Resumo Introdução: A promoção da literacia em saúde é crucial para que os utentes possam tomar decisões adequadas em matéria de saúde, promovendo uma utilização mais eficiente dos recursos e contribuindo para a sua sustentabilidade. Objetivos: Promover a literacia em saúde entre os utentes de seis Unidades de Saúde Familiar (USF) no Norte de Portugal acerca da organização e estrutura dos cuidados de saúde primários (CSP) e a especialidade médica de medicina geral e familiar (MGF). Métodos: Estudo observacional, prospetivo, do tipo coorte. Foram aplicados questionários em formato Google® Docs a utentes com 18 ou mais anos, que preenchiam os critérios de inclusão, antes e após um mês da intervenção. A intervenção consistiu na visualização de um vídeo formativo preparado pelos autores acerca da organização e os recursos dos CSP e a especialidade de MGF. Resultados: O questionário pré-intervenção foi preenchido por 274 utentes, 165 visualizaram o vídeo educativo e 113 preencheram o questionário pós-intervenção. Apenas 88 utilizadores participaram em todas as fases do projeto e foram considerados elegíveis para a interpretação dos resultados. Após a intervenção verificou-se uma melhoria estatisticamente significativa na classificação geral obtida no questionário, com um aumento na percentagem de respostas corretas de 66,7% para 72,7% (p=0,004; IC 95%). Verificou-se também um aumento na taxa de respostas corretas em quase todas as questões aplicadas. Discussão e Conclusão: A literacia em saúde ajuda os cidadãos a tomar melhores decisões em relação à sua saúde, com um consequente impacto económico e social. Este projeto culminou na criação de uma ferramenta multimédia capaz de melhorar os conhecimentos dos utentes portugueses acerca dos CSP, passível de ser replicada noutros locais do País.

Abstract Introduction: Promoting health literacy is essential for patients to make informed healthcare decisions, ensuring more efficient resource utilization and contributing to long-term sustainability. Objectives: Enhance health literacy among patients in six health units in Northern Portugal, focusing on the organization and structure of primary healthcare services (PHC) and the medical specialty of general practice/family medicine (GPFM). Methods: An observational, prospective cohort study was conducted. Questionnaires in Google® Docs format were administered to patients aged 18 and older who met the inclusion criteria, both before and one month after the intervention. The intervention involved watching an educational video created by the authors about PHC's organization, resources, and GPFM specialty. Results: The pre-intervention questionnaire received responses from 274 patients, with 165 of them viewing the educational video and 113 completing the post-intervention questionnaire. Eighty-eight participants engaged in all phases of the project and were considered eligible for result analysis. After the intervention, there was a statistically significant improvement in the overall questionnaire score, with the percentage of correct answers increasing from 66.7% to 72.7% (p=0.004; CI 95%). Correct answer rates also improved across most of the questions. Discussion and Conclusion: Health literacy empowers individuals to make informed health choices, resulting in economic and social benefits. This project led to the creation of a multimedia tool that can enhance the understanding of Portuguese patients regarding PHC, with potential for replication in other regions of the country.

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: The objective of the present study was to verify the indication of common mental disorder and changes in healthy lifestyle among individuals affected by coronavirus disease, as well as to evaluate if changes in healthy lifestyle are predictors of common mental disorder. METHODS: This descriptive, cross-sectional study employed an exploratory approach and quantitative methodology, using the Self-Reporting Questionnaire to assess the indication of common mental disorder and questions regarding healthy lifestyle during the pandemic. RESULTS: A total of 280 individuals affected by coronavirus disease, aged 18 years and above, participated in the study. The average indication for common mental disorder was 5.0±5.34. The average age was characterized by adults (41.24±14.03 years), with the majority being women (57.9%), White (51.4%), and those in stable relationships (55.7%). Worsening sleep quality (β==6.327; p<0.001) was the main predictor of common mental disorder, followed by female gender (β==2.814; p<0.001) and worsening dietary habits (β==2.227; p<0.012). CONCLUSION: These factors should be considered in the assessment of individuals affected by coronavirus disease to provide comprehensive care.

