Resumen: Objetivo: Caracterizar el comportamiento de COVID-19 en niños chilenos hospitalizados en unidades de paciente crítico pediátrico (UPCP) y evaluar factores de riesgo para COVID-19 severo. Pacientes y Método: Estudio multicéntrico cohorte prospectivo, pacientes 0-18 años con SARS-CoV-2 confirmado hospitalizados en UPCP. Se registraron variables clínicas, laboratorio, imagenológicas y terapéuticas. Se comparó “COVID-19 leve/moderado” versus “COVID-19 severo” utilizando mediana con rango intercuartil (RIC), test U Mann-Whitney, Test Fisher de dos colas y análisis multivariado binario forward para ajuste de variables para “COVID-19 severo”. Significativo p < 0,05. Resultados: 219 pacientes, 55,3% hombres, mediana edad 86 meses (RIC: 13,5-156). Comorbilidades principales: obesidad, enfermedades respiratorias. Mortalidad global: 3,6%. “COVID-19 severo” (26,5%) mostró más leucopenia, linfopenia, más inflamación y alteración de órganos (p < 0,05). También desarrolló más Sepsis/shock, SDRA y disfunción de órganos, requirió más terapia hemodinámica, antiinflamatoria, anticoagulación, antibioterapia, con mayor estadía en UPCP/hospitalaria (p < 0,05) y mortalidad de 13,8%. Factores de riesgo asociados a “COVID-19 severo”: shock al ingreso (aOR 28,44 [IC95%: 10,45-77,4]), obesidad (aOR 3,55 [IC95%: 1,3-9,6]), condensación (aOR 3,1 [IC95%: 1,1-8,7]), atelectasia (aOR: 8.7 [IC95%: 1,17-64,3]), corticoides dosis de estrés (aOR 7,7 [IC95%: 1,9-30,6]), antibioterapia precoz (aOR: 12,02 [IC95%: 1,11-130,02]), inmunodeficiencia adquirida/ congénita (aOR: 19,2 [IC95%: 1,19-321]) y patología oncológica (aOR: 10,7 [IC95%: 2,14-47,8]). Conclusión: En esta cohorte pediátrica chilena, el perfil de paciente que ingresó a UPCP fue de sexo masculino en edad escolar con comorbilidad asociada. Factores de riesgo asociados a COVID-19 severo fueron: presencia de comorbilidades (inmunodeficiencia adquirida/congénita, patología oncológica y obesidad), shock al ingreso y condensaciones en las imágenes radiológicas.

It also developed more sepsis/shock, ARDS, and organ dysfunction, requiring more hemodynamic, anti-inflammatory, anticoagulation, and antibiotic therapy, with a longer stay in the PICU/hospital (p < 0.05), and 13.8% of mortality. Risk factors associated with “severe COVID-19” were shock on admission to the PICU [aOR 28.44 (95%CI 10.45-77.4)], obesity [aOR 3.55 (95%CI 1.3-9.6)], consolidation [aOR 3.1 (95%CI 1.1 -8.7)], atelectasis [aOR: 8.7 (95%CI 1.17-64.3)], stress dose of corticosteroids [aOR 7.7 (95%CI 1.9-30.6)], early antibiotic therapy [aOR: 12.02 (95%CI 1.11-130.02)], acquired/congenital immunodeficiency [aOR: 19.2 (95%CI: 1.19-321)], and oncological pathology [aOR 10.7 (95%CI 2.14-47.8)]. Conclusion: In this Chilean pediatric cohort, most patients with COVID-19 admitted to de PICU were male, of school age, with associated comorbidity. Risk factors for developing severe COVID-19 were the presence of comorbidities such as acquired/congenital immunodeficiency, oncological pathology, and obesity, in addition to shock on admission and consolidations on X-rays.

Formative assessment is conceived as an essential factor to improve the teaching and learning process. The success of its implementation in university classrooms lies in its assessment tools. In this context, this research aims to analyze the benefits of the application of assessment instruments in the formation of professional competencies among university students. To this end, a consultation of articles indexed in Scopus and Scielo was executed. The perception of university students on the rubric and other assessment instruments was also explored. The used methodology was based on a literature review so as to analyze and synthesize the results of the selected publications. The results show that the assessment instruments improve the evaluation process, academic performance, and the acquisition of professional competencies. Likewise, the university students were satisfied with this new assessment modality, highlighting the benefits thereof for both their training and subsequent professional practice.

