This is a multicenter, cross-sectional study carried out with students regularly enrolled in undergraduate courses at eight Brazilian IFES. Data collection was conducted between October 2021 and February 2022 using an online self-completed questionnaire, which addressed sociodemographic and academic characteristics, lifestyle habits, and health conditions. Symptoms of anxiety and depression were assessed using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21). Variables were analyzed descriptively using frequency distribution and Pearson’s chi-square test. To estimate the prevalence of symptoms of anxiety and depression, the proportion and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) were used. The level of adopted statistical significance was 5%.

ABSTRACT: Pornunça (Manihot sp.) is a potential forage to feed ruminants in drylands worldwide; however, evaluations of animal diets are necessary. This study assessed intake and digestibility of dry matter and nutrients, physiological responses, ingestive behavior, water intake, as well as hematological and biochemical responses of lambs fed diets containing increasing levels of Pornunça silage (PS) replacing Tifton-85 bermudagrass hay (Cynodon spp.). Treatments consisted of 0, 33, 66, and 100 % PS considering the roughage portion of the diet (% dry matter – DM). The experimental design was completely randomized with six replicates. Cyanide acid (HCN) levels in fresh Pornunça leaves were 207.7 mg kg−1 DM and 76.78 mg kg−1 DM in PS. Intake of DM and crude protein (CP), and neutral detergent fiber corrected for ash and protein (NDFap) increased linearly with increasing levels of PS in the diet. Digestibility of DM, NDF, and CP were higher with increasing levels of PS. Idle time decreased linearly, while water balance, water intake via food, and total water in feces increased with PS. Nitrogen balance, physiological, and hematological responses were not influenced by treatments, while the final alanine aminotransferase increased for lambs fed all diets evaluated. The PS up to 100 % of the roughage portion increased DM and nutrient intake and digestibility without altering physiological responses and the hematological and biochemical parameters, resulting in greater water intake via food.

Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of four new potassium monopersulfate-based products on bacterial biofilms associated with avian infections, in order to disinfect drinking fountains in poultry farms. Initially, tests were performed in planktonic bacterial cells, to verify the antimicrobial activity and the minimum inhibitory concentration of the products, named PA, PB, PC, and PD. These products were tested on mature biofilms of the avian pathogens Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Enteritidis, and Listeria monocytogenes, grown on specimens preserved in acrylic blocks, by counting colony-forming units, scanning electron microscopy, and confocal fluorescence microscopy. All products were effective against the evaluated bacterial species. The PA and PB products inhibited the bacterial growth at ≤ 0.13% concentrations, and PC and PD showed the same effect at ≤ 0.25% concentrations. Furthermore, the PA product was able to eliminate mature biofilms of S. enterica subsp. enterica serovar Enteritidis and L. monocytogenes. The evaluated monopersulfate-based products, notably PA, are effective against bacterial biofilms associated with avian infections and show potential as sanitizers and disinfectants for drinking fountains in poultry farms.

Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a atividade antimicrobiana de quatro novos produtos à base de monopersulfato de potássio em biofilmes bacterianos associados a infecções aviárias, para a desinfecção de bebedouros em granjas avícolas. Inicialmente, realizaram-se testes em células bacterianas planctônicas, para verificar a atividade antimicrobiana e a concentração inibitória mínima dos produtos, denominados PA, PB, PC e PD. Esses produtos foram testados em biofilmes maduros dos patógenos aviários Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Enteritidis e Listeria monocytogenes, cultivados em espécimes preservados em blocos de acrílico, por meio da contagem de unidades formadoras de colônias, por microscopia eletrônica de varredura e por microscopia de fluorescência confocal. Todos os produtos foram eficazes contra as espécies bacterianas avaliadas. Os produtos PA e PB inibiram o crescimento bacteriano em concentrações ≤ 0,13%, e PC e PD apresentaram o mesmo efeito em concentrações ≤ 0,25%. Além disso, o produto PA foi capaz de eliminar os biofilmes maduros de S. enterica subsp. enterica serovar Enteritidis e L. monocytogenes. Os produtos à base de monopersulfato de potássio avaliados, notadamente o PA, são eficazes contra biofilmes bacterianos associados a infecções aviárias e apresentam potencial como sanitizantes e desinfetantes em bebedouros de granjas avícolas.

