Abstract Objective: To analyze the temporal tendency of stunting prevalence among children under five years of age registered in the Food and Nutritional Surveillance System (SISVAN) in the Brazilian Northern Region, from 2008 to 2017. Methods: Ecological time-series study with data from SISVAN. The annual variation rate for the prevalence of undernutrition, measured by the presence of stunting (low height-for-age index), was estimated for the Northern Region and for each of its states using the Prais-Winsten regression model with and without variable adjustment for SISVAN coverage to explore the relationship between these variables. Results: The Northern Region showed a tendency toward the reduction of chronic child stunting, with an annual variation of -5.30% (95%CI -9.64; -0.77) in the period studied. The states of Acre (-7.19%; 95%CI -12.31; -1.77), Pará (-4.86%; 95%CI -9.44; -0.03), and Tocantins (-6.22%; 95%CI -9.88; -2.41) showed a tendency to reduce the prevalence of stunting, while the other four states showed stability during the period. A strong negative correlation was found between SISVAN coverage and the prevalence of stunting in the states of Acre (beta: -0.725), Amazonas (beta: -0.874), Pará (beta: -0.841), and Tocantins (beta: -0.871), indicating that the increase in system coverage is associated with a reduction of stunting. Conclusions: There is a tendency toward a reduction in the prevalence of stunting particularly in three states and in the North Region as a whole, from 2008 to 2017. The coverage by the system was associated with a reduction in the prevalence of child stunting in four states.

Resumo Este trabalho avaliou a relação entre as percepções de resultados de treinamento, desenvolvimento profissional e comportamentos de cidadania organizacional, a partir de estudo em uma universidade pública. A pesquisa foi descritiva com abordagens quantitativa e qualitativa. Coletou-se dados em três etapas sucessivas: análise documental, survey com egressos (n = 231) e grupo focal com gestores (n = 11). Na análise utilizaram-se estatísticas descritivas, modelagens de equações estruturais e análise de conteúdo. Os resultados qualitativos mostraram convergências entre a opinião dos egressos e das chefias sobre o impacto do treinamento. Os testes indicaram que o impacto do treinamento explica 12% do desenvolvimento profissional. Para as dimensões de comportamentos de cidadania organizacional, o impacto do treinamento também foi significativo estatisticamente: sugestões criativas (22%), divulgação da imagem organizacional (10%) e cooperação com os colegas (3%). Esses achados trazem contribuições teóricas e implicações práticas para o treinamento de funcionários em organizações públicas.

Abstract This study evaluated the relationship between perceptions of training results, professional development and organizational citizenship’s behaviours, based on a study at a public university. The research is descriptive and employed quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data were collected in three successive stages: documentary analysis, a survey with alumni (n = 231) and a focal group composed of managers (n = 11). Descriptive statistics, structural equations modelling and content analysis were used for the data analysis. The results showed convergences between the opinions of alumni and managers regards on the impact of training. Tests indicated that the impact of training explains 12% of professional development. For the dimensions of organizational citizenship behavior’s, the impact of training was also statistically significant: creative suggestions (22%), dissemination of the organizational image (10%) and cooperation with colleagues (3%). These findings bring theoretical contributions and practical implications for the training of employees in public organizations.

Resumo Objetivo analisar a tendência temporal da cobertura do Sistema de Vigilância Alimentar e Nutricional Web (Sisvan Web) em menores de 5 anos de idade da região Norte brasileira, no período de 2008 a 2017. Métodos estudo ecológico de séries temporais, com dados do Sisvan Web; a variação percentual anual (VPA) da cobertura do sistema foi estimada pelo modelo de regressão de Prais-Winsten. Resultados na região Norte, as coberturas do SISVAN Web em 2008 e 2017 foram de 12,2% e 37,9%, respectivamente, com tendência crescente (VPA=14,2% – IC95% 10,9;17,6); os estados da região e respectivas regionais de saúde apresentaram tendências semelhantes; o Acre foi o estado que apresentou maior VPA (17,3% – IC95% 13,6;21,1). Conclusão houve tendência crescente da cobertura do Sisvan Web na região Norte do país, assim como em todos os seus estados e regionais de saúde.

ABSTRACT The meal of Jatropha curcas (JCM) seed is a by-product of the biofuel industry and may potentially to be used as animal feed. However, its toxicity has prevented its utilization in animal nutrition mainly due to its high concentration of phorbol esters. This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of the dietary inclusion of JCM on the growth performance, feed digestibility and internal organs development of broilers. Thirty two 48-d-old Ross 308 broiler chickens housed in 16 pens (2 birds/pen) were used in this study. Birds were randomly allocated to dietary treatments comprising four JCM levels (negative control, 25, 50, or 100 g JCM/kg of diet) for four weeks. Results showed that increasing levels of JCM had a negative impact on broiler performance, reducing live weight, weight gain, and feed intake. Treatments led to a decrease of the relative weight of testis and spleen, and to an increase in heart relative weight. In broilers fed diets containing JCM, the testis were atrophic, presenting reduced size of the seminiferous tubule, which were small and lined within active sertoli cells and rare spermatogonia. This study illustrates the negative impact of diets containing JCM on broiler performance and JCM pathological effects on several organs.
