Abstract Spinal muscular atrophy linked to chromosome 5 (SMA-5q) is an autosomal recessive genetic disease caused by mutations in the SMN1. SMA-5q is characterized by progressive degeneration of the spinal cord and bulbar motor neurons, causing severe motor and respiratory impairment with reduced survival, especially in its more severe clinical forms. In recent years, highly effective disease-modifying therapies have emerged, either acting by regulating the splicing of exon 7 of the SMN2 gene or adding a copy of the SMN1 gene through gene therapy, providing a drastic change in the natural history of the disease. In this way, developing therapeutic guides and expert consensus becomes essential to direct the use of these therapies in clinical practice. This consensus, prepared by Brazilian experts, aimed to review the main available disease-modifying therapies, critically analyze the results of clinical studies, and provide recommendations for their use in clinical practice for patients with SMA-5q. This consensus also addresses aspects related to diagnosis, genetic counseling, and follow-up of patients under drug treatment. Thus, this consensus provides valuable information regarding the current management of SMA-5q, helping therapeutic decisions in clinical practice and promoting additional gains in outcomes. Resumo Atrofia muscular espinhal ligada ao cromossomo 5 (AME-5q) é uma doença genética de herança autossômica recessiva causada por mutações no gene SMN1. A AME-5q cursa com degeneração progressiva dos motoneurônios medulares e bulbares, acarretando grave comprometimento motor e respiratório com redução da sobrevida, especialmente nas suas formas clínicas mais graves. Nos últimos anos, terapias modificadoras da doença altamente eficazes, ou que atuam regulando o splicing do exon 7 do gene SMN2 ou adicionando uma cópia do gene SMN1 via terapia gênica, têm surgido, proporcionando uma mudança drástica na história natural da doença. Dessa forma, o desenvolvimento de guias terapêuticos e de consensos de especialistas torna-se importante no sentido de direcionar o uso dessas terapias na prática clínica. Este consenso, preparado por especialistas brasileiros, teve como objetivos revisar as principais terapias modificadoras de doença disponíveis, analisar criticamente os resultados dos estudos clínicos dessas terapias e prover recomendações para seu uso na prática clínica para pacientes com AME-5q. Aspectos relativos ao diagnóstico, aconselhamento genético e seguimento dos pacientes em uso das terapias também são abordados nesse consenso. Assim, esse consenso promove valiosas informações a respeito do manejo atual da AME-5q auxiliando decisões terapêuticas na prática clínica e promovendo ganhos adicionais nos desfechos finais. RESUMO Antecedentes: A Pandemia por COVID-19 tem trazido desafios subtanciais para a prática clínica no tratamento das doenças neuromusculares hereditárias (DNMh). A infecção não tem sido a única preocupação para os pacientes. O distanciamento social tem comprometido a assistência multidisciplinar, atividade física e tem trazido problemas mentais em decorrência do próprio isolamento. Nós apresentamos aqui um seguimento de 363 pacientes com DNMh de um centro terciário Brasileiro durante o pico da Pandemia de Covid-19. Objetivos: Mostrar a frequência e gravidade da infecção por Sars-Cov-2 em pacientes com DNMh e demonstrar os efeitos da pandemia nos hábitos de vida, na progressão da doença e no cuidado multidisciplinary. Métodos Trezentos e sessenta e três pacientes (58% homens and 42% mulheres) foram acompanhados por 3 meses através de 3 teleconsultas durante o pico da Pandemia de Covid-19 no Brasil. Resultados Houve um decréscimo no número de pacientes que faziam terapia física, respiratória e fonoaudiológica. Em muitos pacientes, o apetite (33%) e hábitos do sono (25%) se alteraram. Exercícios físicos e terapias foram interrompidas pela maioria dos pacientes. Physical exercises and therapies were interrupted for most of the patients. Eles relataram piora ou aparecimento de fadiga (17%), dor (17%), retrações (14%), e escoliose (7%). Irritabilidade, mudanças no sono, peso e apetite, sendo principalmente diminuição do apetite e peso foram mais frequentemente encontrados em pacientes que apresentaram piora clinica da doença. Houve uma baixa taxa de contaminação por Covid-19 (0.8%), e todos os pacientes infectado apresentaram quadro clinico leve. Conclusão O isolamento por si só se mostrou protetor na perspectiva de infecção por Covid-19, mas pode desencadear um cenário complexo com mudanças nos hábitos de vida e curso desfavorável da doença de base.

