Resumen: Antecedentes: El cáncer es un problema de salud pública, una de las variables psicosociales en relación con esta enfermedad es el estrés, por tanto es necesario tener una escala que mida el estrés en población hispana con cáncer. Objetivo: Determinar las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala de Medida del Estado Actual (MOCS, por sus igla en inglés) en pacientes mexicanos con cáncer. Método: Estudio transversal, instrumental no experimental. Participaron 197 pacientes de 18 a 81 años, de cualquier etapa clínica, en tratamiento o seguimiento del cáncer. Instrumentos: MOCS y termómetro de malestar emocional. Análisis estadísticos: análisis factorial confirmatorio para evaluar el ajuste del modelo a los datos mediante el método de máxima verosimilitud y puntos de corte. Resultados: Se obtuvieron dos modelos, el primero, estado actual autopercibido, con un alfa de .90 varianza explicada de 74.2 %, el segundo, efectos inespecíficos, con un alfa de .61 varianza explicada de 74.3 %. El análisis factorial confirmatorio mostró que ambos modelos tuvieron índices que sugieren estabilidad, ajuste aceptable, se muestran puntajes mediante rangos intercuartílicos para cada modelo. Conclusiones: la versión mexicana del MOCS tiene confiabilidad y validez, su estructura factorial confirmatoria es similar a la versión original. Se recomienda su uso en la práctica clínica e investigación en pacientes con cáncer.

Abstract: Background: Cancer is a public health problem, and stress is one of the psychosocial variables associated to this disease, which calls for the need to have a reliable scale to measures stress in the Hispanic population with cancer. Objective: To determine the psychometric properties of the Measurement of Current Status (MOCS) Scale in Mexican cancer patients. Method: Study design: Cross-sectional, non-experimental instrumental. A total of 197 patients aged 18-81 years, at any clinical stage, receiving cancer treatment or follow-up were included. Instruments: MOCS and emotional distress thermometer. Statistical analysis: Confirmatory factor analysis was performed to evaluate the fit of the model to the data using the maximum likelihood estimation and cut-off points. Results: Two models were obtained. The first, self-perceived current state, had an alpha of .90 with an explained variance of 74.2 %; the second, non-specific effect, with an alpha of .61 and an explained variance of 74.3 %. The confirmatory factor analysis showed that both models had indexes suggesting stability and acceptable adjustment. Scores are shown by interquartile ranges for each model. Conclusions: The Mexican version of the MOCS is reliable and valid; with a confirmatory factor structure similar to the original version. Therefore, we support its use in the clinical and research setting with cancer patients.

Resumo: Antecedentes: O câncer é um problema de saúde pública, uma das variáveis psicossociais relacionadas a essa doença é o estresse, portanto, é necessário ter uma escala que meça o estresse na população hispânica com câncer. Objetivo: Determinar as propriedades psicométricas da Escala de Medição do Estado Atual (MOCS) em pacientes mexicanos com câncer. Método: Desenho do estudo: transversal, instrumental, não experimental. Participaram 197 pacientes com idades entre 18 e 81 anos, em qualquer estágio clínico, em tratamento ou acompanhamento do câncer. Instrumentos: MOCS e Termômetro de desconforto emocional. Análises estatísticas: análise fatorial confirmatória para avaliar o ajuste do modelo aos dados por meio do método de máxima verossimilhança e pontos de corte. Resultados: Foram obtidos dois modelos, o primeiro estado atual autopercebido com um alfa de 0,90 variância explicada de 74,2 %, o segundo efeito inespecífico com um alfa de 0,61 variância explicada de 74,3 %; a análise fatorial confirmatória mostrou que ambos os modelos tiveram índices que sugerem estabilidade, ajuste aceitável e são demonstradas pontuações por meio de intervalos interquartis para cada modelo. Conclusões: a versão mexicana do MOCS tem confiabilidade e validade; sua estrutura fatorial confirmatória é semelhante à versão original. É recomendado para prática clínica e pesquisa em pacientes com câncer.