Abstract Previous studies have demonstrated the improved membrane properties of ceramic membranes made from thermally modified clays with cationic manioc starch and eggshell residue as additives. Based on the employment of these membranes, the relationship between thermally modified clays’ structure and cross-flow microfiltration using oil-in-water emulsion was studied (North Sea heavy crude oil). Using raw clay (M1) and thermally pretreated clay (M2), tubular ceramic membranes were prepared by the extrusion method. Critical Flux in different concentrations (250, 500, and 1000 mgL−1), fouling mechanisms, and membrane resistance were analyzed. The initial membrane resistance values for M1 and M2 membranes were 2.23 ± 0.32 × 1012 m−1 and 1.72 ± 0.293 × 1012 m−1, respectively. The membrane resistance was reduced by 22% due to the clay modification, which also decreased the contact angle, increased the pore size, and decreased the membrane roughness. Regarding the total organic carbon removal, the M2 membrane had no loss in separation efficiency despite having a slightly larger pore size. These results indicate that the clay-induced structural changes decreased the membrane resistance and improved the permeate flux but did not decrease the oil-in-water emulsion’s separation efficiency.

ABSTRACT The objective was to evaluate the inclusion of chitosan (CHI) and technical cashew nut shell liquid (CNSLt) as natural feed additives in cattle diets on nutrient digestibility, ruminal fermentation, and in vitro gas production kinetics. We conducted a completely randomized design with 5×4 factorial arrangement, with 20, 35, 50, 65, and 100% Tifton 85 hay and four additives, monensin (200 mg/kg DM), CNSLt (500 mg/kg DM), CHI (500 mg/kg DM), and CNSLt+CHI (500 mg/kg DM/each). Dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM) digestibility showed a linear reduction according to forage levels. The highest DM digestibility was observed with CHI on cattle diets. Inclusion of CHI increased DM digestibility. The highest in vitro organic matter and crude protein (CP) digestibilities were observed for CNSLt+CHI. The in vitro dry matter digestibility increased linearly with concentrate in the diet. There was interaction of forage:concentrate ratio and the additives for neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber and hemicellulose digestibility. Chitosan, CNSLt, and CNSLt+CHI promoted the lowest acetate:propionate ratio compared with monensin. Total gas production showed interaction of the forage:concentrate ratio and additives. Lag time was lowest with CNSLt+CHI. Chitosan and CNSLt can be considered alternative fermentation modulators to ionophores by improving nutrient digestibility and increasing ruminal propionate concentrations.

ABSTRACT A scoping review of systematic reviews was carried out to identify evidence of efficacy, effectiveness, and costeffectiveness of universal and selective suicide prevention programs among university students worldwide. Five databases were reviewed using terms in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The following were the inclusion criteria: systematic review or meta-analysis or meta-synthesis, suicide prevention in college students, evaluation of the efficacy, effectiveness and/or cost-effectiveness of interventions, and peer-reviewed studies. The quality of reviews was assessed. The field of study features three decades of publication in high-income countries. The strategy used, the components of the program, and the target audience to which they are delivered interfere with efficacy. In the psychoeducation strategy, the experiential and didactic components are more efficacious in the knowledge about suicide. And the motivational enhancement component promotes greater self-efficacy in suicide prevention. Programs that take a multimodal approach are effective in increasing short-term attitudes related to suicide and reducing rates of completed suicide. The gatekeeper strategy delivered to peer counselors is the most effective one in the outcomes, including short-term and long-term knowledge about suicide and its prevention and self-efficacy in suicide prevention. A greater number of evaluated studies of gatekeeper interventions were identified, indicating a trend in this research field. No review addressed the effects on subgroups that were classified based on sex, racial or sexual minorities, and special (indigenous) populations. Only one study addressed cost-effectiveness, pointing out that the psychoeducation and gatekeeper strategies have relevant net benefit rates, but the gatekeeper strategy has a higher cost–benefit ratio compared to the psychoeducation strategy. The findings indicate that psychoeducation and gatekeeper interventions tend to be more efficacious when they combine education and skills training to intervene in suicidal behavior. The components of the intervention and the target audience to which it is delivered influence efficacy. Multimodal interventions evaluate completed suicide outcomes, but require greater implementation efforts, in terms of human and financial resources and more time for the evaluation.

