RESUMO Introdução A não comparência às consultas médicas é um problema amplamente reconhecido nos sistemas de saúde, estando associada a diversos fatores. Os exames de saúde do trabalho, apresentam particularidades distintas das consultas médicas de outras especialidades, pelo seu caráter obrigatório, sendo legalmente exigido à entidade empregadora e ao trabalhador. No entanto, apesar dos esforços, mantém-se um número considerável de faltas. Objetivos Compreender as razões subjacentes às ausências aos exames. Metodologia Trata-se de um estudo observacional transversal desenvolvido numa instituição hospitalar pública. Os funcionários do hospital que faltaram no primeiro semestre de 2023 foram contatados em julho do mesmo ano, a fim de realizar um inquérito telefónico, constituído por três questões de escolha múltipla, relacionados com o tema do estudo. Para o tratamento dos dados, foram utilizados os programas Microsoft Excel e SPSS Statistics. Resultados Foi identificado um total de 278 faltas no período supracitado, de um total de 1589 exames de saúde agendados, correspondendo a uma taxa de faltas de 17,5%. Das 212 respostas telefónicas obtidas, os principais motivos da não comparência aos exames de saúde do trabalho foram principalmente doença aguda e férias ou folga, que correspondem a 20,3% das ocorrências (n=43); falta de conhecimento da convocatória ou esta não ter ocorrido atempadamente, representando 19,8% das respostas (n=42); ausência prolongada por doença crónica, gravidez ou licença de parentalidade, compreendendo 17,9% (n=38); impossibilidade de ausência do serviço em 16,5% dos casos (n=35) e esquecimento em cerca de 12,7% (n=27). Além disso, apenas 26,9% dos trabalhadores remarcaram o exame. Cerca de 59,9% da população trabalhadora considera ter conhecimento insuficiente acerca do objetivo e importância dos exames de saúde, bem como as áreas de intervenção da Saúde Ocupacional, mostrando recetividade para uma maior formação nesta área. Conclusão Este estudo proporcionou um conhecimento mais aprofundado dos motivos subjacentes às ausências aos exames de saúde do trabalho, abrindo uma oportunidade de implementação de intervenções direcionadas à minimização deste problema organizacional, cujo impacto sobre a vigilância da saúde dos trabalhadores é substancial.

ABSTRACT Introduction Non-attendance at medical appointments is a widely recognized problem in healthcare systems, and it is associated with various factors. Occupational health examinations have distinct characteristics from medical appointments in other specialties due to their mandatory nature, legally required for both the employer and the employee. However, despite efforts, a considerable number of absences persist. Objectives To understand the underlying reasons for absences from these examinations. Methodology This was a cross-sectional observational study conducted in a public hospital institution. Employees of the hospital who missed their appointments in the first half of 2023 were contacted in July of the same year to conduct a telephone survey consisting of three multiple-choice questions related to the study's theme. Microsoft Excel and SPSS Statistics programs were used for data analysis. Results A total of 278 absences were identified during the aforementioned period out of a total of 1589 scheduled health examinations, resulting in an absenteeism rate of 17.5%. Among the 212 telephone responses obtained, the primary reasons for non-compliance with occupational health examinations were mainly due to absence caused by acute illness, vacation, or time off, accounting for 20.3% of occurrences (n=43); lack of awareness of the appointment or it not occurring in a timely manner, representing 19.8% of responses (n=42); prolonged absence due to chronic illness, pregnancy, or parental leave, comprising 17.9% (n=38); inability to be absent from work in 16.5% of cases (n=35), and forgetfulness in approximately 12.7% (n=27). Additionally, only 26.9% of the workers rescheduled their health examination. Approximately 59.9% of the working population considers themselves insufficiently informed about the purpose and importance of health examinations, as well as the areas of Occupational Health intervention, showing receptiveness to further training in this area. Conclusion This study provided a deeper understanding of the underlying reasons for absences from occupational health examinations, opening an opportunity for the implementation of interventions aimed at minimizing this organizational problem, which has a substantial impact on the surveillance of workers' health.

