Resumo Introdução: A hepatite autoimune (HAI) apresenta um espectro de sintomas que varia de doença assintomática a hepatite aguda grave, hepatite crónica e cirrose descompensada. A apresentação aguda não é rara e pode representar hepatite autoimune aguda genuína (HAIAG) ou exacerbação aguda de hepatite autoimune crónica (EAHAIC). O nosso objetivo foi identiﬁcar a prevalência, caraterísticas clínicas e fatores prognósticos associados à HAIAG, e comparar esses casos com EAHAIC. Métodos: Estudo observacional, transversal, incluindo doentes com apresentação aguda de HAI, deﬁnida como bilirrubina total > 5 vezes o limite superior da normalidade (xLSN) e/ou ALT > 10 xLSN, e sem história prévia de doença hepática. HAIAG foi deﬁnida pela presença de achados histológicos de doença aguda. Análises bivariadas foram realizadas para identiﬁcar fatores associados à HAIAG, quando comparado com o EAHAIC. Resultados: Foram incluídos setenta e dois doentes com apresentação agu-da de HAI, dos quais seis (8.3%) com HAIAG. A análise comparativa entre doentes com HAIAG e doentes com EAHAIC mostrou que a atividade de protrombina (96%(74-100) versus 61% (10-100; p=0.003) e os níveis de albumina (3,9 ± 0,2 g/dL vs. 3,4 ± 0,5 g/dL; p < 0,001) foram signiﬁcativamente mais elevados em pacientes com HAIAG. O score do Grupo Internacional de Hepatite Autoimune foi mais elevado em doentes com EAHAIC (18.5 (8-23) versus 16.5 (15-17); p=0.010). A resposta terapêutica completa ao tratamento foi alcançada em 66.7% dos casos de HAIAG (vs. 15,2% na EAHAIC, p=0,018). Conclusões: A HAIAG é rara (8.3%), e os doentes com esta apresentação mostraram testes de função hepática mais preservados, sugerindo que a maioria dos casos com perda de função são EAHAIC. Além disso, os doentes com HAIAG tiveram maior taxa de resposta terapêutica completa, sugerindo que uma função hepática mais preservada na apresentação e o diagnóstico precoce tem uma implicação terapêutica positiva.

Abstract Introduction: Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) has a spectrum of symptoms ranging from asymptomatic disease to acute severe hepatitis, chronic hepatitis, and decompensated cirrhosis. The acute presentation is not rare and could represent genuine acute AIH (GAAIH) or acute exacerbation of chronic autoimmune hepatitis. We aimed to identify the prevalence, clinical features, and prognostic factors associated with GAAIH and compare these cases with acute exacerbation of chronic AIH. Methods: This cross-sectional observational study evaluated patients with acute AIH presentation, deﬁned as total bilirubin >5 times the upper limit of normality (xULN) and/or alanine aminotransferase >10 xULN, and no prior history of liver disease. Histology ﬁndings of acute disease deﬁned GAAIH. Bivariate analyses were performed to identify factors associated with the GAAIH, when compared with acute exacerbation of chronic AIH. Results: Seventy-two patients with acute presentation of AIH were included and six (8.3%) of them presented GAAIH. Comparative analysis between patients with GAAIH and patients with acute exacerbation of chronic AIH revealed that prothrombin activity (96% [74-100] vs. 61% [10-100]; p = 0.003) and albumin levels (3.9 ± 0.2 g/dL vs. 3.4 ± 0.5 g/dL; p < 0.001) were higher in patients with GAAIH. The International Autoimmune Hepatitis Group score was higher in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic AIH (18.5 [8-23] vs. 16.5 [15-17]; p = 0.010). Compared to 15.2% of acute exacerbation of chronic AIH, complete therapeutic response to treatment was achieved in 67.7% of cases with GAAIH (p = 0.018). Conclusions: GAAIH was rare (8.3%), and patients with this presentation exhibited more preserved liver function tests, suggesting that most cases presenting with loss of function are acute exacerbation of chronic AIH. Additionally, patients with GAAIH had a better complete therapeutic response, suggesting a more preserved liver function at presentation, and early diagnosis has a positive therapeutic implication.

