ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Considering the ability of the health and self-management in diabetes questionnaire (HASMID-10) to verify the impact of self-management on diabetes, we highlight its relevance to scientific research and clinical applicability. However, to date, no study has been conducted to scientifically support its use in other languages. OBJECTIVE: To translate, cross-culturally adapt, and validate the HASMID-10 into the Brazilian Portuguese. DESIGN AND SETTING: A translation, cross-cultural adaptation, and validation study conducted at Ceuma University. METHODS: Study was conducted in accordance with the Guidelines for the Process of Cross-Cultural Adaptation of Self-Report Measures and Consensus-based Standards for the Selection of Health Measurement Instruments. We included participants of both sexes diagnosed with diabetes, aged between 18 and 64 years, and without cognitive deficits or any other limitations that would prevent them from answering the questionnaire. We assessed participants using the problem areas in diabetes (PAID) scale and HASMID-10. We assessed reliability using a test-retest model with a 7-day interval between assessments. We used intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), 95% confidence interval (CI), standard error of measurement (SEM), minimum detectable difference (MDD), Spearman correlation coefficient, and floor and ceiling effects. RESULTS: Sample comprised 116 participants, most of whom were women, overweight, non-practitioners of physical activity, and nonsmokers. We observed significant correlations (P = 0.006; rho = −0.256) between the HASMID-10 and PAID, adequate reliability (ICC = 0.780) and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.796). No ceiling or floor effects were observed. CONCLUSION: HASMID-10 has adequate measurement properties and may be used for Brazilians.

Objective: to investigate factors associated with the SARS-CoV-2 infection among health professionals from university hospitals. Method: a multicenter, mixed approach study with concomitant incorporated strategy, carried out with 559 professionals in the quantitative stage, and 599 in the qualitative stage. Four data collection instruments were used, applied by means of an electronic form. The quantitative analysis was performed with descriptive and inferential statistics and the qualitative data were processed by means of content analysis. Results: the factors associated with the infection were as follows: performance of the RT-PCR test (p<0.001) and units offering care to COVID-19 patients (p=0.028). Having symptoms increased 5.63 times the prevalence of infection and adhering to social distancing most of the time in private life reduced it by 53.9%. The qualitative data evidenced difficulties faced by the professionals: scarcity and low quality of Personal Protective Equipment, work overload, physical distancing at work, inadequate processes and routines and lack of a mass screening and testing policy. Conclusion: the factors associated with the SARS-CoV-2 infection among health professionals were mostly related to occupational issues.

Objetivo: investigar los factores asociados a la infección por SARSCoV-2 en los profesionales de la salud de hospitales universitarios. Método: estudio multicéntrico, con abordaje mixto con estrategia incorporada concomitante, realizado con 559 profesionales en la etapa cuantitativa, y 599 en la etapa cualitativa. Fueron utilizados cuatro instrumentos de recolección de datos, aplicados a través un formulario electrónico. El análisis cuantitativo se realizó mediante estadística descriptiva e inferencial y los datos cualitativos mediante análisis de contenido Resultados: los factores asociados a la infección fueron: realización de la prueba “RT-PCR” (p<0,001) y unidades que atienden a pacientes con COVID-19 (p=0,028). Tener síntomas aumentó la prevalencia de infección 5,63 veces y cumplir la mayor parte del tiempo con el distanciamiento social en la vida privada la redujo un 53,9%. Los datos cualitativos mostraron las dificultades que enfrentaron los profesionales: escasez y baja calidad de equipos de protección personal, sobrecarga de trabajo, distanciamiento físico en el trabajo, procesos y rutinas inadecuados y la ausencia de una política de triage y testeo masivos. Conclusión: los factores asociados a la infección por SARS-CoV-2 en los profesionales de la salud se relacionaron mayormente con cuestiones laborales.

Dados qualitativos evidenciaram dificuldades enfrentadas pelos profissionais: escassez e baixa qualidade de equipamentos de proteção individual, sobrecarga de trabalho, distanciamento físico no trabalho, processos e rotinas inadequadas e ausência de uma política de triagem e testagem em massa. Conclusão: os fatores associados à infecção por SARS-CoV-2 entre profissionais da saúde foram em sua maioria relacionados a questões ocupacionais.

