RESUMO: Vários fatores determinam as perdas de rendimento de grãos devido à competição com plantas daninhas, entre eles as espécies infestantes. Entre as espécies daninhas de ocorrência comum em lavouras de soja das diferentes regiões do Brasil, destacam-se as da família Rubiaceae, representadas principalmente por Borreria latifolia e Richardia brasiliensis. O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar os efeitos da interferência das espécies B. latifolia e R. brasiliensis sobre o desenvolvimento das plantas e os componentes do rendimento e produtividade da soja. Dois estudos foram conduzidos em delineamento de blocos ao acaso com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram resultantes de um bifatorial, em que o primeiro fator foi constituído pelas espécies B. latifolia e R. brasiliensis, e o segundo, pelas densidades de 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 e 12 plantas m-2. Em ambos os cultivares de soja, foram avaliados altura de planta, área foliar e clorofila total nos estádios V6 e R5 da cultura, número de vagens por planta, número de grãos por vagem, massa de mil grãos e perda de rendimento de grãos. O rendimento de grãos de ambos os cultivares de soja foi negativamente afetado pela interferência com as espécies B. latifolia e R. brasiliensis. B. latifolia foi mais competitiva com a cultura da soja do que R. brasiliensis, provocando maiores reduções em todas as variáveis analisadas. Cada planta de B. latifolia por m2 é capaz de reduzir o rendimento de grãos de soja em 3 a 4,4%, enquanto cada planta de R. brasiliensis reduz o rendimento em 2 a 2,6%. Para ambas as espécies rubiáceas, a redução do rendimento da soja decorrente da competição foi motivada pelo decréscimo no número de vagens por planta, número de grãos por vagem e massa de mil grãos.

ABSTRACT: Weed species is one of the factors contributing to grain yield losses due to crop-weed competition. Two of the most common weeds of soybean fields in Brazil are from the Rubiaceae family: Borreria latifolia and Richardia brasiliensis. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of B. latifolia and R. brasiliensis on plant development, yield components, and soybean productivity. Two assays were conducted in a randomized block design with four replications, using a two-level factorial design, in which the first factor consisted of the species B. latifolia and R. brasiliensis and the second factor consisted of the densities 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 plants m-2. Plant height, leaf area and total chlorophyll in the V6 and R5 stages, number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, 1000-grain weight, and grain yield loss were evaluated in both cultivars. Grain yield of both soybean cultivars was negatively affected by the interference with B. latifolia and R. brasiliensis. The species B. latifolia was more competitive with soybean when compared to R. brasiliensis, causing higher reductions for all variables. Each B. latifolia plant per square meter is able to reduce the yield of soybean by 3 a 4.4%, while each R.brasiliensis plant reduces yield by 2 a 2.6%. For both species, the reduction in soybean yield due to competition was caused by a decrease in the number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, and 1000-grain weight.

RESUMO: A intensificação do uso do herbicida glyphosate em áreas de soja RR tem selecionado espécies de plantas daninhas resistentes e tolerantes. Objetivou-se neste trabalho avaliar estratégias de manejo químico para o controle de Borreria latifolia e Richardia brasiliensis com aplicações em pré-emergência (Pré), pós-emergência inicial (Pósi) e pós-emergência tardia (Póst) dessas plantas. Foram conduzidos seis experimentos em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com quatro repetições nos experimentos em Pré e três em Pósi e Póst, para cada uma das espécies. Nos experimentos em Pré, foram testados os herbicidas imazethapyr, sulfentrazone, chlorimuron, diclosulam, S-metolachlor e saflufenacil. Em Pósi, foram aplicados bentazon, fomesafen, lactofen, flumioxazin e glyphosate. Em Póst, plantas adultas receberam aplicações de glyphosate associadas a 2,4-D, carfentrazone, imazethapyr, flumiclorac, flumioxazin, sulfentrazone, chlorimuron, saflufenacil e glufosinate, além de três aplicações sequenciais com glyphosate isolado e paraquat/diuron. Nos experimentos havia um tratamento testemunha sem aplicação de herbicidas. Nos experimentos Pré, avaliou-se o percentual de plantas emergidas aos 14 e 28 dias após a aplicação (DAA). Em Pósi e Póst foram avaliados o controle visual aos 14 e 28 DAA e a matéria seca da parte aérea. Os herbicidas sulfentrazone, S-metolachlor e saflufenacil suprimiram a emergência tanto de B. latifolia quanto de R. brasiliensis; chlorimuron e diclosulam foram eficientes somente sobre R. brasiliensis. Em Pósi, fomesafen, lactofen e flumioxazin atingiram níveis de controle superiores a 90% sobre ambas as espécies. Em Póst, a associação de glyphosate com carfentrazone, flumiclorac, flumioxazin, chlorimuron, saflufenacil e glufosinate e as aplicações sequenciais de glyphosate/glyphosate, glyphosate/paraquat+diuron, e glyphosate+2,4-D/paraquat+diuron atingiram níveis de controle superiores a 95%.

