Abstract The objective of this work was to manufacture pizza dough, truffle, and cake using the paste of a by-product from the vinification of 'BRS Violeta' grape, as well as to determine some bromatological characteristics of these products. The by-product was pressed to remove excess must and crushed to obtain the paste. The paste, pasteurized at 80°C for 3 min and frozen at -18°C, was characterized for total phenolic compounds (TPC), total monomeric anthocyanins (TMA), and dietary fiber. The food products were characterized for the following parameters: moisture, energy value, and protein, lipid, ash, dietary fiber, total carbohydrates, and TPC contents. The contents found in the paste were: 326 mg GAE 100 g-1, for TPC; 185 mg mv35diglc 100g-1, for TMA; and 10 g 100 g-1, for dietary fibers. Based on the centesimal compositions of the food products, the pizza dough and truffle can be considered as a source of fiber and protein, respectively. The products show TPC contents between 51 and 63 mg GAE 100 g-1. Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi elaborar massa de pizza, bombom tipo trufa e bolo, a partir da pasta de coproduto da vinificação da uva 'BRS Violeta', bem como determinar algumas características bromatológicas desses produtos. O coproduto foi prensado, para retirada do excesso de mosto, e triturado para obtenção da pasta. A pasta, pasteurizada a 80°C por 3 min e congelada a -18°C, foi caracterizada quanto aos compostos fenólicos totais (CFT), às antocianinas monoméricas totais (AMT) e à fibra alimentar. Os produtos alimentícios foram caracterizados quanto aos seguintes parâmetros: umidade, valor energético, e teores de proteínas, lipídios, cinzas, fibras alimentares, carboidratos totais e CFT. ABSTRACT The gingival cyst of the adult (GCA) is a rare odontogenic cyst, consisting of 0.3% of all odontogenic cysts. This case report, based on CARE guidelines for case reports, aims to present a case of a 52-year-old female patient with a symptomatic translucent nodule in the upper left anterior gingiva, measuring approximately 6mm. Excisional biopsy was performed, and the histological examination revealed multiple cystic cavities lined by the squamous epithelium of varying thickness with focal areas of nodular thickenings. The presence of clusters of cells with clear cytoplasm within epithelial thickenings was observed. PAS staining was negative in clear cells. The diagnosis of the GCA was established. Despite its rarity, GCA should be considered in the differential diagnosis of gingival lesions. Conservative surgical treatment proved to be effective, with no signs of recurrence. O objetivo foi reconstruir discursos e ampliar o quadro crítico compreensivo acerca dos posicionamentos dos atores do legislativo. O corpus documental histórico (1989-2001) é oriundo dos fundos da Câmara dos Deputados e Diários do Congresso Nacional, coletado nos sítios eletrônicos em dezembro de 2019. Utilizou-se a totalidade dos registros parlamentares da tramitação da Lei nº 10.216 que apresentavam argumentos para discussão da votação e emendas. Entre as fontes secundárias, valeu-se de entrevistas com o autor da lei, Paulo Delgado (2017 e 2018), e de literatura científica indexada, oriunda de revisão integrativa na BVS/Medline (2015-2019). Pelo método histórico hermenêutico dialético, instaurou-se a reflexão compreensiva e crítica dos discursos. Reconstruíram-se posicionamentos favoráveis e desfavoráveis dos deputados federais visando à compreensão dos campos de força históricos e potenciais consonâncias aos movimentos de contrarreforma vivenciados na atualidade. Conclui-se que, mesmo considerando os avanços filosóficos e de organização prática da gestão pública representados pela consolidação legal, conquistados pela saúde mental brasileira no contexto da Reforma Psiquiátrica, as transformações do projeto original deixaram brechas para atuações mais ou menos reacionárias do Estado brasileiro.

ABSTRACT The present essay has a qualitative and exploratory character centered on the parliamentary debate of PL No. 3,657/1989, which generated Law No. 10,216/2001. The objective was to reconstruct discourses and expand the comprehensive critical picture about the positions of legislative actors. The historical documentary corpus (1989-2001) comes from the funds of the Chamber of Deputies and Diaries of the National Congress, collected on the electronic websites in December 2019. All the parliamentary records of the processing of Law No. 10,216, that involved voting and amendments discussion, were used. Among secondary sources, interviews with the author of the law, Paulo Delgado (2017 and 2018), and indexed scientific literature, derived from an integrative review at the BVS/Medline (2015-2019). Through the dialectical hermeneutic historical method, comprehensive and critical reflection of the discourses was established. Favorable and unfavorable positions of federal congresspeople were reconstructed in order to understand the historical force fields and potential consonances with the counter-reformation movements experienced today. We conclude that, even considering the philosophical advances and the practical organization of public management represented by legal consolidation, achieved by Brazilian mental health in the context of Psychiatric Reformation, the transformations of the original project left gaps for more or less reactionary actions by the Brazilian State.

