funcionamiento, correlacionando los hallazgos con el rol que juega en la fisiología y biología de las aves, comparando especies con diferentes comportamientos entre herbívoros y carnívoros y llenando vacíos en la literatura que sirvan como base para futuras investigaciones.

ABSTRACT Objectives: Currently, not much is known about the interactions between voice and growth hormone (GH). We have described large kindred with isolated GH deficiency (IGHD) due to a GHRH receptor mutation, resulting in severe short stature and high-pitched voice. These IGHD individuals have little interest in GH treatment, as they consider themselves “short long-lived people”, rather than patients. Interestingly, they report normal general quality of life, but they rate their Voice-Related Quality of Life (V-RQOL) as low. Here, we assessed the social and auditory-perceptual impacts of artistic-intervention voice therapy with semioccluded vocal tract exercises (SOVTE) and choral singing, on their voices. Material and methods: Seventeen GH-naïve adult IGHD individuals were enrolled in a single-arm interventional pre-post study with 13 weekly sessions of choir singing over 90 days. Outcome measures were V-RQOL scores, self-assessment of voice, and auditory-perceptual analysis (GRBAS scale, G: grade of the severity of dysphonia; R: roughness; B: breathiness; A: asthenia; and S: strain). Results: Marked improvements in total (p = 0.0001), physical (p = 0.0002), and socioemotional (p = 0.0001) V-RQOL scores and in self-assessment of voice (p = 0.004) were found. The general grades of vocal deviation (p = 0.0001), roughness (p = 0.0001), breathiness (p = 0.0001) and strain (p = 0.0001) exhibited accentuated reductions. Conclusions: Voice therapy with semioccluded vocal tract exercises and choral training improved social impact and perceptual voice assessments in IGHD subjects and markedly improved their voice-related quality of life. This is particularly important in a setting where GH replacement therapy is not widely accepted.

Abstract The use of red pitanga pulp in the manufacture of candies is an alternative to the use of artificial colors and flavorings. This study aimed to evaluate the content of potentially bioactive compounds, microbiological quality, and sensory characteristics of conventional and low-calorie chewable candies formulated with red pitanga pulp and stored for 180 days under environmental conditions. Physicochemical, microbiological, and sensory analyses were performed. The storage of these products for 180 days influenced the contents of phenolic compounds and monomeric anthocyanins. Antioxidant activity was null at the end of the storage period. Conventional candy had the highest content of bioactive compounds. Contamination by thermotolerant coliforms and Salmonella spp. was not observed. Sensory evaluation showed an acceptability index greater than 70%, indicating that the products in this study have good potential for consumption and insertion in the market.

RESUMO Considerando a importância do Silício (Si) para as plantas, nas últimas décadas muitos estudos avaliaram a capacidade do elemento em aliviar o estresse abiótico em diferentes espécies, a maioria delas de interesse agrícola. Para todas as espécies, o Si oferece uma gama de benefícios às plantas na redução dos efeitos do estresse biótico e abiótico, estando especialmente associado a aumentos na biomassa das plantas. No entanto, quando realizamos uma revisão quantitativa sistemática de estudos que relacionam o Si ao alívio do estresse abiótico em plantas, demonstramos que há uma redução dos efeitos do Si ao longo do tempo e que os efeitos do silício foram menores nos estudos mais recentes. Além disso, descobrimos que plantas sob diferentes tipos de estresse tiveram respostas semelhantes ao Si, sugerindo que os mecanismos de alívio do estresse abiótico nas plantas podem ser comuns entre as condições de estresse hídrico, salinidade e metais pesados – os principais estresses ambientais estudados na literatura. Nosso estudo pode direcionar estudos futuros, que não devem se limitar a simplesmente avaliar a existência de quaisquer efeitos de alívio de estresse do Si, mas também compreender a variação que existe nesses mecanismos e que depende do tipo de estresse e dos fatores envolvidos na redução desses efeitos.

ABSTRACT Considering the importance of Silicon (Si) for plants, many studies have focused to evaluate the ability of the element to alleviate abiotic stress in different species, mainly of agricultural interest. For all species, Si offers a range of benefits in reducing the effects of biotic and abiotic stress, being especially associated with increases in plant biomass. However, after performed a systematic quantitative review of studies linking Si to the relief of abiotic stress in plants, it was demonstrated that there is a reduction in the effects of Si over time and that the effects of Si were smaller in recent studies. Furthermore, was found that plants under different types of stress had similar responses to Si, suggesting that abiotic stress relief mechanisms in plants may be common among conditions of water stress, salinity, and heavy metals – the main environmental stresses studied in the literature. This study can guide future research, which should not be limited to simply evaluating the existence of any Si stress-relieving effects, but also to understand the variation that exists in these mechanisms and considered that they depend on the type of stress and the factors involved in reducing these effects.

Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a alporquia, a estaquia e a enxertia, com diferentes doses de ácido indolbutírico (AIB), para a propagação vegetativa de Eugenia involucrata. A alporquia foi realizada por dois anos consecutivos, com cinco diferentes doses de AIB. A estaquia foi testada com estacas lenhosas e herbáceas, quatro doses de AIB, em três estações do ano. Os métodos de enxertia – garfagem em fenda cheia e inglês simples – foram avaliados em duas estações do ano. Para os ensaios de alporquia, estaquia e enxertia, os delineamentos experimentais foram em blocos ao acaso, inteiramente casualizado em arranjo fatorial 3x4 e inteiramente casualizado, respectivamente. As plantas foram avaliadas quanto ao enraizamento, à percentagem de sobrevivência e ao desenvolvimento da parte aérea. Na alporquia, foram observadas baixas taxas de enraizamento foram observadas na alporquia de 0 a 50%, o uso de AIB não apresentou resultados consistentes e nenhum propágulo resultante sobreviveu após o transplante. A técnica de estaquia mostrou baixas taxas de sobrevivência, enraizamento e retenção foliar, sem efeito consistente das doses de AIB. A enxertia mostrou de 35 a 50% de fixação do enxerto, sem diferença significativa entre as técnicas de enxerto de emenda e de fenda. As técnicas de alporquia e estaquia não são eficientes para a propagação de E. involucrata, pois não favorecem a sobrevivência e o enraizamento das mudas. A enxertia, por ambos os métodos, é a técnica mais eficiente para a propagação de E. involucrata.

Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate air layering, cutting, and grafting, with different indolebutyric acid (IBA) rates, for the vegetative propagation of Eugenia involucrata. Air layering was carried out for two consecutive years with five different IBA rates. Cutting was tested for woody and herbaceous cuttings, using four IBA rates, in three seasons. The grafting methods – cleft graft and splice graft – were tested in two seasons. For the air layering, cutting, and grafting trials the experimental designs were randomized complete blocks, completely randomized in a 3x4 factorial arrangement, and completely randomized, respectively. Plants were evaluated for rooting, survival percentage, and shoot development. In air layering, low rooting rates of 0 to 50% were observed, the use of IBA showed no consistent results, and no resulting propagules survived after being transplanted. The cutting technique showed low survival, rooting, and leaf retention rates, with no consistent effect of IBA rates. Grafting showed 35 to 50% graft fixation, with no significant difference between the splice and cleft grafting techniques. The air layering and cutting techniques are not efficient for the propagation of E. involucrata, as they do not favor the survival and rooting of seedlings. Grafting, by both techniques, is the most efficient method for E. involucrata propagation.

Abstract The growth, sexual maturity and fertility-related parameters related of young Nellore bulls with divergent residual feed intake (RFI) raised on pasture were evaluated. After classification of 48 young males as low and high RFI (more and less efficient, respectively), the animals were evaluated for growth and reproductive parameters at 28-day intervals from 14.3 to 24.6 months of age. The semen was cryopreserved in the last sampling and fresh and post-thaw semen samples were evaluated. Low RFI bulls exhibited higher initial and final body weight (P < 0.05), but feed intake, body condition score and growth measures evaluated by carcass ultrasound were unaffected by RFI (P > 0.05). The scrotal circumference, sperm concentration, defects, and quality of fresh semen, and ultrasonographic testicular characteristics were unaffected by RFI (P > 0.05). However, velocity parameters such as average path and curvilinear velocities determined by computer-assisted sperm analysis of thawed semen submitted to the rapid thermoresistance test were improved (P < 0.05) in low RFI bulls, but this improvement in quality did not enhance in vitro sperm fertilizing ability. Our results demonstrated significant differences in metabolism and growth performance between bulls of divergent RFI. In addition, there was slight improvement in the semen quality of bulls with low RFI bulls, but this did not enhance in vitro fertilizing ability. Selection of beef bulls for RFI can be performed, which will result in economic benefits by improving the growth performance of the animals without affecting reproductive parameters.