Resumen Objetivo: Identificar si las características de la cefalea y sus síntomas y signos acompañantes se asocian a metástasis cerebrales en pacientes con cáncer sistémico. Material y Métodos: Pacientes con cáncer sistémico y cefalea vistos en un centro nacional de referencia entre junio 2012 y junio 2018 fueron incluidos. Se excluyeron pacientes con tumores primarios del SNC y con neoplasias hematológicas. Se realizaron regresiones logísticas simples y múltiples para medir la asociación entre las características clínicas y la presencia de metástasis cerebrales. Resultados: Se incluyeron 572 pacientes con cáncer y cefalea, de los cuales, 216 (38%) fueron diagnosticados con metástasis cerebrales. Las características asociadas con metástasis cerebrales fueron género masculino [Razón de momios (RM) = 1.9], cefalea que inició después del diagnóstico de cáncer (RM = 2.1), tipo opresivo (RM = 1.9), presencia de vómito (RM = 5.8), que la cefalea no incrementara con cambios en la posición (RM = 2.2), y localización generalizada (RM = 0.34). Adicionalmente, el presentar otro síntoma o signo además de la cefalea se documentó en el 73% de los pacientes con metástasis cerebrales y fue significativamente asociado con una mayor probabilidad de metástasis cerebrales (RM = 6.08); especialmente cuando presentaron alteración del estado de alerta (RM = 15), queja visual (RM = 15), déficit motor (RM = 11), convulsiones (RM = 15), ataxia (RM = 15), o vértigo (RM = 3.8). Conclusión: Al evaluar la posibilidad de tener el diagnóstico de metástasis cerebrales, el equipo encargado de la atención de los pacientes deberá considerar las características de la cefalea y los síntomas o signos acompañantes.

Abstract Objective: The objective of the study was to identify if headache characteristics and accompanying signs or symptoms are associated with brain metastases (BM) in patients with non-central nervous system (CNS) cancer. Materials and Methods: Patients with systemic cancer and headache seen at a single center between June 2012 and June 2018 were included in the study. Hematologic or primary CNS tumors were excluded from the study. Simple and multiple logistic regression analyses were used to measure associations with BM. Results: From 572 patients with cancer and headache, 216 (38%) were diagnosed with BM. Characteristics associated with BM were male sex [odds ratio (OR) = 1.9], headache starting after cancer diagnosis (OR = 2.1), oppressive type (OR = 1.9), presence of vomiting (OR = 5.8), not increased by changes in position (OR = 2.2), and generalized location (OR = 0.34). In addition, having another symptom/sign other than headache was seen in 73% of patients with BM and was significantly associated with higher odds of BM (OR = 6.08), especially if patients presented with altered mental status (OR = 15), visual complaint (OR = 15), focal motor weakness (OR = 11), seizures (OR = 15), ataxia (OR = 19), or vertigo (OR = 3.8). Conclusion: To assess their odds of being diagnosed with BM, the attending team should consider the characteristics of the headache and any accompanying symptoms and signs.

ABSTRACT Introduction. In 2021, the ESWEP Score was developed, a tool that considers variables to decide between primary closure or ostomy in enteric perforation, the cut-off point was 11, no traumatic perforation was considered. Validating ESWEP Score, in all segments of the digestive tract, and patients with traumatic perforation, would allow providing optimal treatment. Materials and methods. Retrospective study, through anesthesiology service records, included 49 with traumatic and non-traumatic gastrointestinal perforation in whom primary closure was performed between years 2020-2022. Statistical analysis was performed in SPSS 28.0 .1. Results. 49 patients were included with a mean score of 9.06 SD 3.243, 41 cases (83.7%) with a score less than or equal to 11, only 8 cases with score >11, 65.3% were perforations of traumatic origin, only 10.2% of cases presented dehiscence with a mean score of 14.4 SD 2.8. Fisher's exact test rejected independence between ESWEP Score and dehiscence, with p=0.001, no association between other variables was confirmed. The association between the cut-off point established by Ammar & Cols. with primary closure dehiscence. Conclusion. ESWEP Score is a useful tool for surgical decision making in patients with traumatic and non-traumatic gastrointestinal perforation.

