Abstract Background The short-term results after using arterial grafts still raise questions and doubts for medical society. Objective To compare the immediate outcomes of patients undergoing single arterial graft versus multiple arterial grafts coronary artery bypass grafting surgery. Methods Cross-sectional cohort study in the São Paulo Registry of Cardiovascular Surgery II (REPLICCAR II). Perioperative data from 3122 patients were grouped by the number of arterial grafts used, and their outcomes were compared: reoperation, deep sternal wound infection (DSWI), stroke, acute kidney injury, prolonged intubation (>24 hours), short hospital stay (<6 days), prolonged hospital stay (>14 days), morbidity and mortality. Propensity Score Matching (PSM) matched 1062 patients, adjusted for the mortality risk. Results After PSM, the single arterial graft group showed patients with advanced age, more former smokers, hypertension, diabetes, stable angina, and previous myocardial infarction. In the multiple arterial grafts, there was a predominance of males, recent pneumonia, and urgent surgeries. After the procedure, there was a higher incidence of pleural effusion (p=0.042), pneumonia (p=0.01), reintubation (p=0.006), DSWI (p=0.007), and sternal debridement (p=0.015) in the multiple arterial grafts group, however, less need for blood transfusion (p=0.005), extremity infections (p=0.002) and shorter hospital stays (p=0.036). Bilateral use of the internal thoracic artery was not related to increased DSWI rate, but glycosylated hemoglobin >6.40% (p=0.048). Conclusion Patients undergoing the multiarterial technique had a higher incidence of pulmonary complications, and DSWI, where glycosylated hemoglobin ≥6.40%, had a greater influence on the infectious outcome than the choice of grafts.

Resumo Fundamento Os resultados a curto prazo após o uso de enxertos arteriais ainda suscitam questionamentos e dúvidas na sociedade médica. Objetivo Comparar os resultados imediatos de pacientes submetidos à cirurgia de revascularização do miocárdio com enxerto arterial único versus enxertos arteriais múltiplos. Métodos Estudo de coorte transversal no Registro Paulista de Cirurgia Cardiovascular II (REPLICCAR II). Os dados perioperatórios de 3122 pacientes foram agrupados pelo número de enxertos arteriais utilizados e seus desfechos foram comparados: reoperação, infecção profunda da ferida torácica (IPFT), acidente vascular cerebral, lesão renal aguda, intubação prolongada (>24 horas), tempo de internação curta (<6 dias), tempo de internação prolongada (>14 dias), morbidade e mortalidade. O Propensity Score Matching (PSM) correspondeu a 1062 pacientes, ajustado para o risco de mortalidade. Resultados Após PSM, o grupo enxerto arterial único apresentou pacientes com idade avançada, mais ex-fumantes, hipertensos, diabéticos, portadores de angina estável e infarto do miocárdio prévio. Nos enxertos arteriais múltiplos houve predomínio do sexo masculino, pneumonia recente e cirurgias de urgência. Após o procedimento, houve maior incidência de derrame pleural (p=0,042), pneumonia (p=0,01), reintubação (p=0,006), IPFT (p=0,007) e desbridamento esternal (p=0,015) no grupo de enxertos multiarteriais, porém, menor necessidade de hemotransfusão (p=0,005), infecções de extremidades (p=0,002) e menor tempo de internação (p=0,036). O uso bilateral da artéria torácica interna não foi relacionado ao aumento da taxa de IPFT, e sim a hemoglobina glicosilada >6,40% (p=0,048). Conclusão Pacientes submetidos a técnica multiarterial apresentaram maior incidência de complicações pulmonares e IPFT, sendo que a hemoglobina glicosilada ≥6,40% teve maior influência no resultado infeccioso do que a escolha dos enxertos.