Abstract This article reports a supervised internship in Psychology and Public Health. In this work, we aim to report the experience that happened with a focus on the promotion of living and dialogical spaces between teaching/services/community focused on the production of knowledge and practices to strengthen community bonds, development of support networks and promotion of mental health. Participatory methodologies were recommended in conducting the processes for surveying the health needs of the territory, planning actions, executing and evaluating based on onto epistemological assumptions and analytical categories of community psychology. We saw that in the territory community relations are crossed by the psychosocial effects of inequality and by the fear affection that weaken the weave of life in common and, in this context, we point out the importance of facilitating the improvement of community relations with a view to overcoming social inequities in health. We perceive that the valorization of history, memory and local language, as well as the ethics-aesthetics of art are potent elements in facilitating the process of producing care for oneself and the other.

Resumen O presente artigo descreve uma experiência registrada durante um estágio profissional em Psicologia e Saúde Coletiva. Neste trabalho, objetivamos relatar a experiência acontecida com foco na promoção de espaços vivenciais e dialógicos entre ensino/serviços/comunidade voltados para a produção de saberes e práticas de fortalecimento dos vínculos comunitários, desenvolvimento de redes de apoio e à promoção da saúde mental. Foram preconizadas metodologias participativas na condução dos processos de levantamento das necessidades de saúde do território, planejamento das ações, execução e avaliação com base nos pressupostos ontoepistemológicos e categorias analíticas da psicologia comunitária. Vimos que no território as relações comunitárias são atravessadas pelos efeitos psicossociais da desigualdade e pelo medo que fragilizam o tecer da vida em comum e, nesse contexto, assinalamos a importância de facilitar o aprimoramento das relações comunitárias com vistas à superação das iniquidades sociais em saúde. Percebemos que a valorização da história, memória e linguagem local, bem como, a ética-estética da arte são elementos potentes na facilitação do processo de produção de cuidado de si e do outro.

ABSTRACT Phosphate solubilizing microorganisms (PSM) and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) represent alternative strategies to reduce the cost and increase the production of cagaita (Eugenia dysenterica) seedlings associated with different substrates. This study aimed to assess the effect of inoculating PSM and AMF in different substrates for cagaita (Eugenia dysenterica) culturing. The experiment was installed with a completely randomized design, using a 4 × 2 factorial scheme, with four inoculation treatments (PSM, AMF, PSM + AMF, and Control - absence of inoculation), and two soils substrates (pure sandy substrate and mixed substrate). The substrates and microorganism had influence in cagaita seedling growth. The pure substrate conferred better performance of plant growth parameters. In this substrate, cagaita seedlings had higher stem diameter, shoot fresh and dry weight, root volume and root dry weight. The cultivation of seedlings in pure substrate inoculated with AMF and PSM provided greater Mo content in the leaves. The higher root volume of cagaita seedlings was obtained with the inoculation of PSM. A sandy substrate seems to be the most adequate for the cultivation of cagaita seedlings. In addition, co-inoculation provides higher Fe, Mg, and K content in the leaves, as this work showed.

RESUMEN Los microorganismos solubilizadores de fosfato (PSM) y los hongos micorrízicos arbusculares (HMA) representan estrategias alternativas para reducir el costo y aumentar la producción de plántulas de cagaita (Eugenia dysenterica) asociadas a diferentes sustratos. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar el efecto de la inoculación de PSM y HMA en diferentes sustratos para el cultivo de cagaita (Eugenia dysenterica). El experimento se instaló con un diseño completamente al azar, utilizando un esquema factorial 4 × 2, con cuatro tratamientos de inoculación (PSM, HMA, PSM + HMA y Control - ausencia de inoculación), y dos sustratos de suelo (sustrato arenoso puro y sustrato mixto). Los sustratos y microorganismos influyeron en el crecimiento de las plántulas de cagaita. El sustrato puro propició un mejor desempeño de los parámetros de crecimiento de las plantas. En este sustrato, las plántulas de cagaita presentaron mayor diámetro de tallo, masa fresca y seca de brotes, volumen de raíz y masa seca de la raíz. El cultivo de plántulas en sustrato puro inoculadas con HMA y PSM proporcionó mayor contenido de Mo en las hojas. El mayor volumen de raíces de plántulas de cagaita se obtuvo con la inoculación de PSM. Un sustrato arenoso parece ser el más adecuado para el cultivo de plántulas de cagaita. Además, la coinoculación proporciona un mayor contenido de Fe, Mg y K en las hojas, como mostró este trabajo.
