ABSTRACT Introduction: The study of comorbidity requires a multilateral approach with a view to improving the quality of care for these patients by the care system. Objectives: To explore the magnitude of the comorbidity of chronic diseases in adults admitted to hospitals. Methods: Prospective-observational-longitudinal-analytical study. Patients hospitalized in a medical clinic room or clinical patients in indiscriminate hospitalization rooms are included, Multicenter study in 42 centers, with 2 years of recruitment. Consecutive sampling. Descriptive, inferential and regression statistics. Results: 5925 recruited, male gender 50,3%, age 60,66 ± 0,25 years, main origin from the guard 73%, stay 12,61 ± 0,24 days, longer in surgical (15,45 ± 0,67 vs 11,76 ± 0,23, p < 0,00001), 23% received surgical treatment. Main educational level: complete secondary school 21,6%. Economic difficulties: 20%, mortality 9,26%, prevalence of dyslipidemia, diabetes and hypertension: 22,53%, 28,82% and 51,86% with 473 new diagnoses in said pathologies, BMI: 27,88 ± 0,65, Global Charlson 2,09 ± 0,02 and in deaths 3,84 ± 0,11. The average number of pathologies per patient was 2,14 ± 0,01 and increased with age (p value for linear regression < 0,00001). Conclusions: Hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia represented the most prevalent entities in the clinical hospitalization room, cardiovascular, respiratory, infectious, oncological, neurological, metabolic and nephrological diseases were independent predictors of mortality.

RESUMEN Introducción: El estudio de la comorbilidad requiere de un enfoque multilateral con vistas a mejorar la calidad de la atención de los enfermos por el sistema de atención. Objetivos: Explorar la magnitud de la comorbilidad de enfermedades crónicas en adultos internados en los hospitales. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio prospectivo-observacional-longitudinal-analítico. Se incluyeron pacientes internados en las Salas de Clínica Médica o pacientes clínicos en Salas de Internación Indiscriminada. Se realizó un estudio multicéntrico en 42 centros en un período de 2 años, con un muestreo consecutivo. Para el estudio se tuvo en cuenta la estadística descriptiva, inferencial y de regresión. Resultados: El total de pacientes en el estudio fue de 5925, masculinos con el 50,3 % de edad 60,66 ± 0,25 años. Principal procedencia desde la guardia el 73 %. La estadía hospitalaria de 12,61 ± 0,24 días, mayormente en pacientes quirúrgicos (15,45 ± 0,67 vs 11,76 ± 0,23; p < 0,00001). El 23 % recibió tratamiento quirúrgico. El principal nivel educativo: secundario completo 21,6 %. Dificultades económicas: 20 %, mortalidad 9,26 %; prevalencia de dislipemia, diabetes e hipertensión: 22,53 %; 28,82 % y 51,86 % con 473 nuevos diagnósticos, IMC: 27,88 ± 0,65, Charlson global 2,09 ± 0,02 y en óbitos 3,84 ± 0,11. La media de patologías por paciente fue de 2,14 ± 0,01 y aumentó con la edad (p valor regresión lineal < 0,00001). Conclusiones: La hipertensión, la diabetes y la dislipemia representaron las entidades más prevalentes en Salas de Internación Clínica, Las enfermedades cardiovasculares, respiratorias, infectológicas, oncológicas, neurológicas, metabólicas y nefrológicas fueron predictores independientes de mortalidad.

Abstract Introduction: Hospitalization at Home (HaH) Units present differences in their content and conditions of care. The Basque HaH Society initiated a research project in 2018 to define useful indicators to compare the activity of teams with different care content. One phase of the project involved recording characteristics of episodes attended and care provided. It is of interest to disclose the results of the registry. Method: Between May 1 and May 31, 2021, 9 Units recorded certain characteristics of the patients seen, as well as type, frequency and duration of visits performed. Descriptive data on these variables are shown for the overall series and for each unit. Results: 1171 episodes and 8363 visits in 14458 stays were analysed (82% of actual stays). On average, 65% of patients received a visit during working days and 42% during non-working days. The percentage of cases in each clinical type varied according to Units: acute pathology between 12 and 48%; palliative care between 20% and 40%; surgical pathology between 2.3 and 30%. There were also differences in age, sex and geographical dispersion. Mortality and hospital referral varied between Units and also between pathologies. The duration of direct care varied between Units from 24.4 to 35.9 min, and the duration of travel for each visit from 11.9 to 25 min, probably related to the type of pathology and geographical dispersion, respectively. Conclusions: There are indeed differences in the content and working conditions of the different HaH Units. It is necessary to analyse how much they influence the activity and outcome measures in order to have adjusted indicators.

