Resumo: Esta pesquisa apresenta uma revisão sistematizada da literatura para identificar os principais fatores críticos de sucesso (FCS) que influenciam a competitividade de startups. Considerando que aspectos relacionados à competitividade devem ser o alvo das organizações, principalmente das empresas em estágio inicial, este artigo identifica uma ampla gama de fatores relacionados à competitividade das startups. Foram selecionados 36 artigos nas bases de dados Scopus e Web of Science e realizada análise bibliométrica aprofundada do corpus por meio do software VOSviewer. Foram identificados 25 FCS que influenciam a competitividade das startups e categorizados em três pontos de vista fundamentais (PVF), a saber: organizacional, humano e ambiental. O PVF organizacional abrange fatores que definem as características internas das startups. O PVF Humano, por sua vez, consiste em características do capital humano, enquanto o PVF Ambiental refere-se a fatores externos às startups e ao contexto em que atuam. Este trabalho pode ajudar profissionais e formuladores de políticas, esclarecendo-os sobre a competitividade das startups e os elementos envolvidos nisso, além de fornecer-lhes uma estrutura conceitual robusta.

Abstract: This research presents a systematized literature review to identify the main critical success factors (CSFs) that influence startups’ competitiveness. Considering that aspects related to competitiveness should be the target of organizations, especially early-stage companies, this paper identifies a broad of factors regarding startups’ competitiveness. A total of 36 articles were selected in Scopus and Web of Science databases and an in-depth bibliometric analysis of the corpus was performed using the VOSviewer software. 25 CSFs that influence startups’ competitiveness were identified and categorized into three fundamental points of view (FPVs), namely: organizational, human, and environmental. Organizational FPV covers factors that define the internal characteristics of startups. Human FPV, in turn, consists of characteristics of human capital, while the Environmental FPV refers to external factors and the startup context. This work could help practitioners and policymakers by enlightening them about startups’ competitiveness and the elements involved therein, along with providing them with a robust conceptual framework.

Abstract Paper aims To identify factors to measure the cooperation between an agro-industrial pork slaughterhouse cooperative and input suppliers. Originality A performance measurement tool applicable in real-life industry practices related to input suppliers, based on critical success factors. Research method The performance measurement tool was calculated based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) procedure, constituted by two essential elements, the critical success factors and the key performance indicators, organized in a hierarchical structure. The key performance indicators are used to detail the critical success factors, measuring the supplier’s performance in relation to specific cooperation characteristics. Main findings In general, 77% of suppliers are fully or potentially cooperative with an established performance in risk sharing and information sharing factors. For the remaining 23% of suppliers classified as partially cooperatives, suggestions were proposed for changes to be implemented which improve their cooperation level performance. Finally, a direct relation between a low proportion of input discards and a established cooperative performance between suppliers and the analyzed agro-industrial pork cooperative was not verified. Implications for theory and practice To provide a performance measurement tool developed with methodological rigor to be used by researchers and agro-industrial pork slaughterhouse cooperative managers to improve the Brazilian pork slaughterhouse supply chain context.

Abstract Startups are innovative companies that live in uncertain environments. This research aims to characterize the conditions and variables that influence the startups’ development according to Brazilian stakeholders' perception, understanding that is reached approaching its business characteristics and how the environment acts on it. An evaluation instrument is developed to assists the validation of critical factors, as well as the KPIs necessary for the execution of the instrument. The study presents, through bibliographic research, a theoretical proposal of critical success factors that receive the assessment of stakeholders. The results demonstrate the impact of critical success factors on the startups’ development, according to the stakeholders’ perception.

Abstract Across history, transportation of people and cargo has been highly relevant for economic and social development, directly reflecting the evolution of how society is organized, culminating in the current forms of urban demographic organizations. Therefore, studies regarding urban mobility optimization are nowadays very relevant to scientific community. Hence, the main objective of this study is to identify the scientific context of urban public transport management for applications focused on Bus Rapid Transit systems (from 2009 to 2014), allowing visualization of possible opportunities to increase the level and number of contributions to these systems, through the development of a bibliometric analysis. It was possible to conclude that six articles are directly linked with this research field, establishing the theoretical framework to conduct further studies.