Resumen: Este artículo tiene como objetivo describir el desarrollo de la Terapia Cognitivo-Conductual (TCC) en la región Nordeste de Brasil a través de las percepciones y experiencias de profesionales del área. El interés por el origen y el desarrollo de la TCC en el Nordeste permite identificar las influencias sociohistóricas para el surgimiento de la TCC en el estado y se suma a un ámbito de trabajos nacionales y globales con interés en la historia de la TCC. Se realizó un levantamiento bibliográfico de publicaciones impresas y digitales, además de entrevistas a psicólogos especialistas en TCC de la región. Se destaca el papel de los profesores de instituciones de educación superior de la región en el surgimiento y desarrollo del enfoque, la relevancia de los eventos regionales para la difusión del conocimiento y la actual consolidación de la TCC como práctica clínica en el Nordeste. Se entiende que la expansión de la TCC en el entorno académico y clínico de esta región sigue los cambios que han ocurrido a nivel nacional y mundial.

Foi realizado um levantamento bibliográfico de publicações impressas e digitais, além de entrevistas com psicólogos especialistas em TCC da região. Destaca-se o papel de professores de instituições de ensino superior da região para o surgimento e desenvolvimento da abordagem, a relevância dos eventos regionais para a difusão dos conhecimentos e a atual consolidação da TCC enquanto prática clínica no Nordeste. Compreende-se que a expansão da TCC no meio acadêmico e clínico nesta região acompanha as mudanças que ocorreram no âmbito nacional e mundial.

Abstract: This article aims to identify and analyze, in historical perspective, the development of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in the Northeast region of Brazil. Interest in the origin and development of CBTs in the Northeast makes it possible to identify the socio-historical influences for the onset of CBT in the state and adds to the scope of national and global works with an interest in the history of CBTs. A bibliographic survey of printed and digital publications and interviews with psychologists specialized in CBT in the region were carried out. The role of teachers of higher education institutions in the region is highlighted for the development of the approach, the relevance of regional events for the dissemination of knowledge and the current consolidation of CBT as a clinical practice in the Northeast. It is understood that the expansion of CBT in the academic and clinical environment in the Northeast of Brazil accompanies the changes that have taken place at the national and global levels.

Resumo: Este artigo aborda certas interpretações sobre os protestos brasileiros conhecidos como Jornadas de Junho de 2013. A pesquisa qualitativa localizou 134 publicações acadêmicas brasileiras sobre o tema, dentre artigos científicos, teses e dissertações. Com base nesse material foi feita uma sistematização crítica da literatura sobre as Jornadas em que discernimos os argumentos presentes nos textos sobre as origens, características e legados das Jornadas, problematizando algumas dessas interpretações. Argumentamos que Junho de 2013 foi um ciclo de protestos que comportou uma variedade de atores, pautas e repertórios produzindo diversos legados. Dessa forma fornecemos ao leitor uma compreensão sobre as Jornadas, apontando para as disputas e complexidades do fenômeno, evitando assim certas generalizações sobre o mesmo.

Abstract: This article addresses certain interpretations of Brazilian protests known as the June Journeys of 2013. The qualitative research found 134 Brazilian academic publications, among scientific articles, theses and dissertations. Based on this material we devoloped a critical systematization of the literature on the Journeys in which we discern the arguments present in the texts on the origins, characteristics and legacies of the Journeys, problematizing some of these interpretations. We argue that June 2013 was a cycle of protests that involved a variety of actors, agendas and repertoires producing diverse legacies. In this way, we provide the reader with an understanding of the Journeys, pointing to the disputes and complexities of the phenomenon, thus avoiding certain generalizations about it.

Resumen: Este artículo aborda ciertas interpretaciones de las protestas brasileñas conocidos como las Jornadas de Junio de 2013. La investigación cualitativa encontró 134 publicaciones académicas brasileñas, entre artículos científicos, tesis y disertaciones. A partir de este material se realizó una sistematización crítica de la literatura sobre las Jornadas en la que discernimos los argumentos presentes en los textos sobre los orígenes, características y legados de las Jornadas, problematizando algunas de estas interpretaciones. Sostenemos que junio de 2013 fue un ciclo de protestas que involucró a una variedad de actores, agendas y repertorios que produjeron diversos legados. De esta forma, proporcionamos al lector una comprensión acerca de las Jornadas, apuntando a las disputas y complejidades del fenómeno, evitando así ciertas generalizaciones sobre Junio.

