RESUMO O estudo da ixodofauna de fragmentos de mata em área urbana é fundamental para o conhecimento das espécies de carrapatos e para a dinâmica de transmissão entre hospedeiros silvestres e domésticos, gerando subsídios para propostas de conservação da fauna e controle de zoonoses como a Febre Maculosa Brasileira. Para o levantamento, quatro armadilhas de CO2 foram montadas em seis localidades na mata do Morro do Imperador, Juiz de Fora, MG, durante um ano, totalizando 12 coletas. Os ixodídeos foram coletados por monitoramento das armadilhas e vegetação adjacente durante o período de duas horas e acondicionados em etanol 70° GL. No laboratório, os carrapatos foram identificados sob esterioscopia. Ao final de um ano de estudo, foram coletados 2.122 ixodídeos, sendo 793 larvas (37,3%) e 1.277 ninfas (57, 8%) do gênero Amblyomma, além de 102 adultos (4,9%) do gênero Amblyomma. A espécie mais constante foiAmblyomma cajennense, presente em 83,33% das coletas (71 espécimes), seguido de Amblyomma dubitatum presente em 50% (30 espécimes) e Amblyomma calcaratum em 8,33% (um espécime). As observações mostram que, no ambiente estudado, os ixodídeos têm um padrão de distribuição agregado, possivelmente em função da distribuição agregada do recurso, no caso hospedeiros silvestres.

ABSTRACT The study of the ixodofauna in fragments of woods in an urban area is important to the knowledge of species of tick and the dynamic among wild and domestic hosts, allowing to subsidize proposals for the conservation of the fauna and the control of zoonoses such as Brazilian spotted fever. To accomplish the survey, CO2 traps were built up in six different sites of the forest, during a oneyear period, totalizing 12 collections. The ixodids were collected by monitoring the traps and the adjacent vegetation during two hours and put in ethanol 70° GL. At the laboratory they were identified under the stereoscopic optics. At the end of a one-year period of study 2.122 ixodids were colleted, being 793 larvae (37,3%) and 1.277 nymphs (57,8%) of the genus Amblyomma and 102 were adults (4,9%) of the Amblyomma species. The most constant species was Amblyomma cajennense, present in 83,33% of the collections (71 specimen) followed by Amblyomma dubitatum, present in 50% (30 specimen), and Amblyomma calcaratum, 8,33% (one specimen). The observations showed that in the observed environment the populations of Ixodidae have an aggregate distribution, possibly because of the aggregate distribution of the resource, in the case wild hosts.

The occurrence of canine externa otitis in Fortaleza-Ceará is reported. About 91.5% of the animals with clinical signs were positive to bacterial culture. Among all infections, 49.5% were mixed infections and the most common pathogens were Staphylococcus spp coagulase negative or positive and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The most effective antimicrobials for Staphylococcus coagulase negative were: the quinolones, the aminoglicoside netilmycin and the beta-lactams, excepted ampicillin, penicillin and oxacilin; for Staphylococcus coagulase positive were: cefotoxin, amoxicillin + clavulanic acid, imipenem, netilmycin and cephatoxin; for Pseudomonas aeruginosa were: ciprofloxacin, tobramycin and imipenem.