ABSTRACT: Increased use of glyphosate in transgenic soybean areas has selected resistant and tolerant weed species. The aim of this study was to evaluate chemical management strategies for controlling Borreria latifolia and Richardia brasiliensis at pre-emergence (Pre), early post-emergence (Poste) and late post-emergence (Postl). Six experiments were carried out in a completely randomized design with four replicates per treatment in the Pre experiments and three in the Poste and Postl experiments, for each of the species. In the Pre experiments, tests were performed with herbicides imazethapyr, sulfentrazone, chlorimuron, diclosulam, S-metolachlor and saflufenacil. In the Poste experiments, seedlings were sprayed with herbicides bentazon, fomesafen, lactofen, flumioxazin and glyphosate. In Postl experiments, adult plants received glyphosate application associated with herbicides 2,4-D, carfentrazone, imazethapyr, flumiclorac, flumioxazin, sulfentrazone, chlorimuron, saflufenacil and glufosinate, plus three sequential applications with glyphosate only and paraquat/diuron. In the experiments, there was a control treatment without application of herbicides. In the Pre experiments, the plants established at 14 and 28 days after application (DAA) were evaluated. In the Poste and Postl experiments, shoot dry matter evaluation and visual control were performed at 14 and 28 DAA. The herbicides sulfentrazone, S-metolachlor and saflufenacil suppressed the emergence of both B. latifolia as R. brasiliensis; chlorimuron-ethyl and diclosulam were effective only on R. brasiliensis. In Poste, fomesafen, lactofen and flumioxazin reached levels of control over 90% of plants of both species. In Postl, glyphosate associated with carfentrazone, flumiclorac, flumioxazin, chlorimuron-ethyl, saflufenacil, glufosinate, and sequential applications of glyphosate/glyphosate, glyphosate/paraquat+diuron, glyphosate+2,4-D/paraquat+diuron reached levels control higher than 95%.

RESUMO: A associação entre herbicidas e demais pesticidas pode causar reflexos tanto no manejo de plantas daninhas quanto de cultivadas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a resposta da associação de diferentes herbicidas com inseticidas ou fungicidas pertencentes a diferentes grupos químicos sobre o desenvolvimento e rendimento de grãos de trigo, cultivar ORS Vintecinco. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos ao acaso com três repetições. O experimento foi constituído por 33 tratamentos: testemunha sem aplicação, aplicação dos herbicidas 2,4-D (1.005 g e.a. ha-1), bentazon (756 g i.a. ha-1), metsulfuron-methyl (3 g i.a. ha-1) e pyroxsulam (16 g i.a. ha-1), de forma isolada ou associados com os inseticidas chlorfluazuron (15 g i.a. ha-1), chlorpyrifos (720 g i.a. ha-1), deltamethrin (5 g i.a. ha-1) e methomyl (5 g i.a. ha-1), ou com os fungicidas azoxystrobin (100 g i.a. ha-1), carbendazim (250 g i.a. ha-1) e propiconazole (190 g i.a. ha-1). Avaliou-se a tolerância relativa (TR), a massa da parte aérea seca (MPAS) das plantas e os componentes de rendimento e rendimento de grãos. De modo geral, pyroxsulam apresentou maior número de interações sinérgicas com os inseticidas e fungicidas utilizados, reduzindo dessa forma a TR e MPAS das plantas, destacando-se a associação pyroxsulam + chlorpyrifos pelo menor nível de TR (45%) e maior redução de MPAS (52%). Todas as associações de herbicidas com o inseticida chlorpyrifos e a maioria das associações com o fungicida propiconazole resultaram em redução do rendimento de grãos em relação à aplicação isolada dos mesmos herbicidas ou à testemunha sem aplicação.

ABSTRACT: The combination of herbicides and other pesticides can influence weed and crop management. This study aimed to evaluate the response of the combination of different herbicides with insecticides or fungicides of different chemical groups on the development and yield of wheat grains of the cultivar ORS Vintecinco. The experimental design was a randomized block design with three replications. The experiment consisted of 33 treatments, as follows: control without application and application of the herbicides 2,4-D (1,005 g a.e. ha-1), bentazon (756 g a.i. ha-1), metsulfuron-methyl (3 g a.i. ha-1), and pyroxsulam (16 g a.i. ha-1), isolated or combined with the insecticides chlorfluazuron (15 g a.i. ha-1), chlorpyrifos (720 g a.i. ha-1), deltamethrin (5 g a.i. ha-1), and methomyl (5 g a.i. ha-1) or with the fungicides azoxystrobin (100 g a.i. ha-1), carbendazim (250 g a.i. ha-1), and propiconazole (190 g a.i. ha-1). Relative tolerance (RT), shoot dry matter (SDM), yield components, and grain yield were evaluated. In general, pyroxsulam had the highest number of synergistic interactions with insecticides and fungicides, reducing RT and SDM, especially the combination pyroxsulam + chlorpyrifos due to a lower RT level (45%) and higher SDM reduction (52%). All combinations of herbicides with the insecticide chlorpyrifos and most of the combinations with the fungicide propiconazole led to a reduction of grain yield when compared to their isolated application or to control without application.