Resumen: Los hongos micorrízicos arbusculares (HMA) son simbiontes obligados que requieren una planta huésped (trampa) y un soporte (sustratos) para ser aplicados como biofertilizantes en la agricultura. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar ocho consorcios nativos de HMA de zonas semiáridas (C1-ART, C2-GEC, C3-PAR, C4-VIE, C5-CUC, C6-SAC, C7-SAB and C8-MUZ) y su multiplicación en tres sustratos orgánicos: pulpa de café (PC), estiércol bovino (EB) y bagazo de caña de azúcar (BC) en planta de frijol Phaseolus vulgaris. Se midió la altura, el diámetro de tallo, el número de hojas, la longitud de raíz, la biomasa fresca y seca y contenido mineral en raíz. Los sustratos orgánicos (CP y BM) y los consorcios C5-CUC y C8‑MUZ aumentaron considerablemente la altura de la planta, longitud de las raíces y biomasa total fresca y seca. Luego de 75 días de inoculación, la colonización radicular osciló entre 5.7% en C8-MUZ y 46.1% en C2-GEC y C4-VIE; el mayor número de esporas (201) se obtuvo en el sustrato PC en una muestra seca de 100 g. Los contenidos de N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu y Mn en raíces y hojas fueron altamente significativos (P < 0.001). Se concluye que la inoculación de estos HMA nativos y sustratos tuvo efectos positivos sobre el contenido de biomasa y los niveles de nutrientes en hoja y raíz con los consorcios C2-GEC y C3-PAR y los sustratos PC y BM, que produjeron mejores efectos en frijol, los cuáles pueden ser utilizados como biofertilizantes en cultivos agrícolas.

Summary. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are obligate symbionts that require a host plant (tramp) and support (substrates) to be applied as bio-fertilizers in agriculture. The objective of this study is to assess eight native AMF consortia of semi-arid zones (C1-ART, C2-GEC, C3-PAR, C4-VIE, C5-CUC, C6-SAC, C7-SAB, and C8-MUZ) and their reproduction response in three organic substrates: coffee pulp (CP), bovine manure (BM) and sugarcane bagasse (SB) on bean Phaseolus vulgaris. Plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, root length, fresh and dry biomass, and mineral content in root were measured. The organic substrates (CP and BM) and C5-CUC and C8-MUZ consortia increased plant height, root length, and total fresh and dry biomass considerably. After day 75 of inoculation, root colonization oscillated from 5.7% in C8-MUZ to 46.1% in C2-GEC and C4-VIE; the greatest number of spores (201) was obtained in CP substrate in a 100-g sample. N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu, and Mn contents in root and leaves were significantly high (P ≤ 0.001). To conclude, native AMF inoculation and substrates had positive effects on biomass content and nutrient levels in leaf and root with the C2-GEC and C3-PAR consortia and CP and BM substrates, which produced better effects in beans, making them a biofertilization alternative in agricultural crops.

Resumen En el presente trabajo, se reporta la caracterización experimental de la formación y desarrollo de la nube de cavitación en diferentes temperaturas de líquido 20, 30, 40 y 50 °C. Para ello, se construyó una instalación hidráulica que tiene como elemento principal un tubo Venturi de sección rectangular, con ella, se generaron las condiciones de flujo necesarias para formar la cavitación y medir las propiedades termodinámicas para el cálculo de los números adimensionales de Thoma y Reynolds. El error promedio de sesgo de las mediciones no superó el 1%, por tal razón, se aseguró la buena calidad del cálculo en los números adimensionales de Thoma y Reynolds. Con los números de Thoma “σ” y Re se caracterizaron las diferentes fases de la nube de cavitación, desde incipiente, cuasi, desarrollada y super cavitación en el rango de temperaturas del experimento, encontrando que el tránsito de la cavitación incipiente a desarrollada es más fácil a temperatura ambiente, ya que, el régimen de flujo aumentará solo 15.82% en comparación con las otras temperaturas. El inicio de la nube de cavitación depende de la viscosidad del fluido, en el intervalo de prueba la variación de la viscosidad fue de 55% por lo que el régimen de flujo será afectado por la viscosidad y por consiguiente en el inicio de la nube de gas. Finalmente, la densidad del fluido en el rango de temperatura de la prueba permaneció constante, ya que no vario más de 1%, por lo que no afectó al régimen de flujo.