ABSTRACT Cutaneous leishmaniasis, caused by protozoa of the genus Leishmania, presents diverse clinical manifestations, and current therapeutic options have limitations, including long treatment periods, potential hospitalization, and excessive pain during treatment. Methyl gallate, a phenolic compound found in plants such as Libidibia ferrea, presents promising antileishmanial activity. Combining this compound with existing leishmaniasis medications could lead to reduced dosages and the minimization of side effects. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of a microemulsion containing methyl gallate, either on its own or in combination with Glucantime®, for the experimental treatment of cutaneous leishmaniasis in a 30-day in vivo assay using golden hamsters infected with Leishmania (Leishmania) amazonensis. The control groups included an untreated positive control and an uninfected, untreated negative control. After treatment, we evaluated clinical, parasitological, and biochemical parameters. While none of the treatments achieved clinical or parasitological cure, notable improvements were observed in the combined group, with significant reductions in snout skin lesions and parasite load when compared to the control. Biochemical parameters such as creatinine, CK-MB, GOT, and GPT remained unchanged, but urea and CPK levels significantly increased in all the experimental groups relative to the control. In conclusion, the integration of a topical methyl gallate microemulsion with intralesional Glucantime® showed potential as an effective treatment for cutaneous leishmaniasis. Further investigations into optimal dosages and therapeutic schemes are warranted in order to enhance treatment outcomes.

RESUMO A leishmaniose cutânea, causada por protozoários do gênero Leishmania, apresenta diversas manifestações clínicas e as opções terapêuticas atuais têm limitações, incluindo longos períodos de tratamento, possível hospitalização e dor excessiva durante o tratamento. O galato de metila, um composto fenólico encontrado em plantas como Libidibia ferrea, mostra atividade antileishmania promissora. A combinação deste composto com os medicamentos existentes para leishmaniose pode levar a dosagens reduzidas e à minimização dos efeitos colaterais. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a eficácia de uma microemulsão contendo galato de metila, isoladamente ou em combinação com Glucantime®, no tratamento experimental da leishmaniose cutânea em um ensaio in vivo de 30 dias em hamsters sírios infectados com Leishmania (Leishmania) amazonensis. Os grupos de controle incluíram um controle positivo não tratado e um controle negativo não infectado e não tratado. Após o tratamento, avaliamos parâmetros clínicos, parasitológicos e bioquímicos. Embora nenhum dos tratamentos tenha alcançado cura clínica ou parasitológica, melhorias notáveis foram observadas no grupo combinado, com redução significativa nas lesões cutâneas do focinho e na carga parasitária em comparação com o controle. Parâmetros bioquímicos como creatinina, CK-MB, TGO e TGP permaneceram inalterados, os níveis de ureia e CPK aumentaram significativamente em todos os grupos experimentais em relação ao controle. Em conclusão, a integração da microemulsão tópica de galato de metila com Glucantime® intralesional mostrou potencial como um tratamento eficaz para a leishmaniose cutânea. Mais investigações sobre dosagens ideais e esquemas terapêuticos são necessárias para melhorar os resultados do tratamento.

Abstract Food processing allows a wide variation in the final quality of the product, which directly depends on the quality of the raw material used, the processing conditions, storage and commercialization. Salting, for example, is one of the oldest methods used to preserve meat. In the meat industry, the incorporation of salts into products is commonly used to improve dietary functionality and ensure food safety. Thus, the objective of this review was to understand that the discarded matrix meat can be used to make jerky meat, adding value to the final product. The processing of jerked beef is based on the osmotic dehydration process in counter flow, promoted by the penetration of salt with consequent exit of water from the inter and extra fibrillar compartments to the surface, with subsequent drying. At the same time, myosin denaturation occurs as a result of high temperatures, as well as myoglobin oxidation, promoted by salt, increasing the susceptibility to protein oxidation. The use of discarded animal meat to make jerky adds value to the by-product, improving sensory quality.