RESUMEN Introducción. En 2021 fue desarrollado ESWEP Score, una herramienta que considera variables para decidir entre cierre primario u ostomía en perforación entérica, el punto de corte fue 11, no se contempló perforación traumática. Validar ESWEP Score, en todos los segmentos del tracto digestivo, y pacientes con perforación traumática, permitiría proveer tratamiento óptimo. Materiales y métodos. Estudio retrospectivo, a través de registros del servicio de anestesiología, se incluyeron 49 con perforación gastrointestinal traumática y no traumática en quienes se realizó cierre primario, entre 2020-2022. Se efectuó el análisis estadístico en SPSS 28.0.1 Resultados. Se incluyen 49 pacientes con media de puntaje 9,06 DE 3,243, 41 pacientes (83,7%) con puntaje menor o igual a 11, 8 de los casos (16,3%) con score >11, 65,3% fueron perforaciones de origen traumático, sólo se presentó dehiscencia 10.2% de casos con media de puntaje fue 14,4 DE 2,8. La prueba exacta de Fisher rechazó independencia entre ESWEP Score y dehiscencia, con p=0,001, no se corroboró asociación entre otras variables. Se confirma la asociación entre el punto corte que establecieron Ammar & Cols. con la dehiscencia de cierre primario. Conclusión. ESWEP Score resulta una herramienta útil para la toma de decisiones quirúrgicas en pacientes con perforación gastrointestinal traumática y no traumática.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Vascular access remains one of the most important challenges in all dialysis units due to the complications associated with its use and its significant impact on the morbidity and mortality of renal patients. The three most used types of vascular access are native arteriovenous fistula, graft or prosthetic arteriovenous fistula, and central venous catheter. Objective: To analyze and evaluate the current situation and incidence of complications related to different vascular accesses in hemodialysis. Methodology: A systematic review was conducted using the PubMed, CINAHL, SCOPUS, and SciELO databases. All original articles published within the last 5 years that aimed to analyze the prevalence or incidence of complications related to any vascular access in hemodialysis in the adult population were included. Results: A total of 15 articles were included for analysis. Among them, 14 were observational studies, and one was a multicenter clinical trial. Demographic data of the patients, the prevalence of complications across all vascular accesses, and the incidence of complications for native fistula/prosthetic fistula/central venous catheter were analyzed. Conclusions: Native arteriovenous fistula is the preferred vascular access due to its very low complication rates. Among the complications, thrombosis has the highest incidence. The use of central venous catheters is still common, despite having higher rates of complications such as infections and bacteremia, occurring in 10%-17% of the patients.

RESUMEN Introducción: El acceso vascular sigue siendo uno de los retos más importantes en todas las unidades de diálisis, por todas las complicaciones derivadas de su uso y el gran impacto en la morbimortalidad del enfermo renal. Los tres tipos de acceso vascular más utilizados son la fístula arteriovenosa nativa, el injerto o fístula arteriovenosa protésica y el catéter venoso central. Objetivo: Analizar y evaluar la situación actual y la incidencia de las complicaciones relacionadas con los diferentes accesos vasculares en hemodiálisis. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión sistemática en las bases de datos PubMed, CINAHL, SCOPUS y SciELO. Se incluyeron todos los artículos originales de menos de 5 años de antigüedad en los que uno de sus objetivos fuera analizar la prevalencia o incidencia de las complicaciones de cualquier acceso vascular en hemodiálisis en población adulta. Resultados: El número de artículos para el análisis fueron 15. De ellos, 14 fueron estudios observacionales y uno, un ensayo clínico multicéntrico. Se analizaron datos demográficos de los pacientes, la prevalencia de complicaciones entre todos los accesos vasculares y la incidencia de complicaciones según fístula nativa/protésica/catéter venoso central. Conclusiones: La fístula arteriovenosa nativa es el acceso vascular de elección ya que tiene tasas de complicaciones muy bajas. De entre ellas, la trombosis, es la complicación con más incidencia. El uso de catéter venoso central todavía es muy habitual, pese a ser el acceso vascular que presenta mayores tasas de complicaciones como las infecciones y la bacteriemia, produciéndose en un 10%-17% de los pacientes portadores.

