ABSTRACT: Skin grafting is a simple and very useful surgical technique for wound repair, especially where there is difficulty in performing direct synthesis or other reconstructive techniques. low-intensity laser (LIL) has already been used successfully in cases where the graft was applied to wounds shortly after its creation. However, LIL still lacks standardization due to conflicting studies on its results. Thus, this study compared the effectiveness of continuous wave LIL with pulsed wave LIL in stimulating the healing of skin grafts, applied to newly created wounds in rabbits. For this purpose, 31 rabbits were distributed into: control group (CG, n = 10), continuous wave laser group (GLC; n = 10) and pulsed wave laser group (GLP; n = 11). Postoperative management was similar between all groups, with the exception of laser application, as indicated by the group. The GLC and GLP groups showed similar evolution, with a satisfactory healing process of the graft, unlike the GC group. These results were maintained in the microscopic evaluation, as the groups treated with laser showed less inflammation, better integration with the receptor area, greater re-epithelialization and collagenization. There was no difference in vascular density between the treatment groups on immunohistochemical analysis. The newly created wound was not able to provide nutrition for the skin graft in rabbits, but LIL is an efficient adjuvant therapy in stimulating healing between the recipient area and the graft, promoting full integration. However; although, statistically there was no difference in the form of light emission, pulsed or continuous, patients who received continuous wave LIL showed superior microscopic evolution.

RESUMO: A enxertia cutânea é uma técnica cirúrgica simples e bastante útil para o reparo de feridas, principalmente, quando há dificuldade em realizar a síntese direta ou outras técnicas reconstrutivas. O laser de baixa intensidade (LBI) já foi utilizado com sucesso em casos em que o enxerto foi aplicado em feridas logo após a sua criação. No entanto, a LBI ainda carece de padronizações, mediante estudos conflitantes sobre seus resultados. Desta forma, este trabalho objetivou comparar a eficácia da LBI de onda contínua com onda pulsada na estimulação da cicatrização de enxertos cutâneos, aplicados em feridas recém-criadas em coelhos. Para tanto, foram utilizados 31 coelhos distribuídos em: grupo controle (GC, n = 10), grupo laser onda contínua (GLC; n = 10) e grupo laser onda pulsada (GLP; n = 11). O manejo pós operatório foi semelhante entre todos os grupos, com exceção da aplicação do laser, conforme o grupo indicado. Os grupos GLC e GLP apresentaram evolução semelhante, com processo cicatricial satisfatório do enxerto, ao contrário do grupo GC. Tais resultados se mantiveram na avaliação microscópica, pois os grupos tratados com laser apresentaram menor inflamação, melhor integração à área receptora, maior reepitelização e colagenização. Não houve diferença na densidade vascular entre os grupos de tratamento na análise imuno-histoquímica. A ferida recém-criada não é capaz de fornecer nutrição para o enxerto cutâneo nos coelhos, mas a LBI é uma terapia adjuvante eficiente em estimular a cicatrização entre a área receptora e o enxerto, promovendo integração total. Entretanto, embora não houve diferença estatística na forma de emissão de luz, pulsada ou contínua, os pacientes que receberam LBI em onda contínua apresentam evolução microscópica superior.

ABSTRACT Introduction: A multidimensional clinical and functional assessment is essential for an adequate and personalized intervention for the elderly. The Clinical-Functional Vulnerability Index (IVCF-20) is a simple instrument that includes multidimensional aspects of the health of the elderly. This study aims to translate and cross-culturally adapt the IVCF-20. Methodology: The study carried out the translation of the original scale, back-translation and content validity (panel of experts and 2 elderly people). With the pre-test, the final version of the IVCF-20 in European Portuguese emerges. Throughout the process, the authors of the original scale were involved. Results: The correct linguistic and semantic equivalence in a clear and simple way. The expert panel instigates changes in 12 of the 20 items: 7 items with 100% agreement and 5 items with 75%. On pre-testing it was necessary change a term and the IVCF-20 version in European Portuguese emerges. Discussion: The inclusion of elderly people in the process has become very advantageous. Procedure for changing the age classification range, according to the WHO and UN definition, the range of 65-74 years was considered instead of 60-74 years (original scale). In the application of the pre-test questions, it is more delicate to understand the questions (Q18 and Q19) and in the interpretation of the “normal health”. Conclusion: The Portuguese version of the IVFC-20 is an instrument that is easy to understand, with simple language and can be used with confidence in clinical practice. It is then intended to carry out the psychometric study to ensure its validation.