RESUMEN Objetivo Analizar la asociación entre discapacidad visual, auditiva, mental/intelectual, física y discapacidad múltiple con condiciones y conductas de riesgo para la salud en Brasil. Métodos Estudio transversal utilizando datos de la Encuesta Nacional de Salud de 2019; se estimaron, mediante regresión logística, las asociaciones entre discapacidad con la presencia de enfermedades cardiovasculares (ECV), hipertensión, diabetes, colesterol alto, consumo de alcohol y tabaquismo, obtención del odds ratio (OR). Resultados De los 90.846 participantes, el 7,6% refirió discapacidad. Tener una discapacidad se asoció con una mayor probabilidad de reportar enfermedades crónicas, especialmente ECV (OR = 2,11; IC95% 1,76;2,54) y diabetes (OR = 1,78; IC95% 1,56;2,02); la discapacidad visual se asoció con una mayor probabilidad de fumar (OR = 1,52; IC95% 1,28;1,81); la discapacidad mental/intelectual mostró una relación inversa con el tabaquismo (OR = 0,45; IC95% 0,30;0,67) y el consumo de alcohol (OR = 0,13; IC95% 0,06;0,26). Conclusión Se observó que tener alguna de las discapacidades estudiadas puede estar asociado con mayores posibilidades de tener condiciones crónicas de salud.

Métodos Estudo transversal, utilizando-se dados da Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde de 2019; associações entre deficiências e presença de doença cardiovascular (DCV), hipertensão arterial, diabetes mellitus (DM), colesterol alto, consumo abusivo de álcool e tabagismo foram estimados por regressão logística, obtendo-se a razão de chances (RC). Resultados Dos 90.846 participantes, 7,6% reportaram deficiência. Ter deficiência associou-se a maiores chances de relatar condições crônicas, especialmente DCV (RC = 2,11; IC95% 1,76;2,54) e DM (RC = 1,78; IC95% 1,56;2,02); deficiência visual associou-se a maior chance de tabagismo (RC = 1,52; IC95% 1,28;1,81); deficiência mental/intelectual apresentou relação inversa com tabagismo (RC = 0,45; IC95% 0,30;0,67) e consumo abusivo de álcool (RC = 0,13; IC95% 0,06;0,26). Conclusão Apresentar alguma das deficiências estudadas pode-se associar a maiores chances de ter condições crônicas de saúde.

Methods This was a cross-sectional study, using data from the 2019 National Health Survey; associations between impairments and presence of cardiovascular disease (CVD), hypertension, diabetes mellitus (DM), high cholesterol, alcohol abuse and smoking were estimated using logistic regression, thus obtaining the odds ratios (OR). Results Impairment was reported by 7.6% of the 90,846 participants. Having a impairment was associated with greater odds of reporting chronic conditions, especially CVD (OR = 2.11; 95%CI 1.76;2.54) and DM (OR = 1.78; 95%CI 1.56;2.02 ); visual impairment was associated with greater odds of smoking (OR = 1.52; 95%CI 1.28;1.81); mental/intellectual impairment was inversely related to smoking (OR = 0.45; 95%CI 0.30;0.67) and alcohol abuse (OR = 0.13; 95%CI 0.06;0.26). Abstract Objective: To assess the prevalence and factors associated with smoking in adolescents with cleft lip and/or palate. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study, developed in a Brazilian public and tertiary hospital between November 2018 and August 2019. Adolescents aged between 12 and 19 years old, previously submitted to cheiloplasty and/or palatoplasty surgeries were included. Data collection was carried out through interviews, guided by questionnaires referring to sociodemographic issues, use and factors associated with smoking. For statistical analysis, Fisher’s Exact Test, Chi-square, Student’s t test and bivariate logistic regression were used, all with a significance level of 5% (p≤0.05). Results: 102 adolescents participated. The prevalence of smoking was 20.6% (n=21). Having cleft lip and palate was associated with smoking (p=0.012). The bivariate analysis showed that not dating (p=0.001; OR=0.19) and owning a home (p=0.032; OR=0.33) were configured as protective factors for the act of being a smoker, while believing that smoking facilitates interaction with young people or with the group of friends (p=0.043; OR=2.95), having friends who use alcoholic beverages (p=0.002; OR=8.40), having friends who use drugs, except cigarettes (p=0.002; OR=5.33), use alcoholic beverages (p<0.001; OR=10.67) and sexual initiation (p<0.001; OR=7.00), were associated with being a smoker. Conclusions: From the knowledge of the profile of adolescents most vulnerable to tobacco use, it is possible to plan and implement educational and preventive actions.