Resumo A compressão vascular da terceira parte do duodeno pela artéria mesentérica superior resulta no desenvolvimento de uma condição incomum de oclusão do trânsito duodenal conhecida como síndrome da artéria mesentérica superior. Este fenômeno pode acontecer após cirurgias de correção de deformidades da coluna, e sua taxa de ocorrência é de 0,5 a 4,7% dos casos. Isso ocorre em virtude da alteração do posicionamento do ponto de emergência da artéria, decorrente da mudança do comprimento do tronco após a cirurgia, e está associado a fatores de risco, como baixo índice de massa corpórea e perda ponderal. Os pacientes costumam se apresentar com um quadro de oclusão intestinal, com dor abdominal, náusea, vômito bilioso e saciedade precoce. O reconhecimento desta condição é importante para instituir o tratamento adequado, que varia do tratamento clínico, com sondagem e descompressão gástrica associados a suporte nutricional; à necessidade de abordagem cirúrgica. Complicações secundárias relacionadas à síndrome da artéria mesentérica superior incluem: recuperação cirúrgica e nutricional retardadas, problemas com a cicatrização e hospitalização prolongada. O objetivo do presente estudo é relatar um caso de síndrome da artéria mesentérica superior, ocorrido em um paciente com escoliose neuromuscular secundária a sequela de mielite transversa, submetido ao tratamento cirúrgico da deformidade da coluna.

Abstract Vascular compression of the third part of the duodenum by the superior mesenteric artery results in an unusual occlusion of the duodenal transit known as superior mesenteric artery syndrome. This syndrome can occur after surgeries to correct spinal deformities in a rate ranging from 0.5% to 4.7%. It results from a positional alteration of the artery emergency point due to a change in trunk length after surgery. It is associated with risk factors such as low body mass index and weight loss. Patients usually present with intestinal occlusion, abdominal pain, nausea, bilious vomiting, and early satiety. Superior mesenteric artery syndrome must be recognized early to institute an adequate treatment, which can be clinical (with gastric tube for decompression and nutritional support) or require a surgical procedure. Secondary complications related to superior mesenteric artery syndrome include delayed surgical and nutritional recovery, healing problems, and prolonged hospitalization. The present study aims to report a case of superior mesenteric artery syndrome in a patient with neuromuscular scoliosis secondary to a transverse myelitis who underwent surgical treatment for spinal deformity correction.

Abstract INTRODUCTION: Human visceral leishmaniasis is considered a major public health problem in the municipality of Cametá, Pará, Brazil. METHODS: This ecological study was conducted using data obtained from official Brazilian agencies. Spatial analysis of the variables was performed using the kernel interpolation technique and the bivariate Global Moran’s Index. RESULTS: The spatial distribution of the disease was not homogeneous, and it was associated with socio-environmental risk factors and public policies. CONCLUSIONS: Different relationships were observed between the variables studied and disease occurrence.

Resumo Os aneurismas de artérias viscerais (AAVs) e pseudoaneurismas de artérias viscerais (PAAVs) são condições raras e potencialmente letais quando rotos. Em geral, são encontrados incidentalmente na tomografia computadorizada de pacientes assintomáticos. Embora a cirurgia aberta convencional seja considerada atualmente o tratamento padrão ouro, a abordagem endovascular vem ganhando relevo por ser considerada um procedimento minimamente invasivo e com riscos cirúrgicos menores. Destaca-se, nessa abordagem, o uso de embolização por molas (coils) em AAVs e PAAVs saculares e implante de stent modulador de fluxo como alternativa de tratamento para aneurismas fusiformes. Apresentamos o caso de uma paciente de 51 anos com queixa de dor abdominal aguda, taquicardia e hipotensão, com evidência de sangramento abdominal em angiotomografia e diagnóstico de pseudoaneurisma de artéria ileocólica (AIC) roto. Ela foi submetida a tratamento endovascular precoce de embolização da AIC com sucesso, e houve melhora do quadro clínico.

