Abstract Analytical and computational calibrations and subsequent parametric analyses were performed on the four UHPFRC beams under flexure to estimate their actual shear strength. The computational models were calibrated using different values for the CDP parameters, and a finite element mesh sensitivity study was conducted. These models predicted the experimental behavior satisfactorily, and the analytical model was also able to find the beams’ failure loads and proved to be a simple tool to estimate their behavior. The parametric analysis showed that the current beams did not require stirrups once the UHPFRC had high shear strength, and the maximum shear capacity was accurately determined.

ABSTRACT: Fertigation is widely used in seedling production for different crops, including passion fruit. There is no consensus on the ideal nutrient solution, and as such, nurseries have used fertigation empirically. This study assessed the electrical conductivity of nutrient solution containing macro and micronutrients in passion fruit seedling production and compared it with commercially used fertigation. A completely randomized design was used, with five treatments and six repetitions. Four electrical conductivities (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 dS m-1) of a complete nutrient solution and an additional treatment (commercial nutrient solution) were analyzed. Daily fertigation with a complete nutrient solution (macro and micronutrients) at electrical conductivities between 2.6 and 3.3 dS m-1 followed by two daily irrigations are efficient at producing FB 300 “Araguari” passion fruit seedlings in coconut fiber substrate, with benefits such as greater biomass and better Dickson quality index when compared to commercial nutrient solution.

RESUMO: A fertirrigação é amplamente utilizada na produção de mudas de várias culturas, inclusive o maracujazeiro. Não existe consenso sobre qual solução nutritiva deve ser adotada na produção de mudas de maracujazeiro, mas por causa disso, viveiristas têm usado a fertirrigação empiricamente. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar condutividades elétricas de solução nutritiva com macros e micronutrientes na produção de mudas de maracujazeiro e compará-las com uma fertirrigação adotada comercialmente. Foi utilizado delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, com cinco tratamentos e seis repetições. Foram estudadas quatro condutividades elétricas (0,5; 1,0; 2,0 e 4,0 dS m-1) de solução nutritiva completa e um tratamento adicional (solução nutritiva adotada comercialmente). Em substrato à base de fibra de coco, fertirrigações diárias com solução nutritiva completa (macro e micronutrientes), com condutividades elétricas entre 2,6 a 3,3 dS m-1, seguidas de duas irrigações diárias são eficientes na produção de mudas de maracujazeiro FB 300 “Araguari”, inclusive com vantagens, como maior biomassa e índice de qualidade de Dickson em relação à solução nutritiva comercial.

Abstract Food processing allows a wide variation in the final quality of the product, which directly depends on the quality of the raw material used, the processing conditions, storage and commercialization. Salting, for example, is one of the oldest methods used to preserve meat. In the meat industry, the incorporation of salts into products is commonly used to improve dietary functionality and ensure food safety. Thus, the objective of this review was to understand that the discarded matrix meat can be used to make jerky meat, adding value to the final product. The processing of jerked beef is based on the osmotic dehydration process in counter flow, promoted by the penetration of salt with consequent exit of water from the inter and extra fibrillar compartments to the surface, with subsequent drying. At the same time, myosin denaturation occurs as a result of high temperatures, as well as myoglobin oxidation, promoted by salt, increasing the susceptibility to protein oxidation. The use of discarded animal meat to make jerky adds value to the by-product, improving sensory quality.

Abstract Central blood pressure (cBP) is considered an independent predictor of organ damage, cardiovascular events and all-cause mortality. Evidence has shown that high intensity interval training (HIIT) is superior to moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) for improving cardiorespiratory fitness and vascular function. However, the effects of these aerobic training modalities on cBP have not yet been properly reviewed.This meta-analysis aims to investigate to effects of HIIT versus MICT on cBP.We conducted a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials that compared HIIT versus MICT on cBP. Primary outcomes were measures of central systolic blood pressure (cSBP) and central diastolic blood pressure (cDBP). Peripheral systolic blood pressure (pSBP) and diastolic blood pressure (pDBP), pulse wave velocity (PWV) and maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) were analyzed as second outcomes. Meta-analysis of mean differences (MD) was conducted using the random effects model.Our study included 163 patients enrolled in six trials. We found that HIIT was superior to MICT in reducing the cSBP (MD = -3.12 mmHg, 95% CI: -4.75 to -1.50, p = 0.0002) and SBP (MD = -2.67 mmHg, 95% CI: -5.18 to -0.16, p = 0.04), and increasing VO2max(MD = 2.49 mL/kg/min, 95% CI: 1.25 to 3.73, p = 0.001). However, no significant differences were reported for cDBP, DBP and PWV.HIIT was superior to MICT in reducing the cSBP, which suggests its potential role as a non-pharmacological therapy for high blood pressure.