BACKGROUND In 2022, an outbreak of mpox that started in European countries spread worldwide through human-to-human transmission. Cases have been mostly mild, but severe clinical presentations have been reported. In these cases, tecovirimat has been the drug of choice to treat patients with aggravated disease. OBJECTIVES Here we investigated the tecovirimat susceptibility of 18 clinical isolates of monkeypox virus (MPXV) obtained from different regions of Brazil. METHODS Different concentrations of tecovirimat were added to cell monolayers infected with each MPXV isolate. After 72 hours, cells were fixed and stained for plaque visualization, counting, and measurement. The ortholog of F13L gene from each MPXV isolate was polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-amplified, sequenced, and the predicted protein sequences were analyzed. FINDINGS The eighteen MPXV isolates generated plaques of different sizes. Although all isolates were highly sensitive to the drug, two showed different response curves and IC50 values. However, the target protein of tecovirimat, F13 (VP37), was 100% conserved in all MPXV isolates and therefore does not explain the difference in sensitivity. MAIN CONCLUSIONS Our results support screening different MPXV isolates for tecovirimat susceptibility as an important tool to better use of the restricted number of tecovirimat doses available in low-income countries to treat patients with mpox.

ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the Social Representations of pregnant women about high-risk pregnancy and its repercussions for prenatal care. Method: Qualitative study, based on the procedural aspect of the Theory of Social Representations, carried out with 62 high-risk prenatal pregnant women at a High Complexity Maternity, in Belém, PA, Brazil. Data from semi-structured interviews were processed by the software Interface de R pour les Analyzes Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires. Results: Four categories emerged, in which three dimensions of the Theory composing the genesis of Social Representations are considered: the affective dimension, the biological dimension and the sociocultural dimension. Conclusion: Affects, negative feelings, and adaptations were revealed, with high-risk pregnancy being represented as an unusual and uncomfortable event, influenced by common sense and science, communication means, and dialogues with health professionals, with family support being considered of paramount importance. and prenatal care a propitious moment for establishing bonds with the health professional, seen as essential for their adherence to the care offered.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Analizar las Representaciones Sociales de gestantes sobre el embarazo de alto riesgo y sus repercusiones para el prenatal. Método: Estudio cualitativo, basado en el aspecto procedimental de la Teoría de las Representaciones Sociales, realizado con 62 gestantes en la atención prenatal de alto riesgo en una Maternidad de Alta Complejidad, en Belém, PA, Brasil. Los datos de las entrevistas semiestructuradas fueron procesados por el software Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires. Resultados: Surgieron cuatro categorías, en las que se consideraron tres dimensiones de la Teoría que compusieran la génesis de las Representaciones Sociales, a saber: la dimensión afectiva, la dimensión biológica y la dimensión sociocultural. Conclusión: Se revelaron afectos, sentimientos negativos y adaptaciones, representando el embarazo de alto riesgo como un evento insólito e incómodo, influenciado por el sentido común y la ciencia, los medios de comunicación y diálogos con profesionales de la salud, considerándose de suma importancia el apoyo familiar y el control prenatal, un momento propicio para establecer vínculos con el profesional de la salud, visto como fundamental para su adhesión a los cuidados ofrecidos.

RESUMO Objetivo: Analisar as Representações Sociais de mulheres grávidas sobre a gestação de alto risco e suas repercussões para assistência pré-natal. Método: Estudo qualitativo, pautado na vertente processual da Teoria das Representações Sociais, realizado com 62 gestantes do pré-natal de alto risco de uma Maternidade de Alta Complexidade, em Belém, PA, Brasil. Os dados das entrevistas semiestruturadas foram processados pelo software Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires. Resultados: Emergiram quatro categorias, nas quais consideram-se três dimensões da Teoria que compuseram a gênese das Representações Sociais, quais sejam: a dimensão afetiva, a dimensão biológica e a dimensão sociocultural. Conclusão: Desvelaram-se afetos, sentimentos negativos e adaptações, representando-se a gestação de alto risco como evento inusitado e desconfortável, influenciado pelo senso comum e ciência, meios de comunicação e diálogos com os profissionais de saúde, sendo o suporte familiar considerado de suma importância e o pré-natal um momento propício para estabelecimento de vínculos com o profissional de saúde, visto como fundamental para sua adesão aos cuidados ofertados.