RESUMEN Introducción: La valoración clínica y funcional multidimensional es fundamental en la intervención adecuada y personalizada del adulto mayor. El Índice de Vulnerabilidad Clínica y Funcional (IVCF-20) es un instrumento sencillo que incluye aspectos multidimensionales de la salud de las personas mayores. Este estudio tiene como objetivo traducir y adaptar transculturalmente el IVCF-20. Metodología: En el estudio se realizó la traducción de la escala original, retrotraducción y validez de contenido (panel de expertos y 2 ancianos). Con la prueba previa, surge la versión final del IVCF-20 en portugués europeo. En todo el proceso estuvieron involucrados los autores de la escala original. Resultados: La equivalencia lingüística y semántica se produjo de forma clara y sencilla. En el panel de expertos se promovieron cambios en 12 de los 20 ítems: 7 ítems con acuerdo de todos (100%) y 5 ítems con 75%. En el pre-test surge la necesidad de cambiar un término, obteniendo la versión IVCF-20 en portugués europeo. Discusión: La inclusión de personas mayores en el proceso se ha vuelto muy ventajosa. Se cambió el rango de clasificación de edad, según la definición de la OMS y la ONU, se consideró el rango de 65-74 años en lugar de 60-74 años (escala original). En la aplicación del pre-test, hubo una leve dificultad en la comprensión de las preguntas más extensas (P18 y P19) y en la interpretación de la expresión “salud normal”. Conclusión: La versión portuguesa del IVFC-20 es un instrumento de fácil comprensión, con lenguaje sencillo y que puede ser utilizado con confianza en la práctica clínica. Se pretende entonces realizar el estudio psicométrico para asegurar su validación.

O Índice de Vulnerabilidade Clínico Funcional (IVCF-20) é um instrumento simples, que contempla aspetos multidimensionais da saúde do idoso. Este estudo tem como objetivo traduzir e adaptar transculturalmente o IVCF-20. Metodologia: No estudo foi realizada a tradução da escala original, retrotradução e validade de conteúdo (painel de peritos e 2 pessoas idosas). Com o pré-teste emerge a versão final do IVCF-20 em português europeu. Ao longo do processo houve envolvimento dos autores da escala original. Resultados: A equivalência linguística e semântica decorreu de forma clara e simples. No painel de peritos instigaram-se alterações em 12 dos 20 itens: 7 itens com a concordância de todos (100%) e 5 itens com 75%. No pré-teste emerge a necessidade da alteração de um termo, obtendo-se a versão do IVCF-20 em português europeu. Discussão: A inclusão de pessoas idosas no processo tornou-se muito vantajosa. Procedeu-se à alteração do intervalo da classificação da idade, de acordo com a definição da OMS e ONU, foi considerado o intervalo de 65-74 anos em vez de 60-74 anos (escala original). Na aplicação do pré-teste verificou-se ligeira dificuldade na compreensão das questões mais extensas (Q18 e Q19) e na interpretação da expressão “saúde normal”. Conclusão: A versão portuguesa do IVFC-20 é um instrumento de fácil compreensão, com linguagem simples e pode ser usado com confiança na prática clínica. Pretende-se de seguida, a realização do estudo psicométrico para assegurar a sua validação.

RESUMO Objetivo Analisar a percepção de alunos dos cursos de Fonoaudiologia e de Pedagogia a respeito de suas experiências e práticas de leitura e escrita de textos pertencentes ao gênero do discurso na esfera acadêmica. Método Pesquisa de caráter quanti-qualitativo, de corte transversal e do tipo analítico. Para o levantamento dos dados, foi aplicado um questionário com perguntas que abrangiam a relação dos alunos com a leitura e com a escrita de textos pertencentes ao gênero acadêmico e as dificuldades enfrentadas no uso desse gênero do discurso. Resultados Muitos alunos supõem que apresentam alguma dificuldade no uso dos gêneros discursivos usados na universidade, o que pode indicar lacunas no trabalho com a linguagem escrita nos níveis de ensino que antecederam sua entrada no Ensino Superior. Alguns discentes referiram que se sentem culpados por não acompanharem, de forma efetiva, as atividades de leitura e de escrita propostas em seus respectivos cursos universitários, subentendendo que isso se deve a um distúrbio inerente aos mesmos. Conclusão Apesar do aumento do número de alunos no Ensino Superior, muitos ainda sentem-se excluídos da vida acadêmica, especialmente, por não usarem, de maneira proficiente, textos próprios deste nível de ensino. Cabe à Universidade e a todos os atores envolvidos na formação superior promoverem ações que considerem o direito a educação de todos os alunos.