RESUMO Objetivo: Avaliar a prevalência e os fatores associados ao tabagismo em adolescentes com fissura de lábio e/ou palato. Métodos: Estudo de corte transversal, desenvolvido em um hospital público e terciário brasileiro entre novembro de 2018 e agosto de 2019. Foram incluídos adolescentes com idade entre 12 e 19 anos, submetidos previamente às cirurgias de queiloplastia e/ou palatoplastia. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevista, guiada por questionários referentes a questões sociodemográficas, uso e fatores associados ao tabagismo. Para a análise estatística, utilizaram-se os testes: exato de Fisher, qui-quadrado, t de Student e regressão logística bivariada, todos com nível de significância de 5% (p ≤ 0,05). Resultados: Participaram 102 adolescentes. A prevalência do tabagismo foi de 20,6% (n=21). Possuir fissura de lábio e palato associou-se ao tabagismo (p=0,012). A análise bivariada mostrou que não namorar (p=0,001; OR=0,19) e possuir habitação própria (p=0,032; OR=0,33) configuraram fatores de proteção para o ato de ser tabagista, enquanto acreditar que fumar facilita a interação com os jovens ou com o grupo de amigos (p=0,043; OR=2,95), ter amigos que usam bebida alcoólica (p=0,002; OR=8,40), ter amigos que usam drogas, exceto o cigarro (p=0,002; OR=5,33), usar bebida alcoólica (p<0,001; OR=10,67) e iniciação sexual (p<0,001; OR=7,00) associaram-se a ser tabagista. Conclusões: Pelo conhecimento do perfil dos adolescentes mais vulneráveis ao uso do tabaco, é possível planejar e programar ações educativas e preventivas.

As an investigative hypothesis, the following question is presented: what representations can be interpreted regarding the Brazilian educational scenario in the rituals and materialities of Conferences and Congresses during the 1920s? The theoretical-methodological approach took references from cultural history, considering the concepts of material culture and representation.

Resumen: Esta es una investigación que, a la luz de la historia cultural, busca comprender cinco hechos que ocurrieron en Brasil en la década de 1920: Conferência Interestadual do Ensino Primário (Brasil, 1922); Congresso de Ensino Primário e Normal (Paraná, 1926); Primeiro Congresso de Instrução Primária (Minas Gerais, 1927a); Primeira Conferência Estadual do Ensino Primário (Santa Catarina, 1927); Primeira Conferência Nacional de Educação (1927), promovida por la Associação Brasileira de Educação. Como hipótesis de investigación se plantea la siguiente pregunta: ¿qué representaciones se pueden interpretar sobre el escenario educativo brasileño en los rituales y materialidades de las Conferencias y congresos durante la década de 1920? El abordaje teórico-metodológico tomó referencias de la historia cultural, considerando los conceptos de cultura material y representación.

Resumo: Trata-se de uma investigação que, à luz da história cultural, busca compreender cinco eventos ocorridos no Brasil nos anos 1920: Conferência Interestadual do Ensino Primário (Brasil, 1922); Congresso de Ensino Primário e Normal (Paraná, 1926); Primeiro Congresso de Instrução Primária (Minas Gerais, 1927a); Primeira Conferência Estadual do Ensino Primário (Santa Catarina, 1927); Primeira Conferência Nacional de Educação (1927), promovida por intermédio da Associação Brasileira de Educação. Como hipótese investigativa, apresenta-se a seguinte questão: que representações são possíveis de serem interpretadas acerca do campo educacional brasileiro nos ritos e nas materialidades das conferências e dos congressos ocorridos nos anos 1920? O percurso teórico-metodológico circundou referenciais da história cultural, considerando os conceitos de cultura material e representação.

