Introdução: A Doença Hepática Esteatótica Associada à Disfunção Metabólica (MASLD) é a doença hepática crônica mais prevalente no mundo e foi recentemente renomeada para enfatizar seu componente metabólico. Este artigo busca preencher a lacuna de diretrizes específicas para pacientes portadores de obesidade e MASLD que irão ser submetidos à cirurgia bariátrica. Método: Foi realizado uma busca sistemática por guidelines nas plataformas PubMed e Embase. Resultados: Foram encontrados 544 artigos, dos quais 11 foram selecionados conforme critérios de inclusão/exclusão. Todos os 11 guidelines são de sociedades clínicas, portanto, não contemplam algumas interpretações necessárias para o paciente bariátrico. Conclusões: Recomendamos que seja feito o rastreio de todo paciente que será submetido a cirurgia bariátrica e metabólica inicialmente com o score Fibrosis-4 (FIB-4), seguido da elastografia hepática transitória (Vibration-controlled Transient Elastography - VCTE), principalmente para aqueles com FIB4> 1,3. No entanto, a interpretação dos resultados do VCTE em pacientes obesos necessita de mais estudos para delimitar os reais valores de cortes. O Enhanced Liver Fibrosis® (ELF®) mostra-se promissor, mas sua disponibilidade é limitada. A indicação da biópsia hepática durante a cirurgia, precisa ser individualizada, porém é recomendada para aqueles com alteração do FIB4 e/ou da VCTE. O rastreio familiar é recomendado para parentes de pacientes jovens já com fibrose avançada. O transplante hepático é uma opção para pacientes com MASLD avançada, mas o momento ideal para a cirurgia bariátrica em relação ao transplante ainda não está claro. O acompanhamento regular e o exame VCTE são recomendados para monitorar a progressão da doença após a cirurgia.

Introduction: Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) is the most prevalent chronic liver disease in the world and has recently been renamed to emphasize its metabolic component. This article seeks to fill the gap in specific guidelines for patients with obesity and MASLD who will undergo bariatric surgery. Methods: A systematic search for guidelines was carried out on the PubMed and Embase platforms. Results: Were found 544 articles, of which 11 were selected according to inclusion/exclusion criteria. All 11 guidelines are from clinical societies and therefore do not include some necessary interpretations for bariatric patients. Conclusions: We recommend that every patient undergoing bariatric and metabolic surgery be screened initially with the Fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) score, followed by transient hepatic elastography (Vibration-controlled Transient Elastography - VCTE), especially for those with FIB4 > 1.3. However, the interpretation of VCTE results in obese patients requires further studies to define the real cutoff values. Enhanced Liver Fibrosis® (ELF®) shows promise, but its availability is limited. The indication for liver biopsy during surgery needs to be individualized but is recommended for those with changes in FIB4 and/or VCTE. Family screening is recommended for relatives of young patients with advanced fibrosis. Liver transplantation is an option for patients with advanced MASLD, but the optimal timing for bariatric surgery in relation to transplantation is still unclear. Regular follow-up and VCTE examination are recommended to monitor disease progression after surgery.

ABSTRACT The characterization of cut flowers plays a significant role in detecting senescence signals, which are essential for establishing quality parameters and guiding the development of postharvest technologies. This study aimed to morphologically characterize Red Torch Ginger inflorescences at three harvest points: fully closed, semi-open, and fully open. The inflorescences were standardized at 60 cm, and their width, length, diameter, and fresh weight were measured. Inflorescences were evaluated for visual senescence, wettability, natural wax content, and fluid behavior. Dominant color, gloss, and texture were analyzed using GroundEye. Morphological differences affected the postharvest durability of Red Torch Ginger, with fully open inflorescences being less durable than semi-open and fully closed ones. Hydrophobicity, high-fluid movement, and natural wax content were crucial for decision-making regarding the application of new postharvest technologies and coatings in cut tropical flowers. ABSTRACT Orbital decompression is widely performed for the management of proptosis for cosmetic and functional cases of Graves orbitopathy. Abstract In the microregion of the Canastra/MG/Brazil, with the growth and recognition of artisanal cheeses, producers have gradually inserted in the market cheeses that differ from the traditional ones. This study aimed to map, identify, and characterize the production sites of the varieties of artisanal Minas cheeses of the Canastra microregion. Data were collected from Canastra cheese producers who were producing artisanal Canastra cheeses with modifications to the original recipe, which we characterize as new varieties of artisanal Canastra cheese. Geographic coordinates and primary property data were collected. Questionnaires were applied to cheese producers through semi-structured interviews and milk samples analysed. The new varieties