ABSTRACT Two-dimensional rectangular strip packing problems belong to the broader class of Cutting and Packing (C&P) problems, in which small items are required to be cut from or packed on a larger object, so that the waste (unused regions of the large object) is minimized. C&P problems differ from other combinatorial optimization problems by the intrinsic geometric constraints: items may not overlap and have to be fully contained in the large object. This survey approaches the specific C&P problem in which all items are rectangles, therefore fully characterized by a width and a height, and the large object is a strip, i.e. a rectangle with a fixed width but an infinite height, being the problem's goal to place all rectangles on the strip so that the height is minimized. These problems have been intensively and extensively tackled in the literature and this paper will focus on heuristic resolution methods. Both the seminal and the most recent approaches (from the last decade) will be reviewed, in a rather tutorial flavor, and classified according to their type: constructive heuristics, improvement heuristics with search over sequences and improvement heuristics with search over layouts. Building on this review, research gaps are identified and the most interesting research directions pointed out.

ABSTRACT In similar conditions of food handling and genetics, there are large differences in the final productivity of farms, resulting from inherent factors of the production system. This fact predisposes the need of studies on optimizing the rearing conditions of the farms, in order to verify the main limitations for the producers. Therefore, the present study aims to generate predictions of the swine productivity in the finishing phase, using variables related to their profiles and the production results achieved. 107 farmers belonging to a swine cooperative were considered in the study, located in 47 counties at the Taquari valley region, Brazil. Predictions were generated through the aid of neural networks, and the findings show that Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) can predict the productivity variables Feed Conversion, Mortality and Average Daily Gain for the proposed case.

Nos últimos anos, é notória a evolução das empresas brasileiras no que tange a busca por otimizar os seus resultados industriais. Estudos do Lean Institute Brasil (2012) indicam que as indústrias do Brasil são, em média, as que necessitam o maior número de horas extras para o cumprimento das operações de manufatura, fato diretamente vinculado à elevada quantidade de estoques entre processos, desperdícios na movimentação e armazenagem de materiais. Logo, o artigo objetiva desenvolver uma metodologia que viabilize o estudo da maneira na qual funciona a cadeia de suprimentos interna de empresas fabricantes de ônibus do Brasil, em específico para os seus componentes comprados, com base no método denominado Making Materials Flow, para a correção das situações elencadas, havendo, ao final, uma redução em 40% do total de itens em falta para a linha de montagem e colaborando para o aumento de 37% na produção por dia.

Recently, Brazilian companies have searched for ways to optimize the results of industrial processes. Studies by the Lean Institute Brasil (2012) indicate that the industries of Brazil, on average, require the most overtime for compliance with manufacturing operations. This is directly linked to the high amount of stocks between processes, waste handling and the storage of materials. Thus, this article aims to study the way in which the internal supply chain operates in a bus manufacturing company in Brazil. Specifically, purchased components are studied to find ways to obtain industrial gains, and a methodology called Making Materials Flow is used to correction the problems that are identified. In the end, missing items in the Assembly Line were reduced by 40%, the number of buses produced per day increased by approximately 37%.

A presente pesquisa teve por objetivo desenvolver uma modelagem capaz de identificar o perfil ideal de produtores terminadores de suínos utilizando a otimização de desempenho interativa, que se iniciou através da verificação qualitativa dos critérios considerados de maior relevância para o contexto decisório, gerando um diagnóstico contendo perguntas estruturadas fechadas que abrangem aspectos socioeconômicos acerca da atividade, até se chegar à concepção do modelo matemático capaz de traduzir os dados obtidos em informações quantitativas. Para a verificação, foi proposto um estudo prático para um universo de 120 produtores associados a uma cooperativa localizada no Rio Grande do Sul. Os resultados mostraram que, a partir da definição do perfil ideal, foi possível verificar que 82 produtores estão no grupo dos que obtiveram um desempenho “Bom”; sendo que, para 44, o resultado se encontra na faixa entre 86% e 90% do ideal, o que significa que a maioria possui condições a curto ou médio prazos de evoluir seu status para o considerado “Muito Bom”, onde apenas 12,5% dos produtores se encontram atualmente.