Resumen Introducción: Las Unidades de Hospitalización a Domicilio (HaD) presentan diferencias en su contenido y condiciones de asistencia. La Sociedad Vasca de HaD inició en 2018 un proyecto de investigación para definir indicadores que permitan comparar la actividad de equipos que tienen contenidos asistenciales diferentes. Una fase del proyecto implicó el registro de características de los episodios atendidos y la atención prestada. Dar a conocer el resultado del registro es de interés. Método: Entre 1 y 31 de mayo de 2021, 9 Unidades registraron ciertas características de los pacientes atendidos, así como tipo, frecuencia y duración de las visitas realizadas. Se muestran los descriptivos de estas variables en la serie global y en cada Unidad. Resultados: Se analizaron 1171 episodios y 8363 visitas en 14458 estancias. (82% de estancias reales). De media, en laborable se visitó al 65% de los pacientes y en no laborable al 42%. El porcentaje de casos en cada tipo clínico varió según Unidades: patología aguda entre 12 y 48%; cuidados paliativos entre 20% y 40%; patología quirúrgica entre 2.3 y 30 %. Se apreciaron también diferencias en edad, sexo y dispersión geográfica. Mortalidad y reenvío al hospital variaron entre Unidades y también entre patologías. La duración de la atención directa varió entre Unidades entre 24,4 y 35.9 min, y la del desplazamiento para cada visita entre 11.9 y 25 min, en probable relación con el tipo de patología y la dispersión geográfica respectivamente. Conclusiones: Se constata que existen diferencias en el contenido y condiciones de trabajo de las distintas Unidades de H a D. Es necesario analizar cómo influyen en las medidas de actividad y de resultado para disponer de indicadores ajustados.

RESUMEN El hemangioendotelioma epiteloide hepático (HEH) es un tumor vascular, de etiología no aclarada, extraordinariamente infrecuente. La ausencia de características clínicas, analíticas y radiológicas especificas dificulta su correcto diagnóstico. El tratamiento del HEH depende del tamaño y localización tumoral, la extensión extrahepática y la condición médica del paciente. Entre las posibles opciones se encuentra el trasplante hepático, que obtiene unos buenos resultados clínicos, aunque el riesgo de recidiva no es despreciable. Presentamos un nuevo caso de HEH tratado mediante trasplante hepático.

ABSTRACT Hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (HEHE) is an extremely rare vascular tumor of unclear etiology. The diagnosis is difficult due to the absence of specific clinical characteristics, laboratory tests results and radiological findings. The management of HEHE depends on tumor size, location, extrahepatic extension, and patients’ medical status. Liver transplantation is one of the possible options with good clinical results, although the risk of recurrence is not negligible. We present a new case of HEHE managed with liver transplantation.