Abstract Visceral artery aneurysms (VAAs) and visceral artery pseudoaneurysms (VAPAs) are rare conditions and are potentially lethal when they rupture. They are usually found as incidental findings on computed tomography (CT) scans of asymptomatic patients. Although conventional open surgery is currently considered the gold standard treatment, the endovascular approach has gained prominence as a minimally invasive procedure with lower surgical risk. In this approach, use of coil embolization in saccular VAAs and VAPAs and implantation of flow-modulating stents constitute alternative treatments for fusiform aneurysms. We present the case of a 51-year-old female patient complaining of acute abdominal pain, tachycardia, and hypotension, with evidence of abdominal bleeding on CT angiography, who was diagnosed with a ruptured ileocolic artery (ICA) pseudoaneurysm. She underwent early endovascular treatment for ICA embolization, which was successful and achieved clinical improvement.

RESUMO Objetivo: Bibliometria é um grupo de métodos estatísticos e matemáticos empregados para medir e analisar a quantidade e a qualidade de artigos científicos, livros e outras formas de publicações. O objetivo do presente estudo foi realizar uma análise bibliométrica do Jornal Brasileiro de Psiquiatria (JBP), relacionando seus 100 artigos mais citados na literatura científica e identificando suas principais características em termos de autoria e questões de pesquisa e delineamento experimental. Métodos: As 100 referências mais citadas no JBP foram identificadas por meio de uma busca no Google Scholar. Foram registradas e analisadas as seguintes informações: autor principal, último autor, autor correspondente, número total de autores, gênero dos autores, ano de publicação, instituição de pesquisa, origem geográfica e idioma de cada referência e seu tema de investigação e delineamento metodológico. Resultados: O aumento acentuado no número de citações nos últimos 15 anos, a boa distribuição das publicações entre os estados e centros de pesquisa brasileiros, a ausência de viés de gênero entre os autores e a variada gama de tópicos publicados sugerem um bom desempenho editorial atual do JBP. A relativa falta de revisões sistemáticas e estudos longitudinais, os poucos artigos publicados em inglês e a pequena participação de autores estrangeiros são pontos que requerem melhorias. Conclusão: O presente estudo sugere que o levantamento dos 100 artigos mais citados no JBP pode fornecer um panorama histórico da evolução dessa revista, bem como destacar os principais obstáculos, restrições e desafios enfrentados por seus editores e autores.

ABSTRACT Objective: Bibliometrics is a group of statistical and mathematical methods employed to measure and analyze the quantity and the quality of scientific articles, books, and other forms of publications. The objective of the present study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the Jornal Brasileiro de Psiquiatria (JBP) by listing its 100 most highly cited articles in the scientific literature and identifying their main characteristics in terms of authorship and research topics and design. Methods: The 100 top-cited references in the JBP were identified through a search with Google Scholar. The main author, last author, corresponding author, the total number of authors, gender of the authors, year of publication, research institution, geographic origin, language, and the research design and subject of each reference were recorded and analyzed. Results: A marked increase in the number of citations in the last 15 years, a relatively balanced distribution of publications among the Brazilian states and research centers, absence of gender bias among authors, and a varied range of published topics suggest a good current editorial performance by the JBP. Relative lack of systematic reviews and longitudinal studies, dearth of articles published in the English language, and modest participation of foreign authors were points requiring improvement. Conclusion: The present study suggests that a survey of the 100 most cited articles in the JBP can provide a historical overview of the progress of this journal, as well as highlight the main obstacles, constraints, and challenges faced by its editors and authors.

