Abstract The labor welfare conditions of the workers of a company in the hospitality industry in the city of Medellin are addressed in order to know their living conditions, which, to some extent, can affect their productivity, put at risk their psychosocial conditions and ultimately, the success of the business strategy. This research delves into the workers' quality of life and the perception that they have of their company from the perspective of social work and human resource management and with an emphasis on quantitative analysis in a case study approach. Data was collected through a semi-structured survey. Our research discovered that such studies have not been undertaken in Medellin. The results reveal that despite the fact that the majority of workers earn between one or two minimum wages, they manifest satisfaction and have a sense of belonging to the company, revealing that salary is not their main motivation, but on the contrary, good treatment, benefits, stability, and support in times of crisis are valued more highly within the industry.

Resumen Las condiciones de bienestar laboral de los trabajadores de una empresa del sector hotelero de la ciudad de Medellín, se abordan con el fin de conocer sus características de vida las que, de alguna manera, pueden afectar su productividad, poner en riesgo sus condiciones psicosociales y el logro de la estrategia del negocio. Desde la profesión del Trabajo Social en unión con el área de Gestión Humana se profundiza la calidad de vida y la percepción que los trabajadores tienen de su empresa a través de una investigación con énfasis cuantitativo y estudio de caso como estrategia. El instrumento utilizado fue la encuesta semiestructurada. El estudio indica que en Medellín no se han adelantado investigaciones relacionadas con las condiciones de vida y el Bienestar laboral de los trabajadores de una empresa del sector hotelero. A pesar de los resultados, de los cuales se resalta que la mayoría ganan entre uno o dos salarios mínimos, los trabajadores manifiestan satisfacción y sentido de pertenencia hacía la empresa, donde el salario no es su mayor motivación, al contrario, el buen trato, los beneficios, la estabilidad, el apoyo en momento de crisis, se convierten en los mayores atractivos para formar parte de esta organización.

Resumen La exposición a situaciones de vulnerabilidad y violencia, como el desplazamiento forzado, generan en la población víctima efectos nocivos para su salud mental. El objetivo del presente estudio es describir el estado actual de la salud mental y algunos factores sociodemográficos y del entorno asociados, de 471 adolescentes y jóvenes entre 13 y 28 años, víctimas de desplazamiento forzado en tres ciudades colombianas. Se aplicó la entrevista Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI), versión CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interview); un cuestionario ad hoc sobre aspectos del desplazamiento forzado y el consumo de sustancias psicoactivas; la escala de funcionamiento familiar APGAR y la escala MOS (Medical Outcomes Study) de apoyo social. Se encontró una prevalencia de cualquier trastorno mental en el último año del 24,4% y cualquier trastorno por uso de sustancias del 4,7%. Los trastornos más prevalentes fueron fobia específica (6,8%), trastorno por estrés postraumático (5,7%) y trastorno depresivo mayor (5,1%). La dependencia a la marihuana se presentó en 2,1% de los participantes y el abuso de alcohol en 1,9%. Un 14,6% de los adolescentes y jóvenes víctimas de desplazamiento forzado han pensado suicidarse alguna vez en la vida. Ser hombre, menor de edad, con buen funcionamiento familiar y apoyo social adecuado, fueron factores protectores para la presencia de trastornos mentales.

