RESUMO Problemas de agendamento são tarefas da rotina operacional presentes nas empresas, que exigem uma solução ótima para apoiar a decisão. No entanto, esses problemas ainda não foram investigados com frequência na ciência florestal. Neste sentido, propôs-se descrever uma formulação matemática para a otimização da silvicultura sob restrição de agendamento da mão de obra/ sequenciamento das atividades (SSRRMM). Buscando o método mais adequado para solucionar este problema combinatório, comparou-se duas estratégias: i) Programação Linear Inteira (PLI) e ii) Simulated annealing (SA). Os principais critérios para avaliar o desempenho das estratégias foram fornecer soluções fáctiveis em tempo de processamento e custo final do projeto aceitáveis. A instância abordada é um problema real contendo 32 talhões e cinco atividades silviculturais programadas dentro de um prazo de 40 dias. Testou-se ainda três funções objetivo, definindo estudos de caso (S) para atender às decisões recorrentes dos gestores, minimizando: S1 - custo do projeto, S2 - makespan e S3 - utilização da mão de obra. Os resultados revelam um modelo robusto para apoiar o planejador florestal em tarefas a nível operacional. O PLI alcançou a solução ótima apenas para a minimização do custo do projeto (S1) devido à demora no tempo de processamento dos outros estudos de caso. Desta forma, destaca-se o SA como um método eficiente para solucionar o SSRRMM, fornecendo soluções satisfatórias em um tempo reduzido. Todas as funções objetivo se ajustaram adequadamente aos seus objetivos propostos. As funções de makespan e de uso da mão de obra aumentaram US$ 1.820,29 (S2) e US$ 2.146,39 (S3) em relação ao S1, respectivamente, para terminar o projeto mais cedo e reduzir a oscilação do uso da mão de obra ao longo dos dias. Diante dessas descobertas, sugere-se aos futuros pesquisadores incorporar outros desafios na tomada de decisão, envolvendo uma formulação multi-objetivo ou métodos para revelar novos insights dentro do manejo e planejamento florestal.

ABSTRACT Scheduling problems are tasks of the operational routine in companies, which demand an optimal solution to support the decision. However, these problems have not been frequently investigated in forestry science. Therefore, it was proposed to describe a mathematical formulation for silviculture optimization under scheduling restriction of the workforce /sequencing of tasks (SSRCMM). Seeking the most suitable method to solve this combinatorial problem, two strategies were compared: i) Integer Linear Programming (ILP) and ii) simulated annealing (SA). The main criteria to assess strategies’ performance were to provide feasible solutions at an acceptable processing time and final project cost. The instance approached is a real problem outlined in 32 stands and five silvicultural tasks scheduled within a 40-day deadline. Three objective functions were also tested, defining case studies (S) to attend to the recurring managers’ decisions by minimizing: S1 – project cost, S2 – makespan, and S3 – workforce usage. The results reveal a robust model to support the forest planner in operational-level tasks. The ILP achieved the optimal solution only for the minimization of the project cost (S1) due to the delay in processing time of the other case studies. Thus, the SA stands out as an efficient method to solve the SSRCMM by providing satisfactory solutions in a reduced time. All the objective functions fitted properly with their proposed goals. The makespan and workforce usage functions increased by US$1,820.29 (S2) and US$2,146.39 (S3) from the S1, respectively, to finish the project earlier and reduce the oscillation of workforce usage over the days. Facing these findings, it is suggested that future researchers incorporate other challenges in decision-making, involving a multi-objective formulation or methods to reveal new insights for forest management and planning.

RESUMO Objetivou-se determinar o perfil de excreção de resíduos de albendazole e ivermectina em leite de cabras submetidas a tratamento antiparasitário. Vinte e quatro cabras sem padrão racial definido (SPRD), lactantes, pluríparas, criadas extensivamente em pastagem nativa foram tratadas com albendazole ou ivermectina, via oral. As amostras de leite foram coletadas antes e após a aplicação dos vermífugos, nos dias 0, 1, 2, 3 e 4 para Albendazole e 0, 3, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 e 42 para ivermectina. Os resíduos dos vermífugos foram determinados por meio de cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência com detector ultravioleta. A quantidade de resíduos presentes no leite foi decrescente em função do tempo. As taxas medias diárias de decréscimo dos resíduos de albendazole foram 63,34%, 40,18 e 100,0%, do 2° ao 4° dia, respectivamente; no 3° dia após o tratamento, 50% das amostras apresentaram concentrações ≥ 47,61 μg.mL-1 e no 4° dia, nenhuma amostra apresentou resíduo de albendazole. Os teores excretados de ivermectina foram similares entre o 3° e 21° dia, quando todas as amostras apresentaram valores ≥ 51,90 μg.mL-1; no 35° dia, 50% das amostras apresentavam valores acima nos níveis recomendáveis; no 42° dia, nenhuma amostra apresentou resíduo detectável de ivermectina. Conclui-se que o leite de cabras SPRD tratadas oralmente com albendazole ou ivermectina não apresenta seus respectivos resíduos em quantidades detectáveis a partir do 4° e 42° dias, respectivamente, após tratamento antiparasitário.