ABSTRACT Purpose to analyze the perception of Speech-Therapy and Education undergraduates regarding their experiences and practices in reading and writing texts from academic discourse genres. Methods It´s a mixed crosscut study, with data collected by the application of a semi-structured questionnaire with open and closed questions about students’ relation towards reading and writing of academic texts, their difficulties in the use of these genres and how they cope with such difficulties. Results The results show that a significant number of the students assume that they have some difficulty in reading and writing these discourse genres in academic settings, which may be an indication of gaps in working with reading and writing during previous educational levels. Some of these students even blame themselves for not effectively following the reading and writing proposals in higher education, implying that this is due to an intrinsic disorder. Conclusion The data allow us to state that, despite the increase in the number of students in higher education, many still feel excluded from academic life, especially for not using academic discourse genres in a proficient way. It is the University responsibility, along with all actors involved in higher education, to promote actions that consider the right to education for all students.

Abstract Persistence involves the intention to maintain efforts when faced with obstacles and challenges, in order to achieve a specific goal. The Rigid and Flexible Persistence Scale (RFPS) is a self-report measure that assesses persistence that is theoretically derived from the premises of the Dualistic Model of Passion. The aim of the present research was to adapt the RFPS to Brazilian Portuguese and to estimate its evidence of validity and reliability in the context of work. Participants were 400 professionals, 55.8% women, aged between 18 and 68 years. The results indicate that the RFPS presented validity evidence based on the content. Corresponding to the theoretical expectations, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses demonstrated adequacy of the structure composed of two factors, explaining 75% of the data variance, with good levels of reliability. The RFPS also revealed strong invariance across gender and work conditions (in-person vs remote). Flexible persistence showed positive association with harmonious passion and occupational self-efficacy. Conversely, rigid persistence showed positive association with obsessive passion. It was observed a mediational role of occupational self-efficacy in the relationship between harmonious passion and flexible persistence. Overall, the findings suggest that the RFPS is an adequate measure of persistence in a Brazilian occupational sample.

Abstract The aim of the present study was to investigate the impact of oral health literacy (OHL) on conceptions of care and behaviors related to COVID-19. The sample came from two preliminary cross-sectional studies that determined the level of OHL of parents/guardians of six-to-12-year-old children in two major Brazilian cities (Curitiba and Belo Horizonte). Functional OHL was measured using the Brazilian version of the Rapid Estimate of Adult Literacy in Dentistry (BREALD-30) and the Health Literacy Dental Scale (HeLD-14) for the evaluation of interactive OHL. Participants were recruited through e-mail, social media, and telephone contact. The questionnaire on conceptions of care and behaviors related to COVID-19 was created based on the guidelines of the World Health Organization. Two hundred nineteen individuals participated in the study. There was no significant difference in socioeconomic and demographic variables and in the medians of BREALD and HeLD-14 between the two cities (P>0.05). Higher levels of functional OHL were associated with an appropriate conception that individual care affects collective care (P=0.038), but with an inappropriate conception of seeking medical assistance in cases of mild symptoms (P=0.030). Higher levels of interactive OHL were related to social distancing behavior in the city of Curitiba (P=0.049) and in the overall sample (P=0.040). It is concluded that functional OHL was associated with two of the investigated conceptions about COVID-19, while interactive OHL was associated with social distancing behavior. These data may suggest that different dimensions of the OHL can have an impact on different aspects of coping with the pandemic.