Resumen Algunas de las consecuencias del cambio climático se manifestarán en variaciones temporales y espaciales de la precipitación y en un incremento en la demanda evaporativa de la atmósfera, lo que a su vez propiciará un incremento en la demanda de riego de cultivos agrícolas. En este trabajo se analizó la variación temporal de los requerimientos de riego agroclimáticos (RRa) para maíz en el DR001 Pabellón, Aguascalientes, así como el periodo de crecimiento térmico (PCT) con información de cinco estaciones climatológicas con 36 años de registros. Se asumió una temperatura base de 9 °C, para definir tres fechas de siembra: 15 de febrero, 15 de junio y 15 de octubre. Se estimó los RRa con una estación climatológica con más registro (1943-2018), se utilizó el método de Hargreaves para calcular la evapotranspiración de referencia y el método del Servicio de Agricultura de los Estados Unidos para la precipitación efectiva. La variación temporal (media y desviación estándar) de los RRa se realizó por el método de Rodionov, por medio de los índices de cambios de régimen en la media y en la varianza (CSSI). Los valores índices de cambios de régimen en la indican que se inició un incremento en los RRa en el año 1995, para la fecha de siembra 15 de febrero, se apreció un cambio inicial en 2009 para la de 15 de junio, mientras que para el 15 de octubre hay un aumento en el año 1993 con otro en los años 2012 a 2018. Sin cambios en CSSI, con evidencias de los cambios en los RRa, que se relacionan con la variación de la precipitación y temperatura.

Abstract Some of the consequences of climate change will manifest themselves in temporal and spatial variations in precipitation and in an increase in the evaporative demand of the atmosphere, which in turn will lead to an increase in the demand for irrigation of agricultural crops. This work analyzed the temporal variation of agroclimatic irrigation requirements (AIRs) for corn in DR001 Pabellón, Aguascalientes, as well as the thermal growth period (TGP) with information from five climatological stations with 36 years of records. A base temperature of 9 °C was assumed to define three sowing dates: February 15, June 15 and October 15. The AIRs were estimated with a climatological station with more records (1943-2018), the Hargreaves method was used to calculate reference evapotranspiration and the United States Agricultural Service method was used for effective precipitation. The temporal variation (mean and standard deviation) of the AIRs was performed by the Rodionov method, by means of the indices of regime changes in the mean and in the variance (CSSI). The index values of regime changes indicate that an increase in the AIRs began in 1995, for the sowing date February 15, an initial change was observed in 2009 for that of June 15, while for October 15 there is an increase in the year 1993 with another in the years 2012 to 2018. No changes in CSSI, with evidence of changes in the AIRs, which are related to the variation of precipitation and temperature.

Resumen. Las raíces finas (≤ 2 mm de diámetro) en los árboles son de vida corta, en condiciones de sequía y baja fertilidad éstas alcanzan mayor longitud por unidad de volumen de suelo; así, la densidad de longitud de raíces es una variable que indica el potencial de absorción de agua y nutrientes que tiene el árbol. El objetivo del presente estudio fue estimar la densidad de longitud de raíces finas (DLRF) su distribución en profundidad y distancia de la base del árbol de teca, por el efecto de la fertilización sintética y abono verde. La metodología utilizada fue la del cilindro, a los 36 meses de edad de los árboles de teca, se tomaron muestras verticales de suelos, cada 10 cm hasta 40 cm de profundidad en las cuatro caras del perfil; y a los 46 meses se muestreó horizontalmente a tres distancias de la base del árbol: 50, 100 y 175 cm, en un diseño de bloques completos al azar. Los resultados muestran que los tratamientos con mayor DLRF fueron: la dosis 60-60-60 kg ha-1 sin abono verde y el testigo con abono verde. La DLRF fue mayor en la profundidad 20-30 cm y 10-20 cm a los 38 y 46 meses. La distancia de 50 cm de la base del árbol mostró mayor DLRF (0.75 km.m−3). La DLRF disminuyó cuando se incrementó la dosis de fertilización sintética o cuando se estableció abono verde (Crotalaria juncea L.).

Abstract. The fine roots (≤ 2 mm in diameter) in the trees are short-lived, in conditions of drought and low fertility they reach a greater length per unit volume of soil; Thus, the root length density is a variable that indicates the water and nutrient absorption potential of the tree. The objective of this study was to estimate the fine root length density (DLRF) its distribution in depth and distance from the base of the three-year-old teak tree, due to the effect of chemical fertilization and a green manure. The methodology used was that of the cylinder, at 36 months of age of the teak trees, vertical soil samples were taken, every 10 cm up to 40 cm deep on the four faces of the profile; and at 46 months it was sampled horizontally at three distances from the base of the tree: 50, 100 and 175 cm, in a randomized complete block design. The results show that the treatments with the highest DLRF were: the 60-60-60 kg ha-1 dose without Green Manure and the control with Green Manure. The DLRF was greater at depth 20-30 cm and 10-20 cm at 38 and 46 months. At a distance of 50 cm from the base of the tree, it showed higher DLRF (0.75 km.m−3). The DLRF decreased when the chemical fertilization dose was increased or when green manure (Crotalaria juncea L.) was established.