Resumen. Reportar y documentar avistamientos que representan nuevos registros o corresponden a especies con escasas observaciones en una determinada región, permite entender mejor su distribución espacial y temporal. Durante 2014 - 2022, llevamos a cabo observaciones de aves en cuatro Áreas Naturales Protegidas y tres áreas sin ningún tipo de protección en el estado de Morelos. Registramos avistamientos de 12 especies de importancia estatal. Estos incluyen tres especies no reportadas anteriormente en Morelos (Elanoides forficatus, Limosa haemastica, y Setophaga discolor), tres especies que únicamente han sido reportadas en plataformas de ciencia ciudadana pero que no han sido analizadas en la literatura científica (Egretta rufescens, Calocitta colliei y Progne chalybea), y seis especies con escasos registros en el estado (Eudocimus albus, Buteogallus urubitinga, Athene cunicularia, Granatellus venustus, Cyanocompsa parellina y Setophaga americana) para las cuales aportamos información adicional. Nuestras observaciones contribuyen al análisis de los registros existentes de estas especies para proponer un estatus de residencia, entender mejor su distribución espacial o evidenciar la necesidad de más información en Morelos. Esto será de utilidad para futuros trabajos relacionados con el análisis de su distribución potencial, la actualización de mapas de distribución más utilizadas en México, así como aportar información para la toma de decisiones en acciones de conservación.

Abstract. Reporting and documenting sightings that represent new records or correspond to species with few sightings in a particular region permits a better understanding of their spatial and temporal distribution. During 2014 - 2022, we observed birds in four Natural Protected Areas and three areas with no protected status in Morelos state. We recorded sightings of 12 species of state importance. These included three species not previously reported in Morelos (Elanoides forficatus, Limosa haemastica, and Setophaga discolor), three species that had only been reported on citizen science plataforms but not analyzed in scientific literature (Egretta rufescens, Calocitta colliei and Progne chalybea), and six species with few reports in the state (Eudocimus albus, Buteogallus urubitinga, Athene cunicularia, Granatellus venustus, Cyanocompsa parellina and Setophaga americana) for which we provide additional information. Our observations contribute to the analysis of existing records for these species to propose residency status, better understand their spatial distribution, or demonstrate the need for more information in Morelos. This will be useful for future studies on analysis of their potential distribution, updating the distribution maps most used in Mexico, as well as providing information for decision making towards conservation actions.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate two Streptomyces spp. probiotic strains (RL8 and N7) and four highly-diluted bioactive compounds (HDBC) in the growth, survival, and modulation of the microbial content in culture water and hepatopancreas of juvenile white shrimp Penaeus vannamei. An experimental design was applied with five treatments in triplicate, including T1: (RL8+N7); T2: [(ViP-7C+ViA-7C) + (PhA-7C+SiT-7C)]; T3: [(ViP-7C+ViA-7C) + (PhA-7C+SiT-7C) + (N7)]; T4: [(ViP-7C+ViA-7C) + (PhA-7C+SiT-7C) + (RL8)] and T5 as the control without actinobacteria or HDBC. T2 showed significant differences (P < 0.5) in height increase compared to the other treated and control groups. The organisms in T2, T3, and T4 recorded higher weight gain compared to T1 and T5. A survival rate from 94.13 ± 2.12 to 99.01 ± 2.45% was obtained with a significant difference (P < 0.05) between T1, T2, and T3, concerning the untreated control (T5). A significant decrease in Vibrio spp. the content was observed in water and shrimp in T1 and T2 concerning the control. The heterotrophic bacterial count in hepatopancreas increased with all treatments compared to T5. Our results suggest a positive synergy between the HDBC mixture [(ViP-7C+ViA-7C) + (PhA-7C+SiT-7C)] and N7 Streptomyces sp. strain, whose probiotic action has been previously demonstrated by improving culture conditions for P. vannamei juveniles in terms of growth, survival, and reduction of potentially pathogenic bacteria.

Resumen Antecedentes: El cáncer de células pequeñas (CPCP) representa el 13-15% del total de neoplasias primarias de pulmón. Se caracteriza por su rapidez en la tasa de crecimiento y en el desarrollo de metástasis a distancia. Objetivos: Orientar y estandarizar el tratamiento del CPCP, enfermedad limitada, en México, basado en evidencia clínica nacional e internacional. Material y métodos: Este documento se desarrolló como una colaboración entre el Instituto Nacional de Cancerología y la Sociedad Mexicana de Oncología en cumplimiento con estándares internacionales. Se integró un grupo conformado por oncólogos médicos, cirujanos oncólogos, cirujanos de tórax, radio-oncólogos y metodólogos con experiencia en revisiones sistemáticas de la literatura y guías de práctica clínica. Resultados: Se consensuaron, por el método Delphi y en reuniones a distancia, las recomendaciones en CPCP enfermedad limitada, producto de las preguntas de trabajo. Se identificó y evaluó críticamente la evidencia científica que responde a cada una de dichas preguntas clínicas, antes de incorporarla a la guía. Conclusión: Esta guía proporciona recomendaciones clínicas para el manejo de la enfermedad limitada del CPCP y durante el proceso de toma de decisiones de los clínicos involucrados con su manejo en nuestro país para mejorar la calidad de la atención clínica en estos pacientes.