Abstract In the present work, the experimental characterization of the formation and development of the cavitation cloud in different liquid temperatures 20, 30, 40, and 50 °C is reported. For this, a hydraulic installation was built whose main element is a Venturi tube with a rectangular section, with it, the necessary flow conditions were generated to form cavitation and measure the thermodynamic properties for the calculation of the Thoma and Reynolds adimensional numbers. The average bias error of the measurements did not exceed 1%, for this reason, the good quality of the calculation in the Thoma and Reynolds numbers was ensured. With the numbers of Thoma "σ" and Re, the different phases of the cavitation cloud were characterized, from incipient, quasi, developed, and supercavitation in the temperature range of the experiment, finding that the transition from incipient to developed cavitation is easier at room temperature since the flow rate will increase only 15.82% compared to the other temperatures. Finally, the density of the fluid in the temperature range of the test remained constant, since it did not vary more than 1%, so it did not affect the flow regime.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Vaccination against COVID-19 has been shown to reduce the risk of morbidity and mortality in the severe form of COVID and hospitalization in susceptible patients. Objective: To determine if there is a relationship between the number of doses of vaccine applied against COVID-19 and the recovery of the patient treated in the ICU of EsSalud-Lambayeque Contingency Hospitals between December 2021 and February 2022. Materials and methods: A descriptive study was proposed, transversal, correlational and retrospective; in a sample of 94 patients hospitalized in the ICU of the Luis Heysen Inchaustegui and Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo Hospitals, randomly selected. Using a data collection form validated by experts, information was obtained from the medical records of the institutional computer network, maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards. For the analysis, percentages, frequencies and Chi Square were used for the relationship of categorical variables. Results: 60.64% were found to be male, average age 64.38 +/-13.65 years, 53.19% had one comorbidity, 21.27% had two or more, highlighting Arterial Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus. . 35.11% did not have vaccines, 34.04% second dose, 23.40% third dose and 7.45% first dose. In the ICU discharge condition, 43.62% recovered. The recovery of the patient with the first dose was 57.14% (p<0.008), second dose in 65.63% (p<0.00002) and third dose 50% (p<0.003). Conclusions: If there is a significant relationship between the number of doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and the recovery of the patient in the ICU, a higher prevalence of males, older adults and comorbidities such as arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus.

RESUMEN Introducción: La vacunación contra la COVID-19 a demostrado disminuir el riesgo de morbimortalidad en la forma grave de COVID y hospitalización en los pacientes susceptibles. Objetivo: Determinar si existe relación entre la cantidad de dosis de vacuna aplicada contra COVID-19 y la recuperación del paciente atendido en UCI de Hospitales de Contingencia de EsSalud-Lambayeque entre diciembre 2021 a febrero del 2022 Materiales y métodos: Se planteó un estudio descriptivo, transversal, correlacional y retrospectivo; en una muestra de 94 pacientes hospitalizados en la UCI de los Hospitales Luis Heysen Inchaustegui y Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo, seleccionados aleatoriamente. Utilizando ficha de recolección de datos validada por expertos se obtuvo información de las historias clínicas de la red informática institucional, manteniendo la confidencialidad y normas éticas. Para el análisis se utilizó porcentajes, frecuencias y Chi Cuadrada para relación de variables categóricas. Resultados: Se encontró 60,64% sexo masculino, edad promedio de 64,38 +/-13,65 años, el 53,19% tenía una comorbilidad, el 21,27% dos a más, destacando la Hipertensión Arterial y Diabetes Mellitus. El 35,11% no tenía vacunas, 34,04% segunda dosis, 23,40% tercera dosis y 7,45% primera dosis. En la condición de alta de UCI el 43,62% se recuperó. La recuperación del paciente con primera dosis fue de 57,14% (p<0,008), segunda dosis en 65,63% (p<0,00002) y tercera dosis 50% (p<0,003) Conclusiones: Si existe relación significativa entre la cantidad de dosis de vacuna COVID-19 y la recuperación del paciente en UCI, mayor prevalencia del sexo masculino, adulto mayor y comorbilidades como Hipertensión arterial y Diabetes mellitus.