Abstract: The Constitution and the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as international treaties ratified by Chile, oblige the state to offer free legal assistance to those who require it, which is especially relevant in the criminal sphere. On the riots or social unrest that occurred in Chile in the last quarter of 2019 and early 2020, the Public Criminal Defense Office adopted a set of measures to offer legal defense to those who were detained or indicted by the criminal prosecution bodies. This research compares crime behavior in the country between 2017 and 2021 and identifies the social unrest crimes. These are a group of crimes whose frequency increased considerably during the turbulent months: 1) burglary, 2) public disorder, 3) disturbances to public order, and 4) attacks and threats against authorities. The volume and specificities of the social unrest crimes challenged the entire justice sector and, in doing so, made it possible to generate beliefs about the legitimacy of the criminal justice system. In contexts of social unrest, the generation of such beliefs seems especially important, because they can increase perceptions of injustice, enhancing the motivations that give rise to such unrest. Therefore, the operational reactions deployed in the Public Criminal Defense Office to ensure timely criminal defense services are explained. Good practices of the Public Criminal Defense Office that could be strengthened institutionally and normatively so that the justice sector is better prepared to face complex or unusual criminological phenomena, such as those that occurred during the social outburst, are also highlighted.

Resumen: La Constitución y el Código Procesal Penal, además de los tratados internacionales ratificados por Chile, obligan al Estado a ofrecer asistencia jurídica gratuita a quienes lo requieran, lo cual es especialmente relevante en el ámbito penal. Con ocasión de la revuelta o el estallido social ocurrido en Chile entre el último trimestre de 2019 y comienzos de 2020, la Defensoría Penal Pública adoptó un conjunto de medidas para ofrecer defensa jurídica a quienes eran detenidos o formalizados por los órganos de persecución penal. En esta investigación se compara el comportamiento delictual en el país entre los años 2017 y 2021, y se identifican los delitos del estallido social. Se trata de un conjunto de delitos cuyas frecuencias aumentaron considerablemente en los meses convulsionados: a) robos en lugar no habitado, b) desórdenes públicos, c) alteraciones al orden público, y d) atentados y amenazas contra la autoridad. El volumen y las especificidades de los delitos del estallido social pusieron a prueba a todo el sector justicia y, al hacerlo, posibilitaron la generación de creencias sobre la legitimidad del sistema de justicia penal. En contextos de disturbios sociales, el surgimiento de dichas creencias parece especialmente importante porque puede incrementar la percepción de injusticia, potenciando el malestar social que da origen a dichos disturbios. Por ello, se explican las reacciones operativas desplegadas en la Defensoría para asegurar servicios oportunos de defensa penal. También se destacan aquellas buenas prácticas de la Defensoría que podrían robustecerse institucional y normativamente para que el sector justicia esté mejor preparado para enfrentar fenómenos criminológicos complejos o no habituales, como los ocurridos durante el estallido social.

Resumen: La acacia (Acacia mangium Wiild.) genera una gran cantidad de biomasa aérea, parte de ella, la hojarasca, constituye una importante fuente de nutrientes que son extraídos de la profundidad del suelo por la biomasa radical, encargada del sostén de la planta, absorción de nutrientes y agua. Partiendo de lo anterior, el objetivo de ésta investigación fue evaluar la fertilidad edáfica al inicio, a los 6 y 42 meses de edad de la acacia y el comportamiento de la distribución vertical de raíces finas (DLRF) en un suelo cañero convertido a agroecosistema A. mangium a 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 y 42 meses de edad, con dos tratamientos de fertilización. El diagnóstico nutrimental del suelo al inicio mostró características favorables para el óptimo desarrollo de la acacia, mayormente contenidos medios. Los nutrimentos Nt, P, K, Ca, Mg, tuvieron un incremento estadísticamente significativo conforme aumentó la edad. La DLRF tendió a ser mayor en los 0-20 y 20-40 cm, en los últimos meses alcanzó 2.0 km m-3, similar a lo reportado en otros estudios de la región, sin embargo, no hubo diferencia estadística significativa en su incremento por efecto de fertilización, excepto a los 42 meses. La acacia muestra un alto potencial para incrementar la fertilidad de los suelos y genera una importante DLRF para la toma de nutrientes.