Resumen Introducción: Los tumores intracraneales son la segunda patología más frecuente en pacientes entre 0 y 19 años de vida. En edades más tempranas son más frecuentes los tumores de origen embrionario, con una localización infratentorial. Presentan una gran morbimortalidad dada por el efecto de masa que genera el tumor, y también por los tratamientos disponibles, presentando un gran desafío para la toma de decisiones. El método ideal para la caracterización de los mismos y seguimiento es la resonancia magnética (RM) con contraste endovenoso. Objetivo: Analizar las características imagenológicas de los tumores intracraneales en pacientes menores de 1 año y su relación con la agresividad tumoral. Método: Estudio de cohorte retrospectivo. Se incluyeron pacientes de hasta 1 año de edad con diagnóstico de tumor intracraneal y resonancia magnética disponible, evaluados entre los años 2010 y 2022. Se obtuvo la información clínica y las características imagenológicas de los tumores. Se incluyeron 11 pacientes. Los motivos de consulta más frecuentes fueron aumento del perímetro cefálico (27,3%) y vómitos (27,3%). Resultados: Encontramos seis tumores supratentoriales y cinco infratentoriales. Siete tumores tenían restricción en difusión, nueve reforzaban con contraste intravenoso y dos presentaban diseminación leptomeníngea. Se observó desviación de la línea media en ocho pacientes e hidrocefalia en seis. Encontramos seis tumores gliales (54,5%), dos tumores teratoides rabdoides, dos tumores neurales y un ependimoma anaplásico. Cinco pacientes recibieron tratamiento quirúrgico y tres tratamiento quimioterápico; los restantes no recibieron tratamiento oncológico. Siete pacientes tuvieron sobrevida a 5 años, tres con desarrollo neurológico normal y cuatro con secuelas neurológicas. Conclusiones: La detección de las lesiones y sus características radiológicas, en especial la localización, pueden asistir en el manejo de los pacientes con tumores intracraneales en el primer año de vida.

Abstract Introduction: Intracranial tumors are the second most common pathologies in patients between 0 and 19 years of age. At younger ages, embryonal tumors are more frequent, with an infratentorial location. There is a high morbimortality given by the mass effect the tumor generates, but also given the different treatments available, which creates a great challenge for decision-making. The Gold-Standard imaging method for the characterization and follow-up is MRI with contrast. Objective: To analyze the imaging findings of intracranial tumors in patients under 1 year of age and their relationship with tumor aggressiveness. Method: Retrospective cohort study. Patients ≤1 year old with a diagnosis of intracranial tumor and available magnetic resonance imaging, evaluated between the years 2010 and 2022, were included. Clinical information and imaging characteristics of the tumors were obtained. A total of 11 patients were included. The most frequent reasons for consultation were increased head circumference (27.3%) and vomiting (27.3%). Results: We found six supratentorial tumors and five infratentorial tumors. Seven tumors showed diffusion restriction, nine enhanced after intravenous contrast administration, and two presented leptomeningeal dissemination. Deviation of the midline was observed in eight patients, and hydrocephalus in six cases. Among the tumors, six were glial tumors (54.5%), two were teratoid rhabdoid tumors, two were neural tumors, and one was an anaplastic ependymoma. Five patients underwent surgical treatment, three received chemotherapy; the remaining patients did not receive oncological treatment. Seven patients had a 5-year survival, with three of them showing normal neurological development while four patients presented neurological sequelae. Conclusions: The detection of these lesions and their radiological characteristics, especially their location, can assist in the management of patients under one year of age with intracranial tumors.

Abstract: This article addresses one of the legacies from June 2013: the spread of collectives beyond the sphere of social movements. A qualitative research was conducted by systematizing information from 725 collectives with social media profiles and 21 interviews with collectives in Teresina, Brazil. Results point out four types of collectives (arts, university students, mutual aid associations and business groups) that defend more inclusive and horizontal relationships, thus showing another type of impact from June 2013.