ABSTRACT Background The COVID-19 pandemic has brought substantial challenges for current practices in treating hereditary neuromuscular disorders (hNMDs). However, this infection has not been the only concern for these patients. Social distancing has compromised multidisciplinary assistance and physical activity, and has brought about several mental health issues. We presented a follow-up on 363 patients with hNMDs at a Brazilian tertiary center during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Objective We aimed to show the frequency and severity of SARS-CoV-2 infection among hNMD patients and to demonstrate the effects of the pandemic on life habits, disease progression and multidisciplinary supportive care status. Methods Three hundred and sixty-three patients (58% male and 42% female) were followed for three months through three teleconsultations during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. Results There were decreases in the numbers of patients who underwent physical, respiratory and speech therapies. For several patients, their appetite (33%) and sleep habits (25%) changed. Physical exercises and therapies were interrupted for most of the patients. They reported new onset/worsening of fatigue (17%), pain (17%), contractions (14%) and scoliosis (7%). Irritability and sleep, weight and appetite changes, and especially diminished appetite and weight loss, were more frequent in the group that reported disease worsening. There was a low COVID-19 contamination rate (0.8%), and all infected patients had a mild presentation. Conclusion The isolation by itself was protective from a COVID-19 infection perspective. However, this isolation might also trigger a complex scenario with life habit changes that are associated with an unfavorable course for the NMD.

Abstract This study aimed to formulate a milk protein concentrate (MPC) and evaluate the effect of this MPC supplementation on body composition, lipid profile, and product acceptability in resistance training (RT) practitioners. The physical, chemical and sensory properties were then analyzed. To evaluate the effect of the MPC supplementation on resistance training practitioners, 30 males were divided into two groups: a control group and an intervention group. Then the participants in the intervention group were supplemented with 500 mL of the MPC (250 mL pre-RT and 250 mL post-RT). Body composition (weight, height, and skinfolds) and biochemical markers (cholesterol and triglycerides) were measured at baseline and at 30, 60, and 90 days after treatment. Body composition results showed that the MPC supplementation during a RT program significantly (p < 0.05) reduced body fat percentage and fat mass, and increased lean mass in RT practitioners. Characterization of the MPC revealed low fat (3.32 ± 0.08%) and carbohydrates (4.58 ± 0.59%), and high protein (18.51 ± 0.51%) concentrations. Additionally, the product showed satisfactory acceptability index (> 71%). Thus, the MPC supplementation contributed to reduction of fat percentage, fat mass, and increase of lean mass in RT practitioners, without lipid profile alterations.

RESUMO: Diferentes tratamentos de resfriamento são utilizados antes da estocagem das carnes. O efeito da aspersão de carcaças (SC) na qualidade da carne parece variar. Neste estudo, investigou-se os efeitos da aspersão de carcaças bovinas na perda de peso e na qualidade da carne durante subsequente estocagem. O programa de aspersão testado foi de um tempo total de 2 h, com uma aspersão inicial de 180 s, seguida por ciclos de aspersão de 60 s em intervalos de 540 s. Os cortes comerciais desossados “Peixinho” (IMPS 116B) foram embalados a vácuo e estocados por até 60 dias. Foram avaliadas as perdas por exsudação e cozimento, força de cisalhamento por Warner-Bratzler, cor da carne (CIE L*, a*, b*) e qualidade microbiológica. SC reduziu a perda de peso da carcaça (P < 0,001) em comparação com o resfriamento convencional. No entanto, o tempo de estocagem influenciou a perda por exsudação, por cozimento e força de cisalhamento. Os valores de CIE a* e b* aumentaram (P < 0,05) após 30 dias de maturação em ambos os tratamentos de resfriamento. O crescimento pronunciado de psicrotróficos foi observado durante a estocagem em ambos os tratamentos. Em conclusão, o SC pode ser usado para reduzir as perdas econômicas associadas ao resfriamento da carne, sem afetar os atributos de qualidade da carne.