Abstract: The acacia (Acacia mangium Wiild.) generates a large amount of aerial biomass, part of it, the litter, constitutes an important source of nutrients that are extracted from the depth of the soil by the root biomass, responsible for supporting the plant, absorption of nutrients and water. Based on the above, the objective of this research was to evaluate the edaphic fertility at the beginning, at 6 and 42 months of age of the acacia and the behavior of the vertical distribution of fine roots (DLRF) in a sugarcane soil converted to agroecosystem A. mangium at 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 and 42 months of age, with two fertilization treatments. The nutritional diagnosis of the soil at the beginning showed favorable characteristics for the optimal development of the acacia, mostly medium contents. The nutrients Nt, P, K, Ca, Mg, had a statistically significant increase as age increased. The DLRF tended to be higher at 0-20 and 20-40 cm, in recent months it reached 2.0 km m-3, similar to that reported in other studies in the region, however, there was no statistically significant difference in its increase. due to fertilization effect, except at 42 months. Acacia shows a high potential to increase soil fertility and generates an important DLRF for nutrient uptake.

Resumen Aun en la actualidad existe poca información publicada con relación al análisis de experimentos monofactoriales cuando se usa igual número de submuestras dentro de cada unidad experimental. En este estudio se analizan datos de floración masculina registrados en cuatro variedades de maíz (Zea mays L.) establecidas en condiciones de campo usando cuatro repeticiones por tratamiento, dentro de cada unidad experimental se registraron 30 datos, para el presente estudio sólo son considerados tres de éstos. Los diseños experimentales elegidos fueron completamente al azar, bloques completos al azar y cuadro latino. Las salidas fueron obtenidas con InfoStat y corresponden a un análisis de varianza y a una comparación de medias de tratamientos con la prueba de Tukey (p= 0.01), estas también se pueden generar con InfoGen aplicando el mismo procedimiento. Los datos que conducen a ambos resultados fueron usados para cálculos manuales y los resultados son validados con el sistema para análisis estadístico. Debido que los datos son los mismos el error muestral es común en los tres diseños experimentales y se muestra cómo obtener el error conjunto, la diferencia entre ambos genera el error experimental. Para simplificar el procedimiento en la computadora personal se elabora una sola base de datos. Sólo para el diseño en cuadro latino se proporcionan las expresiones matriciales que permiten homologar el cálculo manual con sumas de cuadrados en el análisis de varianza. Si el objetivo secundario fuera comparar los tres diseños experimentales el soporte estadístico generado por éstos lo permitiría, en una sola corrida usando SAS e individualmente para cada diseño aplicando InfoStat y InfoGen.

Abstract Even today there is little published information regarding the analysis of single-factor experiments when an equal number of subsamples are used within each experimental unit. This study analyzes male flowering data recorded in four varieties of corn (Zea mays L.) established under field conditions using four repetitions per treatment, 30 data were recorded within each experimental unit, but for the present study only three of these are considered. The experimental designs selected were completely randomized, randomized complete blocks and Latin square. The outputs were obtained with InfoStat and correspond to an analysis of variance and a comparison of means of treatments with the Tukey test (p= 0.01), and these can also be generated with InfoGen applying the same procedure. The data leading to both results were used for manual calculations and the results are validated with the statistical analysis system. Because the data are the same, the sampling error is common in the three experimental designs and it is shown how to obtain the joint error, the difference between the two generates the experimental error. To simplify the procedure on the personal computer, a single database is produced. Only for the case of the Latin square design, the matrix expressions that allow homologating the manual calculation with sums of squares in the analysis of variance are provided. If the secondary objective were to compare the three experimental designs, the statistical support generated by them would allow it, in a single run using SAS and individually for each design applying InfoStat and InfoGen.