RESUMO: Espécies infestantes da família Rubiaceae apresentam grande importância em lavouras de soja no sudoeste do PR e norte de SC, especialmente devido à seleção de populações tolerantes ocasionada pela pressão de seleção exercida pelo uso intensivo do herbicida glyphosate. Este trabalho objetivou avaliar os níveis de tolerância ao glyphosate em biótipos de erva-quente (Borreria latifolia) (BL) e poaia-branca (Richardia brasiliensis) (RB) por meio de curvas de dose-resposta. Dois experimentos foram conduzidos em casa de vegetação, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado (DIC) com quatro repetições. Foram avaliados 14 biótipos de BL e 11 biótipos de RB coletados em lavouras de soja do PR e SC. As doses de glyphosate foram de 0, 74, 163, 360, 792 e 1.742 g ha-1, aplicadas quando as plantas estavam com 6 a 8 folhas. Avaliou-se o controle visual aos 14 e 28 dias após a aplicação (DAA), e a massa da parte aérea verde e seca, aos 28 DAA. Há variabilidade de resposta entre os biótipos estudados. Os biótipos de BL 277, 283 e 300 e os biótipos de RB 283, 285 e Papanduva não foram controlados com o glyphosate em doses superiores à usualmente utilizada nas lavouras (720 g ha-1), evidenciando seleção pelo uso repetitivo do glyphosate. Os fatores de tolerância variaram de 1,1 a 4,1 e 2,8 a 8,1 para BL e RB, respectivamente. As maiores dificuldades de controle foram relatadas em áreas onde a tecnologia RR tinha sido adotada há mais de seis anos.

ABSTRACT: Infesting species of Rubiaceae family have great importance in soybean crops in Southwest of Paraná and North of Santa Catarina, especially due to the selection of tolerant populations caused by the pressure of selection exerted by intensive use of glyphosate. The study aimed to evaluate the levels of tolerance to glyphosate in biotypes of broadleaf buttonweed (Borreria latifolia) (BL) and white-eye (Richardia brasiliensis) (RB) by means of dose-response curves. Two experiments were conducted in a greenhouse, in completely randomized design (CRD), with four replications. Fourteen BL biotypes and eleven RB biotypes were evaluated, collected in soybean fields of Paraná and Santa Catarina. The doses of glyphosate were 0, 74, 163, 360, 792 and 1,742 g ha-1, applied when the plants had 6 to 8 leaves. Visual control was evaluated at 14 and 28 days after application (DAA), as well as mass of green shoots and mass of dry shoots at 28 DAA. It was verified that there is response variability among the biotypes studied. BL biotypes 277, 283 and 300, and RB biotypes 283, 285 and Papanduva were not controlled with glyphosate at doses superior to those normally used in crops (720 g ha-1), indicating selection by the recurrent use of glyphosate. The tolerance factors ranged from 1.1 to 4.1 and 2.8 to 8.1 for RB and BL, respectively. The greatest difficulties of control were reported in areas where RR technology had been adopted for more than six years.

RESUMO: Na literatura, são poucos trabalhos que avaliam a resposta de diferentes cultivares de feijão a herbicidas, principalmente aos inibidores da enzima ALS. Os objetivos deste trabalho foram avaliar a seletividade de cultivares de feijão comum ao herbicida ethoxysulfuron e selecionar cultivares mais tolerantes ao herbicida. Um experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação em delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado com quatro repetições. Os fatores foram constituídos por 20 cultivares de feijão (IPR Eldorado, IPR Siriri, IPR Gralha, IPR 81, IPR Uirapuru, IPR Colibri, IPR Tuiuiú, BRS Esplendor, IPR Tangará, IPR Juriti, IPR Corujinha, IPR Andorinha, IPR Curió, BRS Campeiro, BRS Pérola, BRS Notável, BRS Estilo, UTF 3, UTF 5 e UTF 6) e quatro doses de ethoxysulfuron (0, 50, 100 e 200 g ha-1). Na dose de 200 g ha-1 a redução da massa da parte aérea seca das plantas variou entre 30 e 80%, indicando que ocorreu elevada variabilidade na resposta dos cultivares de feijão ao herbicida. Os cultivares de feijão classificados como mais tolerantes ao ethoxysulfuron foram: IPR 81, IPR Uirapuru, BRS Estilo, IPR Gralha e BRS Pérola, enquanto os cultivares menos tolerantes foram: IPR Eldorado, IPR Tuiuiú, IPR Tangará, IPR Curió, UTF 3, UTF 5 e BRS Esplendor.