Resumo A pressão arterial central (PAc) é considerada um preditor independente de lesão de órgão, eventos cardiovasculares e mortalidade por todas as causas. Evidências mostram que o treino intervalado de alta intensidade (HIIT) é superior ao treino contínuo de intensidade moderada (MICT) na melhoria da aptidão cardiorrespiratória e da função vascular. No entanto, os efeitos dessas modalidades de treino aeróbico sobre a PAc não foram propriamente revisados. Esta metanálise tem como objetivo investigar os efeitos do HIIT versus MICT sobre a PAc.Conduzimos uma metanálise de ensaios controlados randomizados que compararam HIIT versus MICT sobre a PAc. Os desfechos primários foram Pressão Arterial Sistólica (PAS) central (PASc) e Pressão Arterial Diastólica central (PADc). A PAS periférica (PASp), a PAD periférica (PADp), a Velocidade de Onda de Pulso (VOP) e a captação máxima de oxigênio (VO2max) foram analisadas como desfechos secundários. A metanálise das diferenças médias (DM) foi conduzida usando modelos de efeitos aleatórios.Nosso estudo incluiu 163 pacientes recrutados em seis ensaios. Encontramos que HIIT foi superior ao MICT em reduzir PASc (DM = -3,12 mmHg, IC95% -4,75 – 1,50, p = 0,0002) e PAS (DM = -2,67 mmHg, IC95% -5,18 – -0,16, p = 0,04) e aumentar VO2max (DM = 2,49 mL/Kg/min, IC95% 1,25 – 3,73, p = 0,001). No entanto, não foram relatadas diferenças quanto à PADc, PAD ou VOP. O HIIT foi superior ao MICT em reduzir PASc, sugerindo seu potencial papel como uma terapia não farmacológica para a pressão arterial elevada.

Abstract Water supply services are basic infrastructures to meet the population's water consumption needs. Since the late 1970s, in some developed countries, water supply services have been privatized in an attempt to improve their performance. In this context, the state of Mato Grosso has a unique characteristic in Brazil, as it has a completely municipalized sanitation service. This research aims to analyze the performance, through indicators, of water supply systems in 120 cities in the state of Mato Grosso. The data were extracted from the Municipal Basic Sanitation Plan 106 (PMSB 106) platform, from municipalities with a population of less than 50,000 inhabitants, with reference to the years 2015 to 2017. For this, 26 indicators were selected, followed by the application of the T-test, the ordinary least squares method, and propensity score matching. With the statistical analysis of mean comparison (T-test), it was observed that private service provision outperforms public service, but it should be noted that a simple comparison of means between the public and private systems is not sufficient to infer that one system is more efficient than the other. When applying multivariate analysis (ordinary least squares method and propensity score matching), calculations showed that there were no significant differences between the provision of service by the private or public provider regarding coverage indicators, losses, default rate, and intermittency, according to the selected variables. It is also noteworthy that the discussion on the efficiency of the water supply system must take into consideration the problems arising from political and contractual issues and the absence of competent regulatory entities.