ABSTRACT This article presents different stories and memories of the Tina Martins Women’s Referral Center. To this end, we moved away from the qualitative studies of history and memory in organizational studies that are based on the historic turn, which aims to go beyond the production of narratives that resort to the past as a tool for reproducing the power relations of the present. A vast amount of material was compiled from observing participants, including a field notebook, event records, and photographs, and individual interviews were recorded and transcribed. The results were organized into two main thematic axes: the first presents the process that led to the Center’s foundation and the political disputes over its space, while the second addresses the meanings present in the group’s everyday life. Given the construction of diversified and procedural historical narratives, this article proposes some critical reflections on the Center’s experience that were discussed with its members, and instigates, via memories, the adoption of the historical approach to organizational studies.

RESUMEN Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar las diversas historias y recuerdos de la Casa de Referencia de la Mujer Tina Martins. Para ello, se partió de los estudios cualitativos sobre historia y memoria en los Estudios Organizacionales basados en el giro histórico (historic turn), cuyo objetivo es ir más allá de la producción de narrativas que utilizan el pasado como herramienta para reproducir las relaciones de poder del presente. A través de una observación participante, se construyó un vasto material, como un cuaderno de campo, registros de eventos, fotografías y entrevistas individuales grabadas y transcritas. Estos resultados se organizaron en dos caminos temáticos principales: primero, se presentó el proceso de creación de la Casa. Luego, se abordaron los sentidos presentes en la vida diaria del grupo. Como conclusión, se propusieron algunas reflexiones críticas sobre la experiencia de la Casa, discutidas con las mujeres del grupo, promoviendo a través de recuerdos trabajos históricos en el campo de los Estudios Organizacionales.

RESUMO O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar as diversas histórias e memórias da Casa de Referência da Mulher Tina Martins. Para isso, partiu-se dos estudos qualitativos sobre história e memória nos Estudos Organizacionais baseados na virada histórica (historic turn), a qual visa ir além da produção de narrativas que utilizam o passado como ferramenta de reprodução das relações de poder do presente. Por meio de uma observação participante, foi construído um vasto material, como um caderno de campo, registros de eventos, fotografias e entrevistas individuais gravadas e transcritas. Esses resultados foram organizados em dois percursos temáticos principais: primeiro, apresentou-se o processo de criação da Casa, envolvendo as disputas políticas pelo seu espaço. Em seguida, foram trabalhados os sentidos presentes no cotidiano do grupo. Tendo em vista a construção de narrativas históricas diversificadas e processuais, foram propostas algumas reflexões críticas sobre a experiência da Casa, discutidas junto às integrantes, instigando, por meio das memórias, trabalhos históricos no campo dos Estudos Organizacionais.

Resumo A terapia ocupacional no Brasil vem consolidando uma diversidade de ações nos seus diferentes campos de atuação que reflete o engajamento dos profissionais nas reais e desafiantes demandas da sociedade brasileira. No fim da década de 1980, algumas formulações teóricas em torno das bases epistemológicas da terapia ocupacional, em especial a perspectiva materialista-histórica, contribuíram para a reflexão e a revisão da prática profissional, defendendo o engajamento profissional nas demandas sociais. Por meio de uma revisão assistemática da literatura, este texto objetiva refletir e atualizar acerca dos conceitos trazidos pelo materialismo histórico frente ao campo metodológico de embasamento teórico e intervenção em terapia ocupacional. Por meio de uma análise de textos “clássicos” da profissão, que lançaram a discussão da corrente materialista-histórica nos anos de 1980 e 1990, apresentam-se argumentos acerca da pertinência e atualidade desta linha de pensamento na defesa de uma prática profissional que seja técnica, ética e política, respondendo às demandas e desafios da sociedade contemporânea.

Abstract Occupational therapy in Brazil has been consolidating a diversity of actions in different fields that reflects the engagement of occupational therapists in Brazilian society. At the end of the 1980s, some theoretical formulations around occupational therapy epistemological bases, especially the materialist-historical perspective, contributed to the reflection and review of professional practice, defending professional engagement in social demands. Through a systematic literature review, this text aims to reflect and update on the concepts brought by materialism-historical adding for the discussion of the ways of life and their projection in the methodological field theoretical background of the intervention of occupational therapy. Through an analysis of profession “classic” texts from the 1980's and 1990's decades, that discussed the materialist historical perspective, the arguments presented are related trough their relevance and contemporaneity in theoretical perspective defending a professional practice that is based on professional, ethical and political approaches, responding to the demands and challenges of contemporary society.