ABSTRACT Remote monitoring of the management of coffee crops is necessary as the demand in decision-making, where the aim is to rise production based on sustainable management is in a constant growth. In this work, it was evaluated the potential of images obtained by low-cost sensors in the discrimination of sources and doses of mineral and organomineral fertilizers in coffee. The experimental design was in randomized blocks, with five blocks and six treatments, as follows: (T1) - 100% of the organomineral treatment; (T2) - 70% of the organomineral treatment; (T3) - 50% of the organomineral treatment; (T4) - 100% of mineral fertilization; (T5) - standard treatment of the farm and (T6) - 70% of mineral fertilization. After management, we used the Mapir 3 Survey3W camera coupled to an ARP drone – Phantom4 to take images of the experiment over a 12-month vegetative period. Combined with image taking, it was collected agronomic parameters of coffee growth and productivity for two crops and concluded that different fertilization doses did not significantly affect the analyzed parameters. Based on the supervised classification of multispectral images, it was possible to discriminate treatments with a higher degree of accuracy (86.66% accuracy) than when analyzing coffee growth parameters.

Abstract Introduction: Angiosarcoma is a rare vascular neoplasm, but with high aggressiveness with high rates of local recurrence and early metastasis. Clinically, it can be confused with simple hematomas or other infectious and inflammatory diseases, often making early diagnosis difficult. Skin biopsy plays a key role. Case description: We describe the case of a 70-year-old man, leukodermic, with the appearance of a spot in the left eye after two months of evolution, initially in the pre-auricular region with progression to the periocular area; no trauma associated. The patient was referred to a dermatology consultation, having performed a skin biopsy, revealing that it was an advanced epithelioid angiosarcoma of the face. He was followed up in oncology, having undergone a cycle of chemotherapy treatments with pegylated liposomal doxorubicin, showing a favorable evolution of the lesion with no evidence of metastasis until now. Comment: Early recognition of this type of neoplasm is essential, and the clinician should be diligent in relation to some aspects such as the appearance of skin spots on the face as well as ulcers or skin wounds that do not heal after four to six weeks, allowing a positive impact on the prognosis.

Resumo Introdução: O angiossarcoma é uma neoplasia vascular rara, porém, de elevada agressividade com altas taxas de recidiva local e metastização precoce. Clinicamente pode confundir-se com simples hematomas ou com doenças infeciosas e inflamatórias, dificultando o diagnóstico precoce. A biópsia cutânea assume um papel fundamental. Descrição do caso: Descreve-se o caso de um homem de 70 anos, leucodérmico, com aparecimento de mancha na face com dois meses de evolução, inicialmente na região pré-auricular e progressão para a zona periocular; sem traumatismo associado. O utente foi encaminhado para consulta de dermatologia, tendo realizado biópsia cutânea. Esta revelou angiossarcoma epitelioide avançado da face. Iniciou seguimento em consulta de oncologia médica, tendo realizado ciclo de tratamentos de quimioterapia com doxorrubicina lipossomal peguilada. Teve evolução favorável da lesão, com ausência de metastização até ao momento atual. Comentário: O reconhecimento precoce deste tipo de neoplasia torna-se essencial, devendo o médico de família apresentar uma postura diligente em relação ao aparecimento de manchas cutâneas na face, úlceras ou feridas cutâneas que não cicatrizam ao fim de quatro a seis semanas. Só o diagnóstico precoce permitirá o impacto positivo no prognóstico.

ABSTRACT Objective: To estimate the prevalence of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) in immigrants and refugees living in the metropolitan region of Goiânia, Goiás. Method: This is a cross-sectional and analytical study. Data collection was carried out from July 2019 to January 2020 and 308 immigrants and refugees were included in the sample. All were underwent face-to-face interviews and were tested for HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B, using rapid tests. Results: The general prevalence for any of the STIs investigated was 8.8% (95%CI 6.0% – 12.3%), being 5.8% (95%CI 3.6% – 8.9%) for Hepatitis B, 2.3% for Syphilis (95%CI 1.00% – 4.4%) and 0.7% for HIV (95%CI 0.1% – 2.1%). Multiple analysis, using logistic regression, showed that the variables male gender (OR = 2.7) and length of time living in Brazil (OR = 2.6) were significantly associated with STIs (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that STIs are a health problem in immigrants/refugees, which appear to be enhanced with the length of migration in the country. Public policies that guarantee health care for this population shall be considered.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Estimar la prevalencia de Enfermedades de Transmisión Sexual (ETS) en inmigrantes y refugiados residentes en la región metropolitana de Goiânia, Goiás. Método: Se trata de un estudio transversal y analítico. La recolección de datos se llevó a cabo desde julio de 2019 hasta enero de 2020 y se incluyeron en la muestra 308 inmigrantes y refugiados. Todos fueron entrevistados cara a cara y sometidos a pruebas de VIH, Sífilis y Hepatitis B, mediante pruebas rápidas.. Resultados: La prevalencia general para cualquiera de las ETS investigadas fue de 8,8% (IC95% 6,0% – 12,3%), siendo 5,8% (IC95% 3,6% – 8,9%) para Hepatitis B, 2,3% para Sífilis (IC95% 1,00% – 4,4%) y 0,7% para VIH (IC95% 0,1% – 2,1%). El análisis múltiple, mediante regresión logística, mostró que las variables género masculino (OR = 2,7) y tiempo de residencia en Brasil (OR = 2,6) se asociaron significativamente con las ETS (p < 0,05). Conclusión: Los resultados de este estudio sugieren que las ETS son un problema de salud en inmigrantes/refugiados, que parecen exacerbarse con la duración de la migración en el país. Se deben considerar políticas públicas que garanticen la atención de la salud de esta población.

