ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate autoinflammatory diseases (AID) according to age at diagnosis and sex, and response to therapy in a large population. Methods: This is a cross-sectional observational study of a Latin American registry using a designed web system for data storage, collected between 2015 and 2018. Any altered findings during follow-up were recorded. The forms were translated into Portuguese and Spanish, including demographic, clinical, laboratory, genetic and treatment characteristics. Results: We included 152 patients, 51.3% male and 75% Caucasian. The median age at disease onset was 2.1 years (0–15.6 years) and median age at diagnosis 6.9 years (0–21.9 years); 111 (73%) were children (0–9 years old), and 41 (27%) were adolescents and young adults (AYA) (10–21 years old). Periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis, and adenitis syndrome (PFAPA) occurred in 46/152 (30%), chronic non-bacterial osteomyelitis (CNO) in 32/152 (21%), and familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) in 24/152 (15.7%). PFAPA was significantly higher in young children than in AYA (38.7% vs. 7.3%, p<0.001), while CNO were lower (13.5% vs. 41.5%, p<0.001). The frequency of females was significantly higher in CNO (28.4% vs. 14.1%, p=0.031) and lower in FMF (8.1% vs. 23.1%, p=0.011). The most used drugs were glucocorticoids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), and colchicine. Glucocorticoids and colchicine treatment were used in all AID with good to moderate response. However, cryopyrin-associated periodic syndromes (CAPS) seemed unresponsive to glucocorticoids. NSAIDs and methotrexate were the main medications used to treat CNO. Conclusions: Differences among AID patients were observed in the LA population regarding sex and age at disease diagnosis.

RESUMO Objetivo: Avaliar as doenças autoinflamatórias (DAI) de acordo com sexo e idade no momento do diagnóstico e a resposta terapêutica em uma grande população. Métodos: Este é um estudo observacional transversal de um registro latino-americano que usou um sistema de dados coletados entre 2015 e 2018. Quaisquer achados alterados ao longo do acompanhamento foram registrados. Os formulários foram traduzidos para os idiomas português e espanhol, incluindo características demográficas, clínicas, laboratoriais, genéticas e de tratamento. Resultados: Incluímos 152 pacientes, sendo 51,3% do sexo masculino e 75% da raça branca. A média de idade de início da doença foi de 2,1 anos (0–15,6 anos) e a média de idade de diagnóstico 6,9 anos (0–21,9 anos); 111 (73%) eram crianças (0–9 anos) e 41 (27%) adolescentes/adultos jovens (10–21 anos). A síndrome de febre periódica, estomatite aftosa, faringite e adenite (PFAPA) ocorreu em 46/152 (30%), osteomielite não bacteriana crônica (CNO) em 32/152 (21%) e febre familiar do Mediterrâneo (FMF) em 24/152 (15,7%). A PFAPA foi significativamente maior em crianças pequenas (38,7 vs. 7,3%, p<0,001), e a CNO, em adolescentes/adultos jovens (13,5 vs. 41,5%, p<0,001). A frequência do sexo feminino foi significativamente maior na CNO (28,4 vs. 14,1%, p=0,031) e menor na FMF (8,1 vs. 23,1%, p=0,011). Os medicamentos mais utilizados foram glicocorticoides, anti-inflamatórios não esteroidais (AINE) e colchicina. O tratamento com glicocorticoides e colchicina foi usado em todas as DAI com resposta boa a moderada. No entanto, as síndromes periódicas associadas à criopirina (CAPS) pareciam não responder aos glicocorticoides. AINE e metotrexato foram os principais medicamentos utilizados no tratamento da CNO. Conclusões: Diferenças de pacientes com DAI foram observadas na população latino-americana em pacientes agrupados por sexo e idade ao diagnóstico da doença.