Abstract Background At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, patients with myocardial infarction (MI) took longer to present to hospitals because of fear of contamination and health care access difficulties. Objectives To assess interventional cardiology procedures performed during the COVID-19 pandemic and its implications for MI approach. Methods Prospective registry of 24 cardiac catheterization laboratories in Brazil, with adult patients undergoing interventional cardiology procedures between May 26 and November 30, 2020. The outcomes were cardiovascular (CV) and non-CV complications, death, and MI. Concomitant COVID-19 was confirmed using RT-PCR. Machine learning techniques were used with nonparametric Classification Trees models, and Simple Correspondence Analysis, with R statistical software package. Significance level adopted of 5%. Results This study included 1282 patients, 435 of whom (33.9%) had MI as follows: ST-segment elevation MI (STEMI), 239 (54.9%); and non-ST-segment elevation MI (NSTEMI), 196 (45.1%). Of the 1282 patients, 29 had CV complications, 47 had non-CV complications, and 31 died. The diagnosis of COVID-19 was confirmed in 77 patients (6%), with 15.58% mortality and non-CV complications in 6.49%. Most patients had significant coronary artery disease (63%), and an intracoronary thrombus was more often found in the presence of STEMI (3.4%) and COVID-19 (4%). A door-to-table time longer than 12 hours in NSTEMI was associated with 30.8% of complications, 25% in COVID-19 patients. Conclusions All deaths were preceded by CV or non-CV complications. The presence of COVID-19 was associated with death and non-fatal complications of patients undergoing interventional cardiology procedures during the pandemic.

Resumo Fundamento No início da pandemia de COVID-19, os pacientes com infarto do miocárdio (IM) demoraram para procurar um hospital por medo de contágio ou dificuldades no acesso aos serviços de saúde. Objetivos Avaliar procedimentos de cardiologia intervencionista realizados durante a pandemia de COVID-19 e implicações na abordagem do IM. Métodos Registro prospectivo de 24 centros de hemodinâmica no Brasil, com pacientes adultos submetidos a procedimentos de cardiologia intervencionista entre 26 de maio e 30 de novembro de 2020. Os desfechos foram complicações cardiovasculares (CV) e não CV, morte e IM. A concomitância de COVID-19 foi confirmada com RT-PCR. Técnicas de machine learning foram usadas com modelos não paramétricos de árvores de classificação. Usou-se análise de correspondência simples com o software R. Adotou-se nível de significância de 5%. Resultados Este estudo incluiu 1.282 pacientes, 435 dos quais (33,9%) apresentaram IM: IM com supra de ST (IMCSST), 239 (54,9%); e IM sem supra de ST(IMSSST), 196 (45.1%). Dos 1.282 pacientes, 29 tiveram complicações CV, 47 tiveram complicações não CV e 31 morreram. O diagnóstico de COVID-19 foi confirmado em 77 pacientes (6%), com 15,58% de mortalidade e 6,49% de complicações não CV. A maioria dos pacientes apresentou significativa doença arterial coronariana (63%). Trombo intracoronariano foi mais frequente na presença de IMCSST (3,4%) e COVID-19 (4%). Tempo porta-mesa superior a 12 horas no IMSSST associou-se a 30,8% de complicações, 25% em pacientes com COVID-19. Conclusões Todos os óbitos foram precedidos por complicações CV ou não CV. A presença de COVID-19 foi associada a óbito e complicações não fatais dos pacientes submetidos a procedimentos de cardiologia intervencionista durante a pandemia.

Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the association between chronic Anaplasma marginale and Babesia spp. infection and hematological parameters of pregnant and non-pregnant taurine heifers. Blood samples from 94 females were collected on the first day (D-10) of timed artificial insemination (TAI) protocol and on pregnancy diagnosis (D+34). Hematological parameters were determined and compared between pregnant (PG) and non-pregnant (NPG) heifers, and within group at different sampling days. Real-time PCR (qPCR) was used to determine A. marginale and Babesia bovis infection, and for absolute quantification of Babesia spp. between PG and NPG groups. Correlation analysis was performed between the number of gDNA copies (CN) of Babesia spp. and hematological parameters. On D-10, mean hemoglobin concentration was higher for NPG, and hematocrit and total plasma protein were higher on D+34 for both groups. There was no difference in Babesia spp. CN between groups. In the first qPCR, all heifers were positive for A. marginale and B. bovis. Significant correlations were found between hemoglobin and erythrocyte and between hemoglobin and hematocrit (r = 0.8082 and r = 0.3009, respectively). Low levels of A. marginale and Babesia spp. did not affect hematological parameters of chronically infected pregnant and non-pregnant taurine heifers.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar a associação entre infecção crônica por Anaplasma marginale e Babesia spp. e parâmetros hematológicos de novilhas taurinas prenhes e não prenhes. Sangue de 94 fêmeas foi coletado no primeiro dia (D-10) do protocolo de inseminação artificial em tempo fixo (IATF) e no diagnóstico de gestação (D+34). Parâmetros hematológicos foram comparados entre novilhas prenhes (PG) e não prenhes (NPG) e dentro dos grupos entre dias de coleta. Usando-se PCR em tempo real (qPCR), determinou-se a infecção por A. marginale e Babesia bovis e quantificação absoluta de Babesia spp. Entre os grupos PG e NPG. A análise de correlação foi realizada entre o número de cópias (CN) de Babesia spp. e parâmetros hematológicos. No D-10, a concentração de hemoglobina foi maior para NPG e hematócrito, e proteína plasmática total foram maiores em D+34 para ambos os grupos. Não houve diferença para CN de Babesia spp. entre os grupos. Na primeira qPCR, todas as novilhas foram positivas para A. marginale e B. bovis. Correlações significativas foram encontradas entre hemoglobina/eritrócito e hemoglobina/hematócrito (r=0,8082 e r=0,3009, respectivamente). Baixos níveis de A. marginale e Babesia spp. não afetaram os parâmetros hematológicos de novilhas taurinas prenhes e não prenhes cronicamente infectadas.

ABSTRACT Objective: To describe feelings, challenges and strategies related to the continuity of breastfeeding after returning to work in the perception of lactating nurses. Method: Descriptive, exploratory, qualitative study, with snowball sampling. Data collection occurred virtually between August and September 2020 in the State of Rio de Janeiro. Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires software and a thematic analysis were used. Results: 42 breastfeeding nurses participated and cited fear, missing the child, anguish, and pleasure in returning to work. Challenges such as lack of infrastructure for pumping the breast in health services, unfavorable scales, and multiple jobs were reported. Support networks, listening spaces, and appropriate times and places for breast milk pumping were mentioned as strategies. Conclusion: Different feelings and challenges for the continuity of breastfeeding upon returning to work were identified; some strategies found were common to other working women while others related to the specific nursing work context.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Describir sentimientos, desafíos y estrategias relacionados con la lactancia materna al regresar al trabajo, según la percepción de enfermeras lactantes. Método: Estudio descriptivo, exploratorio y cualitativo con muestreo de bola de nieve. La recolección de datos se llevó a cabo virtualmente entre agosto y septiembre de 2020 en el estado de Río de Janeiro. Se utilizaron el software IRAMUTEQ y una Revisión Temática. Resultados: Participaron 42 enfermeras lactantes que mencionaron sentimientos como miedo, nostalgia, angustia y placer al volver al trabajo. Los desafíos incluyeron falta de infraestructura para extracción de leche en los servicios de salud, horarios desfavorables y múltiples compromisos. Estrategias mencionadas incluyeron redes de apoyo, espacios de escucha y momentos y lugares adecuados para la extracción de leche. Conclusión: Se identificaron diferentes sentimientos y desafíos relacionados con la lactancia materna al regresar al trabajo, con estrategias comunes a otras mujeres trabajadoras y otras específicas del contexto de enfermería.