Resumen: Este artículo aborda la expansión de organizaciones denominadas colectivos más allá del ámbito de los movimientos sociales, uno de los legados de Junio de 2013. Se realizó una investigación cualitativa mediante la sistematización de informaciones de 725 colectivos que tenían páginas en una red social y 21 entrevistas a colectivos de Teresina (Piauí, Brasil). Los resultados apuntan la existencia de cuatro tipos de colectivos (colectivos artísticos, universitarios, asociaciones de ayuda mutua y grupos empresariales) que defienden relaciones más inclusivas y horizontales, lo que muestra un otro tipo de impacto de Junio de 2013.

Résumé : Cet article aborde l’un des héritages de Juin 2013: la diffusion des collectives au-delà du champ des mouvements sociaux. Une recherche qualitative a été menée en systématisant les informations de 725 collectifs avec des profils de médias sociaux et de 21 entretiens avec des collectifs à Teresina, Brésil. Les résultats mettent en évidence quatre types de collectifs (artistiques, d’étudiants universitaires, associations d’entraide et groupes d’entreprises) qui défendent des relations plus inclusives et horizontales, montrant ainsi un autre type d’impact de Juin 2013.

Resumo: Este artigo aborda a disseminação de organizações chamadas de coletivos para além do campo dos movimentos sociais, um dos legados de Junho de 2013. A pesquisa qualitativa foi feita por meio da sistematização de informações de 725 coletivos com páginas em rede social e de 21 entrevistas com coletivos em Teresina (PI). Como resultados, o trabalho apresenta quatro tipos de coletivos (coletivos de artes, universitários, associações de ajuda mútua e grupos empresariais) que defendem relações mais inclusivas e horizontais, mostrando, então, um outro tipo de impacto de Junho de 2013.

ABSTRACT Background: Local studies are essential to determine the prevalence and risk factors of hepatitis C. Methods: We conducted a mixed methods study aimed at strengthening hepatitis C elimination efforts in Brazil, with concomitant triangulation of techniques and integration of qualitative and quantitative approaches. Results: The study resulted in the development of the following technical-technological products: a) institutional documents, b) organization of committees, c) mobilization strategies, d) models for improving intersectoral awareness, e) decision-making flowcharts, f) forms, and g) health service protocols and search strategies. Conclusions: The application of these research techniques generated valuable knowledge that could be adopted in various regions across Brazil, particularly in areas with economic and sociocultural diversity.

Abstract Background: Acute respiratory diseases are difficult to measure and contribute to a large number of ill-defined causes of death, which affects the reliability of mortality information. Objective: To verify the accuracy of the definition of the underlying cause of death for acute respiratory diseases registered in the Mortality Information System of the Federal District in 2018. Method: An accuracy study was conducted, with a minimum sample of 331 death certificates with the causes of death according to Chapter 10 (diseases of the respiratory system — J00-J99 — according to subcategories) of the International Classification of Diseases, version 10, considering the definition of the underlying cause of death by the research team as the gold standard. Sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values, and positive and negative likelihood ratios were calculated with their respective 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: Overall, 396 death certificates were included. High sensitivity was identified to determine acute lung diseases in the underlying cause of death (82.8%, 95%CI 78.6–86.5) and high specificity (93.1%, 95%CI 77.2–99.2). The probability of the declaration shows that negative false value was low (0.2, 95%CI 0.1–0.2). Conclusion: Death certificates due to acute respiratory diseases showed good results for accuracy and this study encourages similar studies for other conditions.