Abstract Background: Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) represents 13-15% of all primary lung neoplasms and is characterized by rapid growth rate and development of distant metastases. Objectives: To guide and standardize the treatment of limited disease small cell lung cancer in Mexico based on national and international clinical evidence. Material and methods: This document was developed as a collaboration between the National Cancer Institute and the Mexican Society of Oncology in compliance with international standards. An interdisciplinary group was formed, including medical oncologists, oncological surgeons, thoracic surgeons, radiation oncologists, and methodologists with experience in systematic reviews of the literature and clinical practice guidelines. Results: Consensus recommendations were reached, both by the Delphi method and in remote meetings, for limited SCLC disease resulting from the same number of work questions. The scientific evidence that answers each of these clinical questions was identified and critically evaluated, before being incorporated into the body of evidence of the guide. Conclusion: This guide provides clinical recommendations for the management of limited disease SCLC to contribute to the decision-making process of the clinicians involved with its management in our country, hoping that this will contribute to improving the quality of clinical care in these patients.

RESUMO Objetivos. Determinar a prevalência de anticorpos contra Treponema pallidum e vírus herpes simples tipo 2 (HSV-2) e identificar os fatores associados a essas infecções entre migrantes em trânsito por Chiapas, México. Métodos. Estudo transversal realizado nos anos de 2021 e 2022 em três abrigos de migrantes em Chiapas, México. Os participantes preencheram um questionário e forneceram uma amostra de sangue para a detecção de anticorpos contra Treponema pallidum e HSV-2. Calculou-se a soroprevalência e avaliaram-se os fatores associados usando testes de χ2 e razões de chances. Resultados. O estudou incluiu 462 migrantes com idade média de 31,2 anos, dos quais 56,9% eram mulheres e 41,1% vinham de Honduras. A soroprevalência do HSV-2 foi de 29,9%. A soroprevalência de sífilis, por sua vez, foi de 4,5%, sendo mais alta nos homens (8,0%) do que nas mulheres (1,9%). Os anticorpos contra a sífilis estavam presentes em 15,4% das mulheres grávidas. As principais variáveis associadas à sífilis foram sexo masculino e história de lesões genitais, além de parceiros do mesmo sexo e soropositividade para HSV-2. Com relação ao HSV-2, fatores como sexo feminino, idade, escolaridade, dormir na rua, história de teste de HIV, iniciação sexual precoce, número de parceiros sexuais e sífilis estavam associados a infecção. Conclusões. A população migrante avaliada apresenta alta prevalência de sífilis e HSV-2. Confirmou-se que a sífilis é uma infecção reemergente, inclusive em mulheres. Os migrantes apresentam vulnerabilidades associadas ao comportamento sexual; portanto, é preciso concentrar medidas de prevenção, diagnóstico e tratamento nesse grupo populacional.

ABSTRACT Objectives. To determine the prevalence of antibodies against Treponema pallidum and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), and to identify the factors associated with these infections among migrants in transit in Chiapas, Mexico. Methods. Cross-sectional study conducted during 2021–2022, in three migrant shelters in Chiapas, Mexico. Participants answered a questionnaire and provided a blood sample to detect antibodies against Treponema pallidum and HSV-2. The study calculated seroprevalence and assessed associated factors using Chi-square (χ2) tests and odds ratios. Results. A total of 462 migrants participated, with an average age of 31.2 years; 56.9% were women, and 41.1% came from Honduras. The seroprevalence of HSV-2 was 29.9%; for syphilis it was 4.5%, and it was higher in men (8.0%) than in women (1.9%). Among pregnant women, 15.4% had antibodies against syphilis. Notable variables associated with syphilis include being male, having a history of genital lesions, having same-sex partners, and seropositivity to HSV-2. Regarding HSV-2, factors associated with infection included being female, age, schooling, sleeping in the street, a history of HIV testing, early sexual debut, number of sexual partners, and syphilis. Conclusions. A high prevalence of syphilis and HSV-2 was found among the migrant population evaluated. Syphilis is confirmed as a re-emerging infection, even in women. Migrants have vulnerabilities associated with sexual behavior, so prevention, diagnosis, and treatment measures should be focused on this population group.