Resultados: A prevalência geral para alguma das IST investigadas foi de 8,8% (IC95% 6,0% – 12,3%), sendo 5,8% (IC95% 3,6% – 8,9%) para Hepatite B, 2,3% para Sífilis (IC95% 1,00% – 4,4%) e 0,7% para HIV (IC95% 0,1% – 2,1%). A análise múltipla, por regressão logística, mostrou que as variáveis sexo masculino (OR = 2,7) e tempo de moradia no Brasil (OR = 2,6) foram associadas significativamente às IST (p < 0,05). Conclusão: Os resultados deste estudo sugerem que as IST são um problema de saúde em imigrantes/refugiados, que parecem ser exacerbadas com o tempo de migração no país. Políticas públicas que garantam a assistência à saúde dessa população devem ser consideradas.

Abstract The determination of hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) in bee honey is performed by the spectrophotometric methods Winkler's and White's. The Winkler method reads the absorbances in the visible region of the spectrum, and the White method measures in the ultraviolet (UV) and visible regions of the spectrum. This study aims to compare the spectrophotometric methodologies of White and Winkler to the determination of HMF in bee honey. For the study, it was used a UV-visible spectrophotometer, 10 mm optical path quartz cuvettes, and ten bee honey samples of different flowering. Absorbances at 550 nm were analyzed by the Winkler method; absorbances at 284 nm and 336 nm in the White method; and a comparison of HMF concentration (mg/kg) was carried out between the methods. The results showed significant differences (p<0.05) in HMF concentration determined by both methods. The main conclusion is that the Winkler method presents higher HMF values than the White method.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE: To describe the frequency of behavioral problems and the internal consistency of the parent version of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ-P) in Amazonian preschool children during the covid-19 pandemic. METHODS: Data from the Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition in Acre (MINA-Brazil) study, a population-based birth cohort in the Western Brazilian Amazon, were used. The SDQ-P was applied in 2021 at the five-year follow-up visit to parents or caregivers of 695 children (49.4% of which were girls). This instrument is a short behavioral screening questionnaire composed of 25 items reorganized into five subscales: emotional symptoms, conduct problems, hyperactivity/inattention, peer relationship problems, and prosocial behavior. Cases of behavioral problems were defined according to the original SDQ cut-offs based on United Kingdom norms. Moreover, cut off points were estimated based on the SDQ-P percentile results of our study sample. Internal consistency was assessed by calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient and McDonald's omega for each scale. RESULTS: According to the cut-offs based on our studied population distribution, 10% of all children had high or very high total difficulty scores, whereas it was almost twice when the original SDQ cut-offs based on United Kingdom norms, were applied (18%). Differences were also observed in the other scales. Compared to girls, boys showed higher means of externalizing problem and lower means of prosocial behavior. The five-factor model showed a moderate internal consistency of the items for all scales (0.60 ≤ α ≤ 0.40), except for total difficulty scores, which it considered substantial (α > 0.61). CONCLUSIONS: Our results support the usefulness of SDQ in our study population and reinforce the need for strategies and policy development for mental health care in early life in the Amazon.