ABSTRACT: In literature, there are few studies evaluating the response of different bean cultivars to herbicides, particularly the ALS enzyme inhibitors. The objective of this study was to evaluate the selectivity of common bean cultivars to the herbicide ethoxysulfuron and to select cultivars that are more tolerant to it. An experiment was conducted in a greenhouse, in a completely randomized experimental design with four replications. Factors consisted in 20 bean cultivars (IPR Eldorado, IPR Siriri, IPR Gralha, IPR 81, IPR Uirapuru, IPR Colibri, IPR Tuiuiú, BRS Esplendor, IPR Tangará, IPR Juriti, IPR Corujinha, IPR Andorinha, IPR Curió, BRS Campeiro, BRS Pérola, BRS Notável, BRS Estilo, UTF 3, UTF 5 e UTF 6), and four doses of ethoxysulfuron (0, 50, 100 and 200 g ha-1) were used. At the dose of 200 g ha-1, the reduction of the shoot dry matter of plants ranged from 30 to 80%, indicating that there was high variability in the response of bean cultivars to the herbicide. The bean cultivars classified as more tolerant to ethoxysulfuron are: IPR 81, IPR Uirapuru, BRS Estilo, IPR Gralha and BRS Pérola, while the less tolerant cultivars are: IPR Eldorado, IPR Tuiuiú, IPR Tangará, IPR Curió, UTF 3, UTF 5 and BRS Esplendor.

RESUMO: O sinergismo é um resultado desejado na interação entre os herbicidas por proporcionar muitos benefícios, entre os quais a redução de doses e o incremento da eficiência de controle, e por sinalizar positivamente para a aplicação conjunta de herbicidas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da associação de saflufenacil com outros herbicidas promotores de estresse oxidativo sobre o desenvolvimento de Euphorbia heterophylla, bem como analisar se as interações resultantes possuem natureza antagônica, aditiva ou sinérgica. O experimento foi realizado em vasos, em casa de vegetação, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos consistiram de doses de saflufenacil (0; 1,2; 2,32; 4,47; 8,63; e 16,65 g ha-1) aplicadas de forma isolada e associadas com clomazone (288 e 504 g ha-1), metribuzin (105,6 e 206,4 g ha-1) e paraquat (20 e 40 g ha-1), além desses últimos herbicidas aplicados isoladamente, nas mesmas doses descritas. Aos 21 dias após a aplicação (DAA), foi avaliada a massa seca parte aérea das plantas em cada unidade experimental. O método de Limpel-Colby foi utilizado para cálculo da resposta esperada da interação entre os herbicidas. Todas as associações de saflufenacil com clomazone, metribuzin e paraquat foram sinérgicas. Dos tratamentos associados a saflufenacil, aqueles que incluíram metribuzin na dose de 105,6 g ha-1 foram os que proporcionaram resultados mais promissores, destacando-se pela maior redução da massa seca parte aérea das plantas de leiteiro, em comparação à aplicação isolada de saflufenacil.

ABSTRACT: Synergism is a desired result in the interaction between herbicides because it provides many benefits, among which the reduction of doses and the increment of control efficiency, and because it positively signals for the joint application of herbicides. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of the association of saflufenacil with other herbicides that promote oxidative stress on the development of Euphorbia heterophylla as well as to analyze if the resulting interactions are antagonistic, additive or synergistic. The experiment was conducted in pots, in a greenhouse, using a completely randomized design with four replications. Treatments consisted of saflufenacil (0, 1,2, 2,32, 4,47, 8,63, 16,65 g ha-1) alone and associated with clomazone (288 and 504 g ha-1), metribuzin (105.6 and 206.4 g ha-1) and paraquat (20 and 40 g ha-1), as well as these herbicides applied alone at the same doses described above. Twenty-one days after the application (DAA), the shoot dry matter (SDM) of plants was evaluated in each experimental unit. The Limpel-Colby method was used to calculate the expected response of the herbicide interaction. All combinations of saflufenacil with clomazone, metribuzin and paraquat were considered synergistic. Among the treatments associated with saflufenacil, those including metribuzin at the dose of 105.6 g ha-1 were the ones that provided the most promising results, which stood out for the greater reductions of wild poinsettia shoot dry matter, compared to the application of saflufenacil alone.