RESUMO Objetivo: Descrever sentimentos, desafios e estratégias relacionados à continuidade do aleitamento materno no retorno ao trabalho na percepção de enfermeiras nutrizes. Método: Estudo descritivo, exploratório, qualitativo, com amostragem por bola de neve. A coleta de dados ocorreu virtualmente entre agosto e setembro de 2020 no Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Utilizou-se o software Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires e a Análise Temática. Resultados: Participaram 42 enfermeiras que citaram medo, saudade, angústia e prazer no retorno ao trabalho. Foram relatados desafios como falta de infraestrutura para ordenha nos serviços de saúde, escalas desfavoráveis e múltiplos vínculos. Foram mencionadas como estratégias redes de apoio, espaços de escuta, horários e locais adequados para ordenha. Conclusão: Foram identificados distintos sentimentos e desafios para a continuidade da amamentação no retorno ao trabalho; algumas estratégias encontradas foram comuns às mulheres trabalhadoras e outras relacionadas ao contexto laboral da enfermagem.

Abstract It examines the quantitative expansion of stricto sensu graduate studies in the area of education in Brazil, based on the student dimension of its programs, considering their regional differences, type of course, and legal status. The quantitative approach and the documentary research method composed the methodological design of the investigation. The sample consisted of the total number of students in the course, admitted students, and graduated students in Graduate Programs in Education (GPEs), from 2004 to 2020. The data sets referring to the students were collected in the open data repository of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES, in Portuguese). Data analysis used descriptive statistics techniques, through the R language. There was an increase in the number of students in the courses, admitted students, and graduated students in GPEs in Brazil during the investigated period. The asymmetries, although still existing, were mitigated. The North and Northeast regions are still underrepresented. The participation of the private sector is still timid, if compared to the hegemony of the public sector, even when it comes to professional master’s degrees. In 2020 there was a decrease in all indicators, characterizing an inflection in the expansion process. These results are likely to contribute to support decision-making by managers and public policy makers.

Resumo Examina a expansão quantitativa da pós-graduação stricto sensu na área de educação no Brasil, com esteio na dimensão discente de seus programas, ponderando suas diferenças regionais, de tipo de curso e de estatuto jurídico. A abordagem quantitativa e o método da pesquisa documental compuseram o desenho metodológico da investigação. A amostra se constituiu do total de estudantes do curso, de admitidos e de titulados em Programas de Pós-Graduação em Educação (PPGEs), de 2004 a 2020. Os datasets referentes aos estudantes foram coletados no repositório de dados abertos da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES). A análise dos dados empregou técnicas da estatística descritiva, por meio da linguagem R. Houve aumento no número de discentes, admitidos e titulados em PPGEs no Brasil, durante o período investigado. As assimetrias, apesar de ainda existentes, foram mitigadas. Norte e Nordeste ainda são regiões que se encontram sub-representadas. A participação do setor privado ainda é tímida, se comparada à hegemonia do setor público, mesmo nos mestrados profissionais. No ano de 2020, registrou-se diminuição em todos os indicadores, caracterizando uma inflexão no processo de expansão. Esses resultados são passíveis de contribuir para subsidiar a tomada de decisão dos gestores e formuladores de políticas públicas.

Resumo Objetivo analisar a influência do retorno ao trabalho de mães trabalhadoras da enfermagem no aleitamento materno. Método pesquisa qualitativa, desenvolvida por meio de formulário semiestruturado, via Google Forms, junto a 49 trabalhadoras de enfermagem do estado do Rio de Janeiro. Os dados foram submetidos à análise lexicográfica, com auxílio do software Interface de R pour Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes Et de Questionnaires (IRAMUTEQ), pelo método de Nuvem de Palavras e Classificação Hierárquica Descendente. Resultados o aproveitamento do corpus textual foi de 88,24%, gerando quatro classes de segmentos de texto. As principais influências do retorno ao trabalho na amamentação relatadas pelas participantes foram: a falta de apoio dos chefes e colegas de trabalho, a necessidade de local e tempo adequados para ordenha do leite materno, a diminuição na produção de leite por fatores inerentes ao trabalho e sobrecarga e ambientes insalubres de trabalho na enfermagem. Conclusão e implicações para a prática a identificação desses fatores possibilita a compreensão das demandas das nutrizes participantes e aponta para a necessidade de estratégias inovadoras, que garantam o direito das trabalhadoras, assim como adequações de infraestrutura em seus ambientes laborais.