La evaluación formativa se concibe como un factor esencial para mejorar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje; el éxito de su implementación en las aulas universitarias radica en las herramientas para lograrlo. El objetivo de la presente investigación se relaciona con analizar los beneficios de la aplicación de instrumentos de evaluación en la formación de competencias profesionales de estudiantes universitarios, con base en artículos indexados en Scopus y Scielo. Además, se propuso revisar la percepción de los alumnos universitarios sobre la rúbrica y otros instrumentos de evaluación. Para ello, la metodología utilizada se basó en una revisión de literatura con la finalidad de analizar y sintetizar los resultados de las publicaciones seleccionadas. Los resultados evidencian que los instrumentos de evaluación mejoran el proceso evaluativo, el rendimiento académico y la adquisición de competencias profesionales. Asimismo, los universitarios se sintieron satisfechos hacia esta nueva modalidad de evaluación, y destacaron sus beneficios para la formación y posterior ejercicio profesional.

A avaliação formativa é concebida como fator essencial para melhorar o processo de ensino-aprendizagem; O sucesso da sua implementação nas salas de aula universitárias reside nas ferramentas para alcançá-lo. O objetivo desta pesquisa está relacionado a analisar os benefícios da aplicação de instrumentos de avaliação na formação de competências profissionais de estudantes universitários, com base em artigos indexados no Scopus e Scielo. Além disso, propôs-se revisar a percepção dos estudantes universitários sobre a rubrica e demais instrumentos de avaliação. Para tanto, a metodologia utilizada baseou-se em uma revisão de literatura com o objetivo de analisar e sintetizar os resultados das publicações selecionadas. Os resultados mostram que os instrumentos de avaliação melhoram o processo avaliativo, o desempenho acadêmico e a aquisição de competências profissionais. Da mesma forma, os estudantes universitários sentiram-se satisfeitos com esta nova modalidade de avaliação e destacaram os seus benefícios para a formação e posterior prática profissional.

ABSTRACT Information and communication technologies are digital tools capable of interconnecting people for different purposes. It is through them and a greater interactivity that new educational experiences have arisen to better adapt to the personal needs of each student. In this context, this study aims to analyze information related to the relevance of ICT use in learning within secondary education and during the last decade, through a systematic review of the literature under the PRISMA method. A total of 58 articles were compiled in the selection process. The review result indicated that ICTs are considered innovative tools within the educational field, and their significance has considerably grown as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there are still a few challenges to overcome to implement them efficiently, this step requiring hard work on the part of teachers and educational institutions themselves.

RESUMEN Las tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TIC) son herramientas digitales capaces de interconectar a las personas con diversos fines. A partir de ellas y de una mayor interactividad, se ha buscado crear una experiencia educativa que se adapte mejor a las necesidades independientes de los estudiantes. En ese contexto, este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar información sobre la relevancia del uso de las TIC en el aprendizaje dentro de la educación secundaria y durante la última década, mediante una revisión sistemática de la literatura bajo el método PRISMA. Como resultado del proceso de selección, se recopilaron 58 artículos acerca de esta temática. A partir de lo obtenido en esta revisión, se observa que las TIC ya se muestran como herramientas revolucionarias dentro del ámbito educativo, y que su importancia ha crecido considerablemente a raíz de la pandemia del COVID-19. Sin embargo, aún queda una serie de retos por vencer para poder implementarlas eficientemente, lo que requiere de un arduo trabajo por parte de los docentes y de las propias instituciones educativas.

ABSTRACT Background: In Peru, the current immunization schedule for COVID-19 includes BBIBP-CorV, BNT162B2 and ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccines. Although the full immunization schedule is two doses, some countries have recently included a booster dose to their schedule. Methods: We conducted a search for scientific evidence del artículo on the efficacy and safety of booster vaccination with BNT162b2 vaccine in a population with a complete vaccination schedule for COVID-19 in Peru. Evidence: Four evidence-based recommendation documents, one observational study and three ongoing phase III clinical trials were included for analysis. Conclusion: To date, there is insufficient evidence on the efficacy of adding a booster dose to the immunization schedule for COVID-19. The available evidence does not justify the use of a booster dose of BNT162B2 vaccine in a population that has previously received two doses of the aforementioned vaccines.