Cancer is one of the major causes of death worldwide, and breast cancer is the most prevalent and deadly type among women. Despite the side effects and the phenomena of chemoresistance associated with the drugs involved, chemotherapy remains the main therapeutic strategy to combat and control breast cancer. Therefore, several new classes of compounds against breast cancer have been explored, in an effort to identify new drug candidates with alternative mechanisms of action. The principal results of such exploration, focusing on caged xanthones, thiosemicarbazones and photosensitizers, are presented in this review, along with the main aspects of the drug discovery process against breast cancer. ABSTRACT This study aimed to analyze the contextual factors of the performance of dental care for pregnant women in Primary Care among municipalities in Bahia. The time series used secondary data from 417 municipalities between 2018-2022. The outcome was the target indicator for the proportion of pregnant women with dental care per municipality: insufficient (<60.0%) or sufficient (≥60.0%). The contextual variables were: sociodemographic factors (Population Size, Municipal Human Development Index, municipal Gross Domestic Product per capita – GDP, Gini Index of household income per capita, Social Vulnerability Index and Regional Health Centers) and health service (Coverage of Family Health Strategy – ESF and Oral Health). Poisson regression was performed (p<0.05). In the last four months of each year: 2.9% (2018), 2.4% (2019), 5.3% (2020), 37.2% (2021) and 71.2% (2022) of the municipalities reached the goal. In the third four months of 2021, municipalities with lower GDP, and in 2021 and 2022, with greater ESF coverage, had a greater chance of reaching the target. It is concluded that there was an increase in the proportion of dental care for pregnant women over the years among the municipalities in Bahia, and achieving the goal was associated with sociodemographic and health service factors.

RESUMO Este estudo objetivou analisar os fatores contextuais do desempenho do atendimento odontológico para gestantes na Atenção Básica entre municípios baianos. A série temporal utilizou dados secundários dos 417 municípios, entre 2018 e 2022. O desfecho foi a meta do indicador de proporção de gestantes com atendimento odontológico por município: insuficiente (<60,0%) ou suficiente (≥60,0%). As variáveis contextuais foram: fatores sociodemográficos (Porte Populacional, Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano Municipal, Produto Interno Bruto municipal per capita – PIB, Índice de Gini da renda domiciliar per capita, Índice de Vulnerabilidade Social e Núcleos Regionais de Saúde) e serviço de saúde (Cobertura de Estratégia Saúde da Família – ESF e de Saúde Bucal). Realizou-se regressão de Poisson uni e multivariada (p<0,05). No último quadrimestre de cada ano: 2,9% (2018), 2,4% (2019), 5,3% (2020), 37,2% (2021) e 71,2% (2022) dos municípios atingiram a meta. No terceiro quadrimestre de 2021, os municípios com menor PIB, e em 2021 e 2022, com maior cobertura de ESF, apresentaram maior chance de atingir a meta. Conclui-se que houve aumento da proporção de atendimento odontológico para gestante ao longo dos anos entre os municípios baianos e atingir a meta foi associado a fatores sociodemográficos e de serviço de saúde.

Resumo Este artigo analisa estatisticamente os títulos dos artigos publicados na Análise Social (1963-2022), comparando as palavras utilizadas ao longo de seis décadas. Parte-se da premissa de que a escolha de determinadas palavras é reveladora de diversos “mundos do texto”, organizados em função de motivações e interesses distintos. Enunciadas em determinados contextos históricos e mediadas pelo trabalho das sucessivas equipas editoriais, as palavras constituintes dos léxicos da revista mostram linhas de continuidade e mudança temática ao longo do tempo.

Abstract This article analyses, from a statistical point of view, the titles of the articles published in Análise Social (from 1963 to 2022), by comparing the words used over these six decades. Starting from the premise that a certain choice of words reflect a diverse set of “textual worlds”, which are organised according to different motivations and interests, these words, produced under certain historical contexts and mediated by the work of the journal’s editorial teams reveal both the continuity and the thematic changes that shaped its lexicon over time.

Abstract The study analyzed the consumption of non-standard medication in the health of indigenous peoples, emphasizing the rationality of pharmacotherapy, by conducting a cross-sectional study of secondary data from 2018 and 2019 in the Minas Gerais/Espírito Santo Special Sanitary Indigenous Health Districts. These medicines were classified by Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification. Non-parametric tests were applied to compare the origin of prescription and the form of acquisition, assessing access to medication. Rationality was verified through the consumption profile and the therapeutic option in the list of standardized medicines. A total of 104,928 pharmaceutical presentations were consumed, 66,967 (66%) for the alimentary tract and metabolism, 17,705 (17%) for the nervous system, and 12,961 (12%) for the cardiovascular system. With respect to medicines consumed per region, 171 (90%) out of 190 had a therapeutic option. Prescriptions were more from the SUS. Differences were found in the way the medicines were acquired. The study pointed to significant consumption of non-standard medicines, and there may be failings in therapeutic rationality. In indigenous health, ethnocultural and social issues are challenges to access to medicines with rational use.