Abstract Objective to analyze the influences of returning to work on maternal breastfeeding in mothers who are Nursing workers. Method a qualitative research developed through a semi-structured form, using Google Forms, with 49 female Nursing workers in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The data were submitted to lexicographic analysis, with the aid of the Interface de R pour Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes Et de Questionnaires (IRAMUTEQ) software, by the Word Cloud and Descending Hierarchical Classification methods. Results leverage of the text corpus was 88.24%, generating four classes of text segments. The main influences of returning to work on breastfeeding reported by the participants were as follows: lack of support from the management and coworkers, need for an adequate place and time for milking breast milk and decrease in milk production due to factors inherent to the work, in addition to overload and unhealthy working environments in Nursing. Conclusion and implications for the practice the identification of these factors enables understanding the demands of the participating nursing mothers and points to the need for innovative strategies, which guarantee the workers' rights, as well as infrastructure adaptations in their work environments.

Resumen Objetivo analizar la influencia de la reincorporación al trabajo sobre la lactancia materna de madres lactantes trabajadoras de enfermería. Método investigación cualitativa, desarrollada a través de un formulario semiestructurado, con utilización de Google Forms, con 49 trabajadoras de enfermería en el estado de Río de Janeiro. Los datos fueron sometidos a análisis lexicográfico, con el auxilio del software Interface de R pour Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes Et de Questionnaires (IRAMUTEQ), por los métodos de Nube de Palabras y Clasificación Jerárquica Descendente. Resultados el aprovechamiento del corpus textual fue del 88,24%, y se generaron cuatro clases de segmentos textuales. Las principales influencias de la reincorporación al trabajo sobre la lactancia materna señaladas por las participantes fueron: falta de apoyo de jefes y compañeros, necesidad de disponer de lugar y tiempo adecuados para el ordeñe de la leche materna, disminución de la producción de leche por factores inherentes al trabajo y sobrecarga e insalubridad de los ambientes de trabajo en enfermería. Conclusión e implicaciones para la práctica la identificación de estos factores permite comprender las demandas de las madres lactantes participantes y señala la necesidad de adoptar estrategias innovadoras, que garanticen los derechos de las trabajadoras, además de adaptaciones de infraestructura en sus ambientes de trabajo.

Abstract There are still numerous challenges to be overcome in microarray data analysis because advanced, state-of-the-art analyses are restricted to programming users. Here we present the Gene Expression Analysis Platform, a versatile, customizable, optimized, and portable software developed for microarray analysis. GEAP was developed in C# for the graphical user interface, data querying, storage, results filtering and dynamic plotting, and R for data processing, quality analysis, and differential expression. Through a new automated system that identifies microarray file formats, retrieves contents, detects file corruption, and solves dependencies, GEAP deals with datasets independently of platform. GEAP covers 32 statistical options, supports quality assessment, differential expression from single and dual-channel experiments, and gene ontology. Users can explore results by different plots and filtering options. Finally, the entire data can be saved and organized through storage features, optimized for memory and data retrieval, with faster performance than R. These features, along with other new options, are not yet present in any microarray analysis software. GEAP accomplishes data analysis in a faster, straightforward, and friendlier way than other similar software, while keeping the flexibility for sophisticated procedures. By developing optimizations, unique customizations and new features, GEAP is destined for both advanced and non-programming users.