Resumo Introdução: As doenças respiratórias agudas apresentam difícil mensuração e contribuem para o grande número de causas de óbito mal definidas, o que afeta a confiabilidade das informações de mortalidade. Objetivo: Verificar a acurácia da definição da causa básica de óbito para doenças respiratórias agudas dos óbitos registrados no Sistema de Informações sobre Mortalidade do Distrito Federal em 2018. Método: Foi realizado um estudo de acurácia, com amostra mínima de 331 declarações de óbito com as causas de óbito do capítulo 10 (doenças do aparelho respiratório — J00-J99 — conforme subcategorias) da Classificação Internacional de Doenças na versão 10, considerando a definição de causa básica de óbito pela equipe de investigação como o padrão-ouro. Foram calculadas a sensibilidade, especificidade, valores preditivos positivo e negativo e as razões de verossimilhanças positivas e negativas com os respectivos intervalos de confiança a 95%. Resultados: Total de 396 declarações de óbito foram incluídas. Foi constatada alta sensibilidade para identificar doenças pulmonares agudas nas causas básicas de óbito (82,8%. IC95% 78,6–86,5) e alta especificidade (93,1%. IC95% 77,2–99,2). A probabilidade de a declaração apresentar resultado falso negativo foi baixa (0,2. IC95% 0,1–0,2). Conclusão: As declarações de óbito por doenças respiratórias agudas apresentaram bons resultados para acurácia e incitam a realização de estudos semelhantes para outras condições.

Abstract Objective To evaluate the mode of delivery according to Robson classification (RC) and the perinatal outcomes in fetal growth restriction (FGR) and small for gestational age (SGA) fetuses. Methods Retrospective cohort study by analyzing medical records of singleton pregnancies from two consecutive years (2018 and 2019). FGR was defined according to Delphi Consensus. The Robson groups were divided into two intervals (1–5.1 and 5.2–10). Results Total of 852 cases were included: FGR (n = 85), SGA (n = 20) and control (n=747). FGR showed higher percentages of newborns < 1,500 grams (p<0.001) and higher overall cesarean section (CS) rates (p<0.001). FGR had the highest rates of neonatal resuscitation and neonatal intensive care unit admission (p<0.001). SGA and control presented higher percentage of patients classified in 1 - 5.1 RC groups, while FGR had higher percentage in 5.2 - 10 RC groups (p<0.001). FGR, SGA and control did not differ in the mode of delivery in the 1-5.1 RC groups as all groups showed a higher percentage of vaginal deliveries (p=0.476). Conclusion Fetuses with FGR had higher CS rates and worse perinatal outcomes than SGA and control fetuses. Most FGR fetuses were delivered by cesarean section and were allocated in 5.2 to 10 RC groups, while most SGA and control fetuses were allocated in 1 to 5.1 RC groups. Vaginal delivery occurred in nearly 60% of FGR allocated in 1-5.1 RC groups without a significant increase in perinatal morbidity. Therefore, the vaginal route should be considered in FGR fetuses.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Neonatal pain management is considered one of the eight principles of neonatal care. This study aims to investigate the construct reflecting neonatal non-pharmacological pain management, in a Brazilian rooming-in unit, and identify the preferred intervention. METHODS: This survey study included 47 health professionals assessed through an in-person questionnaire. Factor analysis was conducted with a rotation using the Varimax method. Cronbach’s alpha was 0.78. RESULTS: The construct comprised three factors in the following order: 1) knowledge and impact of neonatal pain on parents, 2) the benefits of pain treatment, and 3) non-pharmacological interventions. Breastfeeding is part of the first factor, revealing its particular importance. The reduction of luminosity is part of the second factor. Non-nutritive sucking with sweet solution, kangaroo position, and music therapy are part of the third factor. CONCLUSION: The construct observed in this rooming-in identified three factors and suggests that breastfeeding is the preferred intervention to implement for non-pharmacological pain management in the neonate.

RESUMO JUSTIFICATIVA E OBJETIVOS: O manejo da dor neonatal é considerado um dos oito princípios do cuidado neonatal. O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar o construto que reflete o manejo não farmacológico da dor neonatal em uma unidade de alojamento conjunto brasileira e identificar a intervenção preferencial. MÉTODOS: Este estudo de pesquisa incluiu 47 profissionais de saúde avaliados por meio de um questionário presencial. A análise fatorial foi realizada com uma rotação usando o método Varimax. O alfa de Cronbach foi de 0,78. RESULTADOS: O construto foi composto por três fatores na seguinte ordem: 1) conhecimento e impacto da dor neonatal nos pais, 2) benefícios do tratamento da dor e 3) intervenções não farmacológicas. A amamentação faz parte do primeiro fator, revelando sua especial importância. A redução da luminosidade faz parte do segundo fator. A sucção não nutritiva com solução doce, a posição canguru e a musicoterapia fazem parte do terceiro fator. CONCLUSÃO: O construto observado neste alojamento conjunto identificou três fatores e sugere que o aleitamento materno é a intervenção preferencial a ser implementada para o controle não farmacológico da dor no recém-nascido.