Abstract Exposure to vulnerable and violent events, such as forced displacement, generate several adverse effects on the mental health of victim population. The objective of this study is to describe the current mental health condition and some associated sociodemographic and environmental factors in 471 adolescents and young people between 13 and 28 years of age, who have been victims of forced displacement in three Colombian cities. The Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI) interview, CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interview) version was administered; an ad hoc questionnaire on aspects of forced displacement and the consumption of psychoactive substances; the APGAR family function scale and the MOS (Medical Outcomes Study) scale of social support. It was found a prevalence of any mental disorder in the last years of 24.4% and any substance use disorder of 4.7%. The most prevalent disorders were specific phobia (6.8%), post-traumatic stress disorder (5.7%) and major depressive disorder (5.1%). Dependence on marijuana was found at 2.1% and alcohol abuse at 1.9%. 14.6% of adolescents and young victims of forced displacement have considered committing suicide at some point along their lives. Being a minor- age man, with a functional family and adequate social support, were protective factors from mental disorders.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVES: To develop a deprivation index to study health inequalities in 221 areas of Ecuador, to describe the pattern of deprivation in Ecuador, and to explore the applications of the index to study health inequalities by analysing the association between deprivation and mortality in the study areas. METHODS: We performed principal component analyses of available indicators of the 221 cantons of Ecuador. A set of 41 sociodemographic, social capital, and subjective well-being variables were obtained from the 2010 National Population Census and the National Living Conditions Survey 2013–2014. To explore the application of the index in public health, the association between the index and standardised mortality ratios was estimated through a Poisson regression model. RESULTS: The final index was constructed with 17 indicators. The first component explained 51.8% of the total variance of the data. A geographic pattern and a positive association of the index with the standardised mortality ratios of the cantons were observed in both men and women. CONCLUSIONS: We constructed a deprivation index that can identify disadvantaged areas in Ecuador. This index could be a valuable tool for the detection of vulnerabilised populations and the development of interventions and policies adapted to local needs.

Resumen Objetivo Describir el conocimiento y el uso de anticonceptivos y de servicios sanitarios en la población gitana de dos barrios de renta baja de Barcelona (2011-2015). Método Estudio de metodología mixta en el ámbito comunitario. 1) Estudio cuantitativo descriptivo transversal. Entrevista con cuestionario a una muestra de residentes en edad fértil. Comparación del conocimiento y el uso de anticonceptivos y de servicios según etnia y sexo con modelos ajustados de regresión logística para obtener odds ratios ajustadas (ORa) y sus intervalos de confianza del 95% (IC95%). 2) Estudio cualitativo descriptivo con método etnográfico. Entrevista a 10 residentes de etnia gitana y tres profesionales de salud para explorar aspectos de anticoncepción, familia y roles. Análisis narrativo de discurso de los textos. Resultados Participaron 834 personas, de las que un 11,8% se autoidentificaron como gitanas. Las mujeres gitanas utilizaban más que las no gitanas la ligadura tubárica (ORa: 3,0; IC95%: 1,3-7) y el implante (ORa: 4,9; IC95%: 3,1-72), y conocían mejor el dispositivo intrauterino (ORa: 2,4; IC95%: 1,4-4,1), la obstrucción tubárica (ORa: 3,3; IC95%: 1,1-9,9) y los inyectables (ORa: 2,4; IC95%: 1,3-4,4). Los hombres gitanos utilizaban más frecuentemente la retirada (ORa: 3,6; IC95%: 1,3-10), práctica corroborada en el estudio cualitativo. Ambas poblaciones utilizaban similarmente la anticoncepción de emergencia y los servicios sanitarios. En la población gitana, la anticoncepción y la reproducción son responsabilidad de las mujeres. Aunque el aborto está culturalmente penalizado en la comunidad gitana, las mujeres gitanas lo utilizan, pero lo afrontan en soledad. Conclusiones El género emergió como un determinante transversal en los aspectos explorados. En la población gitana el control reproductivo sigue siendo una responsabilidad femenina. Una vez completada la familia, las mujeres gitanas usan anticonceptivos de larga duración. Ambas poblaciones utilizan los servicios sanitarios.

Abstract Objective To describe the knowledge and use of contraceptive methods and health services in the Roma population (Kale/Spanish Gitanos) of two low-income neighbourhoods of Barcelona (2011-2015). Method Mixed. Community setting. 1) Descriptive cross-sectional study. We interviewed with a questionnaire a sample of residents of childbearing age. We compared the knowledge and use of contraception and services by ethnic self-identification and sex with adjusted logistic regression models to obtain adjusted odds ratio (ORa) and 95% confidence interval (95%CI). 2) Qualitative descriptive study with ethnographic method. We interviewed 10 Roma residents and three health professionals to explore aspects of contraception, family and roles. We performed a narrative analysis of discourse from the recorded texts. Results 834 people participated, with an 11.8% self-identified Roma population. With regard to the non-Roma population, more Roma women used tubal ligation (ORa: 3.0; 95%CI: 1.3-7)] and implant (ORa:4.9; 95%CI: 3.1-72), and had better knowledge of IUD (ORa: 2,4; 95%CI: 1,4-4,1), tubal obstruction (ORa: 3,3; 95%CI: 1,1-9,9) and injectables (ORa: 2,4; 95%CI: 1.3-4.4). Roma men used withdrawal more frequently (ORa: 3.6; 95%CI: 1.3-10), a practice confirmed in the qualitative study. Both communities used emergency contraception and health services. In the Roma population, contraception and reproduction are in the hands of women. As abortion is culturally penalized in the Roma population, women use it, but they face it alone. Conclusions Gender emerged as a cross-cutting determinant in all issues explored. In the Roma population reproductive control and contraception remain the responsibility of women. Once the family is complete, Roma women use long-term contraception. Both populations use health services.