SUMMARY Theaimthis study was to determine the excretion profile of albendazole and ivermectin residues in milk from goats submitted to antiparasitic treatment. Twenty-four Brazilianmongrel lactating and pluriparous goats, maintained extensively on native pasture were orally treatedwith albendazole or ivermectin. Milk samples were collected before and after vermifuges application, in the days 0, 2, 3 e 4 to albendazole and 0, 3, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 to ivermectin. The vermifuges residues were detected by high performance liquid cromatography with ultravioletdetector. The amount of residues contained in themilk was decreasing in function of time. The mean daily rates of decrease of albendazole residues were 63.34%, 40.18 and 100.0%, from the 2ndto the 4thday, respectively; on the 3rdday after treatment, 50% of the samples showed concentrations ≥ 47.61 μg.mL–1, and on the 4thday, no sample had albendazole residue. The amount excreted of ivermectin was similar between the 3rdand 21stday when all samples presented values ≥ 51.90 μg.mL-1; on the 35th day, 50% of the samples showed values above of recommended levels, and on the 42nd day, no sample had detectable ivermectin residue. In conclusion, the milk of Brazilian mongrel goats treated orally with albendazole or ivermectin does not contain its respective residues in detectable amounts from the 4th and 42nddays, respectively, after antiparasitic treatment.

RESUMO O estado de Minas Gerais vem sofrendo com a exploração de minério desde o começo da colonização no Brasil. Apesar disso, ainda hoje é o estado que mais possui reservas minerais, o que gera um embate entre produção mineral e conservação ambiental, uma vez que a extração do minério gera desmatamento e outros impactos ambientais. O objetivo desse trabalho foi obter um panorama sobre a expansão da mineração e os impactos resultantes dessa atividade ao longo dos anos no estado. Os resultados mostraram que nas últimas décadas houve um grande aumento da expansão de minas no estado, bem como impactos ambientais e de saúde pública nas cidades que abrigam minerações mais antigas. Assim, conclui-se que por ser uma fonte de economia importante para o Brasil, é preciso rever a política ambiental das grandes minerações, bem como aumentar a fiscalização por parte dos órgãos públicos para que possamos assegurar as fontes de minério, bem como qualidade ambiental para as futuras gerações.

ABSTRACT The state of Minas Gerais has been suffering from the mineral exploration since inception of colonization in Brazil. Despite this, today is the state that has more mineral reserves, which creates an encounter between mineral production and environmental conservation, since the mineral extraction generates deforestation and other environmental impacts. The aim of this study was to obtain an overview of the expansion of mining and the resulting impacts of mining over the years in the state. The results showed that in recent decades there has been a large increase in the expansion of mines in the state, as well as environmental and public health impacts in cities that harbor the oldest mining. Thus, it was concluded that to be an important source of savings for Brazil, it becomes necessary to review the environmental policy of large mining and increase supervision by the public agency so that we can ensure the sources of mineral and quality environmental for future generations.

Accurate knowledge of floristic composition is crucial when planning and designing research projects and public policies. In this study, our goal was to assess tree sampling accuracy and to identify sites with higher concentrations of rare tree species, as well as those with the highest tree species richness, in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. We determined sampling accuracy using the first-order jackknife and Chao 2 estimators, calculated the number of rare species (singletons and doubletons) and applied sampled-based rarefaction. We found that sample accuracy (estimated vs. observed values) was over 90% for the state as a whole, the best estimates having been obtained for the areas of rain forest (first-order jackknife: 91%; Chao 2: 95%). Of the tree species identified, 16.6% were considered rare in the state and only 4% were found in all forest types. Among the various forest types, semideciduous forests showed the highest proportions of rare tree species. Tree species richness was highest in the rain forests and lowest in the dwarf cloud forests. Our results make an important contribution to the conservation of tree species within one of the "hottest" biodiversity hotspots in the world.

Nosso objetivo foi revisar o papel ecológico das trilhas e inserir essa temática nos projetos de restauração ecológica. Para uma compreensão abrangente desse papel ecológico, abordamos tanto as possíveis aplicações das trilhas para projetos de Educação Ambiental (EA) quanto seus impactos sobre a vegetação. Mostramos que as trilhas ecológicas constituem espaços adequados para a prática de programas de EA. Por outro lado, apontamos uma série de potenciais problemas advindos da abertura e utilização de trilhas, como, por exemplo, compactação do solo e alterações na composição, estrutura e diversidade da vegetação adjacente, para então indicarmos que é possível abordar as trilhas nos projetos de restauração de ecossistemas. Concluímos sugerindo algumas perguntas que poderão nortear os futuros trabalhos sobre trilhas e vegetação, incluindo suas conexões com a restauração ecológica.

We aimed at reviewing the ecological role of the trails and inserting this theme into restoration ecology projects. For a comprehensive understanding of this ecological role, we addressed the applicability of trails to Environmental Education (EE) projects and their impacts on vegetation. We showed that trails are suitable places to practice EE programs. On the other hand, we point out a number of potential concerns arising from the use and opening of trails as, for example, soil compaction and changes in the composition, structure, and diversity of adjacent vegetation. Hence, we indicate that trails can be addressed in restoration projects of ecosystems. We conclude by suggesting some questions that can guide future works on trails and vegetation, including their connections with restoration ecology.