Resumen Objetivos: Comparar los resultados a corto plazo de pacientes intervenidos mediante pancreatectomía distal abierta (PDA) y laparoscópica (PDL); y analizar si el lugar de la sección del páncreas tiene relación con la formación de fístula pancreática. Materiales y métodos: Serie retrospectiva y descriptiva de las PD realizadas, desde enero del 2009 a diciembre del 2019. Se compararon las características clínicas, perioperatorias e histopatológicas de pacientes con PDA y PDL. Resultados: Se incluyeron 70 pacientes. Treinta y nueve casos (56%) con PDA y 31 casos (44%) con PDL. El tamaño tumoral promedio en la PDA fue de 70 mm y en la PDL 45 mm (p = 0.032). La pérdida sanguínea fue menor en la PDL (229 vs. 498 ml) (p = 0.001). No se encontró diferencia significativa en tiempo operatorio, porcentaje de preservación esplénica, fístula pancreática B/C, reoperación, morbilidad mayor y estancia hospitalaria. No hubo mortalidad postoperatoria. No hubo diferencias en la formación de fístula pancreática con respecto al lugar de sección del páncreas. Conclusiones: La PDL es un procedimiento seguro, con resultados perioperatorios similares a la PDA y con menor pérdida sanguínea. El lugar de sección del páncreas no tuvo relación con la formación de fístula pancreática.

Abstract Aims: To compare the short-term outcomes of patients undergoing open DP (ODP) and laparoscopic DP (LDP); and to analyze the association between the section site of the pancreas and pancreatic fistula. Materials and methods: Clinical, perioperative, and histopathologic data of patients who underwent ODP and LDP between 2009 and 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Results: 70 patients were included. 39 (56%) underwent ODP and 31 (44%) underwent LDP. The tumor size in ODP group was 70mm and in LDP group was 45mm (p = 0,032) Blood loss was lower in LDP group (229mL versus 498mL) (p = 0,001). Operative time, spleen preservation, B/C pancreatic fistula, major morbidity, reoperation, and length of hospital stay, were similar in both groups. There was no postoperative mortality. No differences were found in B/C pancreatic fistula rate regarding to pancreatic transection site. Conclusions: LDP is a safe procedure, with perioperative outcomes similar to ODP and with less blood loss. The pancreatic transection site did not influence post-operative pancreatic fistula rate.

ABSTRACT A cross-sectional study was carried out on medical students from a private Peruvian university. The aim was to describe knowledge and attitudes towards COVID-19 as well as the student’s perception of the role of media outlets and social media. Of the students, 32% did not know that during the first five days of illness, serological tests are preferred for diagnosing COVID-19 over molecular tests; 73% reported being willing to work as a volunteer during the pandemic, and 94% received false information regarding COVID-19 on social media. This study demonstrated that information regarding diagnostic tests should be reinforced and that the high percentage of students willing to volunteer during the COVID-19 pandemic should not be overlooked.

RESUMEN Se realizó un estudio transversal en estudiantes de Medicina de una universidad privada de Lima. El objetivo fue describir el nivel de conocimientos y las actitudes sobre la COVID-19, además de su percepción sobre el rol de los medios de comunicación y de las redes sociales. El 32% no sabía que en los primeros cinco días de la enfermedad, las pruebas serológicas son preferibles para diagnosticar la COVID-19, comparadas con las pruebas moleculares; el 73% reportó estar dispuesto a trabajar como voluntario durante la pandemia y el 94% recibió información falsa sobre la COVID-19 en las redes sociales. Este estudio demuestra que la información sobre el uso de pruebas diagnósticas debe ser reforzada y que se debe tomar en cuenta el alto porcentaje de estudiantes dispuestos a ser voluntarios durante la pandemia de la COVID-19.