RESUMO OBJETIVO: Descrever a frequência de problemas de comportamento e a consistência interna da versão para os pais do Questionário de Capacidades e Dificuldades (SDQ-P) em crianças pré-escolares da Amazônia durante a pandemia de covid-19. MÉTODOS: Foram utilizados dados do estudo de saúde e nutrição Materno-Infantil no Acre (MINA-Brasil), uma coorte de nascimentos de base populacional na Amazônia Ocidental Brasileira. O SDQ-P foi aplicado aos pais e cuidadores em 2021 na visita de acompanhamento de cinco anos de 695 crianças (49,4% das quais eram meninas). Esse instrumento é um breve questionário de rastreamento comportamental composto por 25 itens reorganizados em cinco subescalas: sintomas emocionais, problemas de conduta, hiperatividade/desatenção, problemas de relacionamento com colegas e comportamento pró-social. Os casos de problemas de comportamento foram definidos de acordo com os pontos de corte originais do SDQ, baseados nas normas do Reino Unido. Além disso, os pontos de corte foram estimados com base nos percentis dos resultados do SDQ-P da amostra do nosso estudo. A consistência interna foi avaliada pelo cálculo do coeficiente alfa de Cronbach e ômega de McDonald para cada escala. RESULTADOS: De acordo com os pontos de corte baseados na distribuição da população estudada, 10% de todas as crianças apresentaram escores totais de dificuldade elevados ou muito elevados, o que quase dobrou quando os pontos de corte originais do SDQ, baseados nas normas do Reino Unido, foram utilizados (18%). Este estudo também encontrou diferenças nas demais escalas. Comparados às meninas, os meninos apresentaram maiores médias de problemas de externalização e menores médias de comportamento pró-social. O modelo de cinco fatores apresentou consistência interna dos itens moderada para todas as escalas (0,60 ≤ α ≤ 0,40), exceto para a escala de pontuação total de dificuldades, a qual foi considerada substancial (α > 0,61). CONCLUSÕES: Nossos resultados apoiam a utilidade do SDQ em nossa população de estudo e reforçam a necessidade de estratégias e desenvolvimento de políticas para o cuidado em saúde mental no início da vida na Amazônia.

Abstract Objective To assess the “Enfermeiro Diagnosticador” board game effectiveness for teaching diagnostic reasoning among nursing students. Methods This is a quasi-experimental study, developed in three stages: “Enfermeiro Diagnosticador” (Diagnostician Nurse) game construction; content analysis of clinical cases by experts; and “Enfermeiro Diagnosticador” game application. Nineteen experts participated in content analysis. Pre- and post-tests were performed with 11 undergraduate nursing students, attending semiology, a baseline subject. Results The nine clinical cases that comprised the game were organized into clues capable of subsidizing the composition of nursing diagnoses. These were assessed with good suitability by 19 experts in diagnostic reasoning and/or educational technology. Comparing students’ performance before and after the experiment, the correct diagnostic inference showed a statistically significant difference in the resolution of the first and second diagnoses (p=0.008). Moreover, the correct writing of diagnosis was a highlight in the post-test and all the items assessed showed improvement after the board game application. Conclusion It is concluded that “Enfermeiro Diagnosticador” is effective in supporting the teaching of diagnostic reasoning in nursing. In this way, we aim to advance in the state of the art with regard to low-cost and easily accessible educational games to support diagnostic reasoning in nursing.

Resumen Objetivo Evaluar la efectividad del juego Enfermero Diagnosticador para la enseñanza del razonamiento diagnóstico en estudiantes de enfermería. Métodos Estudio cuasi experimental desarrollado en tres etapas: elaboración del juego de mesa Enfermero Diagnosticador, análisis de contenido de los casos clínicos por especialistas y aplicación del juego de mesa Enfermero Diagnosticador. Participaron 19 especialistas en el análisis de contenido. El pretest y el postest se realizó con 11 estudiantes de la carrera de Enfermería que cursaban la materia Bases de la Semiología. Resultados Los nueve casos clínicos que formaban parte del juego fueron organizados en pistas que podían respaldar la composición de los diagnósticos de enfermería. Estos casos fueron evaluados con buena idoneidad por 19 especialistas en razonamiento diagnóstico o tecnología educativa. Al comparar el rendimiento de los estudiantes antes y después del experimento, la inferencia diagnóstica correcta presentó diferencia estadística significativa en la resolución del primer y segundo diagnóstico (p=0,008). Además, la escritura correcta del diagnóstico fue un punto destacado en el postest, y todos los ítems evaluados presentaron una mejora en el momento posterior a la aplicación del juego de mesa. Conclusión Se concluye que el juego de mesa Enfermero Diagnosticador es efectivo para respaldar la enseñanza del razonamiento diagnóstico en enfermería. De esta forma, se pretende avanzar en el estado del diseño en lo que respecta a juegos educativos de bajo costo y fácil acceso para respaldar el razonamiento diagnóstico en enfermería.