RESUMEN Introducción: En el Perú, el programa actual de inmunización para COVID-19 comprende las vacunas BBIBP-CorV, BNT162B2 y ChAdOx1 nCoV-19. Si bien el esquema de inmunización es de dos dosis, algunos países han incluido recientemente una dosis de refuerzo a su esquema. Métodos: Se realizó una búsqueda de evidencia científica sobre la eficacia y seguridad de la vacunación de refuerzo con la vacuna BNT162b2 en población con esquema de vacunación completa para COVID-19 en Perú. Evidencia incluida: Se consideraron cuatro documentos de recomendación basados en evidencia, un estudio observacional y tres ensayos clínicos fase III en curso. Conclusión: A la fecha, no existe evidencia suficiente sobre la eficacia de agregar una dosis de refuerzo al esquema de inmunización para COVID-19. La evidencia disponible no permite justificar el uso de una dosis de refuerzo con la vacuna BNT162B2 en población que recibió previamente dos dosis de las vacunas anteriormente mencionadas.

Methods: This review adheres to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis (PRISMA) and follows the guidelines provided in the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions. A librarian developed and executed the search strategy; it was further reviewed by two of the authors and complemented by manual search. Randomized clinical trials, quasi-experimental studies, cohort studies, case-control studies, cross-sectional studies, and case reports were included; in vitro or animal studies were excluded. Abstract and full-text screening according to pre-defined eligibility criteria were performed by two reviewers independently using web application Rayyan QCRI. Disagreements on study selection were resolved by a third reviewer. The systematic review protocol was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42020200641). Results: Neither published nor pre-print studies evaluating the use of chlorine dioxide or derivatives on SARS-CoV-2 infection were identified. The only finding was an unpublished observational study registry which has no results released yet. Conclusions: To date, there are no scientific evidence to uphold the use of chlorine dioxide or derivatives as preventive or therapeutic agents against COVID-19.

Solo se identificó el registro de un único estudio catalogado como observacional que hasta ahora no tiene resultados. Conclusiones: A la fecha, no existe evidencia científica que apoye el uso del dióxido de cloro o derivados del cloro para prevenir o tratar la COVID-19.

Introduction: The most common extramuscular manifestation of the idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) is interstitial lung disease (ILD) and the diagnosis is based on serum autoantibodies. The new specific and associated antibodies to IIM have helped to identify new clinical entities in the spectrum of IIM. The objective of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic contribution of a myositis antibodies panel (MP) in a cohort of Chilean patients with ILD without a definitive connective tissue disease (CTD). Materials and Methods: Starting on January 2017 we performed a MP to 111 consecutive patients with ILD and suspected CTD but without a definitive diagnosis through another diagnostic tools in the Lung-Rheumatological Program at the “Instituto Nacional del Tórax”, Santiago, Chile. The clinical and serological baseline characteristics of the patients that were most frequently associated with the probability of having a positive panel were compared. Results: The MP was positive in 56 of 111 patients. Anti synthetase syndrome (ASS) was the most prevalent diagnosis. The most frequent antibodies were Ro-52, PM/Scl-75 and Ku. The most frequent variables in the positive MP group were the presence of Raynaud’s phenomenon, myositis, mechanic’s hands, positive Ro and La antibodies and the presence of combined pattern of nonspecific interstitial pneumonia and organizing pneumonia in chest computed tomography scan. Conclusions: The incorporation of the MP has helped us to improve our diagnostic precision of patients with CTD/ILD. We present clinical and serological elements that refine the performance of the test.

Resumen Introducción: La manifestación extramuscular de las miopatías inflamatorias idiopáticas (MII) es la enfermedad pulmonar intersticial (EPI) y el diagnóstico se basa en autoanticuerpos séricos. Los nuevos anticuerpos específicos y asociados a MII han ayudado a identificar nuevas entidades clínicas en el espectro de MII. El objetivo de este estudio es evaluar la contribución diagnóstica de un panel de anticuerpos de miositis (PM) en una cohorte de pacientes chilenos con EPI sin una enfermedad del tejido conectivo (ETC) definitiva. Materiales y Métodos: A partir de enero de 2017 se realizó un panel de miositis a 111 pacientes consecutivos con EPI y sospecha de ETC, pero sin un diagnóstico definitivo a través de otra herramienta diagnóstica, en el programa de Pulmón-Reumatológico del Instituto Nacional del Tórax, Santiago, Chile. Se compararon las características basales clínicas y serológicas de los pacientes que se asociaban más frecuentemente a la probabilidad de tener un panel positivo. Resultados: El PM fue positivo en 56 de 111 pacientes. El síndrome antisintetasa (SAS) fue el diagnóstico más frecuente. Los anticuerpos más frecuentes fueron Ro-52, PM / Scl-75 y Ku. Las variables más frecuentes en el grupo PM(+) fueron la presencia del Raynaud, miositis, manos de mecánico, los anticuerpos Ro y La positivos, la presencia de un patrón combinado de neumonía intersticial inespecífica y neumonía organizada en la tomografía computarizada de tórax. Conclusiones: la incorporación del PM nos ha ayudado a mejorar nuestra precisión diagnóstica en pacientes con EPI / ETC. Presentamos elementos clínicos y serológicos que perfeccionan el rendimiento de la prueba.