Resumo Os serviços de abastecimento de água são infraestruturas básicas para atender as necessidades de consumo de água da população. Desde o final da década de 1970, em alguns países desenvolvidos, os serviços de abastecimento de água foram privatizados na tentativa de melhorar seu desempenho. Nesse contexto, o estado de Mato Grosso possui uma característica única no Brasil, possui um serviço de saneamento totalmente municipalizado. Essa pesquisa busca analisar o desempenho, por meio de indicadores, dos sistemas de abastecimento de água em 120 cidades do estado de Mato Grosso. Os dados foram extraídos da plataforma do Plano Municipal de Saneamento Básico 106 (PMSB 106), de municípios com população inferior a 50.000 habitantes, com referência aos anos de 2015 a 2017. Para isso, realizou-se a seleção de 26 indicadores, seguindo com a aplicação do teste T, do método dos mínimos quadrados ordinários e do propensity score matching. Com a análise estatística de comparação média (Teste T) observou-se que a prestação de serviço do privado se sobressai em relação ao público, porém, ressalta-se que, uma comparação simples de média entre o sistema público e privado não é suficiente para inferir que um sistema é mais eficiente do que o outro. Ao aplicar a análise multivariada (método de Mínimos Quadrados Ordinários e o Propensity Score Matching), os cálculos mostraram que não há diferenças significativas entre a prestação realizada pelo prestador privado ou público, no que se refere aos indicadores de cobertura, perdas, taxa de inadimplência e intermitência segundo as variáveis selecionadas. Destaca-se ainda que, a discussão sobre eficiência do sistema de abastecimento deve levar em consideração as problemáticas decorrentes de questões políticas, contratuais e a inexistência de entes reguladores competentes.

Abstract Background Data on post-acute COVID-19 in autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARD) are scarce, focusing on a single disease, with variable definitions of this condition and time of vaccination. The aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency and pattern of post-acute COVID-19 in vaccinated patients with ARD using established diagnosis criteria. Methods Retrospective evaluation of a prospective cohort of 108 ARD patients and 32 non-ARD controls, diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection (RT-PCR/antigen test) after the third dose of the CoronaVac vaccine. Post-acute COVID-19 (≥ 4 weeks and > 12 weeks of SARS-CoV-2 symptoms) were registered according to the established international criteria. Results ARD patients and non-ARD controls, balanced for age and sex, had high and comparable frequencies of ≥ 4 weeks post-acute COVID-19 (58.3% vs. 53.1%, p = 0.6854) and > 12 weeks post-acute COVID-19 (39.8% vs. 46.9%, p = 0.5419). Regarding ≥ 4 weeks post-acute COVID-19, frequencies of ≥ 3 symptoms were similar in ARD and non-ARD controls (54% vs. 41.2%, p = 0.7886), and this was also similar in > 12 weeks post-acute COVID-19 (68.3% vs. 88.2%, p = 0.1322). Further analysis of the risk factors for ≥ 4 weeks post-acute COVID-19 in ARD patients revealed that age, sex, clinical severity of COVID-19, reinfection, and autoimmune diseases were not associated with this condition (p > 0.05). The clinical manifestations of post-acute COVID-19 were similar in both groups (p > 0.05), with fatigue and memory loss being the most frequent manifestations. Conclusion We provide novel data demonstrating that immune/inflammatory ARD disturbances after third dose vaccination do not seem to be a major determinant of post-acute COVID-19 since its pattern is very similar to that of the general population. Resumo As lesões traumáticas da aorta (LTA) torácica estão associadas a altas taxas de morbimortalidade. São classificadas de acordo com a extensão do dano, e a angiotomografia computadorizada tem as maiores sensibilidade e especificidade para identificar o grau de lesão e potenciais lesões associadas. As estratégias terapêuticas para LTA são baseadas no tipo de lesão, na extensão e nas lesões associadas. Pode auxiliar na definição de conduta também o grau de estabilidade do paciente, podendo ser manejo cirúrgico convencional, endovascular (TEVAR) ou conservador em casos selecionados. Entre os pacientes com anatomia vascular adequada, a cirurgia endovascular está associada a melhor sobrevida e a menos riscos. O objetivo deste artigo foi descrever uma série de quatro casos acompanhados em serviço terciário, em um estado com poucos serviços de alta complexidade. Abstract Traumatic thoracic aortic injuries (TTAI) are associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality. They are classified according to the extent of damage and computed tomography angiography has the highest sensitivity and specificity for identifying the degree of injury and potential associated lesions. Treatment strategies for TTAI are based on the type and extent of injury and associated lesions. The patient’s degree of stability can also help to define the choice of treatment, which can be conventional or endovascular surgery (EVAR) or even conservative management in selected cases. Among patients with adequate vascular anatomy, endovascular surgery is associated with better survival and fewer risks. The objective of this article is to describe a series of four cases followed up at a tertiary service in a Brazilian state that has few centers that provide high complexity care. Endovascular therapy was employed as the preferred method. All four patients had favorable outcomes, with no complications up to discharge, and are currently in outpatient follow-up. Resumo Introdução A inserção dos profissionais de educação física na atenção básica tem relevância devido aos trabalhos relacionados à promoção da saúde, porém alguns desafios são apresentados na literatura como barreiras para a atuação profissional. Objetivo Revisar na literatura os desafios encontrados por profissionais de educação física que atuam nos Núcleos Ampliados de Saúde da Família e Atenção Básica (NASF-AB). Método Uma busca utilizando os termos “educação física” e “Núcleo de Apoio à Saúde da Família” foi realizada na base de dados LILACS e no portal SciELO. Os critérios de inclusão foram: ser artigo original, estar publicado no idioma português, ter sido publicado a partir do ano de 2008 e ter avaliado a atuação de profissionais de educação física no NASF-AB. Resultados Dos 45 estudos encontrados na busca inicial, seis atenderam os critérios de inclusão. Além desses, outros dois artigos foram identificados nas referências, resultando em oito artigos incluídos na revisão. Entre os vários desafios relatados, os mais frequentes encontrados nos estudos foram a falta de infraestrutura física e material, a distância entre a formação acadêmica e a área de saúde coletiva e a instabilidade profissional. Conclusão Embora alguns desafios relatados não dependam apenas do profissional de educação física para serem resolvidos, os achados dessa revisão fornecem importantes informações para que futuros profissionais que desejam atuar no NASF-AB possam se preparar de forma mais objetiva e consigam realizar um trabalho com eficiência e qualidade.