A pesquisa teve como objetivo avaliar a eficiência e a viabilidade econômica de controle de plantas daninhas com alguns herbicidas residuais (registrados ou não), aplicados em pré-plantio na cultura do feijoeiro. O experimento foi realizado em Santo Antônio de Goiás, no ano agrícola de 1999/2000. Os herbicidas foram aplicados em cobertura das plantas daninhas Commelina benghalensis e Bidens pilosa, com 3 t ha-1 de biomassa seca. Os tratamentos foram constituídos do fatorial 2x10x3, arranjados em parcelas subsubdivididas no delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com três repetições; o primeiro fator consistiu de sistemas de dessecação da área [Sistema Integrado de Controle (SIC) e Aplique e Plante]. No SIC foi usado o sulfosate (720 g ha-1) aos 20 dias antes do plantio e paraquat (200 g ha¹) adicionado aos herbicidas com efeitos residuais, aplicados imediatamente após o plantio do feijoeiro. No sistema Aplique e Plante foi aplicado o sulfosate (720 g ha¹) adicionado aos residuais, cinco dias antes do plantio do feijoeiro. O segundo fator representa a aplicação dos herbicidas com efeitos residuais, em g ha-1: sulfentrazone (200 e 300), dimethenamid (900 e 1.125), clomazone (360), pendimethalin (2.500), smetolachlor (768 e 1.152), diclosulan (12,45) e testemunha; e o terceiro, as doses dos herbicidas de pós-emergência: imazamox (15) + bentazon (240), imazamox (30) + bentazon (480) e testemunha. Os herbicidas residuais aplicados nos sistemas SIC e Aplique e Plante reduziram o crescimento inicial de Bidens pilosa. Para Euphorbia heterophylla somente os herbicidas diclosulan e sulfentrazone proporcionaram efeito semelhante. A aplicação de herbicidas residuais em pré-plantio mostrou ser viável economicamente, em virtude da redução dos de pós-emergência, exceto para os herbicidas dimethenamid e s-metolachlor.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency and economic viability of controlling weeds with residual herbicides, applied in pre-planting of common beans. The study was conducted in Santo Antônio de Goiás, Brazil, in 1999/2000 on three t ha-1 of dry biomass. The 60 treatments were applied on the top of the weed plants (Commelina benghalensis and Bidens pilosa) disposed as a 2x10x3 factorial, with split-plots in a randomized complete block design with three replicates. The first factor consisted of the desiccation systems in the area (Integrated Control System (ICS) and Apply and Sow). ICS consisted of sulfosate (720 g ha-1) applied 20 days before planting and paraquat 200 g ha-1 added to the residual herbicides and applied immediately after sowing. Apply and Sow consisted of (sulfosate 720 g ha-1) added to the residual herbicides, applied five days before sowing. The second factor consisted of the residual herbicides applied in g ha-1, sulfentrazone (200 and 300), dimethenamid (900 and 1.125); clomazone (360); pendimethalin (2.500), s-metolachlor (768 and 1152), diclosulan (12,45) and check; and the third factor consisted of the doses of the post-emergence herbicides: imazamox (15) + bentazon (240), imazamox (30) + bentazon (480) and the check. The results showed that the residual herbicides applied in the ICS and Apply and Plant systems reduced the initial growth of Bidens pilosa, but only the herbicides diclosulan and sulfentrazone showed the same effect on Euphorbia heterophylla. The use of residual herbicides in pre-planting was economically viable reducing the amount of herbicides applied in pre-emergence, except for dimethenamid and s-metolachlor.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o comportamento de herbicidas com efeito residual em diferentes tipos de cobertura vegetal no sistema plantio direto, antes da semeadura do feijoeiro. Cada herbicida foi aplicado isoladamente em cinco diferentes coberturas, totalizando 20 ensaios. Os herbicidas e as respectivas doses, em kg ha-1, foram: diclosulan (0,0125), sulfentrazone (0,300), dimethenamid (1,125) e S-metolachlor (1,152). Em Santo Antônio de Goiás utilizou-se a cobertura de Pennisetum glaucum seco e plantas daninhas secas (Commelina benghalensis e Bidens pilosa) no Sistema Integrado de Controle (SIC); e na localidade de Santa Helena de Goiás empregou-se a cobertura de sorgo seco no SIC e Pennisetum glaucum verde e plantas daninhas verdes (C. benghalensis e B. pilosa) no sistema Aplique e Plante, nos anos agrícolas de 1999 e 2000. Cada ensaio constituiu-se de 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 e 20 t ha-1 de biomassa com diferentes coberturas vegetais, as quais receberam os cinco herbicidas, separadamente, no delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com três repetições. A quantificação dos herbicidas no solo foi determinada em bioensaio, usando-se o Sorghum bicolor como planta-teste. Os resultados obtidos indicaram que diclosulan e sulfentrazone foram encontrados no solo acima de 80% da dose aplicada, independentemente da quantidade e do tipo da cobertura do solo. Para dimethenamid e S-metolachlor, até aproximadamente 50% das doses aplicadas foram detectadas no solo com 8 t ha-1 de palha.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the performance of residual herbicides applied pre planting in different vegetal coverings under no-till system before dry bean crop establishment in 1999 and 2000. Each herbicide was applied separately in five different coverings, totaling twenty experiments. The herbicides and respective dosages were: diclosulan (0.0125 kg ha¹), sulfentrazone (0.300 kg ha-1), dimethenamid (1.125 kg ha-1) and S-metolachlor (1.152 kg ha¹). In Santo Antônio de Goiás, Brazil, Pennisetum glaucum dry plants and dry weeds (Commelina benghalensis and Bidens pilosa) were used under the integrated control system (ICS); and in Santa Helena de Goiás sorghum dry plants were used under the (ICS) system and green Pennisetum glaucum and green weeds (Commelina benghalensis and Bidens pilosa) under the Apply and Sow system in 1999/2000. Each experiment consisted of 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 e 20 t ha-1 of biomass of different vegetal coverings, each receiving the five herbicides separately in a completely randomized design, with three replicates. The amount of herbicide left in the soil was determined in a bioassay, with Sorghum bicolor being used as a control plant. The results showed that 80% of the applied doses of diclosulan and sulfentrazone were present in soil independently of the amount and type of soil covering. For dimethenamid and S-metolachlor, up to 50% of the amount applied was detected in soils with 8 t ha-1 of plant residues.