ABSTRACT The Instituto de Evaluación de Tecnologías en Salud e Investigación (IETSI) of the Seguro Social de Salud (EsSalud) has completed seven brief reports by means of rapid reviews of evidence regarding the potentially effective therapies against SARS-CoV-2 in order to provide current and relevant information for decision makers, clinicians, researchers and the academic community in Peru. The therapeutic agents evaluated were chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine, lopinavir/ritonavir, tocilizumab, oseltamivir, interferon, atazanavir and anti SARS-CoV-2 serum. Evidence identification included the review of PubMed and Cochrane Library electronic databases. Additionally, manual search was carried out on websites from groups dedicated to research and education on health, as well as in the main specialized societies or institutions, such as, the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Furthermore, in order to reduce publication bias, the websites: www.clinicaltrials.gov and http://apps.who.int/trialsearch were searched to identify in-progress or unpublished clinical trials. Finally, a "snowball" strategy was performed by reviewing the reference lists of the systematic reviews, primary studies and selected narrative reviews to identify relevant information. The latest review (March 27, 2020) showed that there is no evidence to recommend any medication for patients´ treatment with COVID-19. More evidence, preferably high-quality randomized clinical trials, is needed for decision-making against SARS-CoV-2.

RESUMEN El Instituto de Evaluación de Tecnologías en Salud e Investigación (IETSI) del Seguro Social de Salud (EsSalud) ha desarrollado siete informes breves mediante revisiones rápidas de evidencia sobre los agentes potencialmente terapéuticos contra el SARS-CoV-2 con la finalidad de brindar información actual y relevante para los decisores, clínicos, investigadores y la comunidad académica en el Perú. Los agentes terapéuticos evaluados incluyeron cloroquina/hidroxicloroquina, lopinavir/ritonavir, tocilizumab, oseltamivir, interferón, atazanavir y plasma anti-SARS-CoV-2. La identificación de evidencia incluyó la revisión de las bases electrónicas PubMed y Cochrane Library. Adicionalmente, se realizó una búsqueda manual en las páginas web de grupos dedicados a la investigación y educación en salud, así como, en las principales sociedades o instituciones especializadas, como la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) y los Centros para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades (CDC, por sus siglas en inglés). Asimismo, para disminuir el sesgo de publicación, se buscó en las páginas web www.clinicaltrials.gov y http://apps.who.int/trialsearch, para identificar ensayos clínicos en desarrollo o que no hayan sido publicados aún. Finalmente, se consideró extraer información con una estrategia de «bola de nieve» mediante la revisión de las listas de referencias de las revisiones sistemáticas, estudios primarios y revisiones narrativas que sean de relevancia. A la fecha de la última revisión (27 de marzo de 2020), no se dispone de evidencia para recomendar un medicamento específico para el tratamiento de pacientes con COVID-19. Se necesita de mayor evidencia, preferentemente ensayos clínicos de buena calidad, para la toma de decisiones terapéuticas contra el SARS-CoV-2.

ABSTRACT The Instituto de Evaluación de Tecnologías en Salud e Investigación (IETSI) of the Seguro Social de Salud (EsSalud) has completed seven brief reports by means of rapid reviews of evidence regarding the potentially effective therapies against SARS-CoV-2 in order to provide current and relevant information for decision makers, clinicians, researchers and the academic community in Peru. The therapeutic agents evaluated were chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine, lopinavir/ritonavir, tocilizumab, oseltamivir, interferon, atazanavir and anti SARS-CoV-2 serum. Evidence identification included the review of PubMed and Cochrane Library electronic databases. Additionally, manual search was carried out on websites from groups dedicated to research and education on health, as well as in the main specialized societies or institutions, such as, the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Furthermore, in order to reduce publication bias, the websites: www.clinicaltrials.gov and http://apps.who.int/trialsearch were searched to identify in-progress or unpublished clinical trials. Finally, a "snowball" strategy was performed by reviewing the reference lists of the systematic reviews, primary studies and selected narrative reviews to identify relevant information. The latest review (March 27, 2020) showed that there is no evidence to recommend any medication for patients´ treatment with COVID-19. More evidence, preferably high-quality randomized clinical trials, is needed for decision-making against SARS-CoV-2.