Resumo A pandemia de Covid-19 tem provocado a adoção de medidas que ocasionam mudança na rotina e na organização do trabalho das universidades. Os ambientes virtuais vêm se apresentando como vetores para os cursos de graduação durante o enfrentamento da pandemia, sendo necessário produzir reflexões para este novo contexto. A Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa em Terapia Ocupacional – RENETO, Brasil, atenta às questões implicadas com a formação e produção de conhecimento da área, vem buscando, junto aos pares, maneiras de realizar uma leitura complexa da realidade e, com base nesta, criar e implementar estratégias que deem conta de atender as demandas impostas, respeitando as regionalidades e naturezas institucionais em que os cursos de graduação estão inseridos. Assim, com base em um levantamento realizado junto às coordenações de cursos de graduação em terapia ocupacional, a fim de compreender como os cursos de graduação têm aderido ou não à oferta de ensino por meio de plataformas digitais, o presente trabalho reflete acerca das tomadas de decisões pedagógicas, éticas e políticas no âmbito das diversas atividades acadêmicas, não apenas no contexto do enfrentamento da pandemia, como também nas projeções da nova realidade imposta por esta problemática.

Abstract The Covid-19 pandemic has led to the adoption of measures that bring about changes in the routine and organization of work in universities. The virtual environments have been considered vectors for undergraduate courses during the pandemic, and it is necessary to reflect on this new context. The Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa em Terapia Ocupacional – RENETO (National Network of Education and Research in Occupational Therapy), Brazil, attentive to the issues involved in the formation and production of knowledge in the field, has been searching with peers for ways to carry out a complex reading of reality and, from this, create and implement strategies to be able to deal with the demands imposed, respecting the regionalities and institutional nature in which the undergraduate courses are running on. Thus, based on a survey carried out with the coordinators of Occupational Therapy courses, which aimed to understand how the undergraduate courses have adhered or not to teaching through digital platforms, this paper reflects on decision making about pedagogical, ethical, and political dimensions in the scope of academic activities not only in the context of the pandemic, but also considering the projections of the new reality imposed by the pandemic.

However, there is still a somewhat disjointed scenario in the area and realities significantly different, between public and private institutions.

A Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa em Terapia Ocupacional – RENETO, Brasil, atenta as questões implicadas com a formação e produção de conhecimento da área, vem buscando junto aos pares maneiras de realizar uma leitura complexa da realidade e, a partir desta, criar e implementar estratégias que deem conta de atender as demandas impostas, respeitando as regionalidades em que os cursos de graduação estão inseridos. Assim, a partir de um levantamento realizado junto às coordenações de cursos de graduação em Terapia Ocupacional, a fim de compreender como os cursos de graduação têm aderido ou não à oferta de ensino por meio de plataformas digitais, o presente trabalho pretende refletir acerca das tomadas de decisões pedagógicas, éticas e políticas no âmbito das diversas atividades acadêmicas, não apenas no contexto do enfrentamento da pandemia, como também nas projeções da nova realidade imposta por esta problemática. Contudo, observa-se ainda um cenário um tanto desarticulado na área, entre instituições significativamente diferentes, públicas e privadas.

Abstract In Brazil, rabies occurs mainly within an urban cycle, in which dogs and bats are reservoirs. This paper aims to report the occurrence of rabies in Callithrix sp. in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In June 2019 a hybrid specimen was referred for diagnosis. The Direct Fluorescent Antibody, Mouse Inoculation, and Polymerase Chain Reaction tests were positive. A phylogenetic analysis was compatible with antigenic variant 3, characteristic of Desmodus rotundus. New studies should be undertaken to elucidate the real role of callitrichids in the urban rabies cycle.