Resumo Objetivo Avaliar a efetividade do jogo de tabuleiro Enfermeiro Diagnosticador para o ensino do raciocínio diagnóstico em estudantes de enfermagem. Métodos Estudo quase-experimental, desenvolvido em três etapas: construção do jogo de tabuleiro Enfermeiro Diagnosticador; análise de conteúdo dos casos clínicos por especialistas; e aplicação do jogo de tabuleiro Enfermeiro Diagnosticador. Participaram 19 especialistas na análise de conteúdo. O pré-teste e o pós-teste foram realizados com 11 discentes do Curso de Graduação em Enfermagem, cursando a Disciplina de Bases da Semiologia. Resultados Os nove casos clínicos que compuseram o jogo foram organizados em pistas capazes de subsidiar a composição dos diagnósticos de enfermagem. Esses foram avaliados com boa adequação por 19 especialistas em raciocínio diagnóstico e/ou tecnologia educacional. Comparando o desempenho dos discentes antes e após o experimento, a inferência diagnóstica correta apresentou diferença estatística significativa na resolução do primeiro e segundo diagnósticos (p=0,008). Além disso, a escrita correta do diagnóstico foi ponto de destaque no pós-teste e todos os itens avaliados apresentaram melhora no momento pós-aplicação do jogo de tabuleiro. Conclusão Conclui-se que o jogo de tabuleiro Enfermeiro Diagnosticador é efetivo no apoio ao ensino do raciocínio diagnóstico em enfermagem. Desta forma, almeja-se avançar no estado da arte no que concerne a jogos educativos de baixo custo e fácil acesso para dar suporte ao raciocínio diagnóstico em enfermagem.

ABSTRACT Objective: to investigate the relationship between procalcitonin in the differential diagnosis of bacterial coinfection in COVID-19 patients. Method: a cross-sectional retrospective study conducted between February and March 2021 in the Intensive Care Unit of a public hospital from southern Brazil by filling in a form. Descriptive statistical analyses were performed, as well as of association between variables. Results: of the 231 patients, 28.14% presented infection (63.20% in the lungs), 25% had bacteria isolated, 77.49% used antimicrobials and, in 14.72% of the cases, procalcitonin > 2 ng/mL. There was a significant association between antimicrobial use and infection (p=0.001), isolation of bacteria (p<0.001), topography of the infection (p<0.001) and procalcitonin values (p<0.001). Procalcitonin use showed an association with bacterial infection (p<0.001), isolation of bacteria (p<0.001), antimicrobial use (p=0.001) and death (p<0.001). Conclusion: procalcitonin can reduce empirical antimicrobial use and stimulate detection and identification of pathogens, taking into account the clinical and epidemiological data.

RESUMEN Objetivo: investigar la relación de la procalcitonina en el diagnóstico diferencial de coinfección bacteriana en pacientes con COVID-19. Método: estudio transversal y retrospectivo realizado entre febrero y marzo de 2021 en la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital público del sur de Brasil, por medio de un formulario. Se realizaron análisis estadísticos descriptivos y de asociación entre variables. Resultados: de los 231 pacientes, el 28,14% presentó infección (el 63,20% en los pulmones), en el 25% se aislaron las bacterias, el 77,49% utilizó antimicrobianos y en el 14,72% de los casos se empleó procalcitonina > 2 ng/mL. Hubo una significativa asociación entre uso de antimicrobianos e infección (p=0,001), aislamiento de bacterias (p<0,001), topografía de la infección (p<0,001) y valores de procalcitonina (p<0,001). La utilización de procalcitonina demostró estar asociada con infección bacteriana (p<0,001), aislamiento de bacterias (p<0,001), uso de antimicrobianos (p=0,001) y fallecimiento (p<0,001). Conclusión: la procalcitonina puede reducir el uso empírico de antimicrobianos y estimular la detección e identificación de patógenos, considerando los datos clínicos y empíricos.