RESUMO Objetivos: analisar a atuação dos enfermeiros em casos suspeitos ou confirmados de violência contra crianças e adolescentes na Atenção Primária à Saúde. Métodos: pesquisa analítica, com abordagem qualitativa. Participaram do estudo 30 enfermeiros, sendo coletados os dados por meio de formulário individual e entrevista semiestruturada. Os dados receberam análise lexicográfica do software IRaMuTeQ (Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires) organizada pela análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Resultados: emergiram cinco categorias, nas quais foi possível considerar que a abordagem dos enfermeiros em casos de violência se pautou na identificação da violência pelo exame físico nas consultas de enfermagem, ações de promoção da saúde no ambiente escolar, requisição de suporte da equipe multiprofissional e transferência de responsabilidades. Considerações Finais: infere-se que a fragilidade na formação profissional do enfermeiro para abordagem de situações de violência contra crianças e adolescentes produz déficits de atenção integral às vítimas.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze the role of nurses in suspected or confirmed cases of violence against children and adolescents in Primary Health Care. Methods: an analytical research, with a qualitative approach. Thirty nurses participated in the study, and data were collected by means of an individual form and a semi-structured interview. The data received lexicographic analysis by the software IRaMuTeQ (Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires) organized by Bardin’s content analysis. Results: five categories emerged, in which it was possible to consider that the nurses’ approach in cases of violence was based on the identification of violence through physical examination during nursing consultations, health promotion actions in the school environment, request for support from the multi-professional team, and transfer of responsibilities. Final Considerations: it is inferred that the fragility in the professional training of nurses to address situations of violence against children and adolescents produces deficits in comprehensive care for victims.

RESUMEN Objetivos: analizar actuación de enfermeros en casos sospechosos o confirmados de violencia contra niños y adolescentes en la Atención Primaria de Salud. Métodos: investigación analítica, con abordaje cualitativo. Participaron del estudio 30 enfermeros, siendo recolectados los datos por medio de formulario individual y entrevista semiestructurada. Los datos recibieron análisis lexicográfico del software IraMuTeQ (Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires) organizado por el análisis de contenido de Bardin. Resultados: emergieron cinco categorías, en las cuales fue posible considerar que el abordaje de los enfermeros en casos de violencia se pautó en la identificación de la violencia por el examen físico en las consultas de enfermería, acciones de promoción de la salud en el ambiente escolar, requisición de soporte de la equipe multiprofesional y transferencia de responsabilidades. RESUMO Com o objetivo de analisar a comercialização de agrotóxicos no Brasil, suas regiões e estados, desenvolveu-se um estudo ecológico de série temporal no período de 2000 a 2014. Foram utilizados os dados sobre vendas de agrotóxicos do Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis e do Sindicato Nacional da Indústria de Produtos para Defesa Vegetal. A comercialização de agrotóxicos foi calculada como o quociente da quantidade de ingredientes ativos, em quilogramas, e a área plantada das principais lavouras, em hectares, anualmente, nos estados e regiões. Os programas Excel® e R foram utilizados para processamento e análise dos dados. Para análise de tendência, utilizou-se a regressão linear com nível de significância de 5%. Observou-se tendência à elevação da comercialização em todas as regiões do País no período (p<0,001), com o maior registro no Sudeste (4,88 kg/ha/ano); e o maior incremento nas regiões Norte e Nordeste. As maiores médias de vendas, em kg/ha/ano, ocorreram em São Paulo (8,43), Goiás (5,34) e Mato Grosso (4,92). O maior incremento de vendas por estado no período ocorreu no Acre (99,52%), Piauí (94,19%) e Distrito Federal (91,55%). Tornam-se imperativas medidas de regulação, fiscalização e normatização contra o agravamento da situação de saúde da população e contaminação do ambiente.

The biggest increase in sales by state occurred in Acre (99.52%), Piauí (94.19%), and Distrito Federal (91.55%). Regulatory, inspection, and standardization measures against the worsening of the population’s health situation and contamination of the environment are imperative.