RESUMEN Objetivos. Determinar la prevalencia de anticuerpos contra Treponema pallidum y virus herpes simple tipo 2 (VHS-2), así como identificar los factores asociados a dichas infecciones entre migrantes en tránsito en Chiapas, México. Métodos. Estudio transversal realizado durante 2021-2022, en tres albergues para migrantes en Chiapas, México. Las personas contestaron un cuestionario y proporcionaron una muestra de sangre para la detección de anticuerpos contra Treponema pallidum y VHS-2. Se calculó la seroprevalencia y se evaluaron los factores asociados mediante pruebas de χ2 y razones de momios. Resultados. Participaron 462 migrantes, con edad promedio de 31,2 años, 56,9 % eran mujeres, 41,1 % provenían de Honduras. La seroprevalencia de VHS-2 fue 29,9 % mientras que la de sífilis fue 4,5 %, siendo mayor en hombres (8,0 %) que en mujeres (1,9 %). El 15,4 % de las embarazadas presentaban anticuerpos contra sífilis. Entre las variables asociadas a sífilis destacan el ser hombre, antecedente de lesiones genitales, así como tener parejas del mismo sexo y la seropositividad a VHS-2. Con relación al VHS-2, factores como ser mujer, edad, escolaridad, dormir en la calle, antecedente de prueba de VIH, debut sexual temprano, número de parejas sexuales y sífilis estuvieron asociados a la infección. Conclusiones. Se encontró una prevalencia elevada de sífilis y VHS-2 entre la población migrante evaluada. La sífilis se confirma como una infección reemergente, incluso en las mujeres. Los migrantes presenta vulnerabilidades asociadas al comportamiento sexual, por lo que se deben enfocar medidas de prevención, diagnóstico y tratamiento para este grupo poblacional.

Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the photosynthetic response of citrus varieties to the inoculation of isolates T30 and T3 of Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) characterized as having potential to provide cross-protection against severe CTV isolates in citrus. Citrus plants of 'Campbell' orange, 'Persian' lime, and 'Key' lime were subjected to inoculations by both isolates by patch. Noninoculated plants were used as the control. Symptom expression, photosynthetic and transpiration rates, and stomatal conductance were evaluated by IRGA. Stomatal density and size were evaluated by epidermal impressions. The CTV isolates were also evaluated and molecularly characterized by RT-PCR and Sanger sequencing. 'Campbell' orange and 'Persian' lime plants remained asymptomatic after the inoculations. The inoculation treatments with both CTV isolates did not reduce photosynthetic capacity, transpiration rate, and stomatal conductance, in comparison with the control. Stomatal density and size varied according to the citrus species. T30 and T3 do not affect the photosynthetic responses of 'Campbell' orange and 'Persian' lime; therefore, these isolates have the potential to provide cross-protection to citrus varieties against severe isolates of CTV.

Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a resposta fotossintética de variedades de citros submetidas à inoculação dos isolados T30 e T3 de Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) caracterizados como tendo potencial para conferir proteção cruzada a citros contra isolados severos de CTV. Plantas de citros de laranja 'Campbell', limão 'Tahiti' e limão 'Galego' foram submetidas à inoculação de ambos os isolados por “patch”. Plantas não inoculadas foram utilizadas como controle. A expressão dos sintomas, as taxas fotossintética e de transpiração, e a condutância estomática foram avaliadas por IRGA. A densidade e o tamanho estomáticos foram avaliados por impressões epidérmicas. Os isolados de CTV também foram avaliados e caracterizados molecularmente por RT-PCR e sequenciamento de Sanger. As plantas de laranja 'Campbell' e limão 'Tahiti' permaneceram assintomáticas após as inoculações. Os tratamentos de inoculação com ambos os isolados de CTV não reduziram capacidade fotossintética, taxas de transpiração e condutância estomática, em comparação ao controle. A densidade e o tamanho estomáticos variaram de acordo com a espécie. T30 e T3 não afetam as respostas fotossintéticas de laranja 'Campbell' e limão 'Tahiti'; portanto, estes isolados têm potencial para promover proteção cruzada a variedades de citros contra isolados severos de CTV.