Resumen La malacofauna de 9 sitios a lo largo de la cuenca río Sabinas, Coahuila, México, fue investigada con base en características conquiliológicas. En total, se encontraron 23 especies de moluscos dulceacuícolas, de las cuales 21 son nativas y 2 invasoras. Diecinueve especies son gasterópodos y 4 son bivalvos. Un género y 2 especies de gasterópodos intersticiales son endémicos del área y se reporta por primera vez a un miembro de la familia Amnicolidae en México, Lyogyrus sp. Mexithauma cf. quadripaludium Taylor, 1966, y Juturnia coahuilae (Taylor, 1966) (Cochliopidae), localizados únicamente en el valle de Cuatro Ciénegas, fueron encontrados por primera vez fuera del mismo. Además, también Cincinnatia integra (Say, 1821) (Hydrobiidae), conocida en México hasta la fecha solamente como relicto de un solo sitio en San Luis Potosí, fue encontrada viva en el río Sabinas. Las especies invasoras Melanoides tuberculata (O. F. Müller, 1774) (Thiaridae) y Corbicula fluminea (O. F. Müller, 1774) (Cyrenidae) dominan a las comunidades acuáticas de moluscos en todos los sitios estudiados. Estos dos moluscos forman un riesgo potencial para las especies nativas, especialmente si la contaminación del agua causada por actividades antropogénicas continúa. Por lo menos 10 especies del sistema río Sabinas son de especial importancia para la conservación (7 amenazadas y 3 vulnerables) debido a su endemismo, al hábitat reducido o a su presencia como relicto en México.

Abstract The malacofauna of the Sabinas River basin, Coahuila, North Mexico, was studied at 9 sites. In total, 21 native and 2 invasive species were found. Nineteen species were gastropods and 4 species were bivalves. One genus and 2 species of subterranean gastropods are endemic to the area. We report for the first time, a member of the family Amnicolidae in Mexico, Lyogyrus sp. Mexithauma cf. quadripaludium Taylor, 1966 and Juturnia coahuilae (Taylor, 1966) (Cochliopidae), previously known only as endemic in the neighboring Cuatro Ciénegas basin, were found for the first time outside of this basin. Also, Cincinnatia integra (Say, 1821) (Hydrobiidae), previously known in Mexico only from 1 relict site in San Luis Potosí state, was found living in Sabinas River. In all studied sites, the invasive species Melanoides tuberculata (O. F. Müller, 1774) (Thiaridae) and Corbicula fluminea (O. F. Müller, 1774) (Cyrenidae) dominate the aquatic molluscan communities. Both molluscs are potential risks for native species, especially if the water pollution continues. At least 10 species from Sabinas River System are of special conservation significance (7 imperiled and 3 vulnerable), due to their endemism, extremely reduced habitat, or relict occurrence in Mexico.

ABSTRACT Introduction: The current technological development has a special impact on the health sector, causing changes in the performance of its professionals; the nursing activity is in particular a space where the availability of technological resources provides precision, dynamism, and immediacy that facilitate analysis assertiveness and decision-making with the patient, in favor of improving their quality of life. The nursing professional requires knowledge and skills during their training that facilitate their insertion into the workplace in accordance with the current reality. Objective: To describe the appreciation of nursing students of the Bolívar State University Redesign Program regarding the benefit provided by the study of the Informatics discipline. Method: Cross-sectional study with an exploratory and descriptive nature, a structured survey is applied. Results: The study of computer science subjects as part of their professional training is identified as very beneficial, as well as for their application in primary health care. Conclusions: Students have the perception that the computer science subjects studied are relevant as part of their training, and that they influence their future professional performance.