Resumen Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación realizada en una universidad privada formadora de profesores en Chile y su objetivo es caracterizar la retroalimentación que otorgan los docentes a sus estudiantes al devolver trabajos conducentes a calificación y conocer las concepciones subyacentes a dichas prácticas. El enfoque de investigación es cualitativo-interpretativo y tuvo como participantes a cuatro profesores de distintas asignaturas y estudiantes inscritos en cada asignatura. Se observó la devolución de trabajos calificados; se analizaron los trabajos corregidos y calificados; se entrevistó a cada docente y se realizó un grupo focal con sus estudiantes. Respecto de la caracterización de la retroalimentación entregada por los docentes, los resultados arrojaron que existe gran variedad en los tipos de retroalimentación: confirmativa, correctiva, especificar logros, especificar lo que falta y construir aprendizajes. Al igual que en la retroalimentación encontrada, se evidenciaron diferencias en las concepciones subyacentes a las prácticas de los docentes observados: retroalimentación entendida como corrección de la tarea, retroalimentación entendida como la especificación del aprendizaje no logrado, retroalimentación entendida como mejoría proyectiva y retroalimentación entendida como diálogo, siendo las dos últimas las más valoradas por los estudiantes. Esta valoración enfatiza la necesidad de incluir la retroalimentación como materia de estudio en los programas de Formación Inicial Docente, pues la novedad de estas materias ha llevado a que no todos los profesores en formación tengan preparación formal en retroalimentación y que, por tanto, en su futuro desempeño en las salas de clases, repliquen lo aprendido por observación en su experiencia universitaria.

Abstract This article presents the results of a research project that aimed at characterizing the feedback given by professors to their students in relation to their academic assignments and at understanding the conceptions related to those practices. The research was conducted in an Initial Teacher Training program imparted by a private university in Chile. The research approach is qualitative-interpretative and had as participants four professors of different subjects and students enrolled in each of those subjects. For this purpose, non-participant observation was carried out, while professors were given feedback to marked assignments, document analysis was conducted to those marked assignments, each professor participated in a semi-structured interview, and a focus group was held with their students. Results showed that there were differences in the underlying conceptions of the participants, which lead to different feedback styles, such as confirmatory, corrective, achievement and learning-oriented, and focused on missing points. Therefore, it could be inferred that professors’ feedbacks were understood in some cases as a mere correction of tasks and pointing out unachieved learning goals, while in others as projective improvement and as an open space for dialogue. These last two were the most valued kind of feedback by the students. Thus, this positive assessment emphasizes the need to include feedback as part of the curriculum of Initial Teacher Training programs to provide a formal framework for giving useful and enriching feedback to students.

Introduction. In Peru, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy are the second cause of maternal mortality. Objective. This evidence-based clinical practice guideline (EB-CPG) provides recommendations for the prevention and treatment of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia. Methods. An adapted EB-CPG was elaborated through a systematic, rigorous and transparent process with a group consisting of methodologists and health professionals who are experts in the management of the disease. The guide has sixteen clinical questions and sixteen recommendations. The search and pre-selection of EB-CPGs were performed, which were evaluated through the "Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II" tool (AGREE-II), for its adaptation. The systematic search for evidence to answer the 16 clinical questions were made in multiple databases: MEDLINE / PubMed, EMBASE / Ovid, Cochrane Library, LILACS and SciELO. Evidences were selected and analyzed critically by clinicians and methodologists in pairs, recommendations were elaborated through the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation methodology (GRADE). Results. With the participation of a panel of clinical experts from the National Perinatal Maternal Institute, representatives from health care networks and other reference institutions, 16 recommendations were established for the prevention and treatment of pregnant women at risk of pre-eclampsia, for pregnant women with pre-eclampsia, eclampsia or hypertensive disease. Conclusions. This article summarizes the evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for the prevention and treatment of preeclampsia and eclampsia in peruvian pregnant women for the national reference institute for maternal and neonatal health of Peru.