RESUMO: Objetivo: investigar a relação da procalcitonina no diagnóstico diferencial de coinfecção bacteriana em pacientes com Covid-19. Método: estudo transversal retrospectivo, realizado em unidade de terapia intensiva em hospital público do sul do Brasil, entre fevereiro e março de 2021, mediante formulário. Realizaram-se análises estatísticas descritivas e de associação entre variáveis. Resultados: dos 231 pacientes, 28,14% apresentaram infecção, 63,20% de sítio pulmonar, em 25% ocorreu isolamento de bactérias, 77,49% utilizaram antimicrobianos e em 14,72% dos casos foi observada procalcitonina > dois ng/mL. Houve associação significativa entre uso de antimicrobiano e infeção (p=0,001), isolamento de bactérias (p<0,001), topografia da infeção (p<0,001), valores de procalcitonina (p<0,001). O uso da procalcitonina mostrou associação com infeção bacteriana (p<0,001), isolamento de bactéria (p<0,001), uso de antimicrobianos (p=0,001), e óbito (p<0,001). Conclusão: a procalcitonina pode reduzir o uso empírico de antimicrobianos e estimular a detecção e identificação de patógenos, levando em consideração os dados clínicos e epidemiológicos.

Abstract The present cross-sectional study aimed to analyze the relationship between awake bruxism and fatigue of masticatory muscles in healthy young adults. For this purpose, 121 graduate students participated in this study. Frequency of awake bruxism was collected for 7 consecutive days by ecological momentary assessment (EMA) using an online survey (mentimeter). Muscle fatigue was tested one day after EMA assessment, which consisted of voluntarily and continuously clenching at 30% (kgf/cm2) of maximum bite force (MBF) until exhaustion. The percentage of change in MBF after the clenching task, as compared to the MBF before the clenching task was measured. The average frequency of awake bruxism was 45.5% during 7 days. Sustained clenching resulted in a significant reduction in MBF values in the total sample (p < 0.05). Nevertheless, no significant correlation was found between frequency of awake bruxism behaviors and percent of change in MBF and endurance time during the fatigue test. Therefore, it can be concluded that young healthy adults present a relatively high frequency of awake bruxism behaviors that do not seem to impact the degree of masticatory muscle fatigue.

Polymers are options as antimicrobials for skin protection, antifouling surfaces, and fabrics. Here we analyzed the interaction of polymers based on poly(methacrylate) (PMMA) and poly((dimethylamino ethyl) methacrylate) (PDMAEMA) with model membranes and bacteria. We used the homopolymers PMMA, PDMAEMA, and the diblock copolymer(s) prepared with different PMMAm:PDMAEMAn ratios (m/n). The interactions of PDMAEMA and PMMAm-b-PDMAEMAn with large unilamellar vesicles (LUVs) prepared with phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylglycerol at different pHs, were analyzed by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), dynamic light scattering, and zeta potential. These polymers promoted LUVs leakage of a fluorescent probe (5,6-carboxyfluorescein) localized exclusively in the internal aqueous compartment. Interestingly, all copolymers exhibit a bell-shaped pH dependence for the polymer-induced LUVs leakage. The interaction of the positively charged polymers and the pH effect was also demonstrated using giant unilamellar vesicles. These copolymers inhibited bacterial growth in the micromolar range and can be used to prevent bacterial growth on surfaces.

Abstract Objective To assess and compare socioeconomic factors, lifestyle habits, and the health of older women with and without sexual experience. Method A quantitative, analytical, observational, and cross-sectional population-based study was conducted. Participants were divided into two groups: the CVS group (with sexual experience) and the SVS group (without sexual experience), based on the question: "Do you have an active sexual life?". Socioeconomic variables, sleep patterns, comorbidities, and the level of physical activity were analyzed using a question from the SRQ-20, a list based on the Work Ability Index, and the long version of the IPAQ, respectively. Descriptive analysis was performed using absolute frequencies and percentages. Mann-Whitney U test, chi-square test, and multiple linear regression were used with a significance level set at p<0.05. Results The total sample consisted of 494 older women, with 100 of them in the CVS group. Having a stable partner (p<0.0001), a younger age (p<0.0001), higher family income (p<0.0001), duration of vigorous physical activity (p=0.005), and walking (p<0.0001) were significant and positive factors for continued sexual experience in the analyzed sample. Conclusion The study identified significant differences when comparing the groups, highlighting the influence of socioeconomic and health factors on the expression of sexuality in older women, thus emphasizing the challenges they face. Public policies and health education initiatives are necessary to safeguard rights, dignity, and promote positive changes in the lives of this population.