Abstract: In the subsequent study a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis technique to simulate a plasma actuator over an airfoil Re = O ( 20 5 ) is presented. The technique uses a two-dimensional Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes Method coupled to the Kloker plasma-fluid model to study the effects of a Single Dielectric-Barrier Discharge (SDBD) as a Plasma Actuator. The CFD technique have been implemented in OpenFOAM platform for two setups, when: i) the actuator was located at x/c = 0.03 and ii) x/c = 0.1 of the chord length of the airfoil. The magnitude of the body force is equivalent to the results obtained by Hofkens and the actuator operates for both cases in the continuous and in the burst mode. To perform the numerical technique for a stable solution in OpenFOAM, various numerical procedures were tested, including a mixed solver between PISO and SIMPLE algorithm better known as pimpleFoam with nCorrector. The cases were solved in parallel on distributed processors using OpenMPI implementation and the accuracy of the results are strongly depends on the choice of grid size, y-plus, wall function and discretization scheme. The results indicate a high potential, suitability and great capabilities of this numerical technique implemented in OpenFOAM platform for free instability flow simulation.

Resumen Objetivo: Valuar el nivel de sustentabilidad, con base en las percepciones turísticas de las partes interesadas del Parque Nacional Bahía de Loreto (PNLB) en México. Metodología: Se seleccionaron indicadores y se organizaron en tres componentes: (1) gestión de destinos; (2) impacto social, económico y cultural; (3) impacto ambiental; y dos dimensiones: social y ambiental. Se aplicaron encuestas a empresas turísticas, residentes y visitantes. Se utilizaron tablas de contingencia para identificar la dependencia significativa entre indicadores. Resultados: Un nivel de sustentabilidad aceptable. Los indicadores con menor valor fueron el conocimiento de los residentes sobre las AP, el beneficio que obtienen del turismo, así como su participación en actividades ambientales. Limitaciones: Algunos de los indicadores empleados son específicos para el PNBL, por lo que deben adecuarse a cada AP. Conclusiones: Las aportaciones del método y una serie de recomendaciones para incrementar el beneficio económico de los residentes y su participación en la gestión de las AP.

Abstract Objective: To assess the level of sustainability, based on stakeholders’ tourism perceptions of Loreto Bay National Park (LBNP) in Mexico. Methodology: Indicators were selected and organized in three components: (1) destination management; (2) social, economic, and cultural impact; (3) environmental impact; and two dimensions: social and environmental. Surveys were applied to tourist companies, residents, and visitors. Contingency tables were used to identify significant dependence between indicators. Results: The results showed an acceptable sustainability level. Indicators with lower value were residents’ knowledge about PA, the benefit they obtain from tourism, as well as their participation in environmental activities. Limitations: Some of the indicators used are specific to LBNP, therefore they should be adequate for each PA. Conclusions: The study concludes with the contributions of the method and a series of recommendations to increases residents’ economic benefit and their involvement in PA management.

ABSTRACT Azotobacter vinelandii is a Gram negative that undergo a morphological and physiological differentiation process to form cysts resistant to desiccation. The main components of a cyst are alkylresorcinols (ARs), phenolic lipids of 21 to 23 C. These lipids are homologous to plant ARs, where they have been reported to have antifungal properties. The objective of this study was to evaluate the antifungal capacities of vegetative cells and cysts of A. vinelandii AEIV. The cysts were visualized by optical microscope and the detection of ARs was performed by thin layer chromatography. Antagonism bioassay were carried out between vegetative cells and cysts against Fusarium brachygibbosum, Aspergillus niger and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. We confirmed the induction of cysts and the presence of ARs of A. vinelandii AEIV. We observed that using 1×103 cysts reduced up to 76.3% (p < 0.05) the growth of the three phytopathogenic fungi and this result was not observed when using vegetative cells or the strain blocked in the synthesis of ARs. This shows that the cysts exert an antagonistic effect on phytopathogenic fungi and do so through the ARs, considering the development of an effective strategy to control pests in fungi that affect postharvest fruits.