ABSTRACT: Different chilling treatments are used before meat storage. The effect of spray chilling (SC) on meat quality appears to vary. Here, we investigated the effects of SC on beef carcass weight loss and meat quality during subsequent storage. The 2-h SC program tested involved 180-s initial spraying, followed by 60-s spray cycles at 540-s intervals. Deboned chuck tender (IMPS 116B) beef cuts were vacuum-packaged and stored for up to 60 d. Purge and cooking losses, Warner-Bratzler shear force, meat colour [CIE L*, a*, b*], and microbiological quality were evaluated. SC reduced carcass weight loss (P<0.001) compared with conventional chilling. However, storage time affected the purge and cooking losses, and Warner-Bratzler shear force. CIE a* and b* values increased (P<0.05) after 30-d aging in both chilling treatments. Pronounced psychrotrophic growth was observed during storage after both treatments. In conclusion, SC can be used to reduce the economic losses associated with meat chilling, without affecting meat quality attributes.

RESUMO Os canabinoides compreendem os endocanabinoides, fitocanabinoides e os canabinoides sintéticos e desempenham ações no sistema nervoso central e periférico. Uma quantidade enorme de publicações tem sido lançada nos últimos anos, embora a cannabis seja conhecida por milênios. Os Departamentos Científicos da Academia Brasileira de Neurologia descreveram as evidências do uso médico em suas áreas. A literatura está em constantes mudanças e possíveis novas evidências podem surgir nos próximos dias ou meses. A prescrição dessas substâncias deve ser discutida com os pacientes e suas famílias, com conhecimento sobre eventos adversos e sua eficácia.

ABSTRACT Cannabinoids comprehend endocannabinoids, phytocannabinoids, and synthetic cannabinoids, with actions both in the central and peripherical nervous systems. A considerable amount of publications have been made in recent years, although cannabis has been known for over a thousand years. Scientific Departments from the Brazilian Academy of Neurology described evidence for medical use in their areas. Literature is constantly changing, and possible new evidence can emerge in the next days or months. Prescription of these substances must be discussed with patients and their families, with knowledge about adverse events and their efficacy.

ABSTRACT Objective: to present Thomas Kuhn's theory and its applicability for epistemological evaluation of the Nursing Graduate Program. Method: reflective analysis with a guiding question: How can Thomas Kuhn's theory contribute to an epistemological evaluation of the Graduate Nursing Program? Results: the Nursing Science in its historical process of realization has been facing numerous challenges that impose themselves to scientific knowledge: having an accurate and robust philosophical basis that justifies and legitimizes the knowledge of the area to support its assertions; dwell on the object of his science; have clear the field of discipline and its relationship with the related sciences, establishing interdisciplinary dialogue. To base scientific production on objects proper to nursing, to seek appropriate methods to approach them without disregarding the knowledge of nurses' experiences and accomplishments may be the guiding thread that enables Nursing Science to be linked to the pragmatics of the profession and Cheers. This has been the challenge for the nursing scientific community. The elements of Kuhnian theory are presented: pre-science, normal science, crisis and revolution; points out a hypothesis to be tested by the researchers of the program. If the hypothesis is true, Nursing Science approaches the paradigmatic level and will manifest itself in pragmatics through the scientific nursing discipline. If rejected, there will be a new classification for the area. Conclusion: the corpus doutrinae of the profession requires qualitative self-assessment of an epistemological nature. Thomas Kuhn's thinking can support this assessment.