RESUMO OBJETIVO Reconhecer elementos que facilitaram ou dificultaram as etapas do processo de implementação do PlanificaSUS. MÉTODOS Foi realizado um estudo de casos múltiplos em quatro regiões de saúde pré-selecionadas – Belo Jardim (PE), Fronteira Oeste (RS), Sul-Mato-Grossense (MT), Valença (BA) –, utilizando como condições traçadoras a hipertensão arterial sistêmica e a atenção materno infantil. Foi realizada observação participante na Comissão Intergestora Regional (CIR), bem como entrevistas em profundidade nas quatro regiões estudadas, com informantes-chave da gestão estadual e municipal e com profissionais dos serviços da atenção primária à saúde e atenção ambulatorial especializada envolvidos no projeto. Construiu-se análise em três dimensões: política, técnico operacional e contexto. RESULTADOS Na dimensão política, ficou evidenciado que, de alguma forma, as regiões identificaram no projeto uma oportunidade de articulação entre estados e municípios e uma aposta política importante para a construção de redes e linhas de cuidado, mas ainda com muitos caminhos a percorrer para enfrentar as barreiras identificadas nas disputas em jogo na construção do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). Na dimensão técnico operacional, é importante considerar que foi estimulada uma cultura de planejamento local na APS, além do favorecimento do uso de ferramentas tradicionais, no sentido de organizá-la e qualificá-la, como a organização dos cadastros, da agenda e da demanda. No entanto, os processos centralizados formativos e indutores da planificação nem sempre respondem às necessidades singulares dos territórios e podem produzir barreiras à implementação. CONCLUSÕES Cabe considerar o papel do gestor estadual na aposta relacionada ao projeto, tanto no nível central quanto no nível regional, e o efeito de processos de mobilização da atenção primária à saúde e amplificação de sua potência, mas ainda com muitos caminhos a percorrer para enfrentar as barreiras identificadas nas disputas em jogo na construção do SUS.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE To recognize elements that facilitated or hindered the PlanificaSUS implementation stages. METHODS A multiple case study was carried out in four pre-selected health regions in Brazil—Belo Jardim (PE), Fronteira Oeste (RS), Sul-Mato-Grossense (MT) and Valença (BA) using systemic arterial hypertension and maternal and child care as tracer conditions. Participant observation (in regional interagency commissions) and in-depth interviews with key informants from state and municipal management and primary health care and specialized outpatient care service professionals within the project were carried out in these four regions. Analysis was built according to political, technical-operational, and contextual dimensions. RESULTS The political dimension evinced that the regions found the project an opportunity to articulate states and municipalities and an important political bet to build networks and lines of care but that there remained much to be faced in the disputes related to building the Unified Health System (SUS). In the technical operational dimension, it is important to consider that primary health care stimulated a culture of local planning and favored traditional tools to organize and improve it, such as organizing registrations, agendas, and demands. However, centralized training and planning-inducing processes fail to always respond to local needs and can produce barriers to implementation. CONCLUSIONS It is worth considering the central and regional role of state managers in the commitment related to the project and the effect of mobilizing primary health care and expanding its power. There remains much to be faced in the disputes at stake in bullring SUS.

Resumo A pielonefrite enfisematosa (PNE) é uma infecção aguda rara necrotizante do rim e dos tecidos adjacentes, com presença de gás no parênquima renal, sistema coletor ou tecido perirrenal. Predomina a etiologia bacteriana, principalmente bacilos Gram-negativos; Candida spp. e na maioria das vezes C. albicans são raramente descritas. Descreve-se um caso de PNE causada por C. glabrata sensível a fluconazol em mulher jovem, hipertensa e com diabetes mellitus (DM) não diagnosticada, com disfunção renal à admissão; tomografia computadorizada de abdome constatou aumento volumétrico do rim esquerdo, sinais de coleções gasosas e borramento perirrenal. Apesar da terapia antimicrobiana instituída, devido à refratariedade clínica, foi indicado cateter duplo J e posterior nefrectomia total, com boa evolução pós-operatória. A urocultura evidenciou C. glabrata sensível a fluconazol, e o anatomopatológico demonstrou atrofia tubular e intenso infiltrado inflamatório intersticial. Apesar da condição grave, potencialmente fatal, houve controle do foco infeccioso e plena recuperação da paciente. O mau manejo do DM é um importante fator desencadeante, e é de grande relevância identificar a PNE por meio de exames de imagem devido às peculiaridades de seu manejo clínico e potencialmente cirúrgico.