Resumen: El tumor de Askin o tumor primitivo neuroectodérmico es una neoplasia de células pequeñas redondas que se origina de los tejidos blandos de la pared torácica, probablemente a partir de células embrionarias que migran de la cresta neural. Son tumores muy agresivos que metastatizan rápidamente y de forma diseminada. Clínicamente, los pacientes presentan una masa de tejidos blandos en la pared del tórax que puede cursar o no con dolor. Otras manifestaciones incluyen disnea, tos, pérdida de peso, síndrome de Horner y adenopatías regionales. La radiografía de tórax muestra una masa heterogénea extrapulmonar, por lo general de gran tamaño, que puede opacificar completamente el hemitórax. El pronóstico del tumor de Askin es pobre; sin embargo, el uso combinado de quimioterapia, cirugía y radiación ha mejorado el resultado de forma drástica.

Summary: Askin tumor or primitive neuroectodermal tumor is a small round cells’ neoplasia, which originates in the chest’s soft tissues probably from embryonic cells that migrate from the neural crest. They are very aggressive tumors that metastasize and disseminate quickly. Clinically, patients show a soft tissue mass in the chest that may or may not be accompanied by pain. Other manifestations include dyspnea, cough, weight loss, Horner syndrome and regional lymphadenopathy. Chest radiographies show a usually large extrapulmonary heterogeneous mass, which can completely opacify the hemithorax. The prognosis is poor; however, the combined use of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation has improved results dramatically.

Resumo: O tumor de Askin ou tumor neuroectodérmico primitivo é uma neoplasia de pequenas células redondas que se origina dos tecidos moles da parede torácica, provavelmente de células embrionárias que tem migrado da crista neural. São tumores muito agressivos que metastatizam e se disseminam rapidamente. Clinicamente, os pacientes apresentam uma massa de partes moles na parede torácica que pode ou não causar dor. Outras manifestações incluem dispneia, tosse, perda de peso, síndrome de Horner e linfadenopatia regional. A radiografia de tórax mostra uma massa extrapulmonar heterogênea, geralmente grande, que pode opacar completamente o hemitórax. O prognóstico do tumor de Askin é ruim; no entanto, o uso combinado de quimioterapia, cirurgia e radiação tem melhorado drasticamente o resultado.

Abstract: Background: In the Yucatan Peninsula, some mangrove areas were filled with rubble and residential areas were latter developed. Questions: Can the knowledge of the forest structure and carbon storage be used to establish a baseline for urban mangrove conservation? Study species: Rhizophora mangle L., Laguncularia racemosa Gaertn f., Avicennia germinans L. y Conocarpus erectus L. Location and study year: Isla del Carmen, Campeche, 2017. Methods: Sampling units were established for assessing vegetation structure and measuring above-ground and below-ground carbon stock in two mangrove zone; the first one was filled with rubble and the second without land use changes. Results: The site filled with rubble had a basal area of 25.4 m2 ha-1, where A. germinans was the dominant species with stand density of 675 trees ha-1, with average height of 5.5 m and average diameter at breast height of 13.4 ± 1.6 cm. The site without land use changes had a basal area of 27.8 m2 ha-1 and A. germinans was also the most abundant species with 731 trees ha-1, but individuals were smaller (5.0 m tall) and with greater diameter at breast height (15.2 cm), as compared with the other site. The estimated total carbon stored in the second site (383 Mg C ha-1) was higher than in the first one (321 Mg C ha-1). Conclusions: The ecological value of carbon sequestration and forest structure contributed to strengthening the conservation and protection measures against invasions of urban mangroves.