RESUMEN Objetivo: presentar la teoría de Thomas Kuhn y su aplicabilidad para la evaluación epistemológica del Programa de Postgrado en Enfermería. Método análisis reflexivo con la pregunta guía: ¿Cómo puede contribuir la teoría de Thomas Kuhn a la evaluación epistemológica del Programa de Postgrado en Enfermería Resultados: la Ciencia de Enfermería en su proceso histórico de realización se ha enfrentado a numerosos desafíos que se imponen al conocimiento científico, entre ellos: tener una base filosófica precisa y sólida que justifique y legitime el conocimiento del área para apoyar sus afirmaciones; detenerse en el objeto de su ciencia; tener claro el campo de disciplina y su relación con las ciencias relacionadas, estableciendo un diálogo interdisciplinario. Basar la producción científica en objetos propios de la enfermería, buscar métodos apropiados para abordarlos sin ignorar el conocimiento de las experiencias y logros de las enfermeras puede ser el hilo conductor que permita que la ciencia de enfermería se vincule con la pragmática de la profesión y salud Este ha sido el desafío para la comunidad científica de enfermería. Se presentan elementos de la teoría de KUHNIANA: la ciencia, la ciencia normal, la crisis y la revolución apuntan a una hipótesis para ser probada por investigadores del programa. Si la hipótesis es cierta, la ciencia de enfermería se aproxima al nivel paradigmático y se manifestará en pragmática a través de la disciplina científica de enfermería. Si se rechaza, habrá una nueva clasificación para el área. Conclusión: la corpus doutrinae de la profesión requiere una autoevaluación cualitativa de naturaleza epistemológica. El pensamiento de Thomas Kuhn puede apoyar esta evaluación.

RESUMO Objetivo: apresentar a teoria de Thomas Kuhn e a sua aplicabilidade para a avaliação epistemológica do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Enfermagem. Método: análise reflexiva tendo a questão norteadora: como a teoria de Thomas Kuhn pode contribuir para a avaliação epistemológica do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Enfermagem? Resultados: a Ciência da Enfermagem em seu processo histórico de realização vem se deparando com inúmeros desafios que se impõem ao conhecimento científico, dentre eles: ter base filosófica precisa e robusta que justifique e legitime o conhecimento da área para dar apoio às suas assertivas; deter-se no objeto de sua ciência; ter claro o campo da disciplina e sua relação com as ciências afins, estabelecendo o diálogo interdisciplinar. Assentar a produção científica em objetos próprios à enfermagem, buscar métodos apropriados para abordá-los sem que se desprezem o conhecimento das experiências e realizações das enfermeiras pode ser o fio condutor que possibilite a Ciência da Enfermagem a ligar-se à pragmática da profissão e da saúde. Esse tem sido o desafio para a comunidade científica da Enfermagem. Conclusão: o corpus doutrinae da profissão exige a autoavaliação qualitativa de natureza epistemológica. O pensamento de Thomas Kuhn pode subsidiar essa avaliação.

ABSTRACT: In patients who need endodontic re-treatment, and where the prognosis for surgical or non-surgical re-treatment is poor or treatment may be risky, one alternative is to opt for extraction of the affected tooth and replacement by an implant. However treatment by intentional reimplantation (IR) is also a possibility. The object of the present study was to present a case of a patient aged 71 years who needed endodontic re-treatment, where IR treatment was selected. The patient reported spontaneous pain which disappeared completely with the use of analgesics. This tooth had previously been treated endodontically around 1 year earlier, and no pain was reported in the first two months after treatment.Nonetheless, about 3 months before the present consultation, intensity of the symptoms had increased with a sensation of pressure in the apical-coronal direction. Cone-beam computerised tomography (CBCT) showed a periapical lesion in tooth 3.7. Based on the clinical and imaging examinations, acute apical periodontitis was diagnosed in tooth 3.7.The tooth was treated by IR. It was carefully extracted and inspected for cracks or perforations. It was treated under the microscope with root resection, and then retrograde obturation was carried out with bioceramic material. The tooth was then repositioned in its alveolus. It was immobilised for 15 days, after which the patient could return gradually to normal masticatory function. In the 6 months check-up the patient presented no pain or sensitivity to percussion. No root resorption or periapical radiolucency was observed in the periapical X-ray. We conclude that IR is an alternative to extraction followed or not by prosthetic treatment, for patients who need endodontic re-treatment. The treatment presents good levels of success, and of acceptance by the patient.