Abstract Background The inclusion of physical education professionals in primary care is relevant due to work related to health promotion, but some challenges are presented in the literature as barriers to professional performance. Objective This study aimed to review in the literature the challenges faced by physical education professionals who work in the extended centers for family health and primary care (NASF-AB). Method A search using the terms “physical education” and “family health support centers” was performed in the LILACS and SciELO databases. The inclusion criteria were: be an original article, be published in the Portuguese language, be published from 2008 onwards, and have assessed the role of physical education professionals in the NASF-AB. Results From 45 studies identified in the initial search, six met the inclusion criteria. In addition to these, two other articles were identified in the references, resulting in eight articles included in the review. Among the several challenges reported, the most frequent ones in the different studies were the lack of physical and material infrastructure, the distance between academic formation and the collective health area, and also professional instability. Conclusion Although some of the challenges reported do not depend solely on the physical education professional to be solved, the findings of this review already provide important information for future professionals who wish to work in NASF-AB to prepare themselves more objectively and perform an efficient and quality work.

RESUMO Dança e racismo: apontamentos críticos sobre o ensino de história da dança1 - Este artigo elabora algumas breves considerações sobre o ensino de história da dança nas universidades. O objetivo é discutir o racismo institucionalizado nos ambientes de ensino superior em dança por meio de apontamentos críticos sobre os conteúdos, de natureza hegemônica e colonial, aplicados aos processos de ensino-aprendizagem da história da dança. Além disso, pretende-se chamar a atenção para a urgência da constituição de uma outra dimensão de produção de conhecimento, desejando garantir ampla visibilidade para histórias marginais e periféricas no contexto da educação em dança.

ABSTRACT This article elaborates some brief considerations on the teachings of dance history in universities. The goal is to discuss institutionalized racism in higher education dance environments through critical notes on the contents of a hegemonic and colonial nature applied to the teaching-learning of dance history. In addition, it aims to draw attention to the urgency of creating another dimension of knowledge production, in order to ensure that broad visibility is given to marginal and peripheral histories in the context of dance education.