ABSTRACT Background: The wood heat treatment results in the partial degradation of its chemical constituents, mainly cellulose and hemicellulose, reducing the hygroscopicity of the material. This process improves the dimensional stability and resistance to biodeterioration and worsens the mechanical resistance. This work aimed to evaluate the effect of heat treatment on the physical, anatomical, chemical, and mechanical properties of Fraxinus excelsior wood. In untreated and heat-treated wood, the pH, buffering capacity, basic density, equilibrium moisture content, shrinkage, wood anatomy, thermogravimetric behavior, and chemistry by conventional and FTIR methods were determined. Results: Heat treated wood had lower pH (5.50), equilibrium moisture content (6.26%), shrinkage (7,29%), holocellulose contents (55,96%) and higher buffering capacity (0,479 mmol/L), extractives (8,25%), and lignin contents (35,78%). Heat treatment reduced the pH and increased the buffering capacity of the wood, reduced the holocellulose content, and increased the lignin content, leaving the wood less hygroscopic and reducing its volumetric and linear variation. The process did not change the basic density and fiber length, but it reduced their width, lumen diameter, and wall thickness. The FTIR analysis confirmed the degradation of holocellulose and division of aliphatic side chains in lignin. The maximum dredging range of untreated and heat-treated wood occurred at 350 ºC, and the heat-treated wood had a higher residual mass when subjected to 500 ºC. Conclusion: Heat-treated wood can be indicated for products used in external environments, such as floors, fences, coatings, door and window structures.

ABSTRACT Objective: Evaluate the satisfaction of outpatient oncology users taking antineoplastic drugs about nursing care. Methods: Exsectional study with a quantitative approach, carried out at the Chemotherapy Service of a university hospital located in Belém-PA - Brazil, with 200 users, from June 2019 to June 2022, through interviews and use of the Patient Satisfaction Instrument. Chi-square analysis, Pearson p-value, and chi-square analysis were applied, and the p-value ≤ 0.05 was considered. Results: Users reported good satisfaction in the overall average of the domains (>90%), highlighting the technical-professional domain, followed by the educational and confidence domains. The variables of clarification of medical guidelines, giving good advice, and taking the initiative after patient responses were associated with user satisfaction according to cancer topography and staff availability to those with different degrees of staging. Conclusion: This study assists managers in identifying and planning improvements in areas and services.

RESUMEN Objetivo: evaluar la satisfacción de los usuarios de oncología ambulatoria que utilizan fármacos antineoplásicos sobre los cuidados de enfermería. Métodos: estudio seccional con enfoque cuantitativo, realizado en el Servicio de Quimioterapia de un hospital universitario situado en Belém-PA - Brasilcon 200 usuarios en el período de junio de 2019 a junio de 2022, mediante entrevista y utilización del Instrumento de Satisfacción del Paciente. Se aplicó el análisis chi-cuadrado de Pearson y el valor p ≤0,05. Resultados: los usuarios declararon una buena satisfacción en la media global de los dominios (>90%), destacando el dominio técnico-profesional, seguido de los dominios educativo y de confianza. Las variables de aclaración sobre las directrices médicas, dar buenos consejos, tomar la iniciativa tras las respuestas de los pacientes se asociaron con la satisfacción de los usuarios según la topografía del cáncer y la disponibilidad del personal ante los distintos grados de estadificación. Conclusión: este estudio ayuda a los directivos a identificar y planificar mejoras en áreas y servicios.