RESUMEN Introducción: El desarrollo tecnológico actual incide de manera especial en el sector de la salud originando cambios en la actuación de sus profesionales, en particular la actividad de enfermería es un espacio donde la disponibilidad de recursos tecnológicos aporta precisión, dinamismo e inmediatez, que facilitan análisis asertivos y toma de decisiones para con el paciente, a favor de la mejora en su calidad de vida. El profesional de enfermería requiere de conocimientos y habilidades durante su formación que le faciliten su inserción en el espacio laboral en correspondencia con la realidad actual. Objetivo: Describir la apreciación de los estudiantes de Enfermería del Programa de Rediseño de la Universidad Estatal de Bolívar con respecto al beneficio que les proporciona el estudio de la disciplina Informática. Método: Estudio transversal con carácter exploratorio y descriptivo, se aplica encuesta estructurada. Resultados: Se identifica como muy beneficioso el estudio de las materias informáticas como parte de su formación profesional, así como por su aplicación en la atención primaria de salud. Conclusiones: Los estudiantes tienen la percepción de que las materias informáticas estudiadas son de relevancia como parte de su formación, y de que estas influyen en su desempeño profesional futuro.

RESUMEN Introducción : Los tumores primarios del intestino delgado (TPID) representan aproximadamente el 5% de todas las neoplasias gastrointestinales primarias; estas últimas incluyen lesiones benignas y malignas, con diferentes subtipos histológicos. Objetivo : Describir las características clínico-patológicas y el manejo de tumores de localización yeyuno-ileal. Materiales y métodos : Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo, en un único centro. Resultados : Se incluyó 45 pacientes, la edad promedio al diagnóstico fue de 54,2 ± 8,2 años. 27 eran de sexo masculino (60%). En el algoritmo diagnóstico se utilizó la tomografía computarizada en todos los pacientes, la enteroscopia de doble balón en 41 (91,1%) y video cápsula endoscópica en 32 (71,1%). Se realizaron procedimientos endoscópicos como: biopsias, tatuajes, resección y dilatación en 40 (88,9%), 39 (86,7%), 4 (8,9%) y 1(2,2%) paciente respectivamente. La localización más frecuente fue yeyuno en 39 (86%). Se confirmó GIST en 18 (40%), seguido de linfoma en 16 (35,6%) y adenocarcinoma en 5 (11%) casos. Todos los tumores GIST, adenocarcinoma y neuroendocrinos se sometieron a tratamiento quirúrgico y quimioterapia; el tratamiento de los linfomas consistió en tratamiento combinado principalmente; tres harmartomas y un fibroangiolipoma fueron resecados endoscópicamente. Conclusiones : Los tumores de intestino delgado yeyuno-ileal más frecuentes fueron los GIST, seguidos de linfomas y adenocarcinomas. La enteroscopia de doble balón fue la principal herramienta diagnóstica y terapéutica.

ABSTRACT Introduction : Primary tumors of the small intestine (PTID) represent approximately 5% of all primary gastrointestinal neoplasms; the latter include benign and malignant lesions, with different histological subtypes. Objective : To describe the clinical-pathological characteristics and the management of tumors located in the jejunum-ileum. Materials and methods : A descriptive, retrospective study was carried out in a single center. Results : 45 patients were included, the average age at diagnosis was 54.2 ± 8.2 years. 27 were male (60%). In the diagnostic algorithm, computed tomography was used in all patients, double-balloon enteroscopy in 41 (91.1%) and video capsule endoscopy in 32 (71.1%). Endoscopic procedures such as: biopsies, tattoos, resection and dilation were performed in 40 (88.9%), 39 (86.7%), 4 (8.9%) and 1 (2.2%) patients, respectively. The most frequent location was the jejunum in 39 (86%). GIST was confirmed in 18 (40%), followed by lymphoma in 16 (35.6%) and adenocarcinoma in 5 (11%) cases. All GIST, adenocarcinoma, and neuroendocrine tumors underwent surgical treatment and chemotherapy; treatment of lymphomas consisted mainly of combined treatment; three harmartomas and one fibroangiolipoma were resected endoscopically. Conclusions : The most frequent jejunoileal small intestine tumors were GISTs, followed by lymphomas and adenocarcinomas. Double-balloon enteroscopy was the main diagnostic and therapeutic tool.