Resumo O estudo analisou o consumo de medicamentos não padronizados na saúde indígena, enfatizando a racionalidade da farmacoterapia, por meio de um estudo transversal dos dados secundários, de 2018 e 2019, no Distrito Especial Sanitário de Saúde Indígena Minas Gerais/Espírito Santo. Esses medicamentos foram classificados pela Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification. Para a comparação da origem de prescrição e da forma de aquisição, empregaram-se testes não paramétricos, avaliando o acesso a medicamentos. Verificou-se a racionalidade por meio do perfil de consumo e da opção terapêutica na lista de medicamentos padronizados. Foram consumidas 104.928 apresentações farmacêuticas, 66.967 (66%) eram para o trato alimentar e o metabolismo; 17.705 (17%) para o sistema nervoso; 12.961 (12%) para o sistema cardiovascular. Quanto aos medicamentos mais consumidos por regiões, 171 (90%) dos 190 apresentavam opção terapêutica. As prescrições foram mais provenientes do SUS. Encontraram-se diferenças na forma de aquisição dos medicamentos. O estudo apontou importante consumo de medicamentos não padronizados, podendo existir falhas na racionalidade terapêutica. Na saúde indígena, questões etnoculturais e sociais constituem desafios para o acesso aos medicamentos com uso racional.

Abstract Context: The elderly population faces increasing difficulties arising from loneliness, depression and social isolation. The literature has shown the potential of using ICT to alleviate psychological distress and improve quality of life. Objective: To analyze the relationships between feelings of loneliness, depressive symptoms, and the impact of the use of and attitude towards ICT in the elderly. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional study which included 669 subjects aged between 60 and 94 years. Through self-report instruments, feelings of loneliness (UCLA-LS), depressive symptomatology (GDS-15) and the use of and attitude towards ICT were assessed. Results: Women evidenced higher levels of depressive symptomatology and feelings of loneliness. The elderly aged over 80 years reported higher levels of loneliness (in the UCLA-LS Affinities subscale) and the 60-69 age group showed the highest rate of ICT use. The presence of feelings of loneliness was associated with higher levels of depressive symptoms, and ICT use was associated with fewer depressive symptoms. Conclusions: Aging can be lived with less depressive symptomatology if the elderly feels less isolated. The use of ICT, as a communication tool, may have a positive impact on their psychological well-being, as it is associated with lower levels of depression.

Resumen Contexto: La población anciana se enfrenta a crecientes dificultades derivadas de la soledad, la depresión y el aislamiento social. La literatura ha demostrado el potencial del uso de las TIC para aliviar el malestar psicológico y mejorar la calidad de vida. Objetivos: Analizar las relaciones entre los sentimientos de soledad, la sintomatología depresiva y el impacto del uso y la actitud hacia las TIC en las personas mayores. Metodología: Se trata de un estudio transversal en el que participaron 669 sujetos con edades comprendidas entre los 60 y los 94 años. Mediante instrumentos de autoinforme se evaluó la presencia de sentimientos de soledad (UCLA-LS), la sintomatología depresiva (GDS-15) y el uso y la actitud hacia las TIC. Resultados: Las mujeres mostraron mayores niveles de sintomatología depresiva y sentimientos de soledad. Los mayores de 80 años fueron los que declararon niveles más altos de soledad (en la subescala de Afinidades) y el grupo de edad de 60-69 años fue el que más utilizó las TIC. La presencia de sentimientos de soledad se asoció con niveles más altos de síntomas depresivos y el uso de las TIC se asoció con menos síntomas depresivos. Conclusiones: Se puede vivir el envejecimiento con menos sintomatología depresiva si las personas mayores se sienten menos aisladas. El uso de las TIC, como herramienta de comunicación, puede tener un impacto positivo en su bienestar psicológico, ya que se asocia a niveles más bajos de depresión.

Resumo Contexto: A população idosa enfrenta dificuldades crescentes decorrentes de solidão, depressão e isolamento social. A literatura tem evidenciado o potencial da utilização das TIC para atenuar o sofrimento psicológico e melhorar a qualidade de vida. Objetivos: O presente estudo pretendeu analisar as relações entre sentimentos de solidão, sintomatologia depressiva e impacto da utilização e atitude face às TIC, em idosos. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo transversal que incluiu 669 sujeitos, com idades entre os 60 e 94 anos. Através de instrumentos de autorresposta avaliou-se a presença de sentimentos de solidão (UCLA-LS), sintomatologia depressiva (GDS-15) e a utilização e atitude face às TIC. Resultados: As mulheres evidenciaram níveis mais elevados de sintomatologia depressiva e sentimentos de solidão. Os idosos com mais de 80 anos relataram maiores níveis de solidão (na subescala Afinidades) e a faixa etária entre os 60-69 anos apresentou uma maior taxa de utilização das TIC. A presença de sentimentos de solidão relacionou-se com maiores níveis de sintomatologia depressiva e a utilização das TIC associou-se com menos sintomatologia depressiva. Conclusões: O envelhecimento pode ser vivido com menos sintomatologia depressiva se os idosos se sentirem menos isolados. A utilização das TIC, como ferramenta de comunicação, pode ter um impacto positivo no seu bem-estar psicológico, pois associa-se a menores níveis de depressão.