RESUMO Introdução O tratamento do câncer em fim de vida está associado a custos substanciais em saúde. Objetivo O objetivo do estudo foi analisar o custo do tratamento cirúrgico de pacientes com metástase espinhal e compressão peridural submetidos ao tratamento cirúrgico. Métodos Uma análise retrospectiva de custos de 81 pacientes com metástase espinhal e compressão peridural submetidos a tratamento cirúrgico. A avaliação de custos foi definida nas seguintes categorias: medicamentos, exames laboratoriais e de imagem, enfermaria, sala de recuperação, unidade de terapia intensiva, procedimento cirúrgico e material consignado. O custo relacionado à melhora da dor, atividade funcional e sobrevida também foi avaliado. Resultados O custo total do tratamento cirúrgico de 81 pacientes foi de R $ 3.604.334,26 e o valor médio de cada paciente foi de R $ 44.497,95. Os maiores gastos foram relacionados com implantes (41,1%), seguidos de internação (27,3%) e procedimento cirúrgico (19,7%). Conclusão O custo do tratamento cirúrgico para metástases espinhais é um dos mais caros entre as complicações ósseas em pacientes com câncer. O custo do tratamento relacionado aos desfechos apresentou diferença de acordo com o desfecho analisado e a permanência hospitalar, exames, medicamentos e terapia intensiva tem papel importante em alguns dos custos relacionados ao desfecho específico. ABSTRACT Introduction End-of-life cancer treatment is associated with substantial healthcare costs. Objective This study aimed to analyze the surgical treatment cost of spinal metastasis and epidural compression patients undergoing surgical treatment. Methods A retrospective cost analysis of 81 patients with spinal metastasis and epidural compression undergoing surgical treatment. Cost evaluation was defined in the following categories: medications, laboratory and imaging tests, nursery, recovery room, intensive care unit, surgical procedure, and consigned material. The cost of pain improvement, functional activity, and survival was also evaluated. Results The total cost of surgical treatment for 81 patients was $3,604,334.26, and the average value for each patient was $44,497.95. The highest costs were related to implants (41.1%), followed by hospitalization (27.3%) and surgical procedure (19.7%). Conclusion The cost of surgical treatment for spinal metastases is one of the most expensive bone complications in cancer patients. The cost of treatment related to outcomes showed differences according to the outcome analyzed. Hospital stay, tests, drugs, and intensive care play an important role in some of the costs related to the specific outcome. Level of Evidence II, Retrospective Study.

Abstract Evaluate texture in relation to the hardness, fracturability, cohesiveness, elasticity and chewiness parameters of Brazil nut kernels stored in different packagings over time of 240 days. The experimental compression tests were conducted in 15 kernels for each treatment using a texturometer equipped with a load cell of 25 kg. The following parameters were used: pre-test speed: 2.0 mm s-1; test speed: 0.50 mm s-1 and post-test speed: 0.50 mm s-1; 10% compression and rest period of 2 s between the two cycles; initial load of 7 g; and data acquisition rate of 10 points per second. The data were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by the Scott-Knott test at 5% significance level, using R software. Storage time interfered in the moisture content, leading to the highest value initially, 4.03% w.b., and lowest value at 120 days, with an average of 2.705% w.b. The hardness values of the kernels stored in the polypropylene packaging remained the same throughout storage. The different packagings and storage times had no influence on the fracturability parameter. Polypropylene and vacuum packaging did not influence the elasticity of kernels throughout storage. Cohesiveness and chewiness showed differences between the packagings and between the storage periods.

Abstract The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of hybrids and the heterosis in crosses of sweet sorghum using juicy sweet male-sterile lines and fertility-restoring lines with and without sensitivity to photoperiod. Thirty hybrids and six controls were evaluated in experiments laid out in a 6 × 6 triple lattice design. The genotypes differed for all traits. The general combining ability (GCA) of the R lines affected all traits, while the GCA of the A lines only affected juice extraction, total soluble solids, and tons of Brix per hectare (TBH). The photosensitive-restoring line CMSXS5022 had the highest positive GCA estimates for the fresh mass production and TBH traits. Heterosis was significant only for days to flowering and plant height. Overall, the photoperiod-sensitive hybrids stood out. The development of male-sterile lines requires better complementarity from restoring lines to reap the benefits of heterosis.