Resumo: O dossiê tem como objetivo explorar e compreender, por meio de pesquisas empíricas, que elementos específicos de mobilização permitem compreender os modos de vida das juventudes, bem como as singularidades dos ciclos políticos e as formas de mobilização latino-americanas sob uma perspectiva geracional. Como resultado, reunimos quatro artigos com estudos de caso de mobilizações de jovens na América Latina, especificamente dois da Argentina, um do Brasil e outro do Chile. Destacamos nos textos a importância das lutas feministas que socializaram politicamente jovens que passaram a lutar por outras demandas, como a questão ambiental, sem deixar de lado as desigualdades relacionadas ao mundo do trabalho. As estratégias dos movimentos apresentados também revelam a importância da interação com as instituições estatais.

Abstract: The dossier aims to explore and understand, through empirical research, which specific elements of mobilization allow understanding the ways of life of youths, as well as the singularities of political cycles and Latin American forms of mobilization from a generational perspective. As a result, we gathered four articles with case studies of youth mobilizations in Latin America, specifically two from Argentina, one from Brazil and one from Chile. We highlight in the texts the importance of feminist struggles that politically socialized young people who started to fight for other demands, such as the environmental issue, without leaving aside the inequalities related to the world of work. The strategies of the movements presented also reveal the importance of interaction with state institutions.

Resumen: El dossier tiene lo objetivo de explorar y comprender, por medio de investigaciones empíricas, qué elementos específicos de la movilización permiten entender las formas de vida de las juventudes, al mismo tiempo que las singularidades de los ciclos políticos y las formas de movilización colectiva latinoamericanos desde una perspectiva generacional. Como resultado, reunimos cuatro artículos con estudios de casos de movilizaciones juveniles en América Latina, específicamente dos de Argentina, uno de Brasil y uno de Chile. Destacamos de los trabajos la importancia de las luchas feministas que socializaron políticamente a jóvenes que pasaron a luchar por otras demandas, como el tema ambiental, sin dejar de lado las desigualdades relacionadas con el mundo del trabajo. Las estrategias de los movimientos presentados también revelan la importancia de la interacción con las instituciones estatales.

Abstract The use of technology in healthcare has been growing more each day. Mobile devices make it possible for anyone to learn anywhere, anytime. OBJECTIVE: to investigate user satisfaction regarding the use of hypermedia for learning health education through mobile devices. METHODS: It consisted of 4 parts. At first, a pre-test questionnaire was applied, then there was the interaction with the hypermedia, later the post-test questionnaire was conducted. Finally, participants rated their satisfaction in regard to the use of hypermedia. RESULTS: findings showed that the participants considered the hypermedia appealing, desirable, promoted a feeling of integration and closeness, and had an enormous value in their application. CONCLUSIONS: this study demonstrated that the use of hypermedia on mobile devices for learning in healthcare is a creative, appealing, and effective solution. Also, it improves the teaching-learning process.

Resumo O uso da tecnologia na área da saúde tem crescido cada vez mais. Os dispositivos móveis possibilitam que as pessoas aprendam em qualquer lugar e a qualquer tempo. OBJETIVO: investigar a satisfação do usuário quanto ao uso de hipermídias para a aprendizagem de educação em saúde por meio de dispositivo móvel. MÉTODO: contou com 4 partes. Na primeira, foi aplicado um questionário pré-teste, em seguida houve a interação com as hipermídias, posteriormente aplicou-se o questionário pós-teste. Por fim, os participantes avaliaram a satisfação quanto ao uso das hipermídias. RESULTADOS: os resultados obtidos demonstraram que os participantes consideraram as hipermídias atraentes, desejadas, que elas promovem o sentimento de integração e aproximação, bem como tem um enorme valor em sua aplicação. CONCLUSÕES: a pesquisa demonstrou que o uso das hipermídias em dispositivos móveis para o aprendizado em cuidados em saúde é uma solução criativa, atrativa e eficaz e aprimora o processo ensino-aprendizagem.