Resumo Objetivo avaliar e comparar fatores socioeconômicos, hábitos de vida e saúde de mulheres idosas com e sem vivência sexual. Método Pesquisa quantitativa, analítica, observacional e transversal de base populacional. As participantes foram divididas em dois grupos: grupo CVS - com vivência sexual e grupo SVS - sem vivência sexual, por meio da pergunta: “Você tem vida sexual ativa?”. Foram analisadas variáveis socioeconômicas, sono, comorbidades e nível de atividade física através de uma questão do SRQ-20, uma lista baseada no Índice de Capacidade para o Trabalho e o IPAQ versão longa, respectivamente. A análise descritiva foi realizada com uso de frequências absolutas e percentuais. O teste U de Mann Whitney, teste qui-quadrado e regressão linear múltipla consideraram nível de significância de p<0,05. Resultados a amostra totalizou 494 idosas, 100 delas do grupo CVS. Ter um companheiro fixo (p<0,0001), idade menos avançada (p<0,0001), renda familiar mais alta (p<0,0001), tempo de atividade física vigorosa (p=0,005) e caminhada (p<0,0001) foram fatores significativos e positivos quanto a continuidade da vivência sexual na amostra analisada. Conclusão O estudo identificou diferenças significativas quando comparados os grupos demonstrando a influência dos fatores socioeconômicos e de saúde na expressão da sexualidade de mulheres idosas, destacando os desafios enfrentados. Políticas públicas e ações de educação em saúde são necessárias para garantir direitos, dignidade e promover mudanças positivas na vida dessa população.

Abstract The aim of this paper was to present a summary of the process of developing and preparing the final documents of the national consensus for teaching undergraduate Brazilian dental students the dental caries curriculum in the Portuguese language. The final document was developed in three steps: a) The ABENO and LAOHA cariology group invited experts from all five regions of Brazil to participate in the discussion. The theoretical support for crafting the first draft of the consensus was based on two publications: National Curriculum Guidelines of the Dentistry graduation in Brazil, Ministry of Education (2021) and the competences described in the European Core Curriculum for Cariology (ORCA-ADEE, 2011); b) The group of experts was divided into 5 working groups: G1-Domain, Main and Specific Competences, G2-Essential knowledge, G3-Life course perspective, G4-Social determinants and dental caries, G5- Glossary. The document was finalized by thoroughly reviewing the process using Delphi methodology; c) The 5-chapter document (one from each working group) was submitted to three open public consultations in 2022 (May-June, August, and October) using Google-forms. The suggestions (content/wording) were discussed within the group as: totally accepted, partially accepted, and rejected. A total of 192 suggestions were registered from 31 dental schools in all regions of Brazil. The number of suggestions received per Group were: 84, 28, 26, 24, 30 suggestions for G1, G2, G3, G4 and G5, respectively. The majority of suggestions were totally accepted by the group of experts (n = 172, 89.6%), 15 were partially accepted (7.8%), and 5 were rejected. Conclusion The final document could be considered to be the first national consensus for teaching the dental caries curriculum in Brazil.

Abstract Background Brazil has two government-funded drug supply programs, the Popular Pharmacy Program of Brazil (PFPB), and the provision in Unified Health System (SUS) units, which have items in common. Objective To explore the relationship between the use of PFPB by hypertensive and diabetic patients and factors related to care in basic health units, the pharmacy structure of units, and the availability of antihypertensive and antidiabetic agents common to PFPB and SUS in Brazilian municipalities of medium and large population sizes. Method A cross-sectional ecological study was carried out using secondary data from PFPB and the National Program for Improving Access and Quality in Primary Care (PMAQ-AB) for 2012. Results Municipalities of medium population showed a greater proportion of health units with antihypertensive and antidiabetic availability than those of large size. Most respondents at PMAQ-AB affirmed that hypertension and diabetes medications are available in public health services. The multivariate analysis showed that the use of Popular Pharmacy by the population is more related to emergency and occasional situations. Conclusion PFPB supplies the need for the population to obtain medications in the absence of SUS, evidencing an important role in the continuity of drug treatment for many individuals suffering from hypertension and diabetes.