Resumen: Antecedentes: En la península de Yucatán, algunas zonas del manglar han sido rellenadas con escombros y basura, donde posteriormente se establecieron zonas habitacionales. Preguntas: ¿Puede usarse el conocimiento de la estructura forestal y el almacén de carbono para establecer la línea base para la conservación de los manglares urbanos? Especies de estudio: Rhizophora mangle L., Laguncularia racemosa Gaertn f., Avicennia germinans L. y Conocarpus erectus L. Sitio y años de estudio: Isla del Carmen, Campeche, año 2017. Métodos: Se establecieron unidades de muestreo para evaluar la vegetación y medir el carbono aéreo y subterráneo en dos zonas de manglar, la primera fue rellenada con escombros y otra sin cambios del suelo. Resultados: La zona rellenada con escombros presentó un área basal de 25.4 m2 ha-1, donde A. germinans fue la especie dominante con 675 árboles ha-1, con promedios de 5.5 m en altura y 13.4 cm de diámetro. La otra zona sin cambios del suelo presentó un área basal de 27.8 m2 ha-1, siendo también A. germinans la especie más abundante con 731 árboles ha-1, pero su altura fue más baja (5.0 m) y su diámetro a la altura del pecho mayor (15.2 cm) que en la otra zona. El carbono total almacenado en la segunda zona (383 Mg C ha-1) fue mayor que en la primera (321 Mg C ha-1). Conclusiones: El valor ecológico de la vegetación y la captura de carbono contribuye en el fortalecimiento de medidas de conservación y protección del manglar ante las invasiones urbanas.

SUMMARY: The incorporation of gamification strategies in teaching has been described as a tool to increase the motivation and engagement of students with the subject. Under this premise, an educational innovation experience has been developed using the Kahoot! platform in the first and last laboratory practice of the Cell Biology course of the Biology degree. The participants were 135 students divided into 12 laboratory groups, which were divided into experimental and control groups. All groups solved a questionnaire on paper about the concepts explained in class, at the end of both practices (post-test), but only the experimental groups solved a questionnaire before the class (pre-test). Before the first practice, students in the experimental groups answered the pre-test using Kahoot! However, for the last practice, some groups solved it by playing Kahoot! and others with pen and paper. The results showed that those students who were selected to play Kahoot! obtained a higher number of correct answers in the test performed after the practical session (post-test) than those who did not solve any pre- test or who did it in a classical way. Therefore, our results suggest that implementing gamification in teaching considerably increases student motivation, probably due to physiological changes experienced by the brain during the game and the creation of a positive climate, which facilitates the learning process.

RESUMEN: La incorporación de estrategias de gamificación en la docencia se ha descrito como una herramienta para aumentar la motivación y el compromiso de los alumnos con la materia. Bajo esta premisa, se ha desarrollado una experiencia de innovación educativa mediante la plataforma Kahoot! en la primera y última práctica de laboratorio de la asignatura de Biología Celular del Grado en Biología. Los participantes fueron 135 alumnos repartidos en 12 grupos de laboratorio, que se dividieron entre experimentales y controles. Todos los grupos resolvieron un cuestionario en papel acerca de los conceptos explicados en clase, al finalizar ambas prácticas (post-test), pero sólo aquellos grupos experimentales resolvían un cuestionario antes de la clase (pre-test). Antes de la primera práctica, los alumnos de los grupos experimentales respondieron al pre-test mediante el Kahoot! Sin embargo, para la última práctica algunos grupos lo resolvieron jugando al Kahoot! y otros, con papel y bolígrafo. Los resultados mostraron que aquellos alumnos que fueron seleccionados para jugar a Kahoot!, obtuvieron un mayor número de aciertos en el test realizado tras la sesión práctica (post-test) con respecto a aquellos que no resolvieron ningún pre-test o, que lo hicieron de un modo clásico. Por lo tanto, nuestros resultados sugieren que implementar la jugabilidad en la docencia incrementa considerablemente la motivación del alumnado debido, probablemente, a cambios fisiológicos experimentados por el cerebro durante el juego y a la creación de un clima positivo, que facilitan el proceso de aprendizaje.