Introducción. En Perú, los trastornos hipertensivos del embarazo son la segunda causa de mortalidad materna. Objetivo. La presente guía de práctica clínica basada en evidencias (GPC-BE) brinda recomendaciones para la prevención y tratamiento de la pre-eclampsia y eclampsia. Métodos. Se elaboró una GPC-BE adaptada mediante un proceso sistemático, riguroso y transparente con un grupo elaborador conformado por metodólogos y profesionales de la salud expertos en el manejo de la enfermedad. La guía cuenta con dieciséis preguntas clínicas y dieciséis recomendaciones. Se realizó la búsqueda y preselección de GPC, las mismas que fueron evaluadas mediante el instrumento "Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II" (AGREE II), para su adaptación. La búsqueda sistemática de evidencias para responder las preguntas clínicas se realizó en múltiples bases de datos: MEDLINE/PubMed, EMBASE/Ovid, Cochrane Library, LILACS y SciELO. Las evidencias fueron seleccionadas y analizadas críticamente por pares clínicos y metodológicos; las recomendaciones fueron elaboradas mediante la metodología Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE). Resultados. Con la participación de un panel de expertos clínicos del Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal, redes de salud y otras instituciones de referencia, se elaboraron 16 recomendaciones dirigidas a la prevención y tratamiento de mujeres gestantes en riesgo de pre-eclampsia, gestantes con pre-eclampsia, eclampsia o enfermedad hipertensiva. Conclusiones. Este artículo resume la guía de práctica clínica basada en evidencias para la prevención y tratamiento de pre-eclampsia y eclampsia en gestantes en el instituto de referencia nacional en salud materna y neonatal del Perú.

RESUMEN Los Andes chilenos, entendidos como una región tectónica y geomorfológica característica, son un lugar perfecto para revelar la naturaleza geológica del peligro sísmico. El segmento chileno de la zona de subducción Nazca-Sudamericana ha experimentado mega-terremotos de Magnitud de Momento (Mw) >8,5 (e.g., Mw 9,5 Valdivia, 1960; Mw 8,8 Maule, 2010) y numerosos terremotos de Mw >7,5, ambos tipos con tasas de recurrencia de decenas a cientos de años. En contraste, las fallas corticales en la placa superior sudamericana comúnmente tienen tasas de recurrencia mayores (miles de años) y son conocidas por producir terremotos con magnitud Mw máximas 7,0 a 7,5. Los terremotos del tipo subducción han sido considerados como el principal peligro sísmico en Chile, con el potencial de causar daño importante a la población y economía, pero los terremotos corticales también tienen la capacidad de causar gran destrucción a escala local, debido a la menor profundidad de sus hipocentros. Sin embargo, la naturaleza, las tasas de recurrencia y el deslizamiento de las fallas corticales en Chile están pobremente delimitadas. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo investigar el potencial sismogénico de las fallas corticales en Chile, y contribuir en la estimación de los principales parámetros de las fallas para la evaluación del peligro sísmico. Se examinaron los parámetros principales involucrados en la magnitud de un terremoto, incluyendo largo, ancho y desplazamiento medio de las fallas corticales y su disposición morfotectónica, revelando las similitudes en los parámetros en cada dominio longitudinal (franjas N-S) y una mayor disparidad de W a E (dominios latitudinales). Se muestra que las máximas profundidades de hipocentros corticales cambian en los dominios tectónicos paralelos al margen continental desde 25-30 km en el antearco externo a 8-12 km en el arco volcánico, lo que permite una primera aproximación a la evaluación del potencial sísmico. Aunque dispersos y limitados, los datos estructurales, paleosismológicos y geodésicos actuales sugieren tasas de deslizamiento de las fallas corticales en Chile entre 0,2 mm/a (dominio antearco) y 7,0 mm/a (dominio intraarco). Las diferentes condiciones tectónicas de reactivación de las fallas corticales junto al amplio rango de tasas de deslizamiento complican la estimación del peligro sísmico. La investigación rigurosa del peligro sísmico debe considerar los diferentes escenarios tectónicos, las tasas de recurrencia y de deslizamiento de las fallas corticales andinas. Entender la naturaleza de estas fallas nos ayudará no solo a entender mejor el peligro sísmico asociado, sino que también a precisar la conexión con el ciclo sísmico de subducción.