A descriptive/comparative research is presented with the aim of knowing engagement levels in university volunteers and associative organizations volunteers' groups. The Utrecht Work Engagement Scale was administered; it measures vigor, absorption and dedication scales and engagement levels. The sample of this research was intentional non-probabilistic, composed of (a) volunteers from the National University of Mar del Plata (UNMDP) participating during the last 4 years in extension and volunteering projects and (b) associative organizations volunteers from Mar del Plata. Basic descriptive were calculated and non-probabilistic statistics were applied to compare volunteering groups. Results show critical differences between sex in dedication and vigor, between training levels in vigor and engagement (total score). No critical levels were found between volunteering type, age and seniority as a volunteer.

Se presenta una investigación descriptiva/comparativa que tiene como finalidad conocer niveles de engagement en voluntarios universitarios y voluntarios de organizaciones asociativas. Se administró el Utrecht Work Engagement Scale que mide las escalas vigor, absorción, dedicación y el nivel de engagement. La muestra de esta investigación fue intencional, no probabilística, compuesta por: (a) voluntarios de la Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata (UNMDP) que han participado en los últimos 4 años en proyectos de extensión y voluntariado universitario y (b) voluntarios de organizaciones asociativas de Mar del Plata. Fueron calculados descriptivos básicos y aplicados estadísticos no paramétricos con la finalidad de comparar grupos de voluntarios. Los resultados muestran diferencias críticas cuando se agrupa por sexo en dedicación y vigor, por nivel de instrucción/formación en vigor y engagement (puntaje total). No se encontraron niveles críticos agrupando por tipo de voluntariado, por edad ni por antigüedad como voluntario.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVES: To develop a deprivation index to study health inequalities in 221 areas of Ecuador, to describe the pattern of deprivation in Ecuador, and to explore the applications of the index to study health inequalities by analysing the association between deprivation and mortality in the study areas. METHODS: We performed principal component analyses of available indicators of the 221 cantons of Ecuador. A set of 41 sociodemographic, social capital, and subjective well-being variables were obtained from the 2010 National Population Census and the National Living Conditions Survey 2013–2014. To explore the application of the index in public health, the association between the index and standardised mortality ratios was estimated through a Poisson regression model. RESULTS: The final index was constructed with 17 indicators. The first component explained 51.8% of the total variance of the data. A geographic pattern and a positive association of the index with the standardised mortality ratios of the cantons were observed in both men and women. CONCLUSIONS: We constructed a deprivation index that can identify disadvantaged areas in Ecuador. This index could be a valuable tool for the detection of vulnerabilised populations and the development of interventions and policies adapted to local needs.

ABSTRACT The investigation evaluates the incidence of management strategies in the financial administration and use of the information technologies of the micro entrepreneurs of the south sector of the General Enríquez Gallo neighborhood of La Libertad Canton, Province of Santa Elena. The problem is based on the fact that the micro companies created in this sector considered one of the largest the canton, were not structured properly in the financial area and good use of information technologies. The methodology used was quantitative with a survey applied to the workers of the microenterprises; In addition, a qualitative analysis was carried out with an interview carried out with micro entrepreneurs, obtaining as a result the creation of a Pre-Cooperative of Consumption, incorporated into a training plan in information technologies and financial management manuals, generating a greater associativity among them.

RESUMEN La investigación evalúa la incidencia de estrategias de gestión en la administración financiera y uso de las tecnologías de la información de los microempresarios del sector sur del barrio General Enríquez Gallo del cantón La Libertad, provincia de Santa Elena. El problema se fundamenta en que las microempresas creadas en este sector, considerado como uno de los más grandes del cantón, no fueron estructuradas adecuadamente en el área financiera y el buen uso de las tecnologías de la información. La metodología utilizada fue de tipo cuantitativo con una encuesta aplicada a los trabajadores de las microempresas; además se efectuó un análisis cualitativo con una entrevista efectuada a los microempresarios, obteniendo como resultado la creación de una Pre Cooperativa de Consumo, incorporado a un plan de capacitación en tecnologías de la información y manuales de gestión financiera, generando una mayor asociatividad entre ellos. .