RESUMO Objetivo: avaliar a satisfação do usuário oncológico ambulatorial em uso de antineoplásicos sobre os cuidados de enfermagem. Métodos: estudo transversal com abordagem quantitativa, realizado no Serviço de Quimioterapia de um hospital universitário localizado em Belém-PA - Brasil, com 200 usuários no período de junho de 2019 a junho de 2022, através de entrevista e uso do Instrumento de Satisfação do Paciente. Aplicou-se análise de qui-quadrado de Pearson e considerou-se p-valor ≤0,05. Resultados: os usuários relataram bom índice de satisfação na média geral dos domínios (>90%), destacando o domínio técnico-profissional, seguido do educacional e confiança. As variáveis de esclarecimento sobre as orientações médicas, dar bons conselhos, tomar iniciativa após as respostas dos pacientes foram associadas à satisfação do usuário conforme a topografia do câncer e a disponibilidade da equipe àqueles com diferentes graus de estadiamento. Conclusão: este estudo auxilia gestores na identificação e planejamento de melhorias nas áreas e serviços.

Abstract The Brazilian Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery has set up a committee to provide new evidence-based recommendations for patient care associated with chronic venous insufficiency. Topics were divided in five groups: 1. Classification, 2. Diagnosis, 3. Conservative or non-invasive treatment, 4. Invasive treatment and 5. Treatment of small vessels. This last series is closely related to the activities of Brazilian angiologists and vascular surgeons, who are heavily involved in the treatment of small superficial veins. These guidelines are intended to assist in clinical decision-making for attending physicians and health managers. The decision to follow a guideline recommendation should be made by the responsible physician on a case-by-case basis taking into account the patient's specific condition, as well as local resources, regulations, laws, and clinical practice recommendations.

Resumo A Sociedade Brasileira de Angiologia e de Cirurgia Vascular organizou uma comissão para fornecer novas recomendações baseadas em evidências sobre questões críticas de atendimento ao paciente com insuficiência venosa crônica. São abordados aqui os temas de classificação, diagnóstico, tratamento conservador, tratamento invasivo e tratamento de pequenos vasos. Esta última série está muito relacionada à atividade de angiologistas e cirurgiões vasculares, que possuem forte atuação no tratamento de pequenas veias superficiais. Estas diretrizes destinam-se a auxiliar na tomada de decisões clínicas de médicos assistentes e gestores de saúde. A decisão de seguir uma recomendação de diretriz deve ser feita pelo médico responsável caso a caso, levando em consideração a condição específica do paciente, bem como recursos locais, regulamentos, leis e recomendações de prática clínica.

Abstract The process of producing eucalyptus seedlings hosts a complex of arthropods, which can highlight sucking insects, such as aphids. The aim was to study aphids on seedlings and mini-stumps in a clonal mini-garden of eucalyptus in Brazil, through their identification, studies of population growth and host preference of these insects in different species of eucalyptus. In this study, it is registered, for the first time in Eucalyptus spp. in Brazil, the species Aphis gossypii Glover 1887 and Aphis spiraecola Patch 1914 (Hemiptera: Aphididae). Aphid colonies were observed in April and March 2018 infesting Eucalyptus pellita and Eucalyptus brassiana seedlings in the greenhouse of the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI), in Teresina, Piauí; and in a clonal mini-garden of Eucalyptus spp. from the PlantBem seedling production nursery in Monsenhor Gil, Piauí. The population growth of Aphis spiraecola was evaluated using the instantaneous growth rate (ri) in six species of eucalyptus (Eucalyptus pellita, Eucalyptus grandis, Eucalyptus brassiana, Eucalyptus urophylla, Eucalyptus tereticornis e Corymbia citriodora), as well as the aphid host preference for these species was tested through a choice test. Only in Corymbia citriodora there was no population growth of Aphis spiraecola. Aphis spiraecola showed less host preference for Corymbia citriodora, while Eucalyptus pellita and Eucalyptus urophylla were the preferred species. This is the first record of Aphis gossypii in a clonal mini-garden of eucalyptus and of Aphis spiraecola in seedlings of Eucalyptus spp. in Brazil.