Abstract Emphysematous pyelonephritis (EPN) is a rare acute necrotizing infection of the kidney and surrounding tissues, with gas in the renal parenchyma, collecting system or perirenal tissue. The bacterial etiology predominates; mainly Gram-negative bacilli; Candida spp. and C. albicans are rarely described. We describe a case of EPN caused by C. glabrata, sensitive to fluconazole in a young, hypertensive woman with undiagnosed diabetes mellitus (DM), with renal dysfunction upon admission; her abdominal CT scan found a volumetric increase in the left kidney, signs of gas collections and perirenal blurring. Despite the antimicrobial therapy instituted, due to clinical refractoriness, a double J catheter and subsequent total nephrectomy were indicated, with good postoperative evolution. Her uroculture showed C. glabrata sensitive to fluconazole, and the pathology study showed tubular atrophy and intense interstitial inflammatory infiltrate. Despite the serious, potentially fatal condition, we could control the infection and the patient recovered fully. Poor DM management is an important triggering factor, and it is of great relevance to identify the EPN through imaging exams due to the peculiarities of its clinical and potentially surgical management

Resumo Indústrias alimentícias estão reformulando produtos para reduzir a quantidade total de açúcar. Para reduzir a densidade calórica e manter o dulçor de seus produtos, açúcares são combinados com edulcorantes. Esse estudo teve como objetivo analisar as informações sobre a presença, número e tipo, e conteúdo de diferentes edulcorantes exibidos na lista de ingredientes de 10 produtos ultraprocessados, de 3 categorias diferentes. O estudo também avaliou as percepções e entendimento dos consumidores sobre adoçantes calóricos e não calóricos usados em produtos ultraprocessados, através da análise de discussões com 12 grupos focais. Observou-se combinação de açúcares com edulcorantes no mesmo produto e, frequentemente, ausência das quantidades dos edulcorantes nos rótulos nutricionais. Esses produtos voltados a crianças oferecem calorias reduzidas às custas do aumento da variedade e concentração desses edulcorantes. Os participantes mostraram-se confusos sobre os diferentes tipos de adoçantes e edulcorantes e suas possíveis consequências à saúde. Apresentar informações mais claras sobre os ingredientes e nutrição facilitariam a compreensão dos consumidores e os apoiariam em escolhas alimentares saudáveis.

Abstract Food industries are reformulating their products to lower total sugar and caloric content. Caloric sugars are often substituted by or combined with non-caloric sweeteners. Our study analyzed information about the presence, number and type, and content of different sweeteners displayed on the ingredient list of 10 key ultra-processed products (UPP), from 3 different categories. It also assessed consumers’ opinions, perceptions and understanding of caloric and non-caloric sugars used in UPPs using data from 12 focus group discussions. Results indicate a large diversity in sweeteners, frequent use of a combination of multiple caloric and non-caloric sweeteners, often in the same product, and a lack of disclosure of the amounts of non-caloric sweeteners on the nutrition labels. Qualitative analysis reflected the inconsistency of information on nutrition labels and the challenges in compliance with regulations. Participants were unsure about the different types of sweeteners, examples of artificial sweeteners and their potential health consequences. Presenting clearer additive and nutrition information would facilitate consumer comprehension and support healthy food choices.

In this work, the objective was to identify podcasts applied to education or that could be used for this purpose, that had the COVID-19 pandemic as a central theme or that encompassed the subject in their contents, in order to suggest the use of this tool as a methodology complement in the teaching-learning process. 36 podcasts were identified and evaluated according to the proposed taxonomy. Of these, 19 made up the final sample. It was observed that the contents covered different levels of education, which demonstrates potential application in the face of new educational challenges. Nevertheless, podcasts cross different areas of knowledge, allowing for more effective interdisciplinarity. It is thus understood that podcasts can be used at different times and with different teaching methodologies. In addition, the tool enables the inclusion of different peculiarities in the teaching-learning process and makes the pedagogical process plural.

Neste trabalho, objetivou-se identificar podcasts aplicados à educação ou que pudessem ser utilizados com esta finalidade, que tivessem a pandemia da COVID-19 como temática central ou que englobassem o assunto em seus conteúdos, com vistas a sugerir o uso desta ferramenta como metodologia complementar no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Foram identificados e avaliados 36 podcasts conforme a taxonomia proposta. Destes, 19 compuseram a amostra final. Observou-se que os conteúdos abrangiam diversos níveis de ensino, o que demonstra potencial aplicação frente aos novos desafios educacionais. Não obstante, os podcasts atravessam diferentes áreas do conhecimento permitindo uma interdisciplinaridade mais efetiva. Entende-se assim que os podcasts podem ser utilizados em diferentes momentos e com diferentes metodologias de ensino. Além disso, a ferramenta possibilita a inclusão de diferentes peculiaridades no processo de ensino-aprendizagem e torna o processo pedagógico plural.