Resumen El accidente cerebrovascular (ACV) constituye la principal causa de discapacidad de origen neuro- lógico en los adultos mayores a 40 años y la cuarta causa de muerte en Argentina. En los últimos diez años las publicaciones indexadas relacionadas al tratamiento del ACV isquémico fueron más numerosas que las de ACV hemorrágico. El objetivo de este material es proporcionar recomendaciones locales y actualiza- das del abordaje de pacientes con hematoma intraparenquimatoso espontáneo durante la internación. Para la redacción de este manuscrito se convocó a especialistas en esta enfermedad que conformaron grupos de trabajo. Se plantearon 10 tópicos centrales expresados como epidemiologia, atención inicial, imágenes, tratamiento de la presión arterial, reversión de antitrombóticos, indicación de cirugía, profilaxis anticonvulsivante, pronóstico, prevención de complicaciones y reinicio de antitrombóticos. De cada tópico se plantearon mediante preguntas PICO los interrogantes más frecuentes de la práctica diaria. Luego de una revisión sistemática de la literatura, se generaron recomendaciones evaluadas mediante sistema GRADE y consensuadas entre autores y pacientes.

Abstract Stroke is the leading cause of neurological disability in people over 40 years of age and the fourth leading cause of death in Argentina. In the last ten years, the indexed publications related to the treatment of ischemic stroke were more numerous than those of hemorrhagic stroke. The objective of this material is to provide local and updated recommendations for the management of patients with spontaneous intracere- bral hemorrhage during hospitalization. For the writing of this manuscript, diferent specialists were convened to form working groups. Ten central topics expressed as epidemiology, initial care, imaging, blood pressure treatment, reversal of antithrombotics, indication for surgery, seizure prophylaxis, prognosis, prevention of complications and resumption of antithrombotics were raised. For each topic, the most frequent questions of daily practice were raised through PICO questions. After a systematic review of the literature, recommendations were generated, evaluated using the GRADE system and agreed between authors and patients.

RESUMO O maxixe (Cucumis anguria L.) é uma espécie de origem africana, pertencente à família das cucurbitáceas, muito cultivado no Brasil, porém com pouca informação sobre o controle gênico das características. Efeitos gênicos aditivos, refletidos nas estimativas dos efeitos de variedade ou desempenho “per se” é importante na expressão das características em genótipos de maxixe. O objetivo do trabalho foi estimar a capacidade combinatória e o efeito gênico em genótipos de maxixe. Dois experimentos foram conduzidos em dois anos, em delineamento de blocos casualizados com três repetições. Os tratamentos foram nove progenitores de maxixe e suas combinações híbridas obtidas em cruzamento dialélico. Nas características diâmetro, peso médio e firmeza da polpa dos frutos a heterose varietal teve expressividade maior. Em maxixe, os maiores desvios devido aos efeitos gênicos não-aditivos, foram maiores nas características diâmetro, comprimento e produtividade de frutos. Em geral, os cruzamentos que tiveram genótipos comerciais como parentais, apresentaram maiores estimativas de médias, associado em alguns casos, a estimativas favoráveis dos efeitos gênicos não-aditivos.

ABSTRACT The gherkin (Cucumis anguria L.) is a species of African origin, belonging to the family of cucurbits, widely cultivated in Brazil, but with little information on the genetic control of the characteristics. Additive gene effects, reflected in estimates of variety or performance effects “per se,” are important in the expression of traits in maxixe genotypes. The objective of this study was to estimate the combinatorial capacity and the gene effect in gherkin genotypes. Two experiments were conducted in 2 years in a randomized block design with three replications. The treatments were nine parents of gherkin and their hybrid combinations obtained in a diallel cross. Varietal heterotic expression as the greatest in the characteristics of fruit diameter, average weight, and firmness of the fruit pulp. In gherkin genotypes, the largest deviations due to non-additive gene effects were in the characteristics of fruit diameter, length, and yield. In general, the crosses that had commercial genotypes as parents, presented high average estimates, associated in some cases with favorable estimates of non-additive gene effects.