Resumo No processo de produção de mudas de eucalipto ocorre um complexo de artrópodes, podendo destacar os insetos sugadores, como pulgões. Objetivou-se estudar pulgões em mudas e minicepas em minijardim clonal de eucalipto no Brasil, através de sua identificação, estudos de crescimento populacional e preferência hospedeira desses insetos em diferentes espécies de eucalipto. Neste estudo registra-se, pela primeira vez em Eucalyptus spp. no Brasil, as espécies Aphis gossypii Glover, 1887 e Aphis spiraecola Patch, 1914 (Hemiptera: Aphididae). Colônias de pulgões foram observadas em abril e março de 2018 infestando mudas de Eucalyptus pellita F. Muell e Eucalyptus brassiana S.T. Blake na casa de vegetação da Universidade Federal do Piauí (UFPI), em Teresina, Piauí; e em minijardim clonal de Eucalyptus spp. do viveiro de produção de mudas PlantBem, em Monsenhor Gil, Piauí. O crescimento populacional de Aphis spiraecola foi avaliado através da utilização da taxa instantânea de crescimento (ri) em seis espécies de eucalipto (Eucalyptus pellita, Eucalyptus grandis W.Hill ex Maiden, Eucalyptus brassiana, Eucalyptus urophylla S.T. Blake, Eucalyptus tereticornis Smith e Corymbia citriodora (Hook.) K.D. Hill & L.A.S. Johnson), assim como foi testada a preferência hospedeira do pulgão por essas espécies através de teste com chance de escolha. Apenas em Corymbia citriodora não houve crescimento populacional de A. spiraecola. Aphis spiraecola demonstrou menor preferência hospedeira por Corymbia citriodora, enquanto as espécies Eucalyptus pellita e Eucalyptus urophylla foram as preferidas. Este é o primeiro registro de Aphis gossypii em minijardim clonal de eucalipto e de Aphis spiraecola em mudas de Eucalyptus spp. no Brasil.

Métodos: Estudo transversal de uma coorte histórica de crianças com síndrome da Zika congênita (SZC) em um hospital de referência. Utilizou-se o protocolo do Ministério da Saúde para o diagnóstico de SZC. As variáveis analisadas foram características sociodemográficas e direitos sociais das crianças. Resultados: Das 161 crianças avaliadas de abril/2016 a julho/2018, 42 apresentavam SZC. Destas, 37 participaram do estudo, 75,7% com grave comprometimento neurológico. Anticonvulsivantes eram utilizados em 73% dos casos, 81% custeados pelas famílias. As famílias ainda custeavam fórmulas nutricionais (79%) e fraldas (100%). A terapia de reabilitação era realizada por 89% das crianças, embora 70% enfrentassem diversas barreiras para tal. Das 24 mães que trabalhavam, 83% não retornaram ao mercado de trabalho após o nascimento dos filhos. Conclusões: As famílias estavam situadas na interseção entre a atividade integral de cuidado de um filho com deficiências graves e a ineficiência e omissão do poder público, um contexto de desincentivo e desalento que, vencendo-as pelo cansaço, fazia com que muitas acabassem desistindo de tentar buscar seus direitos.