ABSTRACT The Chilean Andes, as a characteristic tectonic and geomorphological region, is a perfect location to unravel the geologic nature of seismic hazards. The Chilean segment of the Nazca-South American subduction zone has experienced mega-earthquakes with Moment Magnitudes (Mw) >8.5 (e.g., Mw 9.5 Valdivia, 1960; Mw 8.8 Maule, 2010) and many large earthquakes with Mw >7.5, both with recurrence times of tens to hundreds of years. By contrast, crustal faults within the overriding South American plate commonly have longer recurrence times (thousands of years) and are known to produce earthquakes with maximum Mw of 7.0 to 7.5. Subduction-type earthquakes are considered the principal seismic hazard in Chile, with the potential to cause significant damage to its population and economy. However crustal (non-subduction) earthquakes can also cause great destruction at a local scale, because of their shallower hypocentral depth. Nevertheless, the nature, timing and slip rates of crustal seismic sources in the Chilean Andes remain poorly constrained. This work aims to address the seismic potential of the crustal faults in Chile, contributing to the estimation of key fault parameters for the seismic hazard assessment. We have examined the main parameters involved in the magnitude of an earthquake, including length, width and mean displacement of some case studies crustal faults and their morphotectonic settings, exposing the parametrical similarities in longitudinal domains (N-S stripes) and disparity from W to E, across latitudinal domains. The maximum hypocentral depths for crustal earthquakes vary across margin parallel tectonic domains aligned parallel, from 25-30 km in the outer forearc to 8-12 km in the volcanic arc, thus allowing for a first-order approach for seismic potential assessment. Current structural, paleoseismological and geodetic data, although sparse and limited, suggest that slip rates of Chilean crustal faults range from 0.2 mm/yr (in the forearc region) to up to 7.0 mm/yr (in the intra-arc region). The different tectonic modes for crustal fault reactivation and their wide range of slip rates complicates the estimation of seismic hazard. A rigorous seismic hazard assessment must therefore consider the different tectonic settings, timing and slip rates of Andean crustal faults. Understanding the nature of these faults will allow a better evaluation of the associated seismic hazard, and better constraints to be placed on their relationship with the subduction seismic cycle.

Resumen Se realizó un estudio sobre el deterioro de humedales alto andinos en una zona de Páramo entre los municipios de Villamaría y Manizales (Colombia), mediante un análisis multitemporal utilizando imágenes de satélite provenientes de sensores ópticos, tales como LANDSAT y RAPIDEYE e imágenes provenientes de sensores de RADAR (ALOS PALSAR, SENTINEL 1) y análisis de factores antrópicos y naturales, como resultado los humedales han tenido un retroceso significativo con una tendencia lineal para una pérdida de espejos de agua del 67,9% en un periodo de 9 años. Existe una relación directa entre la pérdida de humedales y la disminución de precipitación, así como con los procesos de antropización. Del análisis de factores antrópicos se puede determinar que el uso pecuario y agrícola son los usos que en su mayoría han presentado un efecto negativo referido al deterioro de los humedales en el área de trabajo.

Abstract A study was performed regarding high Andean wetland degradation in a paramo area between the municipalities of Villamaría and Manizales, Colombia, by way of multi-temporal analysis, using satellite images from optical sensors, such as LANDSAT and RAPIDEYE, as well as images from RADAR sensors (ALOS PALSAR, SENTINEL 1), and analysis of anthropic and natural factors. As a result, the wetlands have begun a significant, linear decline with 67.9% water mirror loss in a nine-year period. There is also a direct relationship between wetland loss, and decreases in precipitation, and anthropization processes. It was determined, from the anthropic factor analysis, that that livestock and agricultural land use are those which cause the greatest negative effect on wetland decline in the studied area.