Abstract Overview and Aims: The Family Planning appointment should constitute, in addition to counseling the woman in terms of contraception and pre and post-conception care, a key opportunity for education for woman overall health. Study Design, Population and Methods: Prospective, observational study, carried out through an online questionnaire using the Google Forms® tool, disseminated through digital platforms. Nurses, residents and specialists in General and Family Medicine and Gynecology/Obstetrics who carry out Family Planning appointments were included. Results: Of the 265 responders, most promote healthy lifestyles and carry out gynecological cancer screenings, but there seems to be a significant deficit in preventing and addressing violence against women and female genital mutilation. Conclusions: The Family Planning appointment should constitute a key opportunity for its users' education, being fundamental for their long-term well-being.

Resumo Introdução e Objetivo: A consulta de Planeamento Familiar deve constituir, para além de uma consulta de aconselhamento da mulher relativo a contraceção e a cuidados pré e pós-concecionais, uma oportunidade-chave de educação para a sua saúde global. Desenho do estudo, População e Métodos: Estudo prospetivo, observacional, realizado através de um questionário online utilizando a ferramenta Google Forms®, divulgado através de plataformas digitais. Foram incluídos enfermeiros, médicos internos e especialistas em Medicina Geral e Familiar e de Ginecologia/Obstetrícia que realizam consulta de Planeamento Familiar. Resultados: Dos 265 inquiridos, a maioria promove estilos de vida saudáveis e realiza rastreios oncológicos ginecológicos, mas parece haver um défice significativo na prevenção e abordagem da violência contra mulheres e da mutilação genital feminina. Conclusão: A consulta de Planeamento Familiar deve constituir uma oportunidade de educação das utentes, sendo fundamental para o seu bem-estar a longo prazo.

Abstract Introduction: cystic fibrosis is a disease that causes inflammation, oxidative stress and metabolic changes that lead to nutrient deficiency, such as vitamin D deficiency. On the other hand, it is suggested that vitamin D has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant actions. Objective: to evaluate the prevalence of hypovitaminosis D and the association between serum 25 hydroxyvitamin D levels with markers of oxidative stress and inflammation in patients with cystic fibrosis. Method: a cross-sectional study was carried out with 48 patients with cystic fibrosis including children, adolescents and adults in the northeast region of Brazil. Blood collection was performed for analysis of 25-hydroxyvitamin D, calcium, parathyroid hormone, inflammatory process (C-reactive protein [CRP] and alpha-1-acid glycoprotein-A1 [A1GPA]) and oxidative stress (malondialdehyde (MDA) and total antioxidant capacity [CAOT]). The statistical analysis was performed using the "Statistical Package for the Social Sciences", adopting a significance level of p < 0.05. Results: vitamin D insufficiency/deficiency was found in 64.6 % of patients. After multiple linear regression analysis, MDA showed an inverse association with blood values of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (p < 0.05) conditioned by the presence of inflammatory process markers. When only oxidative stress was evaluated, this association disappeared. Conclusion: in conclusion, there was a high prevalence of hypovitaminosis D, with 25(OH)D levels associated with greater oxidative stress when combined with inflammatory markers. Improved vitamin D levels may be an alternative to reduce the damage caused by excess oxidative stress and inflammation in CF patients.