Abstract Species of the genus Cinchona are recognized for their effectiveness in treating malaria. For Peru, this genus is of greater importance regarding forestry and civic aspects, because it represents the richness of the plant resource. Nevertheless, nowadays Cinchona populations are strongly threatened by various anthropogenic activities. Cutervo National Park (PNC) is the Peruvian's first Protected Natural Area (ANP) and is considered as a conservation unit for the genus Cinchona. Objective: Determine the genetic diversity and phylogenetic relationships of the species of the genus Cinchona that inhabit the PNC. Methods: We tested 13 samples using the matK marker and a phylogenetic tree was generated using the maximum likelihood method and bootstrap measures of phylogenetic support. Results: 8 number of haplotypes (h) were recorded, with haplotype diversity (Hd) 0.859 and nucleotide diversity (π) 0.35%, also identifying: C. calisaya, C. pubescens and C. pitayensis for the PNC; the phylogenetic tree showed C. pitayensis as conserved specie, meanwhile C. pubsecens is present in many groups. Conclusions: The high genetic diversity of Cinchona and haplotype record of C. calisaya, species with a national conservation category of "Vulnerable", increases the importance for biodiversity conservation of the PNC.

Resumen Las especies del género Cinchona son reconocidas mundialmente por su eficacia en el tratamiento contra la malaria. Para el Perú, este género reviste mayor importancia a los aspectos forestal y cívico, por representar la riqueza del recurso vegetal. Sin embargo, en la actualidad sus poblaciones se encuentran fuertemente amenazadas por diversas actividades antropogénicas. El Parque Nacional de Cutervo (PNC) es la primer Área Natural Protegida (ANP) del Perú y es considerado como unidad de conservación para el género Cinchona. Objetivo: Determinar la diversidad genética y las relaciones filogenéticas de las especies del género Cinchona presentes en el PNC. Métodos: Nosotros evaluamos 13 muestras empleando el marcador matK y se generó un árbol filogenético empleando el método de máxima verosimilitud con soporte de filogenia bootstrap. Resultados: 8 haplotipos fueron registrados, con una diversidad haplotípica (Hd) 0.859 y nucleotídica (π) 0.35 %, identificándose además a: C. calisaya, C. pubescens y C. pitayensis para el PNC; el árbol filogenético mostró que la especie C. pitayensis se encuentra bastante conservada, mientras que C. pubsecens se encuentra presente en distintos grupos con similitud variable. Conclusiones: La elevada diversidad genética de Cinchona y el registro del haplotipo de C. calisaya, especie con categoría de conservación nacional “Vulnerable”, incrementa la importancia para la conservación de la biodiversidad del PNC.

Abstract Introduction A comparison was made of the nutritional status, eating habits, physical activity and hours of sleep in students from 5th to 8th grade of primary education in a public school in the city of Punta Arenas, Chile, according to the winter and summer seasons, considering the variability weather and sunlight from extreme weather. Material and Methods Analytical observational study with a quantitative, longitudinal cohort approach. 105 students of both sexes, whose average age was 11.5 years, were followed over a 7-month period. Two measurements of the four variables under study were made (nutritional status, eating habits, physical activity and hours of sleep). Weight and height measurements were made to obtain the body mass index (BMI) to classify the nutritional status according to BMI/age with the growth patterns recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). Eating and sleeping habits were evaluated with a self-administered questionnaire and sleeping hours were categorized for age according to the National Sleep Foundation. For the evaluation of physical activity in the students, the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children PAQ-C was used. Data analysis was performed with the SPSS® Version 22 statistical software and the T-student statistical test for related samples. Results There was no significant difference in the nutritional status by season (p=0.57). Healthy eating habits and physical activity diminished during summer (p>0,05). The hours of sleep did not have significant differences in both seasons with an average of 8.3 hours. Conclusions Healthy dietary habits and physical activity are altered during the summer. This is possibly associated to school break and there’s no evidence of a direct effect of seasonal nature.