RESUMEN: En pacientes que necesitan de retratamiento endodóntico y el retratamiento quirúrgico o no quirúrgico tiene un pronóstico desfavorable o puede ser riesgoso, se puede optar por la extracción del diente afectado y su reemplazo por implante o se puede elegir el tratamiento mediante la técnica de reimplante intencional (RI). El objetivo del presente estudio fue presentar un caso de paciente de 71 años con necesidad de retratamiento endodóntico, donde se optó por la realización del RI. Paciente relatava dolor espontáneo que desaparecia completamente con el uso de analgésicos. Este diente ya había sido tratado endodónticamente hace alrededor de 1 año, y el paciente noreportó dolor en los primeros dos meses después del tratamiento.No obstante, hace aproximadamente 3 meses la intensidad de los síntomas aumentó, junto con la sensación de presión en el sentido ápice-corona. La tomografía computarizada cone-beam (TCCB) mostró lesión periapical en el diente 3.7. Basado en el examen clínico e imagenológico se diagnosticó periodontitis apical aguda en el diente 3.7.Para el tratamiento se realizó la técnica de RI, siendo extraído el diente cuidadosamente, e inspeccionado a fin de localizar fisuras o perforaciones. El diente fue tratado bajo microscopio y se realizó la resección de la raíz. Se realizó la obturación retrógrada con material biocerámico. Enseguida el diente fue reposicionado en su alveolo, la inmovilización fue realizada durante 15 días y la paciente logró retornar gradualmente a su función masticatoria. En el seguimiento de 6 meses la paciente no presentó dolor o sensibilidad a la percusión. En la radiografía periapical no se observó resorción radicular o radiolucencia periapical. Concluimos que el RI en pacientes que necesitan retratamiento endodóntico es una alternativa a la realización de la exodoncia seguida o no, de tratamiento protético, donde existe una buena aceptación por parte del paciente y éxito en el tratamiento.