Resumen Introducción: la fibrosis quística es una enfermedad que cursa con inflamación, estrés oxidativo y cambios metabólicos que conducen a deficiencia de nutrientes como la vitamina D. Por otro lado, se sugiere que la vitamina D tiene acción antiinflamatoria y antioxidante. Objetivo: evaluar la prevalencia de hipovitaminosis D y la asociación entre los niveles séricos de 25 hidroxivitamina D con los marcadores de estrés oxidativo e inflamación en pacientes con fibrosis quística. Método: estudio transversal realizado con 48 pacientes con fibrosis quística, niños, adolescentes y adultos, de la región nordeste de Brasil. Se realizó una extracción de sangre para el análisis de 25-hidroxivitamina D, calcio, hormona paratiroidea, proceso inflamatorio (proteína C-reactiva [PCR] y alfa-1-glucoproteína ácida-A1 [A1GPA]) y estrés oxidativo (malondialdehído [MDA] y capacidad antioxidante total [CAOT]). El análisis estadístico se realizó utilizando el "Paquete Estadístico para las Ciencias Sociales", adoptando un nivel de significancia de p < 0,05. Resultados: se encontró insuficiencia/deficiencia de vitamina D en el 64,6 % de los pacientes. Después de un análisis de regresión lineal múltiple, la MDA mostró una asociación inversa con los valores sanguíneos de 25-hidroxivitamina D (p < 0,05) condicionado a la presencia de marcadores de proceso inflamatorio; cuando solo se evalúa el estrés oxidativo, esta asociación desaparece. Conclusión: en conclusión, hubo una alta prevalencia de hipovitaminosis D, con niveles de 25(OH)D asociados a mayor estrés oxidativo cuando se combina con marcadores inflamatorios. La mejora de los niveles de vitamina D puede ser una alternativa para reducir el daño causado por el exceso de estrés oxidativo y la inflamación en pacientes con FQ.

ABSTRACT Objective To develop and validate a course on basic sciences in Ophthalmology. Methods A methodological study for the development and validation of a teaching and instructional material, an online course through the ADDIE instructional design, was prepared at the Faculdade Pernambucana de Saúde (FPS). The design consists of three steps out of five: Analysis, Design, and Development. Bloom’s revised Taxonomy was used to define the learning objectives. The course was submitted remotely to content validation, through a consensus group of five specialists selected with a score higher than five in the criteria established by the Fehring model, according to the rules of Resolution 510/2016. Results With expected duration of 15 hours, the course has 19 learning objectives distributed in six pedagogical units. It contemplates the programmatic content using several interactive technological resources, such as storytelling videos, simulation with animated cartoons and clickable interactive actors and screens. In addition to having formative evaluation of content sedimentation at the end of each unit. Conclusions The online course of basic sciences in ophthalmology has been validated by specialists and it is expected to provide democratization of ophthalmology teaching to educational institutions accredited by the CBO.

RESUMO Objetivo Elaborar e validar um curso sobre Ciências Básicas em Oftalmologia. Métodos Foi realizado um estudo metodológico para elaboração e validação de material didático, na modalidade à distância, por meio do desenho instrucional ADDIE. O desenho é composto de três de cinco etapas: análise, desenho e desenvolvimento. Foi utilizada a taxonomia revisada de Bloom para definição dos objetivos de aprendizagem. O curso foi submetido à validação do conteúdo, via remota, por meio de grupo de consenso selecionado pelo modelo de Fehring, segundo as normas da resolução 510/2016. Resultados O curso elaborado e validado tem duração prevista de 15 horas e possui 19 objetivos de aprendizagem distribuído em seis unidades pedagógicas. Contempla o conteúdo programático utilizando diversos recursos tecnológicos interativos e apresenta-se com avaliações formativas de sedimentação do conteúdo ao fim de cada unidade. Conclusão O curso de Ciências Básicas em Oftalmologia na modalidade à distância validado promete democratizar o ensino da Oftalmologia às instituições de ensino credenciadas pelo Conselho Brasileiro de Oftalmologia.

Abstract A new species of Myxobolus parasitizing the arterial bulb and cardiac musculature of the freshwater fish Pimelodus ornatus Kner, 1858, from the Arari river in the municipality of Cachoeira do Arari, island of Marajó, Pará, Brazil, was described. In the present study, the observed prevalence of myxozoan parasites in the heart tissue of the hosts was 20% (6/30). The myxozoans observed had mature biconvex spores, slightly rounded, an anterior end with two pyriform polar capsules and a posterior end with very evident sporoplasm, measuring 8 ± 0.2 μmin length. The spore width was 5.8 ± 0.4 μm, with a thickness of 3.4 ± 0.2μm. The length of the polar capsules was 3.6 ± 0.3 μm and the width was 1.2 ± 0.2μm, with 6 to 7 turns of the polar filament. The divergences observed, regarding the morphometric and genetic structure of SSU rDNA, in relation to other Myxobolidae already described in the literature, confirm the description of the new species Myxobolus rangeli n. sp.