Abstract Introduction A neuromusculoskeletal disease not only affects the person who suffers it but also directly affects the family and in particular with the informal primary caregiver. Care work increases the psychological morbidity and stress of primary caregivers. The aim of the present study was to identify the relationship between overload and the rate of depression present in informal primary caregivers of patients with the neuromusculoskeletal disease. Methods An exploratory study was carried out that included 18 informal primary caregivers of patients with the neuromusculoskeletal disease, and who attended a consultation at the University Rehabilitation Unit of the Autonomous University of Yucatan. Results Among the sociodemographic characteristics, female caregivers prevailed (83%) with a family relationship with the patient. Also, primary married status and a bachelor’s degree level predominated among primary caregivers. The relationship between overload and depression index was high and significant (r = 0.72, p = 0.0007). In conclusion, these results suggest that the greater the overload produced by the tasks of care, the greater the degree of involvement in the state of the informal primary caregiver. This study will help in the development of an intervention program to prevent overload in informal primary caregivers.

Resumen Introducción Una enfermedad neuromusculoesquelética no solo afecta a la persona que la padece, sino que también repercute de manera directa en la familia y en particular al cuidador primario informal. Las labores de cuidado incrementan la morbilidad psicológica y el estrés de los cuidadores primarios. El objetivo del presente estudio consiste en identificar la relación entre la sobrecarga y el índice de depresión presente en los cuidadores primarios informales de pacientes con enfermedad neuromusculoesquelética. Material y Métodos Se realizó un estudio exploratorio que incluyó a 18 cuidadores primarios informales de pacientes con enfermedad neuromusculoesquelética, y que asistieron a consulta en la Unidad Universitaria de Rehabilitación de la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán. Resultados Entre las características sociodemográficas predominaron las cuidadoras del sexo femenino (83%) con parentesco familiar con el paciente. Además, predomino entre los cuidadores primarios el estado civil casado y un nivel de estudios de licenciatura. La relación entre la sobrecarga y el índice de depresión fue elevada y significativa (r=0.72, p=0.0007). En conclusión, estos resultados sugieren que, a mayor sobrecarga producida por las labores del cuidado, mayor será el grado de afectación en el estado anímico del cuidador primario informal. Este estudio ayudará en la elaboración de un programa de intervención para prevenir la sobrecarga en cuidadoras primarias informales.

Resumen El siguiente artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación realizada con base en el análisis de dos documentos del portafolio del Sistema de Evaluación del Desempeño Docente en Chile: un procedimiento de evaluación corregido de un estudiante y la respectiva retroalimentación que la persona docente le realizaría a este estudiante en modalidad de diálogo. Su objetivo general consistió en caracterizar el tipo de retroalimentación realizada por quienes enseñan e inferir las concepciones subyacentes. Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo, de carácter exploratorio y descriptivo, consistente en un análisis documental con base en categorías pre-definidas. En total, se analizaron los procedimientos de evaluación y retroalimentaciones que 158 docentes presentaron en su portafolio el año 2012. Los resultados muestran que en el procedimiento de evaluación corregido, la retroalimentación se dirige a explicar o justificar el puntaje y calificación obtenida por el estudiante, sugiriendo una concepción orientada a la corrección. En la modalidad de diálogo, la retroalimentación se dirige, por un lado, al ego del estudiante, alabándolo o felicitándolo sin vinculación a su aprendizaje, lo que implica una concepción de retroalimentación como elogio. Por otro lado, se dirige al trabajo del estudiante y se focaliza en sus errores o ausencias, sugiriendo una concepción de retroalimentación como especificación del aprendizaje no logrado, con escasa presencia de sugerencias para mejorar. Se concluye que la retroalimentación, a partir de la evaluación, dista mucho de ser una herramienta educativa que promueva mejoras permanentes en el aprendizaje estudiantil.