RÉSUMÉ Cet article élabore quelques brèves considérations sur l'enseignement de l'histoire de la danse dans les universités. L’objectif est de discuter le racisme institutionnalisé dans les milieux de l'enseignement supérieur en danse en formulant des remarques critiques au sujet des processus d'enseignement-apprentissage de l'histoire de la danse, qui font apparaître l’origine hégémonique et coloniale des contenus enseignés. Il s’agit en outre d’attirer l'attention sur l'urgence de créer une autre dimension de production de connaissances dans le but d’assurer une large visibilité aux histoires marginales et périphériques dans le cadre de l'enseignement de la danse.

SUMMARY: Azygos lobe is one of the most common pulmonary variations. Although numerous studies discuss to the clinical and surgical implications of anatomical variations, there are few investigations about this topic. The aim of this study was to discuss the anatomy of the pulmonary azygos lobe and its possible clinical and surgical correlations. In this systematic review, a total of 48 results were found between 1968 and 2020. After application of eligibility criteria, 16 articles were included to analysis. Our results showed there were no reports of surgery complications in azygos lobe presence. In all articles that described the anatomical variation, the pulmonary azygos lobe received tertiary segmental branches. Among the surgical implications in the presence of the azygos lobe, complications are of low complexity. It is necessary to teach about this anatomical variation in medical schools in cadavers. Emphasizing the obvious morphological modifications in the superior mediastinum.

RESUMEN: El lóbulo ácigos es una de las variaciones pulmonares más comunes. Aunque numerosos estudios discuten las implicaciones clínicas y quirúrgicas de las variaciones anatómicas, existen pocas investigaciones sobre este tema. El objetivo de este estudio fue discutir la anatomía del lóbulo ácigos pulmonar y sus posibles correlaciones clínicas y quirúrgicas. En esta revisión sistemática se encontraron un total de 48 resultados entre los años 1968 y 2020. Después de la aplicación de los criterios de elegibilidad, 16 artículos fueron incluidos para análisis. Nuestros resultados mostraron que no hubo informes de complicaciones quirúrgicas en presencia del lóbulo ácigos. En todos los artículos que describieron la variación anatómica, el lóbulo ácigos pulmonar recibió ramas segmentarias terciarias. Dentro de las implicaciones quirúrgicas en presencia del lóbulo ácigos, las complicaciones son de baja complejidad. En las escuelas de medicina es necesaria la enseñanza en cadáveres de esta variación anatómica, destacando las evidentes modificaciones morfológicas en el mediastino superior.

ABSTRACT Pterodon (Fabaceae) species known as “sucupira-branca” are traditionally used in Brazilian medicine. This South American monophyletic genus has species delimitation problems. To separate the recognized Pterodon species we described the wood anatomy of P. abruptus, P. emarginatus, P. pubescens, hybrid (between P. emarginatus and P. pubescens) and P. apparicioi, the latter two for the first time. Wood anatomical studies were undertaken, and qualitative and quantitative features statistically tested. Qualitatively the species are very similar, but in most quantitative features, differences were observed, especially axial parenchyma quantity and type. Pterodon abruptus was easily separated by high density narrow vessels allied to a low area of axial parenchyma but with confluent almost forming bands. Hybrid was more similar to P. emarginatus and had a significantly greater axial parenchyma area than other Pterodon species. PCA analysis separates only P. abruptus. Cluster analysis using qualitative and quantitative data were able to separate P. abruptus and P. apparicioi from the other species. Vessels, ray and axial parenchyma features enable to clarify the distinction in identification key.

ABSTRACT Objective: To describe the characteristics of reported cases of child labor in general and to compare official reported child labor data with data on sexual exploitation and occupational accidents involving children and adolescents between 2017 and 2021. Methods: Descriptive study based on data from the Notifiable Health Conditions Information System about child labor, work accidents and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents aged between 5 and 17 years. Annual disease notification rates were calculated and grouped by mesoregions of the state of Amazonas. Results: From 2017 to 2021, there were 312 reports of situations of child labor, being 46.8% involving children and 53.2% involving adolescents. Of these notifications, 20 corresponded to child labor itself, 141 to child and adolescent sexual exploitation, and 151 to work-related accidents involving children and adolescents. The South and Center regions were the ones that most underreported child sexual exploitation as child labor. The Southwest and South mesoregions, on the other hand, were the ones that most underreported work accidents involving children and adolescents as child labor. Conclusion: Child labor in Amazonas basically stems from sexual exploitation and, even though it is underreported, it is frequent, although uneven between regions. Confronting the problem in the state necessarily involves improving the information system in order to acknowledge the actual dimension of the problem and then define intervention measures and logistics.