Abstract Objective: the purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Chrysobalanus icaco on adiposity and its mechanism of action in the gene and protein expression of acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC), a key enzyme in lipogenesis. Method: Wistar rats were divided into a regular or control group (CG) and a high-fat diet (HFD) group. HFD was treated with saline or aqueous extract of Chrysobalanus icaco (AECI) for four weeks. Body weight and food intake were assessed. Subcutaneous, retroperitoneal and periepididymal adipose tissue samples were collected and weighed. Adipocytes from periepididymal tissue were isolated and analyzed. The gene and protein expression of ACC in subcutaneous tissue was determined. Results: AECI showed no effect on intake or body weight. However, the weight of the fat pads and the gene and protein expression of ACC were lower, and glucose tolerance was improved. Conclusion: the aqueous extract of Chrysobalanus icaco proved beneficial for the treatment of obesity, preventing fat storage and improving glycemic homeostasis.

Resumen Objetivo: el objetivo de este estudio fue investigar los efectos del extracto acuoso de Chrysobalanus icaco (AECI) en la adiposidad y su mecanismo de acción en la expresión génica y proteica de la acetil-CoA-carboxilasa (ACC), una enzima clave para la lipogénesis. Métodos: se usaron ratones macho Wistar que se asignaron a una dieta estándar de control (CG) o a una rica en grasa (HFD). La HFD se trató con solución salina o con extracto acuoso de Chrysobalanus icaco (AECI) durante cuatro semanas. Se evaluaron el peso corporal y el consumo alimentario. Se aislaron y analizaron muestras de tejido adiposo subcutáneo, retroperitoneal y periepididímico. Se determinó la expresión génica y proteica de ACC en el tejido subcutáneo. Resultados: el AECI no mostró ningún efecto sobre la ingesta de alimento y tampoco sobre el peso corporal. Sin embargo, el tratamiento con AECI redujo el peso de los tejidos adiposos y la expresión génica y proteica de ACC, y mejoró también la tolerancia a la glucosa. Conclusión: Chrysobalanus icaco (AECI) resultó ser beneficioso para el tratamiento de la obesidad, previniendo el almacenamiento de grasa y mejorando la homeostasis glucémica.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the effects of nitrofurazone on the correction of abdominal wall defect treated with polypropylene mesh involved by fibrous tissue in rats. METHODS: A defect in the abdominal wall was created and corrected with polypropylene mesh in 20 rats. They were randomly distributed into four groups: control, fibrous mesh, nitrofurazone and nitrofurazone dip in the mesh. Euthanasia was performed in 21 post-operative days. The healing process was analyzed regarding the meshes and macroscopic and microscopic aspects. RESULTS: All animals had adhesions. However, no statistically significant difference (p>0.05) when compared between groups. Similarly microscopic analysis, in which there was no statistical significance level for the evaluated parameters such as mono and polymorphonuclear lymphocytes, granuloma, fibrosis, necrosis and collagen proliferation. CONCLUSION: There was no significant effect on the abdominal wall defect repair with polypropylene mesh surrounded by fibrous tissue when dipped in nitrofurazone 2%.

RESUMO Objetivo: Avaliar a adesão dos médicos prescritores, de um centro privado especializado em oncologia, à diretriz de antiêmese profilática da American Society of Clinical Oncology, no primeiro ciclo de quimioterapia antineoplásica. Métodos: Foram avaliados retrospectivamente 139 esquemas de quimioterapia, de 105 pacientes, tratados no período de 2011 a 2013. Resultados: Foram observados 78% de taxa de não adesão à diretriz. As principais discordâncias com a diretriz foram prescrição de doses mais elevadas de dexametasona e uso excessivo de antagonista 5-HT3 para regimes de quimioterapia de risco emetogênico baixo. Pela análise univariada, malignidades hematológicas (p=0,005), uso de dois ou mais quimioterápicos (p=0,05) e regimes de alto risco emetogênico (p=0,012) foram fatores estatisticamente associados a maior adesão à diretriz. O tratamento baseado em paclitaxel foi o único fator estatisticamente significativo para a não adesão (p=0,02). Pela análise multivariada, a quimioterapia de alto risco emetogênico apresentou maior correlação com a adesão à diretriz (p=0,05). Conclusão: Houve maior aderência para a quimioterapia de alto risco emetogênico. Esforços educacionais devem se concentrar mais intensamente na gestão de regimes de quimioterapia com potencial emetogênico baixo e moderado. Talvez o desenvolvimento de lembretes gerados por sistemas informatizados possa melhorar a aderência à diretriz.

ABSTRACT Objective: To assess adherence of the prescribing physicians in a private cancer care center to the American Society of Clinical Oncology guideline for antiemetic prophylaxis, in the first cycle of antineoplastic chemotherapy. Methods: A total of 139 chemotherapy regimens, of 105 patients, were evaluated retrospectively from 2011 to 2013. Results: We observed 78% of non-adherence to the guideline rate. The main disagreements with the directive were the prescription of higher doses of dexamethasone and excessive use of 5-HT3 antagonist for low risk emetogenic chemotherapy regimens. On univariate analysis, hematological malignancies (p=0.005), the use of two or more chemotherapy (p=0.05) and high emetogenic risk regimes (p=0.012) were factors statistically associated with greater adherence to guidelines. Treatment based on paclitaxel was the only significant risk factor for non-adherence (p=0.02). By multivariate analysis, the chemotherapy of high emetogenic risk most correlated with adherence to guideline (p=0.05). Conclusion: We concluded that the adherence to guidelines is greater if the chemotherapy regime has high emetogenic risk. Educational efforts should focus more intensely on the management of chemotherapy regimens with low and moderate emetogenic potential. Perhaps the development of a computer generated reminder may improve the adherence to guidelines.
