Abstract When ice forms on solid surfaces, it can cause issues in many different sectors (aircraft, electricity lines, etc.). Surfaces and coatings with hydrophobic qualities may be used in anti-icing applications. The purpose of this work is to utilize RF Magneton Sputtering to deposit AZO thin coatings, which will slow the accumulation of ice on the surface. The effects of changes in argon partial pressure on the anti-icing, wettability, optical, and structural properties of the resulting thin films have been experimentally investigated. X-ray diffraction demonstrated a (002) peak of ZnO, the intensity of the peak diminishes with an increase in partial pressure. The band gap was measured to be between 2.98 and 3.15 eV, and the average maximum transmittance was observed to be around 82% for 50% partial pressure and 71% for 33% partial pressure, confirming the transparency of the thin films. Wettability studies revealed that the films are hydrophobic with a maximum contact angle of 127.5°, which was deposited at lower partial pressure. Films deposited at 33% partial pressure delayed the formation of ice on the surface by 4.5 folds when compared to an uncoated substrate.

Abstract In this paper, a compact elliptic-response microstrip low pass filter (LPF) is presented with a wide stop-band using stepped impedance resonators. With high attenuation in the stop-band, the overall size reduction of the proposed filter is achieved using a novel defected ground structure technique using an interdigital capacitor and complementary split ring resonator (CSRR). A 4.2 GHz LPF is designed and simulated on FR4 substrate and a stop band of 8.8 GHz is obtained by utilizing interdigital and complementary split ring resonator. Results further show that the use of U-shaped high impedance line on the top layer of filter enhances the stop-band bandwidth by 2.2 GHz. In the final design, the passband insertion loss is found below 0.5 dB, and –10 dB is obtained over a band from 5.06 GHz to 17.06 GHz between input and output ports. The normalized circuit size of the filter is 0.417× 0.202 and the figure of merit is calculated about 55 at the cut-off frequency. These proposed LPFs have promised significant advantages in the stop-band characteristics with an acceptable roll-off rate for spurious-free communications.

Pharmacokinetics of tolfenamic acid as a single drug (4 mg/kg, intramuscularly) and its co-administration with moxifloxacin (5 mg/kg, intramuscularly) in wistar rats were studied. The plasma drug concentration of tolfenamic acid was assayed by LC-MS/MS. Following intramuscular administration of tolfenamic acid as single drug and in combination with moxifloxacin in male rats, the mean values of observed peak plasma drug concentration (Cmax), area under plasma drug concentration-time curve (AUC(0-¥) ), volume of distribution (Vz), half-life (t½) and clearance (Cl) were 4111.44 ± 493.15 and 3837.69 ± 351.83 ng/ml, 20280.77 ± 3501.67 and 15229.18 ± 678.80 ng.h/ml, 822.17 ± 115.38 and 1249.64 ± 139.52 ml, 2.59 ± 0.16 and 3.27 ± 0.32 hr, and 218.39 ± 25.47 and 265.18 ± 11.36 ml/hr, respectively. The peak plasma drug concentration (Cmax) was significantly higher in female rats compared to male rats. The volume of distribution (Vz) of the drug was significantly higher (P < 0.05) in moxifloxacin-treated male rats compared to female rats. Concomitant administration of moxifloxacin may alter the disposition of tolfenamic acid in male rats.