Resumen: Este texto presenta el dossier “Juventudes latinoamericanas: desafíos y potencialidades en el contexto de la pandemia”, cuyo principal objetivo es visibilizar las experiencias de los jóvenes latinoamericanos durante el período de la pandemia, ofreciendo aportes a la resolución de los problemas emergentes y que se profundizaron durante el período. El Dossier reúne diez estudios sobre cinco países de América Latina que abordan los siguientes temas: el desplazamiento y la importancia del tiempo, el espacio y las perspectivas de futuro entre los jóvenes durante la pandemia, las desigualdades educativas emergentes y persistentes durante el período, especialmente em lo referido al acceso desigual a las TICs, la precaria vinculación al mercado laboral y la participación política de los jóvenes. O dossiê reúne dez estudos sobre cinco países da América Latina que abordam os seguintes temas: o deslocamento e a importância do tempo, do espaço e das perspectivas para o futuro entre os jovens durante a pandemia, as desigualdades educacionais reveladas e aprofundadas durante o período, especialmente, por conta do acesso desigual às Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TICs), a vinculação precária ao mercado de trabalho e a participação política das juventudes. Abstract: This text presents the dossier “Latin American youth: challenges and potentialities in the context of the pandemic” whose main objective is to make visible the experience of Latin American youth during the pandemic, offering contributions to the resolution of the revealed and deepened problems in this period. The Dossier brings together ten studies on five Latin American countries that address the themes: the displacement and importance of time, space and perspectives for the future among young people during the pandemic, inequality in the use of ICTs in the area of education, growth in precarious jobs and the political participation of youth. Due to the important contributions, we consider the Dossier as a landmark in the field of studies on Latin American youth and as a unique record of how the pandemic has impacted the lives of youth. Abstract: The research approaches Fourth-Wave Feminism in Brazil using some strategies. First, its characteristics were highlighted according to authors who write on the subject. Subsequently, we analyzed some of these characteristics (the presence in the digital environment, the defense of more than one agenda and the way they are being organized) based on data collected on all the pages of feminist organizations (114) registered on a digital social network (Facebook). Based on the results, we argue that contemporary feminisms are part of a fourth wave characterized by mobilization via digital media, adoption of intersectionality and organization in the form of collectives. In addition to pointing out traits of contemporary feminisms, the study problematizes the novelty and homogeneity sometimes associated with the fourth wave and its characteristics.

Resumo: A pesquisa aborda a quarta onda feminista no Brasil por meio de algumas estratégias. Primeiro foram destacadas suas características conforme autoras que dissertam sobre o tema. Posteriormente analisamos algumas dessas características (a presença no meio digital, a defesa de mais de uma pauta e a forma como estão se organizando) com base em dados coletados em todas as páginas de organizações feministas (114) cadastradas em uma rede social digital (Facebook). Com base nos resultados argumentamos que os feminismos contemporâneos fazem parte de uma quarta onda caracterizada no trabalho pela mobilização via meios de comunicação digitais, adoção da interseccionalidade e organização em forma de coletivos. Além de apontar traços dos feminismos contemporâneos, o texto problematiza a novidade e a homogeneidade por vezes associadas à quarta onda e às suas características.

Resumen: La investigación aborda la cuarta ola feminista en Brasil a través de algunas estrategias. En primer lugar, se destacaron sus características según autoras que hablan sobre el tema. Posteriormente, analizamos algunas de estas características (su presencia digital, la defensa de más de una agenda y la forma en que se están organizando) a partir de datos recogidos en todas las páginas de organizaciones feministas (114) registradas en una red social digital (Facebook). Con base en los resultados, argumentamos que los feminismos contemporáneos son parte de una cuarta ola caracterizada por la movilización a través de los medios digitales, la adopción de la interseccionalidad y la organización en forma de colectivos. Además de señalar rasgos de los feminismos contemporáneos, el texto problematiza la novedad y la homogeneidad a veces asociadas a la cuarta ola y sus características.

Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the contribution of oral and maxillofacial pathology laboratories (OMPLs) in Brazilian public universities to the diagnosis of lip, oral cavity, and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). A cross-sectional study was performed using biopsy records from a consortium of sixteen public OMPLs from all regions of Brazil (North, Northeast, Central-West, Southeast, and South). Clinical and demographic data of patients diagnosed with lip, oral cavity, and oropharyngeal SCC between 2010 and 2019 were collected from the patients’ histopathological records. Of the 120,010 oral and maxillofacial biopsies (2010-2019), 6.9% (8,321 cases) were diagnosed as lip (0.8%, 951 cases), oral cavity (4.9%, 5,971 cases), and oropharyngeal (1.2%, 1,399 cases) SCCs. Most cases were from Brazil’s Southeast (64.5%), where six of the OMPLs analyzed are located. The predominant profile of patients with lip and oral cavity SCC was Caucasian men, with a mean age over 60 years, low schooling level, and a previous history of heavy tobacco consumption. In the oropharyngeal group, the majority were non-Caucasian men, with a mean age under 60 years, had a low education level, and were former/current tobacco and alcohol users. According to data from the Brazilian National Cancer Institute, approximately 9.9% of the total lip, oral cavity, and oropharyngeal SCCs reported over the last decade in Brazil may have been diagnosed at the OMPLs included in the current study. Therefore, this data confirms the contribution of public OMPLs with respect to the important diagnostic support they provide to the oral healthcare services extended by the Brazilian Public Health System.

Abstract: To capture how student youths understood the main problems and solutions in the pandemic, qualitative research verified all 282 news published between March 2020 and September 2021 on the virtual pages of two large student organizations in Brazil and Argentina: the National Union of Students (União Nacional dos Estudantes, UNE) and the Argentine University Federation (Federación Universitaria Argentina, FUA). The results show similarities and differences in the way the two organizations perceived the most important issues in their countries during the period. While in Argentina, even during the pandemic, the news was mostly about rescuing the memory of the dictatorship, in Brazil the biggest concern was with income and lives threatened by the poor handling of the pandemic by the Bolsonaro government. In terms of similarities, the two organizations expressed concern about gender inequalities, reaffirming the importance of this agenda in recent years.

Resumo: Para captar como as juventudes estudantis compreenderam os principais problemas e soluções na pandemia, a pesquisa qualitativa verificou todas as 282 notícias divulgadas entre março de 2020 e setembro de 2021 nas páginas virtuais de duas grandes organizações de estudantes no Brasil e na Argentina: a União Nacional dos Estudantes (UNE) e a Federação Universitária Argentina (Federación Universitaria Argentina, FUA). Os resultados mostraram semelhanças e diferenças na forma como as duas organizações perceberam os temas mais importantes em seus países durante o período. Enquanto na Argentina, mesmo durante a pandemia, as notícias, em sua maioria, versavam sobre o resgate da memória da ditadura, no Brasil a preocupação maior foi com a renda e as vidas ameaçadas pela má condução da pandemia por parte do governo Bolsonaro. No que diz respeito às semelhanças, as duas organizações expressaram preocupação com as desigualdades de gênero, reafirmando a importância dessa agenda nos últimos anos.

Resumen: Para captar cómo los jóvenes estudiantes entendieron los principales problemas y soluciones de la pandemia, la investigación cualitativa verificó las 282 noticias publicadas entre marzo de 2020 y septiembre de 2021 en las páginas virtuales de dos grandes organizaciones estudiantiles de Brasil y Argentina: la Unión Nacional de Estudiantes (União Nacional dos Estudantes, UNE) y la Federación Universitaria Argentina (FUA). Los resultados muestran similitudes y diferencias en la forma en que las dos organizaciones percibieron los temas más importantes en sus países durante el período. Mientras que en Argentina, incluso durante la pandemia, la noticia se centró principalmente en rescatar la memoria de la dictadura, en Brasil la mayor preocupación fue con los ingresos y las vidas amenazadas por el mal manejo de la pandemia por parte del gobierno de Bolsonaro. En cuanto a las similitudes, ambas organizaciones expresaron su preocupación por las desigualdades de género, reafirmando la importancia de esta agenda en los últimos años.