RESUMEN Introducción: Accidente cerebro vascular (ACV) o Ictus es un síndrome de inicio repentino caracterizado por cambios focales o globales en la función cerebral como consecuencia de un trastorno de origen vascular en un desarrollo superior a 24 horas. Dependiendo de la naturaleza de la lesión, puede ser isquémica o hemorrágica. Pudiendo ser la hemorrágica ser intraparenquimatoso o subaracnoideo. El ACV es la segunda causa principal de muerte adulta en el mundo. Existen varios hechos de riesgo asociados a la enfermedad, entre ellos la hipertensión, que es uno de los factores que ha incrementado exponencialmente los casos. Siendo este prevalente como factor de riesgo en la población. Objetivo: Conocer el perfil clínico y radiológico de los pacientes con evento cerebro vascular tratados en la Clínica Sagrada Esperanza de enero a diciembre de 2018. Métodos: La población de estudio estuvo conformada por todos los pacientes hospitalizados del 1 de enero al 31 de diciembre de 2018, con los siguientes códigos diagnósticos de liberación: I60 (Hemorragia subaracnoidea), I61 (Hemorragia intracerebral), I62 (Otra Hemorragia Subaracnoidea no traumática), I63 (Infarto cerebral), I64 (ACV no especificado), G45 (Ictus Isquémico Transitorio y Síndromes Correlacionados), conformando un total de 312 listados pacientes, de los cuales 211 fueron excluidos por tener antecedentes de la enfermedad en estudio, 18 por diagnóstico erróneo en el proceso y 8 casos se perdieron debido a falta de informes de exámenes. Hubo 75 casos para el estudio. Resultados: Del total de casos estudiados, el grupo de edad más prevalente fue de 41-60 años que representa el 45%, la edad promedio fue de 58,8 ± 13 años, el género masculino representó 45 casos (60%); Predominaron la raza negra con 64 casos (89%). La hipertensión arterial fue el factor más evidente 48 (64%). El ictus isquémico fue el más frecuente con 42 casos (56%). El promedio de la estancia fue de 9,4±7,3 días, La hemiparesia fue el déficit más evidente tanto en el ictus isquémico 34 (18%) como en el ictus hemorrágico 18 (9%), como en el fallecimiento de 4 pacientes (5%). La arteria cerebral media fue la región más afectada 43 (57.3%) tanto en el ictus isquémico 24 (32%) como en el ictus hemorrágico intraparenquimatosos 17 (53,1%) y subaracnoideos 2 (3,7%). Conclusión: La mayoría de los pacientes tenían entre 40 y 80 años, sexo masculino y afro americanos. El ictus fue más frecuente, y la zona más afectada fue la arteria cerebral media, siendo el déficit más frecuente la hemiparesia y la paresia facial; El factor de riesgo más común fue la hipertensión. En lo que respecta a la duración de la estancia, la mayoría de ellos permanecieron de 5 a 9 días y pocos de ellos murieron.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Cerebral Vascular Acident (CVA) or Stroke is a sudden onset syndrome characterized by focal or global changes in the brain funcion as consequence of a desorder of vascular origin witen a development longer than 24 hours. Depending or the nature of the injury, it can be Ischemic or Hemorrhsgic. The latter way be intraparenchymator or subarachnoid. Stroke is the second leading cause of death adult disability in the world. There are several risk factos associated with the above mentioned disease, among them the hypertension. There is an exponential increase in cases of fore mentioned disease as well as in the prevalence of risk factos in population. Objective: To know clinical and radiological profile of patients with CVA treated at Sagrada Esperança Clinic, from January to December 2018. Materials and Methods: The universe of study consisted of all the files of patients admitted from january 1st to December 31 st, 2018, with the following release diagnostic codes: I60 ( subarachnoid Hemorrhage), I61 ( Intracerebral Hemorrhage), I62 ( Other non-traumatic Subarachnoid Hemorrhage), I63 ( Cerebral Infarction), I64 (not specified), G45 (Transient Ischemic Stroke and Correlated syndromes), making up a total a 312 listed patients, of which 211 were excluded by having a history of the disease being studied, 18 due to misdiagnosis in the process and 8 cases were lost due to non exam or reports on the severs. There were 75 cases for the study. Results: From the total number of cases studied which is 75, the most prevalent age group was from 41-60 years old which makes up 45%, the average age was 58,8 ± 13 years old, the male gender represented 45 cases (60%); Blacks were predominant with 64 cases (89%). Ischemic stroke was the most frequent with 42 cases (56%), the average hospitalization was the most prevalente deficit in both Isquemic VCA, with 18 cases (9%), and 4 patients (5%) died. The widdle cerebral arrtery área was the most affected in both Isquemic 23 cases (30,7%) and Intraparenchymal Hemorrhagie Strokes 17 cases (53,1%) and subarachnnoid 2 cases (3,7%). Conclusion: Most patients were 40-80 years old, male and black. Stroke was more frequent, and the most affected área was the middle cerebral artery, with the most frequent deficit being hemiparesis and facial paresis; The most aommon risk factor was Hypertension. In regards to the lenth of stay mosto f them were in the clinic from 5-9 days and few of them died.