RESUMO Objetivo: Descrever as características dos casos notificados de trabalho infantil em geral e comparar dados oficiais notificados de trabalho infantil com dados de exploração sexual e acidentes de trabalho envolvendo crianças e adolescentes entre 2017 e 2021. Métodos: Estudo descritivo com base nos dados do Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação sobre trabalho infantil, acidente de trabalho e exploração sexual de crianças e adolescentes com idades entre 5 e 17 anos. Foram calculadas taxas de notificação anuais dos agravos e agregadas por mesorregião do estado do Amazonas. Resultados: No período de 2017 a 2021, houve 312 notificações de situações envolvendo trabalho infantil, sendo 46,8% com crianças e 53,2% com adolescentes. Dessas notificações, 20 correspondiam ao trabalho infantil propriamente dito, 141 de exploração sexual infantojuvenil e 151 casos de acidente de trabalho envolvendo crianças e adolescentes. As mesorregiões sul e centro foram as que mais subnotificaram exploração sexual infantojuvenil como trabalho infantil. Já as mesorregiões sudoeste e sul foram as que mais sub-registraram acidentes de trabalho envolvendo crianças e adolescentes como trabalho infantil. Conclusão: O trabalho infantil no Amazonas decorre basicamente de exploração sexual e, mesmo subnotificado, é de ocorrência frequente, porém desigual entre as regiões. O enfrentamento do agravo no estado passa, obrigatoriamente, pelo aperfeiçoamento do sistema de informação a fim conhecer a real dimensão do problema para, então, definir medidas e logística de intervenção.

Of these notifications, 20 corresponded to child labor itself, 141 to child and adolescent sexual exploitation, and 151 to work-related accidents involving children and adolescents. The South and Center regions were the ones that most underreported child sexual exploitation as child labor. The Southwest and South mesoregions, on the other hand, were the ones that most underreported work accidents involving children and adolescents as child labor. Conclusion: Child labor in Amazonas basically stems from sexual exploitation and, even though it is underreported, it is frequent, although uneven between regions. Confronting the problem in the state necessarily involves improving the information system in order to acknowledge the actual dimension of the problem and then define intervention measures and logistics.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE Summarize the literature on the relationship between composite socioeconomic indicators and mortality in different geographical areas of Brazil. METHODS This scoping review included articles published between January 1, 2000, and August 31, 2020, retrieved by means of a bibliographic search carried out in the Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, and Lilacs databases. Studies reporting on the association between composite socioeconomic indicators and all-cause, or specific cause of death in any age group in different geographical areas were selected. The review summarized the measures constructed, their associations with the outcomes, and potential study limitations. RESULTS Of the 77 full texts that met the inclusion criteria, the study reviewed 24. The area level of composite socioeconomic indicators analyzed comprised municipalities (n = 6), districts (n = 5), census tracts (n = 4), state (n = 2), country (n = 2), and other areas (n = 5). Six studies used composite socioeconomic indicators such as the Human Development Index, Gross Domestic Product, and the Gini Index; the remaining 18 papers created their own socioeconomic measures based on sociodemographic and health indicators. Socioeconomic status was inversely associated with higher rates of all-cause mortality, external cause mortality, suicide, homicide, fetal and infant mortality, respiratory and circulatory diseases, stroke, infectious and parasitic diseases, malnutrition, gastroenteritis, and oropharyngeal cancer. Higher mortality rates due to colorectal cancer, leukemia, a general group of neoplasms, traffic accident, and suicide, in turn, were observed in less deprived areas and/or those with more significant socioeconomic development. Underreporting of death and differences in mortality coverage in Brazilian areas were cited as the main limitation. CONCLUSIONS Studies analyzed mortality inequalities in different geographical areas by means of composite socioeconomic indicators, showing that the association directions vary according to the mortality outcome. But studies on all-cause mortality and at the census tract level remain scarce. The results may guide the development of new composite socioeconomic indicators for use in mortality inequality analysis.