RESUMO Indivíduos acometidos pelo acidente vascular encefálico (AVE) se beneficiam de diferentes estratégias terapêuticas que apresentam comprovação da eficácia por meio da condução de ensaios clínicos aleatorizados (ECA) bem delineados. Compreender as etapas do estudo pode auxiliar os pesquisadores na realização de futuros ensaios clínicos. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste estudo foi descrever o processo de recrutamento, retenção, presença e adesão na condução de um ECA realizado com indivíduos pós-AVE na fase crônica na cidade de Belo Horizonte (MG), Brasil, com o propósito de investigar a eficácia do treino específico da tarefa para membros superiores e inferiores na melhora do nível de atividade física e mobilidade. Nos resultados, foi observado que dos 674 potenciais participantes, não foi possível contatar 240; 384 não foram avaliados por não atenderem aos critérios de elegibilidade. Participaram da avaliação presencial 50 indivíduos e 14 não fizeram parte do estudo pelo mesmo motivo. Apenas 36 indivíduos iniciaram as intervenções (taxa de recrutamento de 5,3%). Uma taxa de retenção de 80,6% foi observada. Sete indivíduos abandonaram o estudo, principalmente por desinteresse pelas atividades. A taxa de presença foi de 80,9%, e o principal motivo para ausência nas sessões foi incompatibilidade de horário com as consultas médicas. A taxa de adesão foi de 82,7%, com 180 interrupções durante as sessões, sendo sair mais cedo o motivo mais comum. Esses resultados indicam algumas dificuldades no processo de condução do ECA com indivíduos na fase crônica do AVE envolvendo treino específico da tarefa. Apesar dessas dificuldades, a intervenção proposta pode ser considerada viável.

ABSTRACT Individuals who suffered stroke benefit from different therapeutic strategies whose efficacy has been proved by well-designed randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Understanding study steps may assist researchers in conducting future RCTs. Thus, the objective of this study was to describe the process of recruitment, retention, attendance, and adherence in conducting RCTs with individuals in the chronic phase of stroke in the municipality of Belo Horizonte/MG/Brazil, with the purpose of investigating the efficacy of specific task training for both lower and upper limbs in improving patients’ physical activity and mobility. Results showed that, of the 674 potential participants, it was impossible to contact 240 individuals and 384 were excluded from our sample for failing to meet eligibility criteria. In total, 50 individuals participated in clinical evaluations and 14 were excluded from the study for the same reason. Overall, 36 individuals started the interventions, a 5.3% recruitment rate. An 80.6% retention rate was observed. In total, seven individuals left the study, mainly due to lack of interest in the activities. We found an 80.9% attendance rate, and the main reason for missing medical appointments was incompatibility with treatment schedule. We also observed an 82.7% adherence rate. Of these, 180 interrupted sessions were mainly due to patients leaving early. These results indicate some difficulties found in conducting RCTs with individuals in the chronic phase of stroke, especially regarding specific task training. Despite these difficulties, the proposed intervention can be considered feasible.

RESUMEN Las personas afectadas por accidente cerebrovascular (ACV) tienen a su disposición diferentes estrategias terapéuticas que muestran evidencia de eficacia a través de la realización de ensayos clínicos aleatorizados (ECA) bien diseñados. Conocer las etapas del estudio puede ayudar a los investigadores a realizar futuros ensayos clínicos. Así, el objetivo de este estudio fue describir el proceso de selección, retención, asistencia y adherencia de un ECA realizado con individuos post-ACV en fase crónica en la ciudad de Belo Horizonte (Brasil), para investigar la efectividad del entrenamiento específico de tareas para las extremidades superiores e inferiores en la mejora del nivel de actividad física y la movilidad. En los resultados se observó que, de los 674 potenciales participantes, no fue posible contactar a 240; y 384 no fueron evaluados por no cumplir con los criterios de elegibilidad. Cincuenta personas participaron en la evaluación presencial y 14 no formaron parte del estudio por la misma razón. Solo 36 personas empezaron las intervenciones (tasa de selección del 5,3%). Se observó una tasa de retención del 80,6%. Siete personas abandonaron el estudio, principalmente por falta de interés en las actividades. La tasa de asistencia fue del 80,9%, y el principal motivo de ausencia a las sesiones fue la incompatibilidad de horario con las citas médicas. La tasa de adherencia fue del 82,7%, con 180 interrupciones durante las sesiones, y la salida anticipada fue la razón más frecuente. Los resultados apuntan algunas dificultades en el proceso de realización del ECA con individuos en fase crónica del ACV con relación al entrenamiento específico de tarea. A pesar de esto, la intervención propuesta puede considerarse viable.