RESUMO Introdução O trabalhador rural envolvido na colheita de café é um personagem importante para a economia de muitos países. Contudo, são raros os estudos que envolvam a saúde desse trabalhador. Objetivo Analisar através da eletromiografia a musculatura paravertebral lombar e reto abdominal dos trabalhadores rurais durante a colheita de café com a derriçadeira manual, em diferentes bases de apoio para os pés (inclinado, declinado e horizontal). Métodos Participaram do estudo oito trabalhadores rurais da região de Muzambinho, do sexo masculino. Todos os procedimentos e rotinas eletromiográficas foram aplicados de acordo com o protocolo de SENIAN. Os trabalhadores realizaram os movimentos usuais da colheita do café utilizando a derriçadeira manual durante um minuto. Os dados foram expressos em média e desvio padrão com o sinal RMS (root mean square), além disso, foi analisada a frequência mediana (FM). Resultados Observou-se que os planos não influenciaram na atividade eletromiográfica RMS e nem na FM, no entanto, foi constatado que os músculos paravertebrais possuem maiores níveis de ativação eletromiográfica quando comparados aos músculos abdominais, independentemente dos planos. Conclusão Conclui-se que para a tarefa realizada os músculos paravertebrais apresentam maior ativação eletromiográfica em comparação aos retos abdominais. ABSTRACT Introduction The rural worker involved in the coffee harvest is an important person for the economy of the many countries. However, scientific studies on the health of this worker are rare. Objective To analyze the lumbar paravertebral musculature and abdominal rectus of rural workers during coffee harvesting with the manual machines with different footrest bases (inclined, declined and horizontal), by means of electromyography. Methods Eight male rural workers from the region of Muzambinho participated in the study. All procedures and electromyographic routines were applied according to the SENIAN protocol. The workers made the usual coffee harvesting movements, using the manual machine for one minute. The data are expressed as means and standard deviations. The RMS (root mean square) signal and the median frequency (FM) were also analyzed. Results It was observed that the type of footrest base did not influence the electromyographic activity RMS or the FM, but we found that the paravertebral muscles have greater electromyographic activation when compared to the abdominal muscles, regardless of the type of footrest base. Conclusion For the task performed, the paravertebral muscles present greater electromyographic activation compared to the abdominal rectus. Objetivo Analizar a través de electromiografía la musculatura paravertebral lumbar y recto abdominal de los trabajadores rurales durante la cosecha de café con la cosechadora manual, en diferentes bases de apoyo para los pies (inclinado, declinado y horizontal). Métodos Participaron en el estudio ocho trabajadores rurales de la región de Muzambinho, del sexo masculino. Todos los procedimientos y rutinas electromiográficas fueron aplicadas de acuerdo con el protocolo de SENIAN. Resultados Se observó que los planos no influenciaron en la actividad electromiográfica RMS y tampoco en la FM, sin embargo, fue constatado que los músculos paravertebrales poseen mayores niveles de activación electromiográfica cuando comparados a los músculos abdominales, independientemente de los planos. Conclusión Se concluye que para la tarea realizada los músculos paravertebrales presentan mayor activación electromiográfica en comparación a los rectos abdominales. Resumo As sementes de cajazeira (Spondias mombin L.) apresentam complexo mecanismo de dormência, que condiciona germinação lenta e desuniforme. Presentemente, não existem métodos eficientes para promover a geminação das sementes. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o efeito do armazenamento sobre a superação da dormência de sementes dessa Anacardiaceae. Foram utilizados diásporos de duas cajazeiras, identificadas como Planta matriz 1 e Plant matriz 2, estabelecidas no município de Tomé-Açu-PA. Inicialmente, foi investigado se as estruturas que envolvem as sementes (mesocarpo interno e endocarpo) impedem a absorção de água. Para tanto, diásporos das duas plantas foram semeados entre papel mata-borrão, com nível adequado de água e, periodicamente, no total de 144 horas computou-se o teor de água das sementes. Os estudos de armazenamento envolveram dois experimentos. No primeiro, diásporos de ambas as matrizes, com teor de água em torno de 5,0%, foram armazenados em embalagens impermeáveis, durante um ano, nas seguintes condições: ambiente natural de Belém-PA (temperatura média de 26,8°C) e nas temperaturas de 6±1°C e 18±2°C negativos. A resposta germinativa dos diásporos armazenados foi comparada com as de diásporos não armazenados. Antecedendo ao armazenamento, efetuou-se seleção nos diásporos descartando-se os de tamanho diminuto. No segundo experimento, considerou-se a resposta germinativa dos diásporos das duas plantas matrizes, armazenados nas condições de ambiente natural de Belém-PA, durante seis meses, e avaliados mensalmente. Observou-se que as estruturas que recobrem as sementes não oferecem restrições à absorção de água, descartando, portanto, a hipótese de dormência física, sem, no entanto, excluir a possibilidade de dormência mecânica. O armazenamento dos diásporos, durante um ano, independentemente da condição de armazenamento, não afetou o poder germinativo das sementes. Por outro lado, respostas de grande magnitude, em termos de redução do tempo requerido para germinação, foram obtidas quando os diásporos foram armazenados nas condições de ambiente natural e a 18±2°C negativos, indicando que a dormência é naturalmente superada pelo armazenamento. A superação da dormência foi mais lenta quando os diásporos foram armazenados a 6±1°C. Constatou-se que o armazenamento dos diásporos nas condições de ambiente natural de Belém, durante três meses, proporciona a superação da dormência da maior parte das sementes. A intensidade da dormência variou dentro e entre plantas matrizes.

Abstract Hog plum tree seeds (Spondias mombin L.) have a complex dormancy mechanism, which causes slow germination and great unevenness. At present, there are no efficient methods to promote seed germination. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of storage on overcoming seed dormancy of this Anacardiaceae. Diaspores of two hog plum trees were used, identified as Mother plant 1 and Mother plant 2, established in Tomé-Açu city, PA. Initially, it was investigated whether the structures surrounding the seeds (internal mesocarp and endocarp) prevent water absorption. For this, the diaspores of the two mother plants were sown between blotting paper, with an adequate level of water and, periodically, in the total of 144 hours, the water content of the seeds was computed. The storage studies involved two experiments. In the first, diaspores from both mother plants with a water content of around 5.0% were stored in impermeable packages, for one year, under the following conditions: natural environment of Belém, PA (average temperature of 26.8 °C) and at temperatures of 6 ± 1 ° C and minus 18 ± 2 °. The germinative response of the stored diaspores was compared with those of non-stored diaspores. Prior to storage, selection was made on the diaspores, discarding the small ones. In the second experiment, the germinative response of the diaspores of the two mother plants, stored for zero, one, two, three, four, five and six months, under natural environment conditions of Belém, PA, was evaluated. It was observed that the structures that cover the seeds do not offer restrictions to the water absorption, thus discarding the hypothesis of physical dormancy, without, however, excluding the possibility of mechanical dormancy. The storage of diaspores for one year, regardless of the storage condition, did not affect the germination power of the seeds. On the other hand, responses of great magnitude, in terms of reducing the time required for germination, were obtained when the diaspores were stored under natural conditions and at minus 18±2 °C, indicating that dormancy is naturally overcome by storage . Overcoming dormancy was a little slower when the diaspores were stored at a temperature of 6±1 °C. It was found that the storage of diaspores in an environment with an average temperature of 26.8 °C for three months provides the overcoming dormancy of most of the seeds. The intensity of dormancy varied within and between mother plants.