Resumo Descrição de uma nova espécie de Myxobolus que parasita o bulbo arterial e a musculatura cardíaca do peixe de água doce Pimelodus ornatus Kner, 1858, do rio Arari, no município de Cachoeira do Arari, ilha de Marajó, Pará, Brasil. No presente estudo, a prevalência observada de parasitas mixozoários no tecido cardíaco dos hospedeiros foi de 20% (6/30). Os mixozoários observados apresentavam esporos maduros biconvexos, levemente arredondados, extremidade anterior com duas cápsulas polares piriformes e extremidade posterior com esporoplasma bem evidente, medindo 8 ± 0,2 μm de comprimento. A largura do esporo foi de 5,8 ± 0,4 μm, com espessura de 3,4 ± 0,2 μm. O comprimento das cápsulas polares foi de 3,6 ± 0,3 μm e a largura foi de 1,2 ± 0,2 μm, com 6 a 7 voltas do filamento polar. As divergências observadas, quanto à estrutura morfométrica e genética de SSU rDNA, em relação a outros Myxobolidae já descritos na literatura, confirmam a descrição da nova espécie Myxobolus rangeli n. sp.

ABSTRACT Several studies have used edible packaging for food preservation due to its composition of biodegradable polymers and natural additives. In the present work, bioactive extracts obtained from the fermented and unfermented flour of tamarind residues were incorporated into formulations of edible coatings for the conservation of grapes of the cultivar ‘Italia’. The flours extracts were obtained with 80% aqueous ethanol solution. Edible coating formulations containing 10 g L-1 cassava starch and 5 g L-1 chitosan without extract or containing 10 g L-1 unfermented or fermented flour extract were prepared and applied to grapes stored at 25 °C for 15 days. The physical-chemical characteristics of the coated and uncoated fruits were similar during storage. The addition of fermented and unfermented flour extracts to the edible coatings improved the in vitro antioxidant activity of the grapes, especially that determined by the ferric reducing antioxidant power method, on the last day of storage, with emphasis on grapes coated with a formulation containing fermented residue extract. Extracts of tamarind residues incorporated in edible coatings promoted the acquisition of bioactive coatings with the potential to improve the antioxidant activity of grapes during 15 days of storage at 25 °C.

Resumen: Se realizó un experimento en campo con el objetivo de evaluar los efectos de la aplicación de tres abonos verdes de leguminosas sobre algunas propiedades químicas en un luvisol férrico (K´an kab en maya), representativo de las zonas agrícolas del estado de Campeche. Se utilizó un diseño de bloques completos al azar con siete tratamientos: Mucuna pruriens L., Vigna unguiculata L. y Phaseolus lunatus inoculados o no con endomicorrizas y bacterias benéficas fijadoras de nitrógeno, comparadas con el testigo constituido por la incorporación de arvenses más fosfato diamónico (DAP). Los resultados demuestran que todas las propiedades del suelo estudiadas: Materia orgánica (MOS), conductividad eléctrica (CE), características de pH, así como la determinación del contenido macronutrientes (N, P, K, Ca, Mg y Na), micronutrientes (B, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn), suma bases intercambiables (meq/100 g) y la relación C/N, se comportaron de manera semejante en términos estadísticos (P < 0.05). Los abonos verdes lograron aportes de nutrientes equiparables a la fertilización que combinaba el DAP con la biomasa incorporada de arvenses, lo cual evidencia, que el uso de abonos verdes, incluso de especies leguminosas cultivadas como alimento en los agroecosistemas de la Península de Yucatán, pueden sustituir la fertilización convencional en luvisoles férricos de Campeche, México.

Summary: An experiment was carried out in the field with the objective of evaluating the effects of the application of three green legume fertilizers on some chemical properties in an iron luvisol (K’an kab in Mayan), representative of the agricultural areas of the state of Campeche. A randomized complete block design was used with seven treatments: Mucuna pruriens L., Vigna unguiculata L. and Phaseolus lunatus inoculated or not with endomycorrhizae and beneficial nitrogen-fixing bacteria, compared with the control constituted by the incorporation of weeds plus diammonium phosphate (DAP). The results show that all the studied soil properties: organic matter (MOS), electrical conductivity (CE), pH characteristics, as well as the determination of the macronutrient content (N, P, K, Ca, Mg and Na), micronutrients (B, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn), add exchangeable bases (meq/100 g) and the C:N ratio, behaved in a similar way in statistical terms (P < 0.05). The green manures achieved nutrient contributions comparable to the fertilization that combined the DAP with the incorporated biomass of weeds, which shows that the use of green manures, even of legume species cultivated as food in the agroecosystems of the Yucatan Peninsula, can replace conventional fertilization in ferric luvisols from Campeche, Mexico.