The present research aimed to develop a modeling capable of identifying the ideal profile of swine finishing producers using the interactive performance optimization, which began by verifying qualitative the criteria considered most relevant to the decision-making, generating a closed structured diagnosis that covers the socioeconomic aspects about the activity, until the design of a mathematical model able to translate the data obtained in quantitative information. For the verification, it was proposed a practical study for a universe of 120 members of a cooperative in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The results showed that, from the application and the definition of the ideal profile, it was possible to verify that 82 producers are in the group of those who have obtained a "Good" performance, and to 44 the result is in the range between 86% to 90% from the ideal, which means that most have short or medium-term conditions to evolve their status for the considered "Very Good", where only 12.5% of the producers are currently.

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo proponer un modelo para evaluar el desempeño de la logística interna de una empresa de servicios, sobre la base de métodos multicriterio constructivistas, hacia un mapeo sistemático de la situación actual contexto, con el objetivo de encontrar oportunidades para mejorar sus procesos. Se encontró que, teniendo en cuenta las dificultades de la gestión de los flujos logísticos, el método permite que ayudan en la identificación, organización, medición e integración de las variables a través de una manera sistémica y participativa. Como implicaciones prácticas, se dispuso condiciones para la empresa para medir sus acciones, el mantenimiento de los índices para el establecimiento de metas y evaluaciones periódicas. Esta investigación también presenta la importancia de este tipo de metodología para la prestación de servicios de logística, un tema poco explorado en la literatura científica, especialmente cuando se utilizan enfoques constructivistas.

The present research aims to propose a model for evaluating the performance of the internal logistics for a service company, based on Multicriteria Constructivist methods, towards a systematic mapping of the current context situation, aiming to find opportunities to improve its processes. It was found that, considering the difficulties of managing logistics flows, the method allows assisting in the identification, organization, measurement and integration of the variables through a systemic and participatory manner. As practical implications, it was provided conditions for the company to measure its actions, sustaining indexes for goal setting and periodic assessments. This research also presents the importance of this type of methodology for the provision of logistics services, a subject underexplored in the scientific literature, especially when using constructivist approaches.

El presente artículo tiene por objetivo principal proponer un sistema de men-suración de desempeño de los segmentos de franquicias existentes en Brasil, a través de la elaboración de indicadores relacionados a los factores externos considerados como críticos, basándose en datos económicos y no económicos que quedaron disponibles públicamente por la Associação Brasileira de Franchising (ABF). Con los resultados, fueron desarrollados cinco indicadores de desempeño para el sistema, además de la aplicación de ese modelo en un segmento específico dentro del sistema de franquicias de Brasil, para fines de análisis de las informaciones obtenidas y el test de la confiabilidad de los parámetros utilizados, identificando para ambos que el modelo es confiable de acuerdo con los criterios de evaluación establecidos.

The main goal this paper seeks to achieve is to set forth a performance measuring system for franchise sectors currently in place in Brazil, on the basis of a set of indicators being designed which are related with external factors being deemed as critical, and based upon economic and non-economic data being made available to the general public by the Associação Brasileira de Franchising (ABF). Five performance indicators have been designed for the system together with their outcomes, and the model shall be applied to a specific segment within the Brazilian franchise system, so as to enable the analysis of data being gathered, and the reliability test of parameters being used, thus allowing to ensuring both sectors that the model is reliable vis-à-vis the evaluation criteria being designed

O presente artigo tem por objetivo principal propor um sistema de mensuração do desempenho dos segmentos de franquias existentes no Brasil, através da elaboração de indicadores relacionados aos fatores externos considerados como críticos de sucesso ao setor, baseando-se em dados econômicos e não econômicos disponibilizados publicamente pela Associação Brasileira de Franchising (ABF). Como resultados, foram desenvolvidos cinco indicadores para a modelagem em questão, além da aplicação destes em um segmento específico dentro do sistema de franquias do Brasil, para fins de análise das informações obtidas e testagem da confiabilidade dos parâmetros utilizados, que identificam para ambos que o modelo é confiável de acordo com os critérios de avaliação estabelecidos.