Resumen Introducción Se realizó una comparación del estado nutricional, hábitos alimentarios, actividad física y horas de sueño en estudiantes de 5° a 8° grado de educación primaria en una escuela pública de la ciudad Punta Arenas, Chile, según las estaciones de invierno y verano considerando la variabilidad climática y de luz solar de un clima extremo. Material y Métodos Estudio observacional analítico de enfoque cuantitativo, longitudinal de cohorte. Se siguieron durante un período de 7 meses a 105 estudiantes de ambos sexos cuya edad promedio fue 11,5 años. Se realizaron dos mediciones de las cuatro variables en estudio (estado nutricional, hábitos alimentarios, actividad física y horas de sueño). Se efectuaron mediciones de peso y talla para la obtención del índice de masa corporal (IMC) para clasificar el estado nutricional según IMC/edad con los patrones de crecimiento recomendados por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS). Los hábitos alimentarios y sueño fueron evaluados con un cuestionario auto administrado y se categorizó las horas de sueño para la edad según la National Sleep Foundation. Para la evaluación de la actividad física en los estudiantes se utilizó el Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children (PAQ-C). El análisis de datos se realizó con el Software estadístico SPSS® Versión 22 y la prueba estadística T-student para muestras relacionadas. Resultados No se encontró diferencia significativa en el estado nutricional (p=0,57). Los hábitos alimentarios saludables y la actividad física disminuyen en la estación de verano (p>0,05). Las horas de sueño no tuvieron diferencias significativas en ambas estaciones con un promedio de 8,3 horas. Conclusiones Los hábitos alimentarios saludables y de actividad física disminuyen en la estación de verano posiblemente asociados al receso escolar, sin evidenciar un efecto directo de la estación de año sobre las variables estudiadas.

Abstract Hodgkin’s lymphoma is due to the clonal transformation of cells originating from B lymphocytes, generating the pathognomonic binucleate Reed-Sternberg cells. Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a B cell disease with a bimodal distribution, with higher incidence in adolescence and the third decade of life, showing a second peak in people over 55 years of age. Classic Hodgkin lymphoma cells routinely undergo gene expression reprogramming, as they lose the expression of most of the typical B-cell genes and acquire the expression of multiple genes that are typical of other types of cells in the immune system. The treatment algorithm will depend on whether it is classic or predominantly lymphocytic HL, if it is early stage with unfavorable prognostic markers or not, the initial management regimen, and whether there is bulky disease, among the most relevant variables.

Resumen El linfoma de Hodgkin (LH) se debe a la transformación clonal de células originadas en los linfocitos B, lo que genera las células binucleadas patognomónicas de Reed-Sternberg. El LH es una enfermedad de células B con una distribución bimodal, con mayor incidencia en la adolescencia y la tercera década de la vida y un segundo pico en personas mayores de 55 años. Las células del LH clásico habitualmente sufren una reprogramación de la expresión génica, ya que pierden la expresión de la mayoría de los genes típicos de las células B y han adquirido la expresión de múltiples genes que son típicos de otros tipos de células del sistema inmunitario. El algoritmo de tratamiento dependerá si se trata de LH clásico o de predominio linfocítico, si es un estadio temprano con marcadores de pronóstico desfavorables o no, el esquema inicial de manejo y si existe enfermedad voluminosa, entre las variables más relevantes.