of cheese were described and photographed. Regarding the diversity of cheeses produced, we found that moldy cheeses were produced in Medeiros (31.25%), São Roque (43.75%), Bambuí (6.25%), Delfinópolis (6.25%) and Tapiraí (12.5%). Medeiros and São Roque also produced the cheeses “Merendeirinho” and “Canastrão”, which differ from the traditional in size. In Medeiros and São Roque, we also found seasoned Merendeirinho cheese, other seasoned cheeses, and cheeses cured in wine and coffee. And only Medeiros produced a cheese cured in beer. We found that in São Roque, Delfinópolis, and Tapiraí, the production of these cheeses is continuous. In the geographical demarcation of artisanal Canastra cheese manufacturing, the cities of São Roque and Medeiros stand out, due to the diversity of varieties of traditional cheese and the number of producers. ABSTRACT The seeds and seedlings morphological differentiation is a challenge in the early stages of plant growth. This study aims to describe the physical and morphological characteristics of seeds and seedlings of Jatropha mollissima to delimit differences between other species from the same genus. The seeds were placed to germinate for morphological description and their physical characteristics were measured. The J. mollissima presented a 1000-seed weight of 332 g, 3,008 seeds per kilogram, 6.7% of moisture, 1.29 cm length, 0.84 cm width, and 0.66 cm thickness. We verified that the seeds are oval in shape; their colour is dark brown, greyish or mixed colour; they have visible raphe and hilum, and caruncle with beige coloration. The endosperm is oleaginous and involves the embryo with foliaceous and spatulate cotyledons. The embryo is axial, and the hypocotyl-radicle axis has a short cylindrical shape. Germination is epigeal and phanerocotyledonary; leaves have dimorphism and serrated margins with simple trichomes; and their apex is cuspidate or attenuated. Our research demonstrates that it is possible to differentiate J. mollissima from other species of the same genus through morphological characteristics. ABSTRACT Management of Quilombola systems are primitive agricultural systems based on the ancestral knowledge of Afro-Brazilian enslaved people. Here, the aim was to understand the impact of these primitive farming methods on the distribution of available nitrogen (N) forms in the soil profile of two Brazilian Cerrado phytophysiognomies. The soil was sampled in Cerradão (high Cerrado) and Cerrado Stricto sensu (low Cerrado) at six soil depths (0-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, and 50-60 cm). The following management systems were considered: pasture (PP1 and PP2), maize cultivation (M1 and M2), citrus-cassava intercropping (T1), and citrus monoculture (T2). In addition, the soil was sampled in the native area of Cerradão (NC1) and Cerrado Stricto sensu (NC2). Three N forms were determined: i) available nitrogen (Av-N), ii) ammonium (NH4+-N) and iii) nitrate (NO3–-N) contents. The Av-N content decreased with increasing soil depth only in NC1 and NC2. The NO3–-N content was similar at all soil depths for maize and pasture, while the content decreased at soil depth for NC1, NC2, and T1. NH4+-N was similar in M2 and PP2, but it increased in T2, ranging from 6.17 mg kg–1 to 17.54 mg kg–1. Overall, the dynamics of available N forms varied according to the Cerrado phytophysiognomy and the management systems and NO3–-N was the most constant N form in the soil profile. RESUMO Objetivo: compreender os desafios para a gestão do trabalho e do cuidado em centros de parto normal por enfermeiras obstétricas. Método: estudo qualitativo realizado em centros de parto normal no Ceará, Brasil. Participaram 13 enfermeiros e coordenadores da assistência obstétrica, por entrevista, no período de abril a julho de 2020. ABSTRACT Objective: To understand obstetric nurses’ challenges in managing work and care in normal birth centers. Method: A qualitative study was carried out in normal birth centers in Ceará, Brazil. Thirteen nurses and obstetric care coordinators were interviewed between April and July 2020. The thematic categories were organized in Nvivo 12 Pro® software and discussed using the theoretical-philosophical framework of the Sociology of Professions. Results: care practices, such as comfort massages, are carried out in conjunction with elements of work management, such as the sizing of the nursing team. It emerged that there are important skills for acting as autonomy and leadership of the nursing team, but elements such as fragile trust and interaction limit the full development of activities. The aim of this study was to analyze and describe the perceptions of patients and family health team staff regarding the role of health groups as a strategy for promoting mental health in primary health care (PHC). We conducted an exploratory descriptive study in a primary care center in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. The data were analyzed using content analysis, resulting in the emergence of five categories: 1) Patient and community-centered PHC; 2) Welcoming and building bonds; 3) The effective implementation of mental health promotion in community and territorial services; 4) Mental health care: building pathways; and 5) Working in networks: an expectation. ABSTRACT Bacteria of genus Bradyrhisobium form a symbiotic relationship with legumes, promoting biological nitrogen fixation (BNF). However, their effect on the biological control of disease has not been investigated. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of four strains of Bradyrhisobium spp., namely SEMIA 5080, SEMIA 5079, SEMIA 5019 and SEMIA 587, on the in-vitro control of four soil phytopathogens: Fusarium crassistipitatum, Macrophomina phaseolina, Rhisoctonia solani and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, which cause root rot in the soybean. All the strains of Bradyrhisobium spp. and of the phytopathogens were obtained from Embrapa Soja in Londrina, Paraná. In-vitro tests were conducted using the circle method (adapted), and comparing soybean seeds inoculated with the bacteria and the phytopathogens. The dishes subjected to the circle test were evaluated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Two tests of antibiosis were conducted using filtrates of metabolites from Bradyrhisobium spp.: assessment of the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and of the antibiosis in Petri® dishes. The results were submitted to the Lilliefors test of normality, followed by ANOVA and regression analysis using the Genes software. Abstract: The identification of seeds from native species is a complex assessment due to the high Brazilian biodiversity and varied characteristics between species. The objective was to apply different machine learning classifiers associated with image analysis to identify seeds of forest species. In total, 155 native species belonging to 42 botanical families were analyzed. In addition, to determine the appropriate machine learning classifier, five supervised learning classification techniques were implemented: decision trees (DT), artificial neural networks (ANN), k-nearest neighbors (k-NN), Naive-Bayes classifier (NBC) and support vector machine (SVM), which had their performance evaluated. For modeling, 66% of the seeds’ morphobiometric data were used to train the classifiers, while 34% were reserved for validation. The classifiers are promising tools for identifying species from seed images. The decision tree (DT) classifier showed greater accuracy for correct species identification (82.8%), followed by ANN (81.7%), k-NN (81.7%), NBC (81.1%) and SVM (78.7%). Resumo: A identificação de sementes de espécies nativas é uma avaliação complexa devido a elevada biodiversidade brasileira e características variadas entre as espécies. Objetivou-se aplicar diferentes classificadores de aprendizado de máquina associado à análise de imagens para identificar sementes de espécies florestais. Foram analisadas 155 espécies nativas pertencentes a 42 famílias botânicas. Para determinar o classificador de aprendizado de máquina adequado, cinco técnicas de classificação por aprendizado supervisionado foram implementadas: árvores de decisão (DT), redes neurais artificiais (ANN), k-vizinhos mais próximos (k-NN), classificador Naive-Bayes (NBC) e máquina de vetores de suporte (SVM), os quais tiveram seu desempenho avaliados. Para modelagem, 66% dos dados morfobiométricos das sementes foram usados para treinamento dos classificadores, enquanto 34% foram reservados para validação. Os classificadores são ferramentas promissoras para a identificação de espécies a partir das imagens de sementes. ABSTRACT Objective: To report the case of a girl presenting a severe phenotype of mandibuloacral dysplasia type A (MADA) characterized by prominent osteolytic changes and ectodermal defects, associated with a rare homozygous LMNA missense mutation (c.1579C>T). Case description: A 6-year-old girl was evaluated during hospitalization exhibiting the following dysmorphic signs: subtotal alopecia, dysmorphic facies with prominent eyes, marked micrognathia and retrognathia, small beaked nose, teeth crowding and thin lips, generalized lipodystrophy, narrow and sloping shoulders, generalized joint stiffness and bone reabsorption in the terminal phalanges. In dermatological examination, atrophic skin, loss of cutaneous elasticity, hyperkeratosis, dermal calcinosis, and hyperpigmented and hypochromic patches were observed. Radiology exams performed showed bilateral absence of the mandibular condyles, clavicle resorption with local amorphous bone mass confluence with the scapulae, shoulder joints with subluxation and severe bone dysplasia, hip dysplasia, osteopenia and subcutaneous calcifications. RESUMO Objetivo: Relatar o caso de uma jovem que apresentava um fenótipo grave de displasia mandibuloacral tipo A (MADA) caracterizado por alterações osteolíticas proeminentes e defeitos ectodérmicos, associados a uma rara mutação homozigótica missense no gene LMNA (c.1579C>T). Descrição do caso: Uma menina de seis anos foi avaliada durante hospitalização apresentando os seguintes sinais dismórficos: alopecia subtotal, fácies dismórfica com olhos proeminentes, micrognatia e retrognatia acentuada, nariz pequeno e adunco, dentes apinhados e lábios finos, lipodistrofia generalizada, ombros estreitos e inclinados, rigidez articular e reabsorção óssea nas falanges terminais. Ao exame dermatológico, observou-se pele atrófica, perda da elasticidade cutânea, hiperceratose, calcinose dérmica e manchas hiperpigmentadas e hipocrômicas.