Abstract The following article presents the results of an investigation carried out based on the analysis of two documents of the portfolio of the Teacher Evaluation System: a marked evaluation procedure of a student and the respective feedback that the teacher would give to that student in modality of dialogue. Its main objective was to characterize the type of feedback made by teachers and to infer the underlying conceptions. The study’s design was descriptive-exploratory and consisted of a documentary analysis based on pre-defined categories. In total, the evaluation procedures and feedback of 158 teachers presented in their portfolio in 2012 were analyzed. The results show that in the marked evaluation procedure, the feedback was directed to explain or justify the score and grade obtained by the student, which suggests a conception oriented to the correction. In the dialogue mode, feedback was directed to students’ ego, praising or congratulating him or her without being linked to their learning process, which implies a conception of feedback as a compliment. Also, it focuses on students’ work and on their errors or absences, suggesting a conception of feedback as a specification of failed learning, with little presence of suggestions for improvement. It is concluded that assessment feedback is far from being an educational tool that promotes permanent improvements in students learning.

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and obesity are a public health problem in Chile. Bariatric surgery is the most effective treatment alternative to achieve a significant and sustained weight reduction in patients with morbid obesity. The results of controlled clinical trials indicate that, compared to medical treatment, surgery for obese patients with DM2 allows a better control of blood glucose and cardiovascular risk factors, reduces the need for medications and increases the likelihood for remission. Consensus conferences and clinical practice guidelines support bariatric surgery as an option to treat DM2 in Class III Obesity (Body Mass Index (BMI) > 40) regardless of the glycemic control and the complexity of pharmacological treatment and in Class II Obesity (BMI 35-39,9) with inadequate glycemic control despite optimal pharmacological treatment and lifestyle. However, surgical indication for patients with DM2 and BMI between 30-34.9, the most prevalent sub-group, is only suggested. The Chilean Societies of Endocrinology and Diabetes and of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery decided to generate a consensus regarding the importance of other factors related to DM2 that would allow a better selection of candidates for surgery, particularly when weight does not constitute an indication. Considering the national reality, we also need a statement regarding the selection and characteristics of the surgical procedure as well as the role of the diabetologist in the multidisciplinary team.

ABSTRACT This study aimed compare individual tactical behavior and network properties of players with higher and lower tactical skills during soccer small-sided games. The sample was composed of 18 U-17 elite soccer players (16.2 years old) from the same national level team. Players were divided into group 1 and group 2, with higher and lower tactical skill, respectively, measured by the FUT-SAT. After this, they played 12 small-sided games in a 36x27m field with all rules of the formal game. Players’ tactical behavior was assessed through the incidence of fundamental tactical principles during the SSG. Total links, density and clustering coefficient were defined as the general network metrics. Data were analyzed through independent t-test and Mann-Whitney test. Results showed that group 1 presented higher values of total links (p=0.007) and density (p=0.007). Group 1 also presented a higher incidence of defensive unity (p=0.001), while group 2 realized more actions of defensive balance (p=0.008) and recovery balance (p=0.038). We conclude that tactical skills are able to constraint individual team behavior in small-sided games.

RESUMO Este estudo objetivou comparar o comportamento tático individual e as propriedades da rede de interações de atletas com maior e menor capacidade tática durante pequenos jogos no futebol. A amostra foi composta por 19 jogadores de futebol sub-17 (16.2 anos) de um mesmo time, de nível nacional. Jogadores foram divididos em grupo 1 e grupo 2, com maior e menor capacidade tática, respectivamente, medida pelo FUT-SAT. Na sequência, eles participaram de 12 pequenos jogos em um campo de 36mx27m com todas as regras do jogo formal. Avaliou-se o comportamento tático dos jogadores por meio da incidência dos princípios táticos fundamentais durante os pequenos jogos. Total links, densidade e clustering coefficient foram definidos com as medidas das propriedades gerais da rede. Analisaram-se os dados por meio do teste t independente e do teste de Mann-Whitney. Os resultados mostraram que o grupo 1 apresentou maiores valores para total links (p=0.007) e densidade (p=0.007). O grupo 1 apresentou ainda maior incidência de ações de unidade defensiva (p=0.001), enquanto o grupo 2 realizou mais ações de equilíbrio defensivo (p=0.008) e equilíbrio de recuperação (p=0.038). Conclui-se que a capacidade tática influencia o comportamento individual e coletivo durante pequenos jogos.