ABSTRACT: White Mold (WM) is a yield–limiting disease found in soybean. However, up to now no cultivars have been genetically resistant to this disease. Given this context, the present study aimed to develop superior soybean lines with resistance to WM, while maintaining other desirable agronomic traits. Two early maturing soybean cultivars (i.e., EMGOPA 316 and MG/BR 46–Conquista), moderately resistant to WM were used for biparental crosses from which the analyzed population was derived. Therefore, we assessed the resistance to WM in early generation testing of this population. Additionally, we determined the agronomic traits, genetic parameters and selection gains. From 348 F2 genotypes, 35 transgressive genotypes moderately resistant to WM were identified, amongst which 22 genotypes showed desirable agronomic traits for early cycle and grain yield. Moreover, 69 lines were selected as the most promising genotypes for each agronomic trait (i.e. based on the number of days to flowering and maturity, plant height at flowering and maturity, number of nodes on main stem at flowering and maturity, number of pods, grain yield, etc.). Among these selected lines, ten progenies emerged as the superior genotypes for grain yield and early cycle. All together, these results demonstrated that the cross between EMGOPA 316 × MG/BR 46 (Conquista) revealed promising progenies with moderate resistance to WM and/or desirable agronomic traits. Thus, these lines could be used as future resources for breeding efforts aimed at improving resistance to WM.

RESUMO Objetivou-se analisar as concepções da população brasileira acerca da pandemia da Covid-19 em interface com o contexto social e político. Estudo transversal, realizado em cinco regiões brasileiras, entre maio e junho de 2020. Aplicou-se questionário on-line com variáveis socioeconômicas e aspectos relacionados com a concepção da Covid-19. Análises bivariadas e multivariadas avaliaram as associações do desfecho ‘concepções sobre a pandemia da Covid-19’. Dos 1.113 participantes, 68,7% foram infectados ou conheciam alguém, destes, 32,7% sem necessidade de internação. Dos 90,4% que classificaram a Covid-19 como doença grave, 71,2% não se sentiam seguros para cuidar do doente em casa. Sobre o acesso à infor- mação, 51,1% acessaram os meios oficiais e não oficiais, e 90,0% consideraram necessário o distanciamento social. Na análise multivariada, concepção sobre a gravidade da Covid-19 ‘ser uma doença como outra qualquer’ manteve a associação com o sexo (OR=1,1756; p=0,025), a região (OR=1,455; p=0,001), a pandemia no Brasil (OR=0,759; p=0,035) e a necessidade do distanciamento social (OR=20,003; p=0,000). Avanços da pandemia, combinados aos discursos dicotômicos, certamente trarão desdobramentos complexos na crise social, econômica e política no período pós-pandemia.

An online questionnaire was applied with socioeconomic variables and aspects related to the conception of Covid-19. Bivariate and multivariate analyses evaluated the associations of the outcome ‘conceptions about the Covid-19 pandemic’. Of the 1,113 participants, 68.7% were infected or know someone and of these, 32.7% without hospitalization. Of the 90.4% who classified Covid-19 as a serious disease, 71.2% did not feel safe to care for the patient at home. About access to informa- tion, 51.1% accessed official and unofficial means and 90.0% considered social distancing necessary. In the multivariate analysis, conception about the severity of Covid-19 ‘being a disease like any other’ maintained the association with sex (OR=1.1756; p=0.025), region (OR=1.455; p=0.001), the pandemic in Brazil (OR=0.759; p=0.035), and the need for social distancing (OR=20.003; p=0.000). Advances in the pandemic combined with dichotomous discourses will certainly bring complex consequences in the social, economic, and political crisis in the post-pandemic period.