Resumen La diversidad de aves en el Ecuador constituye el factor clave para desarrollar el aviturismo, modalidad que involucra el desplazamiento, observación, identificación y registro de las especies que habitan en su entorno natural. Además, contribuye con la conservación de hábitats, de paisajes y fomento de la economía local a través de la prestación de servicios turísticos. En el estudio se registraron aves durante dos años (febrero 2019 - diciembre 2020) en el sector Quijos Huayco, en la parroquia Cuyuja, cantón Quijos, provincia de Napo, con el fin de determinar las oportunidades para fomentar el aviturismo en la zona. Es una investigación de tipo descriptivo y análisis documental, que contempla un inventario de especies de aves, su estado de conservación y abundancia, así como la identificación de servicios, actividades turísticas y sitios de visita. El análisis se fundamentó en la revisión de información disponible de investigaciones previas y registros de avistamientos, información que cubrió 28 listas, con un total de 141 especies, 1.169 individuos, de 15 órdenes y de 36 familias. Asimismo, se identificaron establecimientos de servicios y lugares potenciales de observación. Cuyuja se encuentra en un sitio especial de conexión con Papallacta, Baeza y Cosanga, donde han sido identificados importantes sitios de observación de aves y se desarrollan eventos, como el conteo navideño de aves. Estas características resultan favorables para promover rutas de avistamiento en la zona norte de la provincia de Napo.

Abstract The diversity of birds in Ecuador is a key factor for the development of avitourism, a modality that involves the displacement, observation, identification and recording of the species that occupy their natural environment. In addition, it contributes to the conservation of habitats, landscapes and the promotion of the local economy through the provision of tourist services. In the study, birds were recorded for two years (February 2019 - December 2020) in the Quijos Huayco sector, in the Cuyuja parish, Quijos canton, Napo province to determine the opportunities to promote birdwathching activities in the area. It is a descriptive research and documentary analysis, which includes an inventory of bird species, their state of conservation and abundance, as well as the identification of services, tourist events and visitor sites. The analysis was based on the review of data available from previous investigations and sighting records, information that covered 28 lists, with a total of 141 species, 1169 individuals, from 15 orders and 36 families. Likewise, service establishments and potential observation sites were identified. Cuyuja, is in a special connection site with Papallacta, Baeza and Cosanga, where important birdwatching sites have been identified, and events such as the Christmas bird count take place. These characteristics are favorable to promote spotting routes in the northern area of Napo province.

Abstract The objective of this study was to produce organic fodder based on corn and Yorimón bean as an alternative to conventional fodders in the Lagunera Region. The experiment was conducted in the spring-summer cycle from April to August 2017. In each useful plot, three corn plants and three Yorimón bean plants were harvested, which were finely chopped and mixed to form a balanced compound of which one kilogram was used for bromatological analyses. A randomized block design with four repetitions was used. In the CP of organic and inorganic fodders, no significant differences were observed (p> 0.05) and the values found were within the optimal values for cows in production. CP correlated positively with TDN and NEL (p< 0.01). The quality of the fodder combined between corn and Yorimón bean showed that it is an alternative to conventional fodders.

Resumen El objetivo de este estudio fue producir forraje orgánico a base de maíz y frijol Yorimón como alternativa a los forrajes convencionales en la Región Lagunera. El experimento se realizó en el ciclo de primavera-verano de abril a agosto de 2017. En cada parcela útil se cosecharon tres plantas de maíz y tres de frijol, las cuales fueron finamente picadas y mezcladas para formar un compuesto balanceado del cual se utilizó un kilo para los análisis bromatológicos. Se utilizó un diseño de bloques al azar con cuatro repeticiones. En PC de los forrajes orgánicos e inorgánicos, no se observaron diferencias significativas (p> 0.05) y los valores encontrados estuvieron dentro de los valores óptimos para vacas en producción. PC correlacionó positivamente con la TND y ENL (p< 0.01). La calidad del forraje combinado entre maíz y frijol Yorimón mostró que es una alternativa a los forrajes convencionales.