ABSTRACT Objective To understand the life experience of adolescents who use illicit drugs. Method A phenomenological qualitative study conducted in a Youth Integration Center of Sinaloa Mexico from October 2016 to July 2017. The phenomenological interview was conducted with 11 adolescent informants and was based on a leading question. Heideggerian hermeneutics were used as a reference for the analysis of the narratives that identified the phenomenon described. Results Three categories expressed the phenomenon: family roughness, which revealed a violent, oppressive world lacking in affection and moral values; experimenting in the world of drug use, which revealed its existence and experimentation with several drugs and the novelty in that world; and the hope of “being there”, which portrays an individual with possibilities to coexist with themselves, society, family, loved ones and their spirituality. Conclusion The understanding of the life experience reflects the adolescent drug user’s need for sensitive and comprehensive human care provided by a multidisciplinary health team.

RESUMO Objetivo Compreender a experiência de vida dos adolescentes consumidores de drogas ilícitas. Método Estudo qualitativo fenomenológico realizado em um Centro de Integração Juvenil de Sinaloa, México de outubro de 2016 a julho de 2017. Foi realizada a entrevista fenomenológica com 11 informantes adolescentes, partindo de uma pergunta norteadora. A hermenêutica Heideggeriana foi o referencial para a análise das narrativas que permitiu identificar o fenômeno situado. Resultados 3 categorias que expressaram o fenômeno: Aspereza familiar, que evidencia um mundo de violência, opressão, carente de afeto e valores morais. Experimentando no mundo do consumo, que revela sua existência e experimentação com o policonsumo e as novidades desse mundo; e a Esperança do “estar aí” que mostra um ser com possibilidades de existir com ele, a sociedade, a família, os entes queridos e sua espiritualidade. Conclusão A compreensão da experiência de vida reflete a necessidade de um cuidado humano, sensível e compreensivo do adolescente consumidor de drogas por uma equipe multidisciplinar de saúde.

Experimentando en el mundo del consumo, que desvela su existencia y experimentación con el policonsumo y lo novedoso en ese mundo; y la Esperanza del “estar ahí” que muestra un ser con posibilidades de existir con él, la sociedad, la familia, los seres queridos y su espiritualidad. Conclusión La comprensión de la experiencia de vida refleja la necesidad de un cuidado humano, sensible y comprensivo del adolescente consumidor de drogas por un equipo multidisciplinario de salud.

Abstract Sugarcane crop involves a wide variety of pesticides. Therefore, there is a need to know their status of use and to identify their health risk on the occupationally exposed population. The aim was to identify pesticides used during the last 30 years on this agroecosystem, in the Irrigation District 035 “La Antigua”, Veracruz, Mexico, and its potential effects on human health. A search of historical data along with a survey among farmers in the Modelo and Gloria mills were carried out in 2011. Twenty-eight different active ingredients have been applied from 1980 to 2012. Carbofuran and monocrotophos as well as herbicides, such as triazine, 2, 4-D and monosodium methyl arsenate, had been the most common used insecticides. Pesticides used are closely related to induce immune and endocrine disruption, damage to the peripheral and central nervous systems, and carcinogenesis in humans.

Resumen El cultivo de caña de azúcar involucra gran diversidad de plaguicidas. Por tanto, se requiere conocer su estatus de uso e identificar el nivel de riesgo en la salud de la población ocupacionalmente expuesta. El objetivo fue identificar los plaguicidas utilizados en los últimos 30 años en este agroecosistema en el Distrito de Riego 035 “La Antigua”, Veracruz, México, y sus efectos potenciales en salud humana. En el año 2011 se realizó una revisión de archivos históricos y se aplicó una encuesta a productores de los ingenios El Modelo y La Gloria. Se registraron los plaguicidas utilizados del año 1980 al 2012. Se documentó la aplicación de 28 ingredientes activos. Destacan los insecticidas carbofurán y monocrotofós y los herbicidas triazinas, 2,4-D y metano arsonato monosodio. Los plaguicidas utilizados a la fecha tienen efecto en la salud humana como disrupción endócrina e inmunitaria, daños al sistema nervioso central y periférico, y carcinogénesis.