Resumo A necromassa é um importante componente da decomposição e ciclagem de nutrientes nos ecossistemas naturais. Nosso objetivo foi avaliar o estoque e perda de necromassa da comunidade e das espécies em um gradiente fitofisionômico de cerrado típico, cerradão e floresta estacional semidecidual, na transição Amazônia-Cerrado. Calculamos, para cada fitofisionomia, o estoque de necromassa, por meio dos diâmetros dos indivíduos mortos em pé em 2005, 2008, 2011 e 2013. Também calculamos a perda de necromassa da comunidade e das espécies por meio dos diâmetros dos indivíduos que permaneceram mortos em pé entre, pelo menos, dois censos (2002-2005; 2005-2008; 2008-2011 ou 2011-2013). O cerrado típico apresentou estoque e perda de necromassa significativamente inferior ao cerradão e à floresta estacional. Ao nível de espécie, a taxa de decomposição de necromassa não apresentou correlação com a densidade da madeira. Maiores estoque e perda de necromassa na floresta estacional em relação ao cerrado típico podem estar relacionados ao maior porte dos indivíduos, que pode propiciar maior cobertura do dossel e microclima mais favorável à ação de organismos decompositores. Dessa forma, características intrínsecas de cada fitofisionomia podem estar relacionadas diretamente ao estoque e perda de necromassa em formações savânicas e florestais da transição Amazônia-Cerrado.

Abstract Necromass is an important component of the decomposition and nutrients cycling in natural ecosystems. Our objective was to evaluate the stock and loss of necromass of the community and of the species in a vegetation gradient of cerrado típico, cerradão and floresta estacional semidecidual, in the Amazônia-Cerrado transition. We estimate, for each vegetation type, the necromass stock, through the diameters of the dead standing trees in 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2013. We also estimate the loss of necromass at both, community and species level, through the diameters of trees who remained standing dead between at least two inventories (2002-2005, 2005-2008, 2008-2011 or 2011-2013). The cerrado típico showed lower stock and loss of necromass than cerradão and floresta estacional. At the species level, there was no relationship between necromass decomposition rates and wood density. The greater stock and loss of necromass in the floresta estacional semidecidual in relation to the cerrado típico can be related to the greater size of the trees, which can provide more canopy cover and favorable microclimate to the action of decomposing organisms. Thus, intrinsic characteristics of each vegetation type may be directly related to the stock and loss of necromass in savanna and forest formations of the Amazônia-Cerrado transition.

ABSTRACT This paper presents a detailed analysis about the implementation of a washout filter on the SIVOR (Simulador de Voo Robótico - Robotic Flight Simulator) project. The main objective of this project is to develop, on an anthropomorphic robot, a flight simulator which can be used as an Engineering Development System (EDS) and a pilot training platform, capable of providing feelings the pilot would only have in more intensive maneuvers, such as losses/gains of G in aircraft flight tests. The SIVOR project also has the objective of providing a cost-efficient and flexible tool that can be used during the design phases of aircrafts. One of the demanded features of such simulator is a representative behavior of its motion system, which is achieved by an adequate implementation of the washout filter. To the best knowledge of the authors, there are no works in the literature that present a detailed discussion about the implementation of a classical washout filter in such flight simulator, especially when the translational channel is used to its limits. Experimental results to support the proposed solutions are presented herein.