Resumo Introdução O Brasil conta com dois programas de financiamento governamental para a provisão de medicamentos, o Programa Farmácia Popular do Brasil (PFPB) e a provisão em Unidades do Sistema Único de Saúde, ambos possuindo itens em comum. Objetivo Explorar a relação entre o uso do PFPB por hipertensos e diabéticos com fatores relacionados ao atendimento nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde, à estrutura da farmácia destas Unidades e à disponibilidade dos anti-hipertensivos e antidiabéticos comuns ao PFPB e ao SUS em municípios brasileiros de médio e grande porte populacional. Método Delineamento ecológico transversal utilizando dados secundários do PFPB e do Programa Nacional de Melhoria do Acesso e Qualidade na Atenção Básica (PMAQ-AB), com dados referentes ao ano de 2012. Resultados Municípios de médio porte apresentaram uma proporção de Unidades de Saúde com disponibilidade de anti-hipertensivos e antidiabéticos superior aos de grande porte. A maioria dos respondentes do PMAQ-AB relataram disponibilidade dos anti-hipertensivos e antidiabéticos nos serviços públicos. A análise multivariada mostrou que o uso da Farmácia Popular pela população está mais relacionado às situações emergenciais e ocasionais. Conclusão Na ausência do SUS, o PFPB supre a necessidade da população para obter medicamentos, evidenciando o seu importante papel para a continuidade do tratamento de muitos indivíduos com hipertensão e diabetes.

RESUMO Sistemas de drenagem urbana sustentáveis (SUDS) são tecnologias que dispensam as tradicionais galerias pluviais e têm como premissa a sustentabilidade. Frutal, município do estado de Minas Gerais, sofre com problemas de drenagem pluvial e está em processo de atualização de seu plano diretor. O objetivo do trabalho é discutir, em termos teóricos, a aplicação dos SUDS nesse município, apresentando sugestões para seu plano diretor, bem como realizar a prospecção de tecnologias SUDS para fundamentar futuros estudos técnicos acerca da aplicação dessas tecnologias em Frutal, contribuindo com a literatura sobre SUDS. Para tanto, adotou como procedimentos metodológicos o estudo de caso, a revisão de literatura e o mapeamento de patentes. Como resultados, o trabalho identificou os pontos críticos de inundações e processos erosivos em Frutal, enfatizando os problemas de inundação nos bairros Centro, XV de Novembro, Princesa Isabel, Jardim das Laranjeiras, Progresso, Novo Horizonte e Caju, e de processos erosivos nos bairros Ipê Amarelo e Waldemar Marchi. Expôs uma série de diretrizes sobre os SUDS que poderão nortear eventuais mudanças no plano diretor e futuros projetos legislativos e técnicos, como incentivos econômicos e campanhas de conscientização acerca dessa tecnologia, e fornece exemplos de tecnologias patenteadas que poderão ser referência para posteriores ações de drenagem urbana, especialmente do tipo pavimentos permeáveis, sobretudo para áreas com elevado índice de ocupação do solo e com dificuldades para instalação de equipamentos superficiais de drenagem. ABSTRACT Sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) are technologies that dispense traditional storm sewers and are premised on sustainability. It was found that Frutal, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, suffers from problems with rainwater drainage and is in the process of updating its Master Plan. Therefore, this work aimed to discuss, in theoretical terms, the application of SUDS in this Municipality, presenting suggestions for its, as well as prospecting SUDS technologies to support future technical studies on the application of these technologies in the Municipality, also contributing to the literature on SUDS. For that, this study adopted a case study, literature review, and patent mapping as a methodological procedure. As a result, the work identified the critical points of flooding and erosion processes in the municipality of Frutal, emphasizing the problems of flooding in the Centro, XV de Novembro, Princesa Isabel, Jardim das Laranjeiras, Progresso, Novo Horizonte, and Caju districts, and erosion processes in the Ipê Amarelo and Waldemar Marchi districts. It exposes a series of SUDS guidelines that may lead eventual changes in the Master Plan and future legislative and technical projects, such as economic incentives and awareness campaigns about this technology, and provides examples of patented technologies that may be a reference for subsequent urban drainage actions, especially of the permeable pavement type, for areas with a high rate of soil occupation and with difficulties in installing surface drainage equipment.